About 780,000 pressure washers sold at retailers
Starting point is 00:00:42 like Home Depot are being recalled across the U.S. and Canada due to a projectile hazard that has resulted in fractures and other injuries among some consumers. That's it, though. According to this recall notice published by the U.S. Consumers Product, Safety Commission, the TTI Outdoor Power Equipment is recalling certain models of its riobe-branded electric pressure washers because the product's capacitor can overheat and burst, causing parts to be forcefully ejected. That does not sound like something you want to have happen. It poses serious impact risks to users or bystanders. To date, the power tool and equipment company has received
Starting point is 00:01:33 135 reports of capacitors overheating in the U.S., including 41 reports of explosions that resulted in 32 injuries and or fractures to consumers' fingers, hands, face, and eyes. There's a corresponding notice from Health
Starting point is 00:01:49 Canada noted that no additional incidents were reported in Canada. Consumers in possession of the now recalled pressure washers are urged to stop using them immediately and visit the Ryobi's recall website to learn about how to receive a free repair kit, which includes a replacement capacitor. That is nice of them. So they're going to let you fix it
Starting point is 00:02:15 yourself because, well, I guess there's no place for you to take it back to, unless you wanted to take it back to, I don't know, the place of purchase and let them fix it. But no, they're going to, you need to contact them so that they can say. you a free repair kit. I notice that's kind of a new thing. And I don't know how crazy I am. But they give you the model numbers of which particular ones are recalled and they were sold in the U.S.
Starting point is 00:02:43 And some in Canada. The products were sold at Home Depot and Direct Tools Factory Outlet between July, 2017 and June of 2024. They were about $3 or $400 in stores and online. The TTI Outdoor Power Equipment is a subsidiary of the Tectronic Industries. Oh, that's nice. And beyond the pressure washer recall, TTI also has recalled the Ryobi-branded mowers and hedge-trimmers earlier this year due to fire and laceration hazards. That's not funny at all.
Starting point is 00:03:22 So if you have some Ryobi hedge trimmers or lawnmowers, or lawn mowers, or in particular power washers, be careful and make sure that they are not part of this recall if you've been using them. And if they are part of the recall, stop using them immediately and then contact them so they can send you the parts and you can fix it for them.
Starting point is 00:03:45 That's nice of them, don't you think? Yes, of course it is. Welcome. Welcome to Chewing the Fat. Still no jackpot winner in the power ball. drawing. So tomorrow's drawing, those of you listening live, today is the second of September 2025. Wow, we're into September already. The next drawing is tomorrow, September 3rd, 2025 for $1.30 billion. Now, that may rise in the next day or so now that, you know, more people are
Starting point is 00:04:27 playing with a cash value of $589.0 million as of today. Now, the last drawing on Labor Day Monday, they had obviously no jackpot winner. They did have one, or they had two, two million dollars, one from Montana and one from North Carolina. And they did have, wow, they had one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, one million dollar winners. California, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, couple in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. So if you played in those states, you may have won either $2 million or a million from the Powerball drawing. And you have another opportunity to win the jackpot, which is $1.3 billion tomorrow night.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Now, which is, you know, awesome and that would be fantastic for anyone who ever won it. That's for sure. The Mega Millions drawing seems like a pittance, and that drawing is tonight, the second of September 2020. for $302 million. Yeah, that's a pittance with $136.0 million cash payout. I know. I know. I did actually win some money on these last two drawings over the weekend,
Starting point is 00:05:51 along with my wife and myself. We won $22. Yeah. Yeah. One ticket won $10 and another ticket won $12. So how about you back off me? Okay, you can't win if you don't play. So I did reinvest some of that money back into these next two drawings.
Starting point is 00:06:16 So hopefully, you know, something nice will come of that. But you darn it, you just never know. You know, speaking of making a lot of money and retiring and retiring people in your life, if you were to make, you know, the lotto winning, either the Powerball or the Mega Millions. If you'd done right, you'd be able to set up your family members for the rest of their lives and the rest of your life. It's generational changing money, hundreds of million of dollars, clearly.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Micah Parsons, we talked about his new contract with the Green Bay Packers. He was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers last week, and it was a new deal. We talked about the deal, and the Cowboys got, you know, a first round draft pick and another player. And I think they got two first round draft picks, 2026 and 2027. Anyway, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:07:10 And he's going to sign a new four-year deal, $188 million deal with $136 million guaranteed. And that makes him the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history at about $47 million a year. And that's great. That's good for him. And I'm happy for him. And that's wonderful.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Thing is, when he was celebrating, getting his new contract with his mom that he just signed this new deal with the Packers. He said that he's going to finally retire his mom from her job. Now, his mom, I believe, is 50 years old and still working. So apparently his money that he signed with the Dallas Cowboys with the original contract, which was $17 million a year, which he was paid every penny.
Starting point is 00:08:01 I know that he was expected. I think he was going to collect another $24 million if it came down to him not being traded, whatever, however the deal was. But now he's able to retire his mom. He couldn't retire his mom before then. That seems to me to be a real kind of issue. I don't understand that at all.
Starting point is 00:08:24 I just signed a deal. This would be my. you know a few years ago worth 17 million dollars a year sorry mom you're still going to have to work though thanks to this new deal though where I'm making 47 million dollars a year you know I'm going to go ahead and you know make it so you don't have to work anymore incredible incredible I don't I couldn't fathom that at all but you know good for Micah for finally taking care of his mother I'm not sure why he couldn't do that on the low, low, $17 million a year contract, but apparently he couldn't.
Starting point is 00:09:02 And his mom was continuing to break her back out there until now. So just sounded really strange to me. I don't understand it at all. But good for Micah and good for Micah's mom for finally being able to be retired off of her son. Finally, finally, finally, making more than 17 million. year. Starting point is 00:14:11 Now, for those of you that have been following me, you know, I do plenty of time on the Pat Gray-on-Leash program. So if you want to see the video of this, you can go there and on my Fat Five segment this morning on Pat Grey Unleashed, I aired the video from Matt. He was on a family trip to Greenland. And as you know, I believe that we should just tell Greenland they're ours. be done with it. Well, Matt
Starting point is 00:14:38 did what our U.S. government should have done already. He went over there and planted the flag. On behalf of myself, and well, on behalf of you, the United States citizens listening to this broadcast right now. I'm a little uneasy. He, you know, titled me
Starting point is 00:14:54 the Supreme Leader. I don't necessarily, you know, want that title of a Supreme Leader, but, you know, it has to be. It has to be. And welcome, Greenland, to being part of the United States now. It's a done deal. We've had a United States citizen plant the flag on your land, and we now rule you, and that's just the way it is. What else you're going to do?
Starting point is 00:15:16 Yeah, like I always said, nothing. So thank you, Matt, for doing what the U.S. government should have already done and doing it on behalf of myself and chewing the fat and Pat Gray unleashed and the United States citizens. Thank you very much. All right, so I'm looking through the top movies from this past weekend. You know, weapons, number one again, Jaws, 50th anniversary. I think Jaws, that makes it re-release like, I don't know, one of the biggest re-release movies of all time. They got over $8 million, 9.8 million over the four-day holiday for Jaws,
Starting point is 00:15:57 the 50th anniversary. Caught Stealing, Freakier Friday, The Roses, Fantastic Four is number six, the bad guys two seven superman still hanging in there at eight they're at six hundred and eleven point five million global nobody two hanging in there at ninth on week three but not that good uh 36.2 million global i mean i don't know what they spent on it but uh it seems like they expected better from that the naked gun uh still hanging in there at number 10 week five they've gotten 95.7 million global, which I feel like that is not good for them either. And, you know, then it got me thinking, I read a story about how Pamela Anderson and
Starting point is 00:16:43 Liam Neeson aren't a thing. Wait. Yeah, we were told that it was, though. I'm a little hurt. I know. Maybe it's just me. I don't know. Maybe it's just me.
Starting point is 00:16:55 I'm a little hurt. We were told that they were a couple, right? He held his private life private. and out of the spotlight following the passing of his wife, Liam's wife in 2009, but he found unexpected companionship in Pamela Anderson. And then they were together. They had done all kinds of things.
Starting point is 00:17:18 It was reported that they were a couple and that they both had found this relationship helpful thanks to their times and this movie. Well, according to this, They never were together in the first place, so they can't break up. Their flirtatious moments on the red carpet were all part of their publicity while promoting their film, The Naked Gun. Wait, what? The whole romance was just a facade to increase sales of the film's tickets?
Starting point is 00:17:50 Yeah, it didn't work because it was terrible. Okay, sorry about that. It really wasn't that good. You're not funny, Liam. Maybe some people think you are. Maybe you've done a couple of things that could be perceived as being funny. But okay. So I guess the chemistry was real on camera, but off it was strictly business.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Pamela is a pro. Liam is a pro. And they knew leaning into the rumors would get attention. Oh, isn't that special? I'm a little love. I mean, Needson said he was madly in love during a today's show appearance. So that was all just BS. Yeah, this is why nobody likes you anymore, Liam and Pam.
Starting point is 00:18:35 You know, maybe you thought it was funny saying that you were dating Liam, but I'm hurt. I'm hurt. So, you know, there's that. Does it really matter if they're actually a couple? Of course not. But it just, you know, the world was okay because they were a couple, wasn't it? No? All right, never mind.
Starting point is 00:18:56 Let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. All right, so I'm still watching Chief of War on Apple with Jason Momoa, and it's pretty good. I've been enjoying it. I don't know. We're at six or seven episodes in. But there is a show that I didn't start watching this weekend because between, I mean, football is back, right?
Starting point is 00:19:26 I mean, Saturday was a huge college football day. And then we had, you know, a big game on Sunday night. And so, you know, I just didn't get around to it. But the Terminalist, Dark Wolf, is available on Prime. And the first three episodes already dropped, and then they're going to drop new episodes every Wednesday before the season finale on September 24th. I really enjoyed Terminal List. And so this is, you know, the, obviously, I think this is the prequel.
Starting point is 00:20:00 It explores, I'm sorry, it explores the origin story of one of one of the, of the main characters of the Terminal List. Oh, all right. So Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitch, on his journey from the Navy Seals to the CIA Special Operations. All right. So Terminalist Dark Wolf.
Starting point is 00:20:19 And I'm looking forward to it. I am looking forward to it. I'll let you know. I don't know when I'm going to have time this week. My whole schedule, this whole schedule thing for work and family and stuff as God's turning into a real problem with my viewing. Then there's football, and this whole, something's going to have to give.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Because my viewing is what's giving right now, and I don't like it. I don't like it one little bit. So I'm going to, something's going to have to change. Might have to kick the family out. I'm not sure yet. But I'll let you know what I decide. And we have Ariada Grande saying that she is going to go on her first. tour in seven years. Yay!
Starting point is 00:21:08 Five dates in London, the only show so far scheduled outside of North America. The Eternal Sunshine Tour is named after her latest album, which came out in March of last year. Since then, she's focused on acting, earning an Oscar nomination for her role as Glinda and Wicked and The sequel Wicked. And so for good, I guess, that's coming out this November. sequel is coming out on November. That's great.
Starting point is 00:21:35 So the tour is going to begin in Oakland on June 6th, and it will conclude with five nights at London's O2 Arena. Yeah. So go, I guess, to Ariana Grande. Dot com. See if that actually works. Why, yes, it does. And it lists all the concerts that are available for presale right now.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Two nights in Austin, Texas at the end of June. One, two, three, four nights in Los Angeles, two nights in Oakland. Okay, more tour dates. Let's see more tour dates, shall we have on the internal sunshine tour. Okay. Then we go to Florida for a couple of nights. Atlanta for a couple of nights. Brooklyn for one, two, three, four, four nights.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Boston for a couple of nights. Montreal for a couple of nights. Chicago for a couple of nights. London, one, two, three, what we say, five shows in London. And then that's it. So, man, get your opportunity to see Arianna Grande now, starting June 6th around the country and also in London for the Eternal Sunshine Tour. Wow.
Starting point is 00:22:48 I bet you it is going to be really, really good to see her on tour, huh? You know it is. And what is happening over there at Saturday Night Live? Another cast member leaves. This time it's Michael Longfellow. I mean, he joined a couple of years ago. and I guess he was going to be the weekend update star this coming season. I mean, he was just a rep player on season 50,
Starting point is 00:23:12 and he's not coming back for season 51. Interesting. So we don't know why that happened. He said he's leaving SNL. There's others that are a little upset saying, why did he leave? So his departure follows the exits of Devin Walker, Amil Joaquin.
Starting point is 00:23:32 and writers Celestium and Rosebud Baker all hitting the bricks from Saturday Night Live. So maybe it'll be good for the show. I don't know. Lauren Michaels said there might be some other cast members that might be back either. So maybe he's cleaning house. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:23:50 But we're going to miss some, you know, at least we'll have some new people. Maybe some new blood that will bring some comedy to the show. Oh, yeah. So I guess the premiere is supposed to be in October. And we'll see if the premiere of season 51 on October 4th is just, maybe it'll begin with just a bloodbath. And it'll show all the people that were on the show who have left. That's not how to start the show?
Starting point is 00:24:22 Okay. I think it's funny. Just start the show with a bloodbath. Then the new host can come out of the bloodbath. But what do I know? When I got a great deal on a great gift at Winners, I started wondering, could I get fabulous gifts for everyone on my list? Like this designer fragrance for my daughter. At just $39.99, how could I resist?
Starting point is 00:24:57 This luxurious will throw for my sister. This gold watch for my partner? A wooden puzzle for my niece? Leather gloves for my boss? Ooh, European chocolate for the crossing guard? At these prices, could I find something for everyone at Winners? Stop wondering. Start gifting.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Winners. Find Fabulous for Less. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Graham Green. Graham Green, the Oscar-nominated actor from Dances with Wolves, dead at the age of 73. Graham Green is the ultimate, oh yeah, that guy. I loved Graham Green.
Starting point is 00:25:38 He was in so many shows that I love to watch, and in particular, Dance with Wolves. I mean, he was awesome in that. And he was in so many shows. He was part of, he was born in Canada, part of the Oneida tribe of the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario, Canada. And he passed away after a long illness. They didn't say specifically what the cause of death was, but they said a long illness. So very sad that we're going to miss Graham Green and his acting prowess on so many. many shows.
Starting point is 00:26:15 And I mean, you'll see him and you'll go, oh, yeah, that guy. I mean, he was in so, he's Tulsa King, Laws of the Man. He was in, there was, I started to go down the list on his IMDB, reservation dogs, the last of us. He was in American Gods, Blue Ridge, Goliath. He was in, well, dances with wolves, of course, we know. know that he was in longmire he was great in longmire another great wind river uh so many and they when asked i love it so he played a lot of indian characters because i don't know if you know this
Starting point is 00:26:54 he was indian duh there's he's got another movie coming out that is uh yet it was going to be later this year um the reluctant detective which he is in which should be great and there's another one uh protectors of the land a great strong bro those are two um from this year uh trail of vengeance from this year, the protectors from this year, sweet summer powwow from this year. The man was working. The man was definitely working. But my favorite line of his when he was questioned by George Stepanopoulos on whether he had been typecast or not.
Starting point is 00:27:32 His answer to George was, I've played all kinds of things. I've played an old Jewish man in a furniture store in theater. I've played the ghost of a black transvestite. I've played British soldiers. I've played French soldiers. I've played New York cops. I've played lawyers. So, no.
Starting point is 00:27:55 So I just calm down with your typecasting there, George. So rest in peace to Graham Green. Very sad to have this man die. I mean, he even rises above the, oh yeah, that guy really. but for sure he will be missed dead at the age of 73. Then I was reading about another actor Randy Boone, Randy Boone, actor on The Virginian. Nobody knows about that show any longer. He passed away at the age of 83.
Starting point is 00:28:30 So he sang and played guitar on the NBC show and was a regular on It's a Man's World and Cinnamon Street way back in the 60s. He wrote his own horse and portrayed the singing guitar playing ranch hand Randy Benton in the Virginian. So apparently he got the job in the Virginian because he knew how to ride a horse. And he talked the studio into, hey, said, I'll do the job on the Virginian as the singing cowboy on a horse if I can board my horse at the studios. And they said, yeah, sure, go ahead. I mean, he's, I don't really know. I mean, I guess he'd last acted in a 63 Twilight Zone episode.
Starting point is 00:29:18 The seventh is made up of phantoms. And so I'm pretty sure that was his last deal. He was under contract with Universal at the time of the Virginian. And so he was, he was a big part of that. I don't think he was around Hollywood much after that. So rest in peace To Randy Boone Dead at the age of 83
Starting point is 00:29:48 Then we lost two White House correspondents Holy cow We lost them two back to back We lost Charles Beerbauer A former CNN correspondent And past president of the White House Correspondents Association
Starting point is 00:30:05 He died at his home in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, at the age of 83. Then we lost Mark Nuller. Longtime White House correspondent for CBS News. He died in Washington, D.C. He was 73. Wow. I mean, they're 10 years.
Starting point is 00:30:22 They covered several presidents over the decades. And very sad. These guys were part of that. No direct cause was given. So we don't know what killed the two men. But they both died. One died. on Friday and one died on Saturday, 183 and 173.
Starting point is 00:30:44 No word on whether they were, you know, partners or not, I don't think they were. They were not, they were not. But there's no word whether Mark found out about the death of Charles and said he couldn't go on any longer. I, you know, I just, they don't say that in the story. So rest in peace to Charles Birbarrow dead at the age of 83 and Mark Nuller
Starting point is 00:31:10 dead at the age of 73. Then we have football great Leroy Jordan. Leroyd Jordan dead at the age of 84, former Cowboys, Alabama linebacker. He won the national championship with Alabama. He
Starting point is 00:31:26 played for the Cowboys. He's in the Cowboys Ring of Honor. He was, man, when he played, he was outstanding. Leroy Jordan. He's won the Super Bowl and he spent his entire career with the Dallas Cowboys, which is something of an anomaly these days. 14 years with the Cowboys.
Starting point is 00:31:46 Wow. So led the Cowboys to their first Super Bowl championship at the end of the 71 season. I mean, Leroy Jordan was, you know, an awesome football player. He has passed away at the age of 84. No mention of cause of death to Leroy Jordan, although he was part of the doomsday defense for the Dallas Cowboys. So I guess finally the doomsday came.
Starting point is 00:32:12 Rest in peace to Leroy Jordan at the age of 84. Then for the first time, I think, we have a death, a suspicious death at Burning Man. A man was found dead in a pool of blood at the Burning Man Festival Saturday night. just uh they were just burning uh they were burning men that's what they do at burning man and the body was discovered around 9 p.m. when a festival girl or flagged down a sheriff's deputy and said uh hey there's a guy laying over here in a pool of blood so they're investigating the death as a homicide uh they don't i guess they've got it roped off i don't know how you investigate
Starting point is 00:32:58 uh that type of homicide at burning man because wow. I mean, there's just people everywhere and people, who knows. But they're investigating it as a homicide. The body was taken to the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office. They, of course, we talked about last week how the Bureau of Land Management Rangers and Burning Man's own Black Rock Rangers created this perimeter around the area and interviewed several festival growers.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Yeah, I bet they did. But I don't know what they're going to get out. of that. The scene was gated off and the investigation is still ongoing. It appears to be a singular crime and all participants should always be vigilant of their surroundings and acquaintances. Really? Thank you. Yeah, that's for sure they should.
