Starting point is 00:00:00 Blaze Radio Network And now, Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher. So I just had to change my password on one of the platforms that I use, and I was thinking, I wonder if my password is good enough. And then I started looking at what other people use for their passwords. And according to this, last year, the top 25 passwords, I'm pretty sure a hacker would be able to hack them, okay? So, like the top 10 passwords that they claim are the top 10 passwords.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Number 10, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3. Yeah, hackers probably going to figure that one out. Secret, S-E-C-R-E-T. Yeah. A lot of places don't want you do that anymore, though, because they want the 9 or 10 letters and a symbol and the number. So some of these are dated now. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 is the 8th favorite password. I mean, I used to live at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, but it was 82nd Avenue, not 67th.
Starting point is 00:01:08 Everybody, that was the joke of address. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 82nd Avenue. Oh, boy, I bet you wish it was 67th. Yeah, no, I don't, because you'd comment on that as well. Number 7 is a 1-1-1-1-1. six is QWERty 1 5 is QWERTY 1 2 3
Starting point is 00:01:31 4 is just password 3 is 1 2 3 4 5 677 8 Number 2 password is 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 And of course 1 2 3 4 5 6 is number 1 Again I don't think these passwords would fly anymore
Starting point is 00:01:50 Because most platforms make you use at least I think eight or nine letters and then a number and some sort of some sort of exclamation point or hashtag or something in there so these probably are outdated favorite passwords but if you're using any of those you may want to use something else you know just in case welcome welcome to chewing the fat fat five plus It is that time of year again, where we're going to hear Christmas songs and already have actually started to hear Christmas songs everywhere you go. And according to this list, these are the most. annoying Christmas songs. Some of them I kind of disagree with. So the top 10 annoying Christmas
Starting point is 00:02:59 songs. Number 10, do you hear what I hear? Is that annoying? Yeah, kind of. Do you listen to it all the way through? Probably not. Number nine, we're simply having a wonderful Christmas time. I kind of like that. I know I'm in the minority on that song, but I kind of like that song. Number eight, White Christmas. I mean, that's a classic. I don't know that there's several other versions. That's probably the Bing Crosby version, which is, you know, I don't know, a little old and dated. The whole song is, Jeff. Okay, no problem.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Number seven, Happy Christmas War is over. Ugh, I just didn't be on the list. Number six, deck the holes with balls of Holly. Yeah, I mean, I get it. It's part of the rotation. Baby, it's cold outside. Yeah, we went through that hole. debacle a few years ago.
Starting point is 00:03:54 A holly jolly Christmas. Yeah, I mean, that's a classic. You have to listen to that. I don't know that it's annoying. Number three, Feliz Navidad. Feliz Navidad. My wife hates that song so much,
Starting point is 00:04:09 which is the only reason we let it continue to play. The Chipmunt song, yeah. I mean, everyone's tired hearing the Chipmunk song. And then the number one, annoying Christmas song is also like the number one Christmas song of all time. All I want for Christmas is you. Mariah Carey. Come on.
Starting point is 00:04:27 That's a classic. You can't go through Christmas without listening to Mariah Carey. And all I want for Christmas is you. Can you? You can? All right. You say so. I mean, there's so many Christmas songs now. I remember 100 years ago when we first started having Christmas stations and it was all online.
Starting point is 00:04:48 And we would provide a 24-hour a day Christmas songs on if you go to our website and you can log on and listen to Christmas songs all the time now radio stations get to it as early as they can because people want to hear the Christmas songs but there weren't that many so you'd rotate and it seemed like you were playing the same songs over and over again maybe because you were playing the same songs over and over again and now there's so many Christmas songs and so many country classics and so many but I have yet to hear one of my favorite Christmas albums of all time, soul Christmas.
Starting point is 00:05:23 If you have an opportunity to hear Soul Christmas, man, oh man, what a great album. As long as we're talking about Christmas, the famous green and yellow elf costume done by Will Ferrell in the holiday film Elf, sold just recently for $319,000 at an auction just outside of London, alongside a swath of other props from hit movies. prop store, an auction house based in Horfeshire, England, featured the iconic Christmas suit, and it's sold for $319,000 for the elf outfit. Now, I don't know if my man who portrays the elf,
Starting point is 00:06:09 who portrays Buddy the elf, which you can follow on Instagram at the elf live, at the elf live. I mean, he travels the country. as Buddy the elf and he is awesome I don't know that he purchased this outfit for $319,000
Starting point is 00:06:28 I'm guessing the answer to that is no but it's possible he hasn't reached out to me excited about getting the outfit I may have to reach out to my man The Elf Live and see if he actually purchased the iconic outfit now
Starting point is 00:06:45 this costume was that was sold at the auction was specifically worn during a scene where buddy presses every single button in an elevator because he thought it looked like a Christmas tree. So I don't know how many elf outfits there are that were worn in the movie, but this was just one. And that's why it was just $319,000. And as long as we're talking about outfits, I see where Ralph Lauren has launched the Winter Olympics outfits. Now the Winter Olympics are, They're coming up in February of next year, in Italy.
Starting point is 00:07:24 And then they have the Paralympics right after that. I think February 6th through the 22nd, and then in March 6th through the 15th is the Paralympics. And Ralph Loren has outfitted these elite athletes. It doesn't look bad. They don't look too bad. It's the ceremony uniforms. And look, Ralph has designed ceremony outfits for 20 years,
Starting point is 00:07:48 including the Milan Games, The opening ceremony uniforms features a white coat made of wool with heritage-inspired wooden toggles and an iconic American flag knitted out of the sleeves. Athletes walking in the festivities will wear a wool turtleneck sweater and tailored wool trousers. So it'll just look great. It will.
Starting point is 00:08:13 I mean, I enjoy the Winter Olympics and I can't wait to see some of the events. Will I watch the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics? Yeah, you kind of have to, don't you? You do, you have to. So then, you know, he'll have all the outfits for all the entire teams and the opening and closing ceremonies and even just the day-to-day wear at the Olympics for the Team USA designed precisely and beautifully by Ralph Lauren. Well, we had the Golden Globe nominations given to us yesterday. If you're listening live, today is the 9th of December 2020.
Starting point is 00:09:18 So on the 8th, we got the nominations. It's, according to the Golden Globes, they are often referred to as Hollywood's Party of the Year. Are they? Okay. It's the largest award show in the world to celebrate the best film, television, and now podcasting. Aw, that's great.
Starting point is 00:09:37 So hopefully chewing the fat, even maybe just the regular chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher, or chewing the fat 5 plus is, you know, being nominated for a Golden Globe. Watcher face. Nicky Glazier is going to host it again a second year in a row. So, okay, I guess that's because Dick Clark Productions are going to, you know, they host and produce the annual Golden Globes. This is the 83rd annual Golden Globes.
Starting point is 00:10:03 And then it's going to be broadcast on CBS and Paramount Plus. Happens January 11th. That's a Sunday, 8 p.m. Eastern. I'm sure Paramount Plus will have some streaming pre, you know, everybody's walking up to go into the Golden Globes. Let's watch them walk the carpet. Now, they have, what's kind of strange about the Golden Globes is, you know, they have the best performance by a female actor in a motion picture and musical or comedy,
Starting point is 00:10:31 along with best performance by male actor in a motion picture, musical or comedy. But they also have the best performance by a male and female actor in a motion picture drama. So, I mean, they have 28 categories. categories to go through. And I was looking through a lot of them. I, boy, some of them I just don't know. I have the music and the best television series. Let's see the best television series drama.
Starting point is 00:10:57 The Diplomat, very good. Season three was really good on Netflix. If you haven't seen it, see it. The Pit, HBO Max, fantastic show. Really enjoyed the heck out of the pit. Pluribus on Apple TV. I haven't made it all the way through that yet. it was okay. What I've watched on Pluribus is okay. Severance on Apple TV haven't made it all the way through.
Starting point is 00:11:22 It was just okay, which is why I haven't made it all the way through. Slow horses, Apple TV. All three of these Apple TV shows, Pluribus, Severance, and Slow Horses. The world went crazy over them. I didn't think they were that great. I started watching them and then they lost me. So I'll get back to them at some point, but I just, I don't know, not yet. And then the White Lotus on HBO Max was also a nominated for Best Television Series. In fact, White Lotus led with six dominations this year. So they'll win something. Should they win that?
Starting point is 00:12:00 I don't think so. One battle or another nominated for nine nominations, including Best Motion Picture, comedy or musical. And that's, of course, with Leonardo DiCaprio, who is up for best performance by a male actor and a motion picture or musical comedy. And he's up against Timothy Charlemais for Marty Supreme, George Clooney, Jay Kelly,
Starting point is 00:12:25 Ethan Hawk, Blue Moon, Li Bunghung, no other choice, Jesse Plemons, Bugonia, and of course, Leo for one battle after another. He may very well win that, although Timothy Charlemais is, you know, we love Tim and he can do no wrong. The best performance by a female actor in a motion picture, musical or comedy.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Rose Byrne, if I had legs, I'd kick you. Cynthia Erivo, Wicked for Good. Kate Hudson, Song Sung Blue. Chase Infinity, one battle after another. Okay, there's another one. Amanda Seafreed, the Testament of Anne Lee, and Emma Stone, Bougonia. You know, I would guess that they're probably going to give it to Cynthia, which is agonizing, but good for her, I guess. And then you start going through all the other nominees.
Starting point is 00:13:13 which is, let's see, Best Television Series, musical or comedy. Abbott Elementary, ABC, and The Bear, Bear was really good, loved it. Hacks, HBO, Max, really liked hacks. Nobody watched this on Netflix, only murders in the building. Yep, really like that. The studio, Apple TV. There's another one. It must be Apple TV.
Starting point is 00:13:36 I started watching the studio, and it just wasn't as good as they all said it was going to be. All these shows on Apple TV, I've got to, go back and finish watching them so that I can actually, you know, make a full informed decision on, well, that really wasn't that good. Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television. She's okay. Adolescence on Netflix. Yeah, that was okay.
Starting point is 00:14:02 You know, it was pretty good. All her fault on Peacock, The Beast in Me, Netflix, Black Mirror, Netflix, Dying for Sex, FX on Hulu, and the girlfriend on Prime Video. Yeah, adolescents will probably win. Everybody loves that. The best performance by a female actor in a television series drama. Kathy Bates, Maitlock, or Matlock.
Starting point is 00:14:27 Yeah, they love Kathy. Britt Lower, Severance. Ellen Moran, Mobland. Mobland was great. Really enjoyed the heck out of Mobland. And she was great in it. And whacked out of her mind. Bella Ramsey, the last of us.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Okay, calm down. Carrie Russell, the diplomat She was great in the diplomat I really enjoyed the last The Season 3. I liked all three seasons of the diplomat as a matter of fact And Ria Seahorn, Pluribus Yeah, okay, we got you
Starting point is 00:14:55 Best performance by a male actor In a television series or drama Sterling K. Brown, Paradise, Diego Luna, Andor, Gary Oldman, slow horses, Mark Ruffalo Task, oh my gosh, Adam Scott, Severance, Noah Wiley, the Pit,
Starting point is 00:15:09 they better give it to Noah. The Pit was awesome. really good. That should win. I should also win the best series as well. Best performance by a female actor in a television series musical or comedy. Okay. Jeez. Kristen Bell, nobody wants this. Oh, yo, Derby, the bear, yeah. He was great. Or she was great. Sorry, this is the female. Selena Gomez, only murders in the building. Yeah. Natasha Leon, poker face. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:36 Jenna Ortega, Wednesday. Yeah. Gene Smart and Hacks. She was great in it. Wow. That's a tough one. I'm not sure who to go to. Probably A-O-A-O-A-O-A-E-E-E-B-I-R-A. So however you pronounce her name from the bear. Apparently, she pronounces it I-O-D-Ebri. Okay, you pronounce your name any darn way you want. And then it goes on and out. I mean, there's 28 categories. Best podcast. Let's see if chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher or Pat Gray on Leash to the show that I'm on every day, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Central was nominated for best podcast. Let's see here.
Starting point is 00:16:24 The armchair expert with Dak Shepard. Call her Daddy. Good Hang with Amy Poehler. The Mel Robbins podcast. Smartless. Up first with NPR. And no chewing. the fat with Jeff Fisher or chewing the fat fat fat five plus with Jeff Fisher and no pack gray unleashed well that's very disappointing although is it disappointing do you want to be nominated with uh you know a good hang with Amy polar okay sure you know it'd be nice it'd be nice uh arm tear tear expert with Dax Shepard you call her daddy okay Mel Robbins I like Mel Robbins uh I like a lot of her stuff um I'm really surprised uh a couple of podcasts in here didn't get nominated.
Starting point is 00:17:14 I wonder why. You know, like the number one podcast in the world, Joe Rogan, not part of the best podcast nominations for the Golden Globes. Interesting, isn't it? Oh, and then starting this Friday on Disney Plus, the end of an era, a six-episode docu-series on Taylor Swift's record-breaking concert tour. huh how excited are you for that and i think if i'm not mistaken uh that they dropped the first two episodes of that on friday wow that will be great won't it you don't have to answer that
Starting point is 00:17:55 oh shoot gosh darn it i meant to be able to vote we talked about uh a while ago how ticot had said they were going to create their own award show and you they have they're going we're going to have the TikTok Award show on the 18th of this month, December 2025. However, if you didn't know, and I apologize for not telling you this because now it's over, but between November 18th and December 5th, just a couple of days ago, you were able to vote in the app. and now it's over. So they're going to have the awards on December 18th. So congratulations to all the award winners when we see who they are on the TikTok awards
Starting point is 00:18:51 that happen on December 18th. Now, not only is it going to be on TikTok, but they're going to have a live celebration at the Palladium. sorry, the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. The show is going to be presented under the theme New Era, New Icons. And they're going to have a live audience and all the creators and red carpet and live performances. So it's going to air on TikTok and the official streaming partner, Tubey, and will also be available on demand the next day on Tubey.
Starting point is 00:19:28 So, man, that is something to look forward to, isn't it? Again, though, you don't have to answer that. Oh man. I see where a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck off northern Japan. A couple days or ago. Late Monday, injuring 23 people and triggering a tsunami in the Pacific Coast communities. Wow. Authorities warned of possible aftershocks and an increased risk of a mega shock. So they're still assessing damages from the tsunami and late evening quake, struck about 11.15 p.m. in the Pacific Ocean, around 50 miles off the coast of the northernmost perfecture of Japan's main Hunishore. Island. According to Nobu Yamada, I've never experienced such a big shaking. He owns a convenience
Starting point is 00:20:43 store there. And he added that luckily power lines were still operating in the area. So they were built for it and everything is fine. So a few people were injured and there was, it doesn't say how big the tsunami was. I feel like the tsunami was not that large like a tsunami is coming and then you know a little wave rolls up into shore we've seen that happen before but it injured 23 people so were they standing there on the beach and got hit by a you know medium-sized big wave uh doesn't say oh here we go a tsunami of up to 70 centimeters two feet four inches yeah okay so that's a that's a you know a medium-sized wave. Okay, so there you go. That's why they were standing there and the two foot wave,
Starting point is 00:21:41 two foot four inches, 70 centimeters, washed ashore, which knocked a few people down. And they got a little bruisey on their butt. And then everything is fine. So, you know, I'm glad that no one was harmed other than, you know, minor injuries from the tsunami that happened late Monday off the coast of Japan. So BlazTV.com slash Jeffie, get you $20 off an annual subscription right now. Okay, so Mark Sanchez, you know him, you love him. He got into a lot of trouble not long ago since he had that altercation with him and the 69-year-old truck driver in Indianapolis, Mark Sanchez, former NFL quarterback. And the truck driver stabbed him with critical stab wounds. This happened back in October.
Starting point is 00:24:25 And Sanchez has since been charged with a felony for his role in the altercation and awaits trial. So, and he's been, they gave him the boot at Fox. Have a nice day. Sorry about it. But he did post some pictures of the wife and kids and saying that this time of a year always makes me look around and appreciate what matters. But this one hits different.
Starting point is 00:24:50 I'm just grateful to wake up, to be home and be able to wrap my arms around my wife and kids. Thank you to the people who kept me standing and gave my family opportunities to share moments like these from our. family to yours. We wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season. Oh, that's so nice, Mark. We really appreciate it. Now, I don't know what he's going to do for work. He said that after they gave him the boot at Fox, he said the situation was understandably disappointing, but their focus remains on his health and recovery. Yeah, I bet it does. So we'll see what happens with
Starting point is 00:25:26 the court case. I mean, he has multiple criminal charges that the victim also filed a lawsuit against the former broadcaster, Mark Sanchez, then the former employer, which was Fox, and the restaurant, St. Elmo Steakhouse, which the suit alleges overserved Sanchez, leading to his aggressive behavior. Okay, calm down. I know you got, he attacked you and you had to stab Sanchez and you got hurt really bad because he slammed you into the dumpster out back, but we're just suing everybody for everything. Okay, good luck. I can't wait for the trial. I would imagine he's hoping just for a settlement and then make it go all away. And by he, I mean all of them. I mean Sanchez, the restaurant, Fox, and the guy that Sanchez attacked. They
Starting point is 00:26:17 wanted all to go away. Just settle with them, give them a bunch of money, and we can move on with our lives, okay? So I'm sure that's probably what everyone is working on. Okay, who died today? Who died today? Well, apparently Michael Virgil, 33, is dead. Rest in peace to Michael Virgil. He died on a Royal Caribbean cruise after, I mean, this is what's being reported. He was served 33 drinks. The family accuses the staff of injecting him with a sedative. Wait, what? Yeah. Michael was seen having a meltdown after getting off the elevator on the wrong floor. Now, I watched the video of him freaking out in the hallway, and he was a big man.
Starting point is 00:27:07 And the family says it was just hours after leaving port. Virgil was served excessive amounts of alcohol. When he went to look for his room, he got agitated when he couldn't find it and started chasing people. Crew members eventually had to intervene. Now, they intervened. Now, he was trying to kick a door down as one of the words. workers went into a closet to hide from him because he was losing his mind. So I feel like there was something else going on with Michael other than 33 drinks,
Starting point is 00:27:36 but I certainly have no, I have no idea if that's true or not. It just appeared that way. So after the crew members eventually intervened, they used pepper spray and a sedative called Halopiridol at the request of the ship's captain. he then suffered from a cardopulmonary arrest and so that he died holy cow so you know i know that we've gone down a list multiple times of serious injuries and fatalities on cruise ships but i'd seen this before and i didn't uh i don't know the ship's captain's in charge out there on the ocean so no problem use some pepper spray we need to get him handcuffed or zip tied and we need to get him
Starting point is 00:28:22 some haloperidol to calm his ass down and then oh man sorry he had a heart attack and he died so we'll see I don't know what's going to come of this story I will try to follow it because I'm fascinated by if we have an
Starting point is 00:28:38 autopsy or not and what else was in Michael's system because I don't know that the haloperidol would have caused that but I'm not a medical physician so you know I don't know but rest in peace
Starting point is 00:28:54 to Michael Virgil dead at the age of 35. And to go along with our joke of the day today I wanted to tell you that the original Star Wars, later titled Star Wars episode IV, A New Hope,
Starting point is 00:29:10 is now going to be shown in theaters in February of 2027, so you've got a couple years yet, because that date marks the film's 50th anniversary from its original release in 1977. So you've got a little bit of time, but you can look forward to it. It's the original theatrical cut. It's going to feature a newly restored version of the original
Starting point is 00:29:33 theatrical cut, which has not been widely available since 2006. And this version is significant as it will not include the alterations made in the special editions that have dominated the market for decades. So you get the original and you don't get Dingleberry's special edition. alter alterations altercations alterations whatever they were they were terrible so then that leads us into the the joke of the day sent to that to the show from denny if anna is short for anachan and obi is short for obiwan what is luke short for i don't know what is luke short for A stormtrooper. I know.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Sad. But hey, may the force be with you. Ugh. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at theblaze.com slash podcasts.
