Starting point is 00:00:00 At Desjardin, we speak business. We speak equipment modernization. We're fluent in data digitization and expansion into foreign markets. So join the more than 400,000 Canadian entrepreneurs who already count on us. And contact Desjardin today.
Starting point is 00:00:25 We'd love to talk. Business. Blaze Radio Network. And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. This is incredible. So Starbucks isn't just a coffee company. It's a bank. In 2022, it held over $1.6 billion in customer deposits.
Starting point is 00:00:49 And I think we've talked about that before. But we haven't really talked about how they go about doing it. And they're using your money for free. I mean, we've talked about paying your bills early. and how companies you could use that money for free for however long you have until your actual due date, they can use that money for free. But every time you load money into the Starbucks app or a gift card, you're giving Starbucks an interest-free loan.
Starting point is 00:01:17 But you don't get any interest back. There's no insurance. There's no rewards for holding your money. Starbucks gets all of that money for free. So, for example, let's say you loaded $10. into your Starbucks card. It doesn't move. It just sits there waiting.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Meanwhile, Starbucks is using your money behind the scenes to grow faster, cheaper, and smarter on the subject. So, like I said, in 2022, they had $1.6 billion sitting in Starbucks accounts, and there's plenty of small banks around the country that don't have that money in their accounts. But most of that money comes from small, unspent balances. Say you load $25. you spend the 2243 and you forget the rest.
Starting point is 00:02:03 I do not. If I have $2 on a card, I use it. I may spend $3 and have to use another dollar cash, but I use the entire amount on the card just because it irks me that that money is just sitting there. So you multiply that by millions of customers. Those can accumulate into a substantial interest-free loan for Starbucks. And Starbucks calls it stored value,
Starting point is 00:02:30 revenue. Huh. Yeah. It's a liability on their books, but in practice, it's cashed they control instantly and for free. So you can earn two stars. This is how it works, and it's genius, actually. You earn two stars per dollar when you pay using preloaded funds, and only one star if you pay with the card. So those stars add up, so like 100 stars, you get a free coffee. So they reward you for loading money, but there's no rush for you to spend that much. They're just happy that it's sitting there in their account and not in yours and you've given them an interest-free loan and they reinvest that money into operations expansion and growth. No credit checks, no paperwork, no regulations, just billions in free-floating capital from loyal customers. Yeah, even banks don't even have it that easy.
Starting point is 00:03:22 I mean, they're regulated and they pay interest and they are working hard to earn your trust. Ha! Starbucks? No way. They built a smooth app, added a reward system, and we line up to preload our cash to earn a free drink. So according to this, it's not just a financial play, it's psychological. When you preload money, it stops feeling like real spending. So you're not handing over $6.
Starting point is 00:03:47 You're just using a balance that already feels gone. And that makes it real easy to spend. And it makes it also real easy just to let it sit there and forget about it because you're happy that it's already there if you want to use it. Starbucks says, thank you, we're using that money for ourselves. Really, really amazing. And you are locked into using Starbucks. That's the beauty of the whole deal. So I just find it fascinating that, I mean, most brands dream of a system that could pull that off.
Starting point is 00:04:20 And Starbucks has pulled it off. And it turned into a daily habit for millions of people. So really, they're not just selling coffee, according to this. They're running a financial engine behind the scenes. And so many people don't even have any idea. You do now and I do now. And I don't know what to do about it. Maybe not go to Starbucks.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Maybe not, if you have money on a gift card, use it. If you have put, if you put money into a into their account so you could get earned stars when you buy coffee through your card, use it. Don't forget about it because they just love you. you when it just sits there and they get to use your money for free. Welcome. Welcome to Chewing the Fat. Well, we are pretty sure on Friday that it wasn't going to happen, but we didn't know for sure. We thought maybe TikTok may go dark this weekend. But no, no, it didn't happen. For those of you listening live, today is the 7th of April of 2025. So on Friday afternoon, President Trump added another 75 days to the TikTok deadline.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Chinese parent company Bite Dance now has until June 19th to sell the popular social media app to a non-Chinese company or risk being banned in the U.S. What do we just keep extending it? And we'll just, they'll never be banned. The latest extension is the second one granted to the company effort after its original January 19th deadline was delayed by 75 days. so the administration has said to be considering a number of bids from U.S. companies to buy TikTok.
Starting point is 00:06:09 That's great. But Bight Dance has to agree to it. We'll see if that happens. With the tariffs happening at the same time, it could be rough sledding. But they have 75 days. And until then, your TikTok account still works. So you can breathe easy. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:06:28 You'll still be able to get your ASMR channels on TikTok. It's okay. I think tomorrow is the day that the mega millions ticket goes up in price. So it was $2 and then if you played a megaball, it was $3. Now the regular cost is $5. And according to the mega millions people, the prizes will be bigger and jackpots will grow faster. Yay! And so players who would have won $2 or $500 in the old format will now win
Starting point is 00:07:03 $10 and 50 in between 1,000 and 5,000. Okay, we'll see if that works. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot also improved, which is good news for anyone playing in the 45 states that carry the Mega Millions drawing. Instead of 1 in 302.6 million, which seems almost astronomical, you now have a chance of 1 in 290. million to win the jackpot. So that's kind of cool.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Isn't it, though? And remember, you know, you can't win if you don't play. Boy, five bucks a pop though. Now you're now for, you know, it used to be if you'd get the powerball and the mega with the power play and the megaball, that's $6. Now you've got to dump just five bucks on the mega millions. Better pay off. Otherwise, people aren't going to play.
Starting point is 00:08:03 then your jackpots are nothing. And if you don't win, the jackpot is still zero. So we'll see how that works out for mega millions. Might have to, you know, might have to give it a shot. And even if you win the mega millions or the powerball, you're still going to want to be prepared if an emergency strikes because you're going to even want to be more prepared because you've got, you know, hopefully a couple hundred million dollars
Starting point is 00:08:27 in the bank account. And you're going to want to protect that and yourself. And you need to protect you. need to protect yourself with a Jace case. I mean, we live in a world that's constantly changing in ways we don't even see coming. But the one thing that will always remain the same is the need to be ready now and you've got to have some emergency preparedness. You know, emergency contacts, an evacuation route, a meeting places, a getaway bag with important documents, flashlights, batteries, non-perishable food, and of course, the Jace case. You can go to Jace.com and get your Jace.com and get your Jace.
Starting point is 00:09:02 case today. Now, the Jace case is a personalized emergency kit that contains essential antibiotics and medications that treat the most common and deadly bacterial infections. It provides five life-saving antibiotics for emergency use, and they even have ivermectin as an add-on. In fact, they have a new case called the use case, and that's for parasites. Uh, doesn't it? Nobody wants parasites. You can quote me on that. So the use case is, uh, iVorkees. Iversight, Pevermectin plus Mabendizal. I think that's how you pronounce it, isn't it? Mabendazole.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Yeah, that's what I said. Mbendazol. Yeah, that's what I said. So you can get the use case for parasites. You don't want parasites crawling around in your body, and that is for sure. So it's the most affordable option on the market. You can order it at jace.com. It's prescribed a 90-day supply delivered directly to you.
Starting point is 00:10:01 So go to jace.com, jace.com to get your Jace case and or your use case and get yourself prepared just in case. Just in case. Jace.com, they have a giveaway that you can enter in. And you can also go to Jase.com, you know, just to purchase those goods. Starting point is 00:11:03 Houston, Texas area residents have been accused of operating an illegal gambling business, including game rooms that made more than $22 million in proceeds. That's what the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas said.
Starting point is 00:11:21 And he busted, they had a big operation this weekend. And it started on Thursday. They claim that this Nazar ally, Ali, Nazar Eli, A. Eli, of Richmond, Texas, and his alleged accomplices conspired to own, operate, or assist in the operation of illegal game rooms. The group also allegedly conspired to conceal and disguise the money made from the illegal gambling scheme by conducting fraudulent financial transactions. Yeah, you can't be doing that. That's called money laundering.
Starting point is 00:11:57 And there was a huge list of people that they arrested. Now, there's two additional people charged that are on the run. Those are fugitives. Warrants remain outstanding for their arrest. And that's Sayat Ali, 59. and Stephanie Herota, 35 of Houston. So they are fugitives. If you see them, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:20 you can turn them in or you can look the other way. That's up to you. So they had 700 law enforcement officers from 18 agencies, more than 700 law of enforcement officers. 18 agencies served 45 search and 40 seizure warrants
Starting point is 00:12:36 at locations throughout Houston and the surrounding area according to the Justice Department. So if you used to gambling at one of these places. Don't show up. Keep on driving when you're driving by. 30 of those locations were illegal game rooms with names like El Porto and Yellow Building.
Starting point is 00:12:57 That's genius. And of course, when you have a bus this big, you have to have a huge name for it. Oh my gosh. Bring back the Canon theme. I like it. Canon. starring William Conrad. Starring William Conrad.
Starting point is 00:13:25 Tonight's episode, Operation Double Down. So they recovered more than $4.5 million in cash, $5 million in property and vehicles, 2,000 slot machines, 100 Rolex watches, and eight firearms. The Justice Department said that additionally, law enforcement seized about 6.5 million. from bank accounts and other financial institutions.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Okay. So, Nazir Alley, who was apprehended, is also charged with 32 counts of federal program bribery for allegedly paying more than $500,000 to an undercover officer to try and protect the illegal game rooms from being busted by law enforcement. If convicted on these charges, he faces up to 10 years for each count. So that would be 320 years. probably not getting out of prison because of Operation Double Down.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Tonight's episode, Operation Double Down. That's a cute gambling reference. It doesn't have anything to do with eating. So I won't mention that Texas Roadhouse is now the number one restaurant in the U.S. for casual dining. Or maybe I will. And you can double down at the old Texas Roadhouse. And you know what, I'll take two stakes tonight because you're the number one casual dining chain in America. Olive Garden was number one for the past, I don't know, five or six years.
Starting point is 00:15:22 And they took a hit. So Texas Roadhouse became number one. So you had Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden just dropped down to two. And then you had chilies, applebees, and buffalo wild wings. It took the three, four, and five slot in this year's year to year. year growth in the casual dining chains. So Texas Roadhouse grew 14.7% pulling in 5.5 billion. They only have like, they have over 700 locations.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Olive Garden got 0.8% growth, but they, to the tune of like 5.2 billion, so they're still okay. But they have over 900 locations. Chili's has 1,200 locations, Applebee's 1,500, Buffalo Wild Wings over 1,200. So they're cranking in some money. And all of those, I think I'm pretty good with eating there. Olive Garden, sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Applebee's, eh, used to be okay. Chili's, eh, used to be okay. Buffalo Wild Wings, I mean, one of my sons works at Buffalo Wild Wings, so I have to like it. And I do, actually. The honey barbecue wings, and they have great fries at Buffalo Wild Wings. I will say that. They do know how to make their French fries, which I am a fan. of. I know that comes as a surprise, but congratulations to Texas Roadhouse for becoming the number
Starting point is 00:16:47 one casual dining chain restaurant in America. Before we head into the break room, I'd like to tell you that there is a growing expense eating into your company's profits. It's your cloud computing bill. You may have gotten a deal to start, but now the spend is sky high and increasing every year. What if you could cut your cloud computing bill? Starting point is 00:18:10 I need something cold to drink desperately. Wow, the movie Minecraft, I'm sorry, a Minecraft movie brought in $157 million in its domestic opening, which was number one. It also grand totaled 300 million global, so doing pretty good, which smashes the Super Mario Brothers movie record. which was 146.36.36 million for the biggest video game adaptation opening ever. Okay, calm down. So the Super Mario Brothers record was 146.36.36 million, and it was the biggest video game adaptation opening ever. I think I said, adaptation.
Starting point is 00:19:03 But now it's not number one because a Minecraft movie now has the biggest video game adaptation opening ever. Hey, congratulations. Then a working man, the chosen last upper part two, Snow White, still hanging in there in the top five, but not for long. Only $6.09,
Starting point is 00:19:29 down another 58%. Yeah, they've only made $77 million on that movie. Oh my gosh. That's going to go down as one of the biggest blusters of all time. Number five was Woman in the Yard.
Starting point is 00:19:45 That's the second week at $4.5 million. Dropped 50% though. It's got a total of $16.67 million. We'll see. It's doing okay. The woman in the yard. We'll see. I wonder how much they could cost to make that.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Probably nothing. I mean, it may as well have been. It was only $12 million. So they've already made their money back. That's good money for those. Then you had a death of a unicorn. The Chosen Last Supper was 7th, so you had the chosen last supper part 2, third,
Starting point is 00:20:14 and the chosen last supper part 1, 7, both in the top 10. Wow, that's good for them. Number 8 was hell of a summer. Number 9 was The Friend. And number 10 was Captain America, Brave New World. Just made a little over a million, 1 million.39 domestic, which brings its total to just under 200 million domestic. and it doesn't say what Captain America has done globally.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Must not be very good. Oh, here we goes. Okay, so it's 400 million mark globally. They passed that. Wow, that still means that it's among the lowest grossing films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ooh. Okay, good luck, God bless.
Starting point is 00:21:03 So I was happy and sad that this, weekends 1923 was the season finale I started playing it and we got into it and I was thinking it was going to come to an end
Starting point is 00:21:17 and we have to wait till next week and then I pause it and it's two hours I was thinking oh no this is it this is the end we're done and it was and wow you want to talk about
Starting point is 00:21:30 just ripping your guts out at the end of 1923 it's been fantastic if you have not watched 1923 on Paramount Plus. It's a Taylor Sheridan show. This season two has been really good.
Starting point is 00:21:45 But it's also been frustrating because of the deaths involved. Now, there's been several people who died that you were happy that they died. And, man, I mean, you were happy. Like, a bullet could not find them soon enough. And that's one thing they had in this final episode was an unlimited bullet budget because there was plenty of shootouts. And nobody ran out of bullets. Well, except a couple of the bad guys.
Starting point is 00:22:17 But there were a few people during the show that could not die soon enough. They needed to have a bullet in their head. And they got it, which is very good. I mean, a couple weeks ago, they had like seven people die on the show. And only two really were worthy of death. The others were just, no, don't kill them
Starting point is 00:22:37 but that we did anyway and so this last episode they finally I mean the two, the love story of Spencer and Alex is the true love story that's kept us alive. We had the Indian girl
Starting point is 00:22:52 that was running from the Montana Catholic Church priest Ed Ranger. We had Spencer and Alex love story and then you get back to the Yellowstone Ranch.
Starting point is 00:23:09 And you had the couple there with the one of the girl from Boston, who was tired of being on the ranch and she wants to leave. But then she gets pregnant and everything's okay again. Well, it's okay until hubby gets killed. And then there's no reason to stay at the ranch. Yep. That's the way it goes. And then Spencer is coming from Africa.
Starting point is 00:23:31 And he gets separated from Alex and their story of, getting back to Montana and how they find each other once they were apart is incredible. And that's almost, it was unbelievable. But at the same time, you're like, well, of course, that's it. That's it. She had promised and they're going to find each other. And she was hollering at God and God answered her. But then at the end, God did answer her, but said, this is all you're going to get.
Starting point is 00:24:01 I mean, it was just that we had to, we, she had to die too. It was just really, really sad. And then it claimed at the end, it kind of wrapped up the whole thing, leading us into the next Yellowstone series and some of the timeline of John Dutton, who is our John Dutton, the Yellowstone franchise at the beginning, Kevin Costner's John Dutton. It kind of blurs who he is from
Starting point is 00:24:28 because Spencer has a kid and the Jack, Spencer's brother, has a kid that went to grow up in Boston. And I think in the storyline as they're ending the show, it says he never remarried, but I think it said, and I'm going to go back and listen, I didn't get an opportunity to do this because the timeline has got to be who's our John Dutton's dad is, I think they said in that storyline that he never remarried, but he had another kid. So I think, that is added because that's the timeline that gets you to John, which our John Dutton. Because in 1883 was the very beginning. And then at 1923, you've got our John Dutton's
Starting point is 00:25:19 grandparents, right? It'd be his grandparents. Right. So anyway, it's just the timeline gets a little fuzzy on how we get to it. But anyway, it was really, the whole series was really, really, really good. And, you know, and disappointing at the same time. Her coming into the country, uh, at Ellis Island was awesome.
Starting point is 00:25:41 A great scene. She was a great scene of her trying to get into the country. And, uh, you know, I mean, heck, what is it? 40% of Americans have ancestors who immigrated through Ellis Island. Yeah. People came into the country that way. And when she was, when she was coming by one of my favorite lines,
Starting point is 00:25:57 when she's coming, uh, to England from the UK, she finally gets, uh, She sells her jewelry and she's going to come to the U.S. to try to hook up with Spencer and Montana. And she gets a ticket and her friend helps her out and she goes, I want to help you and I think you're doing the right thing. But second class, she came across second class.
Starting point is 00:26:21 And that was a mistake. That was a huge mistake. She should have gone first class. I know she was trying to keep away from her family. But if she'd have gone first class, things would have been different heading into America. And then her trip across the country from New York on the train, getting robbed before the train,
Starting point is 00:26:44 and then getting raped on the train, and almost going to jail for murder. And then she runs into a happy couple. And the happy couple, the happy couple stopped at a grocery store. It was like the buckies of the day. and the person working behind the counter told them, hey, don't take your car, dubbies, take the train.
Starting point is 00:27:08 And they didn't listen. And that was a huge mistake. And that's what cost them their lives. Very sad. They should have listened to the old lady at the Buckees of 1923. And they didn't. And then it's just so sad at the end and she dies. I didn't want her to die.
Starting point is 00:27:26 And then they have a baby that was premature. There were a number of things that happened that you have to kind of, you know, have to let that go. You just got to, oh, that couldn't happen. I know, but it's the show. So you just kind of got to let it go. Like when they finally, when they see each other again, as she's broken down in the snow and the winter in Montana, and he sees her from the train and jumps off the train. It just, you know, I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:27:55 I know. I get it. That it's probably, you know, not going to happen in real life. but I wanted to. And so we, you know, I'd let it go because I was happy that they were finally together. After all that, they were finally together. And yet it ends up being
Starting point is 00:28:08 a lost love all over again. I did like the line from Harrison Ford to Helen or as they were the Dutton's on the porch after she died and Spencer was back and headed out and they were on the porch. And she, Helen asked Harrison,
Starting point is 00:28:28 what she was like. And he answered, if a shooting star could talk. I thought that was a great analogy. It makes, you realize what she was. She was a shooting star that could talk. And I thought that was,
Starting point is 00:28:45 I thought that was a really good analogy. Anyway, 1923 was incredible. And then we had Mobland, episode two of Mobland. That shows a really good. A lot of blood and guts and a lot of badassery in Mobland. And then, of course, we have the NCAA final four on Saturday.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Both games were great. Florida and Auburn and Houston and Duke were great games down to the wire. All the teams played great and Duke ended up losing. So tonight, for those of you listening live, as I said, it's the 7th of April 2025, the NCAA men's basketball championship is tonight. Florida versus Houston coming to you from the Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas. starts at 8.50 p.m. Eastern. And I would love to see Florida beat Houston and get the championship.
Starting point is 00:29:46 But I don't know that they can. But both these teams, Houston and Florida, both are down-to-the-wire teams. So it's well worth. the watch. I don't know that I can make the whole game. I've got to do Pat Gray Unleashed all week. So that show starts at 6 a.m. every day, so I'm up early for that.
Starting point is 00:30:05 And I don't know that I can make it. So central time, that's 7.50. It's not going to be over until what, 10.50? I don't know. I'd like to get more than a couple hours of sleep is what I'd like to do. But it'll be worth watching.
Starting point is 00:30:22 And then, of course, we had the women's national championship yesterday afternoon, and the Yukon Huskies defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks, and they crushed them. So congratulations. I forgot all about it. I actually did mean to watch some of it, and I was watching, I watched 1923, and then I watched Mobland, and then I was like, oh, crap, the women's basketball's on, and I turned it on, it was over. And I was really bummed. Man, I was bummed. And then I moved on. This episode is brought to you by Peloton.

And you can also order a cameo from me at any time at Jeffey JFR on the Cameo app. At Jeffey JFR on the Cameo app. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Michael Hurley. Michael Hurley, dead at the age of 83. And I know what you're thinking. Michael Hurley, do you mean the eccentric singer and songwriter who pioneered the freak folk movement and inspired generations of artists? Yes, that's who I'm talking about, Michael Hurley. Dead at 83. And they did not, they did not. give a cause of death, but they did let us know that the godfather of freak folk was for,
Starting point is 00:33:08 you know, at least that's what he was, his title was for half a century. The purveyor of an eccentric genius and compassionate wit, he alone was snock. There is no other. Friends and family and the music community deeply mourn his loss. So Michael Hurley, rest in peace, dead at the age of 83. Then we have Jay North. J. North, dead at the age of 73. You mean the J. North that played Dennis the Menace?
Starting point is 00:33:39 Yes, that's the Jay North who played Dennis the Menace. He played his Dennis the Menace years ago. And it's very sad. He died of colorectal cancer, which he had been struggling with over the years. And finally, the colorectal cancer won the battle. and he passed away at the age of 73. I mean, he was a star as like a six-year-old kid.
Starting point is 00:34:06 And I played in all these shows. And he was, you know, Dennis the Menace. But for years, I mean, he showed up on, you know, shows like a wagon train and the Lucy show and Arabian nights. He was the guy. So, rest in peace, Jay North, dead at the age of 73. Then we have Dylan Grant. 24. Dylan Grant, 24. He was a bull rider, and he was at the Wharton County Youth Fair Extreme Bulls show. When he was bucked off a bull named commander, the bull stepped on Grant.
Starting point is 00:34:47 He was rushed into an ambulance and then airlifted to a hospital in Houston, but it was to no avail. And he died from his injuries. Very sad. Dylan Grant, 24. Rest in peace. And the numbers keep growing from Miramar, the quake deaths. They're now above 3,350 people that they've found from the quake deaths in Miramar. Wow. And they're still continuing to pull people out of the wreckage. And I guess there's been storms that have slowed and hampered their rescue. So it'll be a while before we get a total toll of the earthquake death.
Starting point is 00:35:29 from Miramar, but wow, so many lives lost. Rest and peace to all of those souls. You know, then we have a hospital, a Newton-Welsley Hospital in Boston. Nurses at this hospital say they're concerned about a growing number of cancer cases among long-time nurses who have been working on a fifth-floor maternal care ward.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Huh. One nurse who recently, who was recently diagnosed with a brain-trial, tumor described going to work with a bad feeling in her gut each day. The woman who had asked not to be identified said she is not alone among her nursing colleagues. It's getting to a point where the number just increases and you start saying, Am I crazy thinking this? This can't just be a coincidence.
Starting point is 00:36:17 No, it probably is not at all. The nurse claims as many as 10 nurses who work on the fifth floor have been diagnosed with different brain tumors over the last few years, some cancerous, some not. She said three have had surgery and believes the hospital has not been supportive enough. Well, yeah, if they admit something is wrong with the fifth floor, now you're talking about a serious lawsuit going on. So they, I guess the hospital is investigating it. And they've investigated, they've interviewed eight nurses in this investigation,
Starting point is 00:36:49 five of whom it said had benign brain tumors. None of them were cancerous, according to the hospital spokesman. Uh-huh. So there was, according to, to the hospital, they said in a statement that an investigation found no environmental risks. Okay. Then I guess we're done here. We just wrap it up.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Couldn't have anything to do with that, could it? No, because if it would have had something to do with that, and now we're just taking our eye off the ball by saying it's the hospital. That's the problem because they all work together on the fifth floor. we're not looking to the idea that it was that. And I would be willing to bet that every one of these nurses at this Massachusetts hospital was vaccinated for that. Don't you think?
Starting point is 00:37:41 Yeah, of course. But I'm sure it had nothing to do with that. Otherwise, they would have mentioned it. And we had a Pope siding this weekend. Yes, we had a Pope siding. Pope Francis made a surprise appearance at St. Peter's Square Sunday. They rolled him out on the ledge. He does not look that good.
Starting point is 00:38:00 I guess maybe you could say he's looking better, but he did not look that good. Now, this picture that they have of him doesn't show the oxygen cord. They claim he was out on the, made his appearance with the oxygen in his nose. So he appeared with an oxygen canola under his nose. Well, he spoke briefly and waved to the crowd. He appeared after a mass for the Jubilee of the Sick and Hens. health care workers. It was the first public appearance since being released from the hospital, March 23rd. Apparently, he still has oxygen during the day, and he uses supplemental oxygen,
Starting point is 00:38:41 or I mean high flow oxygen at night during the day he has a supplemental oxygen. And they all put in here as needed. Uh-huh. Well, if you're out rolling around during the day with the oxygen, it's as needed, like, all the time. So we did have a Pope's setting. And And the Pope Francis still rolls on. Boarding for flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes. Ugh, what? Sounds like Ojo time. Play Ojo? Great idea.

And there's so much to share from a lifetime of experience. No kidding. So in Argentina, some seniors are turning to podcast to share their stories. So this 97-year-old Alberto Cheb posted a video online from his home in Buenos Aires with the help of his granddaughter, calling for others around his age to unite and talk about what's going on in their lives. And thousands have responded and they've got hundreds of emails and it's the need for seniors. So they've started their podcast.
Starting point is 00:40:32 90 and counting. Seniors discuss anything from due. viewing the tango to healthy habits, to affection and ways of connecting. Yeah, a little business at the nursing home. Many of the clips are shared on the 90 and counting Instagram page. And that's good news. So if you want to hear about what's happening to old people,
Starting point is 00:40:55 and I mean old old people in their 90s, 90s and counting is the podcast for you. However, I don't think they're speaking English. So I hope you understand. the language that they're talking in. And you can obviously follow them on Instagram. 90 and counting. N-I-N-E-T-Y- and A-N-D.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Counting. I think that's, I mean, that's what they say their Instagram page is. Let's check out what it actually is. Shall we? Yeah, it is not in English. It's 90 incantando. So, if you, if you can speak that, language and understand it, go ahead and give it a listen. 90 and counting, but the Instagram page is
Starting point is 00:41:43 Naveente contando. And then we have a German lady, a 66-year-old German lady, who has given birth to her 10th child. Wow. Alexandra Hilda Brent. It's Hilda Brandt, I know, I got it. Owner of the Wall Museum at Checkpoint. Charlie in Berlin. Welcome her new son, Philip. Well, congratulations. Her first child was born back in 1977, followed by eight children after she turned 50. Now, they were all born via C-section,
Starting point is 00:42:25 but her children are Svedlana, 45, Artem, 36. She has twins, Elizabeth and Maximilian, who are 12. Alexandra is 12. Alexandra is 10, Leopold is 8, Anna is 7, Maria is 4, Catherine is 2, and the newest baby Philip is a little bouncing baby boy, 7 pounds, 13 ounces. She claims that she feels like she's 35. Do you? Do you feel like you're 35? Okay. All right. I'll give you the joke of the day. Kind of fitting. It's about two old ladies and from a nursing home. So it fits in with our old people theme as we end the show. This was sent in from Bill to chewing the fat at the blaze.com. He said love the show. Aw. Thank you, Bill. Appreciate it. This is his joke of the day. Two old ladies outside. It doesn't say whether he wrote it or not. So I'm just, I don't think. I don't.
Starting point is 00:43:36 You know, if he wrote it, good for him. If he didn't, then it was stolen just like many of our jokes, and just enjoy the joke. Two old ladies at the nursing home are having a smoke. And it started to rain. They're outside, of course. They don't allow you to smoke inside a nursing home. And one lady pulls out a condom and cuts the end off and puts it over her cigarette.
Starting point is 00:43:58 The other lady asks, what is that? The lady tells her it's a condom. You get them at the corner of a drugstore. Oh, so the next day, the old lady goes to the drugstore and asks where the condoms are located. The druggist seeing her advanced age jokes, what size do you want? And the old lady says, it doesn't matter as long as it fits a camel. See, because what she was, no, I mean, you understand.
