Blaze Radio Network And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. A new study has revealed that low doses of cannabis, administered over long term, can reverse brain aging and enhance cognitive abilities in mice. I knew it. And I bet you, for sure, that it works in humans.
Starting point is 00:00:58 I knew it. I'm telling you, I'm pretty sure that I was ready for it to reverse brain aging. That was conducted by researchers from a hospital, Bon and the University of Bonn in Germany and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The study suggests potential anti-aging treatments for the human brain. I suggest that such treatments could eventually be developed to improve brain, brain health and combat age-related cognitive decline in humans, underscoring the potential for cannabis to play a significant role in future brain health interventions.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Ha! Like I said, I knew it. It for sure will help any kind of anti-aging brain health in the future, because it has in the past. Welcome. Whoa, that was, I don't know that that was actually low dose, but it's got to work no matter what the dosage is, right? Welcome.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Welcome to chewing the fat. According to Forbes, the most educated cities in the United States begins with Atlanta, Georgia. That is interesting. Coming in at number two, Arlington, Virginia. Number three,
Starting point is 00:02:50 St. Petersburg, Florida, a town of which I lived, so I believe that to be true. San Antonio, Texas, San Diego, California, Phoenix, Arizona, Austin, Texas, Cleveland, Ohio.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Come on now. Reno, Nevada, and Raleigh, North Carolina. Isn't that interesting? Now, other cities, I guess, you know, we're talking about these cities that made the cut, but I'm surprised that there aren't, you know, like we have San Antonio and Austin, which is, you know, I mean,
Starting point is 00:03:31 going to come up a little bit farther north and go to Dallas, as far as the most educated in the U.S. since I'm actually living in DFW now. But, you know, I digress. So Atlanta, Georgia, Arlington, Virginia, St. Petersburg, four are the top three, the most educated cities in the United States, according to a list that was created by Forbes. And to be clear, it is the most educated cities in America, in the United States.
Starting point is 00:04:00 Really, not the smartest. You don't have to be extra smart to be educated. It's two different things, really. So this list from Forbes is the most educated, not the smartest. Okay, so the Paralympics has been going on, and I apologize for neglecting to let you know the medal count for the Paralympics. Got me thinking I saw a story where the mayor of Paris now wants to keep the Olympic rings that they put up on the Eiffel Tower.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Yeah, we want to leave those up all the time. No. Even after the games are over, yeah, we don't want to take them down. No, you're taking them down. You know, I'm not part of the Olympic Committee, but I would say no. And I'm sure people in Paris, no way. We're not going to leave that up on the iconic Eiffel Tower. I mean, it's a huge thing.
Starting point is 00:04:56 The five rings are 29 meters wide, which is about 95 feet wide, 15 meters high. and weighing 30 tons. And they're expected to be taken down in about five or six days. And she wants to leave them up. And she also said that, yeah, I know they're really heavy. And we can replace them later with a lighter version. But right now I just want to leave them up. No.
Starting point is 00:05:26 No, you don't get to do that. However, then that got me thinking about, oh, we need to know about the Paralympic. medal count. So we need to pick up the pace as United States Paralympians. What is happening? I mean, we have one gold, we have six silvers, we have zero bronze. That means we have a total of seven medals in the Paralympics. China is first with 25 total medals and 12 gold. Then Great Britain was six gold. Brazil with five. The Netherlands. four, Italy three, Australia
Starting point is 00:06:05 three, France, two, Uzbekistan, two, Colombia, two, Poland, two, Israel, two, United States, one. And we're tied with one, two, see, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
Starting point is 00:06:21 nine, ten other countries, ten countries in total have one gold medal. And our total has seven total medals puts us in what, one, two, three, four, tied for fifth place. No, tied for six place in total medals.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Ukraine has eight. Ukraine has eight total medals. Come on now. Whatever we're doing in the United States with the Paralympians, we need to pick up the pace, man. This is very, very disappointing. Probably shouldn't have started talking about sports because, yes, I believe the Olympics are sports,
Starting point is 00:07:01 even the Paralympics do count of sports because it was a huge weekend for college football. The NFL is soon to start up. We're about a week away from the National Football League. But college football this passed, well, since Thursday, Thursday through today, if you're listening live, today is Tuesday the 3rd of September, 2024.
Starting point is 00:07:27 And so since last Thursday, I mean, there's been college football games and it's been fun to have college football back, and there were some great games. There were some blowouts, as always, because teams take on lesser adversaries early in the season, but before conference play starts up. But there was some great games, and it's good to have college football back.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Man, I can't tell you how much I missed college football. I know, I know. I'm probably alone in that feeling, but I just do. I love it so much. And I just felt like a real weekend when college football was back up and running. Also, I knew, I'm going to stick with sports for one last story. I didn't realize that this stadium existed, but I would like to actually go there just to say that I've been there.
Starting point is 00:08:16 In Brazil, there's the midfield line at a soccer stadium that's on the equator. So each half of the field, you're defending. a different hemisphere. That's kind of cool. So the red stripe runs down, runs for a mile down. The equatorial from the nearby Marco Zero monument
Starting point is 00:08:42 marking this imaginary line. So during soccer games, each team defends a hemisphere and, you know, they obviously switch sides at halftime. So each team defends, you know, the same hemisphere. Only different after halftime.
Starting point is 00:08:58 You get what I'm saying. but it wouldn't be fascinating to actually go and say that you were, you played on the field that you played on the, oh, I'm playing on this hemisphere. No, we're playing for this hemisphere. Just, I don't know, kind of funny to me. I'd like to be there. With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining
Starting point is 00:09:35 means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too. That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. So last week in North Carolina, a beachcraft airline made an emergency landing on the Greensboro Interstate. The FAA said the single-engine beachcraft, the BE 35, experienced engine failure on approach to Piedmont Triad International Airport. Love Piedmont Triad International Airport there in North Carolina. And the pilot landed on I-840 near Fleming Road at the I-73 South.
Starting point is 00:10:13 you know exactly where that is, right? The I-840 near Fleming Road there at I-73 South, yeah. And it was just before 8 p.m. And the I-840 is the outer loop in the triad. And the landing site was about 15 minutes from downtown Greensboro. So while on final approach to the airport, Piedmont Triad International Airport, the aircraft experienced engine trouble.
Starting point is 00:10:39 The pilot was forced to land on the interstate. once on the ground, the pilot maneuvered the plane onto the right shoulder. So that's good. We landed, without incident, we're on the right shoulder. Once the plane came to a stop, a passenger got out of the plane and stood on the shoulder. That was a mistake because a driver traveling in the westbound lane swerved in an effort to avoid hitting the plane and hit the passenger. Now, I'm laughing.
Starting point is 00:11:11 because no one died. The driver then made contact with the right wing of the aircraft, so he swirved to miss the plane, which he did not do. And then he hit the human standing next to the plane, who had just gotten off the plane. So the plane passenger had minor injuries. The driver of the car was not hurt. The plane was, though.
Starting point is 00:11:32 And we'll see what happened. But how, you don't want to be that person. Yeah, woo. Man, I feel good. I thought we were going to crash and die. No, we got her on the ground. I'm good. I got to get out of this airplane.
Starting point is 00:11:45 I got to just go stand outside and get some fresh air. Oh, is that a car coming at me? Yes, it is. And I'm going to go ahead and get hit by this car. And then the car is going to hit the plane, too. Just really kind of a bummer. You can quote me on that. Really kind of a bummer.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Another thing that's kind of a bummer, multiple people over the weekend. We're stuck inside the north leg of the arch, the St. Louis Arch the Gateway to the West. They approximately had five or six trams stuck, according to all the reports from St. Louis Fire Department. Now, I didn't get any new reports that anyone was injured, so I'm sure that they suffered. You know, they were treated on the scene and probably one or two went to the hospital,
Starting point is 00:12:33 but all is fine. I bet that's exactly what happened. Now I have to know. Oh, wow. So no one required medical treatment. That is fascinating. Because if I would have gotten stuck in the arts, there might have been some medical issues you had to address.
Starting point is 00:12:48 So the rescue effort involved harnessing people and walking them across eye beams in the arch's internal structure to get them to safety. And yet it says here, the passengers were all rescued. No one required medical treatment. Huh. That is. Well, good.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Good. I'm happy to hear that no one was needed medical attention. while they were up into the gateway to the west. And we have some good news coming from Pennsylvania. At least I think it's good news. The man found frozen in a cave in Pennsylvania, like 50 years ago, has finally been identified. We finally know who Pinnacle Man was or is.
Starting point is 00:13:37 So the remains have been, this missing man have been identified. by the Berks County Coroner's Office, as those of Nicholas Paul Grub, a 27-year-old from Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. He was long known as the Pinnacle Man, a moniker that rep was the Appalachian Mountain Peak, where the two hikers discovered the body on January 16th, 1977.
Starting point is 00:14:02 They did an autopsy at the time and said there was no foul play. Authorities just figured he died of a drug overdose. Well, they were unable to identify Mr. Grove's body from his appearance, belongings, clothing, or dental information, and fingerprints collected during the examination, were misplaced.
Starting point is 00:14:21 So we don't know what we did with those fingerprints. What did we do with those fingerprints? So they had kind of a sketch of his likeness, and man, you could, when you see the sketch, right next to his, right next to his photograph, you can see, hey, look, you can't.
Starting point is 00:14:37 You can't tell the difference. You can't tell the difference. You look at him, you go, oh, yeah, of course. Of course that's Nicholas. I mean, of course it is. I mean, in a later picture of Nicholas, where he looks like a caveman, the drawing may be similar. I guess maybe if you knew Nicholas Grubb, you would say, oh, yeah, that's Nicholas, but I don't think so. So detectives from the state police and investigators from the coroner's office had ever so often opened up the case.
Starting point is 00:15:15 And they've checked, you know, 10 missing persons through fingerprints and dental x-rays. But his body was exhumed in 2019 after dental records linked him to two missing person cases in Florida and Illinois. It was examined by a forensic anthropologist and a pathologist and an endologist, which, you know, wasn't the case. case. And then DNA samples didn't match either of the missing persons. In August of this year, Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Ian Keck found the missing fingerprints. I don't know how that happens, but we can ask state trooper Ian Keck, probably under a wrong name or stuffed in another envelope with someone else. I don't know. But they found it. So within an hour of submitting the card to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons system, an FBI fingerprint expert,
Starting point is 00:16:05 mass the prince to Mr. Grubbs. How did they have his prince? That's a good question, and it's not answered in this story. So a family member went on to confirm his identity and asked that he be buried in the family plot. So it's finally resolved. It's good that it's all, they have closure for the family. I would like to know how the unidentified person system that the FBI uses, the FBI fingerprint expert, match the print to Mr. Grubbs.
Starting point is 00:16:38 So he must have been arrested at some point in his life before his death in 1977. But it doesn't say that. Huh. All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink. Desperately. Well, after all the whining, I guess Adele is going to go on a break. We talked about her.
Starting point is 00:17:08 saying that she wanted to go on a break and she wanted to give up and stop singing for quite some time because she's tired. Man, she's had to perform and been going for, I don't know, three years now. And, you know, it's tough to make all that money and perform. And she was in Germany and she wrapped up her Germany tour. And it was supposed, that was supposed to have been the final show for Adele. She was supposed to be able to say, you know, goodbye. I love you all, but I'm not going to perform. I'm sick of performing. I'm going to go be rich and hang out with my rich boyfriend
Starting point is 00:17:43 and, you know, live a life away from you people. You know, you people, the people that I love so much. It means so much to me, but I just don't want to be around you people anymore. And she had, I mean, the crowds were, they were like 80,000 in this place that they built for her in Munich. It was awesome. And, you know, it's not like Adele comes out there with, you know, 80,000. thousand dancers and a band. I mean, she just walks out and stands in the round and sings her songs.
Starting point is 00:18:12 And I mean, that's great because hers, I mean, I was hooked on Adele for quite a while in my life. And some of the songs are just tremendous. And to see her do them live, absolutely. You know, I'm not going to pay a thousand dollars a ticket, but I'll, you know, I'll watch it online. That's the kind of fan I am. I know. But her her goodbye speech in Munich was, of course, recorded and she just wanted to say goodbye and how important everything was to uh you know to her and everyone else i'd like to thank you so much for coming to my show for the thing i would like everyone who's going to any one of my shows ever thank you she looks so nervous i'm not the most comfortable performer i know that but i am good at it are you
Starting point is 00:19:00 i have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now which is the longest i've ever done I'm probably the longest I will ever do. Wow, she looks so unfriendly. I have ten shows left after this, back in my residency, because I was poorly. How were you poorly? Is that why? Obviously, everything was supposed to be my last show. I'm thrilled, but it's not, because I still have. Are you?
Starting point is 00:19:24 It doesn't sound like it. Five weeks of shows, because, you know, it's like weekends and stuff like that, and ten shows to do. Yeah, so we've got to go through. And after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will. And I'm going to be. I miss you all so much, but I'm not going to be able to see you. And darn the luck. Man, I wish I could see you because you're, you know, so important to me.
Starting point is 00:19:45 But I'm not going to be able to. Now, you can come and see me in Vegas if you want because I still have to finish out my contractual arrangement with them. Because I was poorly. And, you know, I couldn't do the shows that they wanted me to do. so I still have to do them because they said, yeah, this is Las Vegas, and we don't have to break your arms,
Starting point is 00:20:10 but, you know, we will. So you made a contract with us, you're going to perform, okay? Okay, good. But it's almost over. We're almost going to, well, now we'll see sightings of Adele in New Zealand and back at her castle in the UK
Starting point is 00:20:25 and maybe in Beverly Hills at her castle in Beverly Hills, and we'll see her out and about. And then a year from now, it'll be Adela. has not performed in a year. And what will happen? She hasn't recorded a new album since 2021.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Or how long ago was that new album? 2019 was the last... 2021 was the last album she released. So, okay. She's got the Coliseum at Caesars and then she's going to go away. Will she be able to stand not being in the limelight?
Starting point is 00:20:58 I mean, right now, she says yes. but after not being in the limelight coming from being in the limelight I am just going to guess that she'll be back in a year and a half with a special show that's just a chewing the fat
Starting point is 00:21:17 prediction okay so we got some new shows to be talked about and to be watched so we know that only murders in the building started up last week so I think that drops every Tuesday on FX or Hulu. So that's a once a week deal. I found out this weekend that the old man is coming back
Starting point is 00:21:37 for season two with Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow. I did not know that they were filming season two of the old man because I really enjoyed the heck out of season one of the old man. But that's been like two years ago since that broke, since that dropped. So I mean, I did not think Jeff Bridges was going to come back for that. But I was wrong. And the premiere is September 12th. So that's like 26 months, over two years since July of 2022, when it concluded. Then we have, I was emailed by Braden, who emailed me at Chewing the Fat at the Blaze.com. And he said, I'd love to hear you review of Bad Monkey on Apple Plus. The wife and I have really enjoyed it.
Starting point is 00:22:21 So I thought, you know, I've been wanting to watch it. I like Vince Vaughn. And, you know, I kind of, you know, I'll give it a shot. I'm not, I like Vince Vaughn, although sometimes it's too. over the top for me with Vince. Two over the top for you? Yeah, I know, I know. I said that out loud.
Starting point is 00:22:37 But then, you know, it's called an American black comedy crime drama. And I mean, that's perfect for me. It's a struggling detective who is, I mean, I'm all about the struggling detective shows and solving
Starting point is 00:22:53 crimes with a guy who's, you know, being, was a good detective, that he lost everything, now he's trying to get it back. I'm all about that premise. And so I started watching it this weekend. And that's 10 episodes. I don't know how many episodes. I think they said this was 10 episodes, right? Yeah, 10 episodes. But I will say this. Now I'm a little disappointed because it's 10 episodes and then they released the first two episodes premiered in August 14th. But it's followed by a weekly release until October 9th finale. So I'm not going to be able to
Starting point is 00:23:26 binge them all? I thought I had waited long enough to be able to binge them all. Nope. So now I'm going to have to wait. I don't know how many episodes we're in, but I think I started episode four last night, and I really enjoy it. So it's been a lot of fun. I love the, Vince Vaughn is being Vince Vaughn funny
Starting point is 00:23:47 without being Vince Vaughn funny. So it's a pretty serious character, I would say, and it's a detective show, which I love, and especially the dark detective shows. I love a lot. Now, if you're, so, hey, two and the the fat gives it a, you know, a fat thumbs up, I guess.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Then I see where DirecTV and Disney, we talked about this last week, were unable to reach a deal, and I thought for sure they would at least extend it a little bit without being able to reach a deal, but maybe this was an extension, I'm not sure. But all Disney-owned
Starting point is 00:24:23 channels on DirecTV, ABC, ESPN, etc. Shut down during the U.S. Open and minutes before the U.S. LSU game this weekend. And that makes people really happy
Starting point is 00:24:36 when you do that. That makes people really happy when you do it, especially college football fans. Man, they love that. And DirecTV, they have deals
Starting point is 00:24:48 with restaurants all over the country to air, you know, the sporting events that are now on Disney-owned properties that aren't airing on your product.
Starting point is 00:24:59 And that's a big problem. So, I don't care. I don't have direct TV. First they came for direct TV and I didn't care. Next they came for Hulu. And no one was there to stand for me. I know.
Starting point is 00:25:13 I get it. But I'm sure they'll work out a deal. They usually do. What are they arguing about? Oh, I know. Money. And they'll figure it out. And if not, then, you know, Direct TV,
Starting point is 00:25:26 all the people that had contracts with DirecTV will go away and go somewhere else to get their deals so that they can get their sports through ABC and Disney and ESPN and that's the way it'll be. It's hockey season and you can get anything you need delivered with Uber Eats.
Starting point is 00:25:59 Well, almost, almost anything. So no, you can't get a nice rank on Uber Eats. But iced tea, ice cream, or just plain old ice, yes, we deliver those. Goaltenders, no, but chicken tenders, yes. Because those are gross. And we deliver those too, along with your favorite restaurant food, alcohol and other everyday essentials. Order Uber Eats now.

Starting point is 00:26:43 But that's the way Cameo works. So just at Jeffrey JFR on the Cameo app. And you can email the show anytime Chewing the Fat at the Blaze.com. I see all your emails. I appreciate them. I do read them. I don't respond to all of them. Like, for instance, I told you about, you know,
Starting point is 00:27:01 I have the email about watching Mad Monkey. And I've got an email today that's going to be the joke of the day that was sent to me through the email of chewing the fat at the blaze. dot com. So who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Tom Brown Jr. dead at the age of 74. Tom Brown Jr. isn't he the tracker school guy? Yes, he is. He taught wilderness survival and tracking people across the globe saw him out at the Waretown School. He advised movies. He was the technical advisor for the hunted. He's tracked criminals before. He wrote about his teacher stalking wolf, who he said was an Apache elder scout shaman and grandfather of his friend Ricky.
Starting point is 00:27:54 He later spent a decade in the wilderness with little help to get him by. So Tom Brown Jr. dead at the age of 74. I find it interesting that I was looking to see what our survivalist died from. Now this is what this says. As of this writing, the cause of death for Tom Brown Jr. has not been revealed. No foul play was suspected,
Starting point is 00:28:21 but efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful when he was found not breathing and unresponsive at his home in Kentucky. Okay. Investigators could not determine the cause of death due to the limited remains
Starting point is 00:28:36 recovered. Wait, what? Yeah, they couldn't determine the cause of death. Here's just a finger. Sorry, he's dead. We've moved on with their life. Not quite sure. I understand that.
Starting point is 00:28:54 But rest in peace, Tom Brown, Jr., dead at the age of 74. Then we have Fat Man Scoop. Fat Man Scoop, the legendary rapper, passed away at the age of 53. Now, he was in the middle of a concert in Connecticut, and he just collapsed. And at 53, it's possible that someone with the nickname Fat Man Scoop could have collapsed, but it was something else they would have told us, which they didn't do.
Starting point is 00:29:27 His family confirmed his death. He was a radiant soul. I mean, he's been done collaborations with, you know, Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey. He was born Isaac Freeman 3. Isaac Freeman 3. Is that the third? Yeah, it just says there's three marks here. It just says Isaac Freeman 3. And he was best known as Fat Man Scoop dead at the age of 53. Then we have the 23-year-old gymnast, Natalie Stichova. of Natalie Stitchova, the checklist leviza, just check or is a Czechoslovakia? She's a Czechoslovakian, okay, she's a gymnast, and she was trying to take a selfie with a castle, which I remember this castle in Bavaria. It's awesome, it's beautiful, and it would be cool to take a selfie with that castle.
Starting point is 00:30:22 And apparently she was in the mountains trying to get a shot with her and the castle and have it looked great because she's a gymnast and 23-year-old Natalie got too close to the edge and fell. That's what happened. Now, I will say that she was with, I guess, someone who remains, who wants to remain anonymous. And I guess she was with her other friend, their boyfriend, and they said, yeah, I guess she slipped, was trying to get the camera shot. You know, we, eventually, I guess she survived the first. fall and rescue teams arrived at the scene and then they took her to a hospital and then she was two brain damage to take care of do anything from the fall and successful treatment was not
Starting point is 00:31:12 possible so the family decided yeah let's go ahead and pull the plug on edly very sad i will say that uh i guess we're going with the she slipped off the ledge uh she was taking a picture at her is just, we're right there saying, oh, yeah, there she goes. I would say that perhaps maybe the boyfriend went, oh, hey, let me help you. Oops. And, man, you would talk about somebody, if that were the case, if that were the case. Talk about someone praying hard that she had to have the plug pulled. And it came true.
Starting point is 00:31:48 It came true. So we'll see. We also got news that the spy whale, the beluga Russian spy whale, is dead. Now, we don't know how old the beluga Russian spy whale was, but we know that we know the whale from at least five years ago. So the beluga Russian spy whale is, you know, at least probably six, seven, eight, nine years old. I remember the whale known as Flathamere, H-V-A-L-D-I-R, was discovered floating in the ocean. Yep, this researcher Sebastian Strand. said, oh, hey, isn't that the Russian spy whale just floating there in the ocean? Yes,
Starting point is 00:32:33 yes it is. Now, we don't know what caused the death. Maybe the Russians just killed it. It spied too long and the Russians just killed it. But Regina Crosby hug, one whale's director noted that, hey, he had no signs of illness and the group had been trying to have the whale moved from the area. So maybe someone from the group decided, yeah, we, whales got to go. The spy whale's got to go. And did the spy whale's wife.
Starting point is 00:33:05 But satellite images revealed that the Russian Navy had operated a facility for marine animals. The Barron's Observer reported, remember this was way, this is back in 2019. And they think that this whale escaped or was sent out on intelligence gathering missions. Because I remember had the camera on his back and he was he was out he was out all kinds of shipping lanes and docking lanes and he's
Starting point is 00:33:31 just gradually just floating around taking pictures of it all well anyway he's uh he's dead so rest in peace i've got to pronounce his name right have vladimir the beluga spy whale dead and for those of you thinking, man, I don't want to die. I just want to live on forever. Well, you have to get over there to Germany because Europe and Germany is now starting up the first cryo preservation startup, Tomorrow Bio. Tomorrow Bio offers to freeze your body in liquid nitrogen, hoping future technology can revive you.
Starting point is 00:34:14 So despite the $220,000 price tag, $81,000. for brain preservation. Over 650 customers have already signed up. The German company has cryo preserved six people and five pets so far. And it plans to expand to the U.S. by 2025. So coming to a country near you very soon. Their process begins immediately after death with a specialized ambulance team, cooling the body to negative 80 degrees,
Starting point is 00:34:47 replacing bodily fluids with cryo-protectant agents. The body is then stored long-term in the Swiss facility at minus 196 degrees. Tomorrow, bio offers hope for life extension, with the possibility of one day reviving the preserved bodies when science allows. Okay. All right, sure. If you have the money, why not? If you don't have the money, you're out of luck anyway, right?
Starting point is 00:35:20 So if you've got, you know, 300,000 and you figure, hey, you know, if whatever I die from, I could be cured from a hundred years from now, yeah, go ahead. Bring me back. Starting point is 00:36:25 So apparently NASA and Boeing are ready to proceed with the on-docking of the uncrued Starliner. they're going to undock it Friday morning, September 7th, 2024. So we'll see. I know that they had to upload some new software so that it would on dock without an astronaut in it because the astronaut couldn't be in it to on dock it and then get back to the ISS. And they are concerned that something bad is going to happen to the Starliner. I mean, they obviously want it to come back
Starting point is 00:37:01 and so they can check it out and look at it and land in the New Mexico desert like it was supposed to. But the way things have been going for Boeing lately, it may not actually happen. And on top of everything else that they've got going on, starting September 12th, the International Association of Machinus is due to expire their contract with the union.
Starting point is 00:37:25 So they may go on strike. So they may have 32, thousand workers at Boeing go on strike. Things are going good for the new CEO at Boeing. That is for sure. We're going to have 32,000 workers on strike. We're going to have a spaceship that crashed, if it does crash, or came back alone. And we're still got two astronauts that are stuck in space waiting for Elon to rescue them.
Starting point is 00:37:52 He's going to send up a rocket later this month, and then they won't be able to come back until February. but a big surprise that the union wants, you know, more wages and health care and retirement and more time off. Yeah, that's good. We're glad we got that under control. And then I know that SpaceX was grounded for a few days on the Polaris Dawn mission because they had the return flight of the Falcon 9 rocket land unsuccessfully, came back, something was screwed up, landed cocky, didn't crash. And so the FAA said, ooh, yeah, no. I know you've been holding that Polaris dawn because of weather, but right now we're going to hold it because we want to, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:35 we want to investigate what's going on. Well, they said over the weekend that the SpaceX Falcon 9 vehicle is okay to fly. It's ungrounded. The overall investigation of the anomaly during the Starlink group mission still remains open, but as far as we can tell right now, everything is good to go. So the Polaris Dawn mission will launch, I'm guessing, on Wednesday the 4th of 2024, but unless there's something bad in the weather that it can't take off or land in a week, they were concerned with Polaris Dawn.
Starting point is 00:39:12 They were concerned with how it was the takeoff weather and the landing weather because they're supposed to be up there for three or four days and spacewalk, and then they've got to come back. And they want the weather perfect for launch and perfect for when they come back. And then you have the actual space X mission going to the ISS. And I saw where it said in one report that SpaceX was taking up a Russian cosmonaut with them. Now, originally it was reported that they were launching to go up to save the rescue the astronauts. They were going to go up.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Originally they had four astronauts that were going to go up to the ISS. and then they've taken two out so that the two astronauts that are there from Boeing could hit your ride on the way back. Well, then I'm reading a story that talks about how this Russian cosmonaut is going to go up with the Elon launch. I may have misread it.
Starting point is 00:40:11 I just, it feels like now there's going to be three people going up and one of them is going to be a Russian cosmonaut, which is going to stay because we're just dropping him off. So he's going to hit your ride and everything is going to be fine. And then this weekend, everything's going to be. fine. Don't worry about it. Everything's going to be fine. Nothing for you to worry about. Well, then this weekend, we got reports that there was some sort of strange sound coming from the Starliner. And astronaut, my man Butch Wilmore, was saying, hey,
Starting point is 00:40:44 I just heard some strange noises coming from the Starliner. Are you guys hearing that? Go ahead. Go ahead, Butch. The strange noise coming through the speaker You can connect into the Starliner and let me keep my... You didn't know if they could connect into the Starliner. Wait a second. Okay, of course they could connect into the Starliner.
Starting point is 00:41:10 That's what they're supposed to be doing. I didn't know if you could connect into the Starliner. That's a problem. That happened, but... Yeah, we could do that, butch. Incredible. We're configured for audio via Hardline and CST. If you want to give us a call.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Okay, I'm in Starlight. I'm in Starlight. I'm in trouble. Yeah, of course we could do that. Negative. We didn't hear it, butch. Negative. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 00:41:51 All right. Yeah, we heard that. We want to hold that up again. Can we hear that again? Yeah, I'll do it one more time. Yeah, thank you. That'd be great. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:42:07 We're going to go ahead and decide not to bring that back to Earth. Yeah, we heard it, Butch. Yeah, we got it. How are you? Tell us that you figure it out. Yep. Yep. We'll let you figure it out.
Starting point is 00:42:22 I'm not going to go into Starliner, though. I'm going to be over here in the ISS, and we're going to go ahead and we're going to lock this up, and we're going to be done with it, okay? Well, now we have an excuse from Boeing and from NASA. They said that what we heard there was a result of an audio configuration between the Space Station and the Starliner. Yeah, you know, the Space Station. audio system is complex and it allows multiple spacecraft and modules to be interconnected and it's
Starting point is 00:42:56 common to experience noise and feedback so why don't you just shut up and stop worrying about it okay okay because we're going to try to get it back here on earth and uh we got to see what's on that thing i would say uh be a real shame if that burned up on the way down i know Boeing doesn't want that to happen and I'm sure NASA doesn't want that to happen. I'm sure most common people don't want that to happen, but we also know that something is on board that starliner that shouldn't be. And do we want that here on this planet? I think not. All right, let's get out of here. I didn't give you the joke of the day. Okay, so this came in from Rowdy, who emailed me at Chewing the Fat at the Blaze.com. He said, hey, Jeffie. You know, the other night, we were coming home
Starting point is 00:43:47 from my son's Taekwondo class, and we were listening to Chewing the Fat. First of all, thank you, Rowdy. I appreciate it very much. That's the way to raise your children right. After hearing the closing joke, he turned to me and said this, why is the queen the best piece of chess,
Starting point is 00:44:05 or the best piece in chess? I don't know, son. Why is the queen the best piece in chess? A chess board looks like a kitchen floor. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I don't know if your son wrote it, but it's awesome. And it's just a joke. Remember that.
Starting point is 00:44:23 It's nothing bad about that. It's just a joke. It doesn't mean anything because, you know, I'd be wrong if you were to think that would be why a woman would be. Even a queen would be in the kitchen. Because, well. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at the blaze.com slash podcast.
