Starting point is 00:00:44 I just want to say thank you for listening to Chewing the Fat. I know. I know, I know, I know. Today is going to be, I don't know what else to do today than to go through some of these headlines and try to figure out where we're headed. You know, some, many of you, many, all of you are smarter than me. And so you can email me at chewing the fat at the blaze.com and let me know where we're headed after today's show.
Starting point is 00:01:12 But since we're going to do that, I'm going to go through these headlines. I figured, you know, we'll start off with, you know, a joke for you and the family and the kids. Okay. All right. You ready? Okay. why is it illegal? And I mean illegal.
Starting point is 00:01:32 It is illegal. To pass gas at the Apple headquarters. Because there's no windows, duh. Okay. So I am just discombobulated. Seriously. I can't believe. You know, I could just start with that.
Starting point is 00:02:02 headlines and figure out where we're at. But I'll talk about the CrossFit CEO to get us started. And this is what put me over the edge. Remember, he took heat and sponsors started canceling him left and right because he tweeted, well, he actually quote, tweeted or responded to a tweet from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation. classifying racism and discrimination as public health issues. And he called it, it's Floyd 19.
Starting point is 00:02:43 That was his tweet. It's Floyd 19. And the world went crazy against CrossFit and Greg Glassman. All right. So, I mean, they started pulling sponsorships and being coming after him and attacking him. And he's resigned now. he's resigned. Incredible. The pressure. Incredible over its Floyd 19. Wow. I mean, have a nice day. And then I was looking at, you know, one of the emails that I get with, you know, stories and headlines.
Starting point is 00:03:22 And I'm just going through it. I don't even want to click on them. I don't want to click on them. I don't want to click on them because I already know the entire story is going to just really make. my head explode. So here's the first batch that I saw. First thing this morning, right? I got up, I did my chewing the fat on Pat this morning on Blaze Television and Radio Network and Pat Unleashed. And so I had, you know, stories ready to go from my chewing the fat segment. But, you know, I get up and it's, you know, 3.30 in the morning. And I look at the, look at the headlines that's sent to me in, you know, some of the show prep emails that we get. And here's the first. first list. All right? Just the first list. That's what I see. Now, I didn't click on anything. I'm just scrolling through the email that I get. All right? Ready?
Starting point is 00:04:11 Los Angeles homicides soared 250 percent. shootings 56 percent during protest week. The surge in deadly crimes in L.A. mirrored similar reports elsewhere in the country for the week of May 31st to June 6th. 21 people shouted St. Louis over the weekend. Six people were fatally shot on the city over the weekend. George Floyd's family petitions United Nations to help disarm police in the United States. They sent a letter
Starting point is 00:04:40 to the United Nations to ask for its help in disarming police officers in the United States of America. I didn't even give you the recap. This is just the headlines. Seattle rioters declare cop-free zone after police leave precinct.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Yeah. And I believe you heard that here. Chewing the fat. It's the only. only thing that is left to have happened. And we're already seeing it. We're already seeing it. We're seeing it around the globe. But it's not supposed to be here. And will it happen all across the United States? No, I don't think so. We'll have no go zones, just like what I talked about here on The Fed. We'll have no go zones. And it will be, it'll be, they won't be called no go zones.
Starting point is 00:05:28 And you can go there as long as you have the okay of the warlord or the gang lord or the gang leader or whoever is in charge of that particular three miles square in whatever city you're in. If you don't have the okay, good luck, God bless. And we're already seeing that happen. We're seeing that happen in Seattle. There is a city, another city in California where they just locked down the city. because they had someone come up to the police station and shoot a deputy. This is what we're getting into. Next headline.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Bloody Pig Head on Spike left in front of the LA police station. Oh, good. Good. The Blue Lives Matter rally for Las Vegas canceled. I wonder why. Oh, I know. Over safety concerns. New York Police Union boss.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Stop treating us like animals and thugs. I actually, he was pissed and really upset. And he makes some great points. I don't know. Will it get through? I mean, it sounded good. I believed him. I love to hear it.
Starting point is 00:06:43 But will it get through? I don't know. Most reject calls for defunding police, do they? According to a Rasmussen report, survey finds a 20 Rasmussen, whatever they call themselves. The survey finds that 27% of American adults favor reducing the police budget in the community where they live. That's just trying to appease the people who saying no, mo, police.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Take them at their words. That's what they want. They, the protesters, the rioters, no, mo, police. That's what they want. So instead of saying, remember that's that, the mayor of Minneapolis, tried to walk that back. in front of the lady who said no more police. One word answer, are you going to get rid of the police or not?
Starting point is 00:07:34 He tried to walk it back with his, well, we need to, you know, we can have better training and we can reduce the police budget, and we can add some community training. Get the F out of here. Have a nice day. No, Mo Police. That's where we're at.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Okay. California homes displaying American flags targeted by arsonists. According to the article, Police say they don't know the motive. Okay. I mean, you're right. We don't know the motive.
Starting point is 00:08:04 100%. We don't know the motive, do we? But we do. News photographer. Attacked by rioters ripping down statue of Columbus and Richmond. Great. Yay. I mean, they tore down Christopher Columbus and dragged him to the lake and threw them in it.
Starting point is 00:08:23 I mean, tear it down. Nothing. No history. We don't want it. We don't want to know about it. We don't want to hear about it. We don't care. If it was up and it had anything to do with what we perceive as a racist part of our history, gone.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Have a nice day. A black woman in Chicago filmed the Facebook live video of armed citizens defending local businesses. She was pissed because she couldn't loot the neighborhood stores. And, you know, we played that, we played the audio of the mayor. And the alderman yesterday, I played a little bit of it on Pat this morning where they were arguing on May 31st, right? 11 days ago after the first round of protesters in Chicago had done huge amounts of damage. And the alderman was pissed because he wanted a response from the mayor. He wanted something done about the neighborhood.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Finally, the mayor brought in a private security company who wouldn't be armed to help them out. Okay. Well, now, you know, some of the shop owners and businesses, you know, armed themselves and protected their businesses. Good for them. But how long does that last in the no-go zone? I don't know. They're talking about looters now selling stolen merchandise all over Facebook. You're going to get cut off on Facebook?
Starting point is 00:09:47 No. Could Facebook prove that it's stolen unless they say it on their Facebook live? Yeah, we got this last week at Target. And I only need three TVs and, you know, we got 10. So, you know, here's five. I'm selling you. I'll give you a good price. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:02 I don't know, maybe. Minneapolis manufacturer. The city doesn't care about protecting us, so we're out of here. Okay. And you know what? And the, the protesters are saying good. Good riddance. Get out.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Have a nice day. All right. Where are you going to work? What's going to create jobs in Minneapolis now that there's not going to have a, you know, a community police department? I get it. You don't want the police there. No more police.
Starting point is 00:10:27 That's what you say. said, okay, there's going to be rules and regulations. But if it isn't from the police and it isn't from the law that you hate so much, it's going to be from that gang leader or that warlord. And whatever they say goes, sounds a lot like fascism, doesn't it? Sounds a lot like that. I'm sure it's not, though, because that would be wrong. I could go down.
Starting point is 00:10:56 I'm looking at all these headlines, and it just, it drives me. I'm just insane. Insane. They're already talking about as many as 25,000 stores could permanently close this year. 25,000 stores. Now, there's going to be other jobs created with other companies and doing other things, I know. So it doesn't mean that all of those jobs disappear. it means that all of those jobs from those 25,000 stores disappear.
Starting point is 00:11:28 It's just that all of those employees will start doing something else. I get it. But I mean, it's going to take a little while to get that churning again, right? And so who do you work for? Do you become one of the 100,000 people that the government hires or the CDC hires to be contact tracers? So you have to go out to different people's homes and find out if they have COVID. And if they have COVID, then who did they come in contact with? and then you're going to have to go and hunt down those people.
Starting point is 00:11:55 So you become a citizen private detective hunting down people. And you're going to say, hey, last week, hello, Mr. Johnson. Yes. My name is Bill. I am a contact tracer with the CDC. And last week you came in contact with Joe down the street and he's got COVID-19. So you need to quarantine for 14 days. I don't want to be that guy.
Starting point is 00:12:16 I don't want to be that woman telling that guy that. Oh, thank you. And because I have my orange vest on, I get to tell him. that. Okay. Good luck. Good luck. God bless. And who's going to say he has to be quarantined? And what happens when he doesn't? There's no police department or is there? I don't know. I'm saying what happens? Idaho offering $1,500 bonuses to get people to return to work. They're saying that the government is paying people to sit home. So we're going to pay people to get back to work. Gotta happen, right?
Starting point is 00:12:53 You're begging people to get back to work. My gosh. You're begging people to get back to work. And you've already seen the headline where, you know, there may be another stimulus payment, but that's probably going to be the last one. Oh, okay. And you've got the special unemployment rate for people, so a lot of people. And I'd be interested to know the exact number and percentage of that that are making more money than they were working.
Starting point is 00:13:21 I don't know that that's as big. I wonder if that's in this story with the Idaho story, because if they're saying that the government was paying people to sit home and they're making more money, unemployment benefits that not only extended the time workers could receive benefits from 26 to 39 weeks, but also added $600 a week on top of that would normally receive up to four months. Okay, so, yeah, I mean, you're making $600.
Starting point is 00:13:51 more plus your unemployment. You want to go back to work? I mean, I do. But why don't I just ride this out a little bit? Yeah, here in the state of Texas, my sister-in-law, she was telling me that with her unemployment check, because she got laid off. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:11 And what the state was given her, she was like, Chris, I should never go back to work. Right. It makes no sense. She was like, it makes no sense to go back to work because I'm getting doubled than what I was getting paid before. As long as it rides out. Exactly. As long as they're paying.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Yes. As long as they're paying, yes. But, you know, good thing. She's not one of those people. You know, she's in search for a new job. But that's the thinking of the average American. And it goes back to what we talked about three weeks ago of all those people that decided not to pay rent when they still could pay. pay rent and now here comes
Starting point is 00:14:53 Olaf the landlord and his Russian mafia people saying it's time to pay Olaf yes Olaf yes not to be confused with Olaf from Frozen yeah no no no no we're talking about the Russian
Starting point is 00:15:08 this is the Russian Olaf you know landlord yeah the evil landlord that now he's like hey I saw you on NYU on the news riding at the Adidas in the Nike store. So give me my money or give me those new Nike's. I'm guessing this is just a thought for me. And I could be wrong. Okay. There's no question I could be wrong. But I'm guessing that if you
Starting point is 00:15:32 rent from Olaf, you know you need to make your rent payment. Oh, absolutely. I mean, I don't think that you are not paying Olaf even during the recession, even during the lockdown. Olaf is coming to get his money. I want more money. Yeah. But Olaf, the government says, that I don't have to pay you right now. You can't kick me out. Uh-huh. Okay. I have a feeling that Olaf wouldn't abide by that.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Now, yeah. Thank you. You're right. I can't kick you out. Hello. We found a couple bodies moved out of a house. So, you know, maybe Bill, the landlord is letting you slide. I don't think Olaf is.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Okay. But no, it just, it's. sad that now everybody is no longer saying, hey, I want to go back to work. We've, between COVID-19 and BLM and Blue Lives Matter and the protests and Donald Trump and all these people, everybody is, everybody has given up and said, you know what, screw it. I'm going to stay home. Governor Abbott has given me an extra $600. Trump has given me $1,200.
Starting point is 00:16:49 the unemployment is giving me, you know, $1,400. If I just stay at home, it's even better right now. I know. And I know that thinking, but, you know, for example, today is, you know, I know Glenn is going against the stock market, is being inflated, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I don't want to listen to that far. That's been inflated by the Fed, Chris.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Have you not listened? I don't want to listen. This is when I turn my head and say, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la. I don't care. But for example, today, Tesla just hit $1,000 a share. And now, Nicola, which I don't think we talked about on the air. No, we haven't talked about Nicola yet.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Go ahead. We can talk about Nickle. Okay. So Nicholas. Because it takes me away from talking about what disbanding the police actually is going to look like. Okay. Good. Because I was listening to yesterday's podcast, and we got really dark at the end.
Starting point is 00:17:46 It's going to get dark. And then not only. All right. You want to see what? Look at Mexico. We already, we have reports of Antifa occupying neighborhoods in Germany and Athens and across the globe. And now they're starting to take over cities here.
Starting point is 00:18:02 It's coming. You know. It's coming. And if you just stay home and collect your extra 600 bucks, I mean, I don't know. Is that the best move? Stay home and collect your 600 bucks and hope that you live in a, in an area that's a go zone with police departments? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:20 Well, not just that. Do you risk, let's say you live in Minneapolis or you live in Chicago, do you risk your life by going to work? Because by the time I hit downtown, do I have to knock out the door at the warlord and said, hey, I need passage to go to work. Yeah. Oh, no, you can't go to work because you're white. No, but like I got to feed my family. Yeah, tough. Not here.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Sorry, you're white. You can't come in here. Matter of fact, matter of fact, you got about two minutes before. the rest of my team sees you. Absolutely. So you better turn and run. Absolutely. But anyways, so Nicola is a brand new company that just went public on June 3rd, and they're
Starting point is 00:19:00 kind of challenging Tesla, Elon Musk's company. Well, they're following his blue book, right? Yeah, absolutely. So right now, they landed contracts. They got money from the Department of Energy. Well, last night into the evening, Elon sent. a letter because Nicola kept getting all these
Starting point is 00:19:22 contracts from M. Washer Bush and all these companies ordering 80 trucks, 800 trucks, 80 million trucks. Like, I just want trucks. Elon sent a letter saying, okay. Hey, let's revamp production and let's go for it.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Well, yeah, look, and look, not long ago, I mean, I have the story in the fat pile somewhere of where he talked about wanting to focus on space, right? And that was a big headline where Elon told his people, hey, we're going to focus on space. We're going to focus on going to Mars. And so that took away from the, you know, his automotive side.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Right? Yep. And so Nicola, you know, took that as, okay, well, I'll just take it off. Let's go live. So once Nicola went live, joined the NASDAD family. And now Nicola went up 108 percent yesterday. Wow. But today it took some shots.
Starting point is 00:20:20 He's down 6% because Tesla is up to $1,000 a share. So if it gets a little bit more than that, I mean, are we going to have soon? Will they just merge? We'll just have Nikola Tesla or Tesla. I would love that. And if I, and you know, me with the money of, I don't know, a billionaire, I will definitely buy me a Tesla and a Nikola. and then me and my wife will drive together at the same time and then oh here comes the Nikola and Tesla
Starting point is 00:20:51 I want to be Nikola today No I want to be Nikola today you be Tesla But if you go to Nikola motors.com I think it is There are trucks Are you on the board now? I'm not on the board but I own shares at both Tesla and Nikola I don't know I'm putting my money behind both ponies
Starting point is 00:21:11 To see what happens at the end of the day Have you put it in? money on Anheiser Bush or Anwiser Bush? Because I'm trying to think if that's the same company or if they're different. They're different. This is the cousin from Mexico. Which, by the way, if we really want to talk about, you know, the stock market, did you know that Walmart Mexico is a thing?
Starting point is 00:21:30 Walmart Mexico? Well, I mean, it's a separate. It's the same under the umbrella of Walmart, but a different entity. It's a different entity. Yeah. And there are swallowing companies on there, man. They're doing that whole Walmart thing. Why not?
Starting point is 00:21:43 I mean, that's the Walmart plant. That's the Walmart plan, right? And they do it under the guise of we're not doing it. Yes, exactly. Yes. I love that. We're doing it, but we'll take Juanita's bodega and we'll take Julio's bodega. And there's still the bodega, but it's just under umbrella Walmart.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Yeah, well, they did that. You know, like with, I had one guy explain to me as an example of how they go about doing it. So let's say you own a water company, a bottle water company, all right? And I'm Walmart. And I go, hey, Chris, I want you to make bottled water for Walmart. And you say, yes, absolutely. I'm going to be, man, we're, let's go. Because you see this, you know, great deal, right?
Starting point is 00:22:37 Producing goods for Walmart and making a fortune for you and your family and people that work for you. so and and Walmart says yes we'll take you know eight billion bottles of water and use up your production and you up your message and you get out as much as you can but uh Walmart takes the longest amount of time to pay you for your goods okay so if you can't stay alive financially before Walmart pays you and I feel like I want to say it was 90 days, but some of them seemed to be longer than 90 days, whatever the contract was or whatever the deal was that they had to, you know, like the last day that they had to possibly pay you, they would wait until that time. So that if you go to Walmart and say, hey, I am dying.
Starting point is 00:23:30 Like, you know, I can't, I'm meeting your needs right now, but I can't afford it anymore because I have to pay my people. I have to keep my buildings open. I can't, I can't do it. I'm going to, I'm going to shut down. Oh, you are? Well, we'll, we'll buy it from you. We'll take it. We'll take it. No problem. Do you want to continue to run it or do you just want us to take it over for you? And so, I mean, it's a, you know, I know that's business. I get it. I know, but it does sound, you know, the little Walmartish shaky, you know. It's just a way to seemingly kick someone when they're down. And, you know, but, you know, but, you know, it's just a way to seemingly kick someone when they're down and they're the ones who put you down. It's just a good for them.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Capitalism. I love it. I love capitalism. All right. Let's go to the break room. I need a drink of Coca-Cola zero desperately. It was Blaze TV and more important than ever to do so now. So I see a story that talks about a Harvard professor says, I'm sorry, a researcher, that the most emotionally intelligent people have 12 traits the same. And then it asks, of course, you know, what do you have? and the emotional intelligence domain and core competencies.
Starting point is 00:27:37 So he's got four windows, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management. And under those four windows, he has 12 traits that, you know, emotional, intelligent people, successful people all have. One is emotional. Now, I hope you have these. Because if you don't, if you don't, there's no way that you can, have, be emotionally intelligent, successful. And you want to be emotionally intelligent, successful, right? Of course you do. Emotional self-awareness, you got to have that. Emotional self-control, adaptability, achievement orientation, positive outlook. I mean, so far,
Starting point is 00:28:26 it's all me. I'm there. I can, I'm an emotionally intelligent success story so far. We've gotten through five. Empathy. Ooh, it's a tough one. Organizational awareness. I do have organizational awareness. I don't necessarily organize, but I do have organizational awareness. Influence.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Ooh, that one hurts. Yeah, I don't have much influence. Coach and mentor. Yeah, that's tough too. Conflict management. Yeah, I don't care. Just fight it out. Teamwork.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Inspirational leadership. So if you have those 12, you are emotionally intelligent. Emotional self-awareness, emotional self-control, adaptability, achievement orient, positive outlook, empathy, organizational awareness, influence, coach and mentor, conflict management, teamwork, inspirational leadership. Okay, there you go. Now you know. Now you know if you are emotionally intelligent or not. I hope you are. I'm guessing that most of us look at those 12 and go.
Starting point is 00:29:35 And I can pull a couple off. But why do I want to, why do I care about that? Right? Why? I don't know. I don't know why. But do you want to be emotionally intelligent? That's the other question, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:29:53 So here's something you look forward to. And I am right along with you on this. I'm looking forward to this. A change in the meaning of a word in the Miriam Webster's Dictionary. Now, what change am I talking about? Well, the definition of racism, of course. The dictionary right now defines racism as a belief that race is the primary detriment of human traits and capacities. and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.
Starting point is 00:30:44 Now, according to Kennedy Mitcham, and she just graduated with a degree in law, politics, and society. Not sure the whole society is, but she graduated with a degree in it. She believes that that is too simple. It's too surface level. And she wants them to change the definition in the dictionary. She told them they need to include that there is systematic oppression on people. It's not just I don't like someone. It's a system of oppression for a certain group of people.
Starting point is 00:31:32 Now, she is, you know, the young activist, so she took after Marianne Webber. She's been emailing them. And finally, Alex Chambers, the editor of Miriam Webster Dictionary, said, okay, okay. And he said, stop emailing me. You got it, okay? We got it. We're going to, we're going to revise our definition. Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:58 And that revision would not have been made possible without your persistence in contacting us. So, this is how Alex has. had or stopped emailing them by saying we appreciate it thank you and we apologize for the harm and offense we have caused and failing to address this issue sooner it was one person i will see to it that an entry for racism is given the attention it sorely needs now he couldn't give a date on upcoming publications uh when the revision will be in the dictionary but But it's coming. And he apologized for it not being there already.
Starting point is 00:32:43 So all you got to do is just continue to email and let people know that you're a voice in the wilderness. And the dictionary will change for you too. That's just good to know. It's just darn good to know, isn't it? Yes. Yes, it is. I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:33:08 More good news, though. We talked a little bit about some companies doing well in the time of need. Hertz rental car company was filed for bankruptcy just a few weeks ago. It was back up. Gained 150% first of the week. The stock market is through the roof. Things are good. Apple?
Starting point is 00:33:30 I started to show off with an Apple joke. I may end it with the same joke, actually. it's at a record high worth over a trillion dollars wow that's that's amazing uh now those of you that work for BP uh you know I know they're getting ready to cut about 10,000 jobs so if you're looking for a gig dunk a donut says franchisees are going to hire up to 25,000 employees you got a shot there you got a shot being uh contact tracer for the CDC. They said they needed, the guy went before Congress, the head of the CDC, and said roughly we
Starting point is 00:34:15 need between 30 and 100,000 people as contact tracers. The previous CDC director said they needed 300,000 contact tracers. So, I mean, they're going to be hiring. CDC is going to be looking for people soon. Count on it. All right? I find it fascinating that how fast when they want to Google Maps updates and get things done because they've already, we saw how the Black Lives Matter Plaza and the painting in Washington, D.C., on the street,
Starting point is 00:34:56 and the whole deal with Black Lives Matter, it's on Google Maps already. They're on top of it, which is good. which is good, right? Right. And now we have a snap map under the, you know, the snap chat feature, the snap map. Apparently, you know, it shows large congregations of snap users while the stories give real time on the ground update. So you're able to see where all the people are that have Snapchat up and running. You can see that really the heat maps.
Starting point is 00:35:32 So, I mean, that's kind of good for you. You know, coronavirus warriors, heat maps, all part of it. We also have the company that is helping you protesters out. What did I do with that? So I read something about this, I don't know, a couple weeks ago, and now it's coming to the forefront again. The product support for cell phones is letting people know what they have to do during the protests, which is great.
Starting point is 00:36:01 I mean, you don't want to be trapped. Yeah, it's like, you do not want to be trapped. Seven things you need to do before go on protest. So if you bring a cell phone, which they're saying, you know, maybe you don't bring your cell phone, okay? You bring a prepaid dummy phone with a number to your attorney or who's ever going to pay your bills. But you don't bring your own phone. So your own phone isn't tracked. Your phone is back at mom and dad's house.
Starting point is 00:36:30 It's not with you. Mom and dad. Did I say that? So you want to turn off your biometric login. Makes sense. Right? Since you wear masks? You might forget that.
Starting point is 00:36:41 You wear masks so you can't, you know, face ID. You want to record from behind the lock screen. You do not want to open that phone. Wow. Both Android and iOS allow you to use your camera without unlocking the phone. So, you know, you think about that and you go, yeah, that's right. They do. They do.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Oh, incredible. So just remember that. All right. when you're out protesting. You want to disable. This is most, I mean, this is one of the top reasons.
Starting point is 00:37:10 You want to disable the location tracking. The Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cell service, you want to disable that. You do not want to be able to be tracked. When you're banging out windows and going down side streets and destroying property,
Starting point is 00:37:22 you don't want to be tracked. Okay. Now, if you want to message your friends, and you want to say, hey, I'm over here on Blue Street, and we're about to kill that cop. I'm sorry?
Starting point is 00:37:36 We're about to kill that cop. So can you meet us on the corner of blue and green? I wasn't even going to murder somebody. I was going to say we're about to take this shoe store down. No, no, no, no, no. I'm right here. We're about to kill a cop. So if you meet me at the corner of blue and green screen on green street.
Starting point is 00:37:55 We're not about to kill anything. But I'm just saying that what you want to do is use a secure messaging app. Which this is why I refuse to answer Keith text messages. Because if you read number four that you just went about, it talks about if you're using iMessage, your messages to other I messages are encrypted by default. There you go. But text to those pesty little green bubble folks are not. So if I'm having a conversation with Keith with, I'm not until he gets a.
Starting point is 00:38:31 blue phone, a.k.a. iMessage, aka iPhone. I'm not going to talk to Keith. Wow. I mean, as a side note, I mean, I don't have an iPhone and I don't necessarily want to talk to Keith. Okay, so the next thing you want to do is keep your photos from tracking you. That's an important thing to have on most of the time anyway. Yeah, especially if you're at the, I don't know, Apple store stealing iPhones. You do not want to take a picture at the Apple store. Right. Well, you want to take your picture. You just don't want them to know you're at the
Starting point is 00:39:12 Apple store. Yes. Yes. Right. So when they see the picture, they can see, oh, are they at the Apple store? And if they arrest you, you could say, no, I was at home. Exactly. That's in my basement. What are you're talking about? You want to turn off lock screen notifications. If you're, this is, these are, if you bring your own phone. Yes. First and foremost, you just the easiest thing to do and then the last thing of course is add emergency information. That's if you have the burner phone. So the easiest thing to do is to get the burner phone. Which by the way, that number six turn off lock screen
Starting point is 00:39:45 notification also goes good if you're trying to cheat on your spouse. Oh, no doubt. You know, you don't want any if you have the notifications, you just don't have the preview on. It just says text message. So, you know, they're helping both sides of the aisle. Those people that want to protest slash riot and the people that want to, you know, go on the site. Because, Jeffrey, you could say, tell me if I'm wrong. Tell me if I'm wrong.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Oh, I will. I will. Going to cheat on your wife? Change these seven phone settings first. Yes. Well, after the first time. Going. Because usually you may not plan on the first time.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Okay. Of the affair and the affair just happens. But after the first time, you know, it's going to happen again. How about this one? It's clearly not a one-time thing. Going to skip on work today? There's no way that, you know, because you and whoever are fooling around at work, and especially now things are getting back to, you know, people are coming back to work
Starting point is 00:40:50 and they've missed each other because they've been locked up in the lockdown. Oh, man. How about this one? going to rob a store change these seven phone settings first going to cheat
Starting point is 00:41:04 work like skip work change these things now now what that's why I say that's when you have you know if you're going to bring your own phone best best case scenario prepaid burner phone
Starting point is 00:41:19 it's just it's just the easy thing to do now I will say this that's not a idea for you that want to have affairs too. Now it's a little a little shaky because you got to keep the burner phone in your briefcase, you know, your spouse might see it and wonder what's going on. How old are you, grandpa? Briefcase. What do you mean? What person is using a briefcase today's is day? A lot of people. Okay. You're talking about nobody's using briefcase, grandpa. What are you talking about? People carry crap around all the time. Backpacks or satchels. They're not carrying
Starting point is 00:41:55 the briefcase. Okay, whatever. That's your briefcase, douche. It's the same thing. When you said briefcase, I mean the big old box that you throw on the table and you put the codes 14, five, seven, and you open it, clunk, clunk. You're done. You know what?
Starting point is 00:42:14 No. No, I am not done. Go ahead. Now I'm done. Okay, that's good. Just get a burner phone. Save your, save yourself. get a burner phone.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Download and subscribe to more content at the blaze.com slash podcasts. All right. Let's do this podcast version of chewing the fat. Thank you so much for subscribing to the podcast. I appreciate it. Chris, my producer, does not appreciate you. But I do. I just want you to know that.
Starting point is 00:42:49 I do. Oh, yeah. I really don't care if they listen or not. Don't even. Okay, I thought you were going to try to back up. Oh, no. I give two. rats, butts about them.
Starting point is 00:42:57 I know. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Especially if you're a loser that doesn't subscribe. Like, what the hell is your problem? You know, if you, like, if you're listening now and you've become a subscriber, prior to you becoming a subscriber, oh, Chris hated you. Well, here's the thing. You have some people that are just, that are just listening without being a subscriber. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:43:20 A freeloading, freeloader. Yes. That's like a double douche. Yeah. Not only are you a freeloader, you are free loading the freeloader. Yes. Holy cow. And it's not that.
Starting point is 00:43:32 It's so simple. You go to iTunes, hit subscribe. You go to Google Podcasts, subscribe. You go to Spotify. You follow. What the hell. Okay. I mean, it's just that simple.
Starting point is 00:43:48 You go to YouTube. And it's free. You follow or subscribe. What are you doing YouTube? Do you subscribe? Sure. Yeah. And then.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Hit on the bell. You hit the little notification bell. Yes. Yeah. It is simple. And it is frustrating. For those of you that are on board now, thank you. But it is frustrating when you weren't on board.
Starting point is 00:44:10 Because it is so simple and you just pissed us off that you didn't do it. By the way, you know, we were talking about Hollywood during the, between the breaks. And I just received, and this is going to make you so angry. So I'm going to definitely say it. I just receive the... All right, hold on, hold on. All right, I'm going to have a drink of soda. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Okay. I just received by the Academy, AKA V Oscars, the Academy elects 2020, 2020, 2021 Board of Governors. Oh. I just received. And we have the first time...
Starting point is 00:44:54 How many people do they have on that? Okay, hold on. I mean, more than a hundred? 17. 17. 17. 17 board of governors.
Starting point is 00:45:05 Wow. That's a lot. Now. Do they pick those? I got to find out. Do they pick? Is that a yearly thing where they picked the board of governors? Yes.
Starting point is 00:45:12 It is? Yes. Okay. Yeah. Now. So it's got to be a woke crowd. Okay. Thank you for saying that.
Starting point is 00:45:19 Because as a result of this election, the numbers of female academy governors increases from 25 to 26. Oh, that's so nice. And people of color, aka POCs, increases... P-L-C. Increases from 11 to 12,
Starting point is 00:45:47 including... Including... So that we do have increases, though. We do. Okay, that's the most important thing. We do have... do have increase. Yeah, plus one.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Sorry, not times one, plus one. Yeah, including the three governors at large. Oh. So.
Starting point is 00:46:09 Those have all got to be African American female. So these are the first time elected to the board. First time. Deborah Zane.
Starting point is 00:46:21 Avana Duvani. Love Deborah. Stephen Rifking. Ivana. Linda. Leinette Taylor and Rod Burdow. Now, those are all. This is the elected to the board for the first time.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Oh yeah, okay. I'm sorry. Yeah, those are not roving reporters. We have the incumbent governors reelected to the board. Ooh. The people are already there hating. Whoopi Goldberg. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:56 And she, I mean, she's egot, man. You're not kicking whoopee off. Mandy Walker. Not sure who that is. Isis Musa Den. I love all. What do you think of, would you think of film? You would think of Isis Moudia.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Kate Amend. Yes, again. Isis and Kate? David Lindy. Christina. Who's the last one? Wait. David Lindy.
Starting point is 00:47:22 No, the one after David. Oh, Christina Kaunelius. Love her. Charles Bernstein. Oh, Wynne Tramice, Terry Dorman, and Larry Kuroswiski.
Starting point is 00:47:37 I love Larry. Either Karwiski or Kawasaki, one of those two. And return into the board after hiatus, John Bloom. Wow. That's incredible. I'm afraid they let,
Starting point is 00:47:55 unless some of them are hidden, under the guise of a Hollywood name. I mean, we have, what, one Jew? As far as they let Bernstein on. How's that possible? How's that possible? When Hollywood is ruled by the Jewish. Okay, well, good.
Starting point is 00:48:16 I mean, good. I hope it's all good. Look, nobody's going to watch it anyway. Nobody watches it anymore anyway. By the way. Especially this year. Oh, my gosh. I'm looking at, you know, because they have a full list and you can go through all of them because this is, those are the important ones that needed to be recognized in an email to all the press.
Starting point is 00:48:37 But if I am, I don't know, a POC, I'm not happy with that list. There is not, it's not equal at all. And by the way, the governors at large are devourable. Von Franklin, Rodrigo Garcia, and Janet Yang. So you have a black, a brown, and a yellow. Those are the Rogan reporters? Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:07 Okay. And those are the ones, so according to this, the governors at large, are nominated by the president and elected by the board. I mean, it's, look, the film and TV production are just getting restarted again anyway. Yeah. Netflix has been filming in Europe for, I don't know, at least. two or three weeks now, you know, revamping. But now they're talking about Hollywood is starting up in a couple of days, this weekend.
Starting point is 00:49:37 They're going to start being able to film again and start shooting under the, you know, COVID-19, you know, protocols, which is, you know, lockdown set-wise. And this is, and if you're used to having the, you know, all the free food from the buffets, yeah, I mean, you're still going to get the free food, but they're going to be in little containers. They can't just be a buffet. So, I mean, sure, you're going to get the free food, but you're going to have to have a separate little containers,
Starting point is 00:50:11 which is just agonizing. For me, as an actor, on set, it just takes more time for me to eat the food. That's just silly. It's just silly. And it's going to change. They already talked about how it's going to, going to change
Starting point is 00:50:29 shooting scenes and, you know, doing, it's going to be, I hope they can pull it off. I hope they can pull it off. But I have a feeling that until they,
Starting point is 00:50:45 I don't know, I don't know, it's just going to be kind of weird. Oh, white, they have a 22-page report. Oh, do I have to read that? I know we're just talking off the cuff here now, but I didn't see a 22-page report for the task force out of this because they're talking about all the changes, of course. You know, they're training in hand-washing practices.
Starting point is 00:51:07 I mean, Hollywood, I know you're dumb. I know you're dumb. But really, we're training in hand-washing practices? Come on now. It's bad enough that I have to suffer through the, and they even say, the elimination of buffet-style food service. You know, that hurts them. That hurts them.
Starting point is 00:51:30 They don't want to have the little styrofoam containers full of food. They want the buffet and just walk up and get it, but you can't have it now. No, where is the 22-page industry-wide labor management safety tastes? Well, we're reading that today. I want to see their guidelines. There's got to be some really, really good stuff. There's a full page on hand hygiene. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:51:55 I know Hollywood. Stop. dumb, but food and beverages, the whole page on food and beverages and water and serving. Oh my gosh. That's a big thing, man. And, oh, I cannot wait. Protecting and supporting cast and crew, health and safety. This is going to be good.
Starting point is 00:52:12 I apologize. We're going to be reading that. Okay. So we talked a little bit about what's happening with Tesla and Nicola, but we also have a new company, Chris, for you, buddy. Okay. Okay. called Lillium. It's a flying taxi startup,
Starting point is 00:52:31 Lillium. And a top Tesla investor is investing in this too. So this person, this Bally Gifford, and if Bally wants to invest in some cutting edge technology with chewing the fat of Jeff Fisher, we're here for you.
Starting point is 00:52:52 We're here for you, Ballet, because the investments from Bally Gifford, they've invested in SpaceX, Amazon, Tesla, and they put $35 million into this Lillium company from Germany for the flying taxi. Which, by the way, you know, scoring the... Wow, Lillium has raised $375 million. That sounds like a lot, but for a flying taxi business,
Starting point is 00:53:23 375 million that's chump change well not just that is if you read more it talks about how the firm now secured a valuation of more than a billion dollars yeah but they still need more money they can be valued at whatever the hell they want but they got to have some operating cash uh that's
Starting point is 00:53:41 i mean 375 million i spit at 325 million man Elon if ballot Gifford came to me and said hey we want to invest 375 million and chewing the fat get out of here which by the way all that money that Elon just dump on that flying taxi he owns 18.5% of the company
Starting point is 00:54:00 well no I don't it wasn't it wasn't Elon that invested in them although he may have according to this yeah he owns 18.5 then I'm looking at a different story because this story talks about the Bailey Gifford which is a investment firm that invested in Tesla
Starting point is 00:54:21 but not it didn't talk about Eli, I wouldn't surprise me. I mean, of course, I mean, absolutely is very possible. And I wouldn't be surprised at all. And why shouldn't it? I mean, Nicola and Tesla should be dumping cash into this too, too. Right?
Starting point is 00:54:40 They should be having the electric, you know, flying taxis. I'm guessing, though, a little disappointing. And this is just, you know, just a thought. All right. If they were to come to me, I would say maybe they should invest in maybe, you know, a fat guy flying taxi. You know how much electricity takes to take you from Fort Worth to Dallas? No, I don't. Could you tell me?
Starting point is 00:55:03 A lot. How much did Elon invest? Is that a technical electrical term? Let me see. Elon invested 35 million in lithium. 10 million is just to get you in there with a seatbelt. That hurts. That hurts.
Starting point is 00:55:20 By the way, it's pretty cool. I just want to get in and be flown to my destination. It's a five-seater jet that could travel. up to 186 in one hour. Wow. Yeah, you're doing some distance. You are doing distance. I know.
Starting point is 00:55:34 And that's what we talked about, you know, the flying cars too, right? So you're going to have to, when you have drone deliveries and you have flying taxis. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:55:45 you have to start specifying who belongs at what altitude. Yeah. And you're going to have to, and what area, right? Are you going to fly that over a no-go zone?
Starting point is 00:55:55 Do. Oh, crap. You're right. we have no go zones uh no you're not just going to fly over mania app and by the way have you noticed that most of this no go zones are the cities where all these companies are like saying hey invest invest so we can make your life much easier on all these cities because right now one of the uh concept arts for lilium on the website is the the the five passenger jet traveling
Starting point is 00:56:24 106 miles in one hour and that looks like the New York yes it does it looks remarkably like New York and what is that over there oh that's New Jersey
Starting point is 00:56:35 is that New Jersey yes is that what the statue of Liberty is too like oh you want to listen to me that reminds me now holy cow you think
Starting point is 00:56:49 that the protesters. For those of you watching live, you said putting protesters in parentheses. But I'm telling you, what's the last statute to fall? Statue of Liberty. You aren't lying, man.
Starting point is 00:57:06 And when that's that Statue Liberty falls, it's not going to be like someone pushing it. That's going to be some explosives. Yep. They are going to, and I don't, this is off the record. Because I don't want it to happen.
Starting point is 00:57:20 Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Before you say off the record message, what does that mean off the record? Nobody's listening. Just delete it. Get rid of it. Just between us. Oh, yeah. Okay. Hold on. Let me start the recording. Yeah, it's just between us. Okay. It's not recording now. Would you start? I mean, they're already toppling the statues, just the hateful racist statues that they perceive to be the hateful, righteous statues and monuments that were built, you know,
Starting point is 00:57:50 to build up these people that, you know, are believed now to be horrible people, right? And they were put up like, here in Tarrant County, the county we live in, they're taking down the big statue in front of the Tarrant County Courthouse now, because it was put up in 1953, and it was put up according to the powers that be to show that the white people are still in charge over the black people, even though the black people are, okay, okay. Now, even if that's true. You live a sad life if you believe that is the truth. Even if that's true that in 1953, they said, well, we got to let the blacks know that we're still in charge.
Starting point is 00:58:33 And so we're going to build this statue and that's going to show them. We're going to build this Confederacy statue and that's going to show them. Even if that is true. All right, let's just say that's true. Is that what it means now? No. Yes. I mean, no. No one sees that statue now and believes that. And if you do, you're right, Chris. They have a sad life. If you have a sad life, if you're the one looking at that statue and saying that means that they're keeping down the brother. And at the end of the day, Jeff Fish, I feel like we're beating this stupid. I know. I know. Over and over and over again. But at the end of the day, if you were raised in a family that gave you no hope and all they told you is the reason why we can't.
Starting point is 00:59:17 succeed is because the white man and the white man and the white man, how can you, can you blame those kids that are on the streets right now saying, you know, all the garbage of the state in front of the white man? You can't blame them. I know, and you can't blame them because then even if they were raised that way, then they went to school and they weren't taught anything different in school. They might not have been taught that, but they weren't taught anything different. No. They were just, you know, there was, there was no history taught because they didn't want, they didn't want to teach any history that might have something bad in it. Well, all history has something bad in it.
Starting point is 00:59:53 Get over it. Yes. Learn what it is. So we don't even know what the history is. So you can't blame them. But you can't, I have to blame somebody for destroying structural progress. No, absolutely. Yes, we can blame them for that.
Starting point is 01:00:08 But then that's when you, you know, you grab them by the neck and you shake them up and you say, Yo, dude, stop it. I know, and I hope that that becomes true because I don't see that happening. Which is what the, again, we go back to what we said yesterday, which is what Alderman Lopez from Chicago was trying to do. He was trying to send the Christians and try to make them be the middleman and saying, dude, snap out of it. And I thought out, I talked a little.
Starting point is 01:00:41 I think I mentioned it this morning when I played the audio, but I found out that Mayor, uh, uh, light foot, light feather, light heart, whatever a freaking name is.
Starting point is 01:00:52 Light, she actually acquiesced a little to the Lopez deal after that because that day, the 31st, the day of that phone call was one of the worst murder days in Chicago's history since early 60s. Wow. So after that, she acquiesced to more security. They hired a private,
Starting point is 01:01:11 security firm to come in and stand in front of businesses and try to detour the looting. Only they weren't to be armed. They were just there as extra. So they were just like a security guard, I mean a crossing guard. Don't, please don't hurt this building. Are you kidding me? It's not worth it. Go on and on.
Starting point is 01:01:36 I know. I'm sorry. Hey. Who are supposed to end up with a joke? Can you end there with a joke? I'll tell you the real joke. I tried to nicen it up a little at the beginning. So I got to remember the actual real joke.
Starting point is 01:01:51 So, hey, well, I don't know why you can't fart in the Apple building? Because they don't have any windows. Thank you. Be here all week.
