Starting point is 00:00:00 Boarding for Flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes. Ugh, what? Sounds like Ojo time. Play Ojo? Great idea. Feel the fun with all the latest slots in live casino games and with no wagering requirements. What you win is yours to keep groovy. Hey, I won! Boating will begin when passenger fisher is done celebrating.
Starting point is 00:00:22 19 plus Ontario only. Please play responsibly. Concerned by your gambling or that if someone close, you call 18665330 or visit Comexontera.com. Blaze Radio Network And now, Chewing the Fat with Jeff Fisher. We have a brand new city in the United States of America, Texas, to be exact. The place where Elon Musk and SpaceX launches their rockets from that was lovingly known as Starbase is now officially a city. Starbase, Texas. There were 283 eligible voters to vote.
Starting point is 00:01:00 vote and only 218 of them voted. Seems, I don't know, I feel like it should be more than that, but okay, so 218 people voted. 212 of those votes were in favor versus six that were opposed to making it a city. Okay, really weird. The new city is about 1.6 square miles, and it's, you know, I mean, 283 eligible voters, so 283 people live there. And Elon is not the mayor. There were three people that ran unopposed for a mayor and two commissioners. And if the city was voted to become a city, then they would automatically be voted as mayor and commissioners. So you have this Robert Bobby Peden is the mayor of space, of Star Base. And then you have Jenna Petra Zekalka, P-E-T-R-Z-E-L-K-A is a commissioner.
Starting point is 00:02:01 And we have Jordan Bus is a commissioner. And they all work for SpaceX. So congratulations to the newest city of the United States of America and the newest city in Texas, Starbase, Texas. Yes, the vote was successful. I wonder if Elon has already started planning on what he's going to name his new city on Mars. when he gets there. There has to be some kind of organization going on to make sure that Mars is, you know, part of a working planet. So he's got to have that ready to go, right? So are we going to
Starting point is 00:02:39 call the city X on Mars? Because that would be, you know, X marks the spot, that kind of thing. Yeah, we'll see. Welcome. Welcome to Chewing the Fat. So if you don't use cash and you pay people through the payment app, Zell, apparently it's coming back online now. Beginning Friday, they started to have downtime. And so if you were making any payments to anyone through Zell, there may have been a problem. The down detector said that customers reported payment problem starting Friday morning. And then, you know, throughout the weekend, they were trying to get this. this thing back up and running again.
Starting point is 00:03:30 A Zell spokesman confirmed the trouble in a statement and said that the problem involved payment giant FISA, which provides services to some banks. It wasn't us. We didn't have anything to do with it. So a spokesman for FISERB said that, yeah, we experienced an internal issue. It temporarily disrupted their service. The issue, we've resolved it. And we're working to process the backlog.
Starting point is 00:03:55 So if you paid someone through Zell and they didn't get the money, that's why. So the outage, of course, was not the result of malicious activities. So don't even think that they were hacked. They're working to prevent a similar problem in the future, but it was not malicious activity. They were not hacked. Okay. So we're working with our partners to resolve the matter.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Oh, okay. So if you see your transactions marked as payment. pending, yeah, it could be that you had some kind of an issue. So we don't know which banks were impacted. We just know that many people were impacted. So if you pay any kind of bills with Zell, just know that when you see that payment pending, you probably were involved in this downtime for Zell. So good luck. God bless. And just remember they were not hacked. This was an internal thing. And we're working on it. for you, okay? All right. Okay, coming to a convenience store near you soon. In New York,
Starting point is 00:05:05 they call them bodegas. And we found out that the city is going to spend $1.6 million to put panic buttons in hundreds of bodegas after a string of, you know, recent violent incidents. And the mayor announced that, hey, up to 500 of these devices will be installed. in stores in hot spot crime areas throughout the five boroughs in the coming weeks. The members of the United Bodega Association, love them. Their press conference, they were there for the mayor's press conference outside of this Pamela Green Delhi in the Bronx. The buttons will connect directly to the NYPD Central Command Center because 911, I guess,
Starting point is 00:05:53 is not fast enough. So they're hoping that this will reduce response times. Oh. Okay. We'll see if that actually works. The delis receiving the buttons will be installed by the company Silent Shield. Good deal for them. They won't, they're not going to tell you which delis get the panic button, no.
Starting point is 00:06:16 No one knows who would actually have the device or not. That adds to the element of surprise that they're looking for. Bodegas are important. And what this is going to do is add an extra layer of safety, he said. Number one, for those who actually have the panic buttons and the direct communication to the police. But second, the element of surprise. Okay. Well, in the report, they talk about how when they have called 911,
Starting point is 00:06:42 the response time was between 10 and 15 minutes, which, man, in a, and if you're in the middle of a crime, that is a lifetime, man. Wow. So if they can up that to, you know, I don't know how long their response time is going to be once you hit the panic button at your bodega, are the police supposed to be automatically just drop in through the ceiling? I hope so. I hope it works. That's special. And that will be coming.
Starting point is 00:07:15 I believe there will be plenty of other places around America that will work with Silent Shield to incorporate. these panic buttons with the local authorities. Now they said that they had hooked up some of these panic buttons in a pilot program earlier this year where they installed 50 panic buttons in these bodegas in designated high crime areas with the tech company's safer watch. And apparently using those particular panic buttons, the response times were still, I don't know, not good. Poor. And they blame it on the poor integration between the Safer Watch and the police headquarters.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Okay. And what about, you know, the other places that have, you know, trains and taxis and, you know, they're going to have panic buttons as well? I don't know. We do provide 911. And so if it helps, great. I hope that it does. I hope that it does. I hope that it doesn't. and I hope that no one gets robbed and there's no crime, and New York can be the safest city on the planet with panic buttons installed everywhere, but we'll see how that works out. But these panic buttons, you can bet, with these companies like Silent Shield and Safe Watch,
Starting point is 00:08:39 I'm sorry, safer watch, they will be installed in working with your local municipalities to have the police departments on hand. Whether they're part of the United Bodega Association, or not. I mean, I'm sure UBA comes first. Let's be honest. With Amex Platinum,
Starting point is 00:09:11 $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too. That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. Let's say you want to move to a new city. Let's say a state that you live in has a new city in it, and you're thinking about moving there.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Well, you should get a hold of real estate agents. I trust.com. Look, any time that you have to make a big change, it's going to be hard. And that's especially true if you're planning on buying or selling a home. It's complicated. It takes a lot of time, a lot of jumping through hoops. And there are a lot of stakes at hand, including financially. And that's where you need a real estate agent to help you with all of this.
Starting point is 00:09:55 And one that does it full time and is the best at what they do. Real estate agents I trust. Real estate agents I trust pairs you with the top selling real estate agent in your area, someone who knows the best practices, someone who understands the crazy housing market, someone who's a team leader and a closer, someone you can trust. Hello, real estate agents, I trust. So if you're thinking about buying or selling a home or both, you need to get in touch with them. Real estate agents, I trust.com.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Real estate agents I trust. pretty much says it all, doesn't it? Go to real estate agents.com. It's a free service. We just pair you with the best real estate agent in that area and you two do the rest. And you skip off into the sunset with everybody making the best deal possible. Real estate agents I trust.com. Real estate agents I trust.com. Congratulations to sovereignty for winning the 2025 Kentucky Dirtyshire B, yes, the fastest two minutes in sports or whatever. Sovereignty won it in two minutes and 2.31 seconds. Congratulations to sovereignty.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Then there was journalism and Bayezzo was the top three. Final Gambit and Owen Almighty. Owen Almighty was the long shot at 39 to 1 came in fifth place. So sovereignty takes home $3.1 million. Journalism, second place. gets a million. Baezza gets $500,000. Final Gambit gets $250,000.
Starting point is 00:11:38 And Oh, and Almighty gets $150,000. So congratulations to all involved at the Kentucky Derby. It was raining and it was muddy. And it was just a, you know, congratulations. It was fun. Yeah, look, I mean, I like watching it, no problem. But so apparently with the 3.1 million purse, the trainer gets 310. 10,000, 10%.
Starting point is 00:12:04 The jockey, Jose Alvarado, gets 10% as well, 310,000. Wow. Second and third place jockeys only get 50 and 25,000. Nothing. Minimum payday for a jockey and the derby is 500. So even if you're running last with mud kicking up in your face, you at least get 500 bucks. Wow, that is not much at all.
Starting point is 00:12:25 But congratulations to that. So we have the Kentucky Derby winner, sovereignty. So then we have the Preakness, coming up on the 17th of this month, and then we have the Belmont, June 7th. So if Sovereignty wins those three, obviously, he'll be the triple crown winner. But I saw an headline somewhere over the weekend that talked about sovereignty may not run in the preakness. So we may not have a triple crown winner this year. Boy, wouldn't that be a bummer.
Starting point is 00:12:55 I tuned in kind of late to the Derby this year, and I don't, for whatever reason, I just looked down and I was like, oh, crap, it's like I'm, 12 minutes away. It's 5.50 central time. So it started at 602. And so I went over there. And I saw the, you know, old Kentucky home song and everything. I don't know if they aired the national anthem or not on network television on NBC because I got there late. So they certainly, in the time I watched it, they did not air it. And she took a beating for her for her national anthem being, what's the word I'm looking for? Oh yeah, not good. She stretched it out, made it extra long. It was the reviews on the National Anthem from Grace Potter was terrible. So good for you, Grace. At least you got made a little news with the National Anthem. And I didn't hear it, though, so, you know, I don't want to judge too much.
Starting point is 00:13:53 And I don't want to play it because, you know, I'll take your word for it, that it was terrible. Okay, I'll just take your word for it. The other thing, since we won't have a triple crown this year, That puts Secretariat, you know, monstrous horse forever. I wanted to watch it this weekend. I never did. Never did get around to it to watch, you know, Secretariat, moving like a tremendous machine.
Starting point is 00:14:17 What a great movie. And I found out this weekend that every horse in this race Saturday had, were descendants of Secretariat. That is incredible. That's how strong and what a monster that horse was, man. Secretariat record times, triple crown. His legacy of greatness is, oh, never be, it'll never be matched. Records were made to be broken, Jeff, never say never.
Starting point is 00:14:44 Okay, so maybe, I mean, it's been what, 50 years since, since Secretariat set all the records and broke all the records, it became a Triple Crown winner and made his mark on history 50 years, and even his descendants can't keep up. Yeah, so maybe, okay, maybe. maybe there'll be another horse out there that can match secretariat. I doubt it. Another thing that happened over the weekend is Lady Gaga put on her free show in Rio de Janeiro
Starting point is 00:15:17 on the Copacabana Beach. We talked a little bit about that when we talked about her tour getting started. And it was the big free deal. Yeah, it now is the highest attended concert in history. Of course, they have to. do it by a female artist. Oh, okay, so who is actually the highest attended concert then? Okay, so Madonna held the record previously before Gaga,
Starting point is 00:15:45 and so, you know, congratulations to Madonna, but Gaga now holds the record of, you know, 2.5 million little monsters. Oh, get it. Anyway, Madonna held the record at 1.6 million before Gaga's over 2 million. but the actual biggest concert crowd ever, according to Guinness, is Rod Stewart, where he had a record drawing crowd. 3.5 million people to see Rod Stewart at the Rio Beach in 1994. So calm down, Gaga and Madonna.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Rod Stewart. I know you're the record holder for the highest attended concert in history by a female artist, but you still are number two behind demand. You know, they hate that so much. They said that they were going to bring in, I don't know, they wanted to do this free concert. I don't know if Gaga got paid for it. I guess she did.
Starting point is 00:16:51 Maybe she just charged for what it costs to get there, you know, because they're going to film everything, and it will be part of, you know, the Gaga documentary world tour. But they said that, the officials were looking to bring in like $100 million to the local economy. Yeah, probably did that. And Brazil's Ministry of Justice and Public Security, love him, said, or whoever does that particular job, released a statement saying that authorities thwarted a plot from a larger extremist network to infiltrate the concert, detonate improvised explosive devices,
Starting point is 00:17:30 and gain notoriety online. Wow. Gaga said she learned about this from the media when everyone else did, so they didn't even tell her. Wow. Okay. That would have been terrible. So if that's, in fact, true, good. Good work to Brazil's Ministry of Justice and Public Security. Whoever he, she, they, them are. Good work. All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cool to drink desperately. Well, tonight's the night. For those of you listening live, today is May 5th, 2025. Is this Cinco de Mayo? I think it is. So happy Cinco de Mayo or whatever. Ariba, ariba.
Starting point is 00:18:25 So have fun and be safe. Today, tonight is the Met Gala. Well, I mean, today it's been going on all weekend long. People have been partying all night getting ready for the Met Gala. that's happening tonight. Don't forget the Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Whitwintour is organized the gala since the 1990s. She has co-chairs this year of Coleman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, ASAP Rocky, Farrell Williams, and LeBron James served as the honorary co-chair.
Starting point is 00:18:54 About 450 of the most hoity-toits around the country in pulp culture and entertainment are expected to attend. They've already raised like 31 million, which is, I think, a record for the Met. So congratulations to them. This year, we're going to focus the costume institutes corresponding spring collection, super fine, tailoring black style. The collection is inspired by Monica L. Miller's 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion, the history of black dandyism and the rise of black fashion. So we've got that to look forward to coming out of the mechala tonight. I may have to post a few of the...

Starting point is 00:21:51 I did watch a couple of shows. I've been so, there's been some really great shows. Mobland on Paramount Plus is so good. And I did end up watching this weekend. It dropped on Net with Tom Hardy, who is in Mobland, a show called Havoc on Netflix, and it's just a shoot-em-up, a lot of violent scenes, some great, some great shoot-out scenes in the movie. And I knew going in that it was going to be Tom Hardy walking away with, you know, 80 bullets in him, and he'll be the last one standing. He and his partner were the last one standing.
Starting point is 00:22:26 Of course. That's just the way those movies work. and Tom Hardy can pull that roll off in a heartbeat. He is so good at that. I will say I watched hacks on HBO. I love hacks, but I want to say I am not happy with this new season and how the two main characters aren't getting along. I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Gene Spart plays Deborah Vance, and Hannah N. Biner plays Ava Daniels. I don't like it when they get it. I don't like it when Mom. and dad are fighting. And okay? And they're fighting during this whole season. And I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:23:07 They better make up quick, okay? Something has to happen that they make up with each other because it's not fun, okay? It's just not fun. And I do miss the one character that was her do-boy, for a lack of a better term, he probably would not be happy to be called the do-boy. Carl Clemens Hopkins, who played Marcus, loved him. He was awesome, and he's still kind of in the show, but not one of the co-stars, and I wish he would come back because I liked him a lot. Anyway, just make them stop fighting, okay?
Starting point is 00:23:43 I know the season is all done, and you better have made them stop fighting, because I don't like it with mom and dad are fighting, okay? Then I watched the season finale of NCIS Origins. I really like NCIS Origins, and maybe that's because Gibbs does the narrative. of it. Yes, I know it's Mark Harmon, but I like, you know, his character Gibbs is all of it and he isn't on the show NCIS any longer. They still refer to him. He's a big
Starting point is 00:24:11 part of it, but NCIS, the original show, has not been the same since Gibbs left. I mean, I end up still watching it. My wife and I watch it as one of our shows but it has not been the same since Gibbs. NCIS origins, I really like a lot. And of course
Starting point is 00:24:27 Mark Harmon narrates NCIS origins. Another thing about, anyway, back to NCIS origins, which really kind of bumped me out this season finale. I believe that they killed off one of the special agent agents that works with Leroy Jethro Gibbs. This is the beginning of the Gibbs. There's Austin Stowell plays Leroy Jethro Gibbs in his early on in his career when it was just wasn't NCIS. It was just NCS. And her, one of the other special agents of this Mariel Molino,
Starting point is 00:25:01 which goes by, you know, he tells the story of her, and that's who she plays, Special Agent, Alela Domenquez. She, it looks like she died in the final episode. I was really bummed. She was a great character on that show. Now, the way the show works is she has to die. I was reading a couple of things where they talked about
Starting point is 00:25:24 it's possible that they bring her back, or, you know, maybe she's in a coma for a little while, and then she dies. I don't know. But it's not going to, it does, everybody is expendable and, you know, she dies. I was just really bummed that she did. And it's a spoiler for you and you haven't seen it. I know.
Starting point is 00:25:41 Sorry. And then I watched the show 911. Okay. So there are people in my life that watch the show religiously. My wife, my daughter, my daughter-in-law, all love 911. I watch it from time to time. I'm aware of the characters. So a couple of weeks ago when I hear, you know, my wife and my daughter,
Starting point is 00:26:01 and my daughter-in-law are all texting because Bobby died and everybody's all wound up. That's Peter Krause. And then I see all the interviews that Peter has left 911 and he was on, the show's been around,
Starting point is 00:26:13 I don't know how many seasons. It's been a long time now. And so he was one of their main characters and killing him off was a big deal. So I had to watch the funeral of Bobby. And I watched that episode. And Angela Bassett was his wife in 9-1-1 or his,
Starting point is 00:26:31 his wife, I guess, since he's dead now, she's, you know, single again, which is good because she looked great. I am a fan of Angela Bassett, and she looked great in her funeral attire. Is that wrong of me? It is? Okay, well, oh, well, then never mind. And it's got Jennifer Love Hewitt in it, which, you know, whatever. But I will say that Jennifer Love Hewitt has made a fortune just being able to just cry.
Starting point is 00:27:00 And that's how she makes her money. So good for her. All she has to do is show up, look at the camera, you know, shed a tear well up every now and then, and she makes her money. So good for Jennifer Love Hewitt. And I've been keeping up to date with your friends and neighbors on Apple TV with John Hamm,
Starting point is 00:27:17 which has been really a fun ride to watch through that show as well. I did learn this weekend that the Equalizer with Queen Latifah has been canceled. That show lasted a lot longer than it probably should have. It was on for five seasons. And they canceled. Remember, we just talked about how they were going to have the spin-off with Titus Welliver, Bosch, and that was canceled as well.
Starting point is 00:27:42 We're not doing any of it. And they canceled FBI International and FBI Most Wanted. It's about time. Those shows were around way longer than they should have been. They lost their top character, FBI International and FBI Most Wanted, and they went with the second-tier guy, and it never was the same. so sorry. And the Equalizer was never the same
Starting point is 00:28:03 when they shipped off Chris Knoth after he got in trouble and they didn't want him on the show any longer. So I'm out of the first season was okay. It was okay. It was okay. So I guess we're going to have there's a new
Starting point is 00:28:17 entry into the FBI franchise. I guess. And then there's a new spinoff from Fire Country called Sheriff Country. and then there's a spinoff from Blue Bloods called Boston Blue, which we'll see how that goes. I mean, we've got shows like Tracker and NCIS that are still going to be on, but, you know, those are a couple of shows that are going away.
Starting point is 00:28:45 Okay, so if you're an Equalizer fan, it's going away. It's been canceled. And FBI International and FBI Most Wanted, they really were stretching hard on it. I stopped watching them. I still have them DVR. and I feel like I'm going to go back and, you know, catch them. The regular FBI was, okay.
Starting point is 00:29:06 I like watching the FBI, the FBI's, because of the technology that they use on TV, which makes me think that we are well behind what's actually being used. But that's the only reason that I watch it. And I've stopped watching, especially international and most wanted. It got really carried away. The regular FBI at Mago. back to and catch a couple episodes on that, but we'll see. It's hockey season, and you can get anything you need delivered with Uber Eats.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Well, almost, almost anything. So no, you can't get a nice rank on Uber Eats. But iced tea, ice cream, or just plain old ice? Yes, we deliver those. Goaltenders, no, but chicken tenders, yes. Because those are groceries, and we deliver those too. Along with your favorite restaurant food, alcohol, and other everyday essentials. Uber eats now. Starting point is 00:31:48 blazTV.com slash jeffy. Blaz TV, it's unfiltered, unafraid, and on demand. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Charles Charlie Scali's Jr. dead at the age of 84. You will remember him as, you will remember him as, the football coach and the Sopranos. He played Tony Sopranos football coach in the dream sequences. And you think, oh yeah. And he also played Thomas Horseface Pacoza on the wire.
Starting point is 00:32:26 But he was in so many other TV shows. When you see him, you'll go, oh, yeah, him. I mean, he was in, obviously, law and order, homicide life on the street, law and order SVU, cold case, Wow, he's in a lot of stuff. Plus, he was, I didn't realize this, he was in 12 Monkeys with Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Interesting. I don't remember him being in that movie, but apparently he was the impatient traveler in that movie. So when you see 12 Monkeys and you see the impatient traveler, you know, that was Charles Charlie Scali's Jr. I think that's how you pronounce his last name, S-C-A-L-E-S. So I hope that is because he was,
Starting point is 00:33:11 born in South Philadelphia, and that's where my father-in-law was raised. And those are some, that is the mean streets. He was raised above his dad's pool hall. That's where he lived. I wouldn't be surprised if my father-in-law actually knows him because he was raised in South Philly as well. And those were actually the mean streets. So apparently he had Alzheimer's real bad, and he was really struggling for quite a little while. So very sad. So very sad. rest in peace to Charles Charlie Scali's Jr. dead at the age of 84. Then it has come to my attention that I apparently have three years left
Starting point is 00:33:55 before I am in my own who died today. So this was sent to me on X. It said, you know, Jeffie and his support AI Dubot is not going to end very well. Oh no, that's very sad. Someone created a newspaper article from the Daily dated Monday, July 10th, 2028. So I have a little over three years to live. And the article is, well, it cuts it says Dubot suspected in Fischer's,
Starting point is 00:34:28 and you're just assuming that it says death. A beloved Blaze TV and radio host Jeff Jeffie Fisher found smothered and unresponsive, allegedly at the hand of his AI Dubot. Nobody supported do-bots more than the perennial postmaster general and NFL commissioner candidate. Following the tragic incident, truckers across the nation will blast their horns and ceremoniously tarp their loads in solidarity this coming CTF Wednesdays. That is so nice. First of all, I'd like to thank the truckers of America, the lifeblood of America. No one supports truckers more than this show or myself.
Starting point is 00:35:05 I would like to thank them for blasting their horns, you know, after. after I was smothered by my Dubot by Dewey. I mean, I hope that doesn't happen, but apparently, you know, the future has been foretold. And it's nice. It's nice. So maybe on Friday, July, is that the actual, is July 10th an actual Monday in 2028?
Starting point is 00:35:30 Let's see, shall we? Yes, it is. It is actually a Monday. July 10th, 2028 is a Monday. So maybe on that Friday, the 7th, of July, you know, coming off the big 4th of July holiday. Oh, the 4th is on a Tuesday. So, man, nobody would be working that week at all. So Friday the 7th, maybe I'll do my own Who died today, a preview of who died today of myself. I don't like to hear that. I don't
Starting point is 00:35:59 like to hear that at all. But that's what the future is being reported as. So rest in peace, dude, Jeff Jeffie Fisher dead No age was given by the way in this report and no age will be given in the actual report whether Dewey smothered me or not
Starting point is 00:36:20 another thing that is not dead yet but it will be soon Six Flags America in Maryland said it's going to be closing down this fall. Wow. Okay so the amusement park and water park will shut down November 2nd following the 2025 season.
Starting point is 00:36:42 So get it in. If you're going to go, get it in. So the 500-acre park will be sold for redevelopment as a company moves to optimize its portfolio. Oh, isn't that special. We've determined that Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor are not a strategic fit with the company's long-term growth plan. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:37:03 Well, thank you, Six Flags president, and CEO Richard Zimmerman. He said the company expects there'll be strong interest in the property. Pretty sure he already knows that that would be the case. So I'm pretty sure he's worked out a deal already. They will announce, I don't know, the afternoon of November 2nd or, you know, November 3rd right away. That's for sure. That deal is probably already done.
Starting point is 00:37:28 So according to the corporation, Maryland's Six Flag Abug Union's Park employees about 70 people full-time. Severance and other benefits will be provided to. impacted workers. That's nice. So the park has 40 rides and water slides. Apparently, it is the first certified autism center park that happened in 2022, which makes it more accessible for those with physical and mental disabilities. It also served as a mass COVID-19 vaccination site during the pandemic. Well, that's special. More than 339,000 vaccinations were administered, at the site before it closed in 2021. Oh, that is special.
Starting point is 00:38:10 So what are they going to do with all the rides? I mean, I don't know. They originally said, I guess we just tear it down, or do we ship those to other six flag parks? Do you want to be riding? What did I do with that screw? Ah, never mind. Oh, it'll be fine.
Starting point is 00:38:28 Don't worry about it. Do we move those rides to other six flags? Do we sell them to other theme parks and have them? show up as you'd be riding rides from Six Flags Maryland. And they say, this is a relic from Six Flags, Maryland. And go ahead and hop on and give her a tour. Okay, fine, whatever.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Or we just tear it down, I'm guessing. Okay, fine. So rest and peace to Six Flags, Maryland in November of this year. That's when it will die. And now, you know, we're talking about U.S. cases have surpassed 900. And that's a pretty low number in my mind.
Starting point is 00:40:00 But, you know, it's still a total of 935 cases have been confirmed in 29 states. You know, Alaska, Arkansas, California, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington. So if you heard your state, there's measles. And at least six states, I guess, are reporting outbreaks, meaning three or more related cases. And I kind of scoffed at it. And, you know, it's measles. And, you know, everybody used to get measles.
Starting point is 00:40:41 used to move on. I don't remember if I ever had them, to be honest. I think I did. I don't know. I was given a vaccine for everything. Whenever the school said, well, it's a vaccine day, my mom signed me up. And so you'd stand in line and get the shot and do whatever he had to do, physicals, whatever it was, you stood in line, did what they told you to do. And so I'm pretty I mean, I remember getting a couple of big shots, but I don't know if it was for the measles. I remember, I don't know, I got chicken pox or whatever. It probably was for the measles, because they, you know, we've pretty much eliminated measles from our world. And, I mean, they declared it completely eliminated in the year 2000.
Starting point is 00:41:22 And now because, and that was because of a highly effective vaccination program. Well, you know, you know how everybody feels about vaccinations these days. Yeah. And so now it's starting to make a comeback. And I've kind of scoffed at, you know, it not being important. Well, I got an email from Helen, who sent an email to, chewing the fat at the blaze.com. And like I said, I see them all. I may not respond to them, but I do see them all. And Helen told me that back in the 80s, I worked in a large residential
Starting point is 00:41:50 institution for severely, really seriously, severely, developmentally disabled people. Among the young adults were several who were there due to their mothers contracting measles while they were pregnant. They were all around the same age due to an epidemic of measles. These young adults were deaf, blind, and cognitively challenged. They were all also viciously violent. They rarely had visitors because, why would they? Young kids with measles often have young moms who are, you know, growing their families. They also have young female teachers who could be pregnant.
Starting point is 00:42:25 It is a potential nightmare. So Helen was saying that she cringes when she hears me downplay the dangerous possibilities of measles. Okay. So, you know, there you have it. If you're concerned about measles, get the vaccination. and don't worry about it. But if you're, you know, making the argument that you don't want the vaccines,
Starting point is 00:42:48 have they changed since the vaccines that they were using back then? Have they changed now to a different type of vaccine? I honestly don't know. My guess would be probably yes the way things are these days. But be safe and be smart and be smart for you and your family. You know, do I think that we should man- mandate everyone be vaccinated? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:17 No is the answer. You know what? I do know. No is the answer. We should not mandate people being, it should be your choice, period. We should offer everyone the right information and, you know, so that people could make an educated choice, but I don't think it should be mandated. And Helen is right, it's dangerous, and it can make people very sick, and now you're affecting others in your choices. you know you do you boo wow so prince harry lost his case uh in the uk last week uh his case was about the security when his family comes to the uk and uh he said he was devastated at losing the legal challenges over his security yeah they are not going to pay for it uh i guess it's still up to a case by case basis so he can still apply for it but he just won't get it and that's happened since
Starting point is 00:44:09 He stepped down. He said in an interview that he and his dad hadn't spoken. And he said that King Charles won't speak to me because of the security stuff. Yeah, he doesn't want to deal with it. And I don't want to be influenced. And, you know, it's up to you. Plus, get over it. You don't get it anymore.
Starting point is 00:44:26 But then in the same interview, he talked about how he would love to have reconciliation. Uh-huh. Is that right, Harry? Really? After all? I mean, he might. There's no way that Megan gets that. No way.
Starting point is 00:44:41 I mean, if Harry brings the kids back to Buckingham and says, I left Megan, which I believe is still going to happen, then he gets reconciliation and everything will be okay. Although I would do it quickly because I just read an article the other day where it's reported that
Starting point is 00:45:00 the brother, Prince William, who will be king. They're counting the days for Prince William before he is King William. He is planning to strip Megan and his brother Harry of their H.R.H. titles. Wow. They don't get to be used in their his or her royal highness titles any longer. And Megan loves using that. I mean, that's in her personal correspondence. She loves it.
Starting point is 00:45:30 And Harry, I guess, you know, loves it too. I mean, he always has. That's his title. But if William takes that away from them, Holy cow. Go ahead. You want to live in California with your Hollywood buddies? Great. But you're no longer
Starting point is 00:45:50 having the royal titles. Especially you, Megan. Love King William. All right, let's get out of here with the joke of the day sent from Justin to chewing the fat at the blaze.com. Justin said in his email,
Starting point is 00:46:05 my grandmother, mid-90s, sent this to me and it made me l-o-l your grandmother's emailing you this or did she just mail it to you i i have questions about that but anyway uh he said that my mid-90s grandmother sent this to me and it made me l-o-l i just want to know how she sent it but i digress uh three women two younger and one a senior citizen were sitting naked in a sauna suddenly there was a beeping sound and the young woman pressed her forearm and the beep stopped the others looked at her questioningly and that was my pager. I have a microchip under my skin in my arm. Oh, so a few minutes later a phone rang and the second young woman lifted her palm to her ear and when she finished,
Starting point is 00:46:49 she explained, ah, that was my mobile phone. I have a microchip in my hand. So the older woman felt very low tech now and she did not want to be outdone. So she decided to do something just as impressive. She stepped out of the sauna, went into the bathroom and she returned with a piece of of toilet paper hanging from a rear end. The others raised their eyebrows and stared at her. And the older woman finally said, well, will you look at that? I'm getting a fax.
Starting point is 00:47:24 See, because the toilet paper looked like it was, you got it. Dream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at theblaze.com slash podcasts.
