Season one, episode two, The Walking Dead, the ones who live.
Remember, this is the Rick and Michaud story.
The love story between Rick and Michone changed by a world that is constantly changing.
Will they find themselves in a war against the living,
or will they discover that they too are the walking dead?
This episode titled Gone.
The episode description on IMDB, after Rick's sacrifice to save his group,
Everyone believed he was gone apart from a couple of people who dedicated a long time to search for their friend.
This is Talking Walking Dead.
Welcome to it.
Myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Butchell, and Maximus Fisher, Talking Walking Dead, Episode 2, Gone.
My first gut reaction to this episode is they gave us another great character and killed him off.
I was very sad.
Same.
Very sad to me.
Ned.
Did you go?
I mean, the short person.
I mean, the little person.
He's slur now, Dad.
Be careful.
He was good, man.
I really liked her, too.
She was great.
It was great.
So she ran into this traveling circus community.
We saw them in Michaud's last episode of the Walking Head, too, with those two people.
Remember, she's like, where are you guys from?
And they point and you just see this caravan.
Right, right, right, right, right.
And we also had the vision of the in the Walking Dead of her seeing the the horde, right?
Remember, was that on the Walking Dead or was that in another app?
Was that just a trailer?
I think that was a trailer.
Okay.
I just remember seeing that giant hoard before.
Yeah.
Before last night.
Probably when it was still supposed to be a movie.
That was a scene from the movie, I'm sure.
That's possible.
Because that was a long time ago.
It seems like that was kind of around World Beyond era.
Yeah.
I mean, that was a long, you're right.
That was a long time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But it was a fascinating shot.
Anyway, am I speaking blasphemy when I say there was less Rick in this, but I actually
enjoyed this episode more than the other one?
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
This episode was good.
Okay.
Yeah, I found myself actually enjoying it because it was like more of the spirit of walking
dead.
Yeah.
You know, like this, this random group just trying to survive out in the elements.
It was good.
I just enjoyed it.
And we got, dad thought we were just going to end the episode, like last episode ended with them finding each other.
And then we're going to get the full reunion next episode.
But nope, we got like 20 minutes of after.
That was an hour and 20 minutes, wasn't it?
Something like that.
It was a long episode.
Yeah, it was a long episode.
I enjoyed it.
No question.
Fascinating to me, the, you know, the midget community.
I'm sorry, the traveling circus community.
I mean, just the regular community.
They were not all midgets.
It was the one midget.
Dad.
Did you really?
Did you really see them?
Yeah, in your mind, they were all.
In my mind, they were everyone who were midgett.
Was I watching another episode maybe?
This is going to get us canceled.
This is the one thing that's going to do it.
Instantly watching like the Wizard of Oz.
There was like a munchkin community.
That's what I saw.
If that wasn't the kid.
case, I apologize.
But I don't know what that community was.
It was cool.
And, you know, I love the idea of the boss lady, you know, wanting to question Michone.
And they're all like, just give her the horse.
What are we even doing?
She saved us.
Just let her be.
And, you know, the head lady knew that she was going to bring division to the community.
And she did.
Yeah.
And they kept talking about how they would leave people or let them die.
or whatever.
Like if you split from the caravan, they're not coming for you.
Yeah.
It was kind of like, that's pretty much what we've seen in this world is every time a
community gets larger, you know, they have to become a little more authoritarian,
and a little more ruthless to continue to survive.
Really except for like, yeah, except for like the Alexandria community.
They're like kind of like the only outliers there.
Really, I, and I enjoyed it when they were all together.
And, you know, it was cool to get to know it was Nat, right?
Yes.
They were calling it not Nate, but Nat.
I thought it was Ned.
Okay.
No, I don't think it's Nat.
And he was, I loved his character, and I was very sad to see him get killed.
I know that we all, you know, it's, it's, you know, walking dead and no characters are safe.
But, you know, he for sure, I would have liked to see him survive.
Yeah, when you have a good character and you've built them up, why instantly kill him?
No, back-to-back episodes of great character buildup.
How many-great character build-up?
How many bad characters are they had where they make them staples of the show?
What is you doing?
We have Okafore in the last episode.
We thought, oh, God, we have another, like, awesome CRM dude, and he's like, I want to change it from the inside.
Blows up.
Yeah.
Very sad.
And I like, I know we're jumping ahead here, but when we saw the takedown of the helicopter
through the eyes of Michone and Matt this week.
His first shot, he thought, was a miss.
He said, DUD.
But it wasn't.
Yeah, how's the shot they got over, which was awesome.
Just didn't explode, but it hit the mark.
Yeah, it was awesome.
He was incredibly accurate with that thing.
I think it's badass.
All he had to do was, like, close one eye, you know, and that was all he needed for a
sighting system.
There's a little camera tripod up there for his arm, and we're good to go.
We're rifling that bad boy off.
What did they call those?
screamers or something like that?
Maybe, but the, they,
it was funny because the,
we have a new Walker name,
we have a new zombie name,
Whalers.
Yeah, they called them whalings, right?
Yeah, whaling.
Wailings.
That's stupid.
I thought so too.
And then, you know,
okay, so I know,
uh,
we have Max throws me into it,
another,
uh,
another chat,
but,
uh,
that's when,
when Rick was talking,
Mishone into,
you can't run, we can't go, we've got to arrest you,
or you've got to be a part of it.
Otherwise, we're just going to die.
He said, don't call them walkers.
That's what I call them.
Yeah.
Don't call because then they'll know.
Yeah.
We're the same people.
Yeah.
That was really best.
That was awesome.
Yeah, it was awesome.
Now, let's back up for a little bit when the circus caravan was out gallivanting,
taking Michelle and deciding to leave and go look for.
and they get gassed by CRM.
Because they're getting too close.
I thought it was a really good scene.
They'm all getting gassed.
And they all die.
Yeah, they go away.
I thought for sure at least the one guy would live.
Nope.
They all die.
Pregnantly he dies.
The only two that survive are Nat and Michaud,
who then rehabit a Havertees,
which I found fascinating.
It was Haverdees. It said Haverdees.
I believe I've purchased furniture from a Haverdee, so I'm a fan.
I'm glad that they helped those to arrive.
Yeah, that was incredibly intact.
That was like, wow, that's like an amazing bed that's in that store.
Like someone would have ganked that a long time.
Right.
The whole thing, there was the whole setup in that store and it's still there, no way.
Actually, maybe not.
Agreed.
Maybe they wouldn't have stole all of it only because CRM might have set up around there and
like, oh, people are getting too close.
CRM would have ganged it.
Yeah, that would have, right.
They would have taken that into the city.
That was a nice luxury bed.
Right, Haverdez has furniture.
You've sat on Haverde's funeral.
Yes, I thought.
We bought Haverdys.
But that, that helicopter scene was dope.
I mean, it was like, it's circled around and then pointed straight at them,
and then back in the distance, you know, as it slowly got towards the camera,
all the mustard gas or whatever it was.
Yeah, it was chlorine, whatever.
Corrid gas.
I called it chlorine gas in the recap, yeah.
That was cool, man.
That was, I really felt that.
It was like, there was this sense of dread as it was happening.
You see, you have any PTSD or you okay?
A little bit, a little bit back when I was in World War I.
Me too.
Yeah, me too.
Me too.
I remember the days back on island of spice.
Anyway, the, it was a great scene.
You're on so many islands, that campaign, that island hopping campaign.
We saved the Western.
atmosphere from capitalism. Don't even start with me.
Millions.
Untold millions of lives.
But that was a great scene.
And the rehab scene, you know, I don't, I just found it difficult that they were the last two.
And then we're rehabbing and no one came to check.
No one.
They're just, they went scavenged food and they're rehabbing at the Haverdys.
To be fair.
Shone and the midget are getting to know each other.
and he's got a Zippo lighter that never runs out of Zipo fluid.
That's the kind of guy he is.
That Zipo lighter never ran out of fluid.
You're hitting that up and not the Waki-Tocke.
Well, the Wachie-Tock-Ti.
Six years.
Six years.
Saying Chichone or whatever the head.
What was she saying?
Chikon.
I can't remember what it was, but we heard her say it before is what she called
Judith at the end of the Walking Dead, like as a code name.
Hmm.
Yeah. Anyway.
What was that?
We need to remember.
That's something we should know.
Gosh, darn it.
Anyway, it was, I know.
I'm with you.
I'm a walkie-talkie still being alive.
But it was a really great scene when...
To be fair, she's only been gone about, I think, a year, maybe, maybe two, technically.
Like in Walking Dead timeline-wise.
Because she left just at the end of the Whisperer War before the Commonwealth.
I thought it said six years later.
it did it's six years after the bridge six years after the bridge oh and how long was she after the
bridge did she leave and she was then remember she stayed with and led alexandria for years and judith
was there remember how many years that's what i'm curious about uh well okay so it was like it was
about a five year time skips three or four so we're 10 years out from uh six years after the bridge
so yeah we're about a year like removed
from her leaving
the main show, like
timeline-wise.
So it would be a couple of years.
So she's not that much older.
Right.
Judith.
I was thinking she was older.
And the batteries,
Max's point is the battery still could be
survived.
That wasn't my point.
I'm trying to fix the timeline.
No, the batteries still die.
I've worked with walkie-talkie to see.
But their military
grade walker talkies still she has a solar charger with her and she just puts it out there at night i got
i got it i did like the scene where uh you know when they get to safe harbor and she realizes that
you know she she's at the point of giving up and last week rick is at the point of giving up so they both
have they both have come to uh reckon with okay i'm never going to see them again
Right. We're already, we're going to move on. I'm going to live life as best I can, but I'm never going to be able to be with each other.
And, you know, then obviously, well, they meet. It's an amazing thing. I will say, this is probably the first episode that it felt like to me that they were a couple.
prior to this I never really
had them and didn't feel right as them as a couple
this episode may have won me over a tad toward that way
yeah but this this reunion did not hold up to the
Sherry Sherry like that one was better
because it had always been a thing like their relationship had always been a thing
you know what I mean so it was just a lot greater when they finally found
each other. This was still all right.
The issue with that...
The thing is, I guarantee
you, even by the time this show is
over and say it only gets one season or maybe even
two, we'll look back on
this reunion and go, oh, it was a good reunion,
but the aftermath was amazing. Whereas
with Dwight and Sherry, one of the
best scenes in Fear the Walking Dead,
but everything after that...
It was bad.
Yeah, that was bad.
Well, I mean, okay, so
So now let's, so we have Rick and Michone together.
That gets shot.
Yeah, sad.
It's out with the last soldier that they didn't kill shoots him.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
I know.
It was sad.
It was very sad to see him go.
So Rick talks Michelle in time.
Now with them, you know, she still thinks he has his left hand because he's got the,
he's got the fake hand on.
because she doesn't
she doesn't know he has
missing a hand until they meet up
for a special business
in the warehouse
for a little quick afternoon delight
Why is you holding me Rick?
What's that?
What is that?
He looks down and he goes
That happened earlier.
Never mind.
But no, it's funny too.
They mentioned Jude, like it's funny.
They mentioned,
Michone mentions Judith like three times.
And then the first thing Rick says to her
is Judith okay.
when last episode we complained
that they barely talked about shooting.
Yeah, well, he, I mean, yeah,
he didn't even write about her.
Oh, he did, like once.
Okay, but he did, you know,
he did ask about her in there.
That's when he had to pretend like he cared
when he was ready for business
in the afternoon there in the warehouse.
And she didn't tell him about RJ.
She was about to,
and she didn't tell him about RJ.
Yeah, probably a little bit much
to drop on the guy
while they're trying to scheme how to escape.
Plus, you want to the kid.
Hours.
How many times has that conversation happened?
I know.
I know.
Are you sure?
We did a DNA test before we leave CRL.
Rick, the amount of money you owe me in child support.
We'll get in the, we'll let's just talk about that later.
Let's just talk about that.
You think I've been hunting you down for?
Yeah.
Oh, you think because I love you?
You know how much money you owe me?
Somebody's going to take out some cash.
So I did love.
She gets interrogated.
She gets interrogated, which was, you know, which was fine.
She's Dana.
She played that perfectly.
And I, you knew, at least I did, that when they showed the person watching the videotape, that was Jadis.
The only person that would know who Michone is.
What is that agreement?
I wonder.
agreement we had. Because she
wasn't, didn't care he was trying to escape
earlier. So that doesn't seem to be
the issue.
Yeah. But. Jadis clearly wanted
another powerful person
on her side when she makes a play.
Yes. So it's just one of those
like, she's really got her claws into him now.
Right. She sure does
because she knows.
So the only way
I mean, the only, she's got to
die, right? Rick's got to
eliminate her. She's going to die.
She has to.
That was a great seat
because she's like, been a while, Rick.
You look good.
You look good.
But then.
Yeah, except for that hand thing.
But it's funny, too, you think about it.
So Jadis saved him
by, like, helicopter came,
called him a B by saving, saved
him by that instead of just, okay, we'll get
what we want out of you and then you're gone.
Right.
But
after that happened.
I wonder what their agreement was because it kind of said like, hey, you can do what you want,
but you go too far. Yeah, I'm going to kill everybody.
And then she threatened, she freaking threatened to Alexander.
She was like, oh, I could bomb that place if I wanted to.
My hands are already too stained with blood to clean it off.
I have a lot of death that's going to happen in this show.
Yes.
Kind of got to be.
Yeah, there has to be.
There has to be.
Because we only have six episodes, right?
this is it six episodes one season i know they keep saying you know season one but they originally
said this was going to be one season one wrap-up season and that's they have six episodes listed
you know for upcoming shows and the episode six is called is titled the last time so i feel like
we've got the next four episodes to
wrap up everything and then that's it
with Rick and Michelle and although
the numbers have been really good
AMC Plus and AMC have been bragging about the numbers
so maybe they don't want to make it go away
we'll see I mean I wonder why this is why
after Michone and Rick left the series
kind of took a downturn in viewership
we still watch it that all the dieh
did, but the casual was like, oh, the main characters are gone.
Huh.
Yeah.
I mean, you see it a lot.
Even in like Marvel now, when you take out the main characters and throw in a bunch that the audience doesn't really connect with.
No.
Doesn't care about.
Doesn't really know.
Yeah.
It's like you're not that great.
Like, you can't make us enjoy something just because you say so, right?
Right.
You have to give us a reason.
Not everything can be a Guardians of the Galaxy where who the hell are these characters?
Oh my God, they're awesome.
Yeah.
But I don't know.
I don't know.
It's like Rick and Michone, well, at least Rick right now, knows that after talking
with Jadis, the only way home, the only way out is through this whole thing.
So whatever plan that, you know, what's his name, set in motion?
What was the guy's name?
Oh, Okafore.
That's kind of got to be the plan.
And Rick somehow has to dethrone Jadis, get up to that power level, and then dethroon.
own big time general guy somehow.
Yeah, so his girl, his girl that he was with with Okifor has, is not aware of, of, of Mishon yet.
She'll sniff around next episode, I'm sure.
Yeah.
Because Mishon is, look, when Rick said, you know, don't tell, let him know that you're strong.
Don't love who you are.
For sure, that's going to come through, right?
I mean, that's going to come through.
You don't, you're not that person.
and be able to hide it.
They're going to be like,
now this girl was doing back hand springs
and then stabbing walkers,
like no look stab.
And then she threw like five ninja stars
and took out 10 walkers with five ninjas.
How does that happen?
Like,
are you sure?
Because here's the thing,
Rick was declared a B,
let in,
and then they were like,
ah,
this guy's different.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So that,
you know,
that will come to fruition
probably next week.
So we'll see.
You know, you see the frustration on Michone's body language and face when she seized the scope of the operation at the, you know, at the end of the other.
And she has his lighter now.
She has Nat's lighter.
Yeah, danger on it.
He'll never run out of zippo fluid.
She doesn't have her sword anymore.
They stole your nickname, Jeffie.
Again, more proof that they watch this podcast.
Thank you.
Complete theft right there.
Jeffrey Danger Fisher and we all know this
That's clear
Good gosh
That's very clear
What shot?
What was good?
Which was a good line was when
When they're in the little barracks
And trying to get just some alone time together
Their bidness as you like to call it
That's right.
That's serious after she asks
Are we going to try to stop them?
And he goes and he just goes no
No we're getting out
We're not stopping these things
We're not stopping them
Can we try?
I don't know
Yeah and that was before his
conversation with Jadis. So I'm sure he's
rethinking that now. You aren't
kidding. He's got to
have to. Have to.
Have to.
That's the only way. All right.
And then the final line, which
Right. The final line hits
you in this episode. What the F are you
doing? What are you doing? What do you plan?
Because, you know, Jadis knows, absolutely
knows that that's
you know, something is up.
Right? He brought in Mishone
and it happened at the death scene of the helicopter,
and she's been, you know, quiet
because she likes to have her power over Rick.
So she's the only one that knows who Michon is.
So we'll see.
We'll see.
The only way out is to kill everybody.
I don't, how do you get out alive?
How do you get out alive?
We know how high up she is in CRM.
I consider her like,
I consider her the number two in the military,
basically at this point, because
remember we had
in World Beyond, we had the British
woman who was the mom
of the
soldier girl, remember? Yeah. And then
she still lived, but
she went to back
to the CRM, like
the regular original base, probably in Philly.
And then Jadis met up with her and like,
oh, you're arrested and wait until General
bail hears about it. Who do you think approved it?
Right.
Okay, right. So she's in jail, though.
Yeah, she's arrested. She's still alive, but she's in, like, their prison.
So there's, and Jadis had her arrested with, you know, we presume told by the general that it was okay.
She, you know, could have doctored up some bogus charges.
It doesn't sound familiar to anything that's going out in America right now. It's just a TV show.
Anyway, the, so, you know, it's going to be fascinating to see what the plan is.
Jadis is probably, well, she's definitely, you know, in charge of the CRM.
Red.
The CIA.
The red stripes.
The one with the one that, the ones that wear red.
Yeah.
So it'll be cool to see.
I don't know how you get out alive unless you just, I mean, if you were to escape, take a helicopter or whatever and escape, they're going to, they're hunting you.
Rick's not getting out alive.
Yeah.
Period.
Rick's not getting out of life.
My prediction for this show is I'm still waiting to see an episode more on General Bailey.
I think he's going to have a kid that's like the heir apparent.
He does have a kid.
I think that General Bailey does.
Yeah, remember.
I do not remember.
World beyond.
The kid that Jadis cared about casualties, she's like, oh, I don't care about casualties.
And then there was the one kid where she was.
Oh, at the school.
Yeah, at the school.
It was his son.
Yeah.
Oh, the one that was befriended by.
Yeah, hope.
Yeah.
That was General Bail's son.
Okay.
That's it.
There you go.
That's it.
He's going to come back.
Grick's going to have to off Jada somehow.
And then he's going to kill General Bailey, slide into his position.
We think everything's all right.
And then the son kills Rick.
That's what happens.
The end.
The end.
Well, no, the end will be advanced into the future.
And they'll show what society is like after everything's back to normalish.
That's it.
with the fake hand down the tombstone.
Stick into it.
And then we find out that what's her name poisoned?
What you're talking about?
Shoot.
Maggie.
Oh, yeah.
And the babies are immune to the virus.
I mean, that's been a fact for quite some time.
Both those things will be confirmed.
Thank you.
All right.
So I really enjoyed it.
I'm actually looking forward to the next week on this show.
It's just fine myself.
I'm back to, you know, how we felt during Darrell and how we felt during Dead City,
looking forward to the next episode.
So I'm really looking forward to this next episode.
I agree.
We all thought, okay, first episode was good.
Let's see how the second episode goes before we make some of our judgments.
this episode was really good
and I'm with Jason
a bit better than last week's episode
so if they keep this track up
like they did with Daryl and especially the final
half of Dead City
man we're in for a treat and I'm excited
can I go on record
this is not as good as Daryl
I hate to say it but it's not as good as Daryl
all right
to me it's to me it's so far
it's Daryl then this
then
put Dead City third
I'll put Dead City third
Where does fear go?
Where does fear go?
Fear does not register on that.
Fear doesn't register.
Fear is underneath the plunger over there.
All right.
So thanks for listening to Talking Walking Dead.
Jason Butchell, Maximus Fisher, myself, Jeff Fisher.
Be here next week.
Same Dead time.
Same Dead podcast.
Talking Walking Dead.
