Starting point is 00:00:00 With Amex Platinum, you have access to over 1,400 airport lounges worldwide. So your experience before takeoff is a taste of what's to come. That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. Blaze Radio Network. And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. So here's a way that you can make a little extra money. All right.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Aaron Judge, baseball player, New York Yankees, looking to break the home run record, or at least, you know, go ahead of Roger Maris. So he's got 60 home runs already. There's 13 games left in the season. All right. According to this, if you were to catch one of his home run balls, go to the game, obviously, and catch one of his balls,
Starting point is 00:00:53 baseballs that he hits out for a home run. So don't look at me like that. That's not even, wow. Wow. Whatever. Catch one of his baseballs that he hits out for a home run. Could fetch anywhere from $250,000 to $2 million. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Now, the record breaker would be 62, right? Now, because he is, you know, not part of the performance enhancing crowd, he's even, you know, the race has been even more, right? I mean, because he has that 60 now. So that ties Babe Ruth at 60. Babe Ruth did it in 1927. That's how long, oh, man. And then, of course, you know Giancarlo Stanton in 2017.
Starting point is 00:01:43 He hit 59. That's pretty amazing. And Babe Ruth hit 59 in 1921. So Ruth hit 59 and 21, and then at 27 hit 60. Apparently he was doing a little extra drinking there between 21 and 27, only was hitting in the 50s. And then Roger Maris hit 61 home runs in 1961. That's, you know, pre-steroid group.
Starting point is 00:02:09 So Judge is looking to tie and beat him. He's at 60 now because you got Sosa. Wow, let's see. 1999, Sammy Sosa hit 63. 2001, Sammy Sosa hit 64. McGuire in 1999 hit 65. In 1998, Sammy Sosa again, hit 66. McGuire in 1998 hit 70.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Barry Bonds in 2001 hit 73 home runs. Amazing. Just put these people in the Hall of Fame. What are we doing? Who cares if they were bathing in steroids, man? That was fun times. Baseball had a crowd. People were excited to watch baseball back then, man.
Starting point is 00:02:53 I mean, I just tell you that I, you know, I enjoyed it. We'll just leave it at that. I enjoyed it. But, you know, the baseball traditionalists, we can't have that. They bathed in steroids. We don't want anything to do with them. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:03:10 So Aaron Judge is not bathing in steroids that we know of. And so there's 13 games left in the season. And if you catch one, I mean, you're worth a couple hundred grand catching a baseball? That'd be sweet. And I know this particular broadcast originates. here in DFW. And the last four games that the Yankees play are in town. They play the Texas Rangers in Dallas.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Arlington, Jeff. Okay, I got you in the DFW area. Now, according to this, Major League Baseball is going to include a little covert marking on every baseball now that's pitched to judge to the end of the state. season so that if you were to say go to someone and say this is it this is the ball this is the one he hit uh pay me 250 000 they'd be able to tell they can they run you through the scanner and they have the little boop little beeper to let you know that that was the actual baseball that was hit by
Starting point is 00:04:24 aaron judge so he's averaging right now home run every two and a half game about every two and a half games. And so he's probably not going to, it would be sweet if he, originally they were hoping that he would beat the testosterone bathers without the testosterone. But it doesn't look like he's going to make that. But he can beat Roger, no problem. He can hit hopefully 62, 63.
Starting point is 00:04:49 It would be fun to watch. It might almost be worth going over to Arlington to watch a game at the end of the season. I watch the highlight. Welcome! Welcome to chewing the fat. So the chess world is all up in arms. We talked a little bit about the match between Carlson and Neiman, where Neiman defeated Carlson. And Carlson gave a cryptic tweet,
Starting point is 00:05:21 and they looked into it because they thought that Neiman was cheating, and he used some sort of butt plug to cheat with or something. it was all it was all everyone went okay all all right he's a sore loser well they had another match okay they were facing off at the julius bear generation cup and who doesn't i mean you were excited i know about the julius bear generation cup you were if you're a chess man and uh so they were playing each other again. And so Carlson, the one who, you know, did the cryptic tweet and said Neiman cheated, they, uh, Neiman moved.
Starting point is 00:06:06 He had the opening move with White. And then Carlson quit. Just walked. It wasn't going to play. Shut off his video stream. The whole thing he was done. So the chess world is up in arms. So when you see the headlines that the chess world is up in arms, it's a scandal in the
Starting point is 00:06:22 chess world. It does give a little ink to the chess world. they need. But I'm just letting you know what's going on in the chess world. And I wish someone would explain to me how Neiman cheated with that butt plug, but no one has yet. How many times have we talked about on this show? Kanye West, his name is Ye. He legally changed his name to Ye.
Starting point is 00:06:51 If you'd like to say, Yay, formerly Kanye, A. West. Fine. Do that. But these publications refuse to call him yay. Why is his name being boycotted by these publications? I don't understand. The man's name is yay. I'm looking at this article from the Daily Mail.U.K. Which, by the way, the Daily Mail website is agonizing online. I'm just letting you know, but that's just a little pet peeve of mine. Because they have videos popping up all over the place and rolling and scrolling and it's just okay enough already but the story is Kanye West absolutely has political aspirations and says God had him fall on the
Starting point is 00:07:41 sword the sword who was it the other day this because that's sword anyway and he vows to cure cancer with fresh air and food. Who does he think he is, Joe Biden? I mean, okay, okay, yay, we got you. And he wanted to make Yeezy the biggest firm in the world. All right, Daily Mail. His name is Yee.
Starting point is 00:08:08 The headlines should be, Yay! Formerly Kanye West. He spoke with ABC News and said he was not ruling out a return to politics after his failed 2020 bid, said he felt that God made him fall on the sword and remained interested in political career
Starting point is 00:08:27 and was spending time with Jared Kushner. Okay. In a wide-ranging interview, West said he wanted to cure cancer, which afflicted his father in 2018 with fresh air and food. He discussed his co-parenting with Kim, saying he frequently disagreed
Starting point is 00:08:45 as dad and a Christian with their clothes and TV watching, praised his ex-we, wife, however, and said he wanted her to be calm as a mother to the four children. And he discussed his legal battles with Adidas and Gap. And said he felt confident in his legal team. So, okay, his dad had stomach cancer back in 2018, and he wanted to work to get that cure with fresh air and food. So good luck to yay.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I hope that happens. But all of that, just to let me remind you that the man legally changed his name. You don't have to like it. You don't have to want it. But you have to call someone by their name. You just, I mean, that's his name. All right. Yay.
Starting point is 00:09:37 We good? Apparently not. Did you ever watch the show Riverdale? They had a star Ryan Grantham as one of the ones. the stars of Riverdale. And, you know, Ryan apparently has some issues. He was just sentenced to life in prison. Life in prison.
Starting point is 00:10:04 Man, I'm telling you what? You think life is bad for you now? When you, when the hammer comes down and it's life in prison, that's it, Corroo Magerman. Life in prison. Holy cow. That does. That's something I would not want.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I would not want that. So he's 24. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 14 years. So he's out in 14. Good behavior, 10. In today's world, maybe tomorrow. I don't know. You never know.
Starting point is 00:10:46 But he pled guilty to murdering his mother back at March of 2020. Now, it claims here that he, said he killed Barbara Wade 64 in an effort to save her from witnessing his assassination attempt of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Starting point is 00:11:06 So he wanted to kill the Prime Minister and he didn't want Mom to know about it. So his only recourse is to kill Mom. Hello. So then after he kills Mom he decides oh man I probably don't want to kill the
Starting point is 00:11:26 Prime Minister. all right i'll turn myself in uh yeah so he turned himself in and said yeah i was thinking about count the problem i decided not to after i killed my mom wow okay so i guess the judge was like
Starting point is 00:11:48 all right well i i'm considering the failing mental health a mitigating factor this failing health is a mitigating factor is why you only gave him a wife in prison and we're going to give him a chance for parole. He seemed truly remorseful. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Good luck. Good luck, Ryan. I hope you get the help that you need in prison. But if you start, and this is just a helpful hint from me, let's say you're sitting around doing nothing, contemplating your navel, wondering why people, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:27 Still call Kanye West, Kanye West instead of Ye. And you think, you know, I want to do something really bad, but I don't want my mom to know, so I'm going to kill my mom before I do that something really bad. Maybe you ought to not do any of it and just get help. Maybe that ought to be your key. But what do I know? Nothing.
Starting point is 00:12:52 That's what I know. All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. So for those of you listening live, it is the 23rd of September 2022. Thank you for listening to Chewing the Fat. You can follow me on Twitter at Jeffrey JFR. Facebook and Instagram is Jeff Fisher Radio. YouTube is Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher.
Starting point is 00:13:20 And you can always email the show Chewing the Fat at the Blaze.com. Today, Avatar is going to be back in theaters. How excited are you? To bring back the movie that captured the world's imagination. Avatar. Now, it's still the top movie in the world, the biggest grossing movie in the world. It's got, I mean, $2 billion.
Starting point is 00:13:55 It's almost that $3 billion. That's what he wants. That's why Cameron released it again. So he can get over it. It's at $2,847,397. No, $2 billion, $847,397, $3397. And that'll hit, but with this release, it'll put it over $3 billion, which is what he is doing.
Starting point is 00:14:22 What a douche. So his excuses, of course, oh, I'm releasing it now. So people remember it because. Avatar 2, the way of the water, is coming out in December, December 16th, 2022. And that's just the way it is. And I'll tell you what, another thing. I was just told, you know, they were trying to give me a hard time about the elements of the film and how long it was. And I said, hey, you know what?
Starting point is 00:14:54 I made Titanic. And you know this building we're meeting in right now? this new half billion dollar complex on your lot titanic paid for that so i get to do this i mean the answer to that is of course you do because he did already but james is such a i mean calm down i'm sorry mr cameron so you got that to look forward to uh you can go to the theater and see avatar again i mean i like the movie i do truly like the movie i you know it's a good movie to just to have on, you know, when you're, you know, like, let's say you're sitting there and your wife is cleaning the house and you don't want to have anything on that's distracting her. Just put on
Starting point is 00:15:38 avatar and, you know, put the volume down a little bit so you can just let Avatar roll while she's cleaning the house. That's a good movie just to have on and enjoy. It's just an example of how you could view Avatar. But, I mean, I like it. I just, I don't know that it was all that. And the new one didn't look like, it looked like they still had some of the old stuff. So, I mean, how far ahead in the future are we really? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:13 And I watched, I was forced to watch the latest saw movie last night with my wife. Spiral with Chris Rock. And, you know, Saw movies are Saw movies. You can quote me on that. Saw movies are Saw movies And I appreciate the new ways of making people die And how they make people die
Starting point is 00:16:35 And the mental games you go through When you watch how these people are for I want to play a game The difference between this saw though And I haven't seen them all I've seen an awful lot of them though My wife loves those stupid movies You know, I'm forced to watch them.
Starting point is 00:16:58 So this particular one spiral with Chris Rock, and I love Chris Rock, he, there's the killer, doesn't, I mean, he doesn't give anybody a chance to live. He says he does, but you have no chance. He says, and if you do that, then you will live, but you won't, because he already has worked it in that you're going to die. And that's kind of, I mean, it's kind of, I mean, it's. kind of good if you're that person because you are in a lot of pain doing what he wants you to do to live. You'll live, but you're going to be living without your entire body. Your head will be
Starting point is 00:17:41 walking with just your feet connected to it. You'll be alive, though. I mean, it's pretty incredible. And Samuel L. Jackson, of course, is in it. Yeah, if you like the saw stuff, really good. It's just another Saw movie. And there's a new Dahmer movie coming out. On Netflix,
Starting point is 00:18:05 they released the trailer for it. It's called Monster, the Jeffrey Dahmer story. And it stars winning actor Evan Peters. I know my daughter's Teen Heartthrob played Dahmer in a movie.
Starting point is 00:18:21 Who? What was his? That's his stupid name. Ross Lynch. He played Dahmer and, you know, I guess he did okay. He was a complete turnaround for the type of character that he is because he was, you know, as a teen heartthrob R5 and my daughter, you know, loved him. But apparently, Dahmer Monster, the Jeffrey Dahmer story, shows that the series exposes
Starting point is 00:18:46 these unconscionable crimes centered around underserved victims and their communities impacted by systemic racism and institutional failures of the police that allowed one of America's most notorious serial killers to continue his murderous spree in plain sight for over a decade. Apparently, one of his neighbors tries to alert police to the fact that there's something wrong happening in his apartment. And this was just because of underserved victims and their communities impacted by systemic racism.
Starting point is 00:19:23 him is why he didn't get caught. So you've got to look forward to with the next Netflix Monster Jeffrey Dahmer story because I know you want to watch it. It makes me want to watch it. I'll tell you that.
Starting point is 00:19:39 And then Steve Perry, you know him, you love him. Singer for a journey. He has now sued his other bandmates. Wait, what's going on? Yeah. The band's songs has registered trademarks. And between February and May of 2022, Neil Sean and Jonathan Kane
Starting point is 00:20:00 were granted trademarks for some of the band's biggest hits. Separate ways, open arms, any way you want it, for use on merchandising such as hats, jackets, shirts, without Perry's consent. Who do you think you are? I am Journey. Okay, me. and he argues that an agreement between himself and Sean and Kane states that no partner
Starting point is 00:20:29 may authorize, approve, or disapprove any use or exploitation or grant or license any rights in or to any group composition, in whole or in part, including without limitation the titles thereof. Does it make sense? I mean, you can't do anything without my say so, okay? I have to say so. We have to all have to agree. especially me because I'm I'm Steve Perry
Starting point is 00:20:54 so without written without prior written unanimous consent of all the partners in each instance and any purported authorization approval, disapproval, grant or license and violation hereof shall be deemed void from inception. So they entered into this agreement in 1997
Starting point is 00:21:14 for any song or musical composition. So I don't know what kind of deal what kind of deal Neil and Jonathan were trying to pull over Steve's eyes but Steve's not having it. You guys trying to sneak in a little bit extra money without giving me a cut
Starting point is 00:21:34 and I didn't say it was okay that's not going to happen. So look a little fisticuffs could be happening. A little street fighting could be happening with the Journey bandmates. I don't know, were they on tour or something pretending to be Journey? That's
Starting point is 00:21:51 possible. Maybe Neil and Jonathan were on tour pretending to be Journey and just said we're going to play these songs and we're going to sell these hats and shirts with all the stuff on it and we're going to make a bunch of money on the road and Steve Perry is home, you know, contemplating his navel and we're just going to take the money and run. And Steve is like, not so fast. It's hockey season and you can get anything you need delivered with Uber Eats. Well, almost, almost anything. So no, you can't get a nice rank on Uber Eats. But iced tea, ice cream, or just plain old ice?
Starting point is 00:22:40 Yes, we deliver those. Goaltenders, no, but chicken tenders, yes. Because those are groceries, and we deliver those too. Along with your favorite restaurant food, alcohol, and other everyday essentials. Order Uber Eats now. For alcohol, you must be legal drinking age. Please enjoy responsibly. Product availability varies by region.
Starting point is 00:22:57 See app for details. Houses of the Hoidi Toidi. So I see a story about Terry Bratjo. former Pittsburgh's dealer, Fox News, football analyst, four-time Super Bowl champion, Terry Bratcha. I see where there's a story that talks about him selling his ranch in Oklahoma,
Starting point is 00:23:19 744 acres, $22.5 million, and they try to make it, you know, this, I don't know, this terrible thing, like who can afford it in today's world? Are you looking at some of the houses that are being sold around America? I know it's in the, you know, down in South Florida
Starting point is 00:23:35 and out west in Hollywood but I mean somebody 22.5 I spit on 22.5 million okay I know it's a you know it's a horse ranch it's a working cattle ranch you know 22.5 million it's got you know 600 square foot
Starting point is 00:23:53 main house it's beautiful I mean it's gorgeous now I would say that they didn't actually look into this story at all? Because if you were to follow Terry Bradshaw, say, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:24:10 like on Facebook, he's done some Facebook lives. They've moved out of that place. They've already moved to Texas to the new place. He's already talked about moving out of the Oklahoma place. So he's not there. It's already for sale. And they say that he's had problems selling, you know, property before. But, you know, he's already out of there. So he was he was tired of living in
Starting point is 00:24:35 Oklahoma and wanted to come back to Texas and I think he had enough, it was too much work. I mean, even with do people, 744 acres and horses and cattle and stuff, you're putting in a day. I mean, I don't have to tell you that. You know that.
Starting point is 00:24:54 But I'm, you know, for someone who's unaware, you know, you're putting in a tough day. You know how many, how you have to make sure that you tell people what to do and then you have to follow through to make sure that they get it done. You got to delegate and you got to follow through. You can't just delegate because then people start to, if you don't follow through, they don't do what you ask them to do. So it goes for long days to follow through after you delegate. I know, I know. And then I see where
Starting point is 00:25:24 my main man, houses of the hoity tooty still, as long as we're in this window. I see where my main man, Alec Baldwin. It's the rules. It's still the rules. We haven't changed the rules. We've got to go by the rules. That's just the way it is.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Now you hear his name. That's what happens. I mean, it's just the way it is. So we did talk about him buying his 55-acre farm in Vermont, right? I remember talking about that. Well, now he's putting his Hampton's estate up for sale. Now the Hampton's estate, it's a dump, and it's only $29 million. You can pick this up, no problem.
Starting point is 00:26:06 So I know that the wife sold her one lake house, which seriously was a dump. That was like $530,000. Was it a garage? I mean, I'm surprised that Alec even, you know, acknowledge that place. I have to go to my cottage up on the lake. Don't bother me with talking about stuff. The garage. So now he still has the penthouse in Manhattan.
Starting point is 00:26:41 That's, that was like $16 million. Apparently, according to this, according to the Post, the New York Post, he has quietly shopped off market. So, you know, that means he's, you know, standing around. you want to buy the place if you want to buy the place I'll sell it to you I give it to you right now
Starting point is 00:27:04 for 17 million I'm out of here you can bet on that so he's got the Hampton's place which he bought for 1.7 he bought it for 1.7 million dollars wow
Starting point is 00:27:21 purchased his Hampton's estate in Ottawa for 1.7 or some 3. Okay, 3.3 million. He bought the place for. And that's where he spent most of the pandemic. I looked at the pictures of the Hampton's house,
Starting point is 00:27:39 and if you watched any of his Instagram lives during the pandemic, he was always on his little golf card, or he was sitting on the porch, and you could see what was behind him. And that's where he was at, at the Hampton's estate. So I guess he's sick of living there. So he's dumping that place. That's four-bedroom, seven baths,
Starting point is 00:27:57 10 acres, 10,000 square feet living space. I mean, it's beautiful. It's worth the money. There's no doubt about it. It's gorgeous. This one shot. Oh, man. You could live there.
Starting point is 00:28:13 No problem. Why don't you take your 22 million and purchase it? But, you know, so I don't know. I don't know what to tell you. I don't know what Alec is going to be doing, but apparently I would guess that if he's dumping some of these places, and he said he was going to move out of New York, he doesn't want.
Starting point is 00:28:38 He loves New York. That's his town. It's where he belongs. I'm Alec Baldwin. So he can't. I don't know. He can say he's going to move out, but there's no way. I mean, he loves being able to,
Starting point is 00:28:50 he wanted to move out in New York with no people were there. Because when he's walking down the street, he wants people to recognize, hey, he can pretend like he doesn't want people to know who he is, but he wants to walk down the street and have people go, ooh, there's Alec Baldwin. I don't think he wants the gunshot.
Starting point is 00:29:08 But that's what he wants. So he'll keep the place in New York. But dumping the Hampton State would make one think that perhaps he's preparing to having to pay a little money for some lawsuit settlements and needs a little extra cash. but what do I know? I mean, really,
Starting point is 00:29:30 speaking of what do I know should be actually a segment, what do I know? Because I'll give you some headlines, just some headlines from science. Things going on in this science world. Science! And it's going to be, you know what,
Starting point is 00:29:46 that's the title of the segment. It may even be the title of this show. What do I know? Human embryos created with DNA from three pages, Developed safely without defects. All right. Study finds technique
Starting point is 00:30:02 avoids passing down genetic defects from mothers. Okay. So great. I mean, if we can get the DNA from three parents without the defects. Look at perfect kids. That's great.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Researchers, transplant genetic repair mechanism from moss into human cells showing the machinery will begin trying to correct errors in the cell's DNA. Well, researchers develop miniature antennae that can operate wirelessly and fit inside a single human cell, allowing monitoring and potential control of cellular activities in real time. Study of fossilized eggs, concludes diversity of dinosaur species was declining during the late Cretaceous period, suggesting, ah, the animals were on the decline anyway prior to the asteroid.
Starting point is 00:31:16 Eh, you know what, they were going away anyway. And then the asteroid hit, no big deal. One last headline story for you in science and from, how do I know? specialized blood vessels protect whales you know just yesterday we talked about all those whales beaching themselves in Tunisia and they're worried and I mean half of them were still alive I don't know if they were dragging them back into the water
Starting point is 00:31:43 or if they were you know if the lady had showed up and giving them okay oh okay that's one of my favorite clips I can still see that lady standing next to that beached whale. Oh, okay. I mean, good for her for trying to save the whale.
Starting point is 00:32:05 Anyway, I don't know what they're doing to try to save the whales in Tunisia, but there's hundreds of them. Think of the smell of that place. Holy cow. You talk about two or three hundred whales decomposing? Oh, man. That is not good. Anyway, specialized blood vessels.
Starting point is 00:32:23 protect whales from brain damage while swimming. A new study revolves, resolves mystery of why the mammals are unaffected by pulses in blood pressure caused by the forceful movement that they do. I mean, I am not a scientist. Again, this segment is, what do I know? But maybe these specialized blood vessels that protect the whales break down. and when those specialized blood vessels break down
Starting point is 00:32:57 that's when they beat themselves. They're trying to kill themselves. Maybe we ought to just leave a beat and let them alone instead of Oh, okay. But what do I? Boarding for flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes.
Starting point is 00:33:28 What? Sounds like Ojo time. Play Ojo? Great idea. Feel the fun with all the latest slots in live casino games and with no wagering requirements. What you win is yours to keep groovy. Hey, I won!
Starting point is 00:33:42 Sporting will begin when passenger Fisher is done celebrating. 19 plus Ontario only. Please play responsibly. Concerned by your gambling or that if someone close to you, call 186653310 or visitcomexonterio.ca. Hey, it's Friday, and I've got a special edition of what's being called America's Favorite Game Show. what's the lie
Starting point is 00:34:06 so let's do it what's the lie where contestants try to decipher the lie from our count of one two three four headline one of them is not true that's why we call it what's the lie
Starting point is 00:34:25 so today I thought we'd do a special what's the lie on the royals because we lost her the queen she died and they buried her, they say, this past Monday.
Starting point is 00:34:42 And so my man Chris Cruz, who's already been a contestant on What's the Lie? So he's a returning contestant. I mean, he didn't win. All righty.
