Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to the Jeff Fisher Show. Jay Severin. I'll tell you what I think about, despite my history with Mitt Romney, despite what I think of him and everything else, I will tell you honestly with my heart and soul what I think about what he did this morning in calling a national press conference to attack Trump. Jay Severin. Weekdays 3 to 5 p.m. Easter on the Blaze Radio Network. I know some of you are saying, hey, why did you just stay home?
Starting point is 00:00:38 You should have come into the studio. Well, some days you just don't feel like leaving the house. Perhaps someday I can have a lawsuit that will give me $75 million, and I will never have to leave the house. Michael Pelkin coming up live from CPAC immediately following this broadcast. And then this afternoon, Chris Salcedo, Mike Slater, and Joe Paggs all live. on the Blaze Radio Network. 888-903-33 is the phone number.
Starting point is 00:01:06 And you follow me on Twitter, Jeffie M-R-A, Facebook, Jeff Fisher Radio, and Instagram. Jeffie M-R-A. So here in Dallas, Texas, we talk a lot about the future. And what's going to happen, what you're going to be able to use, what you're going to need to survive to at least be relevant in the future. Well, one of the things that's coming is virtual reality. And I'm almost there. I'm about ready to get, I love Samsung products and the new Samsung.
Starting point is 00:01:50 There's a deal that they have now that will come with their virtual reality glasses for their phone. and I am about two seconds away from getting that. I want that in my life. But in Dallas, well, okay, sorry Arlington. Arlington, you know, the place where the Dallas Cowboys play, six flags over Texas, is launching an all-new ride. the new revolution virtual reality coaster the new revolution virtual reality coaster
Starting point is 00:02:33 welcome to the new revolution riders get headsets oh maybe at the end we hope we have some sort of disinfecting lotion we put on the headsets riders will get headsets then send them into a 360 degree virtual world synced up with the roller coaster come on now
Starting point is 00:02:54 It sounds like fun. Let's hear the promo. Experience the incredibly immersive world of virtual reality. Now for the first time on a roller coaster at 55 miles per hour. Fly high above the city in a futuristic jet fighter plane. Performed daring aerobatic maneuvers at up to 5.9 Gs, darting between buildings and excream aerial moves. Loop had over heels.
Starting point is 00:03:24 as you battle the alien forces to destroy the mothership and save the planet. Seasoned pass holders and members try to get it. We'll get it starting March 10th. Open to the public, March 26th. I mean, makes it almost worth going to six flags, because six flags has been... I want to say, I don't know if they've been struggling, but they've not...
Starting point is 00:04:00 You know, it's not really worth going there for a while. But it's right over there by the stadiums. You've got the baseball, the football stadiums, and six flags. It's right there in Arlington. So that's coming to a theme park. Coming to a theme park near you. The New Revolution. Sounds fun.
Starting point is 00:04:25 It actually sounds like it'll be a fun ride. But an example of what is coming. coming. Here's a story I've had in my show file for a while, and it ties into the virtual reality story a little bit about what we're heading for in the future, because I read a story earlier this week about how the future of the bank branch is in trouble because the millennials are not going to the bank. When's the last time you actually went to the bank? walked into the bank. I mean, it's been months for me.
Starting point is 00:05:11 And I'm trying to, it's probably been months that I've actually gone to the drive-through as well, let alone inside the bank. I can't remember how long it's been that I've gone inside a bank branch. because banking is done online, right? And you've become comfortable with it. And so the bank branches are in dire trouble. I mean, the last time I went in, actually, the last time I went in,
Starting point is 00:05:43 I do remember going in because they had cookies and they had popcorn and there was free coffee. And I was thinking, man, I mean, it was a lot of used car sale. When I buy and use cars cars? And everybody was really really. nice, said hello, talk to you, took care of you. Everybody was really nice, probably because I was the one person of the day. There were other people in there just joking. But, I mean, they're trying to at least get you in there, right? At least you say, oh, if I stop by the bank, I can have a cookie or I can have some coffee. But usually, I would say that if you're going in there,
Starting point is 00:06:30 inside the bank. You're there for whatever transaction, whatever piece of business you need. And you're not thinking, I think I'll just sit out and have a cup of coffee and maybe watch the news channel. They've got up on the screen there scrolling the headlines and drink a coffee. And yes, you know, doggone it, Bill, I will have one of those chocolate chip cookies. They look good. Kids, why don't you go get one of those free suckers? is up there by the counter. And we'll just hang out here for a while.
Starting point is 00:07:07 That doesn't happen. So get ready for that. Times, they are a changing. And one of the things that they are changing is Microsoft. We've talked a lot about robots on the show. I'm fascinated by robots. And I'm fascinated how far they've come. And really, I think we're farther along
Starting point is 00:07:30 than people actually realize. I mean, we're seeing robots now doing the work of humans, but really there are, you know, it takes a few humans to make sure they work. They actually do what they're supposed to do. But they're working now where they'll be able to program them, and it will take, you know, one human, you know, on an eight-hour shift. So, you know, the robot can work 24 hours a day, right? So you can have one human overseeing 50 robots? How many robots is going to take for you to oversee to become viable financially?
Starting point is 00:08:16 Really viable. Probably not many. Certainly not 50, and 50 would probably be a boom financially. But one of the things that we learned in one of the studies that we talked about on the show, I don't know, a year or so ago, is that people, or are comfortable, people, humans, are comfortable with robots that are perceived as robots. Right? I can have a robot into my house, and I know, if I know it's a robot, no problem. The robot can bring me stuff. The robot can turn on the lights. The robot can do whatever.
Starting point is 00:08:53 The robot can talk to me. But I'm okay with it as long as because I know it's a robot. I know it's not a human. But where people have a problem is when the robot, the robot, robot tries to pass off as human, and if they haven't developed it enough to make you think it's human, you know, and you still to this day know when they're trying to pass it off as human, it's not. Something isn't right. It's just off. You're not sure what it is. I mean, they're getting pretty good at making it so you're not sure what it is, but you know something is not right. So you're already on the defensive. You're not comfortable because you know that whatever that thing is and ain't human and something off with it.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Well, Microsoft has been conducting a touring test in China and it's gone relatively unnoticed. It's a test that looks to see if a human can detect whether the entity answering the question is a human or a computer. Right? I mean, that's the test. Now, they're doing it over the phone, over the computer. It's a thing called Shao Ice, Little Bing. And it's used by millions of people in China every day. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:29 And they talk to it, and it talks to people. If a user sends a picture of a broken ankle, Shao Ice will reply with a question asking, you know, how much pain and the injury caused. Chinese users were telling Shao Is it that they loved it. Okay? It's been used by 10 million people now, and it's been, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:10:56 it's helped with, people are saying, 25% of those people are telling it, I love you. So they are close, close to having those robots that are going to seem really human. And I don't know that, you know, I think I like it better, you know, obviously, you know, if it's, if you know it's a robot, I'm kind of on that study plan. I got you. Okay, I know it's a robot. Okay, no problem. I can do that.
Starting point is 00:11:35 I'm okay with the robot doing everything. As long as I know it's a robot. And I know the United Nations has been having a huge issue and get to worrying about, you know, robot wars and the big rich countries are making robots to put in battle. And I would venture that that is closer than we. think. Why not? Why wouldn't we do that? And don't, you know, oh, it's going to kill everybody. No. If you're going to be in the war zone, you will have something on you in you so the robot
Starting point is 00:12:21 knows. I don't have to, I'm not hurting that person. I'm not hurting that thing. Anything else? I'm taking care of. I mean, fascinating. Fascinating. And now, you know, one of the things that being talked about is what you need for the future, right? If we're looking at 30 to 50 years of at least 50% of the jobs, going away to robots, you know, every day of the mundane jobs, according to this, you're going to need, you know, three components for your kids or for that matter. cognitive skills like basic numeracy and literacy, including digital literacy, advanced problem solving, creative, critical thinking skills, social and behavioral skills like conscientiousness, grit, and openness to experience.
Starting point is 00:13:20 Technical skills, engineer, electrician, cognitive, and social, emotional skill starts in childhood, so get them started early. I'll post this story online so you have an idea of what you need to look forward to in the future. But it is, it's coming. It's coming soon. And it wouldn't, you know, do I want robot wars? No. Not even close.
Starting point is 00:13:47 Do I want robot wars? But do I want a robot, cleaning my house? So my wife and my children and I can spend more time. together rather than cleaning and cooking. Absolutely. This is the Jeff Fisher Show on the Blaze Radio Network. Here we go. This is the Jeff Fisher Show on the Blaze Radio Network.
Starting point is 00:14:28 Foxxed. I'm not personally invested in any politician. These are just people that are given the authority to do a job, and hopefully they do the job well. I'm not looking for somebody to be a savior. I'm looking for someone to be sane. I'm looking for someone to be competent to, if not make my life easier, at least stop making my life more difficult.
