The difference between America and other countries
Starting point is 00:00:39 is really self-evident in this story. So according to at-fax, in Japan, those who arrive early to work park in a parking lot further away from their workplace in order to give way to those who arrive late to make it on time. They call it mutual. understanding. We in America call it stupid. Just dumb. The whole point of arriving early to work is to get the good parking spot. I don't understand. I guess the practice, according to this post, is rooted in a cultural emphasis on consideration for others and teamwork. And by parking farther away, early arrivals allow latecomers to have easy. easier access to the workplace, helping them arrive on time. Oh, isn't that special? It's reflecting broader societal values in Japan, where cooperation and harmony are prioritized.
Starting point is 00:01:45 And, you know, while this practice may not be universally adopted across all workplaces, yeah, because it's dumb. It has been rooted in various discussions and anecdotes related to Japanese work culture. Isn't that special? Yeah. So, Japan. I get it. You know, you want to be nice, and you think, I'll just park farther away.
Starting point is 00:02:06 So the people arriving late will be able to get on time so they don't have to walk very far. Isn't that special? It's called mutual understanding. Holy cow. I mean, why even show up early if you're not going to get the good parking space? I don't understand. Welcome. Welcome to Chewing the Fat.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Wow. So Amazon Web Services. services CEO, Matt Garman, according to this story, told employees, hey, there are other companies around. You don't like the Amazon's return to office mandate? Yeah, you can find someplace else to work. Isn't that what got Howard Joltz in trouble from Starbucks? Now, I know he was talking to union people, so I'm not sure how many union people are
Starting point is 00:02:58 involved at Amazon, very few, I'm sure. But Howard got in trouble for that, too, because he told the barista, hey, You know, if you're not happy at Starbucks, you can go work for another company. Whoa! That was an implicit threat, according to the judges. And so the Starbucks workers of United, the NLRB, brought the case before the judge. I'm sorry, the administrative law judge. And his comments were an illegal threat.
Starting point is 00:03:31 So is that an illegal threat from the Amazon Web Services CEO, Matt Garmament? in today's world. Hey, you don't like coming back to the office? You know, there are other companies around. Okay. I mean, can't be saying that in today's world. Really strange, too. I don't quite understand that.
Starting point is 00:03:50 I see where CBS, they're replacing their CEO. Man, we know, we did that story about how many CEOs are being removed and taken off the job and retiring and not being able to do the job. CVS is now replacing their CEO. Karen Lynch with David Joyner, and their shares have been tanking. And they also, CVS has workers in Southern California,
Starting point is 00:04:16 striking. Amazing. Now, they only, right now, it was a weird story because they talk about seven stores striking. I don't know if those are the only seven stores in California that have union members working there,
Starting point is 00:04:32 but they're working with CVS to, you know, changed their union contract because they can't apparently can't afford the insurance that CBS has and they want a, you know, a good bargaining contract with the company. Okay. And they were telling people not to go into the stores. They had store managers and non-union employees working at the stores at the time. So they weren't technically closed. They were just being picketed.
Starting point is 00:04:59 And the picketers were saying, hey, don't cross our picket lines. But it says that the strike was. authorized by a vote of the two local United Food and Commercial Workers unions. Well, okay, so they all don't work for CBS. And I don't know if it's just these seven stores that have the union workers with them or if this is just a statement that we can close down stores if we want to as part of a bargaining chip with CVS. So, okay.
Starting point is 00:05:29 I mean, one CVS worker said, in my nine years of working with CBS, I've never been able to afford their health care plan. Well, welcome to America these days. And perhaps, and I, you know, I don't want to go out on a Howard Schultz or Matt Garman tree limb there, but after a few years at CVS, maybe you could have found another job, maybe, and, you know, got a job with better benefits. That's just me, though. I don't know that. And I don't want to, I don't want to imply that that's an illegal threat. I am just asking a question. Is it possible in those nine years that you could have found another job?
Starting point is 00:06:11 I don't know that. Maybe the answer is no. I honestly, I don't know. Maybe it's CVS is not the only place this person could have worked. And then Walgreens. You know, we've talked about Walgreens, shutting down stores. And it's, you know, thousands of stores, at least 1,200, I think, in the next few years. that they're going to shut down these Walgreens stores.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Well, they just paid a settlement to the United States government for $106.8 million. For allegedly, and I guess they paid the settlement fine, so I don't know why this is allegedly, billing the government health care programs. They billed the government health care programs for prescriptions that they never filled. These acts violated the False Claims Act and other state statues. so i mean walgreens is one of the largest retail pharmacy chains around and apparently they were submitting false claims from 2009 to 2020 for prescriptions that were processed as being claimed but were never retrieved by the patient as detailed in the press release okay so they filled the prescription
Starting point is 00:07:24 no one came to pick it up but in the process of filling the prescriptions that sent the bill out I'm sure this is what they're saying. It wasn't done with any malice. They weren't just doing it. No, that's silly. What happened was we filled out the prescription for Betty, and in the process of filling out the prescription, we billed the government.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Well, Betty never came to pick up the prescription, and gosh, darn it, did we forget to reprocess that so the bill didn't go through to the government? Darn it, man, I wish we would have remembered. So, yeah, I mean, they need to, change the way that they built, right? You have to bill it post having the prescription picked up and not when it's filled. I, you know, I kind of, I kind of understand that. But they ended up paying off their, paying off their debts to the government for $106.8 million. I'm sure that has
Starting point is 00:08:18 nothing to do with closing stores and, you know, getting rid of workers at their stores. Nothing, nothing to do with that at all. I will say that it makes a good case for the J. Case case, what happens when you can't get to a pharmacy or one is closed that you used to go to all the time and you make more difficult to get there. You can't get to your doctor's office. I mean, there's natural disasters that are happening all the time. And it makes it very difficult to get to your doctors, get your prescriptions, get to the pharmacy to get your prescriptions filled. And if you need some sort of medication, if you get an infection and you're unable to get to your doctor or the pharmacy,
Starting point is 00:08:59 then you have the Jace case. The Jace case is a personalized emergency medication kit that contains essential antibiotics and medications that treat the most common and deadly bacterial infections. So there is something you can do to ensure that you and your loved ones have medications on hand when needed. And it's a solution that thousands of people

Promocode Jeffie at JASE.com. I love the Jace case. I mean, you have five life-saving antibiotics for emergency use. All you have to do is go to the website, fill out a simple form online. They have dozens of add-ons with ivermectin and epipanans as well. I mean,
Starting point is 00:09:58 It's really kind of cool, and it's nice to be prepared and have it just in case you need it. Go to jace.com. JASE.com. Enter the code Jeffie at checkout. You get a discount on your order. Promocode Jeffie at JASE.com. Boarding for flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes. What?

Okay, more Listeria recalls? Really? What is happening? Are we not, our employees not washing their hands or we're just running products through the bathroom. Is that what's happening?
Starting point is 00:11:12 So now we have chicken being recalled because of Alistaria, 11,765,285 pounds of meat. And now they were sent to schools and sent to ready to eat meat for school lunch and breakfast programs. The pre-cooked meat producer announced a recall last week, which I think we may have mentioned. But now it's expanding its recall to the ready to eat. foods containing poultry sold at grocery stores, including Walmart, Trader Joe's, and Aldi. The meat supplier, Bruce Pack, yeah, we did talk about this, initiated the recall after routine testing found evidence of Listeria, but that was, now we are adding the ready
Starting point is 00:11:56 to eat chicken to our recall. Now, I'm sure it's out of an abundance of caution because right now they say no illnesses or adverse reactions are currently associated with the recall. Uh-huh. but if you have some chicken from Bruce Pack at Trader Joe's Costco Walmart, Aldi Target, H.E.B. Giant Eagle and Kroger. You need to be careful on that. And the recalled products are also associated with the well-known brand names of Jenny Craig Atkins,
Starting point is 00:12:25 Signature Select, Boston Market, Amazon Fresh, Michelinus, Rouse, and Dole. Holy cow. I mean, this Bruce Pack recall, ready to eat items, is a huge list. right now you're fine because no one's been no one's gotten sick no one's got sick you're fine and then one more listeria recall which is just amazing to me that we're recalling uh frozen waffles made by tree house foods and they've been recalled over a possible listerious contamination as i said so if you are heavy have frozen waffles in your freezer and i mean what american freezer doesn't have frozen Waffles in it. The Aldi's
Starting point is 00:13:10 Breakfast brand, Dollar General, Clover Valley brand, Food Lion, Giant Eagle, Hanford, Harris, Teeter, H.E.B. Price Chopper, which is the Picks brand, Publix, Snooks, Southeastern Groceries, Target, Good and Gather brand, Tops, Walmart, Great Value brand. Wow.
Starting point is 00:13:26 They're also sold under brand names, including food hold, Kodiak cakes, and Simple Truth. Treehouse said in a statement that, of course, no illnesses have been identified so far. Uh-huh. They also said that they discovered the problem while doing routine testing at the manufacturing plant. So this is, we're having the recall out of an abundance of caution for the treehouse waffles.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Holy cow. I mean, you can get Listeria. You know, it's found in soil and water animal feces. So is that what's happening at these businesses, at these, at these food processing plants that were just running the product through the bathroom? I don't understand what the problem is. There's got to be some kind of oversight. I don't know what's going on, but we need to get this taken care of ASAP.
Starting point is 00:14:13 When I can't have my frozen waffles. First of all, if I'm buying frozen waffles, I'm not buying the generic ones. Okay, I'm getting, I'm getting Eggos. That's just the way it is. I know. But, you know, that's coming soon. I guarantee you that.
Starting point is 00:14:27 But for now, it's just the ones that were manufactured by Treehouse Foods. But we'll see what else happens this week. Speaking of health, I see where Tiger King, Joe Exotic, while he is still in prison at the federal prison here in Fort Worth, Texas, he has been quarantined now with Scabies. Ooh, nasty. I mean, they ought to quarantine the whole federal facility. Holy cow, because scabies is nasty and it can, you know, it can spread quickly. So pretty soon you could have that whole prison.
Starting point is 00:15:07 lockdown because of Skabees, man. I have to quarantine the whole damn thing. Nasty. I mean, it goes all over your body, you know, between the fingers and toes. It's often found in the skin folds, but it can appear in many parts of the body and adults, older children,
Starting point is 00:15:27 and holy cow. And it's mostly found between the fingers and toes and the armpits, the waist, along the inside of the wrist, inner elbows, souls of the feet, out of the chest. I'm itching already. I do not want scabies.
Starting point is 00:15:43 I do not like scabies, Sam, I am. I do not want it. Now, if you've never had scabies, you know, it takes a while to show up. So the symptoms may take like up to six weeks to show up if you've never had scabies. If you've had them before, then if the new fresh scabies show up, you know about it rather quickly. so it's a it's a burrowing might that gets under your skin oh i just i do not want that uh sam i am i don't wish that for anyone
Starting point is 00:16:15 even joe exotic uh i mean holy cow you know how bad that would be how many people you have in prison that are so close in contact with each other despite all the jokes i mean you're pretty close to everyone in prison and i know that you know we're separate cells uh-huh but uh holy cow if scabies start making a run through the prison? Nasty. All right, let's go. On that note, I need something cold to drink, so let's go to the break room.
Starting point is 00:16:56 All right, to look at the top movies of the weekend. Did you go see any? I actually did. I went and saw We Live in Time. My daughter wanted to see it, and so she wanted me to go with her, and I did as a nice father. And it was just
Starting point is 00:17:12 wonderful. It's a heart-wrenching story. We live in time. A love story that, uh, I did make it all the way through, but holy cow. Just, uh, just say, just say that I am one of them. It's the fifth movie in the top 10 this weekend. Smile 2 is number one, 23 million domestic, 46 global, wild robot, number two, still, still hanging in there strong, got 10.1 million, which still over there already over 100 million domestically. And then a Terrifier 3, which is a Cineversus slasher sequel.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Okay. I don't know that I mean, I may end up having to see a bit and piece of that once it gets to streaming. Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice is in fourth places. It got 5 million down 32%. It's already 284 million domestic.
Starting point is 00:18:10 And then, We Live in Time was fifth with the $4.2 million. Forlet adieu, I got $2.2 million. I mean, it dropped another 69%. So it's, I mean, 56.4 million domestic. And the global is $192 million. Not that good. People wanted it to be a lot darker.
Starting point is 00:18:29 I, again, enjoyed the heck out of the movie, but a lot of people did not. Piece by piece, Transformers 1 is in 8th. They picked up another couple of million, have, I don't know, 56. $1.6 million in five weeks, which I guess is not that well. Although they are, they're doing great. See, what they did with this movie is really strange how they released it, because they released it not at the same time globally, and at different points at different times,
Starting point is 00:18:55 and how they promoted it was pretty sad. The Real Transformers fans were very upset with how it was promoted or wasn't promoted. But it's still at, I think, 112 million, over 112 million global. So it's, you know, it's doing good. And I really enjoyed the heck out of that. movie a lot. And then number nine was Saturday night and nightmare before Christmas and I'm sorry, I can't do a mention of Transformers 1 without mentioning Bad Asatron. And if you see the movie, you'll know what I'm talking about. They have given a date for the release of the digital
Starting point is 00:19:28 release, which is happening tomorrow. For those of you listening live, it is October 21st, 2024 and they are saying that the digital release will be released on the 22nd of October and then so you'll be able to rent on on it on digital platforms and then it's going to the DVD Blu-ray will release on December 17th with according to this and I say this because I know that my son will probably already have preordered it the the home video and physical releases will include over 45 minutes of bonus content with badassadron so i mean i'll let you know if that's worthy or not i did not finish all of lincoln lawyer as it dropped on friday from netflix i'm about halfway through the 10 episodes i made it through episode five uh you know there's plenty of football and other things i had to watch
Starting point is 00:20:23 so i'm sorry i didn't make it plus i had to go to the movie with my daughter but some serious viewing time uh lost going to a movie with my daughter and And then, you know, plenty of football to watch. So, I mean, I can't. I can't do it all. It's just, like I said, on Friday. It was just not enough time in the day. It has been a really good season so far, though, of Lincoln Lawyer.
Starting point is 00:20:46 I really like the show. And I really like Manuel Garcia Rolfo as Mickey Holler and the Lincoln lawyer. And I got your email, Mr. Mike at chewing the fat at the blaze.com, who asked me to please stop spreading lies about bad monkey. It was awful. couldn't get through an episode. A Clint Eastwood's daughter was arrested on suspicion of,
Starting point is 00:23:59 alleged felony domestic violence. Now you may remember her, Francesca, because she's a former reality star. Yeah, is she? Okay. She had some stupid show called Mrs. Eastwood and Company, which chronicled the lives of her and her sisters and her father and then wife, Dina,
Starting point is 00:24:23 but that show ran for a single 10-episode run. I never saw it. I saw some promos for it. I don't know if Clint ever showed up or if we just saw him walking away, getting into a car every now and then just to bring in viewers for the show. But that lasted for one season.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Anyway, I guess she's been... Dad put her in a couple of movies and she's been in a few things. Anyway, she has a son named Titan with her boyfriend, Alexander Raith, and her six-year-old son marks the fifth grandchild for Clint and the first for Fisher. That's great.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Okay, so anyway, she was arrested in Los Angeles. which, and I found this fascinating. So she was arrested in Beverly Hills for possible domestic violence incident in a safety zone at their North Rexford Drive headquarters. Okay. So I don't know what happened, but she was booked by Beverly Hills Police. I don't know if that's a big deal or not, but we'll see. For possible domestic violence in a Beverly Hills police. Hill's safety zone. And then Rosie O'Donnell's daughter, arrested for child neglect after 11-month-old is
Starting point is 00:25:37 found near meth pipe. Okay. So Rosie O'Donnell's daughter, Chelsea Bell O'Donnell, arrested for this child neglect and possession of drugs after police reportedly found her 11-month-old son near a meth pipe. The 27-year-old was charged on four felony counts. That's not good. Hopefully she gets the help she needs. No kidding. And two misdemeanors, disorderly conduct, domestic abuse and possession of illegally obtained prescription judge. Okay. Disorily conduct. She was pissed and high when the cops arrested her. We're just tacking on stuff now. All right. Fine. Whatever. I hope she gets the help that she needs. But I'm sure Rosie will be there for her. I mean, sure. Rosie will be there for. I guess that this is not the first time that this has happened.
Starting point is 00:26:28 So there's a problem. Hopefully that gets taken care of. And I see where SNL brought back our boy, Alec Baldwin, for their... Well, I mean, how can I... I mean, I can't talk about Alec Baldwin without, you know, following the rules of the show. I apologize. I've already said his name twice without the gunshot,
Starting point is 00:26:51 and I want to apologize. So I'll just start again, pretend like it never happened. So I see our boy, Alec Baldwin. And for those of you that aren't aware, that happens when I name him because that started during his trial. I'm really right after the shooting of Helena Hutchins. And so whenever, you know, I mention his name, that has to happen. Now, if I just say, Alec, you get that. So it's just the rules of the show.
Starting point is 00:27:17 I can't, I mean, those are the rules. You got to follow the rules. Am I right? Of course. So they brought him back for the SNL bit where he, He played Brett Bear this weekend on Saturday Night Live. I saw the clip of dear old Alec playing Brett Bear, and it was, you know, it was okay. And it was kind of funny a little bit.
Starting point is 00:27:40 And they were kind of that gabashing Kamala in the bit, really, which I'm sure did not go over well with Mr. Baldwin. But he did the bit. And people were wound up. How can they bring him back? Well, he had his case dismissed. I know that, you know, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was found guilty, and she's serving time. But they screwed up during his trial.
Starting point is 00:28:05 And so it was thrown out. And have a nice day. It's over with, okay? So he gets to live his life. As much as I don't like him, he gets to live his life. And he gets to, you know, I like a lot of his work. This was okay as Brett Bear. I don't know that they, I'm sure they could.
Starting point is 00:28:24 have found someone else to do it but he's you know part of the team and he did it so uh i don't know why it was so people were so angry about bringing back alec baldwin but hey it keeps him in the news for me and that means i could continue uh to say his name and follow the rules of the show marshall's buyers travel far and wide hustling for great deals on amazing gifts so you don't have to They've bagged this season's Italian leather handbags. Designer. Hand-picked the finest sweaters from the rest. Ooh, cashmere.
Starting point is 00:29:14 Landed makeup pallets from the brands you love. Rushes too. And hustled all those wishless topping toys. So plush. Our buyers have got you covered. Marshals. We get the deals. You gift the good stuff.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Aaron Kaufman. the Emmy nominated director behind Superpower. Sean Penn's Paramount Plus documentary about the Ukraine-Russia War has passed away at the age of 51. Apparently, he died in Las Vegas of a heart attack. Uh-huh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:52 That's what they say. So, rest in peace to Aaron Kaufman, Emmy director, Emmy nominated director, dead at the age of 51. Then we have Philip Zimbardo. Philip Zimbardo dead at the age of 91. He was the psychologist best known for carrying out the Stanford prison experiment. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:18 And his other notable career exploits were all research and subjects ranging from persuasion to hypnosis and how situational power affected behavior. And he, you know, obviously conducted the Stanford prison experiment. So rest in peace to Philip Zimbardo. I mean, that Stanford prison experiment only lasted, I don't know, six or seven days. It was supposed to be this two-week study because he had students assigned roles, either guards or prisoners. And the guards given this wide latitude over prisoners.
Starting point is 00:31:00 And they very shortly began abusing their guardship. And so they had to shut the study down. And so, I mean, he was criticized for his ethical and methodological concerns, right? Yeah, methodological concerns. Yes, I'm going to say that word correctly. No, I don't need my girl. It's Monday. Leave me alone.
Starting point is 00:31:27 So anyway, that whole study was been questioned. but that's what he was known for. So, rest in peace, Philip Zimbardo, dead at the age of 91. Then we have this story, which I only do because I didn't realize this place existed, and I should have. So there's a ferry dock incident where it collapsed going into this Sapello Island off of Georgia. And at least seven people died, very sad, and eight others were injured. and their search and rescue efforts are ongoing, and the cause of what happened is still under investigation.
Starting point is 00:32:07 But it came under this annual celebration for the island's descendants of enslaved African Americans. So Sapello Island is a 16,500-acre island located 60 miles off Savannah, accessible from the coast by a 20-minute boat ride. It's home to around 70 members of the Hog Humock community. And I love the Hog Humbock community. community. That's a group descended from formerly enslaved African Americans who purchased land
Starting point is 00:32:36 there after the Civil War. And though through the separation from the mainland, the hog humot, like other coastal southeastern communities of formerly enslaved African Americans, broadly known as the Gulag Gichi, managed to retain much of their indigenous West African culture and traditions, including skills like cast net fishing and basket weaving. And its protected property as protected property that includes full-time residents and research reserve. So I never have visited the Sapello Island, but I may visit there as where if it's a party
Starting point is 00:33:14 with the Hogahumach community. I want to go there and see, you know, how the Hoggumach community is part of the overall Gulagichi people and community. But I haven't had the opportunity yet. Then we have a Kentucky man, T.J. Hoover the second.
Starting point is 00:33:36 T.J. Hoover the second, all right? He was presumed dead. And surgeons began to process his body because they were going to harvest some of his body parts. Nope, he began thrashing on the table. And they were like, whoa, whoa, easy, easy, easy. And darn, he's not dead yet. And so he was crying, yeah, the doctors are starting to cut the man and remove his organs.
Starting point is 00:34:06 Hey, I'm not dead yet. Apparently, he had some drug issues, and they were questioning the family questioned, apparently, his death. And, okay, you know, he was declared brain dead after an overdose, but he was not dead. And so he said, I feel betrayed by the fact that people that were telling us, was brain dead and then he wakes up. Well, sorry. Maybe you should help your brother or your cousin or wherever you are, family member to, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:41 go easy on the drugs. I know, I know, I know, I know. I got it. I'm sorry. I don't want to be the one laying on that table. We all need to, I want to go on record as saying, before we start harvesting organs, we all need to be sure that that person who we're taking the organs from is 100% dead. Okay, I'm on record there.
Starting point is 00:35:02 We're good. I see also Liam Payne, you know, the One Direction star who fell to his death from the third story down there in Argentina. He had quite the cocktail, quite the cocktail according to the analysis from the Argentinan corner. People who witnessed it said he appeared unconscious when he fell. And he had the crack. and so-called pink cocaine in his system.
Starting point is 00:35:33 And according to this, he had a combination of methamphetamine, ketamine, ecstasy, and the crack and pink cocaine in his bloodstream. So my man was ready to get his organs harvested, but he actually was dead. So, I mean, rest in peace to Liam Payne, who is dead at the age of first. 31. But that's quite a cocktail to have in your system. And unless you have someone looking out for you at the time, I would imagine that it's not that difficult to go over the balcony, which is
Starting point is 00:36:16 exactly what happened to Liam. With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste, but Two. That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. Okay, well, congratulations to the Los Angeles Dodgers who defeated the New York Mets yesterday. So the World Series is set because the Yankees won, I think, Friday night. And so against the Guardians. So we have a New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers World Series, a coast-to-coast world series. And we've got, you know, the biggest stars in baseball going up
Starting point is 00:37:11 against each other on the World Series Major League Baseball has got to love that. So that happens. I believe the World Series begins Friday night? Yeah, that's right. The 25th of October. Oh, happy birthday to my son on Friday. So I need to say hello to him. October 21st, 25th birthday of my oldest son.
Starting point is 00:37:36 Anyway, so game one is Friday night. And since the Dodgers, I believe, had the best. record above the Yankees record begins with them. You have a two, three, two format best of seven. So you get the first two games in L.A., then you got three back in New York and two back in L.A. again, if needed. So that's your format for the World Series. Good luck. Should be fun. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it. Those are two of the best teams in the Major League Baseball. I mean, you've got Aaron Judge and Shohei Otani going off for the World Series. exactly what Major League Baseball could hope for.
Starting point is 00:38:12 I'm not saying, don't look at me. I'm not saying they fixed it to make it happen like that. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm just saying, isn't it lucky that it happened that way? That's all. The Cleveland Guardians certainly were worthy, and so were the New York Mets. But that's not the way it worked out.
Starting point is 00:38:31 So you have the two best teams in Major League Baseball playing for the World Series, and I look forward to it. I see where the new rankings came out for the NCAA college football. I know I've got to talk some sports here. I have to. And I see where my Missouri Tigers were ranked 19th last week. And then they won this weekend. And now they're ranked 21st.
Starting point is 00:38:56 So this is like the second time, maybe even the third, this year, that they have won and dropped in the polls. I get it. You know, it's kind of, you know, a bias against. the Missouri Tigers, I get it, but that's, I'm just interesting. This is an interesting point that you can win and fall in the polls. I don't think that's happened
Starting point is 00:39:18 to some other teams. So Oregon is now number one, Georgia, number two after they defeated Texas down in Austin, which was an awesome game and very fun to watch. I mean, they owned Texas. Penn State, number three, Ohio State, number four, and Texas drops to number five
Starting point is 00:39:34 in the rankings. BYU Pat Gray on leashed team is 7-0 undefeated. They go up a couple of slots to number 11 in the top 25. So Missouri drops two to 21. And I can tell you I know why they dropped because if they left them at 19 or in the teens, this week's upcoming game is against Alabama.
Starting point is 00:39:57 Now, the odds are really against them winning against Alabama. However, if they were 19th and they lost to Alabama, they still might not drop enough to get out of the top 25 with two losses. Now, at 21, if they lose to Alabama this weekend, they could justify dropping them out of the top 25. And that's what's going to happen if they lose. And Army and Navy are still being disrespected. They're undefeated and they're destroying teams.
Starting point is 00:40:28 And they're only 23rd and 24th in the top 25. It's just kind of weird how this year is playing out. But the top teams are definitely the top teams, no question. I'm not saying Missouri is one of the top teams, but they definitely should be considered when we get down to the end of the year in the 12-game playoff. We'll see how that works out. They have not played very well, and they need to pick up the pace.
Starting point is 00:40:52 All right, I'm sticking with sports. I don't care. I saw this Patrick Mahomes thing yesterday with the Kansas City Chiefs, and they won and good for them, and the chiefs are still the only undefeated NFL team left. But this big deal that they're making with this Patrick Mahomes, run where he looks like he's going to run out of bounds and he looks like he's going to toss the ball and then he stops and he continues to run and this this is I'm going to go out of bounds now
Starting point is 00:41:15 never mind I'm going to continue on for 30 yards that should not be allowed I'm sorry it just shouldn't because the defense is already letting up because of the rules because if they touch him when he steps out of bounds then it's a penalty so if it looks like he's going out of bounds they got to let him go out of bounds because they can't touch him well then when he decides so if it looks like he's going out of bounds, they should say, yep, that's where you're going out of bounds. For him to fake that, it goes against the rules, because then he fakes it and the players let up to not hit him, and then he continues on. That should not be allowed. I'm sorry, NFL, that's wrong. That should not be allowed. Okay, I think I'm done. And I want to congratulate
Starting point is 00:41:54 a new world record holder. Now, you know, I always wanted to have a Guinness World Record. I did not know this world record existed and I want to congratulate the new winner of a Guinness World Record of Mitchell Rudy. He is, and it sounds like this is a joke, but it is not. Mitchell Rudy led a pack of 38 leased dogs on a 0.6 mile walk to break the Guinness World record for the most dogs walked simultaneously by an individual. So congratulations to Mitchell, Rudy. The picture is just incredible as he's walking these 38 dogs.
Starting point is 00:42:40 That should, that's just, it makes me laugh. It makes me laugh. So he broke the, he broke the record that was 36 dogs that was set by Gosan in South Korea. It was set in Gosan, South Korea. Thought that was the guy's name. But it wasn't. Does it say the guy's name?
Starting point is 00:42:58 Wow, the guy had the world record. And now that he's lost it, we don't even care. Okay, I don't know, we don't care. Congratulations to Rudy Mitchell. I'm sorry, Mitchell Rudy, who led the pack of 38 leased pooches on a 0.6 mile walk to break the record. And apparently in his,
Starting point is 00:43:16 he wanted to honor the previous record holder that was set in Gosan, South Korea, because his dogs were provided by the Korean Canine Rescue Shelter. All these dogs, some of them are from puppy mill industry and some of them are from former meat harvesting areas. And these are dogs that have been rescued by KK9R, but are also agencies inside Korea.
Starting point is 00:43:41 Also other agencies inside Korea. And there's a lot of stigma around these rescues. So they all need a little bit of love. And I'm promoting dog adoption. So that's great. That's why the dogs look so much alike. So again, when we're eating dogs, we're not eating fluffy.
Starting point is 00:43:57 We're just breeding them to eat. But Mitchell Rudy, He doesn't want you to do that. He wants you to adopt him. And that's why he walked 38 pooches all at once. And congratulations to Mitchell Rudy for setting a new world record for the most dogs walked simultaneously by an individual. Congratulations. Starting point is 00:44:43 You may have heard of the sex cult Nexium and the famous actress who went to prison for her involvement, Alison Mack. But she's never told her side of the story until now. People assume that I'm like, this pervert. My name is Natalie Robamed. And in my new podcast, I talked to Allison to try to understand how she went from TV actor to cult member. How do you feel about having been involved in bringing sexual trauma at other people? I don't even know how to answer that question. Allison after Nexium from CBC's Uncover is available now on Spotify.
