Starting point is 00:01:10 Bill Cosby. And a fan of his work, his comedy, his serious talk, is pull yourself up by the bootstraps, and then crushing, crushing news that he was this deviant, this bad guy. I don't want to believe it.
Starting point is 00:01:29 I don't want to believe it. So he's got a trial coming up. And his daughter's recorded some audio about him, you know, kind of remembering Bill Cosby, I guess, so that he's, you know, remembered in, you know, their way. So, and he goes on and on. He's been talking a little bit how he, you know, his wife has never lost faith.
Starting point is 00:01:55 And earlier in the interview, he referenced being unsighted. Now, if you see Bill, you watch the audio of him going into court now for these preliminary hearings. He's always, you know, he's holding someone's hand, like a blind guy. So apparently, he is unsighted. And Smargarthage asked, so, you know, you referenced being unsighted, how's your health doing?
Starting point is 00:02:29 My health is glaucoma has been known. to me for decades, many, many decades. And it is now that I, after my exams, registered, I am registered in Massachusetts as legally unsighted. And trust me, I have some bumps on my forehead and eyebrows to prove that there are certain things that I have walked into. Now, he may want you to believe that that's from walking, that he's walked into stuff.
Starting point is 00:03:34 I personally believe that that may be come from things being thrown at him from someone else in the house. I could be wrong. I could be wrong. Now, he was also asked, you know, he's there kind of a preliminary strike against the the trial, right? I mean, that's what he's there for. This is to get some sound out.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Get you back to liking Bill Cosby, the Bill Cosby. And I want to. Right now, if I'm on the jury, and this, I mean, I want, I want to like Bill Cosby. He's Bill Cosby. Don't you want to testify and tell your story?
Starting point is 00:04:14 No. Wait, what? Why not? Once again, I go back. to lawyers. When you have to deal with examination, cross-examination, et cetera, et cetera, more than two sides to every story. Sometimes it's four or five.
Starting point is 00:04:47 And what people want to say and want you to say and how they maneuver, and yes, I do have lawyers to protect me. I object, objection, just ain't. I just don't want to sit there and have to figure out what I'm going to sit there and have to figure out what I believe is a truthful answer as to whether or not I'm opening a can of something that my lawyers are scrambling. Huh. Interesting. Interesting. What do you say to the people, Bill?
Starting point is 00:05:29 say, you know, it's got to be true. There's a number of a number. A number of women have come out of the woodwork. What do you say to them, Bill? I think that the numbers came, the numbers prior to the numbers. This is Jeffie Bath? Didn't work.
Starting point is 00:05:58 The numbers came because the numbers prior to the numbers didn't work. So the piling on. so to speak, impressive way to get public opinion to come to the other side. Isn't it, though, isn't it? Now, Michael gave him, you know, the obligatory. So anything else you want to say, Bill, before you leave us? I want people to understand my work as an artist, a performer, great deal to people who saw things in me. And in many ways, in many ways, I returned very interesting.
Starting point is 00:07:32 But first, it did a lot of things, people, trying to give them. the truth, trying to motivate them and move them in a direction away from apathy sometimes, sometimes away from fear, sometimes to guide them into strength and a belief in what they fear about themselves. And I've taken some hits from people who are supposed to be watching out for people like this. And I do feel that right now, right? That's a perfect example of the attorney on the other line falling asleep. Okay, no way Smirconich is breathing in it. And Bill is...
Starting point is 00:08:31 And Bill is talking. So it ain't him. Roll that back a little. That's fantastic. I know. I'm sorry I didn't mean to cut Bill off, but this drove me in. insane. Throughout some of the other clips, and I don't know that I don't know that any more have it, the ones that I wanted to play for you today, but there were several throughout the
Starting point is 00:08:56 entire interview. And Bill is talking, so it isn't him. He's watching out for people like this. And I do feel that right now, right now as I speak to you, I want to get back the laughter and the enjoyment of things that I've written. and things that I perform on stage, and then I want to take other things and move it to music, et cetera, et cetera. To give what I feel will be motivational and informational and drive people to make changes in themselves, the home life, because the one quote that I...
Starting point is 00:09:58 Sustain is the revolution is in the home. Come on. Put it on mute, would you? Was he waiting to cut in? Oh, Bill can't answer that. Now, his comment on the ruling about the decade-old deposition from a case that was settled, and we've covered it on the show before,
Starting point is 00:10:24 and I have it, and some of what was said is amazing. I mean, this is what makes you think This is the That deposition Makes you Realize what a bad guy he was And many people Didn't want that to come out
Starting point is 00:10:54 Including Mr. Cosby And there are many attorneys who said It was wrong for the judge to put it out But He was asked about the deposition From the case that was said and the judge who ruled it was okay. I have an emotion about what the judge did.
Starting point is 00:11:15 I bet you do. And very much confused about how that came about and caused whatever is happening today. So in this interview, You know, Michael calls it his conversation. One and done, or is this coming out? Is Bill going to hope to get out in the public again? That, I'm afraid, depends on the outcome of many things.
Starting point is 00:12:02 With media. How many, Bill? 20. They certainly want me to address things that I feel. happened to be very premature. I also feel that there are many filmed things and writing as well that people can take what you say and insert it, and it will mean something altogether different. And I think that many times a person in the position I'm in
Starting point is 00:12:38 will find himself or herself not enjoying that which was written, but then the excuse always comes back, well, my editor did this, my producer, it wasn't my fault, but I think that they all knew what they were going to do. So, yes, it will happen and it should happen. But I will ask this question, if no matter what happens, free he wants to go, to do what he wants to do. He offers himself to buy tickets. Why would people threaten the hall?
Starting point is 00:13:46 The people who booked. In fact, the people who are coming are those who are buying tickets. So these people are saying he has, or she has, the people they want to bar, has no right. No right whatsoever to be appearing. in this place. You are correct, Bill. So, you want to perform again
Starting point is 00:14:19 after the trial, right? If you're exonerated and people are going to let it happen? Very interesting. Yes, Bill, it is. You know, if a jury says so forth and so on, they'll say it's still public opinion.
Starting point is 00:14:44 And if they if jury comes for the other, side of the so forth and so on. It's still public opinion. So I think it's something that you never will be able to satisfy all minds and all behaviors. I know the side that I'm on and the side that I'm hoping for. And after that, there's more work to be done.
Starting point is 00:15:14 I still feel that I have an office. lot to offer in terms of my writing, in terms of my performance. Okay. So I gave you, I mean, the highlights. And I'll tweet out the actual deposition that was released. It's fascinating. He talked about powerful sedatives, pursuit of young women. And just, I mean, and then you watch the Dateline thing with 27 women?
Starting point is 00:16:02 I think that the numbers came, the numbers prior to the numbers. Well, I got to tell you, not every one of those 27 women convinced me on Dateline, but a few of them did. 2017 is going to be a volatile economic year.
