Starting point is 00:00:00 It's hockey season, and you can get anything you need delivered with Uber Eats. Well, almost, almost anything. So no, you can't get a nice rink on Uber Eats. But iced tea, ice cream, or just plain old ice? Yes, we deliver those. Goaltenders, no, but chicken tenders, yes. Because those are groceries, and we deliver those too. Along with your favorite restaurant food, alcohol, and other everyday essentials.
Starting point is 00:00:23 Order Uber Eats now. For alcohol, you must be legal drinking age. Please enjoy responsibly. Product availability varies by region. See app for details. Blaze Radio Network And now, Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher. Sure, there's wars all over the world.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Sure, there's protesting going on on every college campus around America. But this story really kind of ticks me off. And I know that it's from Dallas-Fordworth, but it hits home because everyone has to pick family or loved ones up at an airport. And it should be made available. to go on to the airport property and pick someone up or drop someone off without being charged for it. We've talked about this before. And at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, you know, the world's third busiest airport,
Starting point is 00:01:15 it is now going to raise its prices again. And that's just for parking and valet fees. Now, the one good thing, and the only good thing about this, which isn't a good thing at all, but it is the one good thing in this report is that they didn't raise the dropping off and picking someone up prices. That still will only cost you $2 for any vehicle that enters the airport grounds between 8 and 30 minutes. That should be illegal, period, to begin with. You should be able to do that for free. And you would think, I would think, to appease the price in.
Starting point is 00:01:58 of some of the other parking prices, they would have made that free. We're just not going to charge people between 8 and 30 minutes. If you go to 31, you get charged. You know what I mean? That's just, that's the way it is. No problem. If you can do it, I guess if you do it
Starting point is 00:02:18 in under 8, it's free, although you can't drive that airport in under 8 minutes, I don't think. And so they raised everything else. I mean, if you want to at the terminal, $32 a day. Express covered parking, $21. Express uncovered parking, $18. Remote parking, $14.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Valet parking, $45. Pass-through, $9. And what they mean by pass-through, if you've never been to Dallas-Fort Worth International, is that it's so large that you can enter on one side and go out the other side and be out another interstate and be in another part of the county. It might even be a different county by the time you get there.
Starting point is 00:03:03 And people do that because it's a drive-thru, and it was worth the $2. Instead of taking the interstate. And it was a lot faster, usually. But now if you do that, which I guess would be in under eight minutes, if you go in one gate and go out the other gate, they're going to charge you $9. But we have to take a stand.
Starting point is 00:03:26 I know they're talking about what we're going to expand the year. airport, $500 million in roadway and parking upgrades planned over the next few years. And this is how we pay for it. But I've been to multiple airports around the country. And when you just drive in to pick someone up or drop them off, you shouldn't be charged for that. You just shouldn't. It's a crime.
Starting point is 00:03:46 And I don't know how they get away with it, but they do. You know, you look at the post when they broke this story because it started yesterday, which is when the story dropped about the price increase. And I'm reading a post on Instagram on my thread that I follow. It's called Dallas, Texas TV on Instagram from my Jeff Fisher radio account. And the first comments, there's hundreds of comments and no one is happy about it. They don't care. They don't care.
Starting point is 00:04:19 It's just ridiculous. And I don't know how it's legal, but it is. And there's people on the thread saying that we're just going to walk. to the airport. I don't think you can. I think they allow you to be walking on the interstate. And I joked about stopping there's an overpass at the airport exit and entrance where you could just stop. And if someone you were picking up, they could just walk out of the airport and you could pick them up there. Yeah, I don't think you're going to be able to do that either. So just beware. If you have business at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and maybe your airport as well,
Starting point is 00:04:51 you can email me chewing the fat at the blaze.com and let me know what it's like at the airport that you frequent if they charge you to actually just drop someone off or pick someone up because I feel like that should be illegal. Welcome. Welcome to chewing the fat. So they are going to retry Harvey Weinstein. Harvey Weinstein, you know me, all of them. He has been told in court that the New York District Attorney's Office would retry the case. that just got thrown out. So he was in court in his wheelchair and a black suit, more than four years after his conviction.
Starting point is 00:05:37 He went to the hospital and he was remanded back into jail in New York. But he still has 16 years to serve in California. So it's not like he was going anywhere. He was just, they're just pissed that they can't keep him in New York for 23 years in prison. So that will be a new trial for Harvey after. Labor Day. There wasn't a firm date, but we know that Labor Day falls on September 2nd. So anytime after September 2nd, there will be a retrial of Harvey Weinstein. His attorney said, we're very confident if he goes to trial, the only words we'll hear
Starting point is 00:06:17 at the end of the trial are not guilty. Good luck with that. Good luck with that. So he was still reprimanded here in New York. I don't know if that means that he still goes to L.A. say. Originally they said, well, you know, now that he's free in New York, that the case was thrown out, he just has to go to California and serve his time there. And then he's got 16 years in California. So no matter what happens, Harvey is going to spend the rest of his life in jail. But New York will not let that stand that they screwed up the first case. And they were going to retry him again. So we've got that to look forward to it. of the year. Speaking to lawsuits, I see where Johnson and Johnson announced that they planned to pay nearly
Starting point is 00:07:06 $6.5 billion over 25 years to settle all pending and future U.S. lawsuits, alleging that its baby powder and other telc products caused ovarian cancer. Now, this is the third time that they tried to settle this lawsuit, you know, via their bankruptcy filing in which the claimants become creditors of its subsidiary LTL management. Johnson and Johnson, worldwide vice president of litigation, Eric Haas, said that the healthcare giant has worked with counsel representing the overwhelming majority of Tulk. TELC. Tulk. Tulk. It's TELK. Poutter. Claimants to bring this litigation to a close. And we expect to do this through this plan. Okay. So they have three months. The claimants. If you're one of the claimants, you have three months to vote to approve or reject the plan. it would need to get 75% of the claimants to agree before the bankruptcy judge can approve it.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Now, Johnson and Johnson said the ovarian lawsuits that would be settled with this plan account for 99.75% of all of its pending telk lawsuits. There are some remaining personal injury cases related to the claims that the company will still have to take care of, and those in personal injury cases believe that the telk products caused mesothelioma and will be resolved outside of this plan. Okay. Now, they claim 95% of those cases have already been resolved. The company said it recorded $2.7 billion charge in the first quarter of this year, and that was to account for all these settlements. The company has reserved another $11 billion for these claims. they still claim,
Starting point is 00:08:52 Justice Johnson and Johnson, they still claim that the Talc does not cause cancer. So, we're just settling this to be done with these lawsuits. Uh-huh. Well, we might as well stick with lawsuits. Producer Dan Schneider
Starting point is 00:09:09 fighting back against Quiet on the set. The Investigation Discovery's Explosive Limited Series that delved into the toxic and dangerous culture behind some of the most iconic kids television shows in the late 90s and early 2000s. He filed this lawsuit in Los Angeles.
Starting point is 00:09:29 The lawsuit accuses Warner Brothers, Maxim Productions, Sony Pictures, and producers, Mary Robinson and Emma Schwartz for defamation. So after the series dropped, he apologized for his behavior that was depicted on Quiet on the set and vowed to hold himself accountable for how he acted on his Nickelodeon shows.
Starting point is 00:09:49 He even taped a 19-minute interview that was posted on YouTube in which he said watching over the past few nights was very difficult. Me facing my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and I regret. I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology. Now he wants the series to be held accountable. In the lawsuit, the one-time big-time producer called the series A Hit Job that destroyed his legacy and reputation. The limited series that was a ratings boon.
Starting point is 00:10:22 I had no doubt about that. Reveal about the child sexual predators that worked on his shows. You know, kidding about that. But Snyder claims in the suit that he had no knowledge of their abuse and was not complicit in their abuse. No doubt defendants will endeavor to obfuscate what this lawsuit is about by pointing to what they did get right. But Snyder said that those, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:49 Some of what they said are true, but at times he was blind to the pain that some of the behaviors caused certain colleagues. Okay. He said recently, the docu-series, Quiet on the set, highlighted mistakes I made and poor judgment I exhibited during my time at Nickelodeon, most of which happened decades ago during my early career as a producer, working on shows for the Tallinn-Robbins productions. There's no doubt that I was sometimes a bad leader. I sincerely apologetic and regretful for that behavior, and I will continue to take accountability for it, will you? However, after seeing quiet on the set in its trailer and the reactions to them,
Starting point is 00:11:32 I sadly have no choice but to take legal action against the people behind it. In their successful attempt to mislead viewers and increase ratings, they went beyond reporting the truth and falsely implied that I was involved in or facilitated horrific crimes for which actual child predators have been prosecuted and convicted. I have no objection to anyone highlighting my failures as a boss, but it is wrong to mislead millions of people to the false conclusion that I was in any way involved
Starting point is 00:12:00 in heinous acts like those committed by child predators. I owe it to myself, my family, and many wonderful people involved in making these shows to set the record straight. So we've got that to look forward to, and we'll see what happens. We'll see if anything comes of that. All right, let's go to the break room.

And that show airs live on my ex account at Jeffrey JFR, so you can watch it there. You're welcome.
Starting point is 00:18:06 So there's new data released from this true me labs.com that want to talk about clownface. They do not name it, three cuts to clownface. That would be my study called Three Cuts to Clown Face from Chewing the Fat. But this particular study or look into clown face cuts, they used 148 celebrities, and they looked nationwide U.S. searches on Google. They used keyword planner to reveal the rankings following this process. Celebrities were paired with search terms relating to Botox, filler, and plastic surgery.
Starting point is 00:18:46 creating 950 search terms. So the searchers were then collated together by celebrity to assess who had the highest combined total of speculative searches seeing which specific procedures were most common for each celebrity. So, I mean, it breaks down each celebrity. But the top 25 celebrities search-wise, number one, Jennifer Aniston. Coming at number one. with 26,553 monthly searches.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Number two, Taylor Swift. Number three, Madonna. Boy, something that Taylor Swift isn't number one at is the search for plastic surgery. Number three, Madonna. Ooh, you'd think she would be number one. Number four, Selena Gomez. Number five, Jennifer Lawrence. Simon Cowell, Drake, Ariana Grande,
Starting point is 00:19:40 Kylie Jenner, Nicole Kidman. Yeah. Kim Kardashian. lively. Don't be messing with my girl, Blake. Megan Fox, yeah. I mean, maybe we just know that it's Megan. You don't search anymore. Beyonce. Cardi B. Gwen Stefani.
Starting point is 00:19:57 Carrie Underwood. Kendall Jenner. Dolly Parton. Courtney Cox. Priyanka Chopra. Chloe Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Margo Robbie and Nikki Minaj. And then when you go back up and it kind of breaks down
Starting point is 00:20:13 each celebrity. and we don't have to get it to everyone but I find it interesting like Jennifer Anson number one right people search for Jennifer all the time now people have speculated that she has had Botox to you know her thanks to her glowing skin
Starting point is 00:20:30 Anderson has denied that all along I don't know you know she can deny all she wants she did admit to having a chemical peel at one point which consists of using a solution to burn off dead skin cells and promote new cells growing. Yeah, who doesn't have I mean, who doesn't want a chemical peel?
Starting point is 00:20:48 And she also a recommender of peptide therapy, which she credits as giving her skin that fresh look. Also admitted to having rhinoplasti, although claims this was non-cosmetic and solely to fix a deviated
Starting point is 00:21:07 septum. Uh-huh. Now they claim, you know, you could see some slight differences in her appearance. But, so they claim, you know, that her alteration during the procedure. But they think that she had a nose job and speculated about some other procedures that she's had. And I'm okay with it. I got it.
Starting point is 00:21:31 It comes to clown face. But maybe, you know, own up to it. Because we know that Madonna has definitely, you know, had plenty of work. And we know that. well, I guess I don't know that she's owned up to the Brazilian butt lift, but hello, she's had to have had that.
Starting point is 00:21:52 And she has her own little skin care brand, so she's got to say that that actually helps, the MDNA skin that keeps her youthful glow. But her appearance, I don't know if you notice with Madonna, has changed quite a bit.
Starting point is 00:22:09 There's definitely filler injections and cheek and lip injections, it's some rhinoplasti, it's a Botox happening. So the Brazilian buttlift isn't necessarily a reach.
Starting point is 00:22:25 And you can write your own jokes with that. And I really didn't think about Taylor Swift. I mean, she was number third in searches. I mean, people are searching for Taylor Swift on anything for sure. But apparently, people are curious about a nose job, a possible nose job. And she's never, never gone public about having any surgery or Botox injections.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Now there's plenty of, you know, social media experts that have believed that she's had rhinoplasty and, you know, talking about her slimmer nose and comparison with her teenage years. And they speculated that she's had upper and lower blethophorplasty surgery to widen her eyes alongside some lip filler. But I don't know. We'll see. I don't know. She looks pretty natural.
Starting point is 00:23:12 if that's happened, they've done a really good job. And Simon Cowell has owned up to it. I mean, he's said all along that he's had certain procedures, a facelift and admitted to having Botox and filler. He claims he's injectable free since 2022. So we'll keep an eye on Simon and see if that holds true. And I do not blame any of these people. That's, you know, good for them.
Starting point is 00:23:37 If you want to do it, do it. I just want them to own up to it. And I want them to at some point have. someone around them to say, okay, that's enough. Because the three cuts, the clown face thing is killer. And it's difficult. It's easier to have a little bit of work in today's world without reaching that clown face pedestal
Starting point is 00:23:56 because you have fillers and Botox that help out with that a little bit. So, you know, you can, you know, help yourself out a little bit without actually getting the cuts. But it happens all the time, man. You get that first cut and it was perfect and it looked great. and you want it again because, you know, the turkey neck is gone and the eyes are a little bit tighter and the cheeks feel a little bit tighter and you still, you look a little bit better on camera. So you might as well get that second one. And the second one doesn't quite reach the first one status.
Starting point is 00:24:30 It's not quite right. The ears aren't quite tight enough. Maybe the, you know, the nose isn't quite what you're expected. So it's kind of weird. So you got to have that third one. to kind of, you know, do what the second one did do, and then you're on your way. Three cuts to cloud phase.
Starting point is 00:24:53 With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too. That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Richard Tandy. Richard Tandy, the keyboardist, for E-L-O, for Electric Light Orchestra,
Starting point is 00:25:33 dead at the age of 76. Jeff Lynn, the frontman for E-L-O, announced it on his Facebook page, I guess. A remarkable musician, friend, and I'll cherish the lifetime of memories we had together. He was born in Birmingham, and he lived in Wales. So, rest in peace. Richard, I mean, hello, hello, I mean, legends. Richard Tandy, keyboardist for the legendary.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Yeah, no kidding. Electric Leg Orchestra dead at the age of 76. There was no, originally there was no cause of death listed. Then I see that they put in here, he was battling a short illness of bacterial meningitis. So which was it? Was it nothing? because nothing means that, right? And then they now say it was bacterial meningitis.
Starting point is 00:26:29 So either way, rest in peace to Richard Tandy, dead at the age of 76. Then we have best-selling novelist Paul Oster, Paul Oster, author of the New York Trilogy and the City of Glass, I think is, you know, I think one of my favorites from him. dead at the age of 77.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Now, Paul died of lung cancer. Was it hastened along because of that? I don't know. But it was known that he had lung cancer. So usually, you know, you can only, you can quote me on this. You can only fight that for so long. I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Cydia Glass was awesome, though. He had talked about writing the character for his, for the novel. City of Glass, and named him Quinn. But he said it, he started because he got a phone call at his apartment in Brooklyn. He was living alone. He said, I receive a phone call. And the person on the other end asked if he had reached the Pinkerton agency.
Starting point is 00:27:35 And I said, no, it hung up. And then a second or third time, the call came in. And I said, well, what if I said yes? And that was the genesis of the novel. You know, in City of Glass and said, yeah, I'd like to speak to Mr. Paul Oster. There's no one here by that name of the Oster, Detective. agency? I'm sorry. You must have the wrong number. This is a matter of the utmost emergency, said the voice. There's nothing I could do for you, said Quinn. There's no Paul Auster here.
Starting point is 00:28:02 You don't understand. Time is running out. I mean, that's the novel. So that's how you, that's how you start a novel with a phone call. Rest in peace. Paul Auster dead at the age of 77. then we're going to add Joshua Dean Joshua Dean 45 dead from an infection rest in peace
Starting point is 00:28:27 to Joshua Dean you ask yourself well who is Joshua Dean any anyone of any importance well he was another whistleblower against Boeing and apparently he got some
Starting point is 00:28:41 infection and could never kick it was a fast acting infection. I don't know how that could happen, but it did happen. It talks about how his, in the last couple of weeks, someone who had been in good health and had, was noted for living a healthy lifestyle, got in critical condition, he became ill, went to the hospital with breathing difficulties, they inhibited him, and then he developed pneumonia and MRSA, and then his condition deteriorated rapidly. then he was airlifted from Wichita to Oklahoma City
Starting point is 00:29:18 and they put him on an echo-emone machine which circulates oxygen and it circulates the blood and keeps your heart and lung function going and when your organs don't work on their own and then they were talking about maybe we need to just amputate his hands and his he's not funny
Starting point is 00:29:37 you don't want to be a whistleblower you do not want to be a whistleblower at Boeing unless you can do it anonymously because if you don't do it and honestly, you may just get an infection. Oh, man, oh man. I'm sure just a coincidence. Joshua Dean, dead at the age of 45.
Starting point is 00:30:01 So that's, like I said, that's the second Boeing whistleblower that we know of, right? I mean, we had the Barnett guy who died what was of an apparent suicide. apparently he in a self-inflicted gunshot wound a day after his first deposition in a parking lot of a hotel
Starting point is 00:30:26 and then we have this guy who I think he testified once he had one deposition as a whistleblower and then he got an infection so go ahead I mean Boeing
Starting point is 00:30:43 look I think I can't be all, I already said, it can't be all Boeing's fault, these airline issues. But, holy cow, whatever's going on over there at Boeing, if you're a whistleblower, make sure you're an invisible whistleblower. You know, speaking of being dead, all these actors that are saying they're not going to leave their money to their kids, kind of piss me off. I mean, you worked hard and then you're just going to screw your kids, because the world revolves around you now that you're alive
Starting point is 00:31:14 and now you want the world to revolve around you after you died. I mean, there's a story about Jeff Goldblum. He's 71 now. He revealed that his kids eight and six now they're going to have to support themselves when they get older. Yeah, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:31 row your own boat. What a douche. Come on, you kidding me? You made all this money and you're raising them and you're having a good time. I hope that you mean that you're not going to give them all of it, that you've set up trust funds so that they can be okay. It's important to teach the kids. I'm not going to do it for you. You're not going to want me to do it for you. Yeah, you know, I kind of am, Dad. I'm used to live in this
Starting point is 00:31:55 kind of life, thanks to you. And how about you, you know, let me, let me go on and live a little bit of life that I'm used to living. How about that? And then, and I like Jeff. I don't, I don't mine, I don't like, I mind his work. I think he's, I think he's an okay guy. I mean, I don't know him. My father-in-law actually had a brush with greatness with Jeff Goldblum on an airplane once, years ago. My father-in-law was wearing a suit that Goldblum loved.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Goldblum sat down next to him and started asking where he's getting, where he had the suit made, what it was made of. He wanted the suit desperately. That was a long time ago. This is a really, really funny story. So anyway, he's not leaving any money to his kids. Kind of, kind of, I don't get it. And then we had, what was it, Jagger said he wasn't going to leave his kids money.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Mick, I know you're spending it on your younger girlfriends, but maybe, you know, help the kids out a little bit. And there were, there are other actors that talk about, oh, I'm not going to leave my children money. I know what was Marie Osmond talked about not leaving her children with any inheritance. That would be harmful. would it be harmful? No, it wouldn't. The world revolves around you while you're alive, and now you want to just have a revolve around you
Starting point is 00:33:15 after you die because you're on, no, I'm going to give my money to the American Cat Society or whatever. And you can do, look, they can do whatever they want with their money. That's fine. That's fine. You can quote me on that. They could do whatever they want with their money.
Starting point is 00:33:31 That's fine. I just have a hard time with it, because the fact, family is also helping you be you. So the people who have money, you know, should be a little bit nicer. Those of us that have nothing, and I mean, nothing, are not leaving the family anything because we don't have anything. Oh, you're leaving your love. Yeah, well, it's not a bank account.

Starting point is 00:34:43 So Australia has given some advice, well Australian hospitals, have given some advice that I think is pretty good. They have urged snake bite victims to stop bringing in the snakes with them when they come in to get help. About 3,000 people suffer suspected snake bites in Australia every year. This is according to the National Institutes of Health. Only between 100 and 200 cases end up requiring anti-venom. now one of the victims brought in a brown snake with them carrying the serpent in a plastic food container that was not well secure frightening frightening the hospital staff they're not ready to have prepared to take care of that we just want to be able to get your scene and assessed quickly and having a live snake in the department slows that process what yeah so some people are bringing the the snakes in like plastic bags.
Starting point is 00:35:48 And this is the snake that beat that bit me. You know, don't bring them into the hospital. What are you doing? In fact, the hospital wants you to think about, you know, maybe not going after snakes to begin with. Like, you know, instead of trying to take pictures or catch them or, you know, post it on social media, maybe you not do that at all. but if you're going to do that
Starting point is 00:36:15 and you get bitten, there's no need to bring the actual snake that bit you in the hospital with you. I know. I know. It seems like a weird ask, but it's very possible it's good advice. So Brian Cox, the actor.
Starting point is 00:36:32 You know, I find myself unliking him more and more. I like a lot of his work, but now, you know, there's a story. I like them when he was joking about how bad what's his face was. Lockheen Phoenix in Napoleon.
Starting point is 00:36:50 And, you know, I like him sometimes when he's, you know, ripping on other things. But now, I guess he's a self-identified socialist. I did not know that. I mean, it certainly makes sense with some of the things that he has said. But according to this, he is a self-identified socialist. And he was on a podcast, of course, the starting line podcast, which, I mean, who doesn't love that? And he was opining that the Bible was one of the worst books ever and declaimed that religion holds people back from evolving.
Starting point is 00:37:24 Oh, isn't that special? Isn't that special? He went on to say that the Bible, the stories in the Bible were lies and propaganda. And he went on to say that people need it. They don't need to be, you know, they need some kind of truth that is not the truth. and it is not the truth, it's a mythology. Okay. Humanity will evolve quicker if religion was done away with. Isn't that interesting? Human beings are so effed up, and they have been, and they have been, according to Cox, and they're not doing anything about it, and they'll continue to be aft because they're so stupid.
Starting point is 00:38:02 That's the thing about humanity, is that it's so deeply, deeply stupid. I don't know if you know this, Brian, but you are part of humanity as well. So welcome to the stupid group, okay? He also called the theater the one true church, after explaining that religion keeps people from looking inside while acting reflects nature. That's what's so great about my job. That's what my job does. It's what Shakespeare says.
Starting point is 00:38:30 He calls it holding the mirror up to nature, that we reflect things back to the rest of humanity. That's why the theater of all the churches, the theater is the one. true church because it's the church of humanity. Aw, that's so special. Again, I keep getting farther and farther away from liking Brian Cox. All right, let me, I'm sure, I'm sure it breaks his heart.
Starting point is 00:39:00 All right, we'll give you a joke of the day. I may have even done this one before, but it's made, it went back to my algorithm, and I was laughing about it last night because it puts a smile on my face when I read it. So this is the joke of the day. It's not mine. But I can see how it could happen very easily. I couldn't believe it. I came home and was told by my wife
Starting point is 00:39:22 that my five-year-old son wasn't actually mine. She says that I need to pay more attention when picking him up from school. Seriously. Seriously. Think about it. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content. At the blaze.com.
