Starting point is 00:00:00 And now, a Blaze Media podcast. Welcome to it. This story will never know if they followed the rules. We can only hope that they did. We can believe that they did. So U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents seized 78 pounds of cocaine. They claimed worth more than a million dollars after it washed up on a Florida beach. So last Monday, a beachgoer on Hollywood Beach in Hollywood, Florida.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Florida discovered 30 packages containing the cocaine along the shoreline. She called the sunbather. I don't know if it was a she or a he, called the police and agents with the U.S. Border Patrol Miami sector and they, you know, seized up the narcotics. Thankfully, the U.S. Border Patrol Miami sector, John Modin said that the 78 pounds of drugs didn't make it into our community. Well, I would hope. I would only hope that there were more than this that washed ashore.
Starting point is 00:01:10 And this is what was turned in. Because, wow. You see these blocks washing up on the beach? And you don't snag a few? Wow, I thought this was America. I mean, we're making busts. No doubt. about it. We busted $6 million worth of cocaine on a, what they're calling a go-fast smuggling boat
Starting point is 00:01:40 in the Caribbean. They arrested three people and they were smuggling, you know, they got busted well on the smuggling boat because of a routine patrol in the Caribbean Sea. So the suspicious boat was spotted, Navy helicopter crew from the USS Kid working with the Coast Guard, they flew over it they tried to evade capture they threw eight bales overboard well we got nothing on us the smugglers were the Dominican Republic
Starting point is 00:02:12 and the others from Columbia and they were taken to San Juan Puerto Rico where they would be taken into custody by customs officials so we busted that and we busted we found four million dollars worth a pot near Laredo
Starting point is 00:02:27 this story I kind of like because they agents discovered several bundles of marijuana scattered in a grassy area near a warehouse property. Huh. Really? That's how they stumbled
Starting point is 00:02:43 across it. And then the search of the immediate area resulted in more bundles stacked around and oh yeah, inside that box trailer too. I mean and I'm okay with them. You know, the boss. Not really.
Starting point is 00:02:59 But we just, they just happen to lay them around in this field. And then, oh, yeah, we got a bunch of them from this box trailer too. Okay. Thanks, guys. Keep up the good work. And I will say, the only way that we can, we can only hope that the, that the cocaine that washed up on the Florida beaches was, you know, the people who found it were following CTF rules. You know, and that, you know the rules. You find stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:03:29 You take what you want and you turn in the rest. So it looks as though you've been cooperating. And then you got to keep a low profile. You know, the people that took this cocaine, the beach, oh, I'm sorry, the sunbather, you got to lay low. You might be able to use a little for your own personal use. But don't, don't go out on the street and try to sell it because... otherwise known as El Chapo will not look fondly upon you.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Joaquin Ashivaldo, Guzman Loera. Did you know that you cannot drive around naked in Oklahoma? I know, right? So, you know, not long ago, we talked about how Taco Bell was trying to reinvent their restaurants with the drive-through and the app and pulling up and people getting their food with having to go in and social distancing. Well, apparently, a man in Oklahoma was hungry and wanted to go to Taco Bell. So Saturday night, he's doing his laundry, according to him.
Starting point is 00:04:44 He's got no clean clothes. He's naked. And so he hops in his car, drives to Taco Bell. And he goes through the drive-thru. He paid for his order, and then realized, oh, no, I need another taco. So he ordered another taco. One of the employees, not comfortable with this. And another employee gave him the additional taco.
Starting point is 00:05:06 So I'll give him the taco. Don't worry about it. Give him the taco. I mean, the man paid for it. And then he asked for more sauce and still not leaving the drive-thru. Then he asked for napkins after receiving the sauce. Then he left the drive-thru. And then he came back through the drive-thru to ask for more sauce.
Starting point is 00:05:24 Now, that's when the police were called and they were able to detain. him. He said, and he said, I'm hungry. My clothes were in the washer. I didn't know it was against the law to drive naked. You know what else should be against the law? Is the drive-thru attendance who aren't giving you enough condiments and napkins as you go through the drive-thru? That's the real issue here. If Taco Bell is going to start with their new app and their drive-thru and their drive-up service, people need napkins and condiments. And you shouldn't have to ask more than once for extra condiments and napkins. I mean, that's clear.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Whether you're naked or not. I mean, doesn't seem strange that you hop in your car naked and run through the drive-thru? Sure. I'll give you that. But, I mean, other than that, what was the man doing wrong? I'll tell you what he was doing wrong. having to ask for more napkins and more condiments more than once.
Starting point is 00:06:33 That is ridiculous. That needs to be addressed in the training process at Taco Bell from now on. And what kind of prude is working through a drive-thru that a naked guy... See, originally, that's where he got in trouble though he came back. He was good. He was good that first time through, but then he came back. And it's like, even then, that's when the employees, I think, were like, okay dude
Starting point is 00:06:56 we got it now we're gonna call the police all right I feel like the first time through you're good the first time through the employees are like those dude's naked out here wants another taco
Starting point is 00:07:09 yeah I'm giving it to him here you I want to see him naked anyway and you throw him the taco and he says thanks now you should have just at that time giving him the condiments he asked for without wamping around with you
Starting point is 00:07:21 I can only give you one napkin and one mild sauce with each particular particular item that you own. I asked for extra. I want extra. I've gotten into a few drive-through squabbles with people over that. I can only give you.
Starting point is 00:07:39 I asked for extra ketchup. Extra ketchup doesn't mean two. Sorry to disappoint you. It doesn't mean two packets of ketchup. Okay? I asked for it now I've broken. I just need a handful of extra ketchup. And they even still even balk at that.
Starting point is 00:07:59 You know, they end up giving you two or three. And I'm like, no, I want a handful of extra ketchup. I want extra ketchup. So I can well understand. There's some training process needs to happen at Taco Bell. Naked or no naked customer. I mean, that's a fact. That's a chewing the fat fact.
Starting point is 00:08:22 That is a fat fact. Boy, speaking of facts, people are getting in trouble with their bills. And man, is it sad? I was just reading a story about the power companies who are now going to start cutting off power to not only businesses, but homes, residential apartments to people who haven't been paying or are not up to date. a lot of the places start this month. I mean, today, if you're listening live, is September 1st, 2020. And so it's incredible that so many people are without,
Starting point is 00:09:12 well, they've been either paying or they had the money from the government with the extended unemployment benefits, which had been reduced and not going. So residents in Ohio, Florida, Maryland, Indiana, Illinois are all at risk of shutoffs in early September. And they can resume again shutoffs in late September or October in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. And then I understand what a struggle it is for thousands of people who are out of work by no fault of their own.
Starting point is 00:09:48 I know. I know. I got it. Don't look at me like that. I understand completely. There are always going to be people struggling. I know that. And we cannot help everyone.
Starting point is 00:10:01 And, you know, I know. And there is help out there for, you know, a lot of people. But the numbers are staggering. I mean, some of the stories, of course, that they tell are the people who are really, really struggling. And one lady is saying, you know, she's decided not to pay because she can't pay the rent. and if she can't pay the rent, what's the use of paying the power? Because I'm not going to have a place to live.
Starting point is 00:10:27 So nobody gets their money. And she's talking about taking her kids and being homeless, standing on a street corner. I mean, that's just sad. One couple talked about losing the money from the government. So now they're just giving $100 here, $100 there, and hoping and praying for the best. Other people are deciding that food is more important than power.
Starting point is 00:10:51 You know, or they're, you know, one month that's food, the next month it's medicine, the next month it's power, the next month it's rent. However, however they're trying to work through it. So, of course, you know, they give you the horror stories. I understand. But according to this data, 10% of U.S. households are so far behind on their bills, they're at risk of termination when the moratoriums end. Wow.
Starting point is 00:11:17 That's around 34.5 million people could live. lose their utility shutoff protections this month. Duke Energy serves 7.8 million customers across seven states in the southeast and Midwest. It says that 300,000 of its customers are 60 days or more behind their gas or electric bills. In early August, Florida Power and Light said that 258,000 customers were behind on payments. there's no time frame on how far behind. Tampa Electric said 92,000 of its customers were behind. One public interest group said that in June,
Starting point is 00:12:02 800,000 Pennsylvanians were at risk of service termination. More than 300,000 residential households in Minnesota were passed due by the end of July. Wow. The impending wave of shutoffs is more sign of how the economic measures up to Americans who have lost their job. no kidding. That's incredible.
Starting point is 00:12:26 And you start turning people's power off. Something that they believed. I mean, we've become accustomed to walking in a room and flicking the switch. And voila, there's light. Times are, holy cow. Holy cow. we've got to help some people somehow. I mean, we've got to do our best to help these people.
Starting point is 00:12:57 I don't know. I don't know how. I don't know. You know, there's plenty of, I mean, Mercury 1 is there. There's plenty of other places that help people around the country and around the world. But America, I don't know what I'm sounding like now. I'm just talking off the top of my head because those are staggering numbers. And we're not used to having kids.
Starting point is 00:13:23 candles for light. And, I mean, maybe that's what you do, right? You don't pay the power bell and you use candles and you open the windows. And, you know, I mean, even though it's, you know, the surface of the sun in Texas, that's, you know, you live. You live in, you keep the roof over your head and you just live without power. I don't know what, I don't know how. You know, refrigerators, freezers, your food, I don't know. I don't know how you I don't know what you just have to do it right and then you comes back around to probably there's probably rules and laws and regulations and mandates that said you have to have power you can't live in this neighborhood unless you have power well I can't pay for the power I can't pay for the power I can't pay for the power I don't know I mean prayers are needed and this coming from chewing the fat I know
Starting point is 00:14:24 Holy cow, I got to stop listening to Glenn Beck. Now that having been said, good news comes from Amazon that they are now able to start drone deliveries. They received their certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration this past weekend, bringing it closer. They've got their certificate, which is called Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate, which apparently has to be held
Starting point is 00:14:56 before a company begins drone deliveries Amazon said, hey, we're going to start testing deliveries soon. Hey Amazon, do it here in DFW. Let's go. Let's go. I want, I want,
Starting point is 00:15:14 and I've talked about it before, I want to be able to order toothpaste and have it dropped off at my house. I don't want to wait for Bill or Julio to drop it off out front. I don't want to wait
Starting point is 00:15:30 for it to go through eight different sets of hands from the Amazon take it off the truck at the Amazon warehouse put it on the shelf, put it on a cart, put it in a car, have the car delivered. I know that's too long. Oh my gosh, that's too long.
Starting point is 00:15:48 I want to be able to order something, have a guy set it on a drone, and deliver it to my house. That's what I want. I want to be able to order something, and when I get my confirmation email or text from Amazon, I want the product already at my front door.
Starting point is 00:16:15 And of course, it's not going to happen that fast. You know that. We've talked about it before. But they're getting closer. They're getting closer. They're getting closer. I mean, it's been a number of years now since they've been talking about this drone deliveries, and it still hasn't happened.
Starting point is 00:16:32 So we'll see. I mean, we have UPS and Wing, you know, a subsidiary of alphabet, you know, Google. So, I mean, UPS has been making medical deliveries at two North Carolina hospitals, also delivering prescriptions from a CVS in the villages in Florida, according to a UPS spokesman. So Wing launched its drone delivery in Virginia last year. So, I mean, we're getting closer. We're getting closer.
Starting point is 00:17:06 And we're also getting closer to having drones flying everywhere. So be on the lookout. Be on the lookout. And be sure, and this is a must, if a drone drops something off in your yard, on the road where you're driving, you know, out front of your house, that's not your product, whatever you do, don't, it's not yours. It's not yours.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Don't do it. Call and turn it in. Just like you would if you found something on the beach. Call and turn it in. Got it? Okay. I wouldn't want you to take anything that's not yours. at least all of it anyway.
Starting point is 00:17:51 All right, let's go to the break room. I need a drink of something cold as it is. Oh my gosh. So good. For those of you listening to this show right now, and thank you, I appreciate it, this show being Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher. If you're listening and not a subscriber to the podcast,

Starting point is 00:20:34 Okay? So blazedtv.com slash jeffy. And you can use the promo code, Jeffie. Or you can try the promo code. I think it's big tech. We'll get you more off. You know, Glenn's got a special that he airs every Wednesday. and they throw in a special code
Starting point is 00:20:52 usually weekly to get you a couple more bucks off the subscribership, the membership. So I think it's big tech because that's what they're attacking this week. I mean, that's what they're, you know, educating on this week on Glenn's Wednesday special. So it's blazediv.com
Starting point is 00:21:09 or get.blazedtv.com slash jeffy, promo code jeffy. And there you go. You're good to go. You are so on your way to being a better, person, it is remarkable. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Is that on chewing the fat, because when CTF records, news happens. So let's go to our reporter live on the street in Bentonville, Arkansas today. Bentonville, Arkansas for the breaking news. Jeff, is that you? It sure is, Jeffrey, I'm out here in front of Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Starting point is 00:22:29 And I'm just finally getting the news that the Walmart Plus subscription service is going to be made available September 15th, just 14 days away from today. Wow, that's great. I mean, we've been looking forward to the Walmart Plus program. We've asked numerous times here on the show when it was going to be available. They claimed it was going to be available in July. Any reports on what the delay was?
Starting point is 00:22:59 No, they were just saying that they were going to get to it and they wanted to get it right. So they're going to start it on the 15th of September. It's going to run $98 a year or $12.95 a month. and they also said you're going to be able to get a 15-day free trial. Wow. Did they say anything like what you were going to get with it at all? They sure did. I said you were going to get limited free delivery.
Starting point is 00:23:30 In-store prices as fast as the same day, and more 160,000 items. You were going to be able to scan and go, unlock the scan and go in the Walmart app, you know, like they do at Sam's Club already. You're going to get fuel discounts at nearly 2,000 Walmart, Murphy, USA, and Murphy Express fuel stations. And they said Sam's Club stations will soon be added to this lineup. So if you think the line is long and you're paying extra for Sam's Club,
Starting point is 00:23:57 now you're going to be able to get gas at Sam's Club if you get the Walmart card as well. I don't know if you have to have both. They didn't comment on that and I forgot to ask, well, thanks, Jeff, for being there. I wish you'd go back inside and ask if, If I have one or the other, can I continue to use? Is my Sam's Club card going to be able to use at Murphy's to get the discount? Or do I need to get the discount from Murphy's with my Walmart card? Plus, I think if you already have a Walmart credit card,
Starting point is 00:24:26 you can get that discount by getting gas with that card as well at Murphy. But that's okay. Thanks, Jeff, for reporting live. That's breaking news here on chewing the fat Jeff Fisher reporting live from Bentonville, Arkansas in front of the Walmart. headquarters remember whenever you hear this sounder that's breaking news because when CTF records news happens it's about time that they got that up and running it is I will find that I am a little ticked that if I have a Walmart plus I can still get gas at Sam's Club
Starting point is 00:25:10 a new no let's not do that because if I'm a Sam's Club cardholder I don't want Sam Club is busy enough as it is the gas station. I don't want other people to be able to get gas there. Get your membership. Become a member. I know. Look, if you want it to be available at the Murphys at the Walmart gas station, it's fine. I love that.
Starting point is 00:25:33 No problem, but that's where it needs to be used. If you're, you know, I can't use my, I don't know. It's fine. Whatever. Whatever. What do I care? But we'll see. If I could use them at, if I don't have a Sam's Club card,
Starting point is 00:25:51 I guess I can still use it at Murphy's. But if I have a Sam's Club card, I don't think I could use that at Murphy's. I never have. You know, if that's true, I, okay. But I don't think it is. They also say you're still going to have access to the free curbside pickup. Next day delivery, two-day delivery options.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Okay. Good deal. We'll see if it's worth. it for a hundred bucks a year and they also listed did you know that you know i know they're you know big deal they're closing on thanksgiving that's so nice of them but you know they announced they have got their walmart drive-in locations now going on uh the drive-in theaters at walmarts so i've i looked close to where we have uh you know i got a couple walmarts i got a neighborhood walmart and i got a big walmart two big walmarts pretty close by to uh
Starting point is 00:26:47 to the Fisher trailer. And I haven't seen the movie stuff up. Now, maybe I've just missed it. It's not like I'm out driving around late Friday night or Saturday night. But, so it's going to be teaming up with Tribeca Enterprises, 160 of its store lots into drive-in movie theaters.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Boy, AMC's got. That'll be so pissed. Tickets for family movies. such as Black Panther, Spider-Man, into the Spider-Verse, back to the future, and more, will be free, but you've got to request them in advance.
Starting point is 00:27:27 So tickets available, 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 5 p.m. Eastern on Wednesdays. Gates open at 6, and the movies begin at 7.30. Walmart. So it doesn't say what day. I guess it's Wednesday? Is that the drive-in theater for Wednesday?
Starting point is 00:27:43 States that are participating in the pop-up event, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia. I mean, it's almost what's wrong with the other two states left. Oh, Jeff, there's more states than that. My gosh. That's only 26 states, okay? So it's not all of them. Just go with it, okay? Live with it. you got it no problem so is it wednesday when it happens no footprint was yesterday in another patent film a partnership with Tribeca the movies
Starting point is 00:28:32 tour set through run through October I guess it happens on Wednesday night why doesn't it say it says we have 160 parking lots and a drive-in movie theaters you got to request the tickets in advance available at five p.m. on Wednesday. Gates open at 6th when we begin to 7th. I guess it is Wednesdays. Well, I'm going to click on another link here to see if that's actually when it is. So they list down at the bottom of their Walmart drive-in.com cities that are having movies and they're dated September 1st, which is today, which is, I don't know, a Tuesday. day. And there is one close to where I live.
Starting point is 00:29:28 I'm technically in Fort Worth, but the one in Roanoke, Texas, the Walmart in Roanoke, Texas, is sold out already. So there's other cities, the one in a bunch of them, they're already sold out. There were only a couple up top that were still available that the rest of them are all sold out. That's pretty incredible. mean AMC has got to be pissed. Oh, they're free, Jeff, and they're showing old movies. I know.
Starting point is 00:29:58 But you're in the Walmart parking lot? There's one in Avon Park, Florida you can go to. There's one in Hurricane West Virginia. And there's one in Richmond, Texas, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Another in Avon Park tomorrow. Also, they're different... These are September 2nd, Wednesdays,
Starting point is 00:30:15 and Thursdays and Fries. They're doing different days. Why doesn't it say? Why doesn't it say what days? Got to find this out now. This is really ticking me off. So no more than five in a car. First company,
Starting point is 00:30:30 they're parking wherever they feel like based on the size of your vehicle. You cannot sit outside your car. You've got to be in your car. It's going to be, they have an FM frequency for you. You must have a functioning FM radio in your car. No alcohol. And you can, if you step out of your vehicle, wear a mask. otherwise they shoot you dead.
Starting point is 00:30:52 No, they don't. They just tell you to put your put your mask on. You could use the bathroom inside the Walmart, but you got to wear a mask. I guess, I don't know if they have attendance out there. I don't know if attendants are going to be hawking candy bars and sodas
Starting point is 00:31:07 or if you got to go in, get there early, and go buy some stuff and come back. You can't, if you're going to leave early, you've got to tell the attendant so they can get you out of there safely. And it's just different days. You got to go to their, Walmartmovie.com or whatever the heck their website is.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Walmart drive-in. Walmart drive-in.com and then you can follow them on their social medias and what have you. So I mean, it's a good idea. It's fun. And you get the confirmation to your email. And if you pull in and you don't have confirmation, again, just like getting out of your car without a mask, they shoot you dead.
Starting point is 00:31:43 It doesn't say that in the rules, but you know that that's what happens. They're going to have drones flying over the party. working about and uh we've got one we've got one row row three parking spot C out of the car without a mask oh no and then they just drag you off oh no I'm just joking just joking my gosh stop it it's not going to happen see I didn't even fire the real gunshot that's how much of a joke it is that's why I don't believe it if you would have actually heard this a then you would have known I was real, but you didn't. So that's where it goes.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Okay, I want you to know that Snopes has discredited all you people that have said Jacob Blake was once charged with raping a child in Wisconsin. They say that's false. So shut your yap and stop saying it. Okay? He was never charged. with raping a child in Wisconsin and you shouldn't say it. Okay?
Starting point is 00:33:10 I don't want to hear it. I don't want to even think about it. Okay? Because the claim that he had been charged with an offense that involved the sexual penetration of a minor and he therefore raped a child in reality, he was not accused of having raped a child. And that claim is false. Okay? He was faced with charges of a child.
Starting point is 00:33:34 of having sexually assaulted his ex-girlfriend with whom he has three children in common. Wow. Are you stupid? Okay? So just shut your face and don't talk about it. All right? He was shot by police officers
Starting point is 00:33:51 and that's all you need to know. Don't be spreading lies about Jacob Blake. Do you understand? Okay. Good. because I don't want to hear about it anymore. I just don't. So just remember the allegations against Blake
Starting point is 00:34:13 in July of 2020, so long ago, included a charge of third-degree sexual assault against his ex-girlfriend, which was aggravated by the alleged involvement of domestic abuse. So there was no allegation about harming a child made against them.
Starting point is 00:34:32 So stop saying. it. Okay? I was sick of hearing it. Congratulations, I guess, are in order. I don't guess they are in order to Elon Musk. Sure, he's in the news because of, you know, he's launching rocket ships or attempting to launch rocket ships every day, depending on the cloud cover. Sure, he's got his mind neural link that he's putting in pigs that are ready for human trials. Be ready for that. Be ready for that because, man, that looked good. That looked good. That's what we need is the NeroLink to go in our brains.
Starting point is 00:35:12 Just chip me. Just put it in. You know what? I'll be with the human testing for you, Elon. I'm good. All right, you and I'll take care of it. But Elon is now the third richest person in the world. That's incredible.
Starting point is 00:35:30 He zipped past Mark Zubbiz. Zuckerberg. Take that mark. Mark is only worth $110.10.8 billion. I don't even know how he's getting by, but Elon is now worth $115.4 billion. His net worth has grown $87.8 billion this year. Wow. I mean, my man has made some money this year. Also, Bezos's ex-wife, McKenzie, became the world's richest woman this past week, passing L'Oreal Aris.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Wow. That's just incredible. She's worth $66.4 billion now. That is amazing. I guess, you know, congratulations. and you know I know it's if you're a stockholder and some people on this show are good for you you're doing you're doing pretty good with your with your with your with your with your with your with your with your Tesla and uh SpaceX stock I don't know how the SpaceX is going but with
Starting point is 00:36:55 your Tesla stock no problem and with your Amazon stock too you're doing pretty darn good so Elon's the third richest. So what do you got? You got Elon. You got Jeff, of course, at the top. And you got what, Bill? And then Zuck. And then Elon.
Starting point is 00:37:21 That's a pretty good company. No, I mean, either, no, you got Jeff, Bill, Elon, Zuck. Yeah, because, I mean, Elon just knocked Zuck down. Right? I mean, I'm going to be in a tent. I mean, that's too bad.
Starting point is 00:37:44 I almost feel sorry for him. I almost feel sorry for him. I do. I really do. I almost feel sorry for him. I mean, they already said that they're going to, they're in a fight in Australia. They're in a fight here in America for banning sites and banning people.
Starting point is 00:38:01 They're threatening to ban Australian news. Well, what they're saying is they're going to ban Australians. from sharing news after Google launches attack on government plans. Okay. So Australians could be blocked from sharing news content on Facebook and Instagram if the world's first attempt to govern how media companies deal with big tech becomes lost. So Facebook is saying, hey, we don't want to do it, but we will. And I don't know if you want to pick a fight.
Starting point is 00:38:38 you want to pick a fight with Facebook? I, you know what, I'm okay. What they're saying is that Facebook and Google would be forced to pay Australian media organizations for hosting their content. Well, they're saying, we, you know, no. Um, how about no? And how about we don't host your content at all? and nobody from around the world sees your stuff.
Starting point is 00:39:12 How about that? So we'll see if it holds up. I don't know. Facebook is saying, well, look, Australian news items shared 2.3 billion times on the platform, which Facebook is saying generated 200 million in revenue for the Australian media organizations.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Now, I mean, without that, okay, good luck, God bless. I hope it works out. You know what? I hope it works out for you. And I don't know what side I want to be on on this, to be honest with you. I haven't, I got to read a little bit more on it. I was just letting you know what the battle is.
Starting point is 00:39:49 I'll read up and see what side I want to be in. I feel like, I just kind of feel like I need to be on, and I hate saying this, Facebook side, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be on their side. So we'll get back to the Australian. Starting point is 00:41:00 jalo not jennifer not jennifer lopez we love jennifer lopez she's she's the perfect Puerto Rican, right? No, apparently not. So, you know, it was reported that her and hubby, Alex Rodriguez, A-Rod, or I'm sorry, boyfriend, I don't know that they're officially married yet. They're just, you know, gonna get married. And they're gonna go to the chapel. Just stop. Don't get me started singing that stupid song, because it's already there. I put it in my head. I'm sorry. So they're worth about 700 million, which seems, you know, when you're talking about Elon and, you know, and Jeff and Bill and Mark being worth hundreds of billions,
Starting point is 00:41:53 you'd think that maybe Arod and Jennifer would have made a few other investments to at least be a billionaire, you know, billionaire couple, right? They're not even over a billion as a couple. Well, anyway, they were working with a good. group to raise funds to try to buy the New York Mets, the baseball team. And they needed about, I don't know, $2.7 billion or $3 billion. They were trying to raise funds as a group working with J.P. Morgan to get this group to be a part of the ownership platform of the Mets.
Starting point is 00:42:27 And she, it's been on the news and fans of J.Lo and A-Rod. I mean, I see it happening. It's not like, oh, you mean they aren't just like you and me? What? I know. It's agonizing. But apparently people feel that, you know, J-Lo is one of them. And she's, you know, from the street.
Starting point is 00:42:52 And, you know, that's where she's from. And that's where A-Rod is from. And they're just, you know, one of the people. They've only been worldwide stars for years. and 700 million ain't jump change. Okay. They live a pretty good life and have lived a pretty good life for a long time. Okay?
Starting point is 00:43:17 So it's not a surprise that they, you know, now they are, you know, minorities. They've done great in this country. They want to put together an investment team and try to purchase, you know, a product that is big in America. And that's a baseball team. be part of the ownership team. I get it. Well, J-Lo
Starting point is 00:43:41 was bummed because she's disappointed because they can't get the team. I know. I know. She was bummed. She was really bummed.
Starting point is 00:44:00 And so she tweeted, Alex and I are so disappointed. We worked so hard. the past six months with the dream of becoming the first minority couple and the first woman owner to buy her father's favorite baseball team with her hard-earned money. We still haven't given up. Okay, so that's one of their dreams and her dreams. Her father loved them.
Starting point is 00:44:24 I mean, come on. That's not being tone deaf. I'm sorry. But the J-Lo fans are talk about being tone-deaf. Perhaps you're unaware of the looming eviction and bankruptcy crisis Because millions are out of work, Jennifer But yeah, sucks you can't buy a bunch of dudes Please read the damn room
Starting point is 00:44:54 Millions of people are waiting in lines almost a mile long Just to get food from food banks People are getting evicted because they can no longer afford rent it's absolutely disgusting that you are complaining about millions you can't throw away. Okay, everything said there. Food banks, people in lines, getting evicted, all horrible. We even talked about it a little bit earlier in the show. People not being able to pay their bills and getting their power cut off.
Starting point is 00:45:23 I get it. It's just horrible. But Jalo doesn't get to have her dreams. You know, people don't get to have their dreams. so she's telling you she's not rubbing it in she's just saying that she's so disappointed they've worked hard the past six months trying to make that dream come true and now it can't i mean come on she's just trying to share with you i mean that's ridiculous ridiculous not literally not one person cares about your rich people people problems right now well uh
Starting point is 00:46:06 Yeah, they kind of do. They care about her problems and her successes for a long time. That's who she is. That's what she does. So I guess this comes with the territory. But okay, tone deaf J-Lo. You know who's tone-deaf are the fans? The fans.
Starting point is 00:46:27 They're tone-deaf. They don't get it. I mean, I would be willing to bet, and I don't know this. I have no idea. I don't know this, but I would be willing to bet. that Arod and J-Lo have donated a bunch of money and some time to helping people less fortunate than themselves. I don't know that they have, but I bet they have.
Starting point is 00:46:50 And so I just, my God, I'm sticking up for A-Rod and J-Lo. What the hell is this show become? All of you still struggling from the storm Laura, Hurricane Laura, throughout the country, just know that there's only. I don't know, more development in the tropics on its way coming. So could be, yeah, it could be another tropical depression, tropical storms, other hurricanes.
Starting point is 00:47:20 Don't worry about it. Okay. It's just more storms coming. It is, after all, hurricane season. And we're in the heart of it. Now, we're in the heart of it. This is September 1st, 2020, for those of you listening live.
Starting point is 00:47:36 It did bring to mind, though. Remember, I don't know, last year during Hurricane Dorian. In September, it was a year ago. This is dated one year ago. So Hurricane Dorian, one year ago, this tweet from Tyler Vasquez is talking to a guy from Palm Bay in his mobile home park. And he came up with a couple of tremendous ideas. And I ask, is he wrong?
Starting point is 00:48:08 That's what I ask. So remember, remember this guy from one year ago. Can't see how they haven't come up with some kind of way to combat these storms yet. They keep saying, you know, two days ago, three days ago, oh, it said this, but it's going to get all this warm weather. All this warm weather and warm water. We have a Navy. Why don't the Navy come in the ice in the warm water? so it doesn't get going as fast as it's going.
Starting point is 00:48:39 There's got to be ways to combat this instead of just pointing at the thing and say, well, now it's getting worse. Yeah, we know it's getting worse, but you tell us, oh, it's the warm weather, oh, it's the wind. Well, we have an air force. Drive some air force planes around
Starting point is 00:48:54 to get the winds going the opposite way. The Navy are going circles to fight it the other way. All right? I mean, tell me he's not wrong. Okay, so the airplane thing, that's a little far-fetched. I'll give you. All right.
Starting point is 00:49:11 I'll give you that the, you know, the airplanes flying in the opposite direction, trying to, you know, slow down the hurricane. That's a little far-fetched. But the dropping of ice, that seems like it's doable. I mean, they get stronger from the warm water, right? I mean, that's what strengthens the hurricanes. So if we send giant planes over the hurricane and drop ice in them.
Starting point is 00:49:37 I mean, it seems like it would work. Doesn't it? Tell me he's wrong. That's what I thought you can't. That's what I thought you can't.
