Starting point is 00:00:33 Every time I see that username, Data Republican, I'm like, don't mind if I do. But she's, she's fucking married. Yeah, she's married. And we know, like, she's a pretty alpha female. If I'm going to say so myself, she cannot say so herself anything. But we know, she didn't get down on one knee and propose. We know that at least. Because she's nonverbal.
Starting point is 00:01:02 She's a nonverbal woman. We were talking about Dave Republican beforehand, and Spencer said, we were talking about, you know, all the self-diagnosis stuff that goes on. We're all in agreement. Data Republic, this is the only person where it's like, yeah, you have all the problems you say you have and then solve. You know, it would be like, she may be married, but like, as far as I can tell, I don't think there is a husband of data Republican account yet. So I think it would be fun to create a, like an alt account that's husband of data Republican and boyfriend. of Data Republican and have them start beefing with each other.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Yeah. And if you created that account too, she would be like, oh, I guess this is my husband. She's sort of like the opposite of Helen Keller. Like she's, so she can't talk. She's death. Her mom is like the opposite of the movie.
Starting point is 00:01:55 She's the curse worker. She was just like, her mom, like during every fucking trimester, she was just fucking whipping softballs at mirrors, adopting black cats. Well, we will be diving deep into the Data Republican saga on this episode,
Starting point is 00:02:15 which has vastly become one of my favorite stories and one of my favorite people that I've been made aware of. I love her. So she rules. She's my favorite new right-wing personality and account. But first of all, let's officially start the show. It's Monday, August 31st, and this is your choppo. On today's episode, we are joined by, Felix and I are joined by the goat, the champion from Defector.
Starting point is 00:02:39 It's David Roth. Thanks for having me, guys. Really excited to chop it up on the Genica Pounds issue. I mean, David, like, when I found out that this person's name was Genica Pounds, I was like, I guess my joke was Bond Girl who's thick. But, like, this could be a name that Matt, Matt came up with, like in the T-Cot era. Yeah, this is fully, like, like us. a lesser version. Because he had like a senator
Starting point is 00:03:06 that was named like turd lunchbox or something like that that was like a recurring character in posts. But like Jenica Pounds, Jenica especially, two ends is like, it's a new one on me. And this is something like I would say
Starting point is 00:03:19 that I follow the issue of Mormon adjacent American name weighs pretty closely. So the goat mat name, or at least like in my opinion, everyone's got their favorites. My favorite. We might be thinking of the same thing. Kurt Carruthers.
Starting point is 00:03:34 That's always been my favorite. Because it's like, the best parody is like, it's just like 0.2% more real than real. Yeah. Like it's, like, it's, like, really the issue is that he was like 18 months early as opposed to just being funnier than everybody else. Like, both are true. But it's like, like, like, Kurd Kourthers was just like still like getting kicked out of the college Republicans at Brigham Young at the time, like, in real life. when Matt put that name online and then like now we just have to wait for him to get elected.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Kurt Carruthers, I would be falling asleep sometimes. You know when you're in that like melatonin haze? I call it speedballing. But, uh, drink a red ball that day. But, um, and I would just, I would think like, oh, should I, like,
Starting point is 00:04:22 uh, what if Kurt Carruthers has written any new articles? Like, it, it, like, seeped into being a real person to be because it's just, it's so good. But yeah. Genica Lounds, there are a lot of these lately. You know, people, we've talked about this a lot,
Starting point is 00:04:38 how the sort of difficulty in parodying everything when there's no facade on everything and it's like dumber than what you come up with. Yeah. It gets to the point where you like, you can't really even joke. It's like so stupid that it comes around
Starting point is 00:04:54 and becomes unparodial. Like Genica Pounds is funnier than any name that any of us were going to come up with, but also the stuff that she does, the idea of like just basically taking her conviction that she's being gangstocked every waking moment of her life and making like a career in the department of defense
Starting point is 00:05:14 with it is... Yeah. Like it's not even... It's funny, but it's not a joke. But David, what I love about this story is that like it combines like a number of elements that I really enjoy it. Like one is that it's a story
Starting point is 00:05:25 about overcoming disability. Arguably. But it's also a story about overcoming disability and still being totally over your head. Yes. Right. She bucked the odds to get a job doing a thing that she does not know how to do at all. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:41 I don't know overcoming. I would say she's in a war of attrition with her disabilities and the disabilities of a running. Sort of a rushy Ukraine situation. Like, no, no one's doing great. But I just, yeah. So I thought I was a Janet Capounde scholar. at least compared to most people. I don't know everything about her.
Starting point is 00:06:04 God, I should have fucking predicted it. Of course she works for the fucking Department of War, Department of Defense. That makes this whole thing of her being like, the deep state's trying to frame me. You are the deep state, Genica. Yeah. Or at least like the medium state.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Yeah, like that's an issue that could have been solved with like a Slack DM in her own workplace. the idea you'd have to take that shit directly to Twitter and be like, they're doing it again. Like George Soros or somebody is giving me information. Should we lay out what she was actually? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:44 Yeah, let's dive into Data Republican here. And like, I'm going to, I'm going to just, I'm a crib from Will Summer, who has like the definitive write up of the Data Republican saga. He writes here, pro-Trump internet sleuth, Genica Pounds, better known as Data Republican, to her nearly one million followers on X
Starting point is 00:07:01 made a grim announcement on Friday. Deep state operatives embedded within the Trump administration had tried to entrap her into committing treason. It's not okay when the deep state sets you up to commit a crime, she wrote in a now deleted threat. That is never been okay. In my life. Basically what happened here is that her boss,
Starting point is 00:07:22 who is like, you know, the undersecretary at the State Department, and like in data Republicans guys, as an undisclosed flack for the Pentagon was given documents pertaining to Cuba to release. Like, it'll be like, one of these things were like, like, the government gives you a document
Starting point is 00:07:41 to be like, ooh, hot scoop, and you're like, new uncovered documents show, you know, why we need to go to war with Cuba. And she became convinced that the documents given to her by someone in the State Department were like, because they were redacted, were classified, and that if she posted them on Twitter,
Starting point is 00:07:58 she would get arrested for treason or something or for leaking classified information. So the person that sent it to her is like Sarah Rogers, right? She's like, you know, one of these people, she went to like Princeton or Sanford, Columbia, some ivy or at the very least sub-Ivy, not smart but like competent.
Starting point is 00:08:20 She's doing this thing that Republican administrations have done, you know, since fucking Nixon. You know, this is what, like, like Reagan and Bush and George W. Bush would do to like Robert Novak. They would give them something where, I mean, in a Novak's case, sometimes it would be like continence. It would be classified. Yeah, I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Yeah. But like for 90% of the time, it's something where it's like you're not going to get in trouble. This is something you otherwise wouldn't see because like, you know, we as the administration, we want to, there's some foreign policy goal or something we want to get out there and you're like a good source for us. But there's no more Robert Novak's. And in place of Robert Novak is Genica Pounds, who is, like, imagine you're trying to do this. Like, you're some evil actual deep state operative, like, undersecretary for whatever.
Starting point is 00:09:14 And everyone you are working, like every organ of the state, every dupe you have, is like a targeted individual. Like, before this, they were like taking pictures of their mailman. being like, you're trying to figure out if I'm obulating or not. And you have to work with those people. Felix, did you know that government employees literally come to my house every day? They have a special key where they can access my mail and give me documents, often sent by the government to me personally. What do these messages mean?
Starting point is 00:09:50 They don't want you to know. It's not a rhetorical question. So they leave them there to taunt you to keep you on edge so that you don't pay attention to what's really important. The idea of being too mentally ill to do Robert Novak shit is really actually kind of inspiring. Well, this is like the State Department
Starting point is 00:10:07 leaking documents to a hand-selected data person, data journalist, to a hand-selected targeted individual to essentially create a pretext for, I don't know, starving Cuba to death or going to war with it. And then, like, she began to think that
Starting point is 00:10:25 like because these were these were government documents that she was being set up to commit treason by the deep state within the Trump administration even though she's an employee of the same administration who hired her to be Pete heck like a Pete heggseth licksbiddle at the pentagon along with feather several other shall we say semi nonverbal uh yeah individual yeah yeah yeah like intermediate in the linguistic process i know one of my favorites I'm subjects is the study of the origin of language. Sometime in the 19th century, they banned, like, there was this academic conference in France where they, like,
Starting point is 00:11:04 banned it as a topic of debate because it's just like, how could we ever know? But I feel like data Republican, if we get a bunch of data Republicans in a room, we could be like, and just, you know, like get 20 of them. We could be like, see them develop their own natural language and get some insights on the process. Like, a version of schizophrenia.
Starting point is 00:11:25 that only dolphins could contract somehow. Yeah. I didn't communicate levels beyond our comprehension. Speaking of levels beyond our comprehension, this is my favorite part of this is she, okay, so she has gotten her mom to apologize to Sarah Rogers. But so if it's not Sarah Rogers who is conspiring to send her to prison,
Starting point is 00:11:49 then like who, like what out of, you would figure out of like all the Trump, if you are the deep state fighting against, Trump and you are pretending to be on Trump's side. Why is Data Republican like your first? That's like the big, you know, you have like the org chart like the FBI has for the mafia. Oh, Sarah Rogers, you're Data Republican.
Starting point is 00:12:13 She's like the sounding board. She's like Sammy the Bull. She'll know everything. What like she is saying she's saying that like they are, you know, by virtue of sending her, illegally sending her non-classified information, presumably like 10 or 11 people are risking the same punishment if data Republican squeals. So like what is like that I mean all these people have delusions of Granger, but I just don't, I don't, if you are the deep state, which presumably also hates Marco Rubio, even though he has the exact same ideology and goals, you got
Starting point is 00:12:51 a data Republican in I guess she her prison would be like a McDonald's play place you can't leave but you got her in there okay now what like what was if you're the deep state if the deep state's plans are being foiled by data Republican then I like it's not looking good for the deep state they're not staging a comeback yeah that's where it's time to just maybe trade off the remaining talent on your roster stockpile some draft picks like start targeting like 2032
Starting point is 00:13:21 It's like the beginning of your next competitive window. If you're like getting dogwalked by Data Republicate on X.com. I would like, yeah, if that's the state that deep state's in, I would be like, are there tax incentives for us to set up a new deep state, for us to be the new deep state for like Portugal? Like it's a smaller market, but like we need to fucking totally rebuild this game. American deep state gets relegated to European leagues. We are, we need to send them to the D-Leaks.
Starting point is 00:13:51 like, Portugal, wherever. But like, you mentioned, like, delusions of grandeur. And, like, that's my favorite
Starting point is 00:13:58 aspect of this story. It's overcoming disability, but still being in way over your head. But it's the delusions of grandeur that I think is, like, so specific to, not just Jenica Pounds, but like an entire cadre of people
Starting point is 00:14:10 who are now forced to know about. And it's very specific. It's a kind of person who thinks being on the computer makes you an expert at anything. Yeah. Like, people that identify is like citizen and then like a thing that you actually have to know how to do after that.
Starting point is 00:14:26 Citizen anesthesiologist. Yeah, I'm a citizen attorney and I will be representing myself pro se here. That's an admiralty flag. Like it's just like to me there's a bunch of there was another like sort of it's not the same level of this. I mean, I don't need to talk about him. I'm going to remember a guy very briefly. There's some other Twitter types that were revealed recently to be working in I think it was all in the Department of War. one of them was a guy that posts under the name cynical Publius, which I've seen in the past. But one of them was a guy that I feel like we talked about on my second appearance on the show, which really brings home how old we all are. Kurt Schleister is a Department of War.
Starting point is 00:15:11 And he was a guy that like back, you know, 12 years ago on Twitter was a guy that if you were rude enough to him, he would like post a picture of himself drinking red wine in a hot tub to show. you how not mad he was. Like he's like the idea that any of these guys like beyond like nobody going away anymore, which is like the fucking theme of this administration, you know, writ large. The idea that like Kurtz Leechster was still out there just like toiling in a Euroleague setting waiting for the call back to the bigs. Like just trying to keep his game tight.
Starting point is 00:15:45 And then they like actually getting the call is kind of remarkable to me. This is unclear what value. at least like Data Republican has like she uses Claude right like I don't know what the rest of these guys do Well data Republican so data Republican she is sort of like the right wing Nate Silver in that She obviously if you go back and look at her like actual predictions for the 2024 election they're like ridiculous It's like oh yeah Trump's gonna win fucking New York by six you know But the fact that she predicted it they're like she's a fucking genius She's so good at all this number shit so the
Starting point is 00:16:20 elevated her. I didn't, oh man, I, you, this is the first I'm hearing of Kurtz Lichter coming back. Kurtzlichter, again, revealing how fucking old we are again. Kurtzlictor was an anti-trade. He was a never-trumper. Yeah. I don't know if people remember this.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Kurtzlictor and the guy who played Raylan's boss on Justify. Nick Searcy. One of my first. They were like, he's in the new Reacher season and I saw him and felt a cold chill. I was kind of like, this is. If Alan Richson found out how this guy posts, it would be over for him. These are two 95-year-old men. Like, they were already old back then.
Starting point is 00:16:58 And they just got waylaid by, like, Generation 1 pre-Griper Trump guys. Like, they got owned by guys who were, like, Rick rolling them. And they were like, this is so fucked up. And now it's like, like, they've, they're fully turncoats. And the stuff that is going, like the, just, you know, they were against Trump because of the, the decorum stuff. And now they are working for an administration where, like, the White House will post links
Starting point is 00:17:27 like Gore discords and, like, they're bringing back lively. They're like, this is fine. Kurtz Lichter, you brought up this thing about how he would, it would take one reply to just set him off. He's had an entire European vacation. He was in Europe for, like, two months with his wife. And by the way, Kurt is the author of one of our favorite posts of all time,
Starting point is 00:17:48 which is he was getting trolled for something. and he went, oh yeah, I'm really upset about this. Not, I'm going to go interact with my hot wife. He would always post her his hot wife, which of course is a cuckoldry term. Hot wife is one word. People later found out. But he spent an entire like $20,000 European vacation just every time they went to a new city would post like the same selfie of him drinking wine and being like,
Starting point is 00:18:18 oh, I'm really mad about the trolls telling me to eat shit. and like all the fucking all the fucking like meme war veteran hat guys setting 3,000 pizzas to my house. So there's just like a biohazard when I get back on this vacation. Not, I'm drinking wine. Also, Kurtz Lichter of rumor. This is rumor. I think this is from either Milo or Chuck Johnson. So like one of these guys who just says this about everyone, but just half the time they're right.
Starting point is 00:18:47 The rumor about Kurtlickr was, Kurt would always. brag about being in the military. He talked it. He was in Kosovo. He talked about it like he was fucking the Korean War. He acts like, people make fun of Hillary for, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:04 doing the same shit, which is hilarious how she said she was dodging sniper fire. Kurt tried to make it sound like he was John Wick over there against like the remnants of Serbia. But he the rumor about Kurt Schlichter is that he got fast-tracked
Starting point is 00:19:20 through as an army officer because he was like the kept man of an older officer. I don't know if that's true or not. That's the Milo difference. I want to believe it. Yeah, I want to believe it. Well, I mean, whether it's a data Republican,
Starting point is 00:19:37 Kirchlector, cynical publius, all of these people, all of these people have been basically made into official employees of the Department of War, right? Because like the war is not going so great. And, like, you know, if you're a Pentagon flack, you have to ask questions about, they have to answer questions about like, hey, how's the war going? Like, why isn't everything, why, why is the everything you said is like the opposite is happening in reality? And then they're like, shut up. That, that's disloyal. You're a traitor. We're a traitor. You know, uh, armchair, groiper. It was like, uh, people say people, Mr. President, people often compare you to Alexander the Great. Do you think that that comparison is fair, sir? To Alexander the Great. To Alexander the Great.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Yeah, I think that there's like an aspect there of, I mean, beyond the like sort of having only one solution for a problem that doesn't work, like the, you know, of our classic definitions, the idea that like they're losing this war in real life and they're trying to win it by posting more. And so the idea of like calling up the strategic, like the, whatever, the suicide squad of 2015 Twitter guys. We need to bring them back out of retirement. Like visiting Rambo at the fucking monastery in Rambo, dude. Do we get to win this time? This time it's up to you. This is really good.
Starting point is 00:21:06 One of the members of the Suicide Squad, Spencer put me on to this guy's name is he goes by infantry dort. Yeah. Oh, people love dort. I thought he might be a relative of lewdort, but, you know, no, he's just some other guy. Spencer sent me one of these posts from hymns that I'm baffled by. This is a reply.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Maybe you can fill me in here, Spencer, but it says he wrote here, the only things keeping you from killing the squirrel in the park is your honor, a fear of legal consequences, or you adore its cuteness. What can happen to that squirrel when none of those things are holding you back? Wow. What if you mean, the animal crue? The animal cruelty guy that you always dreamed to be. What if society stopped having any power over you?
Starting point is 00:21:50 Infantry Dort is an active duty member of the Dort squad. Like, is he like a real army man? Is that the gimmick there? I don't know. All these guys constantly posting like they are, like, things that you would say to yourself while cleaning a sniper rifle in like a completely empty storage container somewhere. Is that market not going? glutted.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Like, how do you, I feel like the idea of, like, you'd have to be really good or you would just have to be long tenured for whoever, like, whatever government scout is breaking down the tape on this and be like, your DOD material. But another element to the Data Republican story that I love is mom of Data Republican, which is my new favorite account. That is all these people, they like love getting their mom involved. Like, Elon does it. Well, like, but is it actually her mom, though, or it's just a burner account where she's talking? talking about her. So as we'll see in the new layer of this story, Jenica, it's funny, she was like very careful about not releasing things that other people hand her. Well, today she just put out a statement responding to a real piece of journalism in
Starting point is 00:22:58 the Washington Post about how basically all of the highest ranking generals in charge of like our Pacific Command, South America, like, of the four major areas that like the U.S. military has divided the world up into, basically like all of these like high ranking generals have issued basically a statement of non-agreement with Pete Hegcess demand to keep 50,000 people deployed in the Persian Gulf and Middle East to continue the Iran War. It was like an internal document that basically just saying that like we wanted on record that we're against this because it will greatly reduce our ability to like conduct operations in the theaters that we're responsible for. Deere Republican responded to the Washington Post journalist who reported this
Starting point is 00:23:41 piece, basically implying that he's a traitor for leaking information that the government doesn't want the public to know. But in her statement that she released, it was very clear that the statement was written by someone else because it refers to Data Republican in the third person rather than the first. Sorry, the second person rather than the first. But the mom of data, I just want to read from Will Summers here. Making matters worse, Data Republicans' mom is also active on X under the name mom of date a Republican. She accused Rogers of essentially duping her daughter, who as many commentators
Starting point is 00:24:16 seem not to know until this episode, is an autistic person, as well as deaf and nonverbal. Quote, even if your intentions were not totally nefarious, you're taking advantage of someone who is not inherently cunning like you are, she wrote. What a thing to say
Starting point is 00:24:32 about your own kid! Look, she just wanted to hear about the rabbits, okay? And you're giving her all this information about Cuba. She just thought they were soft. Yeah, my daughter, my daughter got put in the non-cunning classes. She's sort of the opposite of a gifted kid, a gifted kid burnout. She got, you know, started in the non-cunning classes and took the non-cunning busts. Maybe even had to go to an entirely, you know, different school for those who aren't cunning.
Starting point is 00:25:03 And then was like, it's kind of like Donald Trump's theory of bodily energy, you know, why he doesn't actually. size. She saved up all her intelligence until she was like 35. And then she started to... And then she was like, all right, let's go. I've been sitting on these clawed prompts for too long. Yeah, I saved all this fucking mental energy by not, uh, but by not learning how to speak ever.
Starting point is 00:25:30 It's like just holding down a charge attack forever. Can I share just, you're just ready to unleash. Can I share a Jenica Pounds bit that I enjoyed? I was, uh, I was reading up on her. because Chris told me we'd be talking about her, but then also just, you know, because you got to know this sort of thing if you're going to function in society.
Starting point is 00:25:47 I read a little profile of her from 2025 in the Deseret News, which is like the official newspaper of the Church of the Latter-day Saints. The author of it was named Brigham Tomko, which I'm saying only because it's just a fun thing to say. Wanted to get it on the record? It mentions that she and her husband
Starting point is 00:26:06 had moved to Utah from Washington after they were too scared by the playgrounds for their kids or whatever. But they moved there and opened a distillery in Utah, which to me is as like business models go about as obviously a bad idea as anything that I could imagine. Like the idea of being like there's like almost no one making gin in this state somehow. Like we need to get there and feed this demand. This is what a family. Yeah, I'm trying to get the, I'm trying to get a legal monopoly on ecstasy in Saudi. Arabia.
Starting point is 00:26:42 But like, this is fascinating to me that like, like, this, yeah, this is the suicide squad for the Department of War. Like, this is the dirty dozen. But like, unfortunately, none of them are, none of them have been condemned to die before taking on this data mission should you choose to accept it. But like, she does seem to have this, like, this idea that like, okay, that whenever, whenever a journalist releases information. that's been produced by the government,
Starting point is 00:27:11 that that is inherently treasonous, even when it's your own government giving it to you because they wanted you to promote it. But then like, like I said, like the recent, the Washington Post article that came out today about how like all of these high-ranking generals are just like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:27:24 we cannot sustain this fucking stupid war with Iran and expect to have like, you know, a meaningful presence elsewhere in the world. Like her response to that was like, you're committing treason. I get, it's not Pete Heggsess that's committing treason
Starting point is 00:27:37 by starting this idiotic fucking war. it's like people finding out their own generals, the people have been running the American Empire for like decades. The actual deep state is like, hey, we can't do this anymore. The wheels are fucking coming off. We don't have any missiles left. And this fucking idiot is given clearly a statement written by someone else and then posts it under her own name.
Starting point is 00:27:59 The very thing that she thought Sarah Rogers was setting her up for treason to do. It's incredible. The only real cops to duffing this particular, exchange like that are, and I have to go back again also a long time because the, you know, state of play has moved on was like back in like, like, what I'm so like 10, 15 years ago, like Skittles would DM Dwight Howard and be like, hey, can you do a post about Skittles? Something, you know, just about how you enjoy the fruity flavors all the time would be great.
Starting point is 00:28:29 And he would just post the entire message that he received where it would just begin with like, hey, Dwight, and then just like throw that shit up there without a care in the world. Like this is the idea of somebody that has a like 2011 NBA guy who didn't go to college level understanding of how to use social media is kind of inspiring. Like honestly it's like gets harder to imagine where you would even find somebody like that. But the idea of like the ideology too that Will was talking about here
Starting point is 00:28:59 which is the idea that all of this stuff is secret for a reason and it needs to be respected because it's like it has to do with the troops and it has to do with Mr. Trump, and it's like the sort of thing where if more people knew about it, it would put us at risk. Her whole thing, the reason that she broke through was basically that she thought that she had. And I don't think there's any indication, you know, of how correct she was or wasn't with it, that she thought that she had found a way to basically reverse index the ways that the, like, federal money was getting spent to support, like, for instance, like a nonprofit having to do with, like,
Starting point is 00:29:34 resettling migrants. and she would find it, find some sort of number, message it to reply to Elon and be like, this nonprofit is getting 95% of its funding from the federal government. And he would go, like, noted, I'm going to get rid of it today. And then like two weeks later, Doge would zero at that funding. Like, if that information, which is like was ostensibly public, but which she conceived of as a secret was like the sort of thing that needed to be shared.
Starting point is 00:30:02 It's like, there's a whole set of like, like, priority. that are underlying all of this that are like the more you think about them the more confusing they become yeah like like she created this whole database the essential the essential like premise of it was that like charities and non-profit groups are connected yeah that's the deep state the deep state is also created like a searchable database of like every like I don't know like anyone who has an association with DSA or Antifa or Antifa and you know like this is coming like in the midst of a government that has like basically more or less officially declared uh political groups that they dislike to be. terrorists or enemy combatants. This is a private citizen working for the Department of War who's creating a searchable database of Americans like political affiliations and like basically protected political speech.
Starting point is 00:30:48 But like what's more is that like none of this shit works. Like none of her data models are like any of the things that she's created like the websites have to sort through like millions of things at the same time and then like don't even work. It's a process of like I said like the whole doge apparatus was like
Starting point is 00:31:05 oh, like if we just get rid of all this this inefficient government waste like, you know, the engine of the economy will grow. And like to do that, we're going to just like let loose on the entire federal budget a bunch of like self-educated dubiously self-educated, shall we say, mid to lower range verbal individuals. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Because what I said like with the internet and Claude and the computer, like if being on computer makes you more of an expert, let's say on food safety than the FDA is. Yeah, I mean, this is the thing that's great about, like, the Doge cadres that they brought into, which is basically, like, 26-year-old libertarians doing Control F on the federal budget is just like, that really is, I think, like, the best that they had here. Like, Data Republican is kind of like the cream of that group because she, like, these are all fucking vibe-coded applications that she has to acknowledge don't work.
Starting point is 00:31:57 As I recall at the bottom of the, like, DSA list that she put together is basically like a little caveat that's like, do not use this. I have no idea if this is correct or not. Like it's, that's their number one. That's the one that you got to like fucking seek out. Like, and, you know, whatever. You have the whole state that functions as if it were, I mean, I don't even know if it's like being run by people like that or like vandalized by people like that while they're driving it. But either way, it's like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:25 I mean, it's frustrating again for that same reason where you're kind of like, it feels almost, I mean, it's not, it feels actually amazing to make fun of people like this. but at the same time, they're just, like, not, like, impressive people. Like, you want, if you're going to wreck the government in the country that I live in, I would prefer, like, a little more scope in your villainy. Like, the idea of just being, like, a libertarian who never leaves your house is kind of like, it's Pat. Like, I want details there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It is, it is, like, if Gallagher became the dictator.
Starting point is 00:33:00 And you're like, okay, what can I, like, possibly say? about this guy that no one has already said. Stephen Miller is, you know, he almost, he kind of feels old hat at this point, but there's like peculiarities there. God cut him from a different cloth, but all the rest of them are like doing the same gimmick too. Like I saw like a bit of Peter Navarro on TV the other day
Starting point is 00:33:25 while we're remembering Trump one guys. He looks like fucking Rick Flair now. Like all of these guys are on fad diets. dyeing their hairs, getting the, like, the testosterone replacement thing. So he's like an atom apple that looks like a fucking medicine ball. And he's, like, screaming about Anthony Fauci into a Zoom call. And this is, like, that whole cohort of people are like, I mean, for her, I guess, like, Data Republican did have other jobs at other places.
Starting point is 00:33:52 The one thing that I think unites them is basically that these are people that you could not employ at any job that required going to an office. No, yeah, yeah. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. It is, yeah. So you know that, again, going back to the old days of Twitter. And this is, Kurt Schlichter made me think of this.
Starting point is 00:34:15 Another guy in the Schlictor sphere, who I love. David, you'll probably remember this guy. John Schindler, 20 committee. Oh, yeah. I love, I love Schindler. That's soft, by the way. Yes, I was going to ask, is he the, that's the guy that sent a picture of his soft dick to somebody?
Starting point is 00:34:32 Is that the one of the greatest fucking maneuvers I've ever seen I mean this is if you want to succeed in business set low expectations and exceed them Yeah it's like a picture of your old The model of like the curiosity gap headline but for a sext With for like for like a nude photo like the idea is this government employees Dick bigger when erect? I gotta click that headline I gotta know But, but, but, but, but like, these, these, like, any time this would happen to people a while ago, it was like, even now, it's kind of like, you know, something horribly embarrassing happens.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Like, you are, you're hosting, like, a Twitter space about how the Republicans are going to win a midterm. And then, like, your mom comes into the call and is like, you haven't been wiping. I can smell it on you. And you get into a whole argument with her. you think your mic's muted. And invariably, like, every, 80% of the people who, like, have things like this happen to them habitually,
Starting point is 00:35:39 they're always like, well, you're talking about me, so I win. And that we used to, you know, that isn't like the, the great, all the great categories of things people do to show that they're not mad. But there is some truth to that now, right? Like, there is some,
Starting point is 00:35:56 Jenica pounds and all these people, they're hilarious, obviously. they're very fun to talk about, but the joke is kind of on us, because that is our fucking government. Yeah. And just by like entertaining all of this, it does, you know, we are rolling in shit with pigs. But the entire country is a one big pig pen, like bricktop hat. It's like, it's because no one at any level can deal with reality anymore.
Starting point is 00:36:27 And it's all so thoroughly demoralizing. I don't know if you saw today, but Trump was posting on Truth Social, AI generated images of Karg Island being destroyed and blowing up. And he's like, Karg Island destroyed. It's like a thing that did not happen. Yeah. That is not, like, he's posting it as if it's real as like a threat or something. It's the Lake America bullshit.
Starting point is 00:36:48 It's just the fact that this fucking pig can like, more or less like, nothing is working. You know, he started this disastrous war of which the consequences of which are going to be felt for decades probably. and like the way it's like the way that everyone is just can be on the computer now and siloed in their own perfect little reality and that like it is very demoralizing to me how the president of the United States being like
Starting point is 00:37:11 oh it's called Lake America now and then people have to go along with it like Google Maps changed it and whether it's data Republican or this shit it is just like the all abiding belief like I said that being on computer you can change reality through that yeah it's one thing to see that
Starting point is 00:37:25 mentality triumph and it's like it's a super dispiriting thing like obviously. It's weirder to see people that I considered pathetic because of how they had let that mentality completely warp their understanding of the world and in many cases their lives. Like the idea of like Kurchley's leaving a tour in Bruges so he could take a picture of himself looking smug and like reply to me with it or whatever. The idea that all of those people have like not just that the mentality triumphed but that all of those people are now in some position of power is dark to me. Because
Starting point is 00:37:59 I think the one, I mean, you can say if you can choose to live in a world where you are like actually dealing with reality as it exists and like you're moving through the world the way that a person might, like that's, you know, it's not always the easiest way to do it. Like the easiest way is to just imagine that Carg Island is blowing up and then it's blowing up. But the idea of like people that opted out of reality now getting to dictate to some level or another, the actual. conditions of reality that everybody else has to live in is, it doesn't feel fair to me. It feels like a bad idea. David, like, in light of that, like, all of this has made me think about another story that I wanted to bring up to you. David, have you been following the saga of the greatest wide receiver in the NFL, Dejaun Love of the San Francisco 49ers?
Starting point is 00:38:49 Yeah, really, he's a freak. I've been grinding tape all day because I was hoping we'd get to talk about him. Yes, I've been grinding Dejaun Love tape on nonstop. I feel like I'm glad you're aware of this. I know you're not into sports. I mean, I usually don't want to follow sports. But yeah, no, I was hoping you'd bring this up. This is actually my last episode because I'm investing in a real estate deal with this Dejan Love God.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Because he's also like, this is a business magnate. I'm looking at least a billion dollar return conservatively. Looking at it, bro, you got to get at least 10,000. So you guys share my favorite bit. You could do the full rundown on the day. Ajean love thing. So long story short is this is a man that was scamming people by pretending to be an NFL wide receiver.
Starting point is 00:39:35 He made up some physical dimensions for himself, which are not correct. They also correspond like only to one or two NFL wide receivers that actually exist. Like those guys are bigger now or they're like super short fast guys. He gave himself the same dimensions as Randy Moss but made himself one inch taller, which I think is a really great reflection of the mindset. at work here? I'm actually, this is also
Starting point is 00:40:01 going to be my last show ever. I'm becoming his agent. He's going to do great work. Yeah. No, this guy, like, I feel like,
Starting point is 00:40:08 so I'm glad you got onto the story because this guy is NFL Chris Lavel. He's football. Thank you football. Football goat. But the thing is like,
Starting point is 00:40:19 as best I can tell, like, nothing Chris Lavel ever did like actually worked. This guy was finessing women left right and center. He's actually getting charged fraud. Him and his co-conspirator
Starting point is 00:40:31 getting charged with like wire fraud over several states. Because like basically he was able to convince a number of quite a few women that he was an NFL wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers. And he did this by like posting long videos of himself like running routes, running like the weakest looking routes I've ever seen like on a beach. Like not at the 49ers practice facility. Also on his birthday, he pretended that 49ers got him a birthday. cake.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Okay, one of my favorite lies he told the women, he said... Coach Shanahan's built such an amazing culture. He lets you do the Rocky Three workouts instead of going to training camp. I love... I love...
Starting point is 00:41:14 Just to set the scene for people who haven't seen these amazing videos, which you please watch them. He would, everywhere he went, like he would go to Dunkin' Donuts and he'd be wearing a fucking 49er's helmet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:28 I can more that to everything. Not like workout gear. There's a lot of videos of him just like shirtless and in a helmet, which is like maybe the most undignified way to get a picture of yourself. But just for his body dimensions, by the way, you said he listed himself as one inch taller than Randy Moss. He listed himself as 6-5-2-10. 2-10.
Starting point is 00:41:52 That is the most egregious thing about this. So I, if you watch combat sports, you have like a pretty good like gauge for how much people weigh how tall people are just you know when you see them in action I mean this guy's too fast for me I to really slow down the footage to get a good look at it yeah yeah he's so fast but um he could not be more than 155 pounds yeah like he is a very he would they he would if he played in an NFL game if he played in like a division two college game and he got like he got tackled, that would be like an out of the park tackle.
Starting point is 00:42:30 They would knock him through the stairs. He would go flying. There are a few. This is the thing that I think, it's not the biggest leap that he took. Obviously, the biggest leap that he took was doing fraud against a bunch of people online. But there is a type of NFL receiver that is kind of like short and slight. Like he could have been like, all right, I'm Khalil Shakir. I'm like one of these guys that runs like 414 and I'm 5,8 and I'm 100 and, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:42:56 or 90 pounds or something like that. And the fact that he then instead decided to just be like, no, I'm actually the taller version of Randy Moss. Like, I'm like, if David Boston was on the good, good shit, like that's what I look like. It's inspiring to me. And like, one of my favorite lies that he told him, like one of these videos from women were like,
Starting point is 00:43:15 he was like, not only was he like an NFL wide receiver. He was also like a billionaire with like all these investments. And he was trying to enlist, he was like also asking these women for money. as a billionaire because he was like, oh, like, you know, all my money's tied up in investments right now. And you should really invest with me and my manager or whatever. But one of my favorite lies, he told women in one of the videos,
Starting point is 00:43:37 he says, oh, the reason I wasn't out last night is because the NFL has us on curfew. And I got to be home by 10. 10 p.m. True. Yes. But my favorite, the NFL curfew, you have to be home by 10. We had a half day at NFL today. Godell is going to put me on fucking detention. Terrell Owens was always on in stadium suspension.
Starting point is 00:44:05 When Kyle Shanahan got in his car crash, they just had a substitute coach come in and just show them, remember the Titans on a TV every day. They wheeled the TV into the practice facility and throw on any given Sunday. I think you guys might enjoy this movie. I would love NFL
Starting point is 00:44:22 NFL breakfast club. It's like Ben Roplastburg. Oh, man. Yeah. Josh Jacobs. Who is the guy, my favorite football player of all time, the guy who he was, he was a quarterback who was like 6'4 really fast, really standout college player, and that he gained like 200 pounds by drinking lean. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Jamarcus Russell basically got a lean habit that, like, made it impossible for him to function in the NFL. He's the only guy. Yep. He's my Allie Sheedy character Of all the people are in NFL detention But David, like, what a preseason for the 49ers. Oh, incredible stuff.
Starting point is 00:45:03 You got speculation that an electrical substation next to their practice facility has like EMF radiation causing soft tissue injuries for their players. You have the coach getting a car accident that was like definitely covered up. Yeah, definitely covered up for weeks. Yeah, covered up because he said he had his Tesla on auto drive. Like he basically like reenacted the JF like,
Starting point is 00:45:22 I have a small pebis flipping your minivan tweet. He did that in real life. And he got very serious injuries. It did show up for work for three weeks. Then you had the owner of the team getting arrested in a prostitution sting where he was attempting to arrange a date with a pro for the lavish fee of $140. This guy's a billionaire, by the way. So the other bit that I'll add about Jed York, because I don't want to stop you.
Starting point is 00:45:47 And this is before we get to Dejons. He was the first real 49ers player to get in trouble. during this offsy. But Jed York, apparently... Part of the reason that Jed York was in Ohio is that he... His marriage is fallen apart, obviously very sorry to Jed. His family...
Starting point is 00:46:03 The people that own the 49ers are basically just like jumped up Ohio gangsters, like Eddie DeBardolo. Like that family is mobbed up. Like the Warren G. Harding administration. Yes. They're like the Furtado's in MMA. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:18 But to find himself, Jed York was like, fuck it. I don't want to be in California. anymore. He's been apparently furious about the billionaire's tax. He's like a big like he's been very public about that. So he moved to Youngstown, Ohio to get
Starting point is 00:46:30 his head right, which is to me just a beautiful decision for anyone to make. And then he's just on like, whatever, like sex workers near me dot police. Trying to find yeah. Try to get his dick off for like less than 150
Starting point is 00:46:45 bucks if it's possible. Hey, but you know what? Like this is a business. He's real. He's not like these highfalutin billionaires who, off doing like Epstein shit. Like he's a man of the people. He's getting, you know, like 100 bucks, you know. The body cam footage of him getting arrested to you because he's wearing the classic like,
Starting point is 00:47:02 basically like getting arrested trying to solicit a sex worker outfit. Like if there was like a spirit Halloween bag you could open that would have, it's like the most fucked up Yankee shirt you've ever seen in your life and then just huge basketball shorts. Like he showed up at that trailer park dressed like Adam Sandler with $140. I feel like it is, it's too, you're doing him a favor, calling him a predator. This would be on a show called To Catch a Prey. To embarrass a scavenger.
Starting point is 00:47:35 Scavenger, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. This is to catch a hunter-gatherer. And now, and now, NFL go, thank you football. Thank you football. Dejong Love. What I love about this is like, and like the fact that this work is so funny because like, just like Chris Lovell,
Starting point is 00:47:58 it's just like, he's like, oh, here's my dish and it has like the keys of like eight different Lamborghinis in it. And he's like always sort of being seen around luxury. But what I find fascinating about this is that the number of people on planet earth
Starting point is 00:48:11 who can say that my job is NFL wide receiver is like less than a hundred guys. Yeah. Like, each team has probably, like, four or five guys on their roster, only two or three active at a time who are, like, wide receivers. And this is not like, sorry, Data Republican, this is not classified information. Yeah. Stop being your doxing all the special teams guys.
Starting point is 00:48:34 This is fucked up, Will. This will be Will's last episode. He's going to NFL prison. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But, no, like, Dejohn-love, he's my, he's my hero. And, like, it's just, you know, if everything is fake, you know, like, if nothing is real anymore, like, I don't know, like, I have to at least admire the brazeness of a guy like this, like, posting video after video of you signing your NFL contract where it's just you alone in a house. Like, there's no agent. Your agent isn't there. And then he's like, when the camera comes in, he's like, oh, no, no, you can't see the contract. This is a legal document.
Starting point is 00:49:14 No, this is, that's confidential. It's like a fucking crossword puzzle. That's between me and Mr. Jed York. I feel like also the other bit of it that I respect, beyond the thing where it's like, the bit that I never have completely gotten my head around with this type of scam, because there's a lot of it where it's like, you find out that your aged parent has been corresponding
Starting point is 00:49:34 with like someone pretending to be Rachel Vise on Facebook and it's $50,000. And you're like, well, I don't like that. But why did you think that she needed the money? Like when you're pretending to be a prominent person and you have to get somebody with an 86 IQ to send you money. It's like at some point, I don't know how you square that circle, but doing it in an age where you can Google this person.
Starting point is 00:49:57 When I was a kid, I remember a story very vividly where a guy who was a part-time DH for the Yankees who later played for the White Sox named Dan Pasqua was scamming people in North Jersey and he got like somebody to buy him like a Pontiac Fierro and he got some money from some lady. but he was not a prominent baseball player and also it was like the early 90s at that point
Starting point is 00:50:20 you didn't know what the fuck Dan Pasquo looked like unless you had a kid in your house who collected like Don Russ cards and kept all of them you would never know what Dan Pasquil looked like and he was able to you know this guy was able to get away with it for a little while due to the generosity of the single women of Bergen County
Starting point is 00:50:37 and Brockland County New York but the idea of doing it at an age where you could just like Google Dejaun Love NFL and get like the only thing that you would get is a video of this guy in a helmet and basketball shorts catching a Nerf ball on the beach shit. It's like, yeah. How do you make it work? David, that was one of the first things I thought.
Starting point is 00:50:58 We have talked about how stupid anyone is who if you got caught for doing an actual we know that like most of the quote unquote murder convictions before like generously 1972 were just like you know they're like we just want to kill this guy in our game yeah like we found a guy yeah we found a guy we want to kill we want to try out the new chair
Starting point is 00:51:25 on like a drifter but you know we always it would suck to live in the 17 or 1800s but one of the good things is you could just go around you could go to some dumb town and be like I'm J.P. Morgan yeah I'm John Rockefeller
Starting point is 00:51:41 like no one know no knew what they looked like, probably the first, like, in the Black Sox era of baseball, you could still do this. Yeah, because it was the only thing never see anybody. Because you were like, oh. I think why sports radio is so fun then, because sports writers would be like, I don't think that ballplayers were ever that much more interesting than they are now. But sports writers would be like, I'm just going to make some stuff up. I'm going to nickname this guy, Dazzy, and say he's obsessed with fire trucks.
Starting point is 00:52:07 And then they could just fucking do it. Like, nobody would get mad at them even. It would think I would probably be like, thanks for, you know, like, bumping up my 1920s Q score by making up a bunch of stories about me running out of the stadium because a fire truck was going by. Do you think the Ty Cobb was like,
Starting point is 00:52:23 he was actually like the nicest man ever. There has been, it was like a political. It was like, I think it could be like a political thing. Like he was really into like bi-metalism and they're like, we have to ruin this guy.
Starting point is 00:52:35 Yeah. Although it would be the thing that they chose to like, he was actually really racist. Like at the time they'd be like, well, he's not. wrong about everything, but I don't like the way he slides. Like the American that they were telling those stories in.
Starting point is 00:52:49 I mean, the problem with Ta-Kob is it would be like, they'd still have to cover his actual conduct during the games, which is also pretty bad. Yeah, he did punch fans and stuff. Oh, okay, okay. Supposedly, I don't know. Devil's advocate, you just said, you just said the average American.
Starting point is 00:53:07 Didn't know. They would like you more if you were racist. Maybe that Ty Cobb was like John Brown. He heard somebody using a slur in the fans And he was like not on my watch And that was it dude That was like everyone back then That was like he was like
Starting point is 00:53:20 We went on this insane We went on my dad loved doing this My dad loved Bringing my family on road trips And then ruining it for himself beforehand Like he before I was born He drove my brother and sister Like fucking seven hours
Starting point is 00:53:34 To the Henry Ford house In Michigan from Chicago And he's like The entire drive Like Henry Ford was such a piece of shit He was anti-Semitic. And he just spent the entire tour of the house yelling about it. My sister is like seven or eight.
Starting point is 00:53:49 Just like crying. Why did we come here? That's fantastic. We went on this road trip of the South, me, my mom and my dad, when I was like 13 or 14. And he read the book Ghosts of Mississippi beforehand. And so just every white guy his age he saw or older, he was just like glaring at them. He was just giving them the evil eye. He's probably in the clan.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Yeah. I'm so glad we did this. Ty Cobb, same thing. He might have been from the, with that X-Files episode about the alien baseball player, similar situation, perhaps.
Starting point is 00:54:27 Yeah. There's a lot that they don't want us to know. This is why I'm glad we've got Genica on that wall. Yeah. Genica, all the UFO baseball files, they're not classified. Release them now.
Starting point is 00:54:42 She's going to release the, like, exclusively release the ERA of every active pitcher in Major League. Creating a searchable database of MLB players, they're all connected. This one player, this one player, he's moved from New York to California. Follow the money. Yeah. Just going back, though, to, like, the idea of just, you know, there is so much information on deluge. and so much, there's such a lack of consensus reality
Starting point is 00:55:14 that we have fully looped back around to it being, I would say at least for, you know, America B and a lot of America A, it practically is the year 1842. Yeah. You can, if you're in, if you're in fucking Provo, Utah,
Starting point is 00:55:30 you can absolutely just walk in the middle of the town square and be like, I'm a doctor and I'm Elon Musk. Yeah. I need $100,000 to, get my car out of the do surgery on my car. Yeah. It's,
Starting point is 00:55:47 yeah, no, we fully loop back around. Okay, well, this is perfect because the next door I want to talk about,
Starting point is 00:55:52 here's the headline, but like, let's assume it's of a different century. Scheming gay vizier, exiled from the, exiled to the frontier after actions of Jewish Harrodin. Can you think of a worse court Jew
Starting point is 00:56:06 than Laura Lumer? You think of a worse, you're like, I need to like count all the coins in the treasury and I'm not sure of the exchange rate and then you just come back to the treasury the walls are smeared in shit. She's like,
Starting point is 00:56:19 I've been banned from sending ravens to people. Can you help me? By the way, we're 80,000 gold dragons in debt because of all the ravens I killed. He'll be like, oh, brother. This is, uh, Milo Giannopolis was just deported to the UK.
Starting point is 00:56:39 Basically, he's been, Lumer. At the personal behest of Laurel Lumer, Miley Annapolis has been arrested and deported by ICE. You know, this is like one of these stories where it's like, when I consider like Bilo's career as a guy who, like I'll just use one public statement as an example, where he
Starting point is 00:56:58 openly asked what the etiquette is about witnessing an ICE arrest or like, you know, like a family being torn from each other and put to its sent to concentration camps by lawless Gestapo. goons, he said, is it appropriate to masturbate or not? This is a guy who said that we need millions of checkpoints everywhere in the country at every gas station,
Starting point is 00:57:17 school, doctor's office, parking lot to just like grease the skids of like a ongoing, of deporting 100 million people from the United States. Well, I guess I can't say I feel too bad for him when they're like, because like the thing is it is always the people in like the inner circle of like a fascist movement
Starting point is 00:57:36 who are the first people like victimized by it. Doesn't mean that I feel bad for but it is not an encouraging sign when someone like Laura Lumer can get someone deported more or less because he talks shit about her. As Spencer says, Night of the Short Bus.
Starting point is 00:57:49 It is. It's 100%. I mean, this is the thing that, like, all these guys hate each other, which I guess is, it's not that heartening. Honestly, it doesn't make it any easier to handle, like,
Starting point is 00:58:00 what day-to-day life is like all the time. But knowing that they are constantly trying to, like, backstab each other is at least, like, it would be extremely, if you thought that like Laura Lumer was having a good time. But like even in this case where she's like basically her relationship to Donald Trump is like the dream relationship that she's always had for him, which is the one that Princess Leia has to Jabba the Hut at the beginning of Return of the Jedi. She's just kind of like on a long chain secure into his.
Starting point is 00:58:31 Like so she's getting everything she wants and she still just has to like deport guys that she had an online argument with in order to feel anything. Well, apparently, like, the genesis of this beef is, like, a number of different things. Like, because, you know, Milo has apparently recorded every phone conversation he's ever had. So I'm hoping for the release the Milo file sometime soon from somewhere in the UK. But, like, among the things that he has claimed about, Laura Lumer, is that, one, she is having an affair with Donald Trump and that she gave him the best head of his life, apparently. Nice to think about it. But also, she claimed that she was basically raping a Brazilian intern who worked for her by, like, coming into his bedroom every night
Starting point is 00:59:11 and essentially making him receive a blowjob from her which I and then like the person who's interviewing him was like why the fuck didn't you just say stop and like you think Milo would be someone who's like not very sympathetic to the idea that a woman could like sexually abuse a man but apparently she was using this guy's immigration status
Starting point is 00:59:29 as like a fucking like leverage against him so that he could like get like had to like meekly submit to like the toothiest blowjob in human history every night of his life. Which is simultaneously the best blowjob that Donald Trump has ever experienced. Much to think about. That's like a classic Milo thing too in the sense that it seems extremely obviously fake, but it's about somebody that's such like an obvious demon in a person suit that it's really hard to like completely gainsay it.
Starting point is 01:00:01 Like I don't, yeah, sure. I don't know. None of that sounds like something that she wouldn't do. Yeah. I mean, the thing, like, again, we references early on that like Milo and Chuck Johnson, those are like the two guys where you have to take everything with a massive gain of salt or grain of salt because all these people fucking hate each other. They all lie all the time.
Starting point is 01:00:23 But with Milo, I kind of moved the ratio up to like maybe only 30% of it is fake. Because Milo, like you would think that after the first two years of Milo, all the people in this movement would be like, huh this guy records every conversation he's ever had with everyone he falls out with everyone that's the reason i know all these embarrassing secrets about all these other people i used to be friends with i'm gonna like you know watch my ass with him but because everyone is like jenica lounds they're like no i've got i'm playing this fucking guy yeah and meanwhile meanwhile they're they're they're like hanging out with Milo and they're like
Starting point is 01:01:07 yeah so um I recently just got it it's like a pH test for my pussy and it burned the doctor's finger off and Milo's like that's not embarrassing at all and he's winking to like a guy inside a pot of plant your secret is safe with me yeah yeah yeah you should tell me all your secrets my gyno describe my pH as xenomorph level let's keep that between us
Starting point is 01:01:34 Milo probably told the 49ers guy like hey you know where you could get you pay you could pay for some pussy and no one's going to find you He's up in a trailer park in Youngstown Yeah A trailer park that was like previously depopulated After a chemical leak from a fucking train disaster Yeah
Starting point is 01:01:53 Basically entering a resident evil game with $140 Yeah Yeah I have to get the key from the bird cage before I can access the hooker park. I gotta go see about a blowjob
Starting point is 01:02:09 in the town of Silent Hill. Don't you guys hate in Resident Evil 4 the parts where you have to play is Lumer. And you can't you can't
Starting point is 01:02:21 you have to you can't move because you're handcuffed to Twitter and quarters. It's really hard. I haven't solved that puzzle yet.
Starting point is 01:02:28 But so Milo has I guess you would describe it as like a dumb man switch. Um, so his, among his accusations, he's saying Laura Lumer's like not even, uh, Jewish, uh, or is of questionable Judaism. I'm not really sure how it works out. Uh, but, but anyway, I, my favorite thing that he has given us from this is a video of Laura trying and failing to properly draw a star of David. Oh, that was incredibly easy. the easiest star to draw.
Starting point is 01:03:05 Yeah, it's just two triangles. Yeah, the easy, like literally, they invented the star. This is the star, this is your symbol when you're like, you're in the desert. You don't even have papyrus. Yeah, you've got some, some sand and one stick,
Starting point is 01:03:22 and you need to make this work. Yeah, that's a, Christianity is the only one with like an easier one. And she's like, there's like six in a, row and she's just not getting it. She's just not. She like she accidentally draws like the gangster disciple symbol a few times.
Starting point is 01:03:42 Has like pitch forks up and shit. But I, I don't like, I think there's got to be more stuff. We've all. I do kind of believe the thing about her assaulting that Brazilian man sadly. We all remember that video of her. She's hitting on actually this was a very, he was not a Trump one guy he wasn't part of the administration
Starting point is 01:04:06 but he was well known online during Trump one this guy Mike Ma he was like an online he was like a he is the one guy ever who actually is an eco-fascist everyone calls people would call people that in 2020 but he's like the one guy who is that
Starting point is 01:04:23 but poor Mike Ma he got cornered by Lumer she tried to loomer his pantsaw yeah this was several This was several faces ago. You're not attracted to my Ashkenazi IQ. Big tits and an Ashkenazi IQ.
Starting point is 01:04:39 The guy's trying to phase shift through the wall. Like, yeah. Dude, poor Mike Ma was trying to like fucking ragged all into the skybox to get out of there. If he had a sign I'd do, he would have bitten down. She's trying to impress him with all the like delivery services that she's been banned from.
Starting point is 01:04:57 She's like, I can't use GoPuff. They can put me in jail if I try. I've never even been to Europe and I'm banned from deliveroo. Like, okay, like, whether it's Data Republican, Lumer, Hegset, any of these other, like, fucking,
Starting point is 01:05:15 just absolute mouth breathers that they've, like, now given jobs at the Pentagon to be like, some say you're doing too good of a job, Mr. President. Some say this is the greatest victory ever achieved. How are your comments, sir? Like, this whole fucking thing is, like, it's like 120 days of Sodom,
Starting point is 01:05:31 if it took place at a fucking golf course or Disney World. Like, I'll add to that, the numerous, numerous staffers of, like, Republicans currently running for office who just have,
Starting point is 01:05:42 like, photos of them online wearing a clan uniform or, like, spelling out a swastika with the word twink over and over again. Just like,
Starting point is 01:05:51 just, just like, the, like, gay, Nazi, fucking dog fucking, like, just,
Starting point is 01:05:56 I, dog fucking non-verbal autistic, like, it's a whole thing. like I said 120 days of Sodom if it took place at Disney World then there were like people as characters dressed up as goofy that that would be able to give the flavor of this and I guess like I'm bringing this up to get to like the last thing
Starting point is 01:06:11 I wanted to talk about today which is like do you remember like oh God what was it a month ago now it's like ancient history back when the Michigan Senate primary was going on and basically Hassan Piker became the number one issue in that primary well now the primary is over Abdul al-Said won and it's going to the general election. What's the strategy now? Well, a boss call was made and it's to do the exact same thing, but even more intensely. Like, I've seen no short of them like 800 news stories about Hassan Piker over the last couple days. And what I'll say about this is like, you know, nothing that you
Starting point is 01:06:47 haven't heard from me on this already. It is very clear that like if Abdul al-Said wins this general election in November, and he's currently leading in the polls, make of that what you will. He might lose. He might win. It's a be a close race. But that is an. existential threat to the leadership of the Democratic Party. And they're going to do everything possible to make sure that he loses. And it's hard for me to say, like, oh, that's unfair of them, because, like, they've simply decided that there's a moral red line for them, for which winning elections merely is second to,
Starting point is 01:07:17 like a moral red line of making sure that no one who is critical of Israel can ever succeed or win an election, specifically one in a red or purple or swing state. And, like, as far as Hassan goes, like, when you, you're when you're someone who talks about politics for living and like you say like controversial things the things you say are going to come back to haunt you especially in like a national political level but like the thing that really drives me nuts is that like why is Dave Weigel the only person who's ever actually interviewed a guy that the media talks about nonstop for like
Starting point is 01:07:48 months ago. Yeah this is the bit that it's like every like you said like the lead story and all the fucking Sunday shows is asking whoever is on there to reject and denounce and it's like this guy is very available like he has his own mic like you could just asked. The fact that he's like somehow, there was a near a Tandon tweet that I saw against my will. This is the sort of thing, if the tweet is bad enough, I will still see it, even though
Starting point is 01:08:10 I'm not on there anymore, where someone made the point of basically like, why are there all these stories where nobody has even like gotten a fucking comment from Piker about all of this? And she said something to the effect of like, would you have asked Adolf Hitler for a comment? No, no, no, no. He's even better, David.
Starting point is 01:08:26 She was appointed Ryan Grimm, and she said, she said, like, and Ryan was saying like, why don't, why don't any of these Sunday shows or any of the people writing articles about him just interview him or see, even see comment from him in articles about him? And Euras said, oh, did people interview Osama bin Laden? Insama bin Laden. And when I loved about that is yes, quite famously, Osama bin Laden was interviewed several times by Western journalists before 9-11. But also, she is comparing Hassan Piper to Osama bin Laden. Now, I know you can say, oh, Hasan said America deserve
Starting point is 01:08:59 of 9-11. Well, Osama bin Laden actually did 9-11. And one of those, like, killed thousands of people and the other is like a controversial, admittedly, but just simply a demonstration is an active political speech. That's it. I mean, again, like, this hardly even needs to be pointed out anymore. But, like, if you, is there any other, like, ethnic group of religion where you could do that kind of dog whistle? And, like, if you're near a tandem at least, if you, you know, work in these ostensibly
Starting point is 01:09:27 liberal spaces. Anyone, any other group, you just be tossed on your fucking ass out. Right? Like if you, right. Like if you, if you were, if you, if there was like a
Starting point is 01:09:42 black political YouTuber who's in Hassan's position and Nero went, oh, would you interview Shug Night? Like, she would be rightfully fucking fired. Yeah. But also just, you know, this, you know, scrolled away in there is a
Starting point is 01:09:57 great insight into how these people think the world works. Osama bin Laden, what he did was bad. But can you imagine how much worse it would have been if he had been platformed? Yeah. Yeah. This is, the thing that is confounding to me about it. And I think that at some point,
Starting point is 01:10:16 somebody will write the story of basically how this campaign was carried out. Because I don't know who was, you know, the first people, I feel like it was Josh Gottheimer, but it might just be because I dislike him, most that like started he's one of the leaders of this yeah you know of the click of like of democratic politicians which includes basically the leadership of the democratic that's what i was going to say is
Starting point is 01:10:38 that like none of these guys beyond the fact that like you know hakeem jeffreys is like issued similar statements like you could tell josh godheimer to shut the fuck up or you could say like he does not represent our party like the i the bit that of this that's different from like you were saying well from this being from the first time we did this story which was one month ago is that that was a primary where El-Sayed was running against another Democrat who was, you know, whatever, more Zionist, that like that dynamic is no longer in place. He is running against a Republican now. Like, and so this is, and Godheimer has come basically like right up to the line of being like, I would vote for Mike Rogers if I were in Michigan. And there's no reason why anyone in Michigan
Starting point is 01:11:17 or anywhere else should give a shit about what Josh Godheimer is saying. But if you're saying that about a member of your own party, then you're like, you're actively fucking with your own money. Like, this is not, if the Democrats are able to take the Senate, it's not going to, it's going to be by a very narrow margin of seats. The idea of like writing off a winnable one because a Muslim guy is running for it is, like, leaving aside the obvious, like, bigotry that is firing all of it, which is extremely obvious.
Starting point is 01:11:48 It's just like, that's not being a political party correctly. Well, because, like, I mean, that's assuming that, like, their goal is to win elections and achieve power. Yeah, I guess it's, like, much more important to them is to... Yeah, and, like, and you know what, like, Nira, like, she is one of the all-time chop-out goats. Like, over the 10-year course of doing this show, like, is there anyone who has, like, more consistently been a villain? Nira is one of the goats. And, like, time and time again, you bang her head into this problem, where it's like, oh, it's like, this is like, this is not just, like, malpractice on their part. Like this is to a lot
Starting point is 01:12:21 It's not like it's difficult because like for the party If you talk about the Democratic Party you mean like all their voters Even like everyone who serves in office It's like well no But like a large enough cadre or click of the Democratic Party Including the people who donate all the money to it And run the party both in office and out Very much like their goal is to prevent
Starting point is 01:12:44 Like they're paid by billionaires Many of whom are Zionists Like it's like If they win but winning means that like a political message that they don't support, like Gaines purchase, like their goal is to throw it. Right.
Starting point is 01:12:57 And the thing is like, win-lose or draw with, like with Abdul-Seed, like, win-lose-Draw, like he very well win this Senate race. And that will be an existential threat to these people. But like, it won't matter because they've already got him to fucking, fucking castigate
Starting point is 01:13:10 Hassan Piker and apologize for it. It's about enforcing discipline. And like the, and they're like, so that way if he wins, they'll say it's, oh, it's because he disowned Hassan Piker. and moderated his stance on Israel Palestine. So that, like, even if he gets in office, I'm sorry for, like, whether it's Abdul al-Seid or Zeran Mamdani, too,
Starting point is 01:13:28 who, by the way, still supports Hakeem Jeffries to be Speaker of the House, should the Democrats retake in November. It's like you're doing their work for them. And, like, the point is, like, to prevent, like, any criticism of Israel from becoming, like, an electorally viable. And when it is electorally viable, they'll make sure that it loses. or they'll impose such costs on the person doing it that they'll have to preemptively disown.
Starting point is 01:13:55 They're eminently common sense things that they've said. Like, for instance, that Zionism and the state of Israel right now, if you're going to demand that, like, it is inexorably linked to Judaism as such, that you are going to increase anti-Semitism or that is bad for Jewish people. To say that, like, the number one most important thing about Jewish people is this, and it's the current state of Israel.
Starting point is 01:14:17 It's the bit of it that I was sort of, I mean, obviously, like, it's not a surprise, as you said, like, Neurotandin's been the best in the game for a long time. LeBron James style run on top of the chopo villain rankings. And then also, I can't believe this is my life, smiling through it all. Yes. So, but there is like this other aspect of it. There was a story about, from CBS News, doing really great work under new leadership, very exciting time there. about the headline was something like El-Sayyad's deleted posts about September 11th draw scrutiny, which is a great sort of passive construction headline.
Starting point is 01:14:57 But the posts themselves were basically about like they had nothing to do. It wasn't like they, you know, whatever, the U.S. deserve 9-11. It was basically like, let's remember the people that died of COVID as much as we remember the people that died from September 11th and worked to build a, you know, society that prevents this from happening again just, you know, like completely normal stuff for like a liberal doctor to be posting on Twitter in whatever, you know, decently long ago time he was posting it. The idea of that story, like, which, you know, it's like annoying and it has a bunch of like kind of irritating thumb on the scale type quotes in it. But it is also like, the purpose of that
Starting point is 01:15:34 is the headline. The idea of, like, it's the trial of scrutiny. Yes. And that like, I think that that policing of like what is not even just like what is possible. I think like you're right that that is like the extreme end of it is that like there is a politics and and like a sort of like a significant portion of like the Democratic Party that is threatened by the possibility of an anti-Zionist Muslim man getting elected to the United States Senate. But the the bit of it that you see like the Times and CBS doing that kind of it's not even it's kind of the opposite of man you It's like manufacturing dissent, where you're basically like trying to find a way to frame all of this stuff such that it is like not even that it's like objectionable on the merits, but that it is like sort of ambiently objectionable and not normal in a way that like if you're assuming that people aren't going to read the story, if you're assuming that simply the presence of these stories over and over again, hundreds of them a week on Piker that we've seen over the last. you know, like in big newspapers and on TV, that like all of that is designed, like,
Starting point is 01:16:43 basically not to like, I think enforce a worldview or an opinion, but to sort of prescribe the boundary of what can and can't be talked about and who does and doesn't get to talk about it. And the extent to which that's a bipartisan effort, you know, the extent to which like CBS at this point, like, you know about its ownership, you know about Barry Weiss, whatever, the extent to which the times, like you're aware of the ways in which it is not a liberal standard bearer in the culture for all the ways that it gets held up as such. It's very dispiriting in some ways to see, like, how much work is going on, making it so that all of these things are, like, not just forbidden, but, like, unrealistic or impolite or whatever.
Starting point is 01:17:24 It is also, in some ways, heartening to me to see how little impact it seems to have on how people are actually seeing these issues. I don't know that, again, I don't know if he's going to get elected or not, but that, like, saying, people do want to hear this shit. And it makes the efforts to sort of like police who gets to say it and where feel that much more desperate for like the overreach
Starting point is 01:17:46 I feel like. Yeah, yeah. And I, as much as we joke about it, it is, this is like a horrible thing to happen to anyone like Hassan, by which I mean like someone who is like completely earnest in their beliefs goes out of their way
Starting point is 01:18:04 like bust their ass in a way that like frankly we never really have just both electorally and for non-electoral organizing for just being a great communicator the type of character assassination that they are doing to this fucking guy
Starting point is 01:18:24 I saw Brad Sherman a Democratic congressman say that Hassan endorsed raping little girls which is like no one has ever is that anything that fucking insane about us. And it is, you know, to some extent, it is hurting that like his son continues to,
Starting point is 01:18:50 you know, despite it all, not just succeed, but like, you know, his profile does grow. And he, he, you know, picks up, the more people actually hear him in his own words, the more successfully is. But I do think, the secondary goal of this
Starting point is 01:19:09 is just anyone who is less courageous than him, anyone who has less resolved than him. This is just, they're using him as, like, they want to make him like a head on the pike on your city walls. Yeah. Like, if you are like,
Starting point is 01:19:26 you know, this is the same thing that happened with all the people they got fired after October 7th, right? You may think, you, whether you are a doctor, whether you are fucking you were going to tell it agency, whatever.
Starting point is 01:19:42 It doesn't matter how good you are at your job. It doesn't matter what type of person you are. It doesn't matter what your coworkers, your friends, whatever say about you. How brave do you fucking feel? And this is just, this is the highest example of this. To take this guy and it's not even twisting his own words at this point. Just outright saying that he is a crazed Saracen
Starting point is 01:20:05 who loves. pedophilia and rape. Yeah. It went from like he selectively like a quote out of context to and like you said quickly to just like assuming the darkest possible things about him based on. You know what's doubly fucked up about that is like to accuse him of like oh Hassan supports the sexual abuse of women and children. You're running against the current Republican Party.
Starting point is 01:20:29 Right. Like that might be who's president again like you're just leaving that and you're leaving all of that on the table to attack a fucking Twitch strip. because he's like, I don't think we should kill Palestinians for sport. And you're doing this, you're doing this at the behest of a country that nearly fell into civil war because they had to, they thought they might have to stop raping detainees, a huge portion of which are children for a day just so they could, because the eyes of the world were on them.
Starting point is 01:21:00 That is who you're doing this at the behest of. Both the Republican Party and Israel as and, entities. Could you think of two more, two entities that are more just openly in favor of those things than those two? To Will's point, too, it's also incredible to see the difference in vigor that the establishment has brought to this. I mean, some of it is like, it's August and everything is stupid in August. I get all that. There's also, though, like, to see, like, how hard and how unified the message has been against Asan Piker in this and to see how, like, qualified and like, you know, sort of like,
Starting point is 01:21:39 indecisive the party has been, even on other issues that would, you know, potentially not just unite. Like this massively unpopular war that's been started by the current president? The guy's fucking wrecking everything. We're still looking for something that they haven't fucked up.
Starting point is 01:21:53 You can't get anything from the grocery store without the certainty that you're going to wind up pissing out of your ass as a result of having eaten it at some point. Like, there's any of this? Are you mad about any of that? Like, can you even convincingly be, mad about any of that. And the answer is like maybe later, closer to the election, but right now,
Starting point is 01:22:11 like, it's got to be a streamer. We've all got to talk about this shit. Because like the Republicans and what they're doing to the country and the world right now, that's their enemy in the sort of theatrical sense. But in the institutional real sense, the only enemies that the Democratic Party has is their voters. Yeah. And like, and like they exist to prevent the policy, from the will of the people who vote from them from ever being enacted through government. And so like, Asan or anyone to the left or like, you know, progressive, socialist, whatever, like anyone who now represents particularly like, and now that they've been bit several times over in this current primary season where establishment candidates are going down to either
Starting point is 01:22:53 like DSA or progressive back alternative, progressive alternatives, particularly on the issue of Israel, this is what they, this is what they will behave in collective, planned, and serious opposition. to not to Donald Trump or his terrorists or the fucking going to war against the world or anything. Like it's not an accident. They're not incompetent. They're very competent when it comes to defaming the character of Hassan Piker and making sure that any candidate associated with him loses, even if it's in a general election to a Republican.
Starting point is 01:23:23 Feels good, man. I don't know if either of you guys saw this. Gavin Newsom has just been doing the world's most annoying, like, three-year-long publicity tour for his inevitable presidential run. And he is sort of like casting himself as, you know, like the dark, woke guy unofficially, right? Like, he's going to do all these things and all these people have fantasized about. He, this past week, he got thrown like the biggest fucking softball. It was about our America's decision to just for no reason, just go, you know what?
Starting point is 01:24:03 But fuck Canada. Fuck one of our biggest trading partners. You guys have to stop speaking French. They asked him, well, like, how, what would you do to like reverse that? Because this is just, this is going to make life worse for millions and millions of people for no fucking reason. And he went, I'm not sure that I can. And this is the guy who's like, you know, oh, I'm going to put these guys in prison like he will ever fucking do that. They are going to, it doesn't matter if they win like a fucking super majority.
Starting point is 01:24:33 It doesn't matter if you get the podcast ticket of Gavin Newsom and Hunter Biden. Hunter Biden just talking about how much he, how disgusted he is with the Israeli lobby and what he's seen in Gaza. Don't ask me who my dad was, Hunter Biden, those two guys. Ask it, they can not run against the current state of affairs that much because if they get in there, I actually have to do something. And even just going to Canada and being like, hey, that was, let's put something more ironclad and we want to get this back to normal. That's too much for them. That's too much for them.
Starting point is 01:25:16 They won't even read even better. Lake America if they get it. Even better is if the standard of things, like, like, just as bad as this is going to get, because we have not even seen the floor of how shitty this is going to get in this term. the floor, once we reach that floor, that's as good as things can be. That really takes the onus off. When, you know, they used to point to like, Obamacare is their big accomplishment.
Starting point is 01:25:42 The next thing, the next, like, Democratic administration, it will be, you know, oh, we, we, we, there's means testing. If you do this means testing thing, we will put fluoride back in your drinking water. Yeah, I mean, it does have that feeling. But only in select sinks. Like, what are, what is the act?
Starting point is 01:25:59 target that we're aiming for here. And it's like, for a while, I always had this idea that it was like, if you're aiming for like 2015, you're just going to wind up with 2026 again, you know, in rapid succession. And it does feel like at this point, the idea of not have, first of all, it's not going to help you in an election. But the idea of being like, we're going to turn off the misery machine, but we're not going to break it. We're just going to, we're going to leave it plugged in, but we're going to put it in the off
Starting point is 01:26:26 switch is like, yeah, yeah. It's just unsust— That's not how— I mean— God. I mean, it is terribly dispiriting. It doesn't seem like a system of government that's very worth defending.
Starting point is 01:26:39 Like, you're stuck in this position now where it's like, by default, if you are, you know, perhaps a bit disturbed by the way, by, you know, the current Republican Party, by definition, like, the Democrats are your only option
Starting point is 01:26:52 to first all, like, you know, a worse outcome. But, like, but in doing so, you're, like, consenting to that worst outcome. because like the party that you have to vote for to stop the Republicans exist to thwart you electorally even more so than the other one does. And like I'll just go back once again,
Starting point is 01:27:09 whether it's like Abdul al-Sei, like, you know, seems like a decent guy, I hope he wins the election, but the fact that like he's already showing that he can be pushed around on this and he's like, oh, I'm sorry about Rassan, you know, I love, you know, like any capitulation will only be met with further aggression. He has nothing to apologize for But, like, they've already gotten him to, like, begin the process of saying, well, of course I support, you know, the Jewish state or blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 01:27:35 Whether it's AOC or Zerunnamam Dani, both of whom say that they won't back on a challenge to Hakeem Jeffries. Like, if not now, when? So, like, the fact that, like, whatever increasing purchase, like, I don't know, progressive or socialist or peaceful or anti-Zionist alternatives get in primary elections or maybe even holding office, it won't amount to anything. unless these people can coalesce around naming the enemy in this equation, which is the leadership of the Democratic Party and like forcefully organizing around their replacement electorally or otherwise. Because like it won't amount to anything because like if you get elected and like by demonstrating that like you will capitulate on these issues, then like your victory can
Starting point is 01:28:19 be held up as a chance of like, oh look, they did moderate. And like, you know, thank God Hassan didn't destroy this election. And if you lose, then it'll just be like it'll be a place at the doorstep of like, all those people who believe the things you said. The excesses of woke. We get to do that conversation again. Yeah. And like easier said than done, right? But we've had this conversation before. Obviously, money organization, these things are important in electoral politics. But I remember we were talking about this with AOC.
Starting point is 01:28:50 And to some extent, Bernie, in the twilight of the Biden administration, just the The Democratic Party is so hated that, like, you would think that if any, you know, if more, more than like one or two people of any prominence in the left wing of the Democratic Party, like Richard's Lib, sort of made their thing like, I'm an out, this party hates me. I hate this party. I am an outsider to this party. This party fucking sucks that they would be rewarded electorally. It seems like a, I'm not going to say an easy, cal. because he would have to fight like the immense infrastructure of the party, but it can be done.
Starting point is 01:29:35 Yeah. I mean, I think it works pretty well in primaries. Like that's, yeah. And it is. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:40 Yeah. It can work and it has work. But it is very dispiriting to see just how few people are up for it. And, um, you know, I, if Abdul,
Starting point is 01:29:54 I say he does lose, to a large extent, he does deserve it for just fucking marching to these people's drums. Like, we had no illusions that he was like, you know, he was going to get in there and do like left gallism.
Starting point is 01:30:10 But like, have some fucking pride man. Just the basic idea of like, oh, I was, I was out with, like you saw me with this guy like a month ago. And now I am on my hands and knees bowing and scraping going, oh my God, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize how bad. I fucked up.
Starting point is 01:30:30 Let's take that in face value. Let's pretend that you are being earnest or that any of these criticisms of Asan Piker have any merit in the role. We are supposed to elect you to a large extent based on your judgment. What does that say about your judgment then? If you're not like if you are going to do, if you're going to take advantage of his profile and everything during the primary and then just go, oh, I fucked up.
Starting point is 01:30:56 I was wrong. okay, what else are you going to be wrong about it in the future? Or like what are you willing to hit a 180 on the moment it becomes hard? Yeah. It's like this is in some ways the easy part because you're just saying stuff, right? And you're saying stuff in, you know, contrast to another guy who's just saying stuff. And then at some point you're going to have to do things if you get the job. And this, I definitely sense that there's like, that's a completely reasonable thing to doubt.
Starting point is 01:31:20 He'd done such a good job too in the past. I mean, to the extent that I had followed his campaign, I mean, he seemed like by far the more appealing candidate in that primary. And then he'd done a very good job, I think, prior to this, at when he would get asked these sorts of horseshit questions, the sorts of distracting questions, at turning it back towards his message, which is like, that's the real skill that Mamdani has.
Starting point is 01:31:42 It's basically a value-neutral skill for a politician to have. It doesn't mean that you have good judgment. It means that you have good discipline. But it is, those two things are not totally unrelated. And the idea in this case that it's like, every time they ask you about a fucking Twitch streamer, you talk about the trade war that is making life in your state twice as expensive and worse. Like, he was doing that up until the point, and it seems like this is like generally what happens.
Starting point is 01:32:06 And I don't know if it's election consultants. I don't know if it is the sort of thing where you can't keep like deflecting when there's 800 stories about it every day or whatever. But the idea of like, if you believe in the shit that you are talking on the stump, you should be trying to talk it all the time. when you start playing their game beyond the fact that it like signals all of these I think very reasonable concerns about like how committed you actually are
Starting point is 01:32:31 to any of this stuff it's also just like that's not the shit you chose to talk that's not what made you a winning candidate like this is it's loser stuff you can't be seen like groveling like that especially on something like this where you're not setting the terms of the debate and as we've discussed the terms of the debate are inherently
Starting point is 01:32:47 that like the second you give them an inch they're going to take another fucking yard they're going to make you apologize for your name They're going to make you apologize for the Belize. For 9-11. Yeah. Like, God. You know, and it's just like, like, this is what distinguished himself.
Starting point is 01:33:00 This is what he got distinguished by. Like, this is the momentum behind this campaign. Israel in this country is despised. Yeah. Across the board. And it's despised because of the very real things it does and says on a daily basis. I don't know if you saw this up the other day. Itamar Ben-Gavir put out that like AI-generated campaign ad that literally shows him putting
Starting point is 01:33:21 Palestinians into like a Holocaust factor. Yeah. This is like the first time I've seen somebody like writing an application letter to the fucking Hague. Like it is incredible. And to people say like oh like you're making like Jewish Americans feel unsafe. And like the very obvious point that Hassan is being
Starting point is 01:33:38 cruciified for is to say like if the leading institutions of Jewish life in this country and like Jewish politicians are angrily demanding over and over again that like you cannot criticize Israel without being being anti-Semitic towards Jewish people. Like, okay, let's take that at face value.
Starting point is 01:33:54 You should just be able to say, well, then there's something wrong with Jewish people if that's the case. Right, right. Like, there's something wrong with you. Right. And seriously, I would pretend like... The onus is on...
Starting point is 01:34:05 Yeah. What exactly is Itimar Ben Gavir's role in any of this, too? Does he not have any fucking agency in this? That, like, I have to apologize for everything that this fucking freak like halfway around the world is doing. Like, just because we're both circumcised,
Starting point is 01:34:19 it feels... Like, that is intensely... demeaning on top of everything else. The idea of like, I mean, I think that in general, this is the challenge in like, certainly for organized Jewish organizations, because it's not just a general public opinion that Israel is despised among younger Jewish people in many cases. This is like, there's a split between the leaders of these institutions who are defending a version of Israel that either existed in the 1970s or has never existed at all. And then there are people that see every day
Starting point is 01:34:51 what Ithamar Ben-Givir does today he went to the fucking Al-Aqa mosque like these are there's no defending it and so the idea that you can only defend it by making it impossible to talk about is again one of those things that like both signals weakness and I think
Starting point is 01:35:07 signals like a serious dishonesty on the part of everybody making the argument they're they're all they're already finding a way to like do the same thing they did with Medicare for all for anti- Zionism. We saw it I think this past week
Starting point is 01:35:24 Brad Lander. He went to a pro-Palestinian demonstration and someone yelled at him because Brad Lander is a fucking Zionist. Yeah, he's like a liberal Zionist. Yeah, he's a liberal Zionist. Yeah, yeah, he is a liberal Zionist. He's like against the occupation, blah, blah, blah. But like, I saw people going, this has to be a big tent.
Starting point is 01:35:49 it's like, A, this is a big tent because it's like 80% of the fucking country. Second of all, they were saying, okay, well, why isn't there room for people who are like Bradlander and want to go, well, I want a Jewish state, but I don't want all this killing. There is no way to have that country and be like this is just only Jewish people get civil rights, but we're not going to kill or maim or torture or rape anyone. There is no way to do that. there is no fucking way to do that. And if there was, even if there was,
Starting point is 01:36:23 the occupants of Israel, Israelis, they would have no interest in that. This is what I mean by like the Israel. Part of what they're into, the reason they're into it is because of all the stuff they get to do to insure it as a Jewish state. And you look at what the public opinion is over there in favor of the occupation and the,
Starting point is 01:36:42 especially the Gaza campaign, that it's like, Bradlander is significant to the left of not just anybody in power in Israel, but to like more than like less than 10% of the, the state as polled. Like this is just the idea of, and this is the bit of it that's kind of like, I mean,
Starting point is 01:37:00 I've never given a shit about Israel. I've not been. It was the sort of thing that gets sort of taught to you. I grew up reformed Jewish. You get sort of handed it as a fandom, you know, at that stage. It's basically like sort of like,
Starting point is 01:37:12 this is the team that you cheer for and here's the league that they're in. And here are all the fucking rivals. that you don't like. Once you start actually drilling down in terms of like what the, you know, what that actually entails and the ways in which it kind of implicates you to be that simplistic about it, like at some point you have to choose between the actual values that you also get taught in that school and then the fandom that you get handed. And I feel like the extent to which people have just, you know, and prominent Jewish people too, like leaders of big organizations have just
Starting point is 01:37:44 been like, no, we're with the, like, we're fans of the team, like, as opposed to the ideas. Like, the, the fucking team is younger than Joe Biden is, and the ideas are thousands of years old. So, like, what are you fucking doing? If, like, the nicest thing you could say about Brandlander, if, like, he fully does believe this is, like, a sale of all position, but you can get, you can get to where he wants to go with Israel, that that is possible. The nicest thing you could say about him is that he is completely fucking delusion.
Starting point is 01:38:14 Yeah, he is mentally ill. Just taking all of that in total. I just like try to think about that, like every time you hear another person describe Hassan Piker as a vile, awful, evil person who is basically the moral equivalent of Osama bin Laden
Starting point is 01:38:29 because of the things he said. And then compare like the things Laurel Lumer has said just this week, or Randy Fine, or Donald Trump, or shit, half of the fucking Democrats in Congress when it comes to this fucking genocide. Like that to me is, like well beyond the pale morally.
Starting point is 01:38:47 But the point is, like, can you ever imagine a Republican Party in which going into any critical election, they would turn on one of their own media figures for offensive things that they've said? Fuck no. Like, this is a project intentionally designed to demoralize young people in particular, but like anyone with a liberal, progressive,
Starting point is 01:39:07 or left-wing conscience in this country. And, you know, I have no reason to believe it won't work. I mean, not to be like, like, nihilistic or whatever, but like it seems it seems like they'll continue to get away with it so I mean it's hard to know like how to put a positive spin on it I mean beyond the fact that I think that people still have you know functioning eyes and functioning moral compasses it's just tough in the sense that like the people that are most invested in making sure that nothing changes have the most leverage and all you got otherwise is ethics and numbers and you know sort of hoping that it comes out over a long
Starting point is 01:39:42 enough period of time. It doesn't feel fucking great, man. Because it's like every day that passes like the worst stuff that could possibly happen is happening to somebody and you're whatever, not even given any space in which to feel some type of way about it.
Starting point is 01:39:58 Is that a good note to end on? You want to go back to talking about Dejean love again? Here's my, here's some tips. If you were going to masquerade as an NFL player, you're going to need like a good locker room like set. You're gonna need like
Starting point is 01:40:13 something that looks like a training facility. You're gonna need like the up to date practice jerseys. And you know like just like you gotta like seed your social media
Starting point is 01:40:21 with like some more titillating some more like authentic stuff. Like maybe get a job working as a janitor at like the Giants train. I'm gonna get a job as like a janitor at like the Giants training facility.
Starting point is 01:40:34 Yeah. You need like giving footage from the locker room. Do all the like the Ocean's 11 shit? Do the like become like the most obnoxious and Do whatever like Giovanni, or not Giovanni or BC, what Casey Affleck was doing in Ocean's 11.
Starting point is 01:40:46 Like, become somebody that works on the floor and is really annoying in it, but like you have a card so you can get into the sanctum. You've got like the key card. You can get into the facility. You can get into the building. If you really want to do it, I would say, and obviously, you know, I support anybody that chooses to impersonate an NFL player for financial gain.
Starting point is 01:41:03 I think that's the official stance of the podcast. I'm not, you know, a host, but I feel like it's congruent with your ethics. Oh, yeah, absolutely. I go sign that 100%. Start now. like start just doing a lot of like just post like wheels up and like rise and grind a lot and like sort of imply that you have a long position on bitcoin you're going to want to do that for several years while you know probably either working out or working on getting a job at MetLife Stadium and then from there you know like but don't jump the gun I think that's the thing with day is that he wasn't patient or another way you can go is you can start out like doing the same thing but for sports like people in America are aren't really following. Like, impersonated a cricket player.
Starting point is 01:41:45 Yeah. See how far you can get with that one. Working up to billiards. I don't know. I don't know if the showties on Bumble and Hinge or whatever. No, they're not. They're not. They're not.
Starting point is 01:41:56 They're not. They're not. You are at most, you are at most getting 1.8% more matches on a dating site. No one under 60 uses, like plenty of fish. but it's all about working your way up. This is what makes the Dan Pasqua scam in retrospect that much more admirable to me
Starting point is 01:42:16 is that this guy understood he was like, if I pretend to be an Italian American man who needs to borrow $1,000 in Bergen County, New Jersey, like there's a lot of people that are willing to be like, all right, that's not disqualifying for me. And you know, like, you've like personally met Danny Tartable, you say? Interesting. And then like, there you go. for joining the NFL. You know, and also, like,
Starting point is 01:42:44 I mean, you can't do it if you have, like, my body type. You know, or maybe, actually, you can maybe you can masquerate as, like, a kicker. Yeah. That's a tough one. Yeah. But then again, like, once again, like, NFL kicker or the guy who, like, holds the snap, I don't, I don't think the shorthyes would be jumping out for that as well.
Starting point is 01:43:01 You got to be, like, one of the marquee, like, you know, skill positions. Nobody's corny. There man's a long snapper. That's not how it works. Yeah. All right. We'll leave it there for today. David Roth, always a joy. Thanks, guys. Appreciate it. Chris, do we have anything to plug? Yes, we do. Toronto, Chunks will be premiering in Toronto tomorrow night or tonight, depending on when you are listening. That's Tuesday, September 1st. Chunks screening at the Paradise Theater with a live talk back afterwards featuring Amber Frost, Nate Fisher, and hosted by Will Sloan and Luke Savage of the Michael and Us podcast. So if you're in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, or Toronto, come out this week, see a movie, sees chunks in theaters. See a movie in Canada as part of a sort of cross-cultural exchange that we hope will, you know. We're trying to rebuild some diplomatic bridges. Yeah, that's beautiful that you guys are building bridges like this. And, you know, like that starts with our demand that the government of Carney develop a nuclear weapon immediately.
Starting point is 01:44:13 Immediately. Buy one, build one. Doesn't matter. You've got to get your hands on one of those now. I support LeProgram Nuclear de Quebec. In Quebec. The Project Manhattan. Or Le Projectivoli.
Starting point is 01:44:27 Yes. All right. David, please, if you want more, David, check him out at Defector. We will have links in the show description. But that does it for us. today. Until next time, everybody. Bye-bye.
