You're listening to the Jeff Fisher Show.
Welcome to it.
I'm the Blaze Radio Network and the special podcast edition of Talking Walking Dead.
Yes, with myself, Jeff Fisher, Jeffrey, just don't worry about it.
This is Jeffie's Corner.
And Aaron Hernandez.
No, not him, the other Aaron Hernandez, our very own Aaron Hernandez, the expert on Walking Dead.
I needed someone along that knows exactly what's going out in the comic book series because I'm not reading that.
Oh, wait a minute. We can't. We can't have Talking Walking Dead without...
Oh.
I got to hit the right song on my phone.
Yeah. Yeah, that's right.
We are going to be Talking Walking Dead every Monday right here.
So you'll be sure just to get...
Load that download up.
So, here we go. Talking Walking Dead, episode 509.
So, Aaron, this week, episode 509, season 5, episode 9.
A lot happened.
some pretty cool stuff
inside the show,
some pretty good stuff.
Video-wise on the show.
What's number one on your mind?
I think Noah's a jinx.
I think Noah's getting a lot of people killed.
Yeah, he is doing that.
Yeah.
But, you know, I think it goes without saying,
spoiler, but the loss of Tyrese,
I mean, that's pretty heavy.
I know.
very sad
very sad news
I thought he was going to make it
I thought he was just going to be
you know Rick's right hand band
anyway
because they you know they did
oh no
am I spoiling it saying they cut off his left arm
cut off his left arm because that's where he got bit
but it was too long it was way too long
they waited too long he was already on his way out
it was too bad yeah
I don't know how I felt about the
kind of the acid cut scenes
there with the differing characters
but I knew where they were trying to go with it,
but that was a little,
it kind of threw it off a little bit for me.
Really?
Yeah.
I kind of liked it.
I thought it was when they had the flashbacks
to the other characters who had died,
it was, you know, his hallucinations,
going in and out,
you know, looking for good, looking for bad.
I don't know, I kind of liked it.
It's pretty good.
And I also did what threw me the best about that
was that some of it was because about the time, just before they flashed back to the crowd
getting ready to cut his arm off, they, I had just tweeted, oh, did Rick get lost?
Where the heck is he?
But, you know, part of that scene was him not owning up to real live humans yet.
And then they flashed back to real humans.
I thought it was pretty cool.
I thought it was an interesting effect.
You know what, now?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I do think that it was, I get where they're going with it, but I thought it was a little much.
I think it got a little confusing.
One of my favorite things that happened during this broadcast was that we heard radio broadcast.
Yes.
I've made me think I still might have a gig.
It's kind of good.
I love that.
I'm a big fan of that.
I'm good with, listen, I'll report the zombie apocalypse, the walkers.
I don't care.
I'm good.
Just keep them out of the building.
So, and I appreciated the way, you know, now we have to, what now?
What now?
We've got the end was Tyrese, you know, in the road.
They couldn't save him.
He let himself go.
You know, that's a, you know, we had the, they buried him.
That was pretty tough.
Well, we see that they're not too far away from Washington, D.C.
Right.
So that definitely seems.
like their direction.
But also another thing that was really interesting to me was when the zombies in the town
started attacking, they had Ws carved in their foreheads.
Right.
So I wonder if that's going to play in later on in the season.
It's fascinating.
And they also had, wasn't there some sort of wolf drawings or something on the walls
outside?
I believe so.
Of the neighborhood?
Yeah, I believe so.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's a good point.
Yeah, and a lot of the zombies, too, they were cut down.
They were like, you know.
Oh, yeah, they were, that was not, that was not a regular death.
Yeah, so, so I wonder if we're going to see something, you know, coming up soon in D.C.
Well, we talk, you know, Michelle is ready to settle down.
She's had enough.
She's had enough killing.
She wants to feel safe again for a little while.
So she talked them into going to Washington, which was actually, you know, I mean, that was, that was a pretty good scene.
because she actually, you know, made it seem like she was ready to go and convinced Rick.
Let's go.
Yeah, I think she might be down the new moral compass since Tyrese has gone.
Oh, very good.
Now, we did have some comments on Twitter last night that who's going to watch the baby now that Tyrese is gone.
But, you know, they lost the babysitter for the kid.
Yeah, right?
Where are they going to go with that?
Exactly.
Rick's a busy man.
Rick's got stuff to do.
Somebody else got to watch his kid.
Carl got to step up.
That's what he's going to do.
He has to step up.
Very funny.
Maybe we leave that way.
You don't want to leave the kid with bad luck Noah.
The kid's the future.
Everybody hates Noah.
The kid's going to save us.
Now, I have not read the comic books.
I, in fact, got my first Walking Dead comic book for my birthday a couple of weeks ago.
And I haven't read it yet.
So you have, though.
I was fascinated when you told me, I read the comic book.
Like, you're just looking down on me.
Yeah, I read this guy.
A book nerd.
So, how many are there?
I mean, what is there, like an 800
Walking Dead series?
Well, the series, the comic series is still going.
It's still going.
So the storyline is pretty far advanced
where the television shows at.
So I believe we're 150 comics.
Wow.
So it's a pretty good series,
and it's pretty far ahead into
what the storyline looks like
it's following with the television show.
Pretty close.
Yeah, and so there's a lot of,
there's a lot of really good stories coming up here.
So I think the next,
the next episodes in this season are going to be really interesting.
Yes.
However, now, let me say this,
I hope,
one of my favorite things that they did this episode,
which I thought was,
I thought was actually really cool.
We saw a lot of Walker deaths in this episode,
which is really good.
And I think two times maybe three, we went to slow motion.
Yeah, that's right.
That was really cool.
I really liked that a lot.
But they were, I did read something somewhere that talked about they were concerned about
going slow motion with the CGI because so much of that show is not.
I don't want to break this to the people listening to this, but so much of the show isn't real.
You don't say.
They were concerned that, you know, showing the deaths of the walkers in slow motion and up close would ruin a little bit of the effect because of the CGI.
But I thought it was great.
Yeah, I did too.
I think they, you know, their team there, their effects team is top notch.
And I think they really know what they're doing.
I think they're really pushing the envelope here at this show.
All right.
So where do we go now?
What do we do?
Next couple episodes, do we milk the rest of this half season as going to Washington,
or do we finally maybe get some movement along?
I hope that it's not a repeat of season two.
I know.
I think that's where everybody's really concerned about.
But I think they're really going to progress it to, the storyline is going to progress
where it really pays off and that we might see a new villain, you know,
similar to the governor in that scope somebody that you know a bad guy that that big well we've got to
have a pretty much bad guy right we've had we've had the governor and then we had uh the dangleberry at the
town right the train station yeah the train station at uh and then terminus a terminus yes that terminus and now
i mean we're waiting for another bad guy right i mean we that's it yeah i think i think you know
there has to be another big bad guy.
I think also, you know, you're going to see a lot more bad people, you know,
just kind of bad people wandering on, wandering the earth.
And, you know what I mean?
Those are the, see, now those are the people that are going to make it, too, or is the bad people.
It's very sad.
Yeah, they're going to do some, I think the group is just going to go through some pretty trying times.
Oh, no.
I mean, like they haven't gone through trying times already?
I mean, if you think what they haven't gone through already isn't trying times, my gosh, this show's better pick up the pace.
Yeah, yeah.
I think you're going to see some really intense scenes coming up here.
It does make you think, at least for me, if this were actually to happen and you were put in this situation.
it does seem to be very difficult to continue your will to live.
Yeah, I think.
So it would seem to me that the bad guys are the ones that are going to continue on
because most people are like, oh, crap, I'm not going to go through this.
Just kill me.
Yeah, and I think in this episode, you see that with Tyrese, where he's just, I'm tired.
Let's go.
Let's get out of here.
I know, but I don't know that at the beginning it didn't look like he was ready to go.
Yeah, that's true.
You know, it looked like he was, I think he was ready.
But when the second Walker attacked him, not the little kid.
Yeah.
And that proves.
He's looking at those pictures, getting all melancholy about looking at the kids and pictures.
And then the kid bites him.
Shut up.
Yeah, I got a little misty eye.
I'm not going to lie.
Yeah, whatever.
But when he got attacked the second time, that's when he's,
He was like just when he let the Walker bite the same arm again, I knew that was it.
Yeah, it was done.
You're done that.
Yeah, you're done then.
He just, he didn't want to die from this walker, but he knew it was over.
Yeah.
At that point, yeah.
So next week, Walking Dead, AMC, 9 o'clock Eastern, looking forward to it.
And this broadcast, I guess we'd just call it from the Jeffie's Corner, talking walking
dead with myself and Aaron Hernandez, the expert.
I mean, I had to have somebody that knows what that.
they're talking about on the podcast, right?
So we'll see you next week, and maybe, just maybe,
we'll take some phone calls. Thanks, Aaron.
No problem.
