Welcome to Talking Walking Dead.
I am Jeff Fisher, along with Aaron Hernandez.
And yes, we will definitely delve into the latest episode and what could possibly happen in the future.
I love that music.
That's definitely, they will never be able to use that for anything else ever.
No, nothing.
It's great.
So episode in the can, we have one more to go before the winter break, right?
Two.
We got two more to go.
Two more.
Okay, two more before the winter break.
All right.
So I know that I get the whole setup episode.
I got.
However, before we get into, you know, piece by piece of the episode, because there were some really good parts.
And, you know, these episodes actually get better with time.
And by that, I mean, I watched it, and at first I'm like, oh, okay.
But as I go through the day today, I'm more and more, you know, bits and pieces.
I'm like, oh, well, you know, if they did that and they did that.
And it starts, you know, it starts filling in some blanks.
And I'm like, okay, well, the episode wasn't that bad.
But if you would have talked to me immediately after the episode, eh, okay, come on.
Had enough of the setup stuff.
Yeah, it was, it started out really, really strong for me.
And then it was like, oh, okay.
Right. We had the attack. First of all, I'd like to say that it seemed as though, and I know we were at the end of leading the refugees, I mean the herd of walkers down the highway.
It seemed that, you know, they were quite a ways away, and the walkers were still coming down the road.
You know, I mean, I thought, you know, I know we were trying to get away, but it just seemed like they were far away.
The walkers may have gotten distracted by something else.
But then we go into the city, we get attacked, and then nothing.
We don't know who it was.
We got a couple of half below the waist shots of people looking for other people.
We got one of my favorite lines.
One of my favorite lines is when they had to cut the guy's arm off.
And he goes, let's walk it off.
Walk it off.
That was great.
There's a lot of good one-liners in this episode.
Yes, there was.
Yes, there was.
It was really good.
The episode, I mean...
Loose hands, make my ass itch.
Oh, sorry.
The pacing of this episode was a little weird.
But I did like, obviously the start of it was great,
but I think they slowed down a little too much on it to set up too much.
But with that said, what I did like about the episode,
we finally got to see some Darrell.
That was great.
We did.
And then we're finally starting to develop some more with Abraham,
which is one of my favorite characters in the entire Walking Dead universe.
So it was nice to, yeah, man.
In the comic book, he's so much more of a badass.
But I don't know, I think they're building him up.
But Abraham is a really great character.
So to see him, it was nice.
Well, I mean, he's still, he's one of those.
I mean, everybody's struggling, right?
I mean, it's been a long ride, and it's, you know, they're still trying to figure out why them and just, you know, no one else being alive.
I mean, there's others alive, but why are they the ones that have been chosen to be alive?
And, you know, he's really struggled.
I mean, he was, you know, right, he was supposed to, he was ready to off himself before, you know, scientist boy came along.
Yeah, I mean.
So he's still struggling with that.
I think he's struggling with just purpose, you know.
what happened to his family was horrible.
They hinted at it, but if you look in the comic book, it's really bad.
That's why they had a hint at it in the television show.
I don't think they would be able to actually even film it and show it to people.
Really?
Yeah, it was very graphic, extremely graphic.
So I think right now he's really struggling with that.
And this whole episode with everything that involved in the military,
You could see that in his head
He was like, this is who I was, you know,
an officer in the military, I had something
And now that's all stripped away with them
So I think that's what led him to get in that predicament there
With the hanging zombie, which was awesome.
The RPG zombie.
That was so cool.
So I don't even know how they did it,
but they're getting better and better with that.
It's incredible what they're doing on this show.
It's really good.
We have a lot of different walkers this week.
We had the fire walkers
the rock walkers and the tree walkers.
I mean, it was a busy week for different types of walkers.
They were doing great work, especially the one that attacked Daryl,
was so reminiscent of a George Romero zombie from the original.
I mean, he kind of created all the zombies.
So that was really cool.
Yeah.
I just want to go off the rails just a little bit.
Look at all the different walkers that they've had this year,
and yet one not one of them was me.
Anyway, go on.
I know. They should get like a chubby walker in there one of these days.
I mean, that really wasn't that funny.
But I agree.
I mean, you don't see a lot of overweight walkers for some reason.
One thing, though, I thought was something that was interesting about this episode.
We saw the whole in Daryl's game.
We saw that his compassion can get himself.
Right. Well, we knew that right when he was talking to Rick.
When Rick said we're not going to, you know, we're not going to be.
letting other people in and he really felt like that he didn't want to do that.
Yeah, and I think.
Right?
I mean, he was still kind of wanting to add people and be part of a world.
Yeah, and I think that that cost them big on this episode.
Yeah, I did.
Although, look, I mean, right, Darrell's not going to let, once you saw the insulin, you knew he was going to go back.
There was just no way he was going to, you know, throw it into the dirt and walk away.
It just wasn't going to happen.
and that's you know that's the good thing right that's why we like him yeah he's awesome i mean i mean
he totally did the right thing uh but at the expense of him losing his bike which sucks because
i mean how iconic is that you know motorcycle now and the crossbow he's lost both his
real iconic tools i've been using for the entire series so i'll get those bad boys back
And I think he is.
I think, you know, the group that he found that basically captured him, I think it might not end well for them.
Really?
Yeah, I think this hurt him in a big way because he trusted them.
You know what I mean?
Hey, we'll bring you back.
It's okay.
You're not those people.
We need people like you because obviously you can survive.
Right.
Let's do this.
And then for them to pull the gun out on him, steal all this stuff.
I think that was the final straw for him.
So I think he's going to, I think he might change.
I think he's going to struggle with this throughout the next couple of episodes.
I think he's going to change.
And I don't think the next time somebody needs mercy, it might not be there for them, from him.
Well, I mean, he'll fit right in.
Then Rick will be happy.
Then that'll be good if it happens right when, you know, with he and Rick together.
That'll be really good because it'll be,
okay
all right you and me darrell let's go
nobody survives move on
yeah so I really think there's not going to be
a lot of mercy coming in here in the next
couple episodes so okay
so we've got the setup episode
and I don't know how I
maybe I'm getting to feel like
it's time we need to maybe
I don't know get the group back together
okay I got the whole single
episode it's a cute little thing
I got it but let's move on from that
yeah this entire season has been like three days
and right and then we saw what appeared to be another group and it didn't look like it was the wolves
you know what we don't know I think they might be the wolves and I think that everything's set up together
I think I think they're part of the group that that attacked you know Alexandria they're part
of the group that attacked Rick in the Winnebago and I think they are
trying to do a power grab right now I think they're trying to take over I think he's all one group right and
and you know we saw the the new you know whoever that was in charge of that group talk about you got to
pay for everything you got to pay for the gas we had to come out here I mean he's definitely another
governor and others you know another ruler yeah and I guess his name is Wade so oh yeah yeah yeah
that's what they kept saying Wade so this guy might be you know some bad news um so we you
honestly believe that they're wolves?
I do. I do. The way that the
group of the two girls and the guy
were talking about them, how
you know, you'll kill anybody just so you can have some food
in your belly. I think these are the
people that have been terrorizing this region
since the start of it. And
you can see how scared
the group that captured Darrell were
of these people. So you know that they're
bad news, man.
That's what made me think that I think
that we need to not be so kind to this couple and their diabetes girl who's gone now.
But, you know, the couple because it seemed to me like you were hypothesizing that they were
part of this group and they were part of the terrorizing and they were part of doing this.
But they didn't seem as though they were as far gone yet.
No, you know what?
And it just felt like, well, why are we, you know, don't worry.
These dingleberries don't need to be part of your group.
You've already got dingleberries like this back at Alexandria.
Yeah, I think that particular group has been getting taxed.
I think it's been like a street tax.
This is Sharia law.
No, I think it's like New York, like mafia street tax.
Like I think they became protected by this bigger group.
And they've been kind of just kind of, you know, just trying to survive.
you do whatever, we'll keep you alive.
Yeah, and the reason why I say that is because of, hey, you got to pay me.
What's up with this?
I drove out here.
This guy got paid.
Yeah, you had to pay for everything.
But the thing that really brought it together was they went back to the cannery where
Darrell was at where they met Morgan and they got, we remember the set up with all the zombies.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think those people set it up so they could capture people to whatever, sell to these people to do whatever.
and that way they get protected by the group.
So I think it's like a tax system.
So you give me something and then here, you're going to be okay.
We're not going to go after you guys.
That makes sense.
And then so they go back to the cannery and it's done.
And they're like, oh, no.
Because that's when it was over, right?
Yeah.
So I think they set it up.
All right.
So then we heard the, hello, help.
Not, I mean, we didn't even hear hello.
We just heard help, right, on the walkie-talkie.
Yeah.
And, you know, the speculation was that it was, it could have been,
could have been Rick.
It could have been Glenn.
I think it might be Glenn.
I think Glenn's alive.
It didn't sound like him, though.
Hmm.
I didn't get a good listen, so I'm just hopeful, man.
I want to say him, Glenn.
I am, too.
I believe he's alive.
I truly do believe he's alive.
We've gone too long now without knowing whether he's dead or alive,
and I think that that makes him alive.
Yeah, they dragged it out too long.
Yeah.
They, you know, we've been doing these single episodes.
We've got Morgan.
We've got Darrell.
Okay, all right.
When we've been back at the city,
we've had the day with the folks at the city with the attack,
the same day that we've been moving the herd along.
And, you know, we had Rick get free from the Winnebago.
We don't know how he's done.
just God.
And I'm still a little ticked about that.
I want a flashback or something because I've got to
show me how he got out of that Winnebago.
He's a ninja, dude. I'm just
right. I was supposed to just believe that?
I mean, I got it. Of course, Rick's going to be free.
No one doubts the fact that Rick
would get out of that. No one. No one.
I mean, if you're a fan, there's no way.
I still want to see how he did it is all.
You know, before he got caught up
and, you know, you're messing with the wrong group
of people. The guy, you know,
he bites the guy's neck.
You know, whatever.
I just want to see how it gets out of it.
That's all.
That's all.
Yeah, I mean, we might see it.
But we're definitely going to start seeing some action here coming up here in the next few episodes.
I have to.
My gosh.
We can't leave going to the winter break with another day with one person wandering the woods.
Yeah, we already started seeing, you know, the blood seeping through the walls.
We have enough walkers there at the gate.
I really think they're going to be coming in here.
Yeah, the walls not going to hold.
much longer. No, it's not. There's too much weight
behind it. So I think that's
going to pop off and I think you're going to see
that group
those people that shot at
Darrell, I think they're going to circle
on back. I think they're going to finish
Well, that's their goal now. They know
they've got a group in there that
they've got to take care of, right? Yeah.
And they also know that
there's plenty of goods in there that they can use
for their people. Yeah, I mean, the place
has stocked pretty well, so
I mean, it's a prime target right now.
That's why I think that that big old gas truck might come in handy.
I'm going to be a big old walker fire.
That's right.
I think we're going to see something.
Yeah.
Yeah, that'll be really good.
It's going to play a role for sure.
I'd like to see that explode.
And then so we've got two more episodes and we're looking for some action.
Anything else?
Any takeaways?
Any special takeaways?
Abraham and Sasha.
Good luck.
Right?
Yeah, well.
I know. I liked Abraham's
This Bill Cosby.
A man knows.
A man knows.
Yeah, that was...
Shut up.
Sasha was like...
Whatever, dude.
No?
No, I'm good. Thanks.
