Starting point is 00:00:00 Blaze Radio Network And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. Four consumers claim McDonald's has falsely advertised their McRib sandwich as containing real pork rib meat with its name and distinctive shape. Before we go on, I want to just say that I don't think I once thought that this was a tremendous this pork sandwich, but I digress. The suit claims the fan favorite sandwich is made with a hybrid of meat parts, including heart, tripe, and stomach.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Oh, okay. So this is a federal case filed in Illinois alleges that the McRib contains the lower grade of pork products. The suit alleges that using rib in the name allows the restaurant to check. change a premium price as much as $7.99 per McRib locator for a non-premium product, creating millions of dollars in consumer harm. McDonald said, no, this lawsuit distorts the facts, and in fact, there are no hearts, tripe, or scalded stomach in the McRib. well that's that's good news i i think if it's true um so good luck to these uh these four these four people who are suing mcdonalds um and they believe they're doing the right thing on our behalf uh because the mcrib i mean they're just fooling people and they're just
Starting point is 00:01:53 fooling people. I mean, it's, it's just deception. Right? Right. The filing notes that pork rib meat, including baby back and spare ribs, is considered a premium product citing the U.S. Department of Agriculture's
Starting point is 00:02:09 National Daily Pork Report, showing rib meat is significantly more expensive than other pork cuts. They obviously are alleging that McDonald's is capitalizing on that, and they are not premium pork cuts. Ah, we know that. If you
Starting point is 00:02:26 thought that it was a premium pork product, I mean, McDonald's has the argument of that's on you, right? I mean, this guy, Dorian Baker, Peter Lay, Charles Lynch, and Derek Wilson claim that are the other ones that are following the lawsuit, and I guess they want more people to jump on board the class action. Good luck with that. good luck with that because I'm not going to go ahead to admit unless it's going to be for a whole lot of money
Starting point is 00:02:58 that I was deceived thinking that this was anything but a meat parts product but good luck facing McDonald's down because McDonald's has said no this is a lie all right we'll see we shall I'll see. Welcome. Welcome to Towing the Fat. Fat 5 Plus. Former NFL star Matt Kaleel is suing his ex-wife, Haley Kalil,
Starting point is 00:03:52 Or invasion of privacy. Why did she invade his privacy, he believes? Because she claimed they divorced because of his enormous man part. Now, this story's been out there a while. She went out on this podcast a little while ago. I think it was in November. I don't remember exactly when it came out. I remember seeing the headline where she commented about.
Starting point is 00:04:22 ex-hubbies man part and uh everybody laughed and she said in the uh in the podcast the uh marlin garcia's marathon live stream uh when she described his man part as two coke cans maybe even a third and it impacted their marriage which ended in 2022 oh okay so i mean he's retired he played for the panthers and the vikings and the NFL he's a lineman and he claims that this comment destroyed his chance to stay out of the public eye after he retired from the NFL
Starting point is 00:05:01 while you suing her is definitely destroying that he is claiming his ex-wife revealed highly intimate and private facts about him and is requesting a jury trial and damages for an amount
Starting point is 00:05:18 that exceeds $75,000 He claimed that the suit, that he and the wife, received substantial financial benefit, increased, oh, he talked about the podcast, that they received financial benefit, increased viewership, increased engagement, monetization through various social media platforms and media coverage. Yeah, that's for sure. That definitely happened. And she said that it was the biggest factor, her, for her, as the marriage was split because it was too big and she was flopping her arm on the table.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Now then it went viral and then she commented after, you know, after it went viral that she cared deeply about Matt's privacy. I cared deeply about respecting his privacy and the integrity of what we shared together. Uh-huh. But during our live stream, we talked about so much more than what's being highlighted in the love in our marriage, the growth we experience, the depth of our connection, sure, and that's what everyone cared about. But no, what you did say was that the main cause of the divorce was that his man part
Starting point is 00:06:32 was too big. Yes, you did say that, didn't you? Yes, yes, you did. The size of two coquans, maybe even a third. So now, I mean, he's remarried, has a son. his wife, I guess, Kalani Asmus, has been subjected to messages, according to him, increasingly frequent, disturbing, and alarming nature over time. So, I mean, I get that he's upset about it, but if you wanted to have a low retirement
Starting point is 00:07:09 and just kind of hang loose, so to speak, and have the new wife and the kid, and just kind of live off whatever money he made over the lifetime of his career, which I'm sure was pretty good. Yeah, not bad. I mean, he signed a five-year, $55.5 million contract with the Carolina Panthers, which included a $12 million signing bonus and $31 million guaranteed. He also had a four-year contract worth $19. That was with the Vikings, which included a $12.8 million signing bonus,
Starting point is 00:07:42 and at $19.77 million guaranteed. So he earned about $65 million in total salary and bonuses over his NFL career. That's not bad. Again, that's not too bad. So if he just wanted to lay low and just kind of, you know, swing relaxingly in the world and not have everybody, you know, every time you're, that's Matt Khalil. Yeah, he's got the Coke can, man. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Hey, solid. Dude. and then the wife being asked all the time, how do you, it didn't work for the first one, how do you, well, she had a kid with him, so something worked. And so, I mean, I think he's bringing more light to it than ever. And had he just gone away and not commented on it,
Starting point is 00:08:33 and it would have been, I think that's Matt Khalil. Instead, now it's, that's Matt Khalil. I just find it interesting that he wanted to have this quiet, retirement and yet we're going to go ahead and highlight this main thing and make it a big time news thing that's never going to go away now ever so good luck good luck to all parties i hope you all work it out and uh matt hang tough you know speaking of the NFL and the money that they make now matt made uh would we say 65 million over the course of his career and he played back, I think, 2012 to maybe he retired.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I'm not sure when he retired. But, you know, he had a pretty decent career in the NFL. You talk about, there's been some coaches that have been fired in the NFL, and they make a whole lot of money for doing nothing now. I will say, as a coach, in particular, an NFL head coach, that is your job, man. You are pretty much got to be locked in 24-7 during the season. So, I mean, it's not like they don't earn their money, but, you know, the Baltimore Ravens just fired Jim Harbaugh, who had just signed a new deal not too long ago. So, I mean, he's going to end up making about a million and a half a month for the next couple years, I think, for sure.
Starting point is 00:10:06 Rahim Morris was fired from the Atlanta Falcons. he is uh i don't know he's going to make uh well not quite over a million a month but i think he's got that for the next uh a couple years anyway uh then you look at the raiders holy cow the raiders have fired several people and they're going to be making they just fired their head coach um not long ago and everyone kind of assumed that uh that uh that uh p carroll was going to go and he did But for the next year, this is just for the next year, not beyond, just next year. The Raiders have to pay Antonio Pierce, the former coach, $8 million. Josh McDaniels, former coach, $10 million.
Starting point is 00:10:53 John Gruden still owed $10 million this year. Pete Carroll, $16 million. And Chip Kelly, the offensive coordinator, who was fired this year and is now coaching, I believe, Northwestern University, they owe $6 million to. Now, when you get another job, I'm not sure. sure how that all works out. Sometimes the contracts defer, and if you're getting another job
Starting point is 00:11:14 and you get a new contract, then if it's less or more, that money can go away. It just depends on the contract that they've worked out for you. But that's an awful lot of money that these guys are getting not to be a coach. And that proves that the NFL is making a whole lot of money because these owners are paying these coaches not to coach. coach. You know what? We don't like what you did this year. We're tired of you. We want to move
Starting point is 00:11:44 on. We want something different. The grass is probably going to be greener over on the other side. So you pack up your stuff and get out. And yeah, that money that we owe you, that's fine. Don't even worry about it. We'll make sure you get your check. I mean, it's incredible. And, you know, and again, for doing nothing. And that's the one thing that these coaches are not used to doing and that is nothing having to be home with the family and not be at the stadium not be on the road not travel to different cities not coach games i mean that's the one that's the one thing they do uh the family and everything else while you know everyone says family first uh really it's the job uh the job then the family and you have to do what's you know
Starting point is 00:12:35 everyone you have to do what's right for you and your family right and what's right for you and your family is to work you know 14 15 18 hours a day maybe come home maybe come back to the house and sleep probably not though so I'm just going to sleep here at the stadium or at our building and I'm going to get wake up and get back to work and I'll see you in a couple of days make sure the kids are all right and tell them I love them. That's what happens. So for these guys to actually have to do nothing, that's going to be really, really hard. Now Harbaugh, everyone is surprised that he got fired. He just got fired because his team didn't make the playoffs. And he, they didn't make the playoffs by a bad kick
Starting point is 00:13:22 from Sunday night football. If you didn't know, if you don't follow, I mean, they were going to win the game. They set it up to win the game with a field goal. The kicker came out. They set it up. They brought in a new kicker this year who they believe was going to be the guy because they for years had a guy that made these big kicks and won games for them and they just got rid of them. And so they brought in this new guy that they said, this is the guy. We believe he's the guy that's going to be the new Tucker. Okay. And so they bring him down to the end of the season. I think it's the first time it's ever happened where the end of the game and the end of the season came down to a final kick that would get you into the playoffs or not into the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:14:07 I mean, it's just amazing. And he missed it. Holy cow. So the Pittsburgh Steelers, who everyone was thinking maybe their head coach is going to get fired, now is going into the playoffs. And the Baltimore Ravens are not going in the playoffs. So I thought, I personally thought Harbaugh was going to be safe. You know, I know his record was incredible.
Starting point is 00:14:30 I mean, even Tony Dungey, who is a coach that had this happen to him? He had set up, he had coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to multiple good seasons, and they were set up to looking great, but he had a bad year, and that was the year they were supposed to go to the Super Bowl. So they fired him and brought in John Gruden. John Gruden took him to the Super Bowl. Sometimes you have to do that. Sometimes the coaches lose their power over a team.
Starting point is 00:14:58 I get that. but Tony Dungey just posted John Harbaugh coached in Baltimore for 18 years. He took them to the playoffs 12 times. He won a Super Bowl for them. The last four years, they were 10 and 7, 13 and 4, 12 and 5, 8 and 9. Oh, yeah, that 8 and 9. They made the playoffs three straight years. And, yeah, three straight years.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Missed this year because their kicker missed the game-winning field goal on the last play of the season. He was fired. Tony says, I'm sorry, but I don't understand. Good luck, Baltimore, finding a better coach. I know. It's really strange. And I will say this, as long as we're talking about sports a little bit here on two in the fat fat five plus. That didn't surprise me.
Starting point is 00:15:52 And I still think if Pittsburgh gets their butt kicked again from Houston this weekend, in wildcard weekend, I would not be surprised to see Mike Tomlin get fired or at least say he's going to retire and walk away. I would not, that would not surprise me at all because the Pittsburgh fans wanted Tomlin out as it is. He's the long, he's the guy that's been a coach longer than Harbaugh. Harbaugh is in second place behind Tomlin as the longest tenured coach. So, I mean, these guys have been around a long time. They've done a lot of good things, but they haven't quite done a lot. They haven't gone to the Super Bowl
Starting point is 00:16:31 lately. And that's, in today's world, that's a problem. Be sure to follow me on my socials at Jeffie JFR on X. Jeff Fisher Radio on Facebook and Instagram, Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher on YouTube. You can email the show anytime, Chewing the Fat at Blaze Media.com. Chewing the fat at blazemedia.com. You can order a cameo from me at any time at Jeffrey JFR on the cameo app. That is not free, but it is worth every doggone shiny nickel at Jeffey JFR on the Cameo app.
Starting point is 00:17:35 You can listen to me every day on Pat Gray unleashed. I'm part of that show. I do a fat five segment every day on Pat Gray on Leashed. That show you can watch on Blaze TV and become a subscriber. I get you $20 off an annual subscription right now if you go to blazTV.com slash Jeffie, BlazTV.com slash Jeffie, and that'll get you $20 off. your Blaze TV subscription and that gets you more than just the Pat Gray show
Starting point is 00:18:02 but really isn't that all you need? Oh yeah. And I'd like to thank X at Jeffrey JFR on X by the way and I do Saturday morning live with Brad Staggs on my X account I think he does it on his X account too but really most importantly
Starting point is 00:18:18 you know it's my X account that matters but if you want to it's at real Brad Staggs on X You know, he does this little daily mojo thing over there Monday through Friday, 7 to 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Central. So, you know, you could go over there and listen to him if you want. But really, Saturday morning live should be, you know, on my ex at Jeffrey JFR. So just wanted to. And anyway, I wanted to thank X for, I guess, I have a limit of how many followers I can have.
Starting point is 00:18:53 I didn't know that that was actually a thing on X. Apparently it is because I cannot reach more than 49,000 followers on X or subscribers or whatever they want to call them. For the past, I don't know, six months, every time I get close to 49,000, bam, drops me back down to like 48 something. And I know I'm crying and it's just a personal thing that irks me a little bit. But I was at the other day I'm at 492. and now today, bam, 48-905.
Starting point is 00:19:29 So it knocked me back down to 48, I don't know, 90 something. So I can't get to that 49,000. So whatever, that's fine. I just want to thank X for, you know, using their algorithm to keep me below 49,000. I don't know what that does. If someone wants to, you know, point that out to me from X, let me know what that does for you or for them or for me.
Starting point is 00:19:53 you know just let me know that's all just communicate just a little bit if you like to make plans uh you know ahead of time ahead of schedule and think ahead uh like uh you know a lot of people like to plan ahead uh tomorrow land the hugely popular european electronic dance music or edm festival uh is going to stage its first ever full-fledged asia edition in thailand in december so we've got a little Well, you know, a few months to get there. But, I mean, EDM was founded, I don't know, 20 years ago by these Belgian brothers. And Tomorrowland has become one of the world's most, I mean, it's an iconic EDM celebration in Belgium every year. So organizers are going to have this at a Thai beach town, Patea, from the 11th to the 13th of December of this year.
Starting point is 00:20:45 And you can pre-register right now. Oh, no, wait, holy cow. No stop, Paul, I'm sorry. If you're listening live, today is the 7th of January, 2026. Pre-registration begins tomorrow, January 8th, January 8, 26. So, if you're listening live, you've got to wait a day. The full madness pass covering all three days of the festival, it's going to cost you about, what's it say, $12,500?
Starting point is 00:21:17 which is like $400. Oh, I'm sorry, $12,500, B-A-A-H-T, that's Thai money. So that's only like $400. A single day pass is going to be about $5,100, B-A-H-D. That's Thai money. That's almost nothing. You just got to get there.
Starting point is 00:21:37 That's all. And so that's awesome. So just be ready to, they're expanding tomorrow land to a new continent, and it's a milestone that they're excited to, to achieve so man oh man Thailand apparently has become a strong contender in live music scene and it played
Starting point is 00:21:55 international music festivals like electric daisy carnival who didn't love that and cream fields uh yeah that was great Bangkok was also a stop on k-pop band black pinks world tour last october i mean it's just Thailand is just you know wonderful and a guess Thailand also has, and I don't want to have this go on mentioned,
Starting point is 00:22:19 their home festival, music and arts festival, Wonderfruit, apparently is emerging as a hot destination on the festival circuit as well. So you've got all those things to, you know, possibly go to, especially though, the EDM festival in Pataya, Thailand, right there on the beach for three days in December. Pretty sweet, huh?
Starting point is 00:22:45 Oh, boy. Pizza chains are starting to struggle. I know. I don't know what that means. But apparently, pizzerias are losing ground in the fast food and fast casual dining
Starting point is 00:22:55 as Americans pull back on tomato pies. That's what the Wall Street Journal said. Sales growth at pizza chains have been relatively flat in the last three years, falling behind the wider fast food market. That's according to the research firm, Technomic.
Starting point is 00:23:12 I love them. They do great work. Pizzerias, went from being the second most popular type of U.S. chain restaurant in the 1990s to the sixth last year in terms of sales. Wow. That, again, is according to a technomic. And coffee shops, Mexican food joints, now outnumber pizzerias, which thinned out in the U.S. after hitting a record high in 2019.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Yeah. I mean, we were just talking about how, I think, shoot, Who was it? Was it Pizza Hut? I think it was. It was Pizza Hut. They were looking, they were trying to sell it off, right? Yum Brands.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Yeah, Yum Brands was trying to sell off, or talking about it anyway, selling off Pizza Hut because, you know what, we're trying to lose money. Oh, okay, but Domino's is making money, you know, right? And so is Papa Johns, right? I mean, maybe, I guess according to their people are ordering smaller pizzas. I don't know Just be on the lookout man Pizzas are getting smaller
Starting point is 00:24:19 And maybe that's because the prices Are going through the roof Because the last time we ordered pizza The Fisher household I feel like we ordered just the usual You know 15 large pizzas And the price was Astronomical
Starting point is 00:24:35 And I was like wait a minute We just got pizza tonight And it was still a million dollars Yes Jeff that it was Just give the man the card. Oh, okay. Steve Phelps just resigned after more than 20 years with NASCAR. Pretty incredible.
Starting point is 00:25:20 I mean, NASCAR has become a monster, and he was at the helm for a lot of it. So his resignation, though, comes after last month's trial. There apparently was an antitrust trial going on. I was not aware of the federal antitrust trial going on with NASCAR, but he had to testify. And while he was on the stand, they brought up some emails or some text exchanges that he had with his leadership team. And one of the exchanges was that he called Hall of Fame team owner Richard Childress a stupid redneck who needs to be taken out back and flogged. be careful what you text don't do it don't do it be careful what you text it's going to come back and haunt you i know he was pissed too and i don't know what other what else came out i know they're reporting
Starting point is 00:26:24 on that of taking out back and flogged and uh the johnny morris apparently who is the bass pro shop founder i guess he's a big supporter of naskar and richard children racing uh he wants him out he wrote a big letter well and then what johnny morris wants johnny morris gets and he's out after he testified though it was a nine-day trial last month boy i didn't read anything about it um phelps left the stand with his jaw clenched his face red he made no eye contact with nascar's owners as he briskly headed directly out of the courtroom his fiancee trailed after him he even refused to look at her direction he was pissed so they they hung him out to dry so maybe hanging him out to dry saves them
Starting point is 00:27:17 in this antitrust case i don't know we'll see now i got to keep an eye on nascar and speaking of rednecks that need to be taken out back and flogged nah just joking uh Netflix has expanded its partnership with the wwee to become the home of its library including replays of popular series like WrestleMania. So there you go. You're going to soon have everything you want with the WWE on Netflix. And isn't that just what we all ordered? Many of us did, yes.
Starting point is 00:27:51 All right. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Michael Reagan. Michael Reagan, son of President Ronald Reagan, dead at the age of, 80 years old. He apparently had been battling
Starting point is 00:28:10 cancer for quite some time. He was the adopted son of Ronald Reagan and his first wife, Jane Wyman. He was a columnist and a conservative media outlet news, Max. He used to do a radio show. I mean, I used to listen to Michael from time to time. I remember carrying his show a long time ago
Starting point is 00:28:26 on a Tampa station I worked at. I think that was FLA. I think that might have been WFLA. An overnight Michael Reagan show. Anyway, very sad. He his family, Michael's wife and his children, mourned their beloved husband, father, and grandpa, Michael Reagan, dead at the age of 80. Then we have Representative Doug LaMalfa from California, yes, a Republican from California,
Starting point is 00:28:56 which is very disheartening, let alone his death, has passed away. He was 65, and he was a Trump guy too, man, and he voted. And he voted with Donald Trump many times, if not all the times. So now the Republicans have a narrow margin in the House, 2018 to 2013. It gets narrower and narrower. Apparently, he experienced a medical emergency Monday night and was taken to a local hospital where he died during a surgical procedure. Ooh, that is not good.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Now, they haven't disclosed the cause of death yet. but that's at a medical emergency and then they took him to the hospital and he died during a surgical procedure probably a heart attack and they were trying to fix him up and they couldn't fix him up soon enough Republican Doug Lamalfa
Starting point is 00:29:51 congressman from California a rice farmer seven terms in the U.S. House I mean that's from California man that's sad to see that happen and it's very sad that he died at the age of 65 Doug LaMalfa dead at the age of 65. Then we have a Bellatarr. Don't look at me like you don't know who Bellatar is.
Starting point is 00:30:14 He's the Hungarian filmmaker and slow cinema pioneer. I mean, of course. How could you not know Bellatar, the Hungarian filmmaker and slow cinema pioneer, acclaimed for his dark apocalyptic films, including Damnation, and Santa Tatango is dead at the age of 70. Apparently, he was suffering from a long and serious illness. Doesn't say what it was. But the family, of course, wants to know that, you know,
Starting point is 00:30:50 they're looking for privacy during these difficult days. Yeah, we got it. So I'm not sure I was aware of Bellatar, the Hungarian filmmaker, and I most definitely, I apologize. for not knowing that he was the pioneer of slow cinema. But he made nine feature films from 1979 to 2011, so he must have been sick the last few years. Yeah, very sad.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Belitara dead at the age of 70. Rest in peace. All right, let's get out of here. I'll leave you with a joke of the day. This joke of the day was emailed to me, Chewing the Fat at blazemedia.com from John. And he wanted me to tell this show during Pat Gray's show, during Pat Unleashed, the show that I do, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:41 Monday through Friday, 6 to 8 Central, live. And, you know, I don't do the joke of the day on that show. I do do a Fat 5, which is why I do this show now, Chewing the Fat 5 that I call Fat 5 Plus, because it's just, you know, more stuff that I didn't get a chance to get to on Pat show. Plus, I like to, you know, have your, email me your jokes and do the joke the day but he said hey i want you to say this on patcho and see if
Starting point is 00:32:07 he thinks it's funny or you know how he reacts to it well first of all i'm not your trade monkey all right i'm not going to do everything you ask me to do but i will read the joke and uh and i will say that it's just mean it's just darn right mean okay and i'm going to read it because well some people think it's funny but uh and we i may have actually read it off the air to the show and we may have laughed a little, chuckled a little
Starting point is 00:32:37 about it but we didn't you know we didn't do it on the air but I'm going to do it on the air here for you this joke from John why did the little boy drop his ice cream cone I don't know
Starting point is 00:32:51 why did the little boy drop his ice cream cone because he was hit by a bus See what I mean? Yeah, just mean, just mean. Thank you.
