Starting point is 00:00:00 Boarding for flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes. Ugh, what? Sounds like Ojo time. Play Ojo? Great idea. Boating will begin when passenger fisher is done celebrating.
Starting point is 00:00:22 19 plus Ontario only. Please play responsibly. Concerned by your gambling or that if someone close, you call 186653300 or visit Commexontera.com. Blaze Radio Network And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. So a teenager, a New Mexico teenager, found $135,000 in cash on the ground and immediately called authorities to turn it in. The cash was left behind by a Wells Fargo subcontractor whose responsibility it is to refill the ATMs.
Starting point is 00:00:56 According to sources, the worker just accidentally left behind without noticing. Yeah, it happens all the time. What did I do with that $135,000? He probably doesn't have the job anymore. The teenager Jose Nunez Romance got rewarded with a $500 check, a gift card from a local restaurant, season tickets to the University of New Mexico Lobos football games, and assigned football by Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Erlacher. Now he says, I did the right thing, and I know my parents are proud, and my family is proud as well.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Now, I will say that I hope, I choose, I choose to believe that he did not find $135,000. I choose to believe he found like a couple hundred thousand dollars and followed the chewing the fat plan of taking deep pocketing some cash before you turn it in. So that he kept, I don't know, 60, 65,000, and then he turned in the $135,000,
Starting point is 00:01:56 and everybody was like, yay. you turn it out this money. We can't believe you turned out this money. And in the closet, he's got an extra $65,000, plus the Good Samaritan rewards from the police department and the banks. I choose to believe that,
Starting point is 00:02:13 but I have a feeling that that's not true. I will say this. That's what would be happening to me. If there was $135,000 in cash, I would have turned in. I don't know, 100,000. And then, you know, they can't do anything. Anyway, it's just, I'm choosing to believe that he deep-pocketed $65,000, and he still gets all the accolades.
Starting point is 00:02:41 But that's just me. Welcome! Welcome to Chewing the Fat. All right, there's a couple more stories of people returning things that they found. A couple of people returning wallets. One, the guy returns a wallet that he finds. it was lying on the driveway. But as I listened to the return,
Starting point is 00:03:10 it really brought to light something else that really kind of bugged me. So this guy, and it's under the caption of honest guy returns wallet, he finds lying on the driveway, honest man picked up a wallet, and returned it to its owner. And this was posted by Epic Inspired. And so I will play this. Oh, I love the music.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Okay, good. Okay, so he rings the ring doorbell cam. That's what we're watching and listening to. And he's standing outside just off the porch, and you see the video of him just standing there, waiting to hear from something. Okay, the music is killing. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:26 I see you walking. Okay. God bless you, too. Have a great day, buddy. Yeah. Okay. So, all right. So, actually, the guy is.
Starting point is 00:04:56 cool and I would do the same thing. When you see a wallet laying at someone's driveway, you absolutely take it up to the front door. I make jokes about, I mean, you can steal the money from Wells Fargo, but you don't steal the money from, you know, people in the neighborhood. My issue with this is,
Starting point is 00:05:13 is that the guy that answers the ring doorbell is the owner of the rental property. So he still has access to the ring doorbell. I don't know if he's given access to the rent doorbell. But I mean, I lease, you know, my home. And I would not want the owner or the leasing agent to have access to the ring doorbell cam. No, no thank you.
Starting point is 00:05:41 So that really kind of bugs me. And he said, oh, I see you walk by in the neighborhood from time to time. So that kind of irks me a little. I'm not real sure. I'm happy that the man turned the wallet back in. All of that. It's very nice. It's very kind.
Starting point is 00:05:54 I just don't like the idea of the house owner who's renting the house out having access to the ring can. Really just kind of bugs me. Now, we have another guy that turns the money back in, and he is awesome. So this guy, I can't stop laughing about it. He finds the wallet and returns it. However, while he's returning it, and the video is on a ring doorbell. he ends up telling him that he found the wallet and he's taking some money and that he used one of the cards. It is awesome.
Starting point is 00:06:34 And what's that? A, I have with your ID in it, this is the address. So I brought it all the way out here. You could have a root with this part. So I just wanted to see if I could take, it wasn't a thousand a year. I counted it. There was only 300. But I wanted to see if I could grab, I just wanted to see if I could grab 20.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Okay, so he turns around now because there's over a thousand in the wallet. So he brings out, like, I don't know, a handful of 20s, but he turns around away from the camera to knock out the money. So he ends up saying that he's taking so much of the cash. But he took more than what he says. Grab 20. Yeah, he shows $1.20 bill. If you see like a little $7 charge on your car, I had to pay my Netflix.
Starting point is 00:07:24 But I wrote down to the login. You can log in to the Netflix. That's awesome. But I'm going to leave your wallet right here, though. So it's all good. And I just only took, I only took 120. I already. It is handy.
Starting point is 00:07:34 He's got more than 120, but only took 120. The other 220s was already mine. Yeah. I appreciate it. No, really. The other 220s were already mine. Uh-huh. I love that guy.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Okay, so first of all, he's being very nice. He should have just, this is just a helpful hand from chewing the fat. He should have just put the wallet, taken them. After he used the card, he's already busted, right? So he's got to fess up to that. You got to let the guy go after that because he used it to pay his Netflix account. And he left you the password. So you could go ahead and use it if you want to.

Starting point is 00:08:50 We'd love to talk, business. I was looking at a story from Anna Fleck, a data journalist, and as she put together this chart that shows data collected by Gallup in June of 23. So six months ago, for those of you listening live, today is the 8th of January, 2024. And it shows that the institutions Americans trust most and least. Wow. In 2022, public confidence declined in 11 out of the 16 institutions.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Tract by Gallup, with trust in the Supreme Court falling by 11 percentage points to 25%. And in the presidency by 15 percentage points to 23%. That is in 2022. Let's take a look at the 2023 data, shall we? At top of the list, the U.S. institutions, Americans trust most is small business, 65%. And the military is still at six. 60%. Now, those are the only two, according to this data, are that are over 50%. The rest below 50%, and some are well below 50%. Like 43% the police are trusted. Okay, the medical system, 34%. The church or organized religion, 32%. The Supreme Court, 27%. Wow. Banks. Banks. 26%.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Public schools, 26%. Okay, these are all 26%. Banks, public schools, the presidency, large tech companies, 26%. Organized labor, 25%. That might need to be lower. Newspapers, 18%. The criminal justice system, 17%.
Starting point is 00:10:52 Television news, 14%. Big business, 14%. And coming in at the bottom, at the bottom of this list, the institutions Americans trust most and least, of course. 1,100, 1,013 U.S. respondents 18 plus surveyed June 1st through the 22nd of 2023. Coming in at 8% is the U.S. Congress. They must be so proud. They have got to be proud. They have won us over.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Wow. There you have it. I don't know where you fall in that. Some of these, I feel like I've been beaten down thanks to this administration. There's no question about that. But the rest has kind of been beaten down with themselves. But the way they've handled things. Holy cow.
Starting point is 00:11:51 The only two, though. Still kind of strong. Not as strong as you'd like to have it. Small business. 65% and the military at 60%. Those are the only two, according to this, that are well over 50%. I don't know what the data shows on the lotto. I see where mega millions is worth 165 million for the drawing tomorrow night with a 79.9 million
Starting point is 00:12:19 cash payout. And the power ball almost worth not playing. And that drawing is tonight. $46 million. It's kind of sad. I mean, $46 million, $22.8 million cash payout. It'd be pretty sweet.
Starting point is 00:12:35 You'd end up with, what, $10 million, something like that, $10, $11 million? That's still pretty darn good. I know those of you listening to this show probably couldn't use $10 million. Let me say this, I could. And that'd be nice to win it. But it's pretty sad.
Starting point is 00:12:50 When $46 million should you're like, eh, should I even play? And is it an institution that you trust? The lotto? Okay. If you say so, let's go to the break room. I do. I do.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Kind of. Let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. So the Golden Globes were last night, and I recorded it. I have not watched it, although I saw some of the highlights going through my social media feed. which, you know, at Jeffrey JFR on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram is Jeff Fisher Radio. And I was looking so yesterday, Oppenheimer and by Barbie took home wins. We got to go down the list of some of the winners in the Golden Globe.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Do we? Yes, yes, we do. Poor things. Jennifer Lawrence, Ali Wong and Stephen Yang became the first actors of Asian descent to win in their roles for beef. Timothy Charlemagne and Kylie Jenner got a little close and comfy. Jeremy Allen White's Calvin Klein ad was there. Joe Coy, he was not that big of a hit at the Golden Globes. He even blamed the writers, which I love.
Starting point is 00:14:07 But apparently Taylor Swift did not like the jokes about her. Tough. Get over it. And Kieran Culkin told Pedro Pascal to suck it as he walked by after he won his award. So kind of funny. There are some things that happened. You know, we go down the list of the Golden Globes and who won. Some of the shows, like, well, we'll get to it.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Divine Joy Randolph was the best performance by an actress in supporting role in a motion picture for the holdovers. Best performance by an actor in a supporting role. In any motion picture, Robert Downey Jr., Oppenheimer. Yeah, he definitely deserved that. I know my man, Robert Duch Niro, was up for Killers of the Flower Moon. Oh, darn, he didn't win. Best performance by an actress in a limited series,
Starting point is 00:14:57 anthology series, or motion picture made for television? Allie Wong for beef was the winner, and I already told you, Ali and Stephen both won for beef. I have to watch this. It's on Netflix. I have not watched it. It sounds okay. I don't know why I haven't watched it.
Starting point is 00:15:15 It is a show about, it began with a beef with some road rage, and there's 10 episodes, so it looks like it is worth a watch. I do not know why I have not watched it yet. I apologize. I'll let you know. Best performance by an actress and a supporting role in a television series. Elizabeth DeBecki of the Crown. Best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a television series.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Matthew McFadden in Succession. Yeah, he was great in Succession. No question. Although I will say this. Eben Moss Bacharach in The Bear was fantastic. I really, I mean, Succession had three people up for Alexander Scarsguard and Alan Ruck, and they gave it to McFadden. but I would not have been surprised,
Starting point is 00:16:02 and I've been okay with Ebbin Moss, Baccarach from the Bear. He was really good in The Bear. And the second season focused a number of episodes. Well, I mean, both seasons, he was big. And it was really good. He did a great job. Best screenplay, Anatomy of a Fall. That was, you know, a foreign film, really.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Well, that's what the Golden Globes are, Jeff. I know. Okay. Best performance by an actor. in a television series musical or comedy. Jeremy Allen White, The Bear. Yeah, I mean, he was the bear. He's awesome.
Starting point is 00:16:36 I really enjoyed the heck out of that show. Ricky Jervas won for Armageddon, best performance and stand-up comedy on television. I will say that Ricky can be proud of winning a Golden Globe, but he was up against Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, Sarah Silverman, Trevor Noah. You know, Chris Rock was in there, too, with selective outrage, so he did have some
Starting point is 00:16:59 some competition with Chris Rock but the rest of them are not hardly any competition at all. Best motion picture now in English. Anatomy of a fall. Cleaned up. They got two. The best performance by an actress
Starting point is 00:17:14 in a television series, musical, or comedy from Oye and DeBi Yeah, from the bear. Yeah, she was great. She was not as good. I like her. I liked her character. But she was definitely not as good as what's his face,
Starting point is 00:17:30 Eben Moss, Bachrock, and the Bear. Sorry, sorry about it. You just weren't. Best performance by an actor in a television series or drama. They gave that to Karen Culkin's succession. That's when he gave Pedro the sucket. As he walked by,
Starting point is 00:17:46 it was meant in fun, and they both took it that way. Best motion picture animated, The Boy and the Heron. I love it, which of that was great. I have not seen that. Best director, Christopher Nolan. Oppenheimer.
Starting point is 00:17:58 of course. Best performance by an actress in a motion picture, musical or comedy. Emma Stone, poor things. Best performance by an actor in a motion picture drama. Sillion Murphy. Oppenheimer. Yeah, he was great in that movie. I see where DiCaprio was up for that. And Killers of the Flower Moon. Darn the luck, he did get it. Although I will say Bradley Cooper in Maestro was pretty good. I watched that not too long over the holidays.
Starting point is 00:18:25 And that was worth to watch. It was fun to watch. whether I don't know how much of it was true or not, but it was fun to watch. It was about Leonard Bernstein. It was a biopic. I got it. It was a biopic. And then the best original score motion picture,
Starting point is 00:18:43 Ludwig Gornassum from Oppenheimer, Best Original Song Motion Picture, What Was I Made for? By Billy Elish and Vanessa O'Connell from Barbie. Congratulations. Cinematic and box office achievement went to Barbie. Best Television
Starting point is 00:18:59 Limited Series Anthology Series or motion picture made for television beef was the winner I have to watch that what am I doing? Best television series
Starting point is 00:19:07 musical or comedy The Bear The Bear was really good It was up against Ed Lasso Abbott Elementary Jury Duty Only Murders in the Building
Starting point is 00:19:15 Barry all of those are except for Abbott Elementary which I don't know about that one but only murders in the building awesome
Starting point is 00:19:24 really enjoyed the heck out of that series. Best performance by an actress on a television series drama, Sarah Snook for Succession. I mean, Bella Ramsey for The Last of Us was great. Helen Mern in 1923 was great. Carrie Russell and the diplomat. She was awesome
Starting point is 00:19:40 in that. So, you know, congratulations. Best television series drama, succession is the winner. Yeah. You know, I mean, The Last of Us, the Crown, the morning show, The Diplomat, 1923. Those were all tremendous shows. Best performance by
Starting point is 00:19:56 an actor in a motion picture musical or comedy Paul Giamani, the holdovers was the winner. Best motion picture musical or comedy, poor things. Best performance by an actress and a motion picture or drama. Lily Gladstone, Killers of the Flower Moon. There is a big surprise.
Starting point is 00:20:11 If you don't know why, you should. Motion picture drama, Oppenheimer is the winner. And those are your Golden Globe winners for 2024. Also, happy birthday is in order to Elvis Aaron Presley, the king.
Starting point is 00:20:28 He was born on this date, the 8th of January, 1935. Now, he passed away. I know. He's been dead, Jeff. He died back in 1977. What are you doing? Because he's Elvis Presley. He's the king.
Starting point is 00:20:44 And we will not, we will not besmirch the king. So happy birthday on this day. And we will be listening to some Elvis Presley as the day goes on today. I'll tell you that. And I will listen to, uh, Some Elvis Presley from the Blues Elvis career. It's just awesome, man. I'd like a stranger.
Starting point is 00:21:03 I'd like a stranger in my own home doubt. Can't wait. With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too. That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. Who died today? Who died today?
Starting point is 00:21:42 Well, over the holidays, founding member of the Dixie Chicks, Laura Lynch, was killed in a car crash in West Texas. Just a horrific car crash. She was instantly killed. She was the founding member, the one picture of her here. She spent time, she lived here in Texas,
Starting point is 00:22:05 and she was on her way to Dell City, Texas. where she split her time between Del City and the city of Fort Worth, Texas. She was driving from El Paso to Del City. She was pronounced dead at the scene. They don't know. I haven't seen any reports on whether the person driving the vehicle that slammed into her, a Dodge Ram pickup truck slammed into her. He was still alive.
Starting point is 00:22:35 And so we'll find out whether he was under the influence or, you know, it was just, an accident doubtful though Laura Lynch a founding member of the Dixie Chicks remember they changed their name to the chicks after the George Floyd incident but there's one picture here of her that I really enjoyed she's in front of her automobile which is an older model Rolls Royce which is looks beautiful
Starting point is 00:23:00 she's got her cowboy boots on and she's got you know a license plate of the day GRN MTHR I guess that's a grown mother So, rest in peace. Lauren Lynch, dead at the age of 65. Also, who died today? Cindy Morgan, Cindy Morgan. You know her from Tron and Caddyshack?
Starting point is 00:23:27 She has passed away at the age of 69. Very, very sad. She was found in Palm Beach County in Florida. They confirmed the news saying that she died of natural causes. okay the officials would not specify when she died okay so what do they find her
Starting point is 00:23:46 she'd been dead for months I don't know she was in a lot of stuff man she was great in Caddyshack no question but she was you know she guest starred in the love boat and Vegas and chips
Starting point is 00:23:59 those were all great bougie-ass television shows Matlock I mean hello if you were in Matlock you were a star hello Matlock I mean, my favorite quote from Ben Matlock, murder is a messy business.
Starting point is 00:24:14 She was in Mancuso, FBI, Hunter. Oh my gosh, Hunter, what a fantastic show. You know it was. Don't look to me like that. That's with my man, the former NFL player, Fred Dreyer. Yeah, Hunter. Awesome. So Cindy Morgan, dead at the age of 69.
Starting point is 00:24:34 Also, very sad, as if the others aren't sad. actor Christian Oliver is dead at the age of 51 also dying in this accident. He died in a plane crash in the Caribbean. His two daughters and the owner and pilot of the plane, Robert Sacks also died in the crash. His two daughters, Medita and Anique, you know, 12 and 10, along with their dad and the pilot died in this plane crash in the Caribbean. It was shortly after takeoff.
Starting point is 00:25:12 They know he's dived into the ocean. Very, very sad. All four bodies have been recovered. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. But they, according to local, they said the pilot radio, the tower shortly after takeoff reporting, he was experiencing trouble and was turning back. And that was the last communication from the plane.
Starting point is 00:25:33 So very sad, Kristen Oliver, and his daughters, along with the pilot, dead. Also, one more. A Brazil soccer legend, Mario Gazagallo, is dead at the age of 92. It doesn't say what he died of. So don't look at me like that. It doesn't say, it just said that they confirmed his death. He was 92.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Mario Gazzilagallo. He was a legend, man. No doubt about it. He was a great hero for Brazil soccer. And soccer in general. He played a role in Brazilian football history. He won the World Cup. I think he won the World Cup four times.
Starting point is 00:26:13 The first person to win the World Cup both as a player and a manager, he won the reached the World Cup final five times, winning four as a player and then a coach with Brazil. Pretty awesome. He got into trouble. He went to the World Cup and came in like fourth place or whatever without Pelae, in Brazil in 74. He also got in trouble
Starting point is 00:26:39 when he was coaching Ronaldo and Ronaldo had convulsions and then they the doctors and then they were, how come you let him play? He had these convulsions. Well, first of all, he's Ronaldo. And second, he was like he was cleared to play by the doctors
Starting point is 00:26:57 so anyone of my position would have done the same thing. I wasn't going to be the one keeping him from playing in the World Cup final. Hello. It's Ronaldo. Ha! So, rest in peace. Brazil soccer legend, Mario Zegallo, dead at the age of 92.
Starting point is 00:27:14 We also have the death of a British Airways flight attendant who died after he collapsed in front of passengers, just as the plane was about to take off. Holy cow. So the 52-year-old crew member just fell over. They were getting ready to go from a long. London to Hong Kong. It was near departure on New Year's Eve. Travelers were in their seats. The doors were locked and he just fell on the floor. So a passenger apparently tried first to give him first aid and to save the man. And the pilot urgently called for medics, but he died at the scene. And I mean, they said despite the evidence of the crew and the patients, he was pronounced dead there on the plane. The flight was delayed until the following day.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Obviously, they got different pilots and a crew in charge. And, you know, the British Airways said our thoughts with our colleagues, family, and friends at this difficult time. Now, I will say this. I'd like to know, no, it wasn't that. Otherwise, they would have admitted it, right? Don't look at me like that. They would have said it. Sure.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Both described, you know, both were just dropped over. and didn't have any underlying health conditions, but it couldn't be that. Otherwise, they would have said something, right? Right. So then there's another guy. Remember, there's another guy, 52 years of age as well,
Starting point is 00:28:44 was found dead in his hotel room on December 23rd. I'm almost, well, it's not Christmas Eve, but close to Christmas. And he was in between flights. Dead. And now, I would be pissed about this. Okay, so the flight, this was here in the U.S., The flight from Newark to London was called off as a result.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Wait, what? Okay, so he died in a hotel room. Why is my flight being canceled? I mean, we can't find another flight attendant to step in and take the flight because I got to get to my destination. I know. I know. I am that way.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Sorry, I know it's a traumatic time. But he didn't die on the plane. get we're going to postpone the flight when the flight attendant dies right there on the plane in front of everyone but this guy died at the hotel i mean we're canceling the flight because of that come on now speaking of flights uh i would not want to have been on the alaska airlines uh flight from uh Portland to Ontario California uh they had to make an emergency landing they went ahead and went back to to Portland because a panel blew out. The pictures were incredible.
Starting point is 00:30:05 It looked like a movie scene. The panel just blew out of the plane. Oh, okay. Now, no one was seriously injured, thankfully. It was about 10 minutes after takeoff, so I'm sure everyone still had their seatbelts on. If ever there was a time to say, you know, please wear your seatbelts, that was it.
Starting point is 00:30:23 And the seats near the blowout were unoccupied. So that's kind of good. the aircraft was still climbing. Yeah, we're going to go ahead and need to turn this thing around. We've got a giant hole on the side of our plane. What went wrong? Well, the investigation is ongoing. We really don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:43 We know that the supplier, spirit aerosystems, manufactured and installed the aircraft's fuselage, but Boeing had a key role in the completion process. So they're saying that it's not, a broader design problem. Don't, don't even. Stop thinking about that. Okay. It's not that at all. Sure. Hey, you know what we're going to do? We're going to go ahead and ground the 171 Max 9. That's the type of Boeing airline that it was. We're going to go ahead and ground those, you know, across the U.S. until we inspect every one of them. I don't know. That only takes, I don't know, just a little bit of time.
Starting point is 00:31:22 At four to eight hours on each plane. But we'd just cancel all the 163 flights. Don't worry about it. United scrubbed 180. Airlines in Mexico, Panama, and Turkey temporarily took most of all their max nines out of service. That's it, though. So don't worry. It's not going to happen again, okay? It's not a broader design problem. Sure, it just blew open a hole in the side of the plane.
Starting point is 00:31:51 That's it. Just quit your whining, okay? Now, apparently, they found a missing door plug that detached from the Alaska Airlines plane was found in a backyard in Oregon. Now, this door plug, I don't know. Was that because, did that cause the plane to split open and have a hole? Or what did that happen after? And that's obviously what the investigation will go ahead and give us. And I'm sure there's no way.
Starting point is 00:32:21 There's no way that they would like. to us about anything like that, right? Right. You know, on our institutions that Americans trust most and least, the airlines were not on this list. I wonder where they would stand. You know, if they're down here, I'm guessing the airlines, oh, look, they have to be trusted, right? I mean, they barely crashed. There was an, you know, barely.
Starting point is 00:32:45 I mean, we've got hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people flying around the globe every day. and your safety and security is of the utmost. Is it, though? Is it? No, I do not work for the FAA. But they're not on the list. So I don't know where they would rank, but I bet it's not at the top.
Starting point is 00:33:25 It's hockey season, and you can get anything you need delivered with Uber Eats. Well, almost, almost anything. So no, you can't get a nice rank on Uber. Oh, I didn't put this in Who Died Today, but Alaska's snow crab season has been canceled for the second year in a row. So I guess it's not completely dead. It's just been canceled for the second year in a row. Of course, because of climate change.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Yeah, of course. Commercial fissures are a little concerned. Yeah, no kidding. The future of the industry is about over. Biologists discovered that 90% of the snow crab population had disappeared, which they connected, of course, to rising temperatures in the Bering Sea, affecting the cold water crustaceans, food supply, and driving them to starvation. So last year's cancellation did little to replenish the population.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Biologists hoped one more year without snow crab fishing will steady Alaska's fisheries, which provides 60% of the country's seafood. Hello. Now, I'm just wondering, this is just me asking a question. I'm wondering if they, you know, really still exist, they're just someplace else. and they didn't really, they just disappeared from where you're looking. And we're going to find out in a couple of years, oh, look, we've got an overflow of crabs.
Starting point is 00:35:10 They're everywhere. They're just showing up because we don't know what happened to them and the earth has repopulated them. Wait for that to happen. I will expect an email at chewing the fat of the blaze.com from all the climate scientists, letting me know that, oh yeah, Jeff, you know what, it wasn't climate change.
Starting point is 00:35:29 They actually just moved out of the way. That's all. You can always email the show Chewing the Fat at theblaze.com. Thank you to Nate who emailed Chewing the Fat at the Blaze.com. This is a brilliant idea. And he sent me the email saying
Starting point is 00:35:43 since you offer so much advice for others and you're welcome by the way, including million dollar ideas. How about this? A T-shirt that says if I'm wearing headphones, just assume I'm listening to Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher.
Starting point is 00:35:58 And he goes on to say, you're welcome, Nate. That is a genius idea. I believe I'm going to try to make that one happen. Thank you. Chewing the fat at the blaze.com. You can also order a cameo from me at any time at Jeffrey JFR and cameo. That's not free, but just, you know, say whether you want me to be happy, glad, sad, mad, or mean. And I'm happy to do it. That's what cameo is there for at Jeffrey JFR.
Starting point is 00:36:21 Wow. They will not let this man alone. Now the Wall Street Journal is saying that. that Musk's Elon Musk, I'm talking about. Elon Musk, they will not let this man go. They just continue to bash him. They do not like him. This administration is just all about bringing down Elon Musk.
Starting point is 00:36:41 His drug use reportedly worries his company's leaders. Do they? According to the Wall Street Journal, execs and board members at SpaceX, Tesla, and other companies run by Elon Musk are concerned about the business impact of Musk's persistent drug use. Are they?
Starting point is 00:37:00 He's reported use of drugs, including ketamine, cocaine, LSD, and ecstasy at parties could imperil SpaceX lucrative contracts with NASA and violate company policies at Tesla. That's a publicly traded company with a fiduciary responsibility to shareholders. Really? Wall Street Journal? Well, Elon's lawyers responded that, yeah, he's never failed the drug test. at SpaceX because after he smoked pot on Joe Rogan's shows
Starting point is 00:37:31 NASA had a big to do and so he just takes random drug tests thanks to NASA to continue with the SpaceX thing. It's just unbelievable that they will, they just continue to find ways to bash this guy because this administration
Starting point is 00:37:47 wants nothing to do with Elon Musk and he ever since he bought Twitter man ever since he bought Twitter and I just, I want that to continue because he's a good hope for us all. I know he's a strange bird. I got it, but he's a good,
Starting point is 00:38:09 it's good for all of us that he owns Twitter. Believe me. I'm sorry. X. And then we have the National Labor Relations Board who is trying to complain that SpaceX illegally fired 8. employees, well, now they're suing the National Labor Relations Board, arguing that the agency
Starting point is 00:38:30 is unconstitutional, so have a nice day. I see where there's not going to be a trial now between Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway and the Haslam family over accounting practices at the pilot truck stop chain. That's not going to happen. And we have opening arguments beginning today in the trial against the National Rifle Association. The National Rifle Association. The trial opens after a long time NRA leader, Wayne LaPierre, resigned Friday, citing health reasons.
Starting point is 00:39:05 Wow. And this is another thing being done by Letitia James, who was going after the NRA and Donald Trump. By the way, the lawsuit alleges that LaPier and others use millions of dollars to fund personal expenses and seeks to bar the defendants from leading New York nonprofits in addition to financial penalties. One defendant agreed to pay $100,000 and testify against his co-defendants as part of the settlement announced Saturday.
Starting point is 00:39:34 So we'll see what happens with the NRA, at least in New York after this. Did you see the guy that jumped into the Bass Pro Shop tank? I mean, holy cow. Now, I guess he's had some mental illness struggles. he's a 42-year-old man. Known, according, all I ever saw was him called Owens. He dove naked into the aquarium at the Baspero Shop in Leeds, Alabama, which I love Leeds, Alabama.
Starting point is 00:40:06 This time of year, especially is beautiful. So it took place shortly after the store closed, or was closing. And he displayed erratic behavior, intentionally drove a vehicle into a pole in the store's parking lot, and then following the crash, he exited the vehicle, disrobed, got naked, and sprinted into the Bass Pro Shop, ultimately leaping into the aquarium. Now, you know, obvious the man's family said he struggled with mental illness. He's expected to face a variety of charges.
Starting point is 00:40:38 Public lewdness, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, second-degree assault, two counts of criminal mischief for hitting the pole and damaging the patrol car, two counts of reckless endangerment for his reckless driving. Now, he's in the tank. and he's screaming, he's completely naked, everybody's making fun of shrinkage and, you know, what little man part that he had and a lot of these videos have it blurred out anyway.
Starting point is 00:41:08 You can make the case that, you know, maybe he doesn't need it blurred out. But I'm not making that case. I'm just saying you could make that case. But he's screaming and hollering and you, okay, you can come and give him. But there's a full video. of it, like a couple minute long video from a customer at the store or someone who
Starting point is 00:41:27 working at the store that shows him dive in and then he tries to climb out of the tank and falls and hits the floor. Holy cow. That hurt and he slammed his head onto the concrete and then the police came and they handcuffed him and he finally kind of comes around and then they just kind of drag him out of the store. Somebody grabs a blanket or a from the camping part of the store and covers him up. He's laying there on the floor. Not well, but his fall out of a tank, man, that had to hurt a lot.
Starting point is 00:42:05 And the two-minute video of that, I'll tweet out later at Jeffrey JFR. Pretty amazing. I mean, at one point, all right, Mom, come and get me, I'm ready. Yeah, I know. But after that, then he goes to climb out. and slides down and hits the side.
Starting point is 00:42:26 That's a long drop man, with all those rocks and concrete around the bottom. I kind of feel sorry for him. And I don't know why I feel sorry for him because he's, you know, just another crazy human being out among us. And many asked the question over the weekend. Remember when we used to put people into psychiatric asylums,
