Blaze Radio Network And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. Big news out of the city of New York. Yes, New York, New York. The mayor, Eric Adams, has announced that he is going to bring together
Starting point is 00:00:48 the top experts and leaders in the field across the country to better understand urban rats and how to lower their populations. We're going to have the inaugural National Urban Rat Summit, September 18th and 19th of this very year. He cares so much about New York and its rat issues that he's bringing people together.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Well, not right now. He's got other things to worry about. But, you know, in September, we're going to, again, we need time to, you know, get people to gather and bring together how they want to kill the rats. Now, I saw one story this morning that talked about how New York is the third. radiest city in the country. And that's not really true.
Starting point is 00:01:35 It's number two. It's number two. The last rankings were Chicago was number one. New York was number two. Hopefully Chicago will be able to join in the summit. And Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. And San Francisco rounding out the top five cities. According to Orkin.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Now, that's just according to Orkin. So I hope that all five will be able to be a part of the inaugural Urban Rat Summit in New York City because we need, man, we need an opportunity to share those best practices as the Trash Revolution marches forward. Yeah, and we need to find the best, well, the best in pest management and removing conditions that allows rats to thrive. Yeah, here's an idea. Even if we discuss how to remove the trash and, you know,
Starting point is 00:02:34 not leave it sitting out for rats, maybe we just, I don't know, kill them. What do you say? Now, I'm not saying that everybody needs to run around New York and shoot them. No, I don't want that. People just shooting up rats everywhere. No. We had the guy last week shooting the raccoon or whatever in New York. He got out of his car and was like,
Starting point is 00:03:00 hey, is that a wild wrath? Yes, not anymore. I'm just shooting him right now. I think that was in Queens. Not positive. It could have been Brooklyn. You know, one of the burbs. It wasn't Manhattan.
Starting point is 00:03:13 But for sure, anyway, I'm just happy to let you know that New York is creating a urban rat summit and bringing in all the top experts. And we're going to figure out. We're going to figure out different ways to humanely kill rats. Welcome.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Welcome to chewing the fat. So if you're listening live, today is the 17th of May 2024. This morning, the number one golfer in the world, Scotty Shuffler, was arrested by Louisville Metro Police. Now, he was arrested for something horrific, like trying to get into the golf club where the PGA championship is being played. Uh, just incredible. Uh, just amazing. When they took him to jail, they put him in an orange jumpsuit, took his mug shot. Wow. He faces second degree assault of a police officer,
Starting point is 00:04:12 third degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic. The assault charge is a felony. Now, he did not assault the officer. In all, uh, accounts, what they're counting as an assault is, that the officer, as he was driving around, jumped on the car to try to stop it. And he didn't stop right away, so they're considering that assault on an officer, I guess. According to the ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington, who was there and claimed to witness the incident, Sheffler was trying to drive around a crash scene on the median. A police officer instructed him to stop.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Sheffler continued to drive about 10 or 20 yards toward the entrance. At one point, an officer attached himself to the side of Sheffler's car. So was that mean he grabbed the door handle? Did he try to, I don't know. Did he jump on the hood and grab the, you know, where the hood beds, you have the opening for the windshield wipers? I don't know. And then once it stopped, the officer grabbed Sheffler's,
Starting point is 00:05:27 arm to pull him out of the vehicle. The officer reached inside the vehicle to open the door, and once Schaeffler was pulled out, he was pushed against the car and placed in handcuffs. Darlington said, I was standing there. Shephler looked at me and said, can you help? And the officer said, back away. You need to get out of the way. Right now he's going to jail and there's nothing you can do about it. Okay, Mr. Officer, calm down. All right, calm down. Now, there was an accident. Apparently, you know, he was going into Valhalla. The officer was there directing traffic.
Starting point is 00:06:07 He had his credentials out like he was told to do. They said that the officer who attempted to stop Sheffler wasn't part of the regular event traffic detail at Valhalla Golf Club. So I guess that's where the miscommunication arose. They are allowed to go through there. That's why they have the credential and the wave through. Huh. So he did what he was told to do to enter the premises, but he also disregarded this officer's telling him to stop.
Starting point is 00:06:44 And so we'll see what happens. Now, Schaeffler, you know, it's so weird. He has issued a statement now saying that, I was preceding as directed by police officers. It was a very chaotic situation. Understandably so, considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier. Now, there was a big accident,
Starting point is 00:07:07 and a bus hit a pedestrian. Very sad, and the pedestrian died. I think the pedestrian was working as a vendor at the PGA tournament, because it was early. It was like 5 a.m., and it was dark. And the bus lane, where the buses bring people in, to the event, hit this person and killed him.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Sheffler went on to say there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed earlier the morning, which had prompted the police presence of Alhalla. I never intended to disregard any instructions. I'm hopeful to put this to the side and focus on golf today. So he was, you know, he was charged. Schephler continued in his response to Darlington. Of course, all of us are involved in the tournament.
Starting point is 00:07:55 and express our deepest sympathies to the family of the man who passed away in the earlier accident this morning. It truly puts everything into perspective. Okay, so this police officer, I know we're supposed to back the blue. I got it, we want to back the blue. But calm down.
Starting point is 00:08:11 And you got your blues all in a wad, and then once, even after you found out who he was, you still take him in and arrest him and give him a mug shot instead of, I don't know, handcuffed him in the back of the car and then telling him, Dude, get out of here. You know, something like that?
Starting point is 00:08:27 No, we can't do that. It's just incredible to me. Let me back up and repeat. I think I said it already. Calm down. So let's say you live in, oh, I don't know, Louisville, Kentucky, and you think, wow, the cops are being that jerkish to the number one golfer in the world.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Yeah, maybe you think to yourself, man, I might want to move out of Louisville. Well, you know what you need to do? Get a hold of real estate agents. I trust.com. There are those who lead, and then there are those who follow. And when it's time for you to buy or sell a house, especially in this housing market, the type of person you need is the former, not the latter.
Starting point is 00:09:06 And a number of years ago, Glenn, you know, two ends, B, E, C, K, down the hall, got so fed up with the follower types that he said, I got to, if other people are suffering, I got to figure out a way to make this work. And he decided to do something, and he started real estate agents, I trust. Because he didn't want to go through and didn't want to have you go through
Starting point is 00:09:29 all the same hassles all the time, every time when you move. No. I mean, buying and selling a home is a big deal. Real estate agents I trust pairs you with the best real estate agent in your area. Someone who knows the best practices, someone who understands the crazy housing market, someone who's a team leader and a closer.
Starting point is 00:09:52 someone you can trust. Huh, that's because the name is real estate agents. I trust. So if you're thinking about buying or selling a home or both, get in touch with them. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Go to real estate agents, I trust.com. Real estate agents I trust.com. With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too.
Starting point is 00:10:36 That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. Wow, maybe I should have, you could get a hold of real estate agents I trust.com for this. There's a lighthouse for sale, $450,000 cash. It's at Zero Smith Point Road in Reedville. It's located on its own island in Chesapeake Bay. When they say it's located on its own island,
Starting point is 00:11:04 yeah, it's just standing alone. lighthouse in the ocean. And you can have it for just $450,000 in cash. Now, Virginia is one of 14 states that offer rental stays in lighthouses, and they are really cool. I've toured several lighthouses. They're really cool to go in and climb up, and I don't do that anymore because I'm not doing stairs.
Starting point is 00:11:28 I'll go into the lighthouse and go, yeah, that's a lot of stairs. I'm not going up there. Take a couple pictures, send them back down to me, all right? Let me see the picture. So I guess the Coast Guard still takes care of the lights, so you don't have to worry about that. You're good, which is kind of cool. It's a National Historic Registry,
Starting point is 00:11:50 and yeah, the Coast Guard maintains the lamp because it's still an active aid to navigation. That's four bedrooms, one bathroom, 1,500 square feet. Okay. So this one guy spent five years renovating the property before using it as a vacation home for his family. He lives in Minnesota. I took a crew of about three to eight people
Starting point is 00:12:14 hauling materials out on the water and working on the property for a week at a time. Wow, man, that would just... That sounds fun. That sounds fun to me. I am a... You can't tear a remodeling job away from me. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:12:33 And he doesn't want to make any deals. He wants cash for the old lighthouse. And looking at the kitchen here in the old lighthouse, Dave, you could have done a better job. I'm just saying it looks fine. It's all, it's fine and everything. And I'll sit down and have breakfast and a cup of coffee with you there. But I feel like he could have done a better job.
Starting point is 00:12:56 But anyway, if you want a lighthouse, you can ask Dave. He's 73 now. and it just, he claims you need a certain level of passion and dedication to have this lighthouse and live there. Yeah, no kidding. Because the picture of the old lighthouse doesn't have a boat tied up to it. So I don't know, I guess you just tie the boat up to the ladder and you go up into the lighthouse.
Starting point is 00:13:23 But I wonder if it has a place to a boat pulley to keep it safe. Probably not. You probably just tie it to the lighthouse and if it rips away, call the Coast Guard. Plus, you know, it's just sitting out there in the water. It does, it's not an island. It's just a lighthouse stuck in the water. It's not, you don't have any ground to walk on. It's just a light, maybe you didn't understand what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:13:54 It's a lighthouse. Just all by itself out in the water. I'm not Dave. No, I'm not giving you $450,000 for that. Sorry, just not going to happen. Well, I see where the Mirage Casino in Las Vegas? Yeah, they're shutting the doors. Wow.
Starting point is 00:14:15 The Mirage Casino in Las Vegas will close in July after 34 years on the strip. So I guess they're going to shut down and then they're going to do some renovations. And then it's going to become the hard rock Las Vegas in 2027. so I mean it's going to be shut down for renovations for three years that's a lot of money lost a lot of money lost but maybe maybe we'll get a list of things that the Mirage is going to sell you know like they did the last casino that's shut down
Starting point is 00:14:47 we'll get chairs and desks and mattresses pillows blankets oh no we do not want the we do not want the no, not that room. No, sorry. I do not want that room.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Sir, it's the honeymoon suite. Yeah, no, thank you. All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. Be sure to follow me on my social media accounts at Jeffrey JFR on X. Jeff Fisher Radio on Instagram and Facebook. You can follow me.
Starting point is 00:15:34 on YouTube Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher. You can email the show anytime chewing the fat at the blaze.com. And you can order a cameo from me, which is not free, but at Jeffrey JFR on the cameo app. Oh, did you see? Today's the big day. The URL for X is no longer Twitter. It is now X.com.
Starting point is 00:16:01 So it's not going to go back to Twitter. Elon's not going to change it back. It is X and live with it. Okay? So you can still continue to say you tweeted something. And you can still continue to say, hey, you know, look for me on Twitter, but it's X. Okay, he's not changing it back. I saw the polls.
Starting point is 00:16:25 I saw all the stories. Everything. Elon said, hey, I spent $44 billion. I'll name it whatever the hell I want. Okay, and I'm naming it X. So that's what it is. Get over it. And I was like, okay, Elon, calm down, man.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Come down, it's fine. It's all right. I'm with you. Okay, I finally made it to Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. I enjoyed it. I love the Planet of the Apes movies anyway. They're awesome. And I know that this one was many years after the reign of Caesar.
Starting point is 00:17:02 A young ape goes on a journey. that would lead him to question everything he's been taught about the past and make choices that will define the future of apes and humans alike. And, you know, it was fine. And it's set up to be another franchise. There's going to be at least one or two more.
Starting point is 00:17:20 No question about it. I did really enjoy it. This was a lot of focus on the apes, less on the humans, although, you know, we did have a strong Nova, the female lead. Freya Allen was in it. And she, you know, she was awesome.
Starting point is 00:17:37 And she, you know, portrayed the humans as being pissed that, uh, look, we were in charge. And we want it back. Uh, and, uh, the lead ape is no longer Caesar now, although they follow Caesar kind of his belief, uh, Noah. Uh, he's, I like Noah. But for the next round, I mean, he's going to have to be more of a powerful force on the screen. You know how Caesar was. Caesar was the powerful force. And no, I feel like they didn't give him his due.
Starting point is 00:18:18 And he's part of the Eagle Clan, which was kind of cool. Kind of like the idea of the Eagle Clan. And although, you know, the big characters died. Oh, did I spoil it for you. you know, Proximus Caesar, what's his face, William H. Macy, whatever stupid character name he was going by. And the one character that was teaching the history.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Yeah, the one, Raqa, was the orangutan that Peter Macon played. And he, I'm sorry, acted in. And he, you know, I don't know, I guess maybe he could have survived, But I don't think so. It looked like they made him die, but I guess maybe in the next, you know, the next movie, he could have survived how he died
Starting point is 00:19:13 or how they portrayed him to die. So he could still be alive. Because he was the history teacher. I mean, he's got to, he still has, he has got to continue to teach Noah. Do they, you know what, email me, Chewing the Fat at the Blaze.com, or maybe DM me on X at Jeffrey JFR.
Starting point is 00:19:29 And we still get together. And I could lay out a screenplay for you for number two on this because you clearly don't have it. Clearly, you got no idea what you're doing. So just get a hold of me. So, I mean, they made it obviously, you know, they make the humans seem bad. The humans aren't bad.
Starting point is 00:19:50 It's kind of a fallout feel where they have, you know, the underground survival tunnels. And, I mean, that's what the, that's what the, Proxima Caesar is after he knows he knows his treasures are down there anyway if you haven't seen it That's part of it and then the you know the human Nova she I'm sorry may She she is there to get This chip from the tunnel that Proximus Caesar holds so that she could take it back to her tunnel
Starting point is 00:20:30 her fallout town so that they can fire back up again. So it's been, I mean, it's been a long time. It's been hundreds of years. I mean, they talk about, I think, well, I mean, they said in, what was the, you know, many years after the rain, but it was multiple lifetimes, you know, different. So I don't know, so it had to have been at least two or three hundred years. Had to have been.
Starting point is 00:20:58 I mean, Caesar's long gone. and his teachings are lost except for the one orangutan who was teaching it. Anyway, so they've got to keep him alive and we need to have Noah become a stronger presence and realize his power and also the tenuous nature between apes and humans and follow the laws of Caesar
Starting point is 00:21:28 and yet, uh, maybe you humans need to, we need to, you know, back up just a little bit. And, uh,
Starting point is 00:21:35 you know, I like it and everything, but, uh, you know, like you over there. Okay. So I just,
Starting point is 00:21:42 fast, I did enjoy it. I can't wait to see it again when it comes out on streaming. No, I'm not paying to see it again to the theater. I sat in one of those, uh,
Starting point is 00:21:50 one of those Dingleberry D seats or whatever, you know, that shake and move while they aim to run and they, and they have the, you know, the bass speakers in them and everything. I had not done that before. That was fascinating.
Starting point is 00:22:01 That was fun. That was fun. I put it on, I started it out in the middle, and I was in, no way, we're going, we're on this ride, I want it all.
Starting point is 00:22:09 You can quote me on that. We're on this ride. I want it all. So all the way up it goes. And that was fun. That was fun. I want that at my house, actually, is what I want.
Starting point is 00:22:22 I want that chair at my house. So I'm just going to have to, that's why I need a robot in my house. I need a robot in my house. You know what? I need a robot in my house. So when I'm watching a movie, the robot just stands behind me
Starting point is 00:22:33 and shakes the chair when somebody jumps on the screen. So the robot's there. I want a, I'm going to call it Dewey. And it's going to be my doobot. I want a doobot so bad I could darn dear taste it. I just want a doobot.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Dewey! Yes, Master. I mean, it's not that hard. All right. So thumbs up. to kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. I did enjoy it very much. And if you're not a Planet of the Apes fan,
Starting point is 00:23:09 you're probably not going to like it. But it's a definite build-up to the future. And I hope that they pay off the future the way it needs to be paid off. And that's why they need to get a hold of me because that needs to happen. Okay. Oh, I got to put my hat on the ring for Hollywood, too. I see.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Oh, this is actually a who died today? Who died today? Tony McFar, dead at the age of 47. And who is Tony McFar? You ask, well, he is the stunt double for Chris Pratt. And I just want to, and there was no cause of death listed. So, you know, I'm sure it's not that. Because if it was that, they would have said something, but they didn't.
Starting point is 00:23:56 but I just want to throw my hat in the ring. Chris, if you needed a double, I'm here for you. You know, I just, I'm willing to, well, call me. Call me, Chris, if you need a new, well, you definitely do need the new stunt double because the old one is dead. But I'm your man. I'm your mad, Chris.
Starting point is 00:24:19 So, I mean, look, I know. People have told me for years, wow, you look like Chris Pratt. I know. Oh, stop it. I don't. But, you know, if you need a stunt double, you can go ahead and call me. So rest in peace, Tony McFar, dead at the age of 47. And for those of you that follow politics, Senator Bob Benendez, who is on trial facing federal bribery charges.
Starting point is 00:24:50 And he and his wife are both on trial facing these federal bribery charges. But he has said all the law. He was throwing his wife under the bus saying it was all her. And he thought, wow, what kind of marriage is that? Well, she now is being reported as battling breast cancer and is undergoing a mastectomy. And she's going to be struggling with that. So he figures, oh, she's got breast cancer.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Everything's her fault. It's all her fault, man. All those gold bars in the closet and the cash and everything, all the gifts that were taken from those world leaders, that was her. Not me. It was her. Oh, man, if she was only alive to tell you that it was her, she would have.
Starting point is 00:25:38 But, Jeff, she's not dead yet. I know. Yet. It's hockey season, and you can get anything you need delivered with Uber Eats. Well, almost, almost anything. So, no, you can't get a nice rink on Uber Eats. But iced tea, ice cream, or just plain old ice? Yes, we deliver those.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Goaltenders, no. But chicken tenders, yes. Because those are groceries, and we deliver those too. Along with your favorite restaurant food, alcohol, and other everyday essentials. Order Uber Eats now. For alcohol, you must be legal drinking age. Please enjoy responsibly. Starting point is 00:26:26 See app for details. Okay, before we get to Phelan Maclear coming up to talk about his new play in NYC, October 7th, which is just an amazing story. and I was flabbergasted when I first heard about it, and I wanted to talk to him a little bit about it. Let me ask you to consider supporting Blaze Media, where you know our mission is to set fire to the lies the left wants you to believe.

Starting point is 00:27:07 was evident before it's becoming more and more evident every day. So go to blazTV.com and subscribe today. When you do, use the promo code Jeffie, J-E-F-F-F-Y, and get $20 off your subscription. That year's subscription to blaz-tivy.com
Starting point is 00:27:25 with the promo code Jeffey, get $20 off for your subscription. BlazTV.com, promo code Jeffey, get you that $20 off. Do it today. World wants you to forget what happened in Israel on October 7th. We've covered many shocking stories, but nothing comes close to what the men, women and children of Israel faced that day.
Starting point is 00:27:50 We're investigative journalists, Anne McElheny and Phelmaqleer. We travel to Israel after October the 7th and talk to those who lived through that day. Their stories are tragic, they are moving and they are heroic. They are also very, very compelling. We've produced a play from their stories. Our verbatim play, October. October 7 consists entirely of eyewitness accounts of that day, only using the actual words of those who lived through it. The world wants you to forget about what happened that day, the day that everything changed. We refuse to let that happen. October 7, the play, is opening in New York and will bring you the truth they don't want you to hear.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Get your tickets now for October 7th Theplay at October 7th.com, running May 2nd to June 16th. in New York. That's October 7th, theplay.com. Thank you. Okay, so this play is actually happening as we speak. Phalaam McLeer, welcome to chewing the fat. Good to see you. Good to talk to you again. I hear and see this promo and I'm thinking, how is this happening in New York City as we speak? I mean, let alone, I mean, in a major metropolitan area is around this country. They don't want to hear it. Are you guys cloaked in secrecy? Are you surviving?
Starting point is 00:29:15 What's happening? Well, it's very, very difficult to get any mainstream media coverage of this play. It's, you know, and that's why we did it. That's why we're doing this play is because this is a story people don't want you to know. They're very comfortable talking about Gaza. They're very comfortable talking about the campus protests in Palestine and genocide. and genocide and other sides and all this. But they won't talk about the origin story.
Starting point is 00:29:44 They won't talk about the context. They won't talk about October 7th. There would be no Gaza if it wasn't for October 7. Right. Well, let's be honest. There was a ceasefire before October 7. Yeah. So you can just keep crying for your ceasefire.
Starting point is 00:30:01 Anyway, it's amazing. So this play is ongoing right now in New York. Yeah. Are you seriously now when I say under the cloak of secrecy, I mean, the security has got to be, I mean, do you have security or are you just hoping and wishing for the best? Oh, no, you can't. Look, you couldn't hope and wish for the best. It's not fair on the actors. Like they're on, they're very vulnerable on stage. So every night there are five or six. There are many, let's just say many NYPD police officers outside the building and inside the building. you know there's a police vehicle outside the building and inside we have hired private security who are let's say carrying some interesting items that we have and there's several people outside
Starting point is 00:30:50 and inside at all times during the performance you know we're the only play in new york at the moment that requires permanent police protection i think we're the only play in new york in years or that needs police protection. I don't know of another play that needs people. I mean, and it's weird, like, so a play about Israel in 2024 in New York needs police protection. What kind of world are we living in? Boy, that is no kidding.
Starting point is 00:31:23 So you and Ann went over and tell me a little bit about your experience when you went over prior to putting this play together. Well, we realized this story was not been told. We went over and we interviewed survivors, heroes, people who were bereaved, people who had experienced October 7. And we, I think we interviewed about 20 people. And, you know, through a process of torture, we, we boil those stories down to, I think there's about 13 different accounts at various levels into this day. And it's kind of like, you know, the movie crash where the stories all start. out and you wonder how are they connected.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Some of them are connected. Some of them aren't. Some of them have similar themes. Sure. You know, and they're seeing the names of horror. Well, it's not gory. I mean, people who said they've come out of the play with a feeling of hope and resilience. What, awesome. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:24 And of course, these people are Jewish. So they find dark, dark humor in the, in the darkest places, you know. And there are some. laughs there, believe it or not, they find humor there. So we, you know, it's obviously there's tragedy, but there's heroes. People fought back. People killed Hamas terrorists. People lost people, people survived. People did heroic things. People did less and heroic things and feel bad about it. People want to give back people. You know, there's just, it's, it's every piece of humanity. People had simple domestic lives before we, we asked them what happened.
Starting point is 00:33:03 You know, they tell us what they were doing on October 6th. As you say, there was a ceasefire then, October 7. And then we let them say how they feel now. And it's a very, very compelling narrative, lots of emotion, lots of story arcs. It's a great play, actually. So, you know, when you see the, I'm really happy that you talk to the people there and got their feelings and their remembrances of what actually happened. When you see the footage of what happened, I mean, it's, I don't understand how this country has actually turned against Israel.
Starting point is 00:33:44 I don't understand it. It boggles my mind that how we have, I realize what happened, what's happening here in the U.S. To me, here in the U.S. on the college campuses, they're conflating all the, they're conflating every civil rights argument with the Gaza. which is just dumb. And that's, you know, okay, go do, go back to school a little bit, okay, figure out, learn what you're doing. But the overall message outside of college campuses is still anti-Israel. It's incredible to me. It is.
Starting point is 00:34:21 And, you know, for those people on college campuses who like to talk with oppressed and indigenous people, there's nobody more indigenous to that region. They out, they are the most indigenous people. people, I think. I mean, they can trace, like, they have documentary evidence tracing their, they're living there three thousand years ago. I don't think there's many indigenous people so you could say that, you know, right. But, or maybe even further back, I'm not a Jewish expert or Israeli expert. I mean, the oppressor oppressed narrative, the identity politics, it's a very, very easy narrative. And then, you know, the left, I think the Democrats are going to, you know, to end up as an anti-Israeli party. It's going to be very interesting.
Starting point is 00:35:06 They're already there, really. Nearly there, you know. Yeah, they're already there. And it's going to become one of those things where you won't be elected, you won't win a Democratic primary unless your anti-Israeli. What a change to witness. Now, funny, Republicans, now there isn't, there's a, there is a minority of Republicans, interesting, who, who are being a a little bit hostile to Israel at the moment. And, you know, I think in both parties, there's a small amount of anti-Semitism more so probably in the Democrats, more so in the Democrats. But I think a lot of Republicans have confused the justifiable and needed isolationism
Starting point is 00:35:49 that Donald Trump has been promoted. You know, it's not our, you know, something is not our fight. You know, Europe should look after Ukraine, you know. Yes. no foreign wars with they they conflated that with well then we shouldn't support Israel it's a different thing and you know there's no no possibility that you got is ever going to be American troops in Israel or England we're not asking people to sacrifice men or or women but I well you say that phailemon and I hate to cut you
Starting point is 00:36:22 off but you say that but I mean we're building we're building our port or our docks over there at the Gazim port. And I mean, they've had, I mean, what's his face? Austin testified in front of Congress saying that, well, you know, if they get shot at, they can fight back. So, I mean, and they are, they have been shot at. So, I mean, it is, I mean, it's possible that we have boots on the ground. I don't want it. I don't, I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:36:50 I don't, I think it's not going to happen. But, I mean, what are we doing? It's possible. What idiot. I thought it was a great idea to go to Gaza. I mean, can you imagine the publicity they would get for killing American troops, the kudos? Yeah. Yeah, no, I mean, if you go into Gaza to help them.
Starting point is 00:37:15 I mean, they went into Iraq to help the Iraqis, by the way. Remember that? They went into Afghanistan to help the Afghanis. I do. I do. I do. And Americans were right now to view that as. as, you know, the last foreign war we should fight.
Starting point is 00:37:29 I know. But even to, I think this has now moved on. I don't want to be overly critical at the Republican Party. I know. But by the way, it's a democratic problem more than anybody. I just want to say to the Republicans, you know, you know, okay, you may not want soldiers there and you may not want even to fund Israeli sport, but that doesn't mean that you should be anti-Israeli, that you should somehow see a moral equivalent.
Starting point is 00:37:56 between what Israel is doing and what Hamas did. And I suppose that's one of the things we wanted to say, look, this was the targeting and hunting. Like they were hunting human beings, right? And I don't use that word in a metaphorical way. I mean, in an actual liberal way. They were hunting men, women and children. And secular, non-secular, Jewish, non-Jewish, as long as they were in Israel and had some connection with the Jewish faith. They were fair game.
Starting point is 00:38:27 Yes. And game is the actual word. So your play. We'll get back. I know that's what we're here to talk about. I got you. So the play is going running now through June 16th. If I read the promotion correctly.
Starting point is 00:38:44 So is it going to, are you hoping for, first of all, I mean, how is it going already? I mean, you've been open for a week. How's it going? Everything seems to be well. Amazing. We had an amazing opening night. So it's it's these actors acting the stories of people. It's verbatim.
Starting point is 00:39:04 We interviewed the people and we've told us, we've crafted their stories and actors are reenacting it. And there's an activist and she's been rehearsing this one woman for, for weeks. Now, Shani, we had an incredible story. And after the opening night, I came on stage and I said, Jenny, the actor, I want you to come here and she didn't know it. And we introduced her to Shani, the woman she been playing for three years.
Starting point is 00:39:26 There wasn't a dry eye in the house. No kidding. Yeah, everyone has goose pit bulls, you know. I've just got them when you were telling me the story. Absolutely. So, so it's amazing. And people have really come out. They want the truth and they're tired of not hearing the truth.
Starting point is 00:39:45 And I mean, a lot of Jewish people are just shell shocked by October 7th. Actually, but they're more shell shocked by the response in America to October 7th, you know. They want people. want to forget this and for them it was such a traumatizing day. So it's been an amazing response and if any of your listeners are in New York or have any friends in New York,
Starting point is 00:40:06 please come along. I'm there either at the beginning or end of every performance. I want to talk to people. I want to hear what they think. Please come along. Awesome. So they can get more information at October 7.Theplay.com. October the number 7thepaitha.com. Are you filming it?
Starting point is 00:40:26 Are you going to make a movie for it? Are we going to take it on the road? Very interesting. What do we have to look forward to? Very interesting. So after the opening night, somebody came up to me and said, this is a short film. You know, you should do a short film and enter them the Oscars. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:42 And then about three or four other people have come up and they're a short film. And you need to put it in it. So, and they're all different, but they're all experienced in different ways. And when three or four people who have experienced in this kind of thing tell you something, you're going, perhaps. they've got something here. So we're thinking of going that route. We are our next part, our next part of this is a two-prong project. We're going to take it on a tour of university campuses in the fall. Are you hiring the National Guard to tour with you? I believe universities are a place of open dialogue. Yes, yeah, they are. Yes, they are. Debate. So we're going to go to Harvard. We're going to go to Columbia, which is just down there.
Starting point is 00:41:29 We're going to go to Yale, Penn, UCLA, take the play there. Awesome. Universities love theater. They've all got theater schools. They'll love it, I'm sure. Awesome. I cannot wait for the press for that. Phala McClure, thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:41:47 I'll let you get you out of here. October, the number seven, theplay.com. Man, I hope it all works out for you because this is fantastic. What a great idea. Good to see you. Good to talk to you. Thanks for, thanks for coming on today. Thanks, Jeff.
