Starting point is 00:00:00 Blaze Radio Network. And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. I have never heard the economy called K-shaped before. The letter K-shaped economy. Oh, okay. So according to recent earnings reports and consumer data, show a bifurcation in the U.S. That experts call a K-shaped economy.
Starting point is 00:00:29 It means wealthy consumers, do well and spend freely while lower and middle income people struggle and scrim. Okay. In the U.S. current market realities looks a lot like that. The affluent doing very well, along with the booming stock market and the appreciation of their homes in an inventory crunched real estate market, nearly everyone else, faltering due to a shaky job market, high interest rates, and or inflation. Some of the sectors flashing K,
Starting point is 00:01:00 are the automotive in September, a low cost of a new vehicle, passed a $50,000 mark for the first time. According to Cox Automotive Keys, Kelly Blue Book, in repossession volume passing through Mannheim, the auction group owned by Cox, was up 12% through the end of September on an annualized basis. That's according to the Wall Street Journal's deep dive into the rise of auto repos.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Delta Airlines CEO said that the sales of premium seats would exceed those of coach seats for at least one or two quarters in 2006 next year. Coca-Cola CEO told CNBC that sales of its premium brands, Smartwater, Tapo Chico, and Fairlife are juicing the company's sales while Coke demand is up at dollar stores as well as amusement parks frequented by higher spenders. Hmm, interesting. Consumer goods, Apple. grew by double digits last quarter, thanks to a strong sales of the 799 iPhone 17.
Starting point is 00:02:08 And while economists told Marketplace, they're specifically talking about Leo Feller, I love him, that everyone has kept buying health and personal care items. How and when they buy them has changed. Wealthier shoppers are making halls at Costco, while budget-constrained shoppers uses up everything at home before going shopping. economic trends suggest that the gap will widen rather than narrow economist Betsy Stevenson of the University of Michigan said the real risk to a K-shaped economy is social and political instability. I still don't know what the K means. I get, you know, I get what you're trying to tell me what we're living through and living in. is you're calling a K-shaped economy.
Starting point is 00:03:03 But am I a capital K? Am I a small case K? I mean, the only K they show here in the story is capital K. So are you the, what line and the K do you belong to? I'll just stop asking questions. Welcome. Welcome to Chewing the Fat Fat 5 Plus. One down, two to go.
Starting point is 00:03:54 A homeowner in Mississippi has shot and killed one of the monkeys that escaped after the truck accident last week. I thank you for listening to the program, Jessica Bond-Ferguson, who says that she acted to protect her family and that I wasn't going to, I wasn't going to make sure to have the monkey disappear and hurt some other family. So we know that there were three monkeys on the loose After originally being told there was only one But there were 21 monkeys being shipped 13 were taken from the accident They arrived at their original destination
Starting point is 00:04:33 Of the eight monkeys that were ejected from their cages Five were killed in the hunt for them And three remained on the loose Until Sunday when our girl decided to shoot the monkey in her backyard. So Jessica Bond said she was alerted Sunday by her son, who said, I think there's a monkey running around in the backyard. So she got out of bed, grabbed her firearm and her cell phone,
Starting point is 00:05:04 and stepped outside, where she saw the monkey about 60 feet away. She said other residents have been warned about the escaped monkeys. they carried diseases, so she fired her gun. Look, I did what any other mother would do to protect her children. I have five children ranging from the ages of four to 16. I shot at it, and it just stood there. And I shot it again. That's when it backed up and it fell down.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Now, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office confirmed in a social media post that the homeowner had found one of the monkeys on her property. on Sunday morning, and they didn't have any more details than that. According to this, she was alerted by her son, hey, I think the monkey's in the backyard. She got up, she grabbed her gun and her phone. As she was standing, you know, headed out the door, she called the police and was told to keep an eye on the monkey.
Starting point is 00:06:10 And she worried that if the monkey got away, it would threaten the children in another house. and that's when she cocked the old weapon and kept an eye on the monkey but she said look if it attacked somebody else's kid and I didn't stop it when I had the chance I didn't want that to happen so Bond a 35 year old professional chef
Starting point is 00:06:32 it's kind of scary and dangerous that they're running around and people have kids playing in their yards yeah so she took care of the issue and that's exactly what we told you to do here on chewing the fat just, you know, put it down, call the authorities. Very simple. You're concerned for your safety.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Move on. And she did it both almost simultaneously. Good for her. So they've been, we still have two out there. And we don't know where they're at. We've seen, we haven't heard hiding her hair from these two monkeys. Now, maybe a couple of them were hanging around this monkey. And they thought, ooh, I am not going around that yard any longer.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Because you get shot if you do that. And so we'll see what happens to more of these monkeys in the Jasper County, Mississippi. But I have a feeling that like this mother, Jessica Bond Ferguson, when one shows up in your yard, you're going to have to keep an eye on it. And then, of course, put it down as necessary. You know, I did mention this. on today's Fat 5 during Pat Unleashed. But it's just incredible to me.
Starting point is 00:07:50 It seems like it's been longer. But apparently, yesterday marked the 25-year anniversary of a continuous human presence in space, including at least one U.S. citizen. So President Ronald Reagan commissioned a project that would become the ISS, the International Space Station, in 1984. The idea of living in space dates back a lot further. Yeah. Of course, author Edward Everett Hale, imagining a fictional ISS in the 1869 tale, The Brick Moon.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Canada, and who hasn't read that? Canada, Japan, Europe, and ultimately Russia joined the project on November 2,000. The Expedition 1 crew became the first group to reside on the ISS. Today the station is the largest space vehicle ever built as large as a football field, including solar arrays, with a habitable volume larger than a six-bedroom house. More than, which is pretty fascinating, more than 280 people from 27 countries have visited the station, typically to conduct scientific experiments in the six-month rotations. The ISS will be deorbited in early 2031, and then they're going to just drive it into the Pacific Ocean.
Starting point is 00:09:11 I hope somebody knows how to drive that thing. But it's been 25 years since we've, it's a continuous human presence in space. Pretty cool. And once we started living there, then for sure, that's why we had to keep going back up there because we had to go up there and pick up the trash. We sent, we sent, oh, that's what was the space shuttle.
Starting point is 00:09:32 And then we're doing SpaceX is going up there now, along with Russia and India. And the UK has a, program, but I don't think they're part of that. I know Europe, you know, they want to be a part of it, but I don't, I think they're still hitching a ride on, uh, U.S. or Russian or Indian rockets. I don't think they're making their own. And so it's just fascinating to me that, uh, we've been up there for 25 years, pretty
Starting point is 00:10:00 cool. And we're looking to move on. I mean, Elon's got a plan to move on. And, uh, so does NASA. And, uh, I feel like, uh, we need to really work. on that. It's a great program and it brings a lot to the table once we
Starting point is 00:10:15 you know, once we figured it out. If you didn't get a chance, the New York City Marathon was on Sunday yesterday. Today is the third of November, 2025, for those of you listening live. And man, what a
Starting point is 00:10:51 marathon race it was. Wow. The set a course record in the women's competition and the closest race ever on the men's side. which was decided by a fraction of a second. Helen Oberi of Kenya broke the women's record while another Kenyan, Benson Keperto,
Starting point is 00:11:13 won the men's race by edging out Alexander Motizo by three hundredths of a second. So she won the women's race in 2023, as well as this year finished in two hours and 19 minutes and 51 seconds. Incredible. And she pulled away. Congratulations.
Starting point is 00:11:37 And so congratulations to the Kenyans who were the champions in the marathon race of New York. Is it the New York marathon or is it the marathon race of New York? It's whatever you want to call it. Congratulations to the victors. And it's usually the Kenyans who win. They are the distance running champions around the world. That's why I've always said that I am the Kenyan of eating. I'm not a speed eater.
Starting point is 00:12:07 I don't like the timed speed eating events. But you give me the distance? I'm in. I'm the Kenyan of eating. That's me. I'm distance. Distance eater. More congratulations are in order to the musical artist Zaniam Monet.
Starting point is 00:12:24 debuted on the Adult R&B Airplay Radio Chart Breakthrough. How was I supposed to know Achieves a chart milestone As it's an AI artist Yeah Yeah Zania Monet is not a real person And she is She's on the charts
Starting point is 00:12:44 At number 30 Many billboard radio airplay stories Focus on you know Which artists and songs are topping the charts But this one dated for the first of November Since today is the third contains the potentially historic development at the anchor spot,
Starting point is 00:13:04 which they say is number 30. Thanks to Zandiamonay, how is I supposed to know? Yes, she's an AI-driven artist. Incredible. There's several other artists, I guess, on the charts now, and we're starting to break through to top songs now. So does it say when they play it on the radio? and I don't know this.
Starting point is 00:13:28 So if you know this, you can email the show Chewing the Fat at the Blaze.com. Chewing the fat at the blaze.com. When they play this on the radio, do they say, hey, here's the AI artist Zaniamode A. How was I supposed to know?
Starting point is 00:13:42 So you know that it's an AI artist or do they just let it go and just play, how is I supposed to know? And they just let it go. And you just figure it out like you always did what artist it was. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:13:57 You played a great song there coming up last hour, and it's something about supposed to know, supposed to know, and it sounded really, really great. And yeah, that's Zani-Mone. And we'll try to get it back on for you. How was I supposed to know? Oh, I don't know if I'm going to be able to make this through the whole thing. It's three minutes and 50 seconds long.
Starting point is 00:14:27 Okay. So I fell for the ones that lied just right. He never pulled my chair and checked my friends. I kind of like it, actually. If he ain't teaching me, how is I supposed to know? There you go. Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:15:50 I appreciate it, Zania. That's great. Thank you for how is I supposed to know. If he ain't teach me, how is I supposed to know? Kind of like it. Which leads me to the post done by Peter Diamandis, Dr. Peter Diomantis. He had a post this weekend with the headline,
Starting point is 00:16:10 you know, gravity may be key evidence that our universe is a simulation. Groundbreaking new research suggests. That's the headline that he posted on his ex-account. And he commented by saying, yes, obviously we are living in a simulation, but what will you do differently now that you know that? Yeah, that's the question, right? I hear more and more people talking about us living in a simulation these days.
Starting point is 00:16:39 But now let's say, you know, what are you going to do different? Now, Elon, of course, quote tweeted it by saying a quote, exed it, quote posted it, saying maybe you have more pool parties. That's funny. But, you know, that's the whole thing, right? That takes us back to if you knew you were going to die. the exact date and time that you were going to die. What would you do different?
Starting point is 00:17:10 If you knew, say, okay, your death was going to be a week from today, and you do that. What would you do differently? Well, the real answer is nothing. You should be living your life the way you want to live it every day, period. Most of us don't do that. So that's hence the question. what would you do differently? Leading you into you should be doing things differently.
Starting point is 00:17:38 You should be doing and living your life the way you want it every single day. So simulation or not. All right. Well, we still got a shot to with the Big Lotto. We have the power ball drawing tonight to the 3rd of November 2025 for $419 million jackpot with 198.0 cash payout. And if you think that, man, that's not enough, tomorrow night, the mega-billions, worth $800 million jackpot, $372.7 million cash payout. So, still got a shot. Or if you're an artist, you could just move to Ireland. I see where they have decided that paying artist
Starting point is 00:18:50 isn't just an experiment. It's a necessity. So Ireland will now make its $1,500 a month basic income for creators permanent, turning a pilot program into one of the most progressive cultural policies in the world. So they launched this back in 2022, and they were supporting over 2,000 artists, writers,
Starting point is 00:19:12 and performers through the pandemic recovery. School was simple. Allow creative people to build the substantial lives without juggling endless side jobs. Yeah, I hate that. After three years of data showing improved well-being, productivity,
Starting point is 00:19:27 and artistic output, the Irish government confirmed the plan will continue indefinitely from this year forward. So, congratulations to all the artists in Ireland. You know, it is rare. It says in this story, it's rare to see a country treat creativity as infrastructure instead of luxury. It is rare. I will say, the basic minimum income thing is going to have to come rear its ugly head again here in the United States soon
Starting point is 00:19:58 and nobody wants to have that conversation but it's going to have to happen and if you need me to help you with that conversation I will but it needs to happen and it's coming soon I'll be sure to follow me on my social media at Jeffrey JFR on X Jeff Fisher

Starting point is 00:21:47 Okay. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Bob Trumpy, Bob Trumpy, who was an original member of the Cincinnati Bengals. That's a national football league team. He played for them for 10 years before enjoying a career as a network radio and television analyst has died at the age of 80. Doesn't say what he died from. It does say that he died peacefully, surrounded by family at his home. in the Cincinnati area.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Huh. Okay. So I know the Bengals did do a moment of silence at their game yesterday prior to playing the Chicago Bears. What a wild game that was, and they ended up losing that game as well. And they talked about what a great career Bob Trumpy had, and he was known for as both a player at a broadcaster. He was an exceptional rare tight end who could get downfield and split his own coverages. Yeah, I mean, he came over, he went to the University of Utah, and then he was drafted not by the NFL, but by the AFL expansion Cincinnati Bengals
Starting point is 00:23:00 in the 12th round in 1968. And then, wow. So very good. Is he in the Hall of Fame? I don't think he is. Okay, not as a player. The Pro Football Hall of Fame gave Trumpy the Pete Roselle Radio Television Award in 2014 for a lifetime achievement in NFL broadcasting.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Yeah, he did a lot. uh he was with dick enberg for years uh he called a couple of super bowls monday night football i worked with uh don crickie on the radio he was a part of summer olympics and three rider cups for nbc yeah so uh rest in peace to bob trumpy dead at the age of 80 then uh not dead yet in our not dead yet file uh scott adams uh you know the dilbut creator and he does coffee with Scott Adams and he has thousands of followers. He's been really sick and he talked about having prostate cancer and how he was very sick and he was going through.
Starting point is 00:24:02 He has tried everything and nothing worked and he had already put in place the right to die. He lives in California. He worked very, he worked a lot with the crowd who gave people, you know, a choice to the right to die on their own terms in California and he was all ready to die. He said that he had made the choice and that he had tried everything and that, you know, when it got to the point that he couldn't bear it any longer, he was going to end his own life. Well, he started taking some different medicines and some different trial runs and started feeling better and doing his show.
Starting point is 00:24:41 And now, I guess he wants to live. So he posted on X over the weekend on Monday, I'll ask President Trump. via X to help save my life. He offered to help me if I needed it, I need it. As many of you know, I have metastasized prostate cancer. My health care provider, Kaiser of Northern California, has approved my application to receive a newly FDA-approved drug called Pluvico. But they have dropped the ball in scheduling the brief IV to administer it,
Starting point is 00:25:14 and I can't seem to fix that. I am declining fast. I will ask President Trump if he can get Kaiser of North California. Northern California to respond and schedule it for Monday. That will give me a fighting chance to stick around on this planet a little bit longer. It's not a cure, but it does give good results to many people. And I guess RFK responded and Trump Jr. responded and Donald Trump said he was on it. And I guess it's all good.
Starting point is 00:25:44 He's going in for the shots now. I guess, you know, President Trump calls and says that he wants you want you to do something. apparently you do it. So I don't care if you're Kaiser of Northern California or if you're Bill down the street. President Trump is asking for you to do something. Yeah, okay, I think we could do that. So that's good news for Scott.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Okay, you ever want to just hang out and, you know, look someone straight in the eye and then, you know, just touch each other? And when I do that, I get in trouble. So according to Ali Hoffman, she has created the experience called The Feels.
Starting point is 00:26:31 And the Feels is to get singles to engage in deep eye contact, spiritually centered conversation, and with consent, of course, touching. Lots and lots
Starting point is 00:26:48 of touching. I mean, it sounds like a date, really is what it sounds like. But no, it's not. It may seem strange to some. Uh-huh. But to Hoffman, who has a master's in psychology with focus in spirituality from Columbia University, there's a method to the madness. By nudging people out of their heads and into contact, she hopes to also nudge them
Starting point is 00:27:09 past their limited beliefs and rules around dating. For some, it's worked. Hoffman says she's heard from people who have gotten engaged as a result of the fields. Yeah, I got engaged too A couple times, more than a couple times of my life As a result of The Feels So she said the Fields was born from
Starting point is 00:27:32 Personal necessity Tired of typical single events She wanted to create a space where she could meet thoughtful people Yeah, they used to call that a bar But no, not even longer, don't make jokes, Jeff, It's not funny, this is about the Fields And this is about being, you know getting wisdom and information
Starting point is 00:27:51 that's available from the body. Okay. Is this person really present for me? Is this person seeing me? Do I feel energetically good? Okay? Ugh. So, there you go.
Starting point is 00:28:05 There's also, now here you go. So she hosted the feels level two. Oh, no. There's different levels I have to join. Holy cow. The intention. Oh, there's a survey. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:18 So the second level two is an iteration offering more advanced touch exercises and a pre-survey screening on their inner work journey. So level two event costs more. Of course it does. Around $200 a person. Level one, the other version, doesn't involve a survey or personalized matching and costs around $90 to $100. So for a $90 to $100, I get to hang out and look at different. different people in the eyes and we get to touch and feel each other for the night, right? And just time to, you know, time to create some sort of relationship.
Starting point is 00:29:01 But level two, I need to have more advanced touch exercises and a pre-survey screening so the participants can work on their inner journey. Wow. There have been people go to jail for creating stuff like this. Oh, it's just to get people together is all I was doing. Wow. So just know that if you hear about the feels, it's real. And the final, okay, so throughout the experience,
Starting point is 00:29:31 pairs singles multiple times with matches based on their survey results. Oh, this is two. Okay. So the final pairing of the night is a wild card, meaning people can match with anyone they please. So each pairing kicks off with a discussion of a prompt and these prompts aren't what do you do or where you are from where in your life you are currently feel like you are okay so this is
Starting point is 00:29:57 where in your life do you currently feel like you're in the depths look and why there another might be what's something you're grateful to have learned from your parents and what's something you've had to unlearn from your parents ugh Okay, so have fun. I hope that those of you that need someone in your life, that the feels might be able to bring that to you. There's also an exercise in the fields, and I think this is the feels too.
Starting point is 00:30:32 You're not going to get this in just the regular old boring one. Pears gaze into each other's eyes for minutes on end. In another, they finger trace each other, which involves gently gliding their fingers over the other's body. They also hold each other in long embraces. Each exercise involves touching, getting preceded by a quick talk about consent between each pair. It just to me sounds like a date, but, you know, what do I know? All right, let's get out of here.
Starting point is 00:31:10 A joke of the day here on the two in the fat fat five plus. this was sent to me this is a perfect example of someone who's trying and they're writing jokes and they're trying but you know we need to I don't know to try a little bit harder you know what I'm saying so why can't Helen Keller drive
Starting point is 00:31:28 I don't know why can't Hellen Keller drive because she died in 1968 and the deceased are incapable of operating a motor vehicle see what I mean you need a lot of work there because I get it.
Starting point is 00:31:45 It's true. Absolutely true. But there's other... I understand. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at theblaze.com slash podcasts.
