Starting point is 00:00:33 And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. You know, I know we often talk about, man, I'd like to have superpowers. You know, like, I'd like to fly or maybe X-ray vision. I think you know what I'm talking about. But I see a post, and it talks about four humans that have real life superpowers that they claim scientists can't explain. Like Ty Nagalk, he hasn't slept since 1973. Then there's Wim Hof with Stan's freezing temperatures.
Starting point is 00:01:11 Then there's Stephen Wiltshire, the man with the photographic memory. And then there's Daniel Browning Smith, who is the most flexible man on the planet. Are those superpowers? I don't know. I don't know. this is, you know, strange human feats. I guess we could consider them some kind of superpowers, but has the guy,
Starting point is 00:01:40 Ty Nagok really not slept since 1973? Is that a superpower? I guess so. It'd be nice not to have to sleep. You'd have the amount of time to be very successful or just be, you know, lazier than you are already. you can withstand freezing temperatures so I can too
Starting point is 00:02:02 I'll put a jacket on the photographic memory is kind of cool they showed him drawing and painting things that he has seen and I guess it stays in his brain I don't know what good would come of that and Daniel Browning Smith
Starting point is 00:02:19 I mean he we could see him and people of his ilk in Cirque de Soleil so are those super powers? I still think flying and x-ray vision maybe I mean we still have strong people right a super strength those are all superpowers but flying and x-ray vision those are the two superpowers that are top-notch and those are the superpowers well those are the superpowers I want welcome welcome to chewing the fat
Starting point is 00:02:56 The Dolly cargo ship in Baltimore at the port in the Patapsco River is now free. After 55 days stuck after the crash, it has now been refloated and moved. So it's out of the way. The ship's removal will now allow for all pre-collapse deep raft commercial vessels to enter and exit the port of Baltimore, which is fantastic. We still, I mean, it's going to be very difficult
Starting point is 00:03:37 to move product out of that port because of, I don't know, a missing bridge. But the temporary federal channel will soon be 400 feet wide, 50 feet deep, and so they plan to open the permanent 700 foot wide
Starting point is 00:03:53 by 50 foot deep federal navigation channel by the end of this month. So the commercial vessels will start coming in and out of the Baltimore Port. Incredible that they're all happy about it. It took less time than what they had originally said it was going to take.
Starting point is 00:04:14 That's great. Now, they're still investigating why the ship lost power and veered off course and killed six construction workers. And so they're still fighting over how much money the company is going to pay and what the insurance companies are going to pay, that will all have to be worked out. But I find it fascinating that the 21 member crew who have been confined to the ship since that day, well, since March 26th, they're going to have to still stay on board. What? Yeah, I mean, they've been on board the whole time.
Starting point is 00:04:49 And they said that they have been working the whole time, helping people and salvage crews navigate the boat. And so they've, they haven't. been just sitting around, although I'm sure a lot of that time was just obviously sitting around. But they've been without their cell phones for more than a month. The FBI confiscated the devices. And they're trying to get these guys home. Their one month of visas expired. So I guess they can't legally leave the ship. And so now they're worried they've got to try to get these gentlemen back home and see their families. And also they're trying to prioritize who has to stay.
Starting point is 00:05:29 stay on the ship and who gets to leave. So it's just incredible that this is still ongoing. I will say that it's good that the company has provided mental health services for the seamen who have been grappling with the deaths of the sick construction workers killed in the crash. It's been tough for the seafarers. Yeah, they're stuck on this ship without any communication. And they have to look at the crash site for 55 days. really very, very, very hard.
Starting point is 00:06:01 I understand that struggle. So they used several tugboats and they pulled the 106,000 tonne vessel to the Sea Gert Marine Terminal in Baltimore. That's the terminal that it departed from eight weeks ago. So it's free and the port is now open and it will be fully open by the end of the month. So got that going for us. I guess we've got that. this going for us too. I'm sure Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy. Yeah, there are a billion dollars in debt. Ah, so what? Wendy's is going to offer a $3 breakfast deal as McDonald's. We talked about
Starting point is 00:06:38 the other day has their value meals to drive sales. But we got big news yesterday that Target is going to cut prices on 5,000 products. 5,000 products are going to get price cuts at Target. Wow. Now, apparently they've already lowered the price on roughly 1,500. items and the remaining cuts will take effect in the coming week. And the lowered prices will also be available through Target's website and a shopping app. Huh. At the same time, their earnings are down 1.7% in sales. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:14 And so they are trying to say that inflation is easing. Okay. If you say so, I was looking at what some of the products were that, they were taking the price lower on, like Clorox and Prime Energy drink, as well as its house brands, although prices may vary, depending on City.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Target highlighted some examples with a 75-count canister of Clorox wipes being reduced to $4.99 from $5.79, and one pound of unsalted butter from its Good and Gather brand, dropping to $3.79 from $3.79 from $3. of 99 cents whoa I mean it's something right I know
Starting point is 00:08:02 I know it's something it just doesn't feel like it's enough but I don't know what enough would be you know we're in this we're in this predicament because while they claim inflation is continuing to ease it doesn't feel like it right I mean it's kind of a side I read an article the other day
Starting point is 00:08:23 talking about how the it's a silent depression I think that's what they called it, because we're continually told that inflation is easing. These companies are saying they're dropping prices. I mean, 20 cents on butter. Okay, you know, great. It's 20 cents less. I had to pay.
Starting point is 00:08:43 That's wonderful. But they, you have to buy all those products to get the full savings, Jeff. I understand. But we're continually told that the inflation is easing and Wall Street is doing wonderful. And even the president himself told us, you've got the money. We've got the money. Well, first of all, do we? And second, people don't feel like inflation is easing.
Starting point is 00:09:07 So, I mean, when you walk through the grocery store, does it feel like you're saving money? No, it does not for me. I'll tell you that. Every time you walk out of a grocery store, no matter what grocery store you go to, and look at what you have in your shopping cart, and then look at the receipt for what you paid, Does it feel like inflation is easing? No. But anyway, you know, good for Target and, you know,
Starting point is 00:09:34 lowering prices on those products to get you inside the store because they're going to reduce prices on fruit, milk, meat, peanut butter, pet food, vegetables, and paper towels. And those are products people actually do use. So good, but I don't know that it's good enough. And it is interesting that, you know, now that we're getting into the heat of an election. I know I try to steer away from politics,
Starting point is 00:10:01 but it's just, it's interesting to me that we're coming down to the wire of an election between Donald Trump and Joseph Biden, who is now our president and Donald Trump, the former president, and how these companies who met with the Biden administration are now dropping some prices, to make it seem like things are getting better under Joe Biden.
Starting point is 00:10:32 We have to remember that things got a lot worse because of Joe Biden. So he is trying to fix a problem he created. Can that actually happen? I feel like the answer to that is no. Boarding for flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes. Ugh, what? Sounds like Ojo time. Play Ojo?

And I want to make fun of the story, but then I listened to the actual news report, and I'm like, I didn't know it. Just let her have her goose. So this lady in Iowa, Angel Queener, bought her goose blue as a pet. about 14 months ago. And now it's morphed into so much more.
Starting point is 00:13:12 It's helping her with her list of mental health issues. This is why, you know, I want to make fun of her. And I want to say, come on, what are we doing? But the city of Cheriton, Iowa, I believe that's right. Cherryton, Iowa, C-H-A-R-I-T-O-N. If you pronounce it differently in Iowa, my apologies. And they claim that geese are prohibited in the city, according to the municipal code. So she has documentation from her mental health.
Starting point is 00:13:38 team that addresses her need for an emotional support animal. And she's recovering drug addict. I mean, it's a really sad story. She's a recovering drug addict. She's four years sober. She had suicidal thoughts until Blue entered her life. And once I got Blue, he saved me from that. I still remained clean.
Starting point is 00:13:58 And she's now fighting to officially register Blue as an emotional sport animal and hopes this will keep them both from having to move. She said, I'll move out of the city. Now, the city may just say, bye, have a nice day. Will she move? I don't know. Can she afford to move? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:14 I'm surprised she has a house already. But I listened to the news report, and she lists off all her issues. She even listed a couple more that couldn't be made out because of a street noise for the live news shot. Maybe the news crew at KCCI. I need to do a better job on the audio. But I digress. Let her have blue and let her have her stupid emotional support goose. I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:14:54 When does it stop? I don't know. Can she travel with the goose? No. Do I want the goose in every business with her? Not really. But, you know, just let her have blue. All right.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. Okay, what is happening down in Memphis at Graceland? There's some sort of foreclosure sale going on at Memphis or at Graceland in Memphis. And this cannot happen. This does not happen, right? The granddaughter of Elvis, the king, Daniel Riley Keough, is the current owner of the property. She was able to get a restraining order against any sale before a court rules on her
Starting point is 00:15:54 application for an injunction. Okay, so she filed a lawsuit this month stating that last year, uh, Nassani investments and private lending LLC presented documents purporting to show that Lisa Marie Presley had borrowed $3.8 million from Nassani investments and gave a deed of trust in covering Graceland as security. Uh, Lisa Mary Presley, Elvis's daughter and mother of, uh, Danielle. I mean, she died in January of 2023. She was the sole heir to Graceland. And, you know, I mean, that Elvis gave it to her. And its overall worth is now reportedly reached into the hundreds of millions of dollars. Yeah. I mean, hello. So now, according to, according to the granddaughter, the documents are fraudulent. Lisa Marie never borrowed money from Nassani investments.
Starting point is 00:16:54 never gave a deed of trust to Nasani investments. The court document also identified a notary in Florida who said she never met Lisa Marie Presley nor notarized any document for her despite her name being on loan paperwork. That's pretty damning in and of itself. The lawsuit alleges DeSani Investments and Private Lending LLC appears to be a false entity
Starting point is 00:17:19 created for the purpose of defrauding. Yeah, no kidding. Any people that have tried to reach out to the Sauni investments and private lending LLC got an automated reply to their emails. We are currently out of the office. We'll resume normal business hours on Tuesday. Uh-huh. So they just keep getting kicked back.
Starting point is 00:17:44 So we'll see what happens with this. The sale is scheduled for the 23rd, which is, I don't know, Thursday of this month, of this week today. If you're listening live, it is the 21st of May, 2024. So they are supposed to have this all over.
Starting point is 00:18:06 We'll see what happens. This is not right. And I feel this is just agonizing. They are going to have to prove that Lisa Marie actually did borrow the money and put the deed of trust up as security. But that's pretty damning evidence that the nose,
Starting point is 00:18:23 in Florida on the document doesn't have any idea why it was being used, why her name was being used to be the notary, never met Lisa Marie, did not notarize any of the paperwork. Oh, okay. So we'll see if the non-judicial sale of Graceland based on the fraudulent deed of trust actually happens. Wow. This can't be allowed.
Starting point is 00:18:55 I'm sorry. This will not be allowed. We're not giving the Kings Graceland to some investment company. Nope, not doing it. Plus, if you're going to scam Graceland and get Graceland, which, you know, I appreciate a good scam, you ought to have the notary on board with the case, right? With the scam.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Because now you've got a notary that notarized the documents saying, I never heard of anything. My name. I don't know why my name is being used. I don't know why my notary stamp is being used on this case. Yeah, that's so, you know, you got to cover your bases. Another court case in the news, Scottie Sheffler, that case has been postponed.
Starting point is 00:19:40 He does not go before the judge until June 3rd. I guess there was some deal with the courts. Uh-huh. And so it's been postponed until June. third, there's also another reporter for ESPN who saw the event
Starting point is 00:20:01 take place that morning, the same as Jeff Darlington. His recollection, his eyewitness report, is about the same as Jeff Darlington's. Only he was saying that the cop got very angry pursuing the car. He was
Starting point is 00:20:17 kind of running alongside chasing the car. Maybe he tripped and fell. I mean, Darlington said he attached himself to the vehicle, which would mean that maybe he grabbed the door handle or something. It was running along behind it. And so that's where it happened with the, he hurt his little knee in his wrist and he ripped his pants. And he's going to jail. So we'll see. We'll see what happens. I guess they have not been contacted by any of the attorneys, either the prosecution or the defense yet. But they, there's since the police, police officer failed to turn on his body cam.
Starting point is 00:20:56 They're the only witnesses. So it's their word against the police officer's word. And you kind of feel like, well, maybe the cop ought to, you know, calm down a little bit. But we'll see. We'll see. We'll find out what happens between now and June 3rd. Maybe the case will just, I don't know, go away. And there is actual footage, I guess.
Starting point is 00:21:21 I just found this out that there is footage from a fixed camera across the street. That footage does exist and will be released in coming days. So maybe that's the footage
Starting point is 00:21:36 that the defense is waiting to get and we'll see just how correctly this happens. I mean, Schaeffler believes he was told by one officer to continue on
Starting point is 00:21:50 And then the other officer told him to stop. And when he finally realized what was happening, he stopped. Then the other cop goes pissed because he had to chase him and he disregarded his orders. And that's where we get into the arrest. So I find it interesting. Well, it's just a fascinating case to me because Louisville cops, I know, I know, back the blue. I know. I get it.
Starting point is 00:22:11 But come on now. Then another ongoing case is my man, Alec Baldwin. I believe we get a. ruling this week or next about the charges against him being dismissed for the in his connection with the shooting on the Rust movie set. I know. So, I mean, we'll see. He was indicted on two counts.
Starting point is 00:22:38 And when I say he, I mean, Alec, being indicted on two counts, involuntary manslaughter and negligent use of a firearm or in the alternative involuntary manslaughter without due caution. or circumspection. Now, he's not required to show up for a hearing that they just had, but they are asking for it to be dismissed at this hearing. And the prosecution and the defense got into some heated back and forth in front of the judge on this case.
Starting point is 00:23:12 And I guess they had served several discovery requests. They're asking for communication with the witnesses. and both people, both attorneys, the prosecution and the defense, they don't like each other much. So we'll see. We'll see what happens now the case could get dismissed altogether, and it should. But that is doubtful. So good luck to, man, I hate saying this, good luck to Alec Baldwin.
Starting point is 00:23:56 It's hockey season, and you can get anything you need delivered with Uber Eats. Well, almost, almost anything. So no, you can't get a nice rank on Uber Eats. But iced tea, ice cream, or just plain old ice? Yes, we deliver those. Goaltenders, no. But chicken tenders, yes. Because those are groceries, and we deliver those too.

Starting point is 00:24:30 today. Well, let's begin with the Raiders, the Oakland, the Las Vegas Raiders, the LA Raiders, Legend Jim Otto. Hall of Fame, NFL Hall of Fame Center played 15 seasons with the Raiders, has died at the age of 86. There was no cause of death, you know, given. So I'm sure it wasn't that. But he is the original raider, man. That guy never missed a game. He set a franchise record of 210 consecutive starts. That guy was a monster in the NFL, man. He retired in 1974.
Starting point is 00:25:18 He was no, you know, he had the double zero jersey. He was the first season of eligibility for the Hall of Fame he gets in. The guy was incredible on the football field. And he was, you know, just a monster. Then after football, and even during football, I mean, he had 70 surgeries more than 70 surgeries, multiple operations on his knees, and the guy could barely walk.
Starting point is 00:25:43 And then he had his, I did not know this, he had his right leg amputated after some infections that he had. Just incredible. And he said, I mean, he loved football. He wasn't bad-mouthing football at all. He could barely freaking move in one interview. And I think, it was the same interview where they showed him getting up in the morning and cracking and bending
Starting point is 00:26:03 and trying to get his body ready to be able to move a little bit. He said that he came off the field and his eyes would be crossed. Is that an issue? Yeah, he said, do you ever get, ever happened to you? You get head in the head so hard that your eyes were crossed? I mean, that guy played football when football was football, man. piece to Jim Otto, dead at the age of 86. Next up, we have, or next down, we have Ivan Boski.
Starting point is 00:26:41 Ivan Bosky, he was the inspiration for Gordon Gecko from the movie Wall Street, dead at the age of 87. He denied saying it, but all the reports quoted him as expressing his view that greed is healthy. That's right. Greed is healthy. There was no cause of death given, but he ended up going to jail. I mean, Giuliani ended up trying him and sending him off to jail. He was giving literal briefcases full of cash for insider trading for a Wall Street firm.
Starting point is 00:27:20 And then he sold them out. He sold them all down the river. He did. Giuliani brought all of them down. He brought the Drexel Burnham Lamber. down one of the biggest trading firms. He brought down Michael Milken, the junk bond king, remember?
Starting point is 00:27:37 And then, who ultimately pleaded guilty to six security violations, although Donald Trump pardoned him because I'm sure they were buds. But he never recovered professionally, but I was reading about his life. And he ended up pretty soft life because he was living in Southern California
Starting point is 00:27:54 following a divorce settlement with his wife that, included $20 million, annual payments of $180,000, and a $2.5 million California home. Can she marry me? Please, that would be nice. His first wife, his first wife, Silberstein, Seema Silberstein. Her dad was a real estate magnet out of Detroit. And he, one of his holdings was the Beverly Hills Hotel in California. after her father's death, she and hubby, Ivan, won a court battle against her sister and brother-in-law over the hotel's ownership. Then, after they got a divorce, that's when she agreed to pay him the $23 million and $180,000 a year for life and the house.
Starting point is 00:28:47 That was a good deal. That was a good deal. Okay, so rest in peace. Ivan Amoski, the inspiration for Wall Street's Gordon Gecko, dead at the age of 87. Then we have a death and maybe more coming from an aircraft that went through severe turbulence
Starting point is 00:29:11 between London and Singapore. And I love the first reports of this. One dead, others injured, due to severe turbulence on board a Boeing aircraft. It wasn't just... It just didn't have anything to do with Boeing, okay? I know it was a Boeing aircraft, but it really didn't have anything to do with Boeing.
Starting point is 00:29:29 So some of the pictures of the airline is incredible. So it experienced this severe turbulence causing the death of one 73-year-old British man. And there are several others that went to the hospital in critical condition. There were 211 passengers and 18 crew on board. So it took off from London on its way to Singapore, and then it had severe turbulence about 11.5 hours into the flight. So people are pretty comfortable on the plane, right? I mean, you're sitting there.
Starting point is 00:30:06 You probably don't have your seat belt on, and you're just kind of half asleep. 11 hours into the flight? Yeah. And then all of a sudden, the one report says, I'm covered in coffee. The airplane dropped suddenly. Objects were throwing around the cabin.
Starting point is 00:30:21 they were screaming one woman had a gash on her head uh they were just incredible they ended up uh heading to bangkok because of the turbulence they never they did not make it to singapore and so we'll see what happens uh they it just incredible that it dropped so sharply and it said that uh you know everyone uh that was seated that wasn't wearing a seat belt was launched into the seal Some people hit their heads on baggage cabins overhead. Lights and masks were broken through. It just amazing. And people were screaming in agony.
Starting point is 00:31:05 So this is a flight from London to Singapore that ended up being redirected to Bangkok because of all the damage inside after this massive turbulence hit. So, I mean, the pictures are incredible. The plane is just a wreck, just damage. And you can imagine how comfortable
Starting point is 00:31:24 if you ever been on a long flight like that, and I have, you know, after you're about 10 hours in, you're pretty comfy. Everything's going along fine. You just kind of, you've eaten, you've got some drinks, you've watched a movie or two,
Starting point is 00:31:36 you've napped, you just kind of relaxed, let's go, you're looking at the map thinking, okay, I've only got a few more hours to go, we're fine. And then you have massive turbulence hit like that where you just drop, man, that's why they tell you, keep your seat.
Starting point is 00:31:50 seatbelts on at all times even if the seatbelt light isn't on if you're sitting in your seat have your seat belt on and this is a perfect example of why that needs to happen and speaking of the dead i see where Courtney Cox said in an interview that Matthew Perry still visits her after death he's around for sure she said that I'm so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years and he visits me a lot if we believe in that This was a CBS Sunday morning interview, you know, if we believe in that. Yeah, I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people that I think guide us.
Starting point is 00:32:32 I do sense. I sense Matthews around for sure. Me too, Courtney. Me too. With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too. That's the powerful bag. of Amex. Conditions apply. So Elon, back in the news, as usual, a Carnival, the world's largest cruise company,
Starting point is 00:33:15 announced that 100% of its ships across its global fleet are now equipped with SpaceX's Starlink global internet. And the Carnival CEO said Starlink is about a game changer. We've already seen a surge and guest satisfaction. Have you? Have you? Yeah, I'm sure they have. that doesn't necessarily mean they've seen a surge in customers, but they have seen a surge in satisfaction. Then we have big news from Neerolink. It's getting a second chance. The FDA granted Elon's NeuroTech Company approval to place its brain chip into a second
Starting point is 00:33:56 human test subject using a new method designed to correct issues that arose after its inaugural insertion in January. Yeah, remember the country? company's first implant into Noland Arbaugh, which allows him to operate a computer with his mind. But Arbaugh said Neurlink had to tweak the software to maintain the chip's functionality. 85% of the ultra-thin threads connecting to his brain's cortex detached. So the new technique that will be used on the next candidate will implant the threads 8mm into the brain's cortex. about three to five millimeters deeper than the method used on Arbaugh to give the device better stability.
Starting point is 00:34:43 Yeah, just stick it down in there. Get it in the brain, would you? Neurrelink said more than 1,000 quadriplegics have applied to receive the chip, although fewer than 100 meet the criteria for its study, which is still accepting applications. So if you're a quadriplegic and I think you're like to have the neuralink, you can still apply. The company's goal is to implant 10,000.
Starting point is 00:35:05 into a diverse group of patients this year. But it said most of the candidates so far are white. Can't have that. Can't have most of the candidates white males. Oh my gosh. Okay. All right. Anyway, good luck to Neurolink and all the quadriplegics.
Starting point is 00:35:26 Wow. And we have digital pharmacy him and hers. Said it will now offer compounded GLP-1. weight loss injections at a fraction of the price of OZempec and Wigavoy. Wow. Customers with prescriptions in some states can get their hands on the injections for $199 a month. Following the announcement, him and her stock jumped by more than 30%. Yeah, I bet.
Starting point is 00:35:54 The pharmaceutical giant makes OZempec that has a grip on the weight loss drug market, but is struggling to keep up with demand. This could open up the door to other companies like him and hers to of the field, but it's worth noting that him and hers weight loss drug is a compound injection and doesn't require FDA approval. Anderson said he hasn't been there for 20 years, but Barclay actually was there, like, I don't know, five or six years ago for some, golf game. But it's really fun to see Anthony Edwards and Charles go at it. It's getting Minnesota's

Starting point is 00:39:37 a woman next to him says, Before you tell that joke, I think it's only fair, given that you are blind that you should know five things. The bartender is a blonde girl with a baseball hat. The bouncer is a blonde girl.
Starting point is 00:39:52 I'm a six-foot-tall, 170-pound blonde woman with a black belt and karate. The woman sitting next to me is a blonde, and a professional weightlifter, and the lady to your right is blonde and a professional wrestler. Now, think about it seriously.
Starting point is 00:40:08 Do you still want to tell that blonde joke? So the blind Marine thinks for a second and shakes his head and mutters, nope, not if I'm going to have to explain it five times. It's just a joke.
