Starting point is 00:00:00 Boarding for Flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes. Ugh, what? Sounds like Ojo time. Play Ojo? Great idea. Starting point is 00:00:22 19 plus Ontario only. Please play responsibly. Concerned by your gambling or that if someone close, you call 1866-3-3-1-2-600 or visit Commexonterio.ca. Blaze Radio Network And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. The headline, fentanyl found inside dolphins off the Texas coast. I immediately thought, oh my gosh, dolphins are doing fentanyl now. What have we become?
Starting point is 00:00:48 We're turning dolphins into dependent drug users. Well, that's not really the case. Texas A&M University Corpus Christi tested blubber from 89 common bottle-nosed dolphins detecting fentanyl and other drugs in the blubber of the 30 dolphins. What were the other drugs? Well, muscle relaxants, sedatives. Okay. And of course, fentanyl. The dolphins are thought to have accumulated these drugs from eating fish and shrimp,
Starting point is 00:01:26 which we also believe consume these drugs suggesting that there are risks to human health from environmental pharmaceuticals. Yeah, I mean, we already know that. We were told years ago that the shrimp are causing the frogs to turn gay. I believe someone by the name of Alex Jones told us that. So the presence in these three dolphin populations across the Gulf of Mexico underscores, according to the University of Texas A&M Corpus Crispi. That's actually Corpus Christi, I know. And it said that it underscores the large-scale studies to assess the extent and sources of the contamination. Yeah, we still need all kinds of money. And we need to study this.
Starting point is 00:02:21 We need to study this. because of, man, our freshwater ecosystems, rivers and oceans worldwide need to be studied because the 30 of the dolphins contained, 30 of the 89 dolphins found around the Gulf of Mexico and the Mississippi Sound, where had some form of pharmaceutical in their bodies and 18 of the dolphins had fentanyl in their systems.
Starting point is 00:02:49 All six of the dead dolphins were found contain fentanyl. So yes, drugs are killing dolphins in the world and dolphins need to lay off the fentanyl. Welcome. Welcome to chewing the fat. So according to all reports, the manhunt is over for the suspect that shot and killed the United Healthcare CEO in New York. Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the killing, that the suspect has been charged with five crimes in Pennsylvania, where he was found, including carrying a firearm without a license,
Starting point is 00:03:36 forgery, and tampering with records. He's also been charged with murder in Manhattan. 26-year-old Luigi Mangione was identified at a McDonald's yesterday in Altoona, western Pennsylvania, about 280 miles from New York City. Police say he was found carrying a so-called ghost gun, a firearm made using parts printed or purchased online that may be more
Starting point is 00:04:03 difficult to trace or tie to past crimes, the silencer and other features were consistent with the murder weapon. Suspect was also carrying multiple fake IDs and a handwritten three-page manifesto allegedly criticizing the healthcare industry for prioritizing profit over patient care. Okay. Okay. So we got them. We got him. Now, many people are questioning that this guy, first, the pictures of him that we believe are him, he looks like a pretty in-shaped guy. Would he be eating at McDonald's?
Starting point is 00:04:41 Well, doesn't everyone eat at McDonald's sometime in their life? Of course they do. Now, according to many online, they question that this person is the person. And they also question that, you know, he has 130 plus. IQ, takes off his mask at a Starbucks to flirt with an employee, then an hour later goes and calmly kills the CEO of a major health care company, rides away on a bike. A week later goes to a local McDonald's where he brings the murder weapon, the fake ID used to check into a hotel, a written manifesto on how horrible the American health care system is, he somehow gets identified
Starting point is 00:05:19 by a cashier after he sits down. He works on his laptop until police come inside the McDonald's, sitting there with a ghost gun and a suppressor he made himself. Yes, that is what you are to believe, because that is what happened. Okay? So I don't know what people's problem is. I know that I saw a post from Burger King. See, this is the thing. They've made this the murder of United Healthcare CEO, Brian Thompson,
Starting point is 00:05:51 into some kind of strange joke. but Burger King posted a post online that said, we do not snitch. I don't know if that's real. I believe it in today's world that someone would post that from Burger King against McDonald's. We don't snitch. That's very funny.
Starting point is 00:06:15 But my gosh, if this is true, good, we got them. We still don't know why. We still don't know if it was tied to you know, we believe that it was tied to this. You know, he hates the healthcare people. And, you know, so I guess his grandparents were sick. I mean, the story is pretty convoluted. And so I still think that it could, you know, lead back to the wife.
Starting point is 00:06:40 Just remember, you heard that here first. It doesn't look like that's going to happen. But I still think it's possible with all the information that we don't have already. we have a lot of overwhelming evidence but we don't have re i mean it's just a strange strange story it seems seems weird that he would just be at a macdonald's with all of this stuff and the backpack he left the picture of the backpack that we saw with monopoly money in it we're told is that is the backpack didn't look like the same backpack and the picture of the guy that they arrested this uh luigi Manjean looks
Starting point is 00:07:21 kind of like the picture that we all saw was the murderer in New York but not really looks similar I don't know it's really weird so you know we'll just go with what they tell us right right
Starting point is 00:07:37 speaking of crimes I see we did a story on Saturday morning live this past weekend about a 72 year old man in Florida that shot at a drone and hit it and the arrest was on video and we played the arrest. Well, he has now entered a plea deal for the shooting of this Walmart drone.
Starting point is 00:08:00 With this, he used a 9mm handgun. He admitted it to the police that he shot it because it was flying over his house for about 10 minutes and a string dropped down and picked back up. He didn't know what it was. So he shot at it and he hit it. So apparently he's going to enter a pretrial intervention program offered by prosecutor. that upon successful completion will result in the dropping of criminal charges. It's like a probation program. It can last about a year and it's offered to defendants with no significant criminal history.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Yeah, you're not going to throw this old man in prison, okay, over firing his weapon, a legal weapon at a drone that was flying over his house. So he's charged with criminal information with discharging a firearm in public, which is a misdemeanor, a criminal mischief, a third-degree felon. since damage to the drone's payload system exceeded $1,000. One bullet? The drones can't take a shot. So according to this, he's ordered to immediately pay $5,000 in restitution to drone-up delivery. That's the Virginia firm and Walmart partner that owned the drone that got struck by the pistol. The drone had been flying at the height of 230 feet before it dropped down to 75 feet to demonstrate the deployment.
Starting point is 00:09:19 of the cable to which Walmart package would be attached. He said he wanted to shoe it up. He was unaware of that the drone was part of a Walmart fleet. He had past experiences with drones flying over his house and believed they were surveilling him. He did not further explain why he thought this home on a quiet cul-de-sac purchased in 2007 was the target of prior aerial monitoring. So when drone up workers heard the gunfire Saw Wynn holding a handgun towards the sky They ran back to their van
Starting point is 00:09:53 And the drone returned to the Walmart Super Center About four miles away And he acknowledged all of this Well, he didn't acknowledge the recklessness of it I know the police say that he acknowledged the recklessness of it He didn't acknowledge that He acknowledged that he the drone was flying over his house And he came outside
Starting point is 00:10:13 Because it'd been there for way too long and when he was cleaning his pool and he shot at it. And apparently he's a good shot because he hit it. So anyway, he's in a program called the PTI program and he probably will be fine as long as he doesn't shoot any more drones above his house. So I don't know. I don't know if he ever gets a weapon again. If that goes away, the police seem to think that there was a federal charges coming
Starting point is 00:10:46 in on this as well. It doesn't sound like there's any federal charges on this, but so, and then he has to, you know, he's got to pay for the drone and all that kind of good stuff, but he's not going to be in prison, which I would think is a good thing.
Starting point is 00:11:02 And I question what they were doing in the neighborhood. They said, the two, the drone-up people said they were in the neighborhood conducting mock deliveries to attract business and interest in the new Walmart program. I live in an area that has
Starting point is 00:11:18 Walmart deliveries and drones flying all over the area and they never did any mock deliveries. They did, they had specific areas where you could get deliveries before they expanded their areas, but there wasn't any
Starting point is 00:11:34 mock deliveries or drones just flying over people's homes so you'd look up and go, there's a drone with nothing delivering nothing. It's just flying over the house. We want to bring attention to it. So that's kind of, that's kind of strange, but that's what they said. At Desjardin, we speak business.
Starting point is 00:12:08 We speak startup funding and comprehensive game plans. We've mastered made-to-measure growth and expansion advice, and we can talk your ear off about transferring your business when the time comes. Because at Desjardin business, we speak the same language you do. Business. So join the more than 400,000 Canadian entrepreneurs who already count on us, and contact Desjardin today. We'd love to talk, business.
Starting point is 00:12:34 No matter what the world throws at you, it's always best to be prepared. And you know that as well as I do. And you don't know when you're going to get sick, when a family member is going to get sick, you don't know if you are going to be able to get to the pharmacy. Things are definitely turning around a little, but we don't know when an emergency is going to be.
Starting point is 00:12:58 to happen. I mean, that's why they're called emergencies. So it could be a natural disaster or it could be one brought on by some stupid government mistake. But you're going to want to be able to get your medicines and have access to your medicines when you need it. That's why they invented Jace case. Jace.com. Jace, man, I'll tell you, it makes you feel so much better when you have medications that you can put in the back and you go, and case. there's an emergency, I've got my medications. It provides five life-saving antibiotics for emergency
Starting point is 00:13:34 use. All it takes to get a Jace case is you fill out a simple form online and then a doctor goes over it to make sure you're not allergic to any of the medications and then you get your Jace case with the life-saving antibiotics.
Starting point is 00:13:50 And of course, there's ivermectin and epipens and many other add-on options that you can get with your Jace case. In fact, they just launched an all-new compounded version of Ivermectin for only $30 as an add-on to the Jace case. But most importantly, you need to get the Jace case with the five lifesaving antibiotics because, I mean, we rely on China for so much of our medications.
Starting point is 00:14:19 And if they cut us off, man, we're going to be happy that we are prepared with our Jace case. This solution is something that thousands of people have already discovered, so get your emergency medications now. Go to jacecase.com. Jacecase.com. And you can enter the code J-F-E-E-E-F-E-F-Y at checkout for a discount on your order. promo code, J-E-F-F-Y, at J-A-S-E-A-S-E dot com. J-S-D-C-com. So TikTok has filed an emergency motion for,
Starting point is 00:14:55 for an injunction with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to halt the looming ban, because it's coming. TikTok and bite dance is the, you know, that's the parent company, will be banned in the U.S. January 19th, 2025. Wow. So they're going to be banned unless bite dance divests. If successful, the motion would stop the ban from taking place while the company's appeal of the decision by the of Appeals for D.C. Circuit is heard by the Supreme Court. The company said the Supreme Court should be given the opportunity to delve into the matter, given it is an exceptionally important case that could force the ban of one of the nation's most popular speech platforms. I mean,
Starting point is 00:15:41 they say they have 170 million users in the United States. I believe it. An injunction is especially appropriate because it will give the incoming administration time to determine its position. Well, the incoming administration, I mean, That's Donald Trump. And he already vowed to ban TikTok due to its ties with the Chinese Communist Party. So I don't know what that's going to do to change that. But we'll see. The three judge panel from the appeals court upheld the TikTok divest or ban law.
Starting point is 00:16:17 The panel found that the divest or ban law was not in violation of the First Amendment, although TikTok obviously has argued the ban is unconstitutional. So we'll see what happens, but as of right now, TikTok will be banned on January 19th, 2025, unless something else happens. So not sure what that could mean. There could be some serious TikTok withdrawals going on after January 19th. And I do not have a TikTok account. Many people in my world do have TikTok accounts, but I do not have one. I have an X account at Jeffrey JFR.
Starting point is 00:16:57 I have a Facebook account, Jeff Fisher Radio. I have an Instagram account, Jeff Fisher Radio. I have a YouTube page, Chewing the Fat, with Jeff Fisher. I have a cameo account at JeffyJFR on Cameo. You can always order a cameo from me. That, of course, is not free, but it is worth every darn penny. At Jeffey JFR on the Cameo app. I have an email, just like everyone,
Starting point is 00:17:24 Chewing the fat at the blaze.com. Chewing the fat at the blaze.com. I see them all. Thank you very much for your emails. I do have a couple of jokes of the day that people have been sending me working on it. Good. I'm glad to see your upwriting
Starting point is 00:17:37 and attempting your jokes. I do have a story from a man today who sent me an email that I find very fascinating and he wanted me to comment on the story and I will before this show is over. So you can always email the show Chewing the Fat at the blaze.com. I do not have a tick. account though. I know and I probably should because I some of the accounts man are just amazing to me,
Starting point is 00:18:00 just amazing to me, but I don't have one and you know why. I fought it forever when they started making the list of what, you know, having a TikTok account does and how it backs back into China with all your information and they have, they know everything about you. I just decided not to. And I said no to having a TikTok account in my house. Yeah, yeah, man, when I put my foot down, man, does it count? Because, yeah, man, I rule. I rule. But sure, there's TikTok accounts in my house now.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Of course there is. Another case that went before the judges in Nevada, commissioner has ruled against Rupert Murdoch's legal attempt to alter his family trust so that his eldest son Lackland will control the family's media and business empire when Rupert passes away. So there's going to be an appeal, of course, but the decision ensures the Murdoch's media empire will be left equally to his four oldest children who are not ideologically aligned with the conservative views of Rupert and Lackland. I would say that Lackland really isn't as much as Rupert was, but whatever. That's...
Starting point is 00:19:23 that's for them to decide. So I guess James was once considered the contender to take over the family business, but he resigned from the board of News Corp in 2020, citing disagreements over editorial content published by the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post. The commissioner ruled against Rupert and Lackland, arguing that he acted in bad faith by trying to alter the terms of the trust, according to the New York Times. Media outlets petitioned for access to the trial and the judge said, now get out of here.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Sorry. This is a private matter. So the spokesperson for Fox Corp did not immediately respond. Apparently, you know, they started looking at all of this after the Succession episode. Because the Succession episode, you know, well, episode, the Succession Series was loosely based on the Murdoch family. And so then once the man dies and the family fights over the bits and pieces of the company, they needed to get their crap together and find out who what's going to happen when Rupert dies. And this is what they, you know, they believe they all have share.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Elizabeth James Prudence, equal beneficiaries with Lachland of the trust, which has about 40% of the voting stakes in News Corp and Fox Corp. So we'll see. I know that they are appealing the decision, so we'll see what happens with that. But if Rupert happens to pass away, you know, tomorrow, if he ends up in who died today, tomorrow, it goes to all four of them.
Starting point is 00:21:05 And then watch the fun begin. All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. You know, anytime in life you have to make a big change, it's hard. and that's especially true when you're planning to buy or sell a home. It's really complicated. It takes a lot of time, a lot of jumping through hoops. And, of course, the stakes are just about as high as they ever get in terms of financial decisions that you make.
Starting point is 00:21:39 So obviously, you need a real estate agent to help you with all of this. But what you don't want is just some ordinary agent who does it on the side. You want the best. And real estate agents, I trust, pairs you with the best. Yes, the top selling real estate agents in your area, someone who knows the best practices, someone who understands the crazy housing market, someone who's a team leader and a closer,
Starting point is 00:22:04 someone you can trust. Ha, it's in the name. So if you're thinking about buying or selling a home or both, get in touch with them. You'll see exactly what I mean. Real estate agents I trust. Yes, the name does say it all. Go to real estate agents.itrust.com.
Starting point is 00:22:21 Real estate agents I trust. Yay for Google. Google has unveiled a new chip that it claims takes five minutes to solve a problem that would currently take the world's fastest supercomputer 10 septillion years to complete. 10 septillion. Now the number that they print out here is 10 with 25 zeros. So I guess that's a septillion. Okay. So what they believe, they debuted Willow.
Starting point is 00:22:57 It's a new quantum chip that the company said needs less than five minutes to complete a test problem. That, as I said, would take 10 septillion years to figure out. So the more processing bits called quibits that a quantum computer has, the more powerful it is. But according to this, the more errors that occur. Wow. doing errors? Because for the first time in quantum computing, adding more quibbets to Willow
Starting point is 00:23:26 reduced the error rate, which is a critical step, yeah, towards scaling this type of computing. So Google's Quantum AI Lab said that this is the most powerful that they've developed the Willow with the quibbits. Okay, so regular computers translate
Starting point is 00:23:47 what we put into it, you know, binary bits represented by zeros and ones. Quantum computers, quibbits, exist in multiple states at once. Okay. Exponentially speeds up problem solving, which can expedite drug trials, AI testing, and a host of other innovations. Sure, sure it can. So a post-quantum world, apparently, according to this, could present cyberdial. dangers. What? Quantum computers with enough power could potentially crack even the strongest
Starting point is 00:24:23 encryption, which is why Apple announced in February that it was attempting to quantum-proof iMessage encryption. How's that working out? Have we heard from Apple? Is there? Are they still working on that? And governments around the world are dumping billions into research quantum computing that, you know, they were saying, well, it could change everyone's lives. Yes. Yes, it could. So we've got that going for us. And then OpenAI has released their text to video tool. And this is what was what Hollywood was, you know, been shaking in their boots. In fact, this is believed to be why Tyler Perry paused his plans to build and expand his movie studios in Georgia after he saw a demo of this tool in February.
Starting point is 00:25:15 So it was released to chat. GPD and pro subscribers in an updated form known as the SORA Turbo, users can provide the tool with a text prompt from which it will then generate a high-resolution video clip up to 20 seconds long. OpenAI warned that SORA has many limitations. Uh-huh. It said it is releasing the program anyway to give society time to explore the possibilities. Isn't that nice? That is nice of them. We want to explore the possibilities because it does come with many limitations.
Starting point is 00:25:52 And we're going to release it anyway because we want you guys to see what those limitations are and then maybe you can fix them. So the text of video OpenAI is out there and available and being used. Yeah, good times. Good times. More good news for Oppenheimer star Emma Dumont. You may remember her. she played Cillian Murphy's sister-in-law,
Starting point is 00:26:19 Jackie, I know, but it's still a role in Oppenheimer. Now she has announced a name change. And I just want you to know that Emma is, well, just to friends and family. She's still going to be Emma Dumont, you know, on the film credits and in movies and when you see her interviewed.
Starting point is 00:26:41 But to friends and family, she's going to be called Nick. That's what she said, or he said, I don't know. She's a they, them. She is now a trans-masculine, non-binary. And she's going to be going by Nick Dumont to, you know, friends and family. But as when she acts, he, they, when they, them act, they're going to act under the name of Emma Dumont. Now, the change in names as just, I guess, you know,
Starting point is 00:27:18 because she wants to be Nick. I will say the pictures of Emma now do seem less breastage than the older pictures. So I'm guessing she had surgery to de-breast herself, but it doesn't say that in this story. I'm just guessing that that's the case. So she is a trans, masculine, non-binary person that is still going to work under her stage name. under the stage name, not her, the stage name, Emma Dumont. But then, with friends and family, be called Nick. Okay, okay, thanks.
Starting point is 00:28:00 I don't know how much work they, them, are going to get now, I guess. The transmasculine is used to refer to several different groups of people, all of whom were assigned female at birth, but identify as masculinity, including transgender males, and A-F-A-B-N-B-Nbinary. So I guess she posted on her Instagram stories that she had a slideshow herself but that is not really publicly addressed coming out.
Starting point is 00:28:32 I'm pretty sure the pictures are showing that how she is, you know, they, how Nick, how Emma has debrusted herself because this picture here that I see of her from an Instagram post does not look the same as the other red carpet pictures of Emma.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Now, maybe the red carpet pictures of Emma are fake breastages, very possible. And, you know, she didn't have any breastages to begin with. I don't know. She's 30 years old. I'm sorry. They, Nick, no, Emma. She, I'm talking about her work.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Emma. As, uh, 30 years old and she's been in all kinds of movies. She's at 20, I think she's got 25 films to her credit already. We'll see how that goes. I know she's expected in a new thriller New Me and the poster credited Emma Dumont as the lead
Starting point is 00:29:28 actor. So we'll have that to look forward to. There's no scheduled release date on that movie. The New Me crediting Emma Dumont as the lead actor. So just know that when you see Emma DeMont out and about and Emma is with
Starting point is 00:29:44 family and friends, that's Nick That's Nick It's not Emma But when you see her You know in the movies On the movie screen Or you know
Starting point is 00:29:53 On a talk show Or walk on the red carpet That's Emma Okay that's Emma Unless you're friends and family Then it can be Nick as well But most of us are not friends With Emma
Starting point is 00:30:05 Demont, the actress So we have to Call her Call them They them Umah Umah While she's
Starting point is 00:30:15 out and about because we're not friends or family and we can't call they them Nick I know I know don't even look at me like that I understand Marshall's buyers travel far and wide hustling for
Starting point is 00:30:45 great deals on amazing gifts so you don't have to they've bagged this season's Italian leather handbags designer handpicked the finest sweaters from the rest Ooh, cashmere. Landed makeup pallets from the brands you love.
Starting point is 00:31:00 Brushes too. And hustled all those wishless topping toys. So plush. Our buyers have got you covered. Marshals, we get the deals. You gift the good stuff. So Haitian gangs are still in the news. I see a story today talking about a Haitian gang, a Haitian gang, one of them,
Starting point is 00:31:20 killed 180 people, most elderly in the capital. of Port of Prince, the gang leader reportedly targeted the group after consulting a voodoo priest who blamed them for giving the leader's son a severe illness through witchcraft. Now, the city is, you know, just a part of the Port of Prince suburbs. So they apparently carried out this massacre into this neighborhood with all the elderly people because the gang leader's child died on Saturday. And the voodoo priest said it was because of these old people that made him sick. And so he killed them all, at least 100 people with machetes and knives.
Starting point is 00:32:12 So Monel McConnell Felix, the leader of the Wharf Jeremy gang, ordered the murders. and all the victims of the attack were over 60 years old. So good times in Haiti, man. I mean, they've so far. I mean, thousands. We've got at least, at least 5,000 day report have been murdered, but I would probably venture to say that that number is a lot higher. And man, nothing says, let's go to Haiti,
Starting point is 00:32:42 like gang leaders killing all the people in the neighborhoods. Am I right? Of course I am. I mean, we can't even get planes to get in. to Haiti now, that I'm sure, I'm pretty sure that the cruise industry isn't going to Haiti. Although, I don't know. They claimed that the cruise industry is back. Is it?
Starting point is 00:33:04 I mean, they talked about, you know, the industry was on its knees during COVID, right? I was looking at the projected people cruising. And from 2020, they claimed they had 5.8 million cruising. And 2021 had 4.8 million cruising. And then in 2022, they were back up to over 20 million. And then in 2023, they were back up to over 31 million. And now this year, they're back up over 34 million. And they claim in the next three years it's going to continue to go up.
Starting point is 00:33:34 They'll be almost at 40 million people cruising in 2027. Okay. If you say so, I mean, I know Virgin Voyages just launched their annual pass for 120,000. I think we talked about that. as Disney plans, their huge cruise expansion, right? The Virgin thing,
Starting point is 00:33:54 I think you can get in that, and that's a four-year plan, right? So, yeah, the perpetual world cruise is up to four years so that you could miss the Trump presidency. Yeah, we talked about that. Get out there now
Starting point is 00:34:08 because you hate Donald Trump so much. I got a thing in the mail that I guess is for me to believe that the cruise line industry is back. It's a big postcard. It's got on the front cover. It's got the carnival, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity X cruises. You're invited, it says. And then there's a bunch of small words at the bottom, which we will
Starting point is 00:34:28 get to in a moment. But then you turn it over. And it says, you and your spouse or partner are cordially invited to attend the 2024 cruise and excursion showcase. Join us for a fun-filled travel and cruise showcase attempting to get America cruising again. In exchange for your time and opinion, you'll receive a complimentary seven-day, six-night cruise for two adults aboard your choice of a major cruise line. The cruise is valid from most ports within the U.S. traveling to the Caribbean. Or is there a Caribbean. In addition, book your appointment within 48 hours of receiving this invitation and receive a bonus gift. Ooh, I've already missed that. But I bet if I asked for it, and I said, hey, what about that bonus gift of two round-trip airline tickets, including
Starting point is 00:35:11 two-night's hotel stay? They would probably give it to me. This offer includes a space, Stateroom, all meals, snacks, on board, activities, and entertainment for two adults. Cruise vouchers are limited, and this offer expires in seven days. Ooh. So call today and mention the RSVP code on the invitation. This is not a time share or real estate solicitation. The first 50 callers will also receive a $100 dining savings card good at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Longhorn Steakhouse, Bar Louie, and many more.
Starting point is 00:35:45 All I have to do, is call this toll-free number and I'm in. And I'll just have to listen. My time and my opinion on cruises and I get that free stuff. Now, they claim, you know, cruise lines are back, right? Or where the top of the line, Disney's expanding, Virgin Voyages are expanding. Now, at the bottom of this card,
Starting point is 00:36:05 it says I have to call this number for details. And the cruise package is really small letters at the bottom, which, you know, who reads all that stuff? The cruise package is valid for two adults, additional guests and upgraded cabin categories may be added for an additional fee. I bet. The recipient is responsible for port fees, taxes, and agency fees. Wonder how much that is.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Certain restrictions apply. Uh-huh. All trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Any logo design, images, or any other copyright property are used for illustrative purposes only. The sponsor of this offer is not a. affiliated, nor an agent of Royal Caribbean Princess Carnival or Celebrity Cruise Lines. Huh. So it has nothing to do with these cruise lines, and they're giving it away.
Starting point is 00:36:59 This is such a scam. And I don't know where they get their money. I guess if I give them my credit card for, you know, additional expenses, then they tag on the port fees, taxes, agency fees, and anything else that they additionally want to charge me. But I'll get the bonus gift of two airline tickets, uh-huh, and hotel stays. So this is how back the cruise line industry is back, because we've got people out there trying to, that may not be a scam.
Starting point is 00:37:32 It may not be a scam. I have no idea whether this is a scam or not. But I will say, it does appear to me to be a scam. And so if you get something like this in the mail, be sure to read every word. Don't let yourself get scammed because I know, you know, it sounds good. Who doesn't want to take a cruise to the Caribbean and then just, you know, take an offshoot to Haiti these days? Right?

How about that Monday night football game last night, huh? The Dallas Cowboys are losing to the Cincinnati Bengals. And I watched a little bit of the Simpsons broadcast on ESPN Plus.
Starting point is 00:38:54 I did not go over to Disney Plus for it, but I did watch it on ESPN Plus. I mean, it was cute, I guess. If you're a Simpson fan and the way they were doing it in conjunction with the actual game was cute. Then, you know, ESPN 2 had the Peyton Eli broadcast, which I think was the last regular season broadcast of that. And they have all their guests. I love the Peyton and Eli broadcast of the game,
Starting point is 00:39:22 but they jam it with too many guests. I don't think there needs to be guests. They obviously do, and they did not ask me for my opinion. But I don't think they need guests. I think I'd rather watch the game with them discussing the game. And I'm sure that they think that that's boring now. So you get their guests. And, you know, once in a while, maybe the guests are worth having on.
Starting point is 00:39:45 But for the most part, it just takes away from the game. It drives me crazy. So I end up watching the regular broadcast with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, which I don't mind either one of those. They're fine. And if I don't want to hear what they're saying, turn it down and just watch the game, which is what I'm here for to begin with.
Starting point is 00:40:00 And that's the whole thing behind the Simpsons thing, too. And, you know, the Nickelodeon thing is just, I'd rather watch the game. That's why I want to watch the game. But I guess it brings in new viewers to the game. So, you know, whatever. NFL, you do you. And they will.
Starting point is 00:40:15 And they've been doing a pretty good job of it. I don't know that they actually need me. Okay, so then I want to talk to you about the one email that I received from Steve, a listener. Steve from Michigan. Hi, Steve, how you doing? Thank you for your email at chewing the fat at the blaze.com. Yes, I do see all your emails.
Starting point is 00:40:35 Now, Steve asked me a question and he tells me a story. Now, he says in his email, true story. Okay, if you say so, if you say so. I'm going to read you the story. And then we'll go back and think about it for just a second. Twelve years ago, when my daughter was two years old, her mother's boyfriend beat my daughter so bad that over half her brain died. After a year in the hospital and rehab, I was finally able to bring her home, knowing she'll always be special needs.
Starting point is 00:41:06 So when she was four, I took her to the grocery store, and at that time, she had a habit of reaching for people. And when my back was turned, that's exactly what she did. She grabbed an old man walking by the arm, and I apologize, and he started talking to her, She put her arms out for a hug, and he politely gave her one. And again, I apologize. And he stepped back, giving me a puzzled look, pointing at her and asked, is there something wrong with her? Or is it the fact that she's a blonde? I'm laughing.
Starting point is 00:41:42 I shouldn't laugh. I just read the story. The story goes on. I laughed so damn hard. And I replied, yeah, there's something wrong with her, but being blonde sure isn't helping. that's a funny line that's a funny line now according to Steve
Starting point is 00:42:00 his wife thinks that he's an asshole and tells him to this day every time they go to that store he laughs out loud thinking of the story and she always says will you stop telling that story there's no way you can stop telling that story and Steve asked for my opinion
Starting point is 00:42:16 first of all the wife she's not really mad at you over that she loves the story too she just wants to pretend like she's mad at you. This is my theory, of course. You can't stop telling that story. That's an awesome story, if true, that's an awesome story.
Starting point is 00:42:32 You see the store, and you think of your daughter, who is, you know, special needs. And the blonde joke that you told the old man with. Now, I don't know if I, you know, 12 years ago, my daughter was two years old. And her mother's boyfriend beat my daughter. So, really kind of. I'm not sure how we get to that. So, my daughter, two years old, her mother's boyfriend beat my daughter. So was she your daughter at the time, or did you adopt her after the case?
Starting point is 00:43:07 I'm not really sure how that story works out, but, you know, okay, whatever. Or you were divorced already after you had the child, and then the boyfriend beat the kid, and now you've taken care of the daughter. that could be the story as well. He doesn't go into details on that. But I will say you can't stop telling the story. That's an awesome story. You kidding?
Starting point is 00:43:30 That's what a great comeback. Of course there's something wrong with her, but being blonde sure isn't helping. It's a good comeback. And, you know, a fantastic story. Now, he doesn't go on to tell me whether the daughter who was now would be 14 still going around asking people for help
Starting point is 00:43:51 or hugging people. And I'm sure that, you know, you try to keep that on the down low. But if there's something, you know, wrong with her and she is still a blonde, I mean, I can't be avoided, can it? Then I got another email from John, who apparently thinks that he's worthy of the joke of the day. And so his email reads like this. Jeff, I can't find the link, but there was an MIT study about the effects of alcohol on walking. and the results were staggering.
Starting point is 00:44:27 See, because it's a study on, yeah, now you understand. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at theblaze.com slash podcasts.
