Starting point is 00:00:00 It's hockey season, and you can get anything you need delivered with Uber Eats. Well, almost, almost anything. So no, you can't get a nice rink on Uber Eats. But iced tea, ice cream, or just plain old ice? Yes, we deliver those. Goaltenders, no. But chicken tenders, yes. Because those are groceries, and we deliver those too.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Along with your favorite restaurant food, alcohol, and other everyday essentials. Order Uber Eats now. For alcohol, you must be legal drinking age. Please enjoy responsibly. Product availability varies by region. See app for details. Blaze Radio Network. And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher.
Starting point is 00:00:35 Okay, I want to start today with asking probably the most important question in the world. Where is Elon Musk? What has happened to Elon Musk? He has not been heard from for days. Okay? I know he celebrated his 51st birthday in the last couple. of days. He has not been heard from on Twitter since June 22nd. Today is the 30th. At the time of this recording, he has not tweeted anything since the 22nd of June at 1053 a.m. What is happening? Where is
Starting point is 00:01:23 Elon Musk? I don't know what's going on. He hasn't replied. He hasn't tweeted. He hasn't tweeted. What is happening? His last tweet was a picture of a 7-Eleven with gasoline prices each at $7.11 a gallon for regular and diesel underneath the 7-Eleven sign. That was his final tweet. Well, not his final tweet. At least I hope it's not his final tweet. It was his last tweet. We haven't heard from him now in eight days.
Starting point is 00:02:00 where is Elon Musk? Somebody needs to reach out and try to find out what's going on. I know he's at the, you know, Tesla and SpaceX stock is down. He's got the Twitter deal going on. He's talking about his foundries just burning money. I don't know what's happening, but we need to send out the troops and find out where the heck is Elon Musk. welcome welcome to chewing the fat
Starting point is 00:02:32 so if you were thinking about traveling to gutter Qatar QA-T-A-R you know the country they are hosting the 2022 gutter World Cup
Starting point is 00:02:51 the FIFA World Cup from November 21st to December 18th of this year now I was thinking about going And that might be fun. Hang out in Qatar for a while and just, you know, go to soccer matches. Well, not so much. Because the World Cup is notorious for, you know, drinking and partying.
Starting point is 00:03:15 I mean, it's a lot of fun. Not so much in Qatar this year. Okay? New. Sex is very much off the menu unless you are coming as a husband and wife team. They do not want any one-night stands at this tournament. Plus, they don't really want you to be partying at all. Everyone needs to, you know, keep their head on a swivel unless they want to go to a prison.
Starting point is 00:03:48 There's a, I mean, it's pretty much a sex band in place at this year's World Cup. What? Why? Why did we send the World Cup to guitar for this? Is it gutter? Is it guitar? Qatar. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. So the country prohibits anyone from having sex outside of marriage.
Starting point is 00:04:09 And that's usually not what happens at the Old World Cup. It also has a no drinking in public law. It prohibits anyone from being publicly intoxicated. Public affection between men and women is also a crime. and one is not to wear excessively revealing clothing in public. But hey, all are welcome. We want everybody here. So show up.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Have fun. Look, the safety and security of every fan is of the utmost importance to the FIFA 2020 World Cup board, whatever they call themselves. But they chose a great place for it. And now I want you to go, and I want you to have all kinds of fun. Just not that much fun. So R. Kelly, you know them, you love them.
Starting point is 00:05:16 Speaking of having fun, was sentenced to 30 years in prison yesterday for sexually and psychologically abusing multiple victims, many of whom were minors at the time of his offenses. His conviction is the culmination of, I mean, it's been decades of accusations that first, I mean, they, during the Me Too movement in, you know, I don't know, 2016, 2017, I mean, he really came to the forefront. So this case in New York got him 30 years.
Starting point is 00:05:52 He also has a child pornography and obstruction of justice trial. in Chicago, set to begin, which is a, you know, a federal case, in Chicago coming up on August 15th. So more fun for our coming up, I mean, Spotify scrubbed his music from its curated and algorithmically generated playlist and stopped promoting his work in 2018. I don't think that means, I think you could still get it. You just have to specifically search for it. I'll have to check that out. YouTube shut down two of R. Kelly's official accounts last year, but his songs are still available on YouTube music.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Some artists voluntarily removed their songs that were produced in collaboration with R. Kelly, such as Chance the R.R. R. Kelly, but the platforms all stop short of removing his music. Yeah, I mean, people still want to hear it. In 2017, he averaged 5.4 million weekly streams, and in 2021, 6.4 million. Wow. I mean, when he was found guilty back in September,
Starting point is 00:07:05 I mean, he was just sentenced yesterday, his streams jumped another 22%. And album sales spiked 517%. So are you going to cancel them now? I don't know. If I'm a streaming platform, I'd say no. I mean, I guess you, say, look, if you come to look for it, then, you know, it's here. We're just not going to promote it.
Starting point is 00:07:34 And, you know, I understand that. But, I mean, there's plenty of creators that have been accused of a lot of offenses. And, you know, we're just going to cancel everyone. And they're going to make it impossible. I mean, people have created great content. And we just want to make it go away. I mean, that's what they did to Joe Rogan. We just want to make it go away. right we just want to make it go away oh okay i mean uh Spotify announced i don't know earlier this month i think we talked about it where they're going to create a safety advisory council okay all right no problem i know i mean facebook's got the i'm sorry meta has their oversight board that they formed which is great done great work great work so i'm sure that the
Starting point is 00:08:24 oversight board from META will be, I mean, I don't know that it will be as good as the Spotify Safety Advisory Council, but it's possible. Anyway, R going down and headed to prison for at least 30 years and probably a lot more after this Chicago trial takes place because they're saying it, you could probably get more time for that one. So I'm pretty sure, I mean, it's darn near R. Kelly who died today because he's not getting out of prison. And another guy that's, you know, not going to get out of prison sooner or later is Alex
Starting point is 00:09:03 Murdaugh, the attorney, soon to be disbarred, I'm told, in South Carolina, Alex Murda. He was Murdaugh. He's indicted again. This time, prosecutors saying his crimes extended to an eight-year money laundering and painkiller ring with a friend. and former client charged with trying to help him commit suicide. Murdaugh wrote 437 checks worth $2.4 million that Curtis Eddie Smith cashed over eight years, keeping some of the money for himself and giving the rest for wide-ranging illegal activities.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Oh, okay. The illegal activity included a distribution network for the painkiller oxycodone. Uh, the prosecutors did not specify any other possible crimes. Well, I mean, he spent it on distribution network and he kept some of the money for himself and then, you know, he used it for wide ranging illegal activities. Okay. It's the 16th indictment. They do not like this man. I don't forget that he, it's believed that he shot his wife and his younger son or he had it done.
Starting point is 00:10:18 The guy, if I remember the story, I can't have to remember the story now where he had broken and down and the guy that was supposed to fix his car was the guy who killed the wife and son. But that was back in 2021. And they're not referenced in any of these new indictments. This is the 16th indictment against Murdof, you know, from lying to police, trying to arrange his own death to stealing money from clients to arranging 4.3 million and wrongful death settlements for a housekeeper who died in a fall at his home and then not giving her family a dime.
Starting point is 00:10:53 So he's a really nice guy. And I would guess that Mr. Murdo is going to spend quite a bit of time behind bars. Whether he actually killed his own wife and son is still questionable. But it does look like it's possible. All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. Oh, so good. If you're thinking to yourself, man, I need something that I can enjoy.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Well, let me help you out, okay? A two-fold way for you to enjoy. You can get grass-fed, grass-finished beef and lamb, pastured pork and chicken, sustainable wild-caught Alaskan salmon, delivered straight to your door. You don't not have to go. to the store. Moink delivers join the Moink movement today. I mean, I like knowing exactly where my meat comes from. You can quote me on that. And with Moink, that place is from small family
Starting point is 00:12:13 farms all across the country. And you can help save the family farm, get access to the highest quality meat on earth when you join the Moink movement. And you can join that today. Moink farmers, farm like our grandparents did. And as a result, moink meat tastes like it should because the family farm does it better. The moin difference is a difference you can taste. And you can feel good knowing you're helping family farms stay financially independent too.
Starting point is 00:12:45 You choose the meat delivered in every box, like rib eyes to chicken breast, to pork chops, to salmon filets, to bacon. I mean, I am in their bacon is. Awesome. So is everything else, though. I mean, I go down this list. Rib eyes, yep, check. Chicken breasts, yep, check.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Pork chops, yep. Salmon, yep. Bacon, yes. I mean, Kevin O'Leary from Shark Tank agrees with me, or maybe I agree with him. But he called Moink's Bacon the best bacon he's ever tasted. And Ring Doorbell founder, Jamie Siminov, jumped at the chance to invest in Moink.
Starting point is 00:13:26 I mean, it is so cool when that box comes to the front door and you know that when you open it up, you're going to have those ribbyes and that bacon and those salmon fillets and those pork chops and that chicken or whatever you ordered. It's just going to be awesome. Plus, they guarantee. This is a guarantee from them. You're going to say, oink, oink, I'm just so happy I got moinked. And amazingly, the last box I opened, that actually, That actually happened.
Starting point is 00:13:57 I yelled, Oink, oink! I'm just so happy I got Moink. Keep American farming going by signing up at Moinkbox.com slash Jeffey right now. And listeners to this show, get free Filet Mignon in every order for a year. That's one year of the best filet mignon you're ever going to taste,
Starting point is 00:14:21 but it's for a limited time. So go to moinkbox.com slash Jeffie. right now. Moink, M-O-N-K-B-X-B-S-E-F-E-F-E-F-Y. Moinkbox.com slash Jeffie. I'd like to thank Hulu for listening. The other day, I talked about the streaming services are going back to some of them dropping one episode at a time, and it's really frustrating because we've become spoiled
Starting point is 00:14:50 and just drop the show so that I can watch all the episodes at my leisure. and not have to, you know, wait for you to drop a specific episode every week. And so, you know, it makes me just want to, I, it's difficult for me to do that. So I just want to, you know, I want to wait until they're all, when they're all, when they're all uploaded, then I'll sit down and I'll watch them all. Okay. And so I'll be able to just binge them right then. However, which, you know, it sounds good, but I can't bring myself to do it because the shows are so good.
Starting point is 00:15:24 and so I see where only murders in the building dropped a couple days ago on Hulu. They dropped two episodes, the first two episodes. So that makes it a little easier. And I mentioned that the other day. I think that's the, I'm okay with that plan. So if you have new episodes and you want to continue to bring people back to your app, I get it, instead of, you know, binging for, you know, four hours or five hours then go away and not come back to your app until you drop another show.
Starting point is 00:15:59 You know, if you want to bring people back and have to continue with that engagement. Okay. One episode is just not enough. I mean, one episode, I'm ready to keep going. So two episodes is enough, though I think if you're not going to, if you're not going to give me the entire show, give me two episodes at a time. And then I'll be okay with coming back the next week. in catching the next two.
Starting point is 00:16:26 But anyway, thank you, Hulu for doing that with only murders in the building. It's pretty good, by the way. And when you thought to yourself, hey, I wonder what Cameron Diaz is doing. How many times you talk? I never say, hey, I wonder what Cameron Diaz is doing. I don't know that I've ever said that to myself. I see your name in stories all the time. And I, you know, sometimes I click on it.
Starting point is 00:16:54 sometimes I don't. But, you know, it's just like I've never thought about that. Well, I mean, Cameron Diaz is coming out of retirement. Yay! And you can thank Jamie Fox for this. It's been eight years since she made a movie. Wow. And, man, have I missed Cameron Diaz, bud?
Starting point is 00:17:19 Okay. So she said that, I'm retired. She said that a few years ago, right? In 2018? Yeah, pretty sure. But she's set to get back with Jamie Fox in a new Netflix back in action.
Starting point is 00:17:39 So, okay. She said, Jamie Fox, only you could get me back in action. Oh, we get it, Cameron. And I can't free. freaking wait, it's going to be a blast. So Netflix is not yet set a release date for the film. But the production is set to begin this year.
Starting point is 00:18:04 So Cameron Diaz is back. Now, now how much do you want to celebrate the Independence Day celebration that's happening if you're listening? Like I said earlier today is the 30th of June. So we're coming up on the Independence Day July 4th weekend. You can celebrate even more this weekend knowing that Cameron Diaz is coming out of retirement. So speaking of Hollywood and being weird in Hollywood, I guess that's what Hollywood is all about. Remember when we talked about Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly drinking each other's blood? I mean, Megan talked about it in her glamour UK interview.
Starting point is 00:18:47 She's busy promoting herself. And, you know, her love for Machine Gun Kelly. and she talked about they drink each other's blood and they definitely you know they do occasionally you know have a little blood play
Starting point is 00:19:01 it's a ritual purposes only you know it's just part of what they do it's not drinking goblets of blood like Game of Thrones duh it's just a few drops here and there well then I see an article on Kim and Pete
Starting point is 00:19:19 and I think wait what yes. Kim and Pete, Kim apparently in an interview, said, you know, part of our bonding routine is, well, we inject our pimples together. I mean, nothing says love like injecting pimples, like injecting your pimples with each other, right? Skin care, one of her and Pete Davidson's biggest bonding activities. Now, she said, hey, we go to the dermatologist together and inject our pimples at the same time. I know. I know even the dermatologist questioned. Hey, wow, you guys have
Starting point is 00:20:00 pimples simultaneously. What is going on here? Well, we just inject our pimples together. Pete really cares about skin care as much as I do. Does he? Well, yes. You know, by the way, did I mention my new skin care line skin S K-K-N by Kim so oh did I mention that okay good but we love to go to the dermatologist and take care of our skin and you know I know we end up having pimples at the same time that's just that's just us but you know my Davidson has already talked about how bad his
Starting point is 00:20:45 skin is and he needs extra special care so and Kim has just taught him so much on skin care. Well, yeah, they go to the dermatologists and inject their pimples together. I mean, again, there's nothing like showing how much you love someone than by having your pimples injected at the same time. Am I right? Of course I am. Did I mention my new skin care line? It's interesting how we have these stories about skin.
Starting point is 00:21:20 skin problems and injecting pimples at the same time that we're promoting the new skin SKKN by Kim. Ha, that's just a coincidence. This episode is brought to you by Peloton. A new era of fitness is here. Explore the new Peloton Cross-training treadplus at OnePeloton.ca. So congratulations are in order to a couple of streaming platforms. Snapchat officially launched its paid subscription plan called, and I'm sure they had focus groups for this, Snapchat Plus. $3.99 a month for Snapchat Plus. It's a new subscription plan is going to launch in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and to the UAE.
Starting point is 00:22:51 More countries, of course, will be added soon. You get exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features available in Snapchat for $3.99 a month. And plus, it will allow them to deliver new Snapchat features to some of the most passionate members of our community and allow us to provide prioritized support. So congratulations to Snapchat for creating Snapchat Plus. Also, congratulations are in order to the Daily Wire, which now has a new streaming service. I don't know if they had a focus group as well, but it's called DailyWire Plus. So I remember another platform that just went up a little while ago with the plus after their name. And I didn't go well.
Starting point is 00:23:39 So maybe that's just a fluke. I don't know. Daily Wire Plus is $9 a month for their Insider Plus. And then you have all access with $15 a month. And then you have a complete insider called $14 a month. So congratulations to Daily Wire. They say that they have $1,000. 890,000 subscribers.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Wow. Okay. That's awesome. Now, they also signed a new deal with Jordan Peterson. So then they've got content. They're making movies now. And according to their big shindig that they had, I don't know, last night or the night before in Nashville, they talked about,
Starting point is 00:24:27 they have the Jordan Peterson podcast. and they're going to have specials with Peterson and other guests. So you get his podcast and videos. Plus, you get state of the art. SvOD platform subscriber video on demand. With their rapidly expanding content library, security will be enhanced. Our subscription funnel will be enhanced.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Our streaming function will be enhanced. And most importantly, our user experience will be enhanced. that from Jeremy Boring and one of the co-founders of the Daily Wire. So congratulations to the Daily Wire. TikTok, under fire again. I know. You know, they're going to try to make this thing go away. I don't know that you can now.
Starting point is 00:25:18 I feel like the cat's out of the bag. I feel like the genie's out of the bottle. I feel like the toothpaste is out of the tube. However you want to say it, I just don't think you're going to be able to put it back in. But they talk, there's been leaked audio from 80 internal TikTok meetings that shows that US user data has been repeatedly accessed from China. Yeah, duh.
Starting point is 00:25:44 And now the FCC commissioner, Brendan Carr, one of the FCC commissioners, said that he has sent a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pagai that pointed out to reports and other developments that made TikTok non-compliant with the two companies' app store policies. So he wants them off their app stores. Good luck. Good luck. I know they, you know, we've got security concerns. And we've had security concerns now for at least two years, maybe longer.
Starting point is 00:26:26 And we did nothing with it. Remember, I mean, India banned them. And India banned a bunch of, I think India banned all the Chinese apps, right? Or at least, I'm sorry, this story said they banned TikTok and 58 other China-based apps. I don't know if that's all the China-based apps. I just know that those particular apps, they said, were a threat to national security and defense. That's what India said. That's why Trump was trying to get rid of them.
Starting point is 00:26:58 But no. Remember, even a couple of years ago now, at the end of 2020, Jeff Brown from Bleeding Edge put out a post about TikTok and what they did, you know, because they were, well, they were fined back then for violating child privacy laws in the U.S. And then he went ahead and wanted to take a look at what TikTok actually did. So the app collects everything about a user's phone. It documents the phone's hardware specs and every app that's been downloaded. It pings the phone's GPS location roughly every 30 seconds. That means TikTok tracks exactly where all its users are at all times.
Starting point is 00:27:44 TikTok also knows which Wi-Fi networks its users connect to. It documents the address of the router as well as every other device connected to each network. And it also has written its software. code to allow it to potentially download software to Android phones and then run that software without the user's knowledge or consent. The software could be anything. Malware, surveillance software,
Starting point is 00:28:09 I feel like that's illegal. I feel like that's illegal. So it may be a good idea if you could get rid of TikTok on any of your devices in your household or all of them. Probably a good idea. But like I said, in today's world, good luck putting that genie back in the bottle or cat back in the bag or toothpaste back in the tube. Good luck. I mean, they continue to claim that the data has, you know, that they gather about users in the United States is stored in the United States.
Starting point is 00:28:54 That's funny. funny because even if that's true, I mean, they're going to be able to access that, which they claimed in this, in their leaked video calls or internal meetings that were accessed. So, you know, it's not a good thing. It's not a good thing. And yet, like I said, I mean, the way this app is a part of our lives now, the only thing to do now is to go back and try to stop a little bit, put a stop gap in so that that information that's already been accessed can't be accessed anymore.
Starting point is 00:29:38 I kill me. I kill me. I worry about it. It'll be fine. Follow me on Twitter at Jeffie JFR, Facebook and Instagram, Jeff Fisher Radio, YouTube channel, Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher. And of course, the thing that makes this podcast. free is your subscribership to Blaze TV.
Starting point is 00:29:58 You can get discount at blazedtv.com slash jeffy. Use the promo code, Jeffie. That gets you, I think, $10 off. I'm not sure, whatever the special discount is. But, you know, you're welcome. Either way, blazTV.com slash jeffy, promo code, jeffy. Oh, and I got to mention my cameo too. I'm up on Cameo now.
Starting point is 00:30:20 The links are, you know, in my bios for Twitter and Facebook and Instagram. I've done a few camos. Thank you to the cameos. Camos? I've done a few camos. Is that what they're called? Yeah, I'm up on cameo anyway,
Starting point is 00:30:36 and I'll do a video for you. They've all wanted nice stuff from me. Come on. Somebody's got to want something mean from me. I want to be a mean guy too, okay? I mean, I appreciate you very much. And the price is going up, by the way. I feel like I'm working on the street corner
Starting point is 00:30:51 for not enough money. I'm giving too much money. money of the pimp. So I'm going to have to, I'm squaring up. I'm going to square up on the pimp and make him give me a little bit more money. But I've done a few cameos. Thank you for those of you that
Starting point is 00:31:05 have asked and requested the cameos. But, you know, it's somebody who's got to have something mean, right? I mean, I just want to be a nice guy all the time. I want to tell somebody to get bent. And of course, you can always email the show Chewing the Fat at theblaze.com. And I will try to get back to you.
Starting point is 00:31:23 If not, if you want to participate in What's the Lie, too, we're going to have a whole new season of What's the Lie? Starting after we get back from the July 4th holiday, Independence Day holiday. So if you'd like to be a contestant on What's the Lie? Chewing the fat at the blaze.com. And who knows, we may even have an actual prize instead of, you know, the non-price. The non-price is kind of funny, though. So it's tough to take that away.
Starting point is 00:32:06 travel far and wide, hustling for great deals on amazing gifts. So you don't have to. They've bagged this season's Italian leather handbags. Designer. Hand-picked the finest sweaters from the rest. Ooh, cashmere. Landed makeup pallets from the brands you love. Brushes too.
Starting point is 00:32:24 And hustled all those wishless topping toys. So plush. Our buyers have got you covered. Marshals. We get the deals. You gift the good stuff. you are one of the millions that are going to be traveling over this 4th of July holiday. Again, I'm recording this on the 30th of June.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Airlines are scrambling. You know, they're working to limit the flight delays. Again, I love it. They make me smile because, man, you're not going to hear about flight delays over the 4th of July weekend. It's just not going to happen. United has cut like 12% of its flights out of Newark in an effort to tame the delays. They said they're cutting about 50 flights a day out of Newark, which will help reduce delays. Okay, I don't know, it's only, you know, domestic routes.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Okay, if you say so, you know, whatever, that's fine. you know we have uh delta has cut back on some uh a couple of cities we talked about that um so we'll see if that uh you know it's such a domino effect i know in europe are we still in the strike are we still in the strike in europe i mean good luck if you have to fly to the u k ah ha or out of the UK yeah that probably is not going to happen but uh you know good luck uh good luck god bless I see where JetBlue, let me stick to the airlines here for a little bit, I see where JetBlue came back to Spirit Airlines and said, no, we really do love you.
Starting point is 00:34:08 We do. We'll give you a little bit more money. Why come to us? We want you. We want you. They've got to be feeling pretty good, Spirit. Because now they just, they told JetBlue, no, no, honey. No, Frontier is a lot more, a lot hotter than you.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Okay. So, I mean, we love you. and everything, but Frontier is a lot hotter than you. We'd rather go with them. So I don't know if JetBlue is going to have to put on a new dress and come back to Spirit, but they're not getting... Everybody wants to marry Spirit now, so we'll see if that actually happens. I see where American Airlines is now starting to test face scanning for passengers at
Starting point is 00:34:56 DFW Airport. They, customers with pre-check can go through security checkpoints at DFW with a face scan and a phone app instead of showing their driver's license or passport. They are going to expand this test to Miami, Phoenix, Washington, D.C., and elsewhere later this year. So at DFW, you will need pre-check, which is the expedited screening service sold by the TSA and an American Airlines mobile app to use the facial recognition technology. I don't know if they charge you for that app or not. It wouldn't surprise me.
Starting point is 00:35:37 So all you have to do to be a part of the service is download the Airside Digital Identity app on iOS or Android. Take a photo of your face, scan your driver's license or passport with the app, enter their American Airlines advantage number, and you're good. That's it. That's all you have to do is give all your information to them and they'll take care of it for you. Don't you worry about it. Okay?
Starting point is 00:36:07 All right. And I see, in Europe, I see where they are looking to go after the airlines for potentially breaking the law with unfair and misleading terms and conditions. I feel like that happens here in the U.S. as well. I just feel like we don't know the rules and laws enough, and it's not up to the airlines to give us those rules. I should have someone on about the airlines, from inside the airlines, and see what we can get from them
Starting point is 00:36:39 when they screw us with all these delays and cancellations. Because they're talking about that the airports are supposed to, the airlines are supposed to be nicer to us. And they're supposed to help. us out with rerouting and destination help and I feel like they're not doing what they're supposed to and that's what they're saying according to the director of policy at which it's a consumer group which W-I-T-C-H question mark so I mean I guess that's the which W-H-C-H-H-Question mark
Starting point is 00:37:24 you know they're good for them good for them take them out of it take them down right now for a flight between london and edinburgh with a full capacity of 180 passengers and my gosh we have 180 people that want to go to london to edinburgh okay uh an airline would potentially have to pay out up to 39,600 euros for delays for three hours or more and under the government's proposed scheme now the maximum payout would be reduced to 7,920 euros. That's a huge difference. I wouldn't be surprised if the old airlines were, you know, coming to the table with a little help to the politicians on that. So, I mean, we've got to do that here in America, too. I've got to do that here and find out what we can get for you here in America when that happens. Because, you know, we get the stories all the time of passengers being offered cash to get off the plane, right?
Starting point is 00:38:21 There was just a story, another story from, uh, Delta, the passengers were boarding a flight from Grand Rapids, Michigan, which is right here, by the way, right there. And I'll hold up my right hand here, Grand Rapids is right there. Grand Rapids to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Wow, that was a booked flight from Grand Rapids to Minneapolis. It wasn't only booked. It was overbooked. That was a plane got like three seats.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Anyway, the airline, I know. Oh, people work all leaving Grand Rapids for their vacation time. I got it. Going to Minneapolis. What a great place to go from Grand Rapids. How would you want to go to Minneapolis from Grand... Anyway, the airline ground staff said, hey, we're overbooked.
Starting point is 00:39:07 And we need eight passengers willing to travel to Minneapolis on a later flight. They said, in return, the volunteers would each be awarded $10,000. dollars if you offer me if i get on a plane and they say uh excuse me uh can you catch a later flight i will say no i can't catch a later flight uh how about we give you ten thousand dollars no problem i'll catch that later flight you're going to hook that up right for me right now yeah no problem i mean 10 grand to let eight other people on a flight i am in or off no problem there was a tweet from this Jason Atten, who is verified, by the way.
Starting point is 00:39:55 I don't know who Jason is. Let's see who Jason Atten is. Jason A-T-A-N, contributing editor tech columnist at Inc. And he has a newsletter, and he's the co-host of 29 Steps. Dot co-Apple must be an Apple podcast. He's from Lansing, Michigan,
Starting point is 00:40:17 which, by the way, if I hold on my hand, Lansing is right here, Grand Rapids is over here. So he's going to, he's flying to Minneapolis from Grand Rapids must be wanting to get out of Lansing. Anyway, he tweeted that he was just offered $10,000. Well, his tweet was on Delta Flight from GRR to MSP. And they just offered $10,000 for people to give up their seats. $10,000.
Starting point is 00:40:45 That's what he said in his tweet. Okay. Now, he's a verified Twitterer, and he's only got like 5,470 followers, but, you know, okay, that's fine. He's whatever. It is what it is. Anyway, he then later tweets that he's still on the stupid plane. I was looking at his tweet. Oh, let's read the full conversation then for old Jason.
Starting point is 00:41:10 I wonder if he took the $10,000. He was traveling with people. He said, yes, all six of us are. still on the flight. I don't want to talk about it. How, Jason, how? How are you and five other people still on that plane when you're offered $10,000 to fly to Minneapolis at a later flight?
Starting point is 00:41:33 Now, you're flying from Grand Rapids, so good luck. I mean, the later flight isn't happening that day. So you're catching that maybe tomorrow or the day after. But for 10 grand, I'm staying a couple extra days in Grand Rapids. I mean, you're hanging out. You might as well read the new Brad Thor book, Rising Tiger. Right. I mean, that's what I'm going to probably do over this 4th of July Independence Day holiday.
Starting point is 00:41:56 But some of you may want to read the new State of Terror by Hillary Clinton and her co-author Louise Penny. I mean, she was on CBS Mornings with Gail King, fortunate enough to interview Hillary and all. Louise about the new book, State of Terror. And she read an excerpt from the book. Now, I have been Hillary Clinton multiple times on this network, and I have read excerpts from her different books. And I want to read this expert to you. From the Hillary Rodham Clinton, Louise Penny book,
Starting point is 00:42:42 State of Terror. felt his naked white skin as it slid against her dark, moist body, luminous in the afternoon sun. She could feel the weight of him on top of her, lying heavy on her heart. Okay. I don't even need any business music with that. I mean, that's awesome stuff. I will not read State of Terror, but awful stuff, except that, I mean, it just comes from an awful person. She laughed out of our fertile imagination. It looked like for a second, Louise was lost.
Starting point is 00:43:25 She didn't even know what Gail was leading her into. I mean, come on now. You did not talk to you about what they were going to talk about. I can't believe Hillary goes and doesn't interview and doesn't know what they're going to ask her. Please, that's going to happen. Especially from Gail. Please, that's going to happen. Okay, so we got Wimbledon going on.
Starting point is 00:43:45 This weekend, we got Canada Day July 1st. We can celebrate that man who doesn't want to celebrate Canada Day. We got the tour to France starting this weekend.
