Starting point is 00:00:00 Blaze Radio Network. And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. Is this thing on? Is this, is this how it works? So I turn the mic on and then I talk for a little while. Man, it's been a while. So I'm just trying to figure out getting back on the bike, putting on some training wheels,
Starting point is 00:00:19 trying to figure out a little bit about what's going on, see if I've got it okay. So I turn the mic on and then I talk. And then we do a little open thing and then we have some more stories, which I do for you. and then we talk a little bit more and they play a little music and then we come back and we talk about
Starting point is 00:00:35 oh, we talk about who died today for sure because someone big also passed away today. Not that they're all not big but this one was an extra big person who died today. So this is how it's working right? Okay, the bike is moving. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:00:48 All right. So welcome. Welcome to chewing the fat. Fat 5 Plus. We talk a lot about places that are laying off employees that are firing employees that are saying they're not hiring, but I've got some gigs for you here. Well, at least several of them. We have Wendy's hiring a new position. This actually
Starting point is 00:01:34 sounds like a fun gig. Okay, so they are looking to hire a chief tasting officer. Hello, that is a good gig. You'll take on an independent contractor role with the fast food chain and a $100,000 salary. The grand prize, winner or the new CTO, get it, chief tasting officer, it's going to be hired to create promotional content for Wendy's, such as
Starting point is 00:02:02 taste testing videos. Uh, really? Yeah, that's what you're going to be doing. So you're going to be getting paid to eat Wendy's and say how good it is. Yeah, you got to the end of the month to submit your application. Uh, and the application, you know, you got to post a video and
Starting point is 00:02:18 you know, tell the, you know, the 60 second video. explaining why you need the opportunity of becoming Wendy's CTO. And you can visit the website for official content rules. But Wendy's encourages the interest to use Wendy's branding, really, with food products or a restaurant in their videos. Yeah, that's what you need to do. So you need to post it on Instagram, TikTok,
Starting point is 00:02:43 and send it to their website as well. And that'd be a good gig to get. $100,000 to travel around the country. I'm guessing just the U.S. and, you know, be the CTO for Wendy's. 100 grand. It's a pretty good gig. Then this job sounds like a fun job,
Starting point is 00:03:02 except that I'm not a huge fan of ranch dressing. That's probably my favorite dressing of all the bougie sauces that there are, but I'm still not a big fan. But Hidden Valley Ranch is hiring four, count them one, two, three, four ranch ambassadors. Grant get it, ranch basseters For a flavor quest across Europe You have until the end of the month
Starting point is 00:03:28 Get your video in It's the dream opportunity with Hidden Valley Ranch The brand is recruiting ranch Basseters Two teams of two To serve as on the ground cultural explorers First of its kind program In which ranch fans get paid to travel across Europe
Starting point is 00:03:46 For seven weeks To experience and document how America's iconic flavor ranch pairs with international dishes. Oh yeah, I bet you they will love you in Europe too. Yeah, I'd like to order your main dish, and then we're going to put ranch dressing on it. Okay. So you're going to grab your passports, and we're going to celebrate ranch.
Starting point is 00:04:10 And it's celebrating the 250th anniversary of Hidden Valley Ranch. Oh, wait. That's the same as America. the flavor of America abroad. Get it? And you're going to get paid while doing it. Now, it doesn't say, if I remember right, it's not as good of amount of money as Wendy's is paying you.
Starting point is 00:04:31 But it's an eight-week program, and you're going to do seven weeks internationally. And you're going to be paid for airfare, train travel, boarding, daily food stipend, activity stipend, etc. So they may actually ask you, I wouldn't be surprised. This would be very agonizing if they ask you to pay for it and then bill them and get your money back. Ooh, that would be, that would hurt. Compensation for approximately 40 hours of time a week. But they're going to, you got to do more than 40 hours a week if you're going to promote their product overseas, don't you? I would guess so.
Starting point is 00:05:10 You're going to visit one group of two will be London, Ireland, Iceland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Switzerland, The other two will be London, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Greece. Either one of those would be great. I'd rather go to the first group, London, Ireland, Iceland, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden. Yeah, that'd be fun. And so the content will be published across all social media. And you're going to be required to put up four short-form videos. Those are easy.
Starting point is 00:05:40 One long-form YouTube episode. Yeah. And supporting photo and video assets captured throughout the journey. Okay. So you got to be in by the end of the month. And good luck if you need the job. Then one more job I see that is happening. Meta is looking to pay Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube creators already with big followings to post on Facebook.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Please, please come back to Facebook. Please. We need you at Facebook. Okay. So Meta is offering guaranteed monthly payments and increased reach on Facebook for creators to join. The creator fast track will pay you $1,000 a month to those with at least 100,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, and $3,000 a month to those with more than a million followers. Wow, I am, I am just below that 100,000 followers on Instagram and YouTube.
Starting point is 00:06:38 And I don't have a TikTok account, so TikTok or TikTok account. So kind of screwed there. They don't want me. Meta is a, stepping up its broader push to win over creators. And it said it paid nearly $3 billion to those users in 2025, up 35% from the previous year. So if you're a big time creator and you're listening to Chewing the Fat, thank you very much. I appreciate you coming along for the ride. But, and you're not posting on Facebook. They want you.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Please. Come to Facebook. Please, please, please, please, please, pretty please. We know you're creating all this great content for Instagram and TikTok and YouTube. but pretty please, please, please, please, please, come back to Facebook, please, please. Oh, and I see that Finland has been named the happiest country in the world again. But, you know, for those of you that are looking for the Hidden Valley Ranch Tour of Europe, London, Ireland, Iceland, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Sweden, that group, you'll be going to some of the happiest countries. because the Nordic countries, according to this, including Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden also ranked in the top ten of the world's happiest countries.
Starting point is 00:07:51 But Finland was named for the ninth consecutive year, the happiest country in the world. So congratulations to them. If you're wondering who was the unhappiest country, the most unhappiest country was Afghanistan. that they've maintained their place as the world's unhappiest country. They've been probably that for a long time. But when you look at the top 10 happiest countries in the world, Iceland is number two. Then they have Israel.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Ooh, this list might be changed now. Luxembourg, Australia, Costa Rica, Austria, Belgium, Belgium, Lithuania, UAE. Ooh, that might have changed as well. So, yeah, some of these may have changed as far as once we get into these lists. But that's, you know, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Norway, Netherlands. Others are all great countries. Costa Rica, though, jumped in there at number six.
Starting point is 00:08:56 And then Israel number five, yeah, that has got to have changed right now. There's no doubt about that. And the countries that are trying to take over Afghanistan for the most unhappiest countries, Sierra Leone and Malawi in Africa. You know Malawi? M-A-L-A-W-I. Malawi. Yeah, that's what I said in Africa.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Malawi. Malawi. Yeah, I got it. Thanks. Glad to see your back and strong and ready to work. So they are above the unhappiest country in the world, Afghanistan. But not by much. Be sure to follow me on my social media at Jeffrey J-Fr on X.

And so you can hear me every day on, Pat Unleashed. I do a fat five, Monday through Friday, 6 to 8 Central, 7 to 9 Eastern on Pat Gray Unleashed. And then, of course, we do an overtime segment for Blaze TV, and we do some other specials on Blaze TV as well. Well, we've been having this battle with Stu and Dave does America,
Starting point is 00:11:23 a new show that's going to be highlighted here on Blaze TV. And we've won the battle. We have won because I would not allow Stu and Dave to have a better discount than the Pat Grant Least program with Jeff Fisher. So we are giving, if you go to, if you go to blazedtv.com slash pat,

And that gets you $45 off on annual subscription to Blaze TV. Now, again, that's a limited time. offer and today the time of this recording, the date of this recording

Starting point is 00:12:56 And then, of course, you can listen to me every Saturday, Saturday morning live, which I do on my ex account at Jeffey JFR. I do that every Saturday with Brad Stags. Now, Brad and I have been doing it for quite some time. I know he puts it up on some other platforms, and he also posted on his ex account, but most importantly, is my ex account at Jeffrey JFR.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Now, his ex account is at real Brad Staggs. So that's his ex account that you can follow. And you can, you know, you can watch him every day his little show that he does called the Mojo Daily, Daily Mojo. The Daily Mojo. Yeah, that's it.
Starting point is 00:13:37 The Daily Mojo. You can see at Dailymojo.com, The Real Daily Mojo. No, it's daily mojo.com. That's what it is. So just listen to Saturday morning live on my ex-account at Jeffey JFR. I do that specifically for Brad.
Starting point is 00:13:54 It makes him so angry when I do that. And it makes me happy knowing that I'm making him angry struggling with that. So just come along for the ride on Saturday mornings. Would you, 9 to 10 Central is the Saturday morning live show
Starting point is 00:14:12 and that of course, that's when we do it live. But you can, it stays up on X so you can go back and watch it. So you don't really have to join us live, but I'd prefer it. I mean, I'd rather that you join us live. But if you, you know, if you can't, I understand. You could
Starting point is 00:14:27 go ahead and, you know, watch and listen later. That's fine. Go ahead. But I'd rather have you, you know, listen live with us, but, you know, you don't have to. Did you see where my man Kevin Spacey walks away clean again? So three separate men have filed civil lawsuits against Spacey, who is 66 now, in London's high court, accusing him of sexual assault between 2000 and 2013. Two, of the involved claimants gave evidence during the 2023 criminal trial in London where he was acquitted of all charges. So a trial in the UK civil suits was set to come up in October of this year. But according to the court, the filings show that they have been stayed or canceled after an undisclosed settlement was reached.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Spacey has denied all wrongdoing and said the incidents alleged in the lawsuits did not happen or were consent. So he's clean. He walks away clean again. I mean, they first surfaced back in 2017 when Anthony Rapp said Sacey assaulted him at a party in 1986 when Rapp was 14 and Spacey was 27. Spacey was not liable on all counts in that civil case. I mean, that whole thing was made up. That was proven that Rapp just made it up. But that's one of the things that brought Kevin down.
Starting point is 00:16:03 I mean, it followed from 15 other people that, you know, accused him of things, many of whom had worked on House of Cards, which he starred in, which, you know, they kicked him off of. He denied all wrongdoing. He was acquitted by the London jury. And then he kicked him off House of Cards. He won two Oscars for American Beauty and the usual suspects. I love Kevin Spacey.
Starting point is 00:16:26 I love his work. The House of Cards was genius. I remember when they gave him all that money at Netflix to create this House of Cards, and we all kind of said, they're giving Spacey, and I want to say it was $110 million. Might have been even more than that. But they gave him a whole bunch of money to create this show. And it was genius, and it was great. And then, you know, with all these allegations, they kicked him to the curb.
Starting point is 00:16:49 And they paid What's Her Face the same money as they were paying him. And then that was it. It was over. Have a nice day. But so Kevin, you know, he's back. trying to perform and make some money. I guess there's a movie that he's going to star in a conspiracy thriller film titled The Awakening.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Okay, so I'm looking forward to that. I love Kevin's work, and it'll be good to see him back to work. You know, the Oscar winner, speaking of the Oscars, the Oscars did happen since we last got together. And I know that, you know, Michael B. Jordan won the best actor. And the best supporting actor was Sean Penn. He couldn't be bothered to show up. he went to Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Actress in a leading role, Jesse Buckley for Hamnet. I'm not seeing that yet. But I'll end up seeing it at some point. Actress in a supporting role. Amy Madigan for weapons. I have not seen that, although she was great in her acceptance speech.
Starting point is 00:17:45 And I don't know why I didn't know this, but she's married to Ed Harris. Another actor that I love, he's done such great work. And I didn't realize that she was, was married to Ed Harris, but, but, uh, but she is, but she is. And so congratulations to, uh, Amy Madigan for winning the Oscar and, uh, you know, being married to Ed Harris. They've been married for a long time. Uh, animated feature film was the K-pop demon hunters. And I think,
Starting point is 00:18:13 I think they just, uh, signed a deal with Netflix for a concert tour or something. I was, I just saw a brief headline. I'll let you know about what that is, but Netflix, of course, getting into the concert world. Why not? They should. The animated short film, The Girl Who Cried Pearls, have not seen it.
Starting point is 00:18:34 The best movie, I will say this, the best movie, I was surprised, but I had seen all four of them, or I had seen four of the nominations. One battle after another, I've seen.
Starting point is 00:18:48 I enjoyed the heck out of it. That was the winner. Bougonia, I've not seen. F1. I've seen it. Not really. That should not have been a winner. Frankenstein, haven't seen that yet. Hamnet, I just said I hadn't seen it. Marty Supreme. Yeah, he got into big trouble. He wasn't going to win anything after he badmouthed Broadway. The Secret Agent. Sentimental value. Sinners, I've seen train dreams. Okay, so I've seen one, two, I've seen four of the nominations. How many? I mean, let's get better.
Starting point is 00:19:15 There used to be like three or four nominations. Now there's one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, a lot, like 11, I want to go stop. All the production design and, you know, the music original score. The music original score, that went to sinners. That should. That was really good. I enjoyed sinners. And, you know, Michael B. Jordan was great.
Starting point is 00:19:37 And he played two roles in the movie. It was his movie. Congratulations to him. He definitely deserves best actor. And he had a shot at the best, at the best film. Although, you know, obviously he didn't get it. And they drew 17.9 million viewers. viewers, which not really that good.
Starting point is 00:19:56 It was 9% decreased from last year. Wow. And marking the lowest viewership since 2022. Yeah, well, a couple of years. There was really bad there. But they only drew 17.9 million. Now, at the time, the Major League Baseball Classic was on at the same time as the Oscars. And that was the game was the championship game.
Starting point is 00:20:19 And that was going to, I mean, that was like 7 or 8 million viewers on that game. that was going to have, right, that was the championship game? Or was that the game prior to the championship game? I forget. I think, no, that was the semifinal game. So Sunday night was the game up against the Oscars that America had to win to go to the championship. And they did. And that game drew seven or eight million people.
Starting point is 00:20:42 So there are some people there that would have probably watched the Oscars, maybe that are watching that, you know, that stole some numbers from the Oscars. And then USA played a couple days later, and they loved. lost the championship, which was really, really sad. Okay. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with the man himself, Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris has passed away at the age of 86. Very sad. I knew yesterday, I just felt it in my bones. when the headlines all were swirling that Chuck Norris was rushed to the hospital. He was in Hawaii.
Starting point is 00:21:40 And they said he was in Hawaii training. Who doesn't go to Hawaii to train? I wish I could do that. And then he said he was rushed to the hospital. And I had put him, this is, maybe I jinxed him, but I had put that story under my Who Died Today segment last night. I was like, no, I think, I mean, if he isn't dead by today, when I'm doing the show,
Starting point is 00:22:05 it will be, he's on death watch. And he died before, before I was talking to you today. So very sad. Rest in peace to Chuck Norse. I met the man a couple of times. Really nice, a good man. He was part of Mercury 1
Starting point is 00:22:21 and helped Mercury 1 raise some money over the years. He was really a good man. And he and his wife, both I met and at these events. And so rest in peace to Chuck Norse. And who did? He didn't watch Walker, Texas Ranger.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Hello. I mean, he was, that was where he became super famous. Yeah, sure, he was in those other kung fu movies. But Walker, Texas Ranger was the thing that pushed him over the worldwide top. So, rest in peace to Chuck Norris, dead at the age of 86. Then we have Country Joe McDonald. Country Joe McDonald, the man who fronted Country Joe and the fifth. the 1960s group became a legend because they played at Woodstock has passed away at the age of 84.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Country Joe McDonald. 60s folk rock singer legend had passed away at the age of 84. Then we have Alexander Butterfield. Alexander Butterfield. Don't look at me. Like you don't know who Alexander. Butterfield is. Alexander Butterfield is the White House aide who inadvertently hastened Richard Nixon's resignation
Starting point is 00:23:42 over the Watergate scandal when he revealed that the president had bugged the Oval Office and cabinet room routinely recorded his conversations. He just inadvertently did that. Oops. Oh, yeah. Oh, you didn't know that? I thought everyone knew that. so Richard Butterfield
Starting point is 00:24:03 dead at the age of 99 very very sad Alexander Butterfield dead at the age of 99 another thing that died is not a person
Starting point is 00:24:17 that's a thing Netflix post person said Megan is out at Netflix they're out Netflix has backed out as an investor in as ever
Starting point is 00:24:28 the lifestyle brand from Megan Markle I think they're out with, there's no podcasting, there's no nothing. I think the Netflix thing is over with. They didn't produce anything for them or very little. Netflix spokesman said Megat's passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the as-ever brand. We are glad to have played a role in bringing that vision to life,
Starting point is 00:24:56 as if it was always intended. Megan will continue growing the brand and take it on to its next chapter independently. We look forward to celebrating how she continues to bring joy to households around the world. Do you? Do you Netflix? Yeah, so the Markles are out at Netflix.
Starting point is 00:25:20 I know. I know. Very, very sad. And look, what happens to them? I don't know. I mean, they've got Archwell productions. look, are we going to let the prince fail in the U.S. with Megan? Maybe.
Starting point is 00:25:33 Maybe we let him flail. I mean, Netflix's kicking him to the curb and that means kicking him to the curb. And that doesn't look good. So maybe, you know, they'll get a deal with Apple. But they've really struggled with to release any kind of bingeable content. They just want to, you know, get paid for doing nothing. You know, kind of like the Royals. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:57 You know, kind of like that's how they live their lives for a long time. Megan, less than the prince. But for sure they got used to doing that. I did see a picture of Prince William with a never-before-seen photo of himself and Princess Diana. And I found that really interesting that was a picture of just him and mom. and mom. It wasn't with him Harry and mom.
Starting point is 00:26:31 So Harry is on the outs and has been on the outs and I thought he would be back in by now. I truly did. I thought I thought he'd kick Megan to the curb and take the kids and go back to the castle and just live the good life as the
Starting point is 00:26:47 royal that he was meant, that he was born to be. And that has not happened. But now we're starting to struggle financially, I think. You know, they're losing losing some grip in Hollywood. They've got to create some content.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Megan knows that more than anyone. She's got to create some content. She can be the queen or the princess or whatever she wants to call herself, but she's not really blood and she needs to create content. Harry, on the other hand, I mean, you just, she's, Megan's going to get money from somebody to create something on behalf of Harry because they're not going to let the prince, you know, waste away here in the U.S.
Starting point is 00:27:27 I don't think he's going to have to downsize, but, you know, if it's looking like he's going to have to downsize, he's going to be back in London. Because there's no way. There's no way dad is going to allow that to happen with the kids. They can kick Megan to the curb without thinking twice.
Starting point is 00:27:46 But Harry can come back and bend the knee. He'll never probably win William back 100%, but they'll play nice for the press. And William will be King and then we'll move on. That may actually be what happens when dad dies. So when Chuck dies
Starting point is 00:28:03 and Harry's going to have to come back for the funeral and they can reconcile enough for him to bring the kids back to Windsor and William can just say yeah you can here's a living in this place in the back 40 and you can show up
Starting point is 00:28:19 at a few events and you guys can live the good life back there and just leave me alone. That very well. That may actually happen. And then I was reading about a syndrome that I didn't know existed. It's a syndrome. It's called the Clean Levin syndrome or the Klein-L-E-I-N-E-L-E-V-I-N syndrome.
Starting point is 00:28:42 K-L-E-I-V-I-N syndrome. And it's called the Sleeping Beauty Syndrome. Wait, what? Yeah, it's a rare neurolifinaldi. disorder causing extreme hypersomnia episodes. So after a 64-day sleep, November 2011 to January 2012, this girl, Nicole Deleine, she fell asleep on a night of November and didn't wake up until January 64 days later. Wow.
Starting point is 00:29:19 So she's become an advocate. I bet she has. So apparently she was diagnosed at the allegation. Gany General Hospital, started meds to space out episodes. I don't know what kind of med is they just feed you speed and you just stay awake. I don't know. She said she now resolves to eight to spend eight to 12 years, no recent long episodes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:51 So either the medicine is way is working or. it's kind of a BS syndrome. That's what I would call it, the BS syndrome, aka the sleeping beauty syndrome. She slept for 64 days. Did she, or did she just bed rot for 64 days? And she told the boyfriend, yeah, I've, this is I found this diet. That's what I have.
Starting point is 00:30:14 I have a sleeping beauty syndrome. And I just, I had to stay in bed for 64 days. What are you going to do? I just, uh, I just had to stay there. It's a syndrome. So I need some. drugs and it's been resolved now. I feel pretty good.
Starting point is 00:30:30 It hasn't happened. Could happen at any moment though. I could fall back asleep for 60 days anytime. So I'd never heard of that syndrome before. And I feel like, well, I don't want to call Nicole a liar. I just don't necessarily believe that it's an actual syndrome. So. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:54 all right that's fine we'll just go from there we'll just say that she's not lying but there is no such thing as a sleeping beauty syndrome i just i don't believe it come on i just don't believe it but you know maybe it is who knows in today's world who knows all right let's let's get out of here i'll leave you with the joke of the day it's also just kind of a thought for the day from denny one that will make you, you know, think a little bit. Ironically, the person who invented the Ferris wheel never met the person that invented the merry-go-round. They traveled in different circles.
Starting point is 00:31:42 See, because what they were, no, you got it. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at theblaze.com slash podcasts.
