Starting point is 00:00:00 It's hockey season, and you can get anything you need delivered with Uber Eats. Well, almost, almost anything. So no, you can't get a nice rink on Uber Eats. But iced tea, ice cream, or just plain old ice? Yes, we deliver those. Goaltenders, no. But chicken tenders, yes. Because those are groceries, and we deliver those too.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Along with your favorite restaurant food, alcohol, and other everyday essentials. Order Uber Eats now. For alcohol, you must be legal drinking age. Please enjoy responsibly. Product availability varies by region. See app for details. Blaze Radio Network. And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Combating crime has unintended consequences. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, car break-ins in the city have plunged from 28,500 in 2017, wow, to 8,500 last year. And they acclaimed that that's thanks to focused police crackdown, not because citizens have left and people park their cars where it can't be robbed. It's police crack down. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:06 But it's created a new kind of victim. The auto glass shops that serviced cars with glass shattered by thieves. Oh no. Oh, no. As many in the city are rejoicing at the smash-and-grab break-ins being at a two-decade-decade low garage owners and their staff. They lamented to the newspaper that their phones are. aren't ringing like they used to, with one manager saying, we used to get 80 calls a day,
Starting point is 00:01:34 now we get only around 20. Though they stressed, they weren't hoping for more criminal activity. Uh-huh. Those in the Autoglass Bills noted that they've had to take some measures like shorter hours and have considered layoffs as their customer count dwindles. Yeah, unintended consequences while we combat crime. We didn't think about the Autoglass industry. or the auto glass replacement industry.
Starting point is 00:02:02 So I know, I know. While we're not wishing for more smash and grabs from automobiles, we kind of are. Welcome. Welcome to chewing the fat. We are, and I didn't realize this, we are in the marathon season, smack dab in marathon running season.
Starting point is 00:02:29 So today, the Boston Marathon kicked off, It's already kicked off. I mean, we had the military marchers and the wheelchair division. And the wheel, oh, they have the wheelchair division in men and women. Huh, because they know the difference. Then they have the professional men and the professional women. Again, we know the difference. We have the para athletics division.
Starting point is 00:02:50 And that's been going on in Boston. And so we have the men's open record was a guy from Kenya. The women's open was a chick. was a lady from Ethiopia. The men's wheelchair was from Switzerland, and the woman's wheelchair is from Switzerland. So Switzerland either makes really good wheelchairs or they make really good wheelchair marathon rollers
Starting point is 00:03:17 because they're not runners. But whatever, I digress. So we've got that going on. We have the London Marathon happening later this week, I believe, our next weekend. And then we had this big marathon in Beijing, China. I don't think there's another Beijing on the planet,
Starting point is 00:03:36 but it's possible there is. So Beijing, China, this past weekend. Now, in this particular marathon, they had robots that were running in the race as well. Some of the footage from that is incredible. I look like they are not ready to run. I don't know that I want to see all these robots marching toward me at, you know, three miles an hour
Starting point is 00:03:59 or less. but I don't think they are ready to run. Although the ones in the race, maybe they're not the ones that are being created because there's plenty of robots, which we've documented on this show, that look like they should be able to run fairly well. So the winning robot finished in two hours and 40 minutes,
Starting point is 00:04:20 the men's race victor crossed the finish line in one hour and two minutes. So they were a lot slower. And there were plenty of, I don't know, weird-looking robots. It was almost like battlebots. it looked like. Remember the stupid show Battlebots? Where they My friend Mark Biro
Starting point is 00:04:38 was the emcee of Battlebots. That's what some of those robots look like in the Beijing Marathon. But here's the thing. They were racing robots. So I know that we have all these companies working on robots. All these giant companies
Starting point is 00:04:54 are investing in robots. And Elon has predicted that his Optimus robot, he's ready to have, you know, thousands of them produced and out in the open right now. So, I mean, within this year. So are they going to be running all our races for us or against us or with us? You know, who knows? But it's definitely happening.
Starting point is 00:05:18 And especially since we are smack dab at the middle of, well, marathon season. I mean, it was a busy weekend this weekend, right? I mean, it was Easter weekend. Started off with, you know, Good Friday on end of Easter weekend. And then I guess today, if you're listing live, the 21st of April, 2025, is considered Easter Monday, because that's when they're saying that the Pope died. And I'll get to him and who died today. We'll talk a little bit more about Pope Francis, but yes, he died on Easter Monday, they say.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Okay. So Easter also fell on 420, which we spoke about. And so we had to party, right? I mean, 420, that's the day that we can all just get high all day long. nobody cares. Well, they had this huge gathering in New York, and I'm sure they had plenty of gatherings around the country. This is just one of them that I saw documented.
Starting point is 00:06:09 And they, in this, in Washington Square Park, and all these people are standing around with giant jugs and pot, just getting high. I did not see any small bongs like the one we have here at the CTF Studios. No, it says that people were rolling joints and passing out of ambulance and lighting up bongs, but if that's a bong man, when you've got, you know, your head covered with a water bottle with the bottom cutout, and then your hose is hooked up to a bowl. That's a good buzz man, because it just comes right into your head.
Starting point is 00:06:57 You've got it covered in the whole thing, and it's really just a party, and that's the way we celebrate, you know, 420. but it claims that there were people lighting bongs and rolling joints and passing them around for the celebration of 420. Okay, if you say so, then they, like us here at the CTF studios, have their single hit bongs. So that was yesterday, because today is National Tea Day.
Starting point is 00:07:39 And so can we smoke that? that just for drinking because the National Tea Day's slogan is brew more do more so yeah go ahead and celebrate National Tea Day don't smoke it though drink it okay with Amex platinum $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug but your taste buds too that's the powerful backing of Amex conditions apply Be sure to follow me on my social media at Jeffey JFR on X. You need to be a subscriber, okay? while being a subscriber to chewing the fat, I know it's free, but nobody likes a free loader. So go ahead and subscribe. I don't know, you know, pick a platform that you like
Starting point is 00:09:34 and subscribe, please, to chewing the fat. Don't be a free loader. Nobody likes a free loader. Everybody likes free stuff, right? Right. You know, are you a yo-yo dieter? You diet, you lose weight, you gain it back, plus a few extra pounds,
Starting point is 00:09:49 then later you lose it again and you regain it again and again and again This is the back and forth battle, which is why they call it a yo-yo diet. It's dangerous. Studies show that that can increase your risk of a heart attack, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and other health problems. So breaking free of your yo-yo diet pattern is a main reason that doctors created lean. Lean is a supplement. It's not an injection.
Starting point is 00:10:17 You don't need a prescription, which I love. The science behind the lean is impressive. It's studied natural ingredients targeted, weight loss, and three powerful ways. Lean helps maintain healthy blood sugar. It helps control appetite and cravings, and it helps burn fat by converting fat into energy. I just started trying Lean. It has seen that it has enhanced my opportunity to not eat. It has seemed to curb my appetite some, which I'm a fan of.
Starting point is 00:10:52 That's exactly what it's supposed to do. So if you're tired of losing weight and gaining it back, if you want to lose meaningful weight at a healthy pace, lean was created for you. Let's get you started with 20% off when you enter Jeffy 20, J-E-F-F-F-Y-20, at takelean.com. Takelean.com. Use the offer code Jeffie 20, get that 20% off.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Code Jeffie 20, take lean. Takeleen.com. Takelein.com. So I see this headline with James Brolin, who's 85 now. Wow, he does not look 85. But anyway,
Starting point is 00:11:34 he's married to Barbara Streisand, and they've been married for like 30 years. And the headline is James Brolin says the best investment he made in marriage to Barbara Streisand
Starting point is 00:11:46 is buying a hooker that doesn't talk. No, that's not the headline. The headline is the best the best investment he made in marriage to borrow a story said is his mattress. Shut up. Okay. We got it.
Starting point is 00:12:02 He talks about how they're both lazy and we like to lay in bed and we do a lot of work on the phone and reading and we can just lay there in our bed. So the best thing we bought was a mattress. Okay. All right. Thank you, James. Appreciate it. I mean, they've been married for 30 years now.
Starting point is 00:12:18 And he said you've got to learn how to take a walk. I'm sure he's had to do that a lot because Barbara probably gets out of a rampage and he's like, I got to go make a movie or something because I can't be here. You got to take a walk. He's in the new Netflix show, Ransom Canyon, which I have not watched yet.
Starting point is 00:12:41 I see that it dropped. I saw it on my, what's new on my Netflix account. But I don't know that I'll have to watch it now that I know that James is. is, you know, talk telling me the secret to a happy marriage is a good mattress, which I don't disagree with. It just sounded funny coming from him.
Starting point is 00:13:01 Ransom Canyon where love, loss, and loyalty collide beneath the crimson maces of Texas Hill Country. With three ranching families, dynasties locked into a contest for control of their land, their lives and legacies are threatened by outside forces intent on destroying their way of life. At the center of it all is Stoic rancher Staten, Kirkland. That's not James. Who is Healing from Heartbreaking Loss on a Quest for Vengeance. So it's about a book series of Western Romance novels by Jody Thomas. So we'll see if it's any good.
Starting point is 00:13:35 It sounds a lot like, I don't know, Dallas 101 on Netflix. And everybody wants to get a little bit of the ranching movies in. So why not try to sell it with a little soap operaish going on? That's almost the territory from Australia that's on Netflix, too. almost the territory, so we'll see if it's similar to that. Speaking of shows, I got an email last week, Chewing the Fat at the Blaze.com, and it told me, hey, this is what the emails told me. I didn't read it or I didn't look at it.
Starting point is 00:14:09 The email itself told me. Said that, hey, I watched episodes of your friends and neighbors on Apple TV. I hope to hear your thoughts if you watch. watch it too. And yes, I watched it this weekend and it was really good. It was really fun. A lot of fun. I've only three episodes are up now. I missed the first week. It drops one a week, which is very agonizing to me. I just can't take it. But the last week it dropped the first two episodes and now it's going to drop an episode a week until the end of May. And so I'll try to catch it every week because I'm pretty hooked. I've watched three episodes and I want to see the outcome. Although, I can already see
Starting point is 00:14:54 kind of where it's headed, and I don't know that they need nine episodes for that. I would say that maybe, you know, six may have done it, but so we've milked an extra three episodes out of your friends and neighbors. So we'll see if it's worth it. But well, the first three episodes were well worth the watch. So yes, Susan, who emailed me chewing the fat at the blaze.com, I did watch it and I really enjoyed it. I also noticed that in her email, Susan, I'm sorry, I'm just assuming that
Starting point is 00:15:27 it's a female, Susan said in the email that can you spot Corbyn Burson? Well, yes, of course I could spot Corbyn Berson. But wow, I did not realize you. We just talked about James Brolin being 85. Corbyn
Starting point is 00:15:43 is 70 now and I don't know. He doesn't, he looks fine, whatever. Just that Susan said, wow, L.A. L.A. L.A. L. was a long time ago. Yes, it was. It was a long time ago. But I'm familiar with him. I was forced to watch a show called The Resident, which was just agonizing. But there are humans in my house that watch The Resident, and so I was forced to watch some of that show. And he was in that. He was one of the doctors' dads or whatever. So he was part of that stupid show. And so I'm familiar.
Starting point is 00:16:19 with what he's looking like these days. But your friends and neighbors, really good. John Hamm, he plays a guy that gets fired, and he plays a big-time investment guy that gets fired and he turns to crime. And then we go inside this rich world
Starting point is 00:16:36 that he lives in. And it's not, they aren't rich, they're just lucky. And to many people with the way they live is that they're rich, but they're living on the edge as far as being.
Starting point is 00:16:49 you know, having money and, you know, everything is fine. He talks about first house, second house, third house, fourth house making it, and it's a different kind of broke while you're, now you're leveraged. And anyway, it's just that he has to turn to crime. And we've gone three episodes now, and he's in the thick of it for sure right now.
Starting point is 00:17:11 And it's going to be interesting to see him turn it around if he ever does. All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cool to drink desperately. So Minecraft knocked off number one at the theaters. It is not number one as number two coming off this weekend as far as movies go. Sinners. Sinners was number one, $45.6 million domestic opening, $61 million global debut on Ryan Cougar's vampire thriller. A cinema score for a horror film.
Starting point is 00:17:52 pretty impressive we'll see we'll see how it works out for them it was 90 million plus I think global marketing expenses so it's got a little time to
Starting point is 00:18:07 make up that money I'm sure they will you know they have Minecraft which is at 720.20 million global so it's pretty close to breaking a billion and this is what week three so it definitely will
Starting point is 00:18:21 King of Kings was number three the amateur number four and they were whining about the amateur too week two it's got 64 million global and it's got a 60 million budget so it's already over made more than the budget globally
Starting point is 00:18:39 I don't know what they what they expected from the amateur obviously they expected more than what is doing but I'm really to wait until it gets to streaming to see it, it looks good, not going to the theater to see it, that's what they're whining about especially the director. Ah, people don't go to the theaters like that.
Starting point is 00:18:56 Okay. Yeah, put it on, send it to me. Let me watch that home then, dude. Warfare, number five, drop, number six. And I think you can watch the amateur at home right now as well, which is weird because it's only been out a couple of weeks, but I think you can't. Colorful Stage, the movie of Miku who can't sing.
Starting point is 00:19:16 That sounds great. Domestic opening Sega mobile game adaptation performs well and limited release. Okay, Sega adaptation performs well and it's Sega. Pride and Prejudiced, re-released, 2.7 million. The Chosen Last Supper, part three,
Starting point is 00:19:39 got another million point seven. That's pretty crazy. So you got King of Kings and the Chosen in the top 10. Incredible. Snow white. Snow white still hanging in there in the top 10. I thought for sure they'd be gone.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Last week I thought that's their last week in the top 10. Nope. They're number 10, week 5 with 1.2 million domestic. So they've got 84.6 million domestic. Oh, that thing costs $250 million. Oh, man. You want to talk about an albatross for the third.
Starting point is 00:20:18 theaters. Anyway, I was talking about sinners as being number one. And I saw a story from, which I thought was a reasonable headline, actually, which is kind of what I hinted at, is that it advanced 61 million as global debut. It's a great result for an original R-rated horror film. Yet the Warner Brothers release has a $90 million price tag before global marketing expenses. So profitability remains a ways away. Okay, well, that seems like a fair headline. Stiller was not happy with that headline. And he was like, in what universe does a $60 million opening for an original studio movie warrant this headline?
Starting point is 00:20:57 I feel like it was a fair headline, Ben. But maybe not. Maybe you thought they deserved more promotion than that. You know, I know that Nick Searcy had replied to that saying, uh, in the one party universe that you and the rest of Hollywood built, dude. Yeah, uh, no doubt about that. You know, that's the one-party universe that you and the rest of Hollywood built, dude. thing. All right. They, the deal that Coogler made with the studios, I think has everyone upset.
Starting point is 00:21:28 They don't want to give it credit because he gets paid right from the beginning, not after profitability. And after so many years that he gets the rights back to the movie. And that, those kind of deals are usually for, you know, Spielbergs. And he made that deal off, you know, from the jump. So I think that's got every. everybody concerned that that's the death of the studios then if we have to do that well i don't think so but okay so let's say it is the death of the studios will that be the death of movies i don't think so and i remember reading how they were the head of warner brothers were the two the two heads of warner brothers guys what was their stupid names again one's a one's a male and one's a female apparently
Starting point is 00:22:12 they know what a woman is at warner brothers uh they are happy now because i mean they've got two two people in the, uh, uh, in the, they've got two movies, uh, over 40 million. Uh, yeah, that's pretty good. Uh, yeah, that's pretty good. What was their stupid names, uh,
Starting point is 00:22:30 the head of Warner Brothers? And I apologize to the heads of Warner Brothers because I know you're not the stupid names. Pamela Abdi and Michael Deluca. Yeah. They're the head of Warner Brothers and, uh, the Warner Brothers film. And they were taking a hit the last month or so. Like, it's time for them to go. they don't have winning movies, nothing,
Starting point is 00:22:49 and now the boat has turned around. So they are breathing a little bit easier, I bet. Another couple of shows that I'm going to, I'm watching Mobland, really like Mobland a lot on Paramount Plus. Then they have the, I haven't got to the last of us yet. I think we've got a couple episodes of the latest Last of Us, season two, which dropped, which I'm looking forward to seeing. I've got to get back to Daredevil,
Starting point is 00:23:13 which I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of them. I think I've watched first one or two episodes of Daredevil. And so I'm looking forward to that. Those are a couple, you know, a few shows that I'm on. I was reading a story about Bella Ramsey, who's in The Last of Us, and who was in, you know, Game of Thrones. My wife started watching Game of Thrones again, so I'm getting back into Game of Thrones again a little bit. I see every so often she's got it back on again. Really good, though.
Starting point is 00:23:42 My gosh, it still holds up really good. but Bella played that Leanna Mormont in the Game of Thrones. Anyway, now she's doing The Last of Us. I was reading an article about they were never a teenager and jumped straight, jumped straight
Starting point is 00:23:57 from kid to adult. Okay. Thanks, Bella. And I know that she identifies as, you know, they, them, those are her pronouns. It's agonizing to read because it talks about how they were never a teenager. and it talked about how they rose to fame,
Starting point is 00:24:16 and it's just tough to get through an article when they start using the they-them pronouns. It's just, oh, it's just agonizing. So I was reading about her and how she talks about identifying us, not binary, and she stated that the they-them pronouns are the most truthful thing for me. They are indifferent to which pronouns are used for them. regarding their sexuality. Ramsey said that they are not 100% straight.
Starting point is 00:24:48 I'm a little bit wavy. And then she talked about, you know, how she's a self-described vegan-ish. Apparently she was vegan. Her parents raised her as pescatarian. I guess that's where you only eat fish. But there's a few, you know, I love how it talks about,
Starting point is 00:25:08 there's a dietary practice in which seafood is the only source of meat in an otherwise vegetarian diet. The inclusion of other animal products such as eggs and dairy is optional. Yeah, the inclusion of everything else is optional. But you can still consider yourself a pescatarianism.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Okay, we got it. Thanks, Bella. We appreciate how they do their work. It just drives me insane. This episode is brought to you by Peloton. A new era of fitness is here. And, you know, I want to talk about where we're at right now because conservatives seem to be winning. I know sometimes it doesn't feel that way, but they certainly feel like we're winning now.
Starting point is 00:26:42 And the movement is gaining ground. People are waking up. And the momentum is finally shifting. But the fight is not over, not even close. And that's why Blaze TV exists. because the world is full of noise. We need a stronghold for bold voices, free thinkers, and fearless commentary that helps make sense of the chaos.
Starting point is 00:27:02 And that's one of the things that I love about doing this show is I'm able to pretty much say what I want because of Blaze TV. Starting point is 00:28:53 Who died today? Who died today? Now, there's several people on the list, but I mean, we have to start with Pope Francis. Pope Francis passed away today. The 21st of April, 2025, which, according to the Vatican, is Easter Monday, dead at the age of 88 at his residence in the Vatican at the Vatican. So when I saw the Pope last night about it, actually I was watching a video before I passed out last night where J.D. Vance, our vice president, was meeting with the Pope yesterday. And in the video, I'm thinking, wow, he does not look good. Everybody was saying that he looked good, but I didn't think he looked well at all. He didn't have the oxygen on, but he couldn't lift his arms. When they were shaking hands with J.D. and others, he couldn't lift his arms. when he made the ride in the Pote Mobile through St. Peter's Square, he did not wave.
Starting point is 00:29:56 He did raise his, you could see a couple times where he kind of raised his hand a little bit, but he did not lift his arms at all to wave to the crowd. And I will say, driving through St. Peter Square, not quite sure that, I mean, that thing was moving. The Pote Mobile was moving a little bit too fast for my liking, but they just wanted to feel like they were like, okay we're going to make a drive through St. Peter Square and we're going to get him through it and get him back into the room with the oxygen. It was just a quick ride.
Starting point is 00:30:26 It seemed like he was traveling pretty fast. That was just my observation. But it was announced at 735, well, it was announced at 935 that he passed away at 735. Now the Vatican is about seven hours ahead of my time zone here in DFW.
Starting point is 00:30:44 And so about that time, I was looking at the video of J.D. Vance and the Pope thinking he does not look well, that's about the time that he passed away. So rest in peace to Pope Francis dead at the age of 88. And originally back in, I don't know, whenever Pope Francis became Pope, I think in 2005 is when he became Pope, right, he was Pope.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Yeah, see, Pope, this Pope began 2013. Yeah, so, no, not when he became Pope. when Pope Benedict became Pope back in 2005, that's the Pope ship that I ran for. I was running for Pope when Pope Benedict became Pope. And at that time, anyone could become Pope, anyone. Those were the rules. And so I ran for Pope.
Starting point is 00:31:36 And then I've changed those rules since I ran. I believe that I forced them to change the rules. So anyway, Pope Francis, became Pope in 2013 when they ran off Pope Benedict. He didn't die.
Starting point is 00:31:53 Benedict didn't lie. He hung in there for quite some time. But they ran him off and put Pope Francis into the into the Pope ship. So I can't run now
Starting point is 00:32:04 although I want to. I believe I'd make a good Pope blow the white smoke for me. I'm ready to go. Pope Fatimus well my original name was Pope Obesius Fatimus
Starting point is 00:32:16 first. People online have been calling it Pope Obesius Fatimus Maximus, which I'm okay with. You know, it's fine, whatever. That's not the name that I would have chosen. I was going to chose Pope Obesius Fatimus the first. But I'm good with Obesius Fatimus Maximus. I'm fine with that. That's fine. Anyway, rest in peace to Pope Francis who passed away today, this very day at the age of 88. I noticed I went to, earlier this morning, I went to the Wikipedia page
Starting point is 00:32:50 to see if they were updating all this stuff. And according to Wikipedia, this article is currently being heavily edited because its subject has recently died. Information about their death and related events may change significantly and initial news reports
Starting point is 00:33:04 may be unreliable. The most recent updates to this article may not reflect the most current information. Please feel free to improve this article. But edits without reliable reference, may be removed or discuss changes on the talk page. Yeah, so it's being updated, heavily edited on the Wikipedia page about Pope Francis and his life
Starting point is 00:33:24 and times as a Pope. So the conclave, if I remember right, the conclave will probably be in another week or two. It takes a while to gather the other cardinals from around the world. And they all come in. And that's when they have the big conclave. and we find out who the new pope will be. And he's got to lie in state for a few days,
Starting point is 00:33:49 and all the world leaders have to pay their respects, and then we have the pope's funeral. So it's at least, I don't know, a week and a half, something like that, before they even come together to get the conclave together to pick a new pope. So right now we're popeless. So rest in peace to Pope Francis,
Starting point is 00:34:10 dead at the age of 88. All right, let's continue on with who died today. We have Jennifer Toth. It's actually, you know, over the weekend. The Pope actually did die today. But we have other deaths to talk about. Jennifer Toth, author who chronicled NYC's mole people, dead at the age of 57.
Starting point is 00:34:34 The author of Mole People living in abandoned tunnels and the subterranean nukes. She died at a hospital in Maryland. with respiratory complications. Huh. Okay. Rest in peace to Jennifer Toth, dead at the age of 57. Then we have former Golf Week CEO
Starting point is 00:34:55 and President Fran Farrell. You know Fran. He's the former Golf Week CEO. He has passed away at the age of 63. He died. The cause of death was COVID-19. According to the family. According to the family, it was that.
Starting point is 00:35:12 They admitted that it was that that killed him. So rest in peace to Fran Farrell, dead at the age of 63. Then we have Joe Thompson, Joe Thompson, dead at the age of 36. Now, he's a soccer player in Europe, former footballer. He died of cancer at the age of 36. What's so fascinating about Joe is that this was cancer the third time around. not wow this was stage four lymphoma okay he had previously been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2013 recovered before the cancer returned four years later he went on to recover
Starting point is 00:35:56 a second time before calling time on his career in 2019 so then he just became a motivational speaker and mentored people and then he got this cancer diagnosis you didn't hear me the first time you didn't hear me the second time. How about the third time you hear me with stage four, lymphoma? Very sad. Man, talk about a guy that's just been battling through it and finally lost. Very sad.
Starting point is 00:36:24 But he fought through it hard. Joe Thompson, dead at the age of 36. Rest in peace to all. Boarding for flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes. Ugh, what?
Starting point is 00:36:52 Sounds like Ojo time. Play Ojo. Great idea. Feel the fun with all the latest slots in live casino games and with no wagering requirements. What you win is yours to keep groovy. Hey, I won! Feel the fun. The morning will begin when passenger Fisher is done celebrating.
Starting point is 00:37:10 19 plus Ontario only. Please play responsibly. Concerned by your gambling or that if someone close, you call 186653310 or visit comexontera.ca. This is pretty amazing. I can't believe it's still ongoing, but it is. The gunman responsible for killing 23 people and wounding 22 others in the mass shooting at an El Paso, Texas, Walmart in 2019,
Starting point is 00:37:31 is now expected to plead guilty. Remember the story? I mean, it's just horrible. And he is expected to plead guilty to capital murder charges today. The plea deal ends, yeah, brings the long-running case to a close. Yeah. And avoids the death penalty. I don't know that I like that, but okay.
Starting point is 00:37:50 Investigated by officials as an act of domestic terrorism, yeah. Then the 21-year-old Patrick Crissis. drove more than 700 miles from DFW area home, entering the store armed with a semi-automatic rifle and wearing headphones and earmuffs. The four-page anti-immigrant and white nationalist manifesto uploaded to the website 8chan minutes before the shooting suggested the specific store was targeted due to demographics of the city.
Starting point is 00:38:17 El Paso is 80% Hispanic and Latino. Sentencing will come on top of 90 consecutive life sentences handed down in 20. on federal ha-kime charges. That's what I thought. So now this is just from the capital murder charges. Why are we we should not be messing
Starting point is 00:38:38 with anything other than the death penalty for this guy? I'm sorry. No, I guess we want it over with and to be done with it. But he's, what he was 21. So we're six years out. He's 27. And we're going to put him for life in prison
Starting point is 00:38:53 at 27. I mean, we're going to pay for another 60, 70 years of this guy in prison? I guess. Okay. I guess. But it should be the death penalty. But we want to wrap up the case.
Starting point is 00:39:07 So he's expected to plead guilty today to avoid the death penalty. Speaking of jails, I see where Harvey Weinstein, you know, he's now, you know, his trial, the jury selection has been underway for this new trial in New York. He still has time to serve in L.A., but New York's not given them to L.A. until after this second trial here in New York. He might not make it. We've talked about this before. He is not a well man.
Starting point is 00:39:32 But he now is allowed to stay in the hospital during the New York retrial. So he's transferred from Rikers Island to a New York City hospital after the judge approved his request to remain there during his retrial on sex crime charges. Judge said, yeah, he can be moved from prison ward to Bellevue Hospital so that he can receive necessary. medical treatment. The order will remain in effect until next week with a hearing schedule to further discuss the matter. So I don't know if that means he's still going to show up in court every day or if he has to be in the hospital. I feel like he's going to, instead of taking him back to Rikers, they're going to take him back
Starting point is 00:40:12 to the hospital after court. But it doesn't say that. It just says that he's going to remain in the hospital instead of Rikers during the trial. But he's been, you know, we've talked about all the things that he's, he's been, you know, we've talked about all the things that he's. he's got wrong with him. He's been really sick. But his attorneys were talking about how he's suffered tremendously within its walls. And no human in his medical condition, no matter what they're accused of, should be treated so inhumanely.
Starting point is 00:40:39 And without any regard for the protections of our Constitution, that was Mr. Weinstein's attorneys. Good for them. I mean, okay, so he has been experiencing unhealthy and atypical weight gain and was forced to endure freezing temperatures at Rikers Island. Many of you may be saying, oh, no. As a result of this mistreatment, he has been significantly worn down health-wise and now faces the added stress of trial, which could lead to serious health complications, even death. This was his attorney. Okay. So Weinstein, who was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer in 2024, had been imprisoned on Rikers Island. In addition to the cancer. He's been treated at Bellevue Hospital on Manhattan for leukemia, diabetes,
Starting point is 00:41:29 coronary artery disease, and sleep apnea. And he went under a surgery for, he had went heart surgery. He is, wow, he is not a well man. He is not going to make it through this trial. The people who want vengeance against Harvey Weinstein, you better just be happy with him suffering in Rikers and between the hospital and these trials, because I don't think Harvey's going to make it. But, uh, and, you know, is it sad? Well, I mean, we're not supposed to wish for anyone's death, are we? Jeff, you just got done saying you wanted that guy to go to the death penalty.
Starting point is 00:42:03 Oh, yeah. Well, what are you going to do? All right, let's get out of here with a joke of the day.
