Blaze Radio Network And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. If you or someone you love or someone you care about and know, planning on visiting Austin, Texas, be sure to keep your head on a swivel. At least 12 bodies have been recovered from the Central Texas Lake,
Starting point is 00:00:55 the Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas, in the last 22 months. Okay. So, and we just found two this month. Now, it is the 18th of April, 24, if you're listening live. So in this month alone, two people have been found unidentified people. And three this year in 2024, all unidentified. At least, I mean the last three were unidentified.
Starting point is 00:01:24 One was an unidentified female. And the last two, this month are unidentified persons. So is there a serial killer in Austin? We've talked about this before. The police say they're conducting investigations, and they've repeatedly denied any notion of a serial killer. So, okay.
Starting point is 00:01:50 All right. I'm just saying that if I were living in Austin or visiting Austin and going out to an area surrounding Lady Bird Lake, which I do and have before in my life and probably plan on doing it in the future, I will be on the lookout because you don't want to just run into somebody on accident and then, hey, want to go for a walk?
Starting point is 00:02:19 I mean, they might not even ask. You just end up going on a walk. Anyway, if you're going to Austin, I realize that the police are. saying, look, there's no serial killer, but we've only found, I don't know, 12 bodies in the last 22 months at Lady Bird Lake. What is happening? Is it a coincidence? Sure. If you say so, that's what it is. Welcome. Welcome to Chewing the Fat. So I've told you that soon the skies will be dark with drones and that is happening and it is happening faster than I actually thought
Starting point is 00:03:04 it would but it's happening here in my neck of the woods here in DFW. So Walmart and Wing aviation have partnered to deliver from two specific Walmart locations in DFW from a North Richland Hills City which is part of DFW. The city council approved that these two locations can deliver from drones from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. And the new delivery service will be available to anyone within four miles of either store, including customers in neighboring cities because there's other municipalities within those, that four mile radius. The drones can carry up to 2.3 pounds designed for over-the-counter meds, movie night snacks, or an ingredient you realize you missed at the last
Starting point is 00:03:54 minute. Oh gosh. They also provide services in a couple other DFW cities, Friscoe and Little Elm, and Lewisville. Just amazing. I mean, it's happening fast. It's happening fast. We're going to be able to and have it drop on your front door. It's going to be incredible. Now, they're already practicing, and they already gave the rights for them to practice
Starting point is 00:04:18 and go from the stores to this park in the area, and they'll practice the deliveries through there. When you go to the wing drone. delivery website. It talks about getting groceries delivered in as little as 30 minutes. They claim to have had 350,000 deliveries to date. And, you know, you have to just check to see if you're eligible when you email. So you can make your order on the app and then state you want a drone delivery. So your order is packaged with care. Of course, it's package with care. And secure it on the aircraft. Then the best route is chose.
Starting point is 00:04:58 and it's ready to fly. And then you have the app so you're able to see. This is the same kind of thing we talked about with Wendy's using drones for delivery as well. He has to follow the app. So you look at the wing aircraft to get the notification, and then the aircraft gently lowers your order down on its tether, unclips the item for you,
Starting point is 00:05:19 and it waits until the package is fully unloaded, and then, you know, well, you have to wait. That's what it says, yeah, you have to see. Wait until the package is fully unloaded. Yeah, don't be grabbing it. All right, wait till it on hooks from the drone. It's just amazing. I love it, but the skies are going to be dark with drones.
Starting point is 00:05:42 I don't know how they're going to do it. I mean, the air traffic with the drones and the airlines and the rescue helicopters and the news helicopters. I mean, it's going to be a nightmare. And I want to know who is driving the drones. So I call, I load up on the app And I order my toothpaste from the Walmart And I want to click drone
Starting point is 00:06:04 And I want it delivered to my home Yes, we can bring it to your home I just click delivery And then they have, you know Joni at the store Grab my toothpaste, put it in the drone box And then I guess those Walmarts have drones at the store I don't know how many drones are being provided
Starting point is 00:06:21 For each store And you go outside, you hook it up to the drone And then there's got to be programmer there's got to be someone flying the drone where is that person is it at the walmart is it at wing drone delivery headquarters in uh someplace i'm not aware of and that they are flying the drones in our neck of the woods to be delivered it's fascinating to me i i'm going to have to reach out to wing i want to know how they are all flying these drones and what some of the parameters are because for city councils to say oh yeah sure of course of course we'll we're going to know a
Starting point is 00:06:56 landings spots and of course you can deliver in our cities that would be great how much money are you going to give the cities for that yes of course you can and where i guess they live at the walmart the drones live at the wall i i don't know i want to know i want to know more i'm going to have to reach out to wing but for sure this also brings into play what i talked about i don't know years ago is that if you're remodeling your home or you're buying a new home or you're building a new home which i know that's not happening good luck and bless your heart if you're you're you are. But you should build a drone delivery shoot on your roof so that the drone isn't just dropping stuff off in your backyard or your front yard or your driveway. It should be able to just
Starting point is 00:07:39 fly over your house. You have your address on the top of your house with, I don't know, maybe you put your own QR code on your roof. Everybody has their own QR code. And the drone flies over and goes, boop, yep, that's the house. And it drops it down into the shoot. And it just comes right into your home. That has to happen. That has to happen. Plus, this is really close to where I live in DFW. In fact, when we first moved to Texas, I lived in North Richland Hills. So I am looking forward to driving around and seeing the drones flying and making deliveries. It would be fascinating to me. I can't wait. And if Walmart needs a place to, you know, store the drones or park them overnight or whatever, I have a backyard
Starting point is 00:08:24 that I'm willing to lease two-wing drone delivery service and Walmart. They can park their drones right in my backyard. I know. I'm just saying, you're welcome. And to be honest, if I were in charge of the United States Postal Service,
Starting point is 00:08:40 this would be a plan that I would use to help expand the mail service and that drones could be parked and you could use the postal service buildings as a hub in the municipalities that you're delivering from. So just a thought.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Just a thought. I'm here to help. I'd be interested to know how much of an increase your house is worth if you are in a drone delivery area. And if you have, holy cow, if I am trying to sell my house and I have a drone delivery shoot on it. Does the QR code, is that just mine for the address or is that mine that I travel with at all times? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:29 You know, if you're trying to buy or sell a home, you know, that's one of the questions you can ask because I don't have an answer for you. But you know who does? Real estate agents I trust. Yeah, they do. Because buying and selling a house is an undertaking that can turn into a nightmare unless you know exactly what you're doing. and almost nothing about getting a house ready to put on the market or buying is easy unless you're doing it the right way. And negotiating a sale when you're wanting to buy, it's not as straightforward as it sounds.
Starting point is 00:10:04 You're going to want the best real estate agents you can get. And that's where real estate agents I trust come in. I mean, the name really says it all. Duh, real estate agents I trust. So make your life easier. if you're trying to buy or sell a home and go to real estate agents. I trust.com. It's a company that Glenn started years ago when he couldn't sell a house that took forever.
Starting point is 00:10:30 He went through all kinds of terrible real estate agents and he had a terrible time. And he thought to himself, you know, if I'm having an issue, I bet everyone is. And they were and are. And so what this is a free service that hooks you up with a real estate agent in your area or the area that you're trying to buy in, and they will help you out. They pair you with the top sellers in the area, the people who really know the ropes of the business
Starting point is 00:10:56 because they do it full time and they care about getting it right. So go to real estateagents.itrust.com. Real estate agents, I trust.com. And take a little bit of the headache away from buying or selling a house. Use real estate agents. I trust.com.
Starting point is 00:11:16 With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too. That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. So I see that Boston Dynamics is putting their robot Atlas away. They're done with it. It's over. We're not using it anymore. Yeah, those internet flips and dancing.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Yeah. it's fine, but we've got the robot evolution coming, and we're going to go ahead and replace the Atlas robot. Wait what? Yeah. The new Atlas will be able to lift stuff too heavy for most humans and the previous hydraulic version of Atlas. It also bends in a way no human can. I mean, the videos are incredible. It's knees twivel backwards, and the torso can do a 360-degree rotation. Some would be a little scared when they see these robots. So they're going to use them for rescue missions. Uh-huh. But now they use them for warehouse work and they can help you around the house. I want one. I know I'm supposed to be scared of them, but I'm going to need somebody to go out and pick up my drone
Starting point is 00:12:51 deliveries if I don't have a drone shoot in my home. So just go get it. I want the cleaning. I can do the dishes, all of it, I want the robot to take care of it for me. Sure they could turn on me at any moment and it would be over. But until then, my house will be clean, my dishes will be clean, and I'll have more time to spend with you. So they're going to start testing the new Atlas in its parent company's Hyundai's factories next year. And one will become commercially available with plans to roll out the bot to other manufacturers
Starting point is 00:13:25 in the next few years. So I'm sure, you know, Amazon and BMW and all, I mean, even here, you know, Ford and General Motors, they've got to be investing in other humanoid robots, right? For warehouse tasks, have to. You have to save money. And restaurants, I mean, you're going to be served by robots very soon when the restaurants cannot provide the amount of cash, $20 or more an hour for the servers. So the robots are coming. the robots are coming. And I want one.
Starting point is 00:14:00 I want one. And speaking of, you know, robots and AI, I see where Tesla shareholders are going to be asked again to re-up Elon Musk's pay package. You know, the one that the judge said, oh, that's too much. Sure, the company shareholders said it was okay, but that $56 billion compensation package is just too much. Oh, okay. So there's another annual meeting.
Starting point is 00:14:27 June 13th and they're going to have to reinstate Musk's compensation package. We'll see if that reaches its $56 billion mark again. I know we've had some issues with the value of Tesla slipping a little bit due to competition. But, you know, Elon needs to get paid. I mean, it's his company. It's his idea. And the company is still doing great. So we'll see how it happens.
Starting point is 00:14:55 And he also, Elon. That hasn't happened yet either. He wants to shareholders to Greenlight the move to Texas from Delaware. He wants to kick Delaware to the curb, especially after that Delaware judge told him that, oh, that's too much money.
Starting point is 00:15:11 That's too much money. Forget that. I know, I'm a big believer in capitalism, but that's just too much money. Oh, oh. Oh, okay. Well, thanks for that. All right, let's go to the break room.
Starting point is 00:15:24 I need something cold to drink desperately. Be sure to follow me on my social media accounts at Jeffie JFR on X. Jeff Fisher Radio on Instagram and Facebook. You can follow me on my YouTube channel, Chewing the Fat at theblaze.com. No, that's the email address. Chewing the fat at the blaze.com. That's email. YouTube is Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Duh. Hey, there's a new world record. Congratulations to 500. hundred dancers outside the famous Plaza Hotel in New York City as they break the world record for the most dancers on point at the same time. The dancers come from many of the U.S. states and countries around the world, so congratulations to all the dancers, 500 of them, who are the most ballerinas on point at the same time. I guess that is a new Guinness World Record.
Starting point is 00:16:32 I love it. I've wanted a world record for quite some time. So congratulations to anyone, in particular today, the 500 ballerinas. I mean, there'll be something that they can have for the rest of their life, right? They're all young. It looks like they're all young girls who, I don't know if there's any guys, which probably is an issue, but it looks like all young girls, and they all have their little numbers on their ballerina.
Starting point is 00:16:58 outfits. So I was number 125. I was number 26. I was number 500. I was number one. It'll be, you know, something that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. So good for them. So we talked about it that it was in the works, but apparently it is a done deal now. Travis Kelsey, the NFL tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, Super Bowl champion, boyfriend, probably soon to be hubby to Taylor Swift, is now going to host, Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? Which is good for him.
Starting point is 00:17:34 It's going to air on Prime Video. There was no data on when it was going to start, but each game will feature an adult contestant who will call on a classroom full of celebrities to help them answer 11 questions on a range of subjects pulled from elementary school curriculum in the pursuit of a $100,000 prize. They're not competing against the start,
Starting point is 00:17:55 they're enlisting for their help. At some cases, they can even cheat off of them. And on the final question worth $100,000, the contestant selects one celebrity to discuss the answer with before locking in. The questions are sixth grade level. So, according to Travis, I grew up loving game shows. Yeah, I mean, who didn't, actually? And I'm excited to be following on the footsteps of so many TV icons
Starting point is 00:18:21 by hosting my very first, are you smarter than a celebrity? The original show, are you smarter than a fifth grader? So we'll see how that goes. Congratulations. We'll see if that works out well for Travis and for Prime Video. Will I watch it? I'll probably watch the first episode,
Starting point is 00:18:41 just to get a gist of whether it's worthy enough to watch or not. But have fun. Have fun. And those of you that think that soap operas are a dying breed, Think again, because there's a new one coming. It's going to be called Gates. I'm sorry, the Gates. And it's supposed to arrive in January of next year.
Starting point is 00:19:06 The CBS is opening The Gates. The Paramount Global Backed Broadcast Network has handed out a formal series order to The Gates, which is the first black daytime soap opera in 35 years. So the official series comes a month. after CBS announced it was teaming with the NAACP to develop the gates with the news marking a show of confidence in the script.
Starting point is 00:19:31 So congratulations. I guess the showrunner worked on the bold and the beautiful and general hospital. Those still exist? I mean, I guess we still have the young and the restless, bold and the beautiful and general
Starting point is 00:19:47 hospital, oh, and days of our lives. But those have gone from NBC to Peacock, all right, the last few years. They're not making the money that they used to. Gotta watch your stories, man. Gotta watch your stories. Now they did have, this is the first, again, this is just the first black daytime soap opera in 35 years.
Starting point is 00:20:10 Because there was the one back in 1989, which was reported as the black daytime themed soap opera called Generations. I don't know. How long did generations last? I lasted for two years. So it was huge. I don't even remember it from 1989 to 1991. So it was a half-hour cereal promoted as a first fully integrated daytime soap. And it was focused on the relationship between two days.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Chicago families, the Whitmore's, and the Marshals. So, anyway, now this is the first one. It's coming, starting in January, The Gates. Well, I thought Empire was a black soap opera, too. Was that not considered a soap opera? That was just considered a show with all black families and relationships intertwined in the show Empire, or do we just kind of forget about that? Because that's the show that What's his face came from?
Starting point is 00:21:23 Jesse Smollett. Remember, he was actor on Empire. That's what started the whole thing. He wanted more money because he thought Empire wasn't paying him enough money. So are we supposed to forget about that show now? Okay, never mind. Never happened. Oh, and wow.
Starting point is 00:21:38 I see where Sundance Film Festival is looking for a new home. I think they're just, they just want more money, right? I mean, they've got a deal with Park City, Utah through 2027. But the reports are they're going to look for a new. Home, are they? Yes. We'll go any place where they give us a lot of money. I mean, this film festival
Starting point is 00:22:01 has been in Park City, Utah, since 1978. And they've got at least two more years on their contract. It's going to stay there. I mean, Park City, that's where it belongs. Park City is where Sundance Film Festival originated. That's where it's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:22:16 They, I've already said, we're motivated by our commitment to ensure that the festival continues to thrive, culturally, operationally, and financially, as it has for four decades. But hey, if we could get ourselves another city to give us more money, absolutely. I mean, we love Park City, Utah and all. But sure, it's in our DNA. And we, man, we are all about Park City, Utah.
Starting point is 00:22:45 But this other city over here is going to pay us a lot more money. So talk to you later. We'll see what happens. Oh, no, I was going to put this in Who Died Today, but it ties in with the story about the Gates, the CBS soap opera. The Talk, the TV show, The Talk, has not been renewed for the end of the year. It's over December, 2024, goodbye. Does anybody even watch The Talk anymore?
Starting point is 00:23:15 When I saw the headline, just a moment ago, I thought, well, I wonder if that's because of the Gates. Yes, that's exactly what it is. Yeah, they said, yeah, the talk, yeah, we've got a new deal with the gates, and the talk is going to have to go. Have a nice day. And nobody even watches it anymore. It's been on the air for 14 years. Wow.
Starting point is 00:23:41 That's incredible with that show's been out that long. And, I mean, all the originals are long gone from that show because it started with, what's your face? from Roseanne, Sarah Gilbert, right? That was her deal. That was her show. And then that's where Sharon Osborne was on and got in trouble with the on-air conversation about race and everything for the talk with Cheryl Underwood. I think who may even still be on the stupid show. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:10 But the talk, no more. Sorry, rest in peace. It's not in Who Died Today. It should be. But it's moving out of the way for the first black. soap opera day i'm sorry first black daytime soap opera and 35 years the gate i was looking at the list of people who are on the talk now and i don't even okay so the hosts are akbar beaababababab am i know that that is not how you pronounce that man's name okay so g-b-a-j-a-b-a-m-l-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-hbar
Starting point is 00:24:51 I mean, of course, the G has probably got to be silent. So it's Akbar Baja Bia Amelia. Akbar Baja Bia Amelia. There you go. You know them. You love him. Amanda Clutes, Natalie Morales,
Starting point is 00:25:03 Jerry O'Connell, and Sherry Underwood. Executive producer, showrunner, Rob Crabb, he's out of a gig. So, and all the crew and production team. So, I mean, no wonder they're being canceled. Nobody knows who they are. I'm sure that Akbar, Bajababia.
Starting point is 00:25:21 B-A-G-B-A-J-A, B-A-M-I-L-A, Akbar Baja Jababil, you know. I'm sure he's great, but you have to find a new gig, my friend. Sorry about it. When I got a great deal on a great gift at winners, I started wondering, could I get fabulous gifts for everyone on my list? Like this designer fragrance for my daughter. It's just $39.99?
Starting point is 00:26:00 How could I resist? This luxurious will throw for my sister. This gold watch for my partner? A wooden puzzle for my niece? Leather gloves for my boss? Ooh, European chocolate for the crossing guard? At these prices, could I find something for everyone at winners? Stop wondering. Start gifting.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Winners find fabulous for less. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Samantha Davis. Founder of Little People UK, wife of actor Warwick Davis, has passed away. at the age of 53.
Starting point is 00:26:36 They met on the set of Willow in 1988. I mean, they've been in the Harry Potter movies. You would know her if you saw her. They are little people family. They actually had children. I know, they bred. And the picture of the family, that's incredible.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Anyway, she passed away. And we're just finding out about it now. She died in March. And we're just finding out about it now? Holy cow. So according to the statement, you know, her passing has left a huge hole in our family's lives. And I miss her hugs. And rest in peace, Samantha Davis.
Starting point is 00:27:13 She founded Little People UK. And I guess she founded with her husband. Little People, UK, dedicated to supporting individuals with dwarfism. So if you or someone you love is struggling or, you know, you don't struggle, but, you know, has dwarfism. and you want to you want to be part of a group you can't become part of this group unless you're part of the UK because the group is named
Starting point is 00:27:40 Little People UK They probably might let you in I don't know you can call and ask You can email and ask You can check in text them on the app I guess if they have Little People app I know Just stop it
Starting point is 00:27:55 It's not funny at all It's sad Apparently she doesn't know No look at me like that She didn't die of that She died of septus because I guess she had multiple surgeries. She had some relief physical issues, very sad. And so I guess after one of her latest surgeries, she developed sepsis, which is not good.
Starting point is 00:28:15 You could quote me on that. It is not good. You do not want sepsis. And so after one of her, she had decompression surgery on her spine and then contracted sepsis. You don't know what sepsis is? Well, it's a condition in which the body, responds improperly to an infection. The infection fighting process turn on the body, causing the organs to work poorly.
Starting point is 00:28:41 And it may progress into septic shock. This is a dramatic drop in blood pressure that could damage the lungs, kidney, liver, and other organs. And when the damage is severe, it leads to death. Rest in peace. Samantha Davis, dead at the age of 53. Then we have Hall of Fame baseball manager Whitey Herzog, dead at the age of 92. Whitey was an incredible manager. I mean, they used to play Whitey ball back in the day when he was a manager.
Starting point is 00:29:17 You can't play that kind of ball today. No. Don't be talking about Whitey ball in today's world. But back then, that's what they called it. He was a great manager. And here's one of his famous quotes. was that baseball's been very good to him since he quit trying to play it. As a player, he was okay.
Starting point is 00:29:41 He talked about the first time he tried out for the Yankees, and that's when some guy by the name of Mickey Mantle was trying out as well, so he never, you know, wasn't much of it. And then, you know, he was just an incredible manager for St. Louis and went into the Hall of Fame. And when he went into the Hall of Fame, he was also, he was inducted, alongside an umpire. A guy by the name of Doug Harvey.
Starting point is 00:30:05 But Herzog said in his speech, I don't know why he should get in. Doug kicked me out of more games than any other empire. There was no cause of death given, though. And I know Whitey was 92. I know. But I'm just saying, well, if it was that, they would have said something.
Starting point is 00:30:26 So I'm sure it wasn't that. He survived by his wife of 7. 71 years. Wow. Children. No, one, two, three. Deborah, David, Jim, three, three kids, spouses, nine grandchildren,
Starting point is 00:30:39 ten great-grandchildren, Whitey Herzog, dead at the age of 92. And then speaking to baseball, we have Carl Erskine. Carl Erskine dead at the age of 97. I know what you're thinking. If it was that, they would have said something.
Starting point is 00:30:57 According to the story, he contracted pneumonia and passed away. So if it was anything to do with that, they probably would have said something. This guy was awesome. He was an all-star right-hand pitcher, five World Series, member of the Brooklyn Dodgers, through multiple no-hitters, started in the first Major League Baseball game hosted in Los Angeles. I mean, the guy was awesome. So he has passed away.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Carl Erskine, obviously Hall of Fame member, has passed away. Rest in peace at the age of 19. Oh wow. And then we have a former Albany defensive lineman NFL hopeful A.J. Simon, dead at the age of 25. Now, there was no cause of death listed. So, I mean, if it was that, they probably would have said something. So right, you're either looking at an overdose, suicide, a murder, obviously, you know, horrible accidents. or that. But if it was that, they would have already announced it. So it couldn't be that.
Starting point is 00:32:07 Rest in peace. Very sad. A.J. Simon, 25-year-old young man, dead. Oh, and I know that O.J. Simpson, you know, still dead. He died last week at the age of 76. Very sad. But his body was cremated yesterday. For those of you listening live, today is Thursday.
Starting point is 00:32:25 The 18th of April, 24, as I said earlier in the show. So Wednesday. The 17th, he was cremated. His lawyer said, look, there were unspecified other people there. I'm not going to tell you who was there. It was a cremation service at the Palm mortuary in downtown Las Vegas. And I'm not, you know, the ashes are going to go to the kids to do with as they please, according to the wishes of their father.
Starting point is 00:32:56 So, rest in peace, OJ. again. I guess Simpson's family gave a hard no to scientists asking to study the former running back's brain to see if the ex suffered from chronic... Oh yeah, from CTE. That would have been a good thing. He could have helped. But no.
Starting point is 00:33:15 No. We'd like to study your dad's brain for a CTE. Nope. Sorry. We want that body gone. Okay. It might not have been a bad thing to let... let the docs take a look at that, but it's up to them and they did not do it.
Starting point is 00:33:34 So we have that. Then we have Al Cowlings and his crew are looking to sell the Bronco that they drove down the interstate in Los Angeles with O.J. in the back. Now, O.J. I guess, had a Bronco, but this is not O.J.'s Bronco. This is the Bronco that belonged to Al Cowling. And that was the Bronco that they wrote in, that you see all the pictures in. and everything. And I guess they tried to sell it or they received an offer back in the 90s for $750,000 and now they want to get, well, you know, more than a million. I don't know that they
Starting point is 00:34:10 get it. I mean, maybe in today's world they do. I don't know. I don't know that they get it. I think, you know, I don't know. It's been sitting in a, it was parked in a garage for years. And then the guy who had it said that he brought it home to the house and the wife was like, no I get that out of here so then it moved to the museum the Alcatraz East in Tennessee and they signed the lease agreement for an undisclosed sum so they made a little money and it's at the museum and there were other cars there the Bonnie and Clyde car
Starting point is 00:34:46 the John Dilliger Clare the Ted Bundy Volkswagen Beetle I mean kind of cool kind of a cool place they've got the Clark Gables car Steve McQueen's cars have sold for a lot of money in the last few years. So we'll see if the Bronco makes any money. I will be interested to see if it makes a million dollars for the Bronco. Because I feel like in today's world, it just won't. But everybody spent it all kinds of money.

That is awesome. So, man, do I want a world record? That's why, you know, these world records just keep popping up in my timeline because it knows we're just rubbing it in my face now. So this Canadian lady has a world record for donating the most blood forever, I guess.
Starting point is 00:36:29 She's currently, she's been donating since she was 22. She's donated 209 pints. and she claims that she does not have any intentions of stopping. She started, as I said, back in, well, when she was 22 back in 1965. She is now, you know, earned the Guinness World Records title for the most blood donated by a female. Now, she's done, that was when she's at 203, so she's already, she's at 209. I don't know anybody's going to catch up with her. So she is 81 now.
Starting point is 00:37:06 she has O plus blood. That comprises 38% of the population in the United States. They love O plus. It's the most sought after for hospitals and health facilities. I have not given a lot of blood. I've given blood for a couple of surgeries that I was going to have. You know, in case they needed blood transfusions during the surgery, I gave blood before the surgery.
Starting point is 00:37:33 You know what? Use mine. Now, would they? don't know. Would they lie to me? Are you sure? If it was an emergency, yeah, we couldn't find your blood. It was emergency. It was either you were going to die or we were going to use some blood we found
Starting point is 00:37:46 in a bucket. And you'd be thanking them for using the blood in the bucket. I know. But I believed that I was going to donate blood and if I got into trouble in the surgery, they would use my blood instead of someone else's. But it's the only time I really donated blood.
Starting point is 00:38:02 I know my blood type, although I will say I don't really know my blood type. I always have to ask my wife. She always remembers. That's her job. So it's good that she continues to do it. But it's not oh positive. So congratulations to the 80. How old is she again?
Starting point is 00:38:27 81, 81 year old Josephine McCulloch of Alberta, Canada for being the world record holder for the most units of blood donated in a lifetime. And she's still going. That record is still climbing. And I will say it's important to donate blood because we need it. All the hospitals need, everybody needs blood. So, I mean, if you are able to donate your blood, go ahead and donate it. I'm a, I mean, no one supports, look, I have not supported the blood donor program yet on
Starting point is 00:39:01 chewing the fat. So I can't say that no one supports it more. yet, but if you could donate blood, do so. I don't know if this is a world record or if they just claim it and we're just supposed to believe it, but construction on the world's largest wildlife crossing, I guess, is going to come to an end next year. It started in 2022. So in Los Angeles County, 101 freeway, which nobody travels on that. It's just like an off-side shoot road.
Starting point is 00:39:33 Uh-huh. It's being closed now, weekdays, forever, because they're making the world's largest wildlife crossing. And the crossing is going to span 10 lanes of highway and aim to provide safe passage for wildlife, especially mountain lions, from the Santa Monica Mountains into the semi-hills of the Santa Susanna Mountain Range. And the California Department of Transportation began constructing this crossing, and now the project is nearing, completion and the bridge is going to be covered in soil and native plants to blend in with natural surroundings. I'm sure if I was driving on the 101, I would just be get done. Okay, I don't care what you're building. Just get it done. Stop closing the interstate. That's all I care about. So this particular wildlife crossing will serve as a global model for urban wildlife conservation. Good for them.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Good for them. Just get it done. Why are we taking forever? Just get it done. I know, look, according to the foundation that's, you know, helping with all of this, they claim that we can coexist side by side with all kinds of wild. Instead of paving it over and choking it off. And it's about bringing more attention to an ingenious solution to urban wildlife and ecosystems.
Starting point is 00:41:01 like this one can not only survive but thrive. We've already created something called a zoo. And if we're trying to live in harmony with coyotes, bobcats, deer, snakes, lizards, toads, and even ants. But Cougars will be among its chief beneficiaries according to the National Park Service. But we have already created something where we do live in harmony with the animals. It's called zoos. So get
Starting point is 00:41:35 the construction done. Okay? Stop messing with the flow of traffic. All right, I'm out here. I'll leave you with thought for the day from the 2010 movie Robin Hood, which I love. What a
Starting point is 00:41:51 great movie. With Russell Crow as Robin Hood. That's awesome. And I've got some issues. There's a few lines in that movie that drive me insane. every time I watch it, but the overall movie I enjoy the heck out of. And then in the beginning, this is what I want you to remember, okay? And just know that when you see me post this on any of my social media accounts, I'm watching the movie.
Starting point is 00:42:16 In times of tyranny and injustice, when law oppresses the people, the outlaw takes his place in history. Think about it. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at the blaze. com slash podcasts.
