Starting point is 00:00:00 Sometimes the best gifts aren't gifts at all. Their experiences, journeys, something that unwraps them. This year, help them explore their past with Ancestry DNA. Help them discover where they come from and who they're connected to. Now with even more regions, exclusive features, and incredible detail, they can see where they're from and the paths that shape their family's story. This holiday, give more than a gift. Give AncestryDNA.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Visit Ancestry.ca for more details. Terms apply. Well, well, well, we didn't win. I know. I know it stinks. But the good news is that the Powerball is now $550 million with a $411.4 million cash payout coming on the 13th of January, 2021. And the Mega Millions is $600 million with a $442.4.4. million dollar cash payout on the 12th of January 2021.
Starting point is 00:01:05 For those of you listening live on the 11th of January 2021. So while the bad news is, I know we didn't win the last one, but we have the possibility of winning the next one, right? Right. Welcome to chewing the fat. So much, so much is going on and we'll get to it. I've got headlines that are going to, you know, get you through what's been going on. No problem.
Starting point is 00:01:44 I know that, you know, chewing the fat is here for, you know, I really, really try to not be political and go into deep dives that the other shows do. And that's what they're here for. But one of the big stories this weekend was, you know, You see where Vogue magazine had the vice president-elect Kamala Harris on their cover. And it was fine. There's two different covers. One is her wearing a dark suit with her famous Chuck Taylor's.
Starting point is 00:02:20 We heard about this when they did the shoot. And the other cover, she wears a powder blue suit as she crosses her arms and smiles at the camera. Now, those are both fine pictures of Kamala Harris. never mind. I don't want to get into, I know we've spent the last, you know, four or five years,
Starting point is 00:02:39 not even downplaying everything, that the wife of the other guy, who is an actual model, supermodel. We didn't have anything to do with her, but I digress. So we're fine, right? No, we are unhappy with the covers of Kamala Harris.
Starting point is 00:03:00 And the woke crowd is all about how terrible this is for Kamala Harris and saying that the lighting washes her out the styling isn't worthy of the country's first black woman to be elected vice president they were very unhappy with the way she's represented now we heard about the way she was going to be represented during the shoot
Starting point is 00:03:24 a while back and I really found it strange that then vogue of course you know, releases a statement saying that we love the images, Tyler Mitchell shot, and felt the more informal image captured Vice President-elect Harris's authentic, approachable nature. That's what she does try to present, right? And it was the seriousness of the moment in history.
Starting point is 00:03:53 But that's not good enough. Now, they also said that, you know, Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief needs to step down. She, they're critiquing the photographing of Black Stars in July with Simone Biles. And they just are out to get it wasn't perfect enough for them. Now, they said in the original story that the Kamala Harris people did not respond to requests for comment. And if you wondered why that was when it happened and you thought to yourself, well, I mean, they're going to come out and say, no, we liked the pictures. And that's, we were fine with the pictures and we feel that it represents,
Starting point is 00:04:40 uh, Madam Vice President perfectly. That's how she wanted it to be represented. And we looked at the pictures before they were posted, uh, before they went to print. And we were happy with it. So, you know, leave Vogue alone. Uh, no, you would be wrong. You would be wrong.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Kamala Harris's team says it was blind. by Vogue cover. Now, if you believe that, if you believe that the Kamala Harris campaign, the Kamala Harris group of people, the Kamala Harris handlers, the people who surround Kamala Harris, were blindsided by the Vogue cover,
Starting point is 00:05:28 that is not believable. but okay if you say so if you say so i wonder i wonder what the numbers would be now way back on january 5th 2021 i don't even know how long know that was it seems like another lifetime ago now according to a rasmussen report survey uh it revealed that 70% were concerned that Big Brother is spying on them, including
Starting point is 00:06:09 39% who were very concerned, and 40% fear spying will increase under Biden. Now, in the analysis just posted with the Raz Muson, said Republican
Starting point is 00:06:26 voters have the most concern. Most voters don't trust the government's judgment when it spies on U.S. citizens, although the number who say they do not trust the government has increased slightly since we asked the same question in January of 2019. Democrats are more likely than Republicans to trust the government's judgment on domestic surveillance. Black voters trust the government more than voters who are white or other races read the report. Republicans who support President Trump have reason to be skeptical about government spying, especially those who have followed the
Starting point is 00:07:00 FBI's bid to link the president and his team to Russian election interference. The survey found that U.S. residents have a deep suspicion of all types of spying, not just from Washington. Voters are also concerned about foreign and industrial spying, according to this Rasmussen report, on January 5th, just a week ago. Wow, I'm sure that number is a lot bigger now. because of what's been happening over the last, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:07:36 four days, five days, social media companies have temporarily or permanently banned, and there's, I'm sorry, if the wording is temporary, that's incorrect, because you know it's permanent,
Starting point is 00:07:50 banned the real Donald Trump following the perceived violent attack on the U.S. Capitol last week, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Pinterest, Shopify, Snapchat, TikTok, Switch, and Discord have restricted President Trump's accounts or accounts and hashtags affiliated with violence and pro-Trump conspiracies, like hashtag stop the steel. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:15 All right. And of course, when you say, well, you could still email some people, not so fast. The email company has suspended service to the Trump campaign people as well. Amazon has booted Parlor off its web hosting service. I'm sure you're aware of that if you're not. You know, they started with the app stores for Google and the app stores for Apple, taking Parlor off of that. And then that wasn't enough.
Starting point is 00:08:50 So they had to take them off their web hosting service that Amazon hosts for them. So now there's no way that you can use Parlor. if you wanted to. The payment processor Stripe banned Trump campaign hosts sites for selling their merchandise through their company. Look, it is not good.
Starting point is 00:09:18 I know that there's a huge purge going on on Twitter between people leaving Twitter and the purge algorithm. You know, everyone that has, a lot of followers and are part of the other side, the perceived other side, are losing followers by a lot. I know a lot of people are, you know, saying, you know, big accounts have either been taken down or just they de-platform themselves.
Starting point is 00:09:53 And when you hear people like, and this is, I'm this is getting way too political for chewing the fat. But when you hear people like Senator Lindsey Graham saying they're more determined than ever to strip tech companies of legal protections now than they were before, don't believe it. If they believe that, that would have happened already. And they would, they, after all the times that Jack and Zuck were, you know, before Congress and before Senate,
Starting point is 00:10:29 committees and nothing happened because of it. Eh, don't kid yourself. They don't care. They don't. It doesn't, there's nothing they can do about it now. Simon & Schuster has canceled Senator Josh Hawley's book. And they're going to, you know, that's more coming. That's already happened.
Starting point is 00:10:53 We saw that happening to a lot of people prior to this, right? We did. We saw that happen. way, way before this. We also saw where they talked about these different accounts, taking things away from the Trump people. Well, remember way back when, way back in 2014,
Starting point is 00:11:20 when Mozilla's CEO resigned amid outrage that he supported an anti-gay marriage campaign, pain. And remember, he gave a thousand dollars contribution to support a law that got overturned in California. But he still stepped down, right? He left Firefox and Mozilla and they wouldn't let him work anymore. So when you see headlines in today's news that talks about Mozilla saying that, you know, the siege against the capital, which mostly amounted to a group of dressed up, LARPA's walking around after being led by police,
Starting point is 00:12:09 imprompted the failing web browser to claim. Now, this article talks about the failing web browser. Well, Mozilla, the nonprofit company behind Firefox, has joined the fight. And the headline that they want to use, of course, is that they threaten to go beyond de-platforming. I'm not sure what that is. But these companies have been doing it for a long time now.
Starting point is 00:12:34 And that's just the world that we live in. Is it scarier now? Yeah. Yeah, no question. I mean, when you have a company like Apple, who remember, they wouldn't even unlock the San Bernardino Shirtu, the shooter's phone, because of, you know, their company policies and First Amendment rights and everything,
Starting point is 00:13:03 but they were sure as heck quick to take parlor off the app store, weren't they? Yes, they were. Yes, they were. And I know that we're saying, hey, private companies can do what they want. Okay. Well, how about all the companies that are closed now because of, mandates from states and local municipalities because of COVID-19. Can private companies do what they want?
Starting point is 00:13:32 Can they? Can they? I saw a tweet amazingly on Twitter from at G.B. Millennial. And it has a list here that is interesting. It's an interesting list. and it should be just titled It's Just A Because the list starts with
Starting point is 00:13:57 It's just a wedding cake It's just a Confederate flag It's just a statue It's just Alex Jones It's just two weeks It's just Easter It's just a mask It's just a few months
Starting point is 00:14:15 It's just Thanksgiving It's just Christmas It's just Christmas It's just a year. It's just a vaccine. It's just a... Exactly. It's just a...
Starting point is 00:14:31 It's just a database of Trump officials and staffers with the intention of holding those people professionally accountable for supporting the president. It's just a golf tournament. Sponsored by the PGA that's not going to be held anymore at the Trump. Trump National Bedminster Golf Club in New Jersey. It's just a national association of realtors banning hate speech and harassing speech in members' private lives. It's just an app. It's just a book.
Starting point is 00:15:12 It's just a... Exactly. Now is... The time. more important than ever to subscribe to Blaze TV. Go to blazTV.com slash Jeffie, J-E-F-F-F-Y. It'll get you $10 off a year's prescription. Years' prescription.
Starting point is 00:15:37 We give out prescriptions now? I might have to, I might have to do that. A year's subscription to Blaze TV. If we're giving out prescriptions, I am even more of a fan of Blaze TV. Now, listening to this podcast, of course, is free, but what helps it be free is your subscription to Blaze TV. So go to BlazeTV.com slash jeffy, J-E-F-F-Y, save as much money as that promo code will get you and become a member.
Starting point is 00:16:04 And now, more than ever, more voices, not less, are needed. And there are less and less voices daily, if not hourly, happening across the U.S. and around the world. But, I mean, for sure, here in the U.S. So blazTV.com slash J-E-F-F-Y, Jeffrey, will get you your Blaze subscription. Not a prescription. That's kind of sad, I know, but it's the best I can do.
Starting point is 00:16:38 You know, another headline I saw this weekend that made me say, yeah, duh. The headline, chickens wreak havoc at a New Jersey McDonald's parking lot. Duh, yeah. I lived in New Jersey for a summer, Weehawk in New Jersey. And when I used to, right there on Park Avenue, that's right, I lived on Park Avenue, it's right at the beginning of the Lincoln Tunnel and the house apartment that I lived in,
Starting point is 00:17:09 you could, you know, see into New York, into Manhattan, across the river, is beautiful. And I used to walk down to the bus stop and take the bus into the city every day. Well, there was an area that I would walk past that there's a wall because it's built on, you know, a mountain of stone and dirt. And there's a wall there that takes you up this hill. And there's, you know, brush and shrubbery there that takes you up to the next road and houses. Well, in that shrubbery and brush was at least one chicken that used to come out and hold. Old guard over that area that he was in charge. You did not mess with that chicken, and that was in Jersey.
Starting point is 00:17:56 So it didn't surprise me to see a headline that chickens were wreaking havoc at a McDonald's in New Jersey. Now, it's quite a ways away from Weehawken. But apparently, there was, now the headline also talks about it being a flock of chickens. There were two. But the animal control officer, Robbie, showed up to the scene. and he quickly leapt into action. And he grabbed the perpetrators. And there's a picture of him with the two chickens,
Starting point is 00:18:28 and there's a picture of them with one chicken in front of the McDonald's. But they were attacking people's cars. They were plecking at the tires. I don't know if they were, you know, because chickens can fly. I don't know if you know that. They're not great flyers, but they can fly. So they could fly up to open windows and start pecking in through the doors. and there was no report on whether they were pissed at the people who were, you know, getting chicken nuggets or sandwiches or any of that.
Starting point is 00:18:55 It was just that they were hungry and they were out looking for food. And people got scared because you can wreak havoc these two chickens in the McDonald's parking lot. But they're safe now because Animal Control Officer Robbie jumped, leapt into action and rescued those people. from the two harassing and evil, mean chickens. So the people in New Jersey are that much safer today because of the animal control officer, Robbie. All right, let's go to the break room. I need something to drink.
Starting point is 00:19:49 Desperately. I don't know if I've told you, but that is really, really good. even if Coca-Cola was one of the companies that, you know, wanted us to know that they were ready to
Starting point is 00:20:17 be all in for the peaceful transition of the U.S. government. You know, like Chevron and Axe and, you know, and whatever, oil, deodorant, soda. They all weighed in. Big money. That was nice of them.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Anyway, it's still good to drink one and so I'm going to go ahead and drink one either way. That's just the way it is. Hey, remember, we talked last week about the possibility of a Roku taking over the content from Quibi, that's a done deal. So they've got about 75 shows and documentaries that Roku purchased the rights to from Quibi. And you know they got it dirt cheap, right? I don't know what they spent. was reported that they spent under 100 million. I don't know what they spent it.
Starting point is 00:21:10 That would be, I mean, under 100 million could be, $100 could be, you know, $90 million. But if it's more than, I don't know, if it's more than $50 million, that's too much, Roku. That's too much. But they've got it. They're going to offer the content for free to the users through an ad-supported model on the Roku channel.
Starting point is 00:21:37 And so they, you know, that's important to them because they want to step up the platform and they want to, you know, what they're using now consists of, you know, movies and shows. It doesn't even own. So they'll be able to at least have some content that's theirs, which is good, right? I mean, that's good for them.
Starting point is 00:21:57 Hey, if you're listening to this show right now and you're not a subscriber to chewing the fat, please do so. I don't know, you know, what's holding you back, but nothing should be. It is free. Just go to the platform of your choice while it's still available and subscribe to chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. Okay? Like iTunes.
Starting point is 00:22:21 I know. I heart radio. I know. Stitcher. I know. Spotify. I know. Just go there.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Whatever one you like. There's plenty. There's a plethora of platform. forms out there and subscribe to chewing the fat. Okay? And while you're at it, you might as well subscribe to my YouTube channel as well. Chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. Just go there and subscribe.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Click the little notification bell so you know when new content is put up on the channel. And just, you know, go ahead. And, you know, look, the social media accounts, they're still there. You know, at Jeffrey JFR on Twitter, Jeff Fisher Radio on Facebook and Instagram. and, you know, still there. So was the parlor. I did sign up for GAB. People kept telling me to do GAB.
Starting point is 00:23:10 I couldn't even get in the last, I tried three different times. I wouldn't even let me sign up. And this morning I finally got in to sign up on GAB. And all the, you know, Jeff Fisher, all the names that I wanted were taken. So I ended up getting, Jeff Fisher
Starting point is 00:23:32 JFR. Jeff Fisher JFR on Gab. So it's there. I think I posted a hello on Gab, but then you're supposed to get a confirmation email from them,
Starting point is 00:23:47 and I never did. So I don't know if their confirmation emails don't go through to the email that I gave them. I looked in all the spam and the trash and, you know, different different categories that it could show up on and it didn't.
Starting point is 00:24:04 So, you know, maybe I'm not on Gab yet. I don't know. But the other accounts are still there. You can still use them. It's just, you know, I know. It's so difficult now. It is. And I understand the process I do.
Starting point is 00:24:22 But most importantly, subscribe to the podcast, Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher. And subscribe to the YouTube channel. chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher and the rest. We'll just play by ear, okay? So another headline that I see, it's been in the pile for a while, as Swiss handover remaining $150 million to U.S. from massive Ponzi scheme.
Starting point is 00:24:48 And I think, why? I mean, they're handing over $150 million. Like, oh, yeah, you know, they're going to return $150 million from blocked Swiss bank accounts. And it's because it's going to be given to victims of this Ponzi scheme from Robert Allen Stanford. And I'm trying to remember who this guy is, and he's a former Texas financier. And he was convicted of fraud by a Houston jury in 2012 in what prosecutors called a $7.2 billion fraud lasted two decades. He clipped any kind of size of the Ponzi scheme run by Bernie Maydough.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Now, they've already returned $50 million. And in October, a Swiss criminal court rejected appeals against the seizure of assets, which I guess paved the way for the remaining $150 million to be returned to the people who were, you know, got Ponzied. So Stanford is now serving a 110-year prison term. I don't remember this guy. I'm so bummed. I don't remember this guy. He's serving a 110-year prison term.
Starting point is 00:26:12 He's stashed millions from his Antigua-based Stanford International Bank at the Swiss arm of French Bank. Society General, which he tapped regularly to fund his private jets, his yacht. So, I mean, this guy was living a large man. And it's good that we've got some of the money back. But I feel like there's, that was probably more or not enough money returned. I just kind of feel like if they're willing to give, you know, they've already given 50. And now they're giving another 150. And they're going, yeah, yeah, here, take the 150 and we're done.
Starting point is 00:26:58 It's a horrible thing. and we've, whew, man, we've got to return your money. I mean, you like the Swiss banking system maybe, you know, deep pocketing a little bit of that. But what do I know? What do I know? Just good news is that, you know,
Starting point is 00:27:16 some of the people who were Ponzied will get some money back. And I don't know if it's going to be close to what they lost, but at least they get something back, right? And then we have the Deutsche Bank is paying $124 million to settle with U.S. investigations into a foreign bribery scheme and commodity trading violations. So the U.S. is getting some money back from these foreign banks. Is that good? I, you know, yes.
Starting point is 00:27:48 If you're part of, if you were scammed, you're darn right. It's good. Is it good for the overall thing? You know, your guess is as good as mine. I guess it is. Sure. Let's go with it. Let's go with it.
Starting point is 00:28:03 It's a good thing. Okay? We'll stick with that. And nobody, man, we have so much has happened in the past couple days that no one is talking about the Boeing 737 500 that crashed into the sea. After takeoff from Jakarta on Saturday, it was carrying 62 people. They found the black boxes and they found, I guess, some body parts and part of the plane parts, but it's just a horrible, another plane crash. It was operated by Indonesia's
Starting point is 00:28:35 Swihua Ja air. The great airline from Indonesia and sad that crashed. And into the sea, another one just gone. It was only unfortunate. This is, okay, so I digress just a little bit. Horrible that 62 people passed away. and lost their lives in this plane crash.
Starting point is 00:29:01 On the other hand, it was only 62 people. Pfizer, a biotech, a coronavirus vaccine, is effective against the new highly contagious strains discovered in the UK and South Africa. That's what research shows. So there you have it. There you have it.
Starting point is 00:29:23 You start worrying about the vaccine, you're good to go. All right? So just, just, just, Don't worry about it. Just get the vaccine. And I see where Dominion voting systems filed a defamation lawsuit against Sidney Powell, who has, you know, pushed quite a few theories against the company. They're seeking $1.3 billion in damages.
Starting point is 00:29:53 This could be a fun lawsuit to follow. We'll see what happens with this lawsuit. Cindy Powell, along with Michael Flynn, two other. that were banned from Twitter this weekend. I'm not sure if Facebook and Instagram followed suit. It's very possible that they did. One of the stories, I've had it, I just haven't got around.
Starting point is 00:30:30 It makes me laugh. It was during the riots, the capital overthrow, last week, this guy posted, was Ryan, Lizza posted on his Twitter account a picture of the guy that had the podium from Nancy Pelosi's Speaker of the House podium, who has since been arrested, by the way.
Starting point is 00:30:55 The tweet was via Getty, comma, one of the riders steals a podium from the Capitol. And there's his picture and he's waving. And it's, you know, he's got Pelosi's podium. And, you know, all right, it's a horrible thing. He took her podium. The horror. But people actually thought that his name was Via Getty. And so a couple of tweets that came through was, boom, we got one of these Maga Chuds.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Via Getty, look them up. I bet he flunked out of high school and does his sister? Via Getty, that's his name. Let's get this guy and serve justice. Now that sounds like a nice person. That does. that sounds like a good person. Another person said,
Starting point is 00:31:46 I want Villagetti and everyone else who participated in this domestic terrorism at the capital today, arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Now, while this person is saying, you know, yes, they want people, you know,
Starting point is 00:32:01 who participated, arrested, and prosecuted, that person still believes that a person carrying the podium's name is Villagetti. You realize, of course that Via Getty is
Starting point is 00:32:16 the company that owns the right to the pictures acknowledgement that Getty images owns the photos showing the protest but it's kind of funny, isn't it? I like how the person who believes
Starting point is 00:32:32 his name is Via Getty is claiming that the person with the podium flunked out of high school and does his sister. Hmm. It's interesting. It's interesting.
Starting point is 00:32:45 It's interesting. It's interesting. Times are tough all over, though, my friends. Times are tough all over. Even in Barbados. I know. I know. You'd think to yourself Barbados.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Do they have COVID? Yes, they do. Yes, they do. In fact, a 42-year-old beautician was found scaling a wall in Barbados to go have sex with a 46-year-old crane engineer and his wife, both from Manchester,
Starting point is 00:33:22 and they were there on holiday and they were breaching COVID regulations. Now, they didn't go to jail, but the judge said, I'm sorry, the chief magistrate, said that the couple could have led to a disaster on the island had they infected her and was baffled by their actions.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Ah, right? I know. Me too. I'm baffled by their, by their actions. I'll tell you that. So they were both fined. One was fined $2,200 euros, and they were freed on $7,000.
Starting point is 00:34:10 bail. But if they didn't pay within seven days, they were going to jail for nine months. That's what the Royal Barbados police said. So the stricter lockdown measures in Barbados were not keeping people away from having sex with one another and being paid for it, I'm guessing. The security guard spotted the woman jumping the fence. But my point is, the times you're talking. And she was just trying to make some money. You have some, you know, a little business with this couple in Barbados. Why else do you go to Barbados?
Starting point is 00:34:49 I mean, you're there. That's what you go there for. Now COVID is not letting you do that, not letting you have a little business while you're there. So, and this lady, this mother of four, she's trying to feed her family. So she knows. She knows. And she said that, you know, I knew I wasn't supposed to leave the hotel. But I didn't know that I couldn't invite guests.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Oh, okay. But like the judge, I'm sorry, the magistrate said, it could have led to a disaster on the island had they infected her. And like me, baffled by their actions. This is the same lady who got in trouble a few years ago for posting pictures of her in cosmetic, or in, uh, in, uh, in lingerie to promote her cosmetic clinic. And she got in trouble because they were saying, oh, this marketing stunt for her is ridiculous. How can she post herself in lingerie just to promote her business?
Starting point is 00:36:05 And she's trying to promote her business and feed her kids. But, I mean, holy cow, she was posting pictures of herself in underwere. and she's a qualified nurse and she's trying to promote her business. How dare she? So now she's, I mean, she's down to scaling walls in Barbados to have sex with a couple for money. This is what become of her. Times are tough.
Starting point is 00:36:31 Times are tough for everyone. And I don't understand just like the magistrate. Disaster could have, I mean, could have happened. Disaster. And speaking of disaster. disaster. You know, we covered a little bit earlier in the show about things that have happened this past weekend, and it all started with last Wednesday and the actions of the rioters attacking the Capitol. But, you know, it's been attacked six other times. When you will go back,
Starting point is 00:37:03 in the War of 1812, not long after construction ended on the Capitol, Capitals two wings in 1811, the British Army invaded D.C. And they partially burned. the Capitol. In 1915, before the U.S. entered World War I, German professor Eric Munter exploded a bomb in the reception room of the U.S. Senate. Puerto Rican Nationalists in 1954. Four Puerto Rican nationalists shot 30 rounds from semi-automatic pistols from the ladies' gallery. They dropped a flag, and they wounded representatives, five representatives, all of them recovered, and they were convicted for almost effectively life sentences. They were given a long, long sentence.
Starting point is 00:37:49 In 1978 and 79, President Jimmy Carter pardoned them, and they returned to Puerto Rico. Now, they claim that Carter pardoned these terrorists in exchange for Fidel Castro's release of several American CIA agents being held in Cuba, although, of course, the government denied that because we don't do such thing. right? In 1971, a radical left domestic terror group, the weather underground, you know Bill Ayers, the guy who still
Starting point is 00:38:19 has his Twitter account, exploded a bomb on the ground floor of the U.S. Capitol. Huh. On November 7, 1983, a terrorist group, armed resistors unit, took responsibility for detonating a bomb in the lobby outside the office of Senate Minority Leader Robert Byrd.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Why? Because they were protesting the invasion of Granada, Yeah, that's right. I don't know Spice. Now, they arrested six terrorists, charged them with the bombings, and they charged them with the bombing of the Capitol,
Starting point is 00:38:53 Fort McNair, and the Washington Navy Yard. Wow. So a federal judge sentenced two of the terrorists to lengthy prison sentences while the court dropped charges against three of the other co-defendants. Incredible. And in 1998,
Starting point is 00:39:07 the murder of two police officers. Russell Eugene Weston Jr. Burst into the Capitol and open fired, killing two Capitol police officers, Jacob Chestnut and John Gibson. And they don't know what his motives were. He was committed to a mental institution with paranoid schizophrenia.
Starting point is 00:39:25 And then you have last Wednesday at the Capitol. So it's not the first time. Let's hope it's the last. Let's hope and pray that it's the last. And don't worry about it because they're building a seven foot, according to them, non-scalable fence, to protect the Capitol following last Wednesday's breach.
Starting point is 00:39:48 So don't you worry about the Capitol being breached right now. Now, it's only one of the most guarded buildings in the world as it is, but now there's going to be a wall around it. That's strange how walls protect people from getting in. Huh. But I thought we were told walls don't war. Anyway, I got to stop, I got to stop thinking about the hypocrisy of the world that's going on in front of you and me every day because it is incredible, incredible, the overwhelming hypocrisy that we see from many people every single day. And yet, there it is. And we're supposed to not believe it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:44 Okay. I don't believe it. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at theblaze.com slash podcasts. Those of you that email chewing the fat at the blaze.com, thank you so much. It's another way for you to communicate with the show. Speaking to those of you that let's subscribe to the show. I got an email from Robert who talked about. He was one of the ones who got a second payment status on available message from the IRS that we talked about on Friday's show.
Starting point is 00:41:18 And it appeared that people who used TurboTax and H&R Block had an issue with the IRS sending the payments to dead temporary accounts that they used for their customers' filings. It wasn't an issue the first time around. And while he was happy that TurboTax emailed him and said that they told him about the error, They were working with the IRS to fix it, then emailed me and said the problem was resolved, and then boom, the stimulus deposit arrived in the account. So, you just wanted to let me know that it was an example of a private company working to resolve an issue with their clients. That's exactly what would have happened if you had been dealing with the IRS one-on-one. Exactly, right?
Starting point is 00:42:02 Yeah, no. I also got a message on one of the, I don't know if it was an email or social media, but telling me that they used, they actually followed the rule of being a subscriber to chewing the fat, which is if someone asks you what you're listening to, you have to, it's a rule. You have to say chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. Now, you can be listening to anything.
Starting point is 00:42:27 And according to what I was told, they were listening to some other guys show, I don't remember his name, Stu or something, he's got a show on the network too. Something about Stu's time on the planet or I don't remember the name of the show. And anyway, the, uh, Stu, Stu's world, the, whatever it is. Stu does America, something like that. Anyway, the point is, is that when asked, hey, what are you listening to?
Starting point is 00:42:59 The answer was chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. And this person was letting me know that they actually put it into practice. So rules, rules are there for, reason. So if you are a subscriber to chewing the fat, that is a rule when asked, hey, what are you listening to? Um, you have, your answer must be chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. I want you to listen to all kinds of stuff. It's okay. Uh, you know, as long as you answer chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher when asked what you're listening to. Okay. All right. Good. How about that football this weekend? Huh? Yeah, baby. Actually, it was fun.
Starting point is 00:43:34 It was a good, uh, wildcard weekend. Three games, three NFL games on Saturday. three NFL games on Sunday. The games were fun to watch, and it was a good chance to step away from what was happening around the real world. NBC tried to bring me back to reality more than any of the other networks, which was kind of agonizing during their broadcast,
Starting point is 00:43:58 but it was okay. It got me, I didn't listen to a lot of it. I keep the volume down. I can call my own games. Once in a while, I turn it up to catch a call. that's a penalty. I want to see what they called and, you know, that kind of thing. But most of the time I can call my own game. Yeah, I know what's going on out there.
Starting point is 00:44:20 So I don't need them to tell me. But that's okay. That's all right. And it was fun. You know, more on trivia was wrong. I know we said Pittsburgh would win, but Pittsburgh would have won that game had they not fallen apart in that first quarter. You could quote me on that. Oh, Jeff is, though, it's four quarters. You got to play four quarters.
Starting point is 00:44:38 I know that. But that first quarterman was a shock. And it was just that first play. I mean, if you watch the game, you know what I'm talking about. But from the first play, I mean, it was just a shock. And, you know, everybody has a plan. It's like Mike Tyson says. Everybody has a plan until you get punched in the face.
Starting point is 00:44:55 And that's just the way it is. I know that. I know that. But it was fun to watch the games. And I know. Don't get me started on the NFL. I got it. But it was just a little, you know, reprieve from the real world.
Starting point is 00:45:07 Okay? I got to watch some football. And I miss college football already. So leave me alone. But we do have a national championship tonight, for those of you listening live today on the 11th, the national championship, Alabama and Ohio State. It's going to be, I'm rooting for Alabama.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Not that I love Alabama, but I really have no love for Ohio State. And I know that ticks a lot of my Ohio listeners off. So I apologize. But, you know, I mean, I was raised in Michigan. And so I don't have a lot of, you know, love for the state of Ohio anyway. I was born and raised to dislike Ohio. And so it's very difficult for me to root for them. I have in the past from time to time.
Starting point is 00:46:03 But, whoof, not very. Not very good. And I know there was, you know, there was big talk. I saw where King James gave the players' headphones. It had to have been part of the swag deal with the bowl games, right? Every bowl game has, you know, free stuff that they give the players. It's part of the bowl game swag. And I understand that.
Starting point is 00:46:28 My son, you know, played in, I don't know, five or six bowl games. So it was, you know, plenty of swag and Big 12 championships. So you get the more of those you play in, the more. free stuff you get. I understand it. I just, you know, they was advertised as, you know, King James gave it to them. Seems that that was, you know, maybe, you know, was nice of him, but I didn't realize those college players could take those free gifts from play, from fans. But I was part of the swag. I get it. So back off me. Okay? Back off me. It's okay. I was just asking a question. And I know, I know, I can't, it's, it's everything I, it's everything I have not to just talk about how, you know, they're going to, how they're going to coming after Trump.
Starting point is 00:47:20 And, you know, they want him out. And his days are numbered. But that's not, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter that his days are numbered. What matters is, is that we've got to make sure he doesn't run again. And so we're going to go through the motions and we're going to impeach him and we're going to do whatever we can to. to make sure that we have nothing to do with Donald Trump and his family ever again, ever again. So that's what we can look forward to.
Starting point is 00:47:49 And it's going to be a fun, fun four years with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Isn't it? Yes. Yes, it is. It's going to be a fun, fun four years. and America will survive, right? Right? I didn't hear you answer.
