Starting point is 00:00:33 Last week I talked a little bit about Hulk Hogan in his case and going to the jury. Well, the jury came back. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. And then they gave him some more cash on Monday. Right? We talked about the 125 million.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Then they came back. They gave him some more cash. And it's pretty amazing. that it happened like that. And, you know, now Hulk is, you know, he's talking about trying to get his life back and how things are shaping up, and he's just darn happy.
Starting point is 00:01:12 And here's an interview he did with Fox 411. Colgan won $140 million in his lawsuit with Gawker Media after they published his private sex tape. Hogan and his attorney in the case date at Houston, join us in the Fox. 411 studio. Welcome, gentlemen. Thank you. Thank you, Diana. So how surprised are you with the dollar amount that you were rewarded?
Starting point is 00:01:41 I really surprised. I really didn't understand it at first, you know, because I was so worried about people believing me for three and a half years. Yeah, because... ...questioned me if I was in on it or if I knew there was a camera and stuff, and when the jury finally said, you know, we believe you, there was like a verdict form, and the second question among three or four pages. The second question meant that we won and they believe me that I snorted like a three thousand pig and then I the water just come pouring out of my face and all the
Starting point is 00:02:12 other things. Yes, you know, for Mr. Belia. Yes for Mr. Belia. Yes for Mr. Belia. That all went through and I never heard the dollar amount. I don't know if I could take this whole thing. And I heard them talking. I said, what was the number? I actually had to explain it. Yeah. I didn't get it in the courtroom. I was just so overwhelmed that people believe me. Finally they know the truth that it got a lot more than you were even asking for. Well, yeah, and you have to remember, we've been fighting to get Gawker and Court for almost four years, and Gawker at every opportunity would try to squeeze out the door, and we kept saying sooner or later, sooner or later.
Starting point is 00:02:44 We did. The jury believed us, and they awarded damages. They felt appropriate. Well, the judge and Gawker tried numerous times to get you to settle an arbitration behind closed doors. Why did you want this to go to trial? Well, it wasn't the money for me, you know, because in my life, I had had a lot of money before and I was very unhappy for other reasons. It was my personal life.
Starting point is 00:03:06 But the last thing I wanted was that feeling again. And I knew that if I had done something to settle, I would be unhappy because I knew what the truth was. And I knew how it devastated me and it still makes me cower and not be the whole cook when I used to be. It still makes me cower. You know, when I leave my house and I meet people, what do they think? Did they see the tape? What do the kids think? So it really wasn't about that.
Starting point is 00:03:28 It was about this not ever happened. to anybody else because I know how it affected me. And we actually got an email the other day from a lady that said her husband had a similar situation he committed suicide. Oh, no. And this was a private citizen not deemed a public citizen. Private citizen had his private life exposed like that. And so I knew how important it was and I knew how it affected me.
Starting point is 00:03:47 And so all I wanted was to let everyone know what Gopler is all about and what they do to destroy lives. Do you think that your victory will restore your public image in some ways? Because if you look on the Internet, People are very divided. Yes, well, I hope it helps. I mean, the good part is my fans are very divided. My kids, my wife, Jennifer, the people that know me, know who I am. And the whole WW universe, the fan base, they knew who I am.
Starting point is 00:04:16 And for the people that don't know who I am, they, hopefully I can, by apologizing and be accountable, and, you know, over time, hopefully I can win those people back. How could you win them back if they don't know who you are to begin with? Anyway, you know, rumors that there may be racial comments on the tape. I told David, I said, I don't remember what happened seven years ago? Of course not. I don't know if I said it for sure, but if there is, that's not going to deter me from moving forward. As bad as that may seem.
Starting point is 00:04:41 So on top of, you know, the horrible decision I made morally at an all-time low and the woes me story that goes with it, you know, if I could make people understand, you know, that that one moment doesn't define me. Also, all those people that really don't know me, I'm not a racist. I'm not a racist Anyway congratulations to Hulk Terry Belay Congratulations Now of course Gawkers
Starting point is 00:05:12 Nick Denton will appeal I mean Gawker wants it all out there I don't care You recorded it's yours That was the big deal about Hulk getting all wound up He said a little bit late around in this interview He talked about Gawker saying that it was all open.
Starting point is 00:05:35 He didn't care. If you were any kind of, didn't matter from 4-year-old to 80-year-old. If it's on film, I'm letting it go. I'm airing it. And that's Gawkers believe. So good luck. We'll see what happens to Hawlxter.
Starting point is 00:05:53 He's the W.W.E. cut him loose. I don't know exactly when that was, but it was over some of this racist comment tapes and then he had this going on. Hulk could come back, though. He's one of their big guys. He's the main.
Starting point is 00:06:08 He's a Hulk Hogan. I mean, he'd probably sell his life story now for a lot of money. Because he's sad, I mean, his life has had a fantastic life. Coming from the mean streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. I looked at the latest list of the top 100 most dangerous places to live in the USA. Some of these cities are fascinating. I don't think St. Petersburg, Florida, made the list.
Starting point is 00:06:45 So it really isn't the mean streets. But my hometown in Michigan, the whole area, well, Saginaw, Saginaw and Flint, Michigan. So three, right? Number three, Detroit, Michigan. number seven Flint, Michigan. Number eight, Saginaw, Michigan. Three in the top ten, Michigan cities,
Starting point is 00:07:14 most dangerous places to live in the U.S. Wow. And that's amazing. Now, number one place, most dangerous place to live in America? East St. Louis. Number two, Camden, New Jersey. Number three, Detroit, Michigan. Wow, number 10 is St. Louis.
Starting point is 00:07:42 So St. Louis doesn't, East St. Louis, number one, but St. Louis is still hanging in the number 10. It's a little safer once you get into St. Louis. But second of Michigan, I was born there, man. And I remember as a kid, it was, we were like, I don't know, one of the all-time America's favorite stinking cities or whatever they called it. some something, but it, uh, per capita, murder capital of the country, per capita. I mean, that doesn't surprise me at all. They find them in the ditches in Sagina. So this is a small, small mobster town.
Starting point is 00:08:26 That's all. Don't worry about it. Coming out of Detroit. All right. So we've still got, uh, we've got a number of stories to get to. Congratulations to Hawks are. You know, we love you. Do we?
Starting point is 00:08:39 Eh. Eh. Maybe. Maybe we do. And I'll leave you with this. Let's break. My favorite headline, I think, that I saw was China likely to beat NASA back to the moon.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Now, on the surface, you think bastards we're America we should our space program and China but then really the answer is
Starting point is 00:09:24 so we've already been there have fun it's a rock in the space sky have fun this is the Jeff
