And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher.
Congratulations are in order to the top most overweight and obese states in the United States of America.
If you're wondering if you're in the top state, well, you'll find out soon enough.
Coming in at number 10 was Oklahoma. Congratulations.
Number nine, Delaware.
Number eight, Texas.
Number seven, Kentucky.
Number six, Tennessee.
Yes, those are states in the top ten of the most obese and overweight states in the U.S.
Then we have, number five, Alabama.
Number four, Louisiana.
number three
Arkansas
number two
Mississippi you may
seem that they seem to have a lot in common
Mississippi
Arkansas Louisiana Alabama
Tennessee
Kentucky
Texas
those are SEC
country
but number one
the number one
state
of the
most overweight and obese state in the United States of America,
the great state of West Virginia.
Yes, West by God, Virginia,
the number one state for the most overweight and obese in the United States of America.
So congratulations to all.
I know you're wondering, hey, where did I rank?
Well, Michigan was 18th, Nebraska was 21st, Missouri was 23rd.
Let's go down here.
Alaska was 31st.
Just do a quick hit and run on some of these.
Minnesota was 46.
Washington, the state, was 43rd.
And the slimmest state.
Oh, well, I guess I could have done that too.
The bottom two slimest states,
number 50 was Utah, and number 51 was Colorado.
Wait.
Oh, they put District of Columbia in here.
Okay, that's how we're working that.
All right, no problem.
I got you.
I see what you're doing there.
So congratulations to West Virginia being number one on the most overweight and obese states in the U.S.
And also congratulations to Colorado for being the slimmest.
I mean, you're still overweight.
You're just, you know, the slimmest on this list.
Welcome.
Welcome to Chewing the Fat Fat 5 Plus.
Those of you listening in Japan, I'm sure you're aware, but apparently your country has deployed
military troops to the north of the country to help control bears in the area.
Apparently local authorities said they were struggling to cope with an unprecedented wave
of attacks.
Holy cow.
So soldiers from the Japanese ground self-defense force, the GSDF, love them, have been sent to the area to work along
alongside local hunters to help bring the animals under control.
What's weird about this, though, is you sent in your Japanese ground self-defense force,
but they're not allowed to use firearms.
What?
The operation is restricted to bear repellent spray only for deterrence and protection.
They will assist in setting.
box traps, conducting patrols, transporting hunters, moving captured or called bears, you know,
the ones that have been killed by someone else, and collecting information. Oh, okay, well, that's great.
Apparently, there's been a sharp uptick in bear sightings in recent weeks. Residents urged to avoid
the thick woods surrounding the settlement and stay indoors after dark to keep clear of the bears.
Okay, well, no problem.
Apparently, the prime minister, the latest prime minister, actually, she was just,
just, she said, hey, we'll decide on emergency measures to address bear related issues by the middle of the month.
We'll get to it.
But for now, we'll send some troops out there to scare them off.
Okay.
So apparently, there's been 100 bear attacks with a record 13 people killed across the country
since April.
Wow.
So two-thirds of those deaths were in the Akita Perfector
and the neighboring Iwadi Perfecture.
So those authorities are saying,
hey, we've jumped sixfold.
We need a lot of help.
There's been, holy cow.
There's more than 8,000 attacks.
They're on track to set a new record.
I would hope so.
I mean, the town's got like 30,000.
people. There's 8,000 bears. It could kill them all. It could wipe them all out. Perhaps you should
arm your military. I'm just saying. I mean, the Japanese black bears are what? 300 pounds. And then you
get into the brown bears. You're talking about 1,300 pounds, something like that. Yeah, you're going to have to
shoot, bring them down. Apparently, I guess they licensed hunters to call and capture the bears,
but then, I guess there was a law that banned hunters.
from shooting the animals.
And then they were, unless they were, that's right,
there was a law that said they couldn't shoot the animals unless they were ordered to do so
by police due to a threat to life.
So unless the police said, yeah, go ahead and kill it, you couldn't kill it.
So no wonder they're attacking everyone.
So good luck, good luck.
And I'm glad that they sent in the Japanese ground self-defense force to, you know, at least
help with the, you know, bear repellent spray and that whole, hey, get out of here.
Because that works every time. Hey, get ready to find a different Starbucks to shop at because
the unionized Starbucks baristas voted to authorize a strike, which would start on the popular
Red Cup Day. So if you're listening live today is the 7th of November 2025, Red Cup Day,
the coveted popular Red Cup Day is November 13th.
So if they don't reach a collective bargaining agreement by then,
that's when the unionized Starbucks baristas are going to strike.
I am surprised that Starbucks just doesn't close these stores down.
Oh, yeah, darn the luck.
Shoot.
Oh, man.
Yeah, you guys are going to strike.
Well, sorry, we're just going to close the store.
Sorry about that.
Okay, so the Workers United began organizing Starbucks way back in 21,
which we've talked about.
And so the Workers United has authorized an open-end to strike,
and they're preparing to strike in more than 25 cities
if it doesn't reach a collective bargaining agreement, like I said.
But they've been bargaining off and on now trying to get a deal done,
and, you know, nothing is good enough.
So the strike authorization won 92% of the votes,
according to Starbucks Workers United.
But really, that's only a small percentage of the Starbucks workers.
Okay, so Workers United began organizing in 2021, as I said.
It now represents more than 12,000 workers across more than 650 stores.
However, the company said that the union only represents workers at 550 cafes,
accounting for some store closures.
Yeah, okay.
So, I mean, Starbucks has, I don't know, 18,000 company operated in licensed stores.
So workers united stores only represent about 4% of their stores or employees.
So I just don't know why Starbucks just doesn't say,
look, here's the deal.
Go back to work or we're just going to close the store down.
I know they don't want to lose the business.
I get it.
Everybody wants, you know, has their favorite little Starbucks that they go.
go to. But if they were to close the store and say, sorry, store closed, go to this store
down the road. That's their new Starbucks. I think people would go. And perhaps Workers United
would say, no, no, don't go there. We work there before. And I know I'm all about the unions.
I get it. I get it. Don't look at me like that. I get it. But does a Starbucks barista
need to have a union behind them? I don't know if there's any place.
anymore that actually needs a union
behind them to get work done
but now I've gone and made all the Starbucks
Marista's mad at me so
sorry I hope everyone gets
exactly what they want

You will see that I do a daily Fat 5 on Pat Show and then I do this show, which I call Chewing
the Fat with Jeff Fisher, Fat 5 Plus, because I stole the plus from Apple.
Apple through their plus away, they do it in the trash for their Apple TV.
And I said, I'm taking it.
I'm taking it out of the trash.
It belongs to me now.
So I took Apple's plus sign, and it's mine now.
So it's the Fat 5 plus.
I'll try not to do the same stories on this show that I do on the regular Fat 5.
There may be some that cross over because I enjoy them too much.
But, you know, it'll be fresh stuff.
And I'll do it as often as I can.
I'm going to try to do it every day.
I know this week has been so hard.
I don't even want to talk about it.
This week has been such an unbelievable.
week for me so that I just couldn't get to the Fat 5 plus. And I know, I know, dry your eyes. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry, but I'm here now, okay? I'm here now. So it's okay. You can always order a cameo from me
at Jeffey JFR on the cameo app. That's not free, but it's worth every doggone shiny penny
you spend on it. So you could do that at Jeffey JFR on the cameo app and order a cameo from me.
You could do that. Yeah, yeah, you could do that. Okay.
One of the things that I saw this week, holy cow, something that I didn't know you needed.
Brendan Fraser and Rachel Wise are reunited for a fourth mummy film.
Now, there you go.
Tell me in your mind you're thinking, man, when does the mummy four come out?
I know, me too.
So it's coming.
and it's directed by Radio Silence duo Matt Bithinelli
Olpen and Tyler Gillett.
So we've got that to look forward to.
I'm not sure exactly when it is going to be with us.
I bet it's probably like 2028.
Yeah, they don't even know for sure.
We don't know.
And that might be, we're putting it together.
We've got to do it.
Okay.
So we've got the actors and we've got the directors and the producers and that's it.
And so they're probably still looking for some investment funds.
So we may not get the mummy four.
So I see TikTok is going to throw its own awards show.
Yay, that's what we need.
We need TikTok throwing its own award show.
December 18th at LA's Hollywood Palladium, streaming live on TikTok and Tooby.
While they're honoring the top creators across 13 categories.
One of the creators.
of the year, the video of the year,
Rising Star of the Year.
That's sponsored by Elf Cosmetics.
We have the breakthrough artist of the year,
storyteller of the year,
TikTok for Good Award,
My Show is On Award,
film and TV,
MVP of the year Sports Award,
OK Slay Award,
Fashion and Beauty,
immediately added to Cart Award,
presented by TikTok Shop,
and Cap Cut,
creator of the year and TikTok live creator of the year.
So those are the categories for the TikTok awards show happening in Hollywood on December 18th.
Man, can I not wait for that new era, new icons?
I mean, it's good that they're doing that.
I mean, Instagram has got their big awards thing now.
I thought it was going to be a whole big event and maybe it turns into one,
but they're giving away the Instagram ring.
That's what it's called the ring winners,
and you get a special ring developed and made design just for you.
And then you also get a ring on your Instagram account.
The Grace Wales Bonner, the leading voice in fashion and culture.
Is she?
To design the ring to be awarded for each winner.
You know, great, great.
This commitment to creative excellence.
Yeah, we got it.
It's going to be beautiful.
We hope rings inspires even more creativity and reminds us all to take creative chances.
Yeah, me too.
But there, you know, so you'll have a shot at that, the Instagram Ring Awards,
although I think they already gave some winners out for 2025.
So if you see an Instagram account with the, you know, with the ring in their account,
you know that they are a ring winner.
So congratulate them.
Oh, yeah, here's a long list of ring winners.
Wow.
So they did give them out already.
So just, I don't want to read everyone.
But let's do Gabriel O. Moses,
at Gabriel O. Moses,
redefining visual narratives with a blend of fashion, music, and memory.
His cinematic stories threads a line between personal history
and culture narrative.
Let's go to Gabriel's narrative and see if he has the ring
in his bio.
Is that a ring around his?
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
It doesn't look like he's got the ring.
I don't think that counts as a ring.
He looks like he's...
Oh, man, that's too bad.
That's too bad.
I don't know.
Maybe it's not there.
I looked at a couple more here and it looks like they all have...
I don't see this ring that apparently
they got or were a war.
They have the judges and everything, and they claim that they have given out these ring awards,
but I have not seen the ring, what the ring looks like.
I've seen in stories what it's supposed to look like with this ring.
It's supposed to be, you know, this award, but I don't see it on the actual Instagram account.
So it's coming.
Anyway, so congratulations to all the ring winners and the possible.
ring winners in the future.
And I see where
Dame Helen Mirren,
the British actress,
whose career spans over six decades.
Yes, she's still working today. I mean, holy cow,
she's been a lot of work in the last
four or five years. She's going to
receive the Golden Globes
Lifetime Achievement Award.
I'm surprised she hasn't received that
already. Previous recipients
include, you know, Walt Disney, Elizabeth
Taylor, Merrill Streep, Tom Hanks, yeah.
So she definitely needs to be
in that frame.
So congratulations to
Dame Helen
Miron. We have to continue to call her Dame
apparently. She's going to get the
Golden Globes.
Golden Eve Special
Cecil B. DeMille
Golden Globe Award
honors that, you know,
it's going to air it in January
of next year and it's going to be
she's a three-time Golden Globe
winner, Oscar Emmy,
Tony Award winner.
Okay, so congratulations to Dame Helen Mirren.
Okay, so wait, she's got an Oscar.
She has an EGOT?
No, she does not have an EGOT.
Yeah, she doesn't have a Grammy.
What has she done with her life?
Holy cow.
She's won all these other awards,
but she doesn't have a Grammy.
Otherwise, she'd be an EGOT winner, and she's not.
But hey, congratulations on your Golden Globe Award,
Dame Helen.
Who died today? Who died today? Well, since we last met, former Vice President Dick Cheney passed away. So dead at the age of 84, former Vice President Dick Cheney. He was, I mean, he served eight years as vice president under President George W. Bush, former president, including.
during the September 11th terror attacks.
And then he was in the swamp for a lot of years before then.
He apparently died because of complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.
Yeah.
I mean, he had like, I don't know, 80 heart attacks.
I think he even had a heart transplant.
I mean, the guy had some heart issues.
His first heart attack, I think, was like at the age of.
37. So he leaves behind his wife. And I have not seen the Liz, the daughter out and about. Maybe she's too
busy just making sure that all her ducks are in the row from Daddy's Will before we have to listen
to her wine some more. So rest in peace to Dick Cheney, former Vice President Dick Cheney dead
at the age of 84. Then we have Diane Ladd. Diane.
Ladd, the former actress, or I guess always an actress, she passed away.
And you remember Diane's one of those actresses you look at and you go, oh yeah.
She's not, oh yeah, that guy, because she was Diane Ladd.
And she died at the age of 89.
Her husband, Robert Charles Hunter, Mr. PepsiCo, he used to run Pepsi.
He died, I don't know, he was a lot younger than her.
and he died like, I don't know, a few months ago, not too very long ago.
So she didn't last long enough.
She loved him.
That happens a lot.
Her also, her daughter, Laura Dern.
You remember her?
Yeah, that's right.
Not only is she the daughter of Bruce Dern, but she is the daughter of Diane Ladd.
So she's pretty well known, as you know.
And so anyway, Diane Ladd dead at the age of 89.
Then we have a Cosby show actor Lee Weaver, who died at the age of 95 and all the tributes paid tribute.
He is one of the, oh yeah, that guy.
Hollywood actor Lee Weaver, known for his roles in films like Donnie Darko and O Brother Were Arthau.
He has passed away at the age of 95.
And you look at his film work and his work.
And when you see him, you'll go, oh, yeah, that guy.
rest in peace to Lee Weaver dead at the age of 99.
Then we have, oh, holy cow.
This is this one, this one hit hard.
Duane Roberts, the California entrepreneur credited with inventing the world's first frozen burrito,
has died at the age of 88.
Man, you hate it when a talented man like that goes to rest, don't you?
his widow said he passed away peacefully in his sleep
surrounded by family
That bugs me
I was surrounded by family
This means they were at the house I guess
They were all together
And I mean did they put him down and say
Okay good night tonight tonight you die
Maybe in California that might have been
Might have been the case
Anyway Dwayne Roberts
Credited with creating the
Frozen Burrito
What I mean who hasn't
Who hasn't been in love with that
since it was invented. I know.
So rest in peace to Dwayne Roberts, dead at the age of 88.
I guess he also rescued one of the state's grandest hotels.
I don't know that I knew that.
The mission in hotel and spa was on the brink of demolition,
and he resurrected the property's iconic Spanish mission style opulence,
modernizing hotel and comfort technology.
Yeah, I mean, California is the mission in hotel and spa.
That's a, you know, that's one of the hoity tooty places.
So he did rescue that.
So rest in peace to Duane.
Call him Duane because I feel like I know him because he created the frozen burrito.
Rest in peace to Duane Roberts dead at the age of 88.
Then, it's a long list today.
We have Donna Jean Godchow McKay.
I think it's Gotchao.
G-O-D-C-H-A-U-S.
If I'm pronouncing it wrong, I apologize.
She's the only woman to have grace the grateful deads lineup.
She has passed away at the age of 78.
She was in hospice.
Apparently she had a long struggle with cancer.
Very sad.
But she was the only woman to grace with the grateful dead.
And I was looking at her life.
And she was born in Alabama.
And she sang with the revolutionary band alongside her first husband,
Keith Gottschow, from 72 to 79.
Both went on to perform with Jerry Garcia's Jerry Garcia band.
And while Garcia performed with the couple as a member of the Keith and Donna band,
he also sang back.
She sang backup vocals for Elvis, Percy Sledge, Cher, Neil Diamond.
So she's had quite a life.
So rest in peace to the only woman to be a part of the Grateful Dead's lineup,
Donna Jean Godschau McKay, dead at the age of 78.
All right, then let's wrap it up with the Dallas Cowboys, Marshawn Neeland, who is dead,
passed away at the age of 24, and he didn't pass away.
He committed suicide, and it's just such a sad thing.
You know, I really don't, we've talked about this so many times on this show and others,
how suicide touches everyone, and when you're considering suicide,
you feel like the world is going to be a better place without you in it.
And it's not.
It just isn't.
It just isn't.
And if you need help, call 988.
That's the lifeline.
It's a lifeline.
It will help you.
It will at least get a little help.
And, you know, perhaps it will save you.
Because whenever you're thinking that the world is a better place without you in it,
you're wrong.
It just isn't.
And Marshaun was,
it's a really strange story
he was being chased by police, crashed his car,
got away,
they couldn't find him,
and then they went to his house,
he wasn't there,
and then they searched for him a little bit more,
they couldn't find him,
and then they got a call
from one of the houses that they had already been to
was either his girlfriends or his parents' house,
and they all got a group text of him saying goodbye,
we were concerned about him because he had a gun.
And so the police widened their search,
and they ended up finding him
at some construction site or some site where there was a porta potty
and he went in the porta potty and that's where he killed himself.
It's just so sad.
The guy is 24 years old and through all,
through our eyes,
we're watching this guy's living the life, right?
The dream.
He's playing in the National Football League.
He's got family.
He's got girlfriends.
He's making a little money.
He grew up in Michigan.
He grew up in, you know,
southwest Michigan down there by Grand Rapids
and I think a place called
He felt Wyoming and he went to Western Michigan,
and then now he's playing in the NFL.
I mean, that's what you dream of.
And it just wasn't good enough
because he felt the world was a better place without him in it.
And again, he's wrong.
So if you feel that way, please just dial 988
and they will talk to you.
Or I guess if you live in North Korea,
apparently Kim Jong-un has banned suicides.
So it's fixed.
Kim Jong-un, the leader, the great leader,
of North Korea has fixed it.
He's just banned suicide.
Oh, okay.
So he has labeled suicide.
I'm sorry, he didn't really ban it.
He just said he's labeling it an act of treason against socialism.
Oh, the order came in response to a reported surge in suicides
with South Korean intelligence estimating the rise of about 40% compared to the previous year.
Ooh, things are not going well in North Korea.
and so more recently the regime has escalated the policy by imposing the death penalty on anyone who attempts suicide and fails.
So if you try to kill yourself and you fail, we're going to kill you anyway.
And I'm probably going to torture you because I'm pissed off.
So maybe if we just do that here, it'll all be fixed, right?
Right.
All right.
Don't forget, if you're listening live, today is Friday the 7th of November 2025.
So that means tomorrow's Saturday.
And you can listen to Saturday morning live with myself and Brad Staggs on my ex-account at Jeffrey JFR.
It happens at 9 a.m. Central.
And it is, it's live on Saturday morning.
Ha, that's why we call it Saturday morning live.
Now, Brad puts it up on his ex-account, which is, I think, at real Brad Staggs.
But really he only need to care about my ex-account at Jeffrey JFR.
And he puts it up on some other platforms too, I think.
And you can hear him every day at the Dailymojo.com.
Pretty sure that's it.
The Daily Mojo.
It's Monday through Friday sometime in the morning.
I think it's 7 to 9 a.m.
You can hear Brad there.
He can tell you tomorrow on Saturday morning live
when you're watching and listening on my ex account at Jeffie JFR.
All right, let's get out of here.
I'll give you the joke of the day,
and we'll call it a day,
and we'll be ready for some college football tomorrow.
Okay?
All right, because I know I am.
This from Kelly, who emailed chewing the fat at the blaze.com.
Kelly said when I was a kid in school,
taking a biology class,
they asked us to rearrange the letters,
P-N-E-I-S, into a vital body part,
that is most useful when erect.
Those that answered with spine, S-B-I-N-E, went on to become doctors.
The rest of us listened to Chew in the Fat with Jeff Fisher.
And thank you, and you're welcome.
Because see what she was saying, the letters, P-N, I know you got it.
