Starting point is 00:00:36 September is going to be a big month for the Trump Organization. So we announced yesterday that the Trump Organization, you know, Jr. and Eric, not Donald, of course. They are launching a Trump Mobile. Yay! Now it's going to be available in September. So Trump Mobile, you'll be able to get for 4745 a month, plus you'll be able to get a $499 smartphone to go along with your 4745 a month for the Trump phone. And they announced that this new Trump Organization mobile phone service, they felt was the business, the business was lackluster. And we needed to help people out and help the audience that is underserved.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Oh, okay. So they're going to introduce an entire package of products. Okay. So you can get telemedicine on the phones for a monthly fee. You get roadside assistance for your cars. Unlimited texting for 100 countries around the world. We think it's going to be giving something unique to the American people. Ah, that's special.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Then in September. they're going to open a, well, it's a private club for all the hoity-toits that surround the MAGA people. It's called the executive branch. And it will open to new members with $150,000 initiation fee and annual dues of $15,000. I don't know if you get a deal if you're on Trump mobile or not. Probably not. They just had a big party hosting the co-founders. of the executive branch.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Now, the co-founders spent $500,000 on an initiation fee. Oh, okay, that's great. And they had all the hoity toys there to promote the executive branch club. Now, I don't know how many people already put their $150,000 down for the initiation fee. I'm sure there's a pre-order seat or chair at the executive branch. What will go on behind those doors? huh and I don't know what the rules are we'll have to wait and find out what the rules are like who you can bring in
Starting point is 00:03:02 because it's supposed to be a you know a MAGA friendly crowd and they're not just going to let anybody in uh-huh the guest list from this weekend was long and it was all the Washington DC insiders who are MAGA elite but one of the things that they didn't allow into the executive branch party who was the media and they also said no photos and you have to cover up your phone cameras as well well no you can still have your phone you just have to put a sticker over your phone camera oh okay so i want to know what is going on behind those doors at the executive branch i may never know
Starting point is 00:03:51 You may never know. But if you do, and you know someone who does, contact me, because I want to know what's going on behind those doors of the executive branch. But it opens up in September. So we are going to have the executive branch and a Trump mobile all open up for business in September. So there's something to look forward to. Welcome. Welcome to chewing the fat.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Sure, we've got protests going on. No human. being is illegal here in the U.S. Sure, we've got a Russia, Ukraine war. Sure, we've got wars going on in the Sudan. Sure, we have Iran and Israel at war and looking like they're trying to drag us into it as well. But then we have this Vance Bolter, Vance Bolter, who shot four people, killed two of them over the weekend in Minnesota. And they had the big man hunt.
Starting point is 00:05:03 And that whole thing is just a strange, strange thing. And we can, and we may break down the entire timeline of how he ended up shooting these people and murdering the two and what happened after. Just crazy. But then I read where he's got federal charges and the state charges. And I'm like, why are the feds involved? I mean, this guy, I realized that it was politically motivated, as we were told. Yeah, well, they were Minnesota representatives and senators.
Starting point is 00:05:33 the state of Minnesota, does that make it a federal case? So I looked at all the charges against Vance Bolter. And of course, he's innocent until proven guilty. Uh-huh. So Vance has federal charges because he used a GPS navigation system, interstate wires, and the internet to plan and carry out stalking, shooting, and killing of Melissa and Mark. Hartman in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota on the 14th of June. Oh, okay. Sure, absolutely. So he has federal count one stalking of Melissa
Starting point is 00:06:15 Hartman. Then he has federal count two. Stalking of John Hoffman. That's the other people that he shot, the other family that he shot. Federal count three, murder of Melissa Hartman, through use of a firearm. Oh, okay, but he was disguised as a police officer, heavily armed with fire. firearms and body armor and approach those officials' homes under the guise of lawful authority. That's a federal account? All right. Federal count four, the murder of Mark Hoffman through the use of a firearm. Federal count, count five, shooting of Melissa and Mark Hortman, firearms offense.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Federal count six, shooting of John and Yvette Hoffman, firearms offense. Okay, those are federal charges. Then we have the state count, a murder second degree. victim one, Melissa Hartman. Murder second degree, victim one. Mark Hartman. Murder second degree. Victim John Hoffman.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Murder second degree. Victim four. Yvette Hoffman. Although those are attempted murders, right? Those two are still alive, at least, that we know about today. So those are all the charges against this dengoberry in Minnesota. We believe that it's him. We're told that it's him.
Starting point is 00:07:32 All right? So I guess we believe. that it is him. I'm pretending to be his attorney for just a second. Okay. So he had a mascot. So many weird things. You know, the door that they show with the bullet holes in it,
Starting point is 00:07:45 that's the first house that got shot up. Those people are still alive. Then the house of the Senator Hortman, her house was boarded up kind of. They had one big giant board in front of the opening front doorways that were glass and boards in front of the
Starting point is 00:08:01 one window to the right. I'm guessing that because of the shootout that he had. So the police roll up and he's, his car's in the driveway, and he starts shooting at them and then retreats into the house. And then leaves through the back door, and they can't find him for a couple of days,
Starting point is 00:08:16 and they find him in a field. The whole thing is just strange. He's a weird kind of guy. He's done all kinds of jobs. He's gone to Africa to help people, to try to feed the people that were starving. I mean, it's good work. I get it.
Starting point is 00:08:31 he's portrayed as a MAGA guy. I don't know that he's actually a MAGA guy other than he's against abortion. It's just, and the timeline is just so weird. But those are all the charges against Vance Bolter. We might get into, you know, the timeline on Saturday morning live this week where Brad and I do a show every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. You can watch and listen on my ex at Jeffrey JFR. but this whole thing is just really, really weird.
Starting point is 00:09:03 And he had a list of more people he was supposed to do. He texted his friends, a roommate, but the guy's married with kids and he still has a roommate. I'm kind of confusing. And I want to hear the timeline and I'd like to hear his side, which we may never hear, by the way. But I do want to hear it. So there's, I mean, that's agonizing.
Starting point is 00:09:28 And then, of course, we have. you know, Israel bombing Iran and we may end up getting involved in that war. I would like to vote say no to getting involved with that. I don't even really want to, I mean, it's a fine line that we're walking with what we're doing to help them. Yes, we should help Israel, I guess. I guess. Okay, nobody wants Iran to have nukes. But then, you know, you hear that interview just a couple of months ago from our own intelligence reports that they were,
Starting point is 00:10:00 weren't ready to build the nuke. I mean, Tulsi Gabbard said in testimony that Iran was not ready to build a nuke, but Israel said that they were days, weeks, months away. So I'm not sure who to believe. Again, just a nightmare. Hey, how are you today? And if you're Sean Diddy Combs, I think you're feeling pretty good. They had a juror dismissed over concerns about his candor. about whether he lived in New York or New Jersey, so they gave him the boot yesterday. I guess the trial will continue on. He faces
Starting point is 00:10:37 criminal counts, one count of racketeering, conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has denied the allegations against him. So, man, if he walks from that,
Starting point is 00:10:54 holy cow. Now, he'll probably be found guilty on, you know, I don't know, what, transportation to engage in prostitution, and the rest of them, they can find him innocent on. I mean, I don't know. The whole thing is really, really weird. But if he walks, holy cow.
Starting point is 00:11:10 We know he's a bad guy. But have they proven their case about them? I don't think so. I haven't heard every part of testimony in the case, but what I've read, it sounds like they have not proven their case. Then R. Kelly, you know him, you love him, R. Kelly. He was overdosed in prison. He claims,
Starting point is 00:11:30 purpose. He claims that the guards gave him too much medication causing an overdose and then they took him to the hospital. He has been bedridden. He's said that he's in a hospital after a solitary confinement staff member instructed him to take additional medication. Oh, okay. Then they took him to the hospital because he crawled to the door of the cell and passed out. He claimed that on the way to the hospital, Duke University Hospital, that he heard the prison officer, saying this is going to open up a whole new can of worms. Okay. So he's asking for home confinement again.
Starting point is 00:12:11 And it's been denied he continues to ask for that. He believes that the staff took him off necessary blood thinner medication and is now refusing to allow him a doctor-recommended surgery to clear blood clots in his legs and lungs that are putting his life in danger. Okay. I wonder where they came from. I don't know if R. Kelly has had anything to do with that or not, but that's another story in and of itself.
Starting point is 00:12:39 However, sure, we can pay for trans surgeries, but we can't pay for that. Seems a little harsh. Seems a little bit harsh. Now, he wants to have a release to home under supervised containment in his home. Will that happen? I don't know. Sure is a good way to. continue to have people buy your music though, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:12:59 Just thinking out loud. This episode is brought to you by Peloton. A new era of fitness is here. Introducing the new Peloton Cross Training Tread Plus, powered by Peloton IQ, built for breakthroughs with personalized workout plans, real-time insights, and endless ways to move.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Lift with confidence, while Peloton IQ counts reps, corrects form, and tracks your progress. Let yourself run, lift, flow, and go. Explore the new Peloton Cross Training Treadplus at Onepeloton.ca. The home decor and furniture retailer store at home with more than 200 locations in the United States
Starting point is 00:13:49 and it's going to be a little bit less than that. They just filed for bankruptcy. I know there's a couple people that live under this roof that this show is being broadcast from today that have frequented the home decor and furniture retailer. I'll tell you that. they apparently are trying to get rid of all the debt that they have. 26 of their stores across the U.S. are slated to close, according to the court filings.
Starting point is 00:14:14 So the company owned by Helman and Friedman of Plano, a Texas-based company, and I love Helman and Friedman, which has been struggling for months. They're blaming it on the tariffs. Entered a forbearance agreement with lenders after it had missed an interest payment on May 15th. So as part of the agreement, at home said it expects to transition ownership of the company to its pool of lenders who are holding more than 95% of the company debt. Wow. And the CEO said, yeah, we're operating against the backdrop of the impact of terrorists.
Starting point is 00:14:52 And we're trying to take steps that will improve our ability to compete in the marketplace. Okay. All right. So 26 stores are shutting down at home. None of them in the state of Texas, interestingly enough. It looks like New York, California. There's one in Florida, Washington, New Jersey, Pennsylvania. There's one in Illinois, Vermont, Massachusetts.
Starting point is 00:15:19 Yeah, that's about it. Okay. So those are the states that it's affecting those 26 stores for now. So if you are one of the people that are going to be looking for a new place to live, because your at-home store is closing down, you need to reach out to real estate agents.organt.com. And really, no matter the case, when the time comes for you to move,
Starting point is 00:15:43 whether it's in the same town or anywhere else in the country, you're going to want a real estate agent. That's why I mentioned real estate agents.com. Because you don't want just any agent. You want someone who's really good at what they do, not some of the fly-by-night moonlighters that just go through the motions, and don't really care about you.
Starting point is 00:16:03 And that's where the problem lies. But with real estate agents, I trust, you're going to go ahead and bypass that problem. It's a free service. It connects you with the top performing agents who actually care about your outcome. Agents are experienced, vetted, fully committed to helping you buy or sell with confidence,
Starting point is 00:16:20 whether you're moving across the country or across town. You know, this all started years ago when our man Glenn decided to sell his one house in Connecticut. And he could never sell it. He found went through, I don't know how many real estate agents, they could never sell it. He ended up selling it for under 40 bucks, which was way, way, way, way low. It was worth more than $40. I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:16:45 So he decided to create this real estate agents I trust. And these are people that he would hire himself and the only one he puts his name behind, really, because your move isn't just a move, it's your life. And you deserve to work with someone who treats you that way. Real estate agents I trust.com. Real estate agents I trust. Dot com. So how are things going over at Costco?
Starting point is 00:17:09 Well, they seem to be doing pretty good. I see where Costco is planning to open a standalone gas station. And it's going to be in California. Are they going to start doing that around the country to have standalone gas stations? I could be a fan of that. But they say in the story that it's going to be occupied or they're taking over a place that was occupied by bed, bath, and beyond. So are they just opening it up in the store? I mean, is the bedbathed and beyond?
Starting point is 00:17:38 You just drive into what used to be bedbathed beyond. They're going to have the gas tanks and everything indoors. I could be a big fan of that. I'm not sure how that work. Plus, they better not have some special extra app that you have to be a Costco member to use it. And I'm okay with that. You know, just like Sam's.
Starting point is 00:18:01 You used to only have Sam's Club members using their gas stations. Now they made it okay for the Walmart Plus members to use it. And that is wrong. I have been against that from the very beginning. And they haven't listened to me. I know. Big surprise that Walmart slash Sam's Club hasn't listened to me. But it's really ticking me off because that means more people are using the Sam's Club gas stations,
Starting point is 00:18:24 which is why they're doing it. But let Walmart plus users get a bigger discount at the gas station. that already give you a discount if you're a Walmart plus member. It just doesn't make any sense to me. But anyway, Costco is beginning to open up standalone gas stations. Whatever happened to them, they were supposed to have apartments. They were building up above one of their Costco buildings, right?
Starting point is 00:18:49 I was in California too. As that happened? I haven't seen any reports on it, so I don't know. Let's find out what they were talking about. Yeah, okay, so they were going to open 800 apartment units above the Costco. It was going to include 184 of those 800 apartments
Starting point is 00:19:07 for low-income households and it's also going to have a rooftop pool and a fitness center. Okay, and you're living above a Costco. So that's supposed to be happening. I don't know that it is or was or has yet. I just know that it was announced
Starting point is 00:19:28 that they were going to do that. Are you willing to live above a Costco? I think so. I don't know if the elevator takes you down right into the Costco. Probably not. If you live in one of those apartments, do you get an automatic membership to Costco? I could be a fan of that.
Starting point is 00:19:46 All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. So modern family child, child, Aubrey Anderson Emmons 18 has just come out as bisexual. So? Oh, you're just trying to remain relevant? Oh, okay. So she was the daughter of the two gay dads in modern family, I think.
Starting point is 00:20:25 So, you know, people were joking about that as well as funny. And she said that on her threads video, which, I guess they exist. That she is, people keep asking me in her, she was playing a clip from the show where she says I'm gay. And she says, people keep telling me that. But no, really, I am.
Starting point is 00:20:45 I am gay. I'm by. Oh, okay. So again, so. But she wants to remain relevant. She hasn't been, had any acting gigs in a while. And she's trying to be this singer. this indie singer, this indie pop tunes.
Starting point is 00:21:06 She's under the name of Francis Anderson. And she's released her first single called Telephones and Traffic. And her newest single will be out June 27th. Retitled Don't Forget Me. I have not heard either one of these songs. Well, the second one hasn't been released yet. But Telephones in Traffic, I bet you that's good. All right.
Starting point is 00:21:32 This is her show. singing at least a portion of it on her TikTok. We'll see if it, uh, the TikTok is at Audrey Anderson Emmons, but she's doing the songs as Francis
Starting point is 00:21:46 Anderson. Weird. Telephone hits in traffic. I miss your exit past it. Forgone. For to what you're warning for. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Why, I'm tired I'm not a leave it either You know I'm so I'm so about her Oh my gosh I don't want to take anymore It's that good
Starting point is 00:22:16 Wow Okay Telephones and Traffic From either Francis Anderson Or Aubrey Anderson Emmons Who is
Starting point is 00:22:27 Did you know that she was by? No, I know She announced it on threads I don't know if she announced it on WhatsApp or not, because WhatsApp now is going to start having ads. I know. If you used WhatsApp, you knew they swore against ads from the very beginning. I mean, the guys who actually created WhatsApp,
Starting point is 00:22:48 they despised digital advertising. I mean, they sold their WhatsApp to, well, it was Facebook meta, for $19 billion. Pretty good deal. In 2014, and they said no ads, no games, no gimmicks. And in fact, before their stock was vested in meta slash Facebook, they left the company.
Starting point is 00:23:16 And they said, you know, it's been rumored that they left because they were fighting over the ads for WhatsApp. Now, you know, that's been a thing for, that's been a number of years now. Well, now the ads are coming to WhatsApp. I know. Now, they claim that if you use the app to text, you know, your international aunts and uncles, messages will remain ad-free. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:23:43 But sponsored content will only appear in updates, a social tab launched two years ago within that section. I'm not real familiar with WhatsApp, so they have, there's, I guess this is an updates section where you check through statuses, and which is like their version of stories. And creators, brands, and 200 million businesses using WhatsApp can start monetizing the app's broadcast channels with subscription to their premium content. They'll also be able to pay WhatsApp to appear higher in the app search results. So, I mean, it's just like every other social media app. Oh, that's good.
Starting point is 00:24:27 I don't want anyone to be different whatsoever. Okay, not one. Not one social media app to be different. Okay, I got it. So according to this, WhatsApp has three billion global monthly users, only 100 million of whom are in the U.S., and half of them visit the updates tab every day, according to Meta. On top of an expected influx of ad dollars,
Starting point is 00:24:53 META also plans to take a 10% cut of the WhatsApp channel's subscription fees. okay so there you have it if you don't know what's app user ads are coming and you can have your own subscribe to channel that's great i see also where ads are coming uh amazon and roku are teaming up to get ads in front of more people that's great that's what i want i want more ads in my life and rocuh was already kind of ticking me off with the ads thing so two companies amazon and rocoup have joined forces for a digital ad sales partnership. They say we'll give advertisers access to more than 80% of U.S. households with connected TVs by allowing them to reach viewers of Amazon Prime, the Roku Channel, and others. It's a good deal for advertisers because in early trials,
Starting point is 00:25:46 ads placed this way reach 40% more unique viewers while decreasing the frequency with which ads were shown to the same viewer by 30%. Okay, I like that. So, you know, you log into Roku, there's an ad. Let me skip by it and go. That will end, though, I bet. When you're able to skip by it. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. All right.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Our ads will be short and quick and to the point, but you're not going to be able to skip by them, okay? I can't tell you how frustrating it is. And I'm a big fan of commercials. We've talked about it before. commercials are fine. You know, commercials are what pays the bill. I've been a radio for a third.
Starting point is 00:26:27 thousand years. I know commercials. That's what pays the bill. I'm here to fill time between commercials. At least that's what we were told in radio. However, you know, sometimes it's just frustrating. And like I record shows and then I go back to watch them and it used to be and you don't get these days back. If you recorded it, you could fast forward through the commercials. Nope, not any longer. You get your little square up in the corner with ad on it and you're not fast forwarding through that. You just have to let it ride. It's frustrating, that's all. Just frustrating.
Starting point is 00:27:03 But you know it going in, so you're there. Once you're in it, you're in it. And you can't quote me on that. With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too. That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. It's worth it.
Starting point is 00:28:51 at Jeffey JFR on the Camio app. And be sure to listen to Talking Walking Dead. That's a show I do with Jason Butchral and Maximus Fisher weekly. Dead City is up and running. There's one episode left of Dead City. I can't believe we're through season two already next week. But that also drops. As a subscriber to Chewing the Fat, you see when Talking Walking Dead is dropped.
Starting point is 00:29:14 And if that, you know, if that tickles your fancy, listen in. We have fun with it every week. And, you know, I just enjoy doing it with, Jason and my son Maximus. And then Saturdays, I do a thing with Brad Staggs called Saturday morning live, which we do live. That's why it's called Saturday morning live at 9 a.m. Central Time. And, of course, you can watch it, you know, whenever you want afterward,
Starting point is 00:29:41 but why not be there live? Am I right? Yeah, of course I am. And you can get that on my ex account at Jeffey JFR. Okay. Who died? today. Who died today? Well, police have identified this person, Arthur Falasa Alu, dead at the age of 39. Now, it's believed that he was shot by this 24-year-old man, Arturo Gamboya. He was the one that was dressed in black and wearing a black mask as he was crouching
Starting point is 00:30:18 him on the group of people with a gunshot wound. That was at a No King's protest in Salt Lake City. You may remember our man from Project Runway. I love that show. He was in the 17th season of Project Runway. He was born and grew up in Samoa. He survived by his wife. Salt Lake City Police are investigating the shooting.
Starting point is 00:30:44 I don't know. He was not supposed to be part of. He wasn't in the direction of a... it was in the direction, but he wasn't really part of who was being shot at. So that, it was an accidental shooting and they tried to bring him back to life and they could not. Very sad. And so I'm not sure if he was shot by this bad guy or if he was shot by police. It's an ongoing investigation.
Starting point is 00:31:10 So just rest in peace to Arthur Phyllasa Alu dead at the age of 39 as an innocent bystandard during the No Kings protest in Salt Lake City. Then we have two dead, 32 injured after a bridge collapse at a tourist destination. Now I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't really count
Starting point is 00:31:34 on where this took place. Go ahead. Yes, that's right, India. It's amazing to me. Very sad that apparently tourists I don't know flock to this bridge every weekend and it's this bridge over the
Starting point is 00:31:52 Indriani River in the Punya district of India's Maharashada State. I apologize to all in India. I know that's incorrect, but this is the best you're going to get here. Okay. And so they're investigating the bridge
Starting point is 00:32:10 collapse. So we know that one and other buildings are pretty good. I mean, we had a partial building left standing after the plane crash, right? Oh, too soon? Oh, okay, never mind. I did see a funny meme. You know, well, it wasn't really a meme. It was just a side-by-side picture of the twin towers coming down.
Starting point is 00:32:31 And then the airplane that had smashed into a building still partially standing in India with the caption, I have so many questions. Me too. Me too. So rest and peace. to the two people who died in this bridge collapse in India. We also have Jimmy Swaggart. I mean, hello, the televangelist, Louisiana, Jimmy Swaggart, is in the hospital.
Starting point is 00:33:02 He went into a cardiac arrest over the weekend and has not regained consciousness. He's 90 years old now. The son said that right now he is in ICU and without a miracle of miracles, his time. his time will be short. So the families are still holding on to hope, I'm sure, for recovery. But he said we believe in God and we're not giving up. We've already told the doctors we don't want to hear anything from them. We will make decisions in our own time,
Starting point is 00:33:34 but we're going to give the Lord an opportunity to work. There you go. So Jimmy Swagger is in the hospital and is in the ICU unconscious. Will he survive? We'll see. We will see. Then we have Eric Dane, the actor. Eric Dane, the actor. Now, he's been on Gray's Anatomy, Euphoria Star.
Starting point is 00:33:58 I think he does another show on Prime as well. He did an interview with Diane Sawyer, and in that interview, he talked about his recent ALS diagnosis. Huh. So he's got ALS, and right now he says he only has one functioning arm. His left side is functioning. My right side has completely stopped working and noting that his left arm has been getting weaker as well. He said he feels like he maybe has a couple more months and I won't have my left hand either.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Wow. That is, I do not wish that on anyone. Anyone. I do not wish that on anyone. It does make one wonder, though, because ALS is a progressive degenerative disease and it breaks down the nerves of the body. and your muscles get weak and you have paralysis and it just, it ends up, you can't breathe. And there's no known cure.
Starting point is 00:34:54 I mean, it's terrible, just terrible. And he talked about his father, killing himself when he was a young child and he's sad that he's going to end up, you know, leaving his young children. Very sad. The whole thing is really, really sad. But it does make me wonder.
Starting point is 00:35:12 He said he first started having symptoms about a year and a half, ago when he began to experience weakness in his right hand and he said he didn't think much of it at the time maybe i'd been texting too much or my hand was fatigued but a few weeks later i noticed it got a little worse so he went and saw a hand specialist they sent him to another specialist and he went to see a neurologist and the neurologist sent me to another neurologist and uh you know he said it was way of the neurologist told him this is above my pay grade who that's not good when the neurologist is telling you that it's above you as pay grade, that's an issue. So he then was diagnosed with ALS.
Starting point is 00:35:52 And I'm sure, I am sure that this has absolutely nothing to do with that, right? Because if it did, they would have said something. But it is in the time frame, isn't it? Okay, so if you're listening live, today is the 17th of June 2025, which makes yesterday the 16th of June, 2020. and I broadcast this show. I record this show either from the Mercury Studios in Irving, Texas,
Starting point is 00:37:09 or a studio here in Fort Worth, Texas. And they're about 30 minutes apart, between 30 minutes and 45 minutes apart, depending on traffic, time of day, that kind of thing. So yesterday I went in, I did the Pat Gray program, and I did the Glenn Beck radio program, and then I recorded Chewing the Fat at the Studios, Mercury Studios. and then I came back home. And it was a beautiful day out.
Starting point is 00:37:35 It was another million-dollar 100-degree weather in Texas. So then I'm going through some stories last night, and I see this story. It's dated yesterday, Monday, June 16th, about 1,600 flights delayed and canceled across the U.S. as American Delta Jet Blue Air Canada, WestJet, and more disrupted by severe weather disruption at DFW and a Hartsfield Airport
Starting point is 00:38:02 amid peak summer travel rush. Okay, I just want to be clear. The way that I drive to the studios from my home and from the studios back to my home, I pass the DFW International Airport. Okay, it's a large airport. It's bigger than the island of Manhattan. We've talked about that before.
Starting point is 00:38:24 We've done the jokes all about it. It's this monstrous airport, and they're in the middle of another big remodel, so great. It's one of the busiest airmen. in the country, let alone the world. And it says here that Dallas Fort Worth hit hard with over a thousand disruptions. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:40 I know that it's American Airlines maintains their hub business here. And 846 flights were delayed. 177 were outright canceled, bringing the total number of disrupted flights at DFW to 1,023 in a single day. And that's because of weather at DFW? I don't know. That's what they make it seem. I mean, all these other airports were canceled and delayed because of what was being delayed at DFW.
Starting point is 00:39:17 And they're, you know, it's a grow, we're talking in the article. It talks about this growing pattern of weather-induced travel disruptions. Yeah, I wonder what's causing that. I bet it's climate change, don't you? I bet that's what they're going to. going to say, yeah, it is actually. The wave of storms just come days after similar weather patterns caused hundreds of delays. Yeah, in New York and Detroit, and I know how it effect, I got the domino effect, but just, well, unless between the time I was in the studios at Mercury Studios in Irving,
Starting point is 00:39:51 Texas, and I left the studios and drove back to Fort Worth passing the airport, and it was in between that time because the time that I was driving into the studios it was beautiful out and traffic was flowing fine that was like 4 a.m. in the morning so it was between the time I arrived at the studios which is usually about 4.30 a.m. something like that 4.34 45 a.m. until I left about 1.30 something maybe 2 o'clock in the afternoon something like that unless there was massive storms during that time because driving home it was 100 degrees beautiful sunlight
Starting point is 00:40:32 traffic traveled great was moving wonderfully there must have been some big storm that I wasn't aware of because I don't know how that happened it's just weird to me that they're blaming these weather delays on DFW when
Starting point is 00:40:47 I mean what was it too warm is it summertime? Was it too warm? I know they're trying to blame climate change for these weather the weather disruptions is on climate change, which then in turn affects the airlines. But, uh, no.
Starting point is 00:41:03 So really, really weird. But if you're part of the people that were delayed or canceled on one of these airlines across the country, well, welcome to chewing the fat. I appreciate you listening. Uh, you got nothing else to do. You're just sitting at the airport, titling your thumbs.
Starting point is 00:41:20 Is it tiddling your thumbs or twiddling your thumbs? Anyway, you know what you're doing. Yeah. Don't do it so much. You might go blind. Anyway, if you're stuck at an airport, boy, does it suck to be you? And I don't want to be you. But I appreciate you listening to, you know, chewing the fat while you're there.
Starting point is 00:41:38 All right. So the Indiana Pacers lost last night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. So they are down three games to two. They look, they did not look good last night at all. So it looks like the Oklahoma City Thunder is going to win the NBA championship. Although you never know. Games in 6 and 7 are coming up. Game 6 is tomorrow night, Thursday night.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Thursday night is game 6. And then Saturday is game 7 if needed. The Florida Panthers could win the Stanley Cup tonight as they taking on the Edmonton Oilers as they are up three games to two in the seven game series. So Panthers could win tonight. Oklahoma City Thunder could win Thursday night, and we can be done with the NBA and the NHL playoffs by Thursday night.
Starting point is 00:42:32 All right, let's get out of here. I'll leave you with the joke of the day. In fact, I'll leave you with a joke of the day since it's hockey tonight, and we could have a Stanley Cup champion, a repeat Stanley Cup champion, Florida Panthers. This is their third year in a row in the Stanley Cup, and they won last year, and they're looking to win this year. They've been in the Stanley Cup three years in a row. They're so good.
Starting point is 00:42:55 So, I mean, Edmonton's been there two times, right? Edmonton played against them last year and lost as well. So anyway, the joke of the day from Wehram, Weirham sent a hockey joke. So I'll tie it in with the NHL for you, okay? And I said it's the joke to chewing the fat at the blaze.com. And he's not claiming that he wrote it because it's an old joke, and I do remember the old joke.
Starting point is 00:43:20 But it's, you know, it says it makes him laugh every time. her. I didn't mean to judge. I didn't mean gendered language. I don't know if We're him is a he or she. Two men are in a bar talking. The first man says, yeah, I was watching a great fight last night. And the other man asked,
Starting point is 00:43:38 why do you look so depressed then? Well, all of a sudden a hockey game broke out. See, I know, you understand. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at theblaze.com slash podcasts.
