Season 10, episode 12, the Walking Dead, titled Walk With Us.
Broadcasting today from CQB, the COVID-19 quarantine bunker.
That may be where it all got started.
That makes this talking walking dead.
Welcome to it.
Myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Butchell, and Maximus Fisher for talking Walking Dead.
And I just want to say that this episode was probably with a,
couple of exceptions. One of my favorite episodes.
Oh, yeah. It was really good.
I really enjoyed it. Jason?
I don't know if I, not for such a long time. Have I been like literally just like had popcorn
watching this thing and couldn't stop? Like that's how much? And then just like the different
things that you were surprised about. I don't know. When's the last time? It's been seasons since
I know. Max? I thought this episode was amazing. Yeah, I bet you did. And we'll get to that reason.
momentarily on
Mr. Gloat Fest.
Mr. Maximus Mick
gloat face over here for the last
few days. I know we're behind
today, but don't worry about it. We're still
here for you. It's okay. Thanks for coming on
board. I appreciate it. Yeah, this
episode was exciting.
The only thing that I had
just a minor issue
with is that, you know, we had the
battle
pick up where we left off from last
week, and we were, you know, we
the horde and the walls burn and we did we were we were good we got judith fighting we got lydia
leaving we had the we had the whole thing we had the uh we had magna as the walker right inside the
the hard yep you know and she wasn't dead uh no problem so jason was all happy hell yeah i was
happy but then the next thing it was just like okay it's daylight it's over wait wait
wait what that was my only kind of issue that's that's a legit uh complaint though because i was hoping
that would be a little bit longer even though there was so much good stuff later but i was i was just
okay i'll give you that the one complaint that battle should have been longer yeah it was just like
all of a sudden it went uh you know it was like uh okay it's up we're done i can agree but i think
they're saving the budget for the siege john alexandria at the end of the season oh that might be
And there was just so much stuff to fit into this episode.
So much stuff.
Multiple deaths.
Everything.
Yes, there was.
And we had great stuff during the battle, especially with, uh, Negan, a lot of Negan
throughout this episode, which was really good.
Really, really fun.
We finally got the, uh, the, uh, Alden.
Everybody broke up too.
That's what, and that, you know, we didn't see.
it was that was the end of the battle right it was like
the walls were burning the end of the battle
okay it's over and everybody is split up
a couple people went this way a couple people went that way
some people were over here it was just like
okay
you can kind of understand why they split up
but I could agree with you there a little bit
the Ezekiel thing was odd
like he was just like
he just pops out from underneath some like
scrap metal
What are you doing down there, buddy?
Dude, we got it.
You're scared and you got cancer, but maybe you help out a little bit.
That's what I was thinking.
It's like, what do you have to lose, dude?
You're going to die anyway.
I'm a fan of just going under some tin and laying there.
That was a Jeffie move.
Let's go ahead.
It looked more like that situation with Jeffie.
Just look under the sheet metal.
That's really.
And look more like that.
out when the wall fall in. Yeah, right, right. Yeah, that's what happened. I got knocked out. I don't remember
being down here. Is it good that I'm alive, huh? I mean, you're right, it was kind of strange.
All of a sudden, he just popped up out of there. It was like, oh, hey. So when it was daylight,
we saw Neigen walking with the, uh, with the Lucille 2.0 and then kill that one guy, put him out of
his misery. Yeah, he's walking a fine line. He's been walking a really fine line. And we did, uh,
find out for sure this episode that we were correct on our, you know, gas stimations, our expert
opinionations on, uh, him being on the inside, right? He was, he was doing this to be on the inside.
And that's what the roadblock was about, uh, last week by letting, oh, it's me. I'm still here.
I got you. And, uh, you know, I don't know that Daryl's actually.
realized that yet, but
Carol knows, right?
We found out, we find out that
Carol was probably the one that let
him out of the, of his
cell. I never, I did
not see that coming.
What's weird is, I don't think that
Negan and Carol have ever had screen time
together, have they?
They haven't. That's crazy.
Carol have never had one scene together
until this episode. Wow.
Right? That's so strange.
It was really, it was, uh,
It was, and again, as you said earlier, Jason, I mean, it was a couple of scenes where you went.
Wow.
Okay.
I like that.
Dude, can you imagine just the carnage between Carol and Negan?
Like, Carol's mind and Negan's just brute for, oh, my gosh, this is going to be interesting.
I hope they develop forward.
They will in about two or three episodes or next season.
Because, you know, the next episode we've got, we're off with Michelle, right?
and we're only going to just a little bit.
We'll probably see, I know I'm jumping ahead,
but we'll probably see Eugene, you know,
walking the trail to go for a special little meeting
with his new lover, you know,
that he wants to hook up with,
which brings in who we think is.
The Commonwealth.
And, you know, but we don't know that, right?
It could be a new group.
It's so what's strange, and we are jumping way ahead,
but that's, they're calling themselves CRM.
Isn't that right on this?
This CRM apparently is the group of people that Rick and Jadis was a part of,
or Jadis was a part of with helicopters,
and that's a part of the group which the new show World Beyond is actually going to be focusing on,
but it is pretty much been confirmed at this point.
They are not connected to the Commonwealth.
Yeah, I wonder if they were just replacing that altogether with this,
Because it seems like they're using CRM and this plot line to tie all the shows together.
And the world beyond has got to be just introducing us to what we're going to see in the movies.
That's got that's what now I'm convinced that's what this world beyond thing is for.
Just to introduce you to, you know, Julie Ormond's character.
She's one of the leaders that shows up in that trailer.
Yeah, the guy too, right?
The main guy that was on, uh, that was on the show that comes on after, except during coronavirus.
Uh, because he was dark this past week.
But the star guy, I can't remember his name, but he's probably in the movies too.
He's a big hit with the AMC insiders.
Well, the reason I mention that is because I'm wondering if, because Michone, if they, like,
if they don't do her character right, I'm going to be pissed off.
So I'm actually kind of looking forward to next episode because if she has, I mean,
I'm just expecting she's going to find out hopefully that Rick is still alive.
I'm hoping that's the case.
and maybe it's a tie to the CRM stuff.
But if she finds that out and she rides off into the sunset,
maybe going and looking for Rick,
that will be an interesting episode.
And that's how they get rid of her, right?
Yeah, because apparently it's been somewhat confirmed at this point.
Next episode will pretty much be her last episode.
Wow.
Yeah.
So that's how you get rid of her, though, right?
You're absolutely right.
Rick's alive?
Right.
Yep.
Got to go.
Screw the kids.
Screw the kids.
Screw the kids.
I'm leaving them somewhere else.
good luck, God bless, I'm going to find my man.
Okay, so now back
to the episode, during the beginning
with Negan, Alpha, and Beto
when he killed the one guy,
Alpha was just like, through the hot, remember?
Oh yeah, yeah, she was mad on how he killed it
because she still got to build up the horde, right?
She doesn't, she wants them to
to be dead, but not dead.
Dead.
But that's Neegan's way, right?
He's still, you know, he's trying to
be a whisperer,
without being a whisperer.
And it was really, it's interesting how he has warmed his way into that.
And he busted out his old nickname from the comics, the old frowny Mc2 knives.
I was so happy.
It was interesting too when Beta ran into Gamma.
And, you know, out there in the woods and killed her.
That was great scene.
Well, before that scene, it was her, Alden, and Kelly carrying Adam to just to get to, I believe, Alexandria.
Then they got kind of surrounded.
Oh, right.
And she leaves them in the van and takes the whore, you know, tries to save them by taking the horde away, which was actually, you know, nice of her.
That did, I did not expect that death at all.
I was not expecting her to die.
I honestly was not.
I actually kind of liked her because I think that her character was kind of like a vehicle for them to show that, hey,
the whispers aren't really all that bad.
They've just been brainwashed heavily by this alpha character.
And they're just surviving, right?
Right, yeah.
And heavily brainwashed, like,
turn into different people.
Well, yeah, I mean,
and we've joked around about,
you know,
the place on the other side of the wall
has a thing called a couch.
Yeah.
And a roof?
It's amazing.
It's a wonderful thing.
Like, the only two people who are really,
I believe,
truly, truly dedicated to the cause is, of course, Alpha herself and Beta.
Right, and Beta is, you know, he's there for Alpha again.
You know, he would remember, where did we find him in the crazy warehouse or whatever?
Yeah, in the mental institution or the rehab center.
So we got part of, during that fight with Gamma, we got part of his mask ripped off.
Oh, yeah.
And then that death.
When he stuck the knife in her, at first I was like, oh, that's,
sucks, but then after she ripped off
part of the mask, he just slides the
knife up and stabs in. That just
looked like it hurt.
I'm guessing,
and this is just me guessing that either way
he puts that knife in you, it hurts.
Anyway,
it's just a thought.
But it was really good, and then the guy recognizes
beta, right? He's the big, it's
you. I just want to be clear.
If you're in a group with someone
and they were someone who, and I know we're suspending reality, I got it, I got it.
But if that mask is the only thing between you and Garth Brooks, you know that it's Garth Brooks.
I'm sorry.
He did say his voice sounded familiar.
I know, but Garth Brooks looks like Garth Brooks, whether he has the whisperer mascot or not, right?
I mean, so you know who it is.
Stop it.
Betta killed him. But I know we're suspending reality. Right. And then, you know, no way. He recognized him. You're going to die. Have a nice day. And that's another comic book scene, in it, Max? Yes, it is actually. Different things because Beta in the comics was a basketball player slash actor, where he's a famous musician. But anybody who pretty much either figures it out or is close to figuring out he kills.
Right. So then we move on to, um, uh, we know that Magna.
is still alive from the walkers or at least we were guessing that she was still alive because she didn't have
walker eyes in the herd yeah yeah she came in uh and then uh she was with her former now former lover
uh that had to break up because of you jason i mean that's clear that's what i'm saying that they are
clearly listening they know what's up and uh they are altering the show to do fit you know what i'm
kind of throwing out there for them it's great absolutely yeah i mean thank you right
And I bet I've seen a lot of you guys liked was when Yumiko slugged Carol.
Oh, I pissed me off.
I know.
I was what do you think you're doing?
But you can understand why.
And if you think about what you've been doing this part of the season, you can kind of see if she kind of deserved it.
Yeah.
I guess up to that point maybe.
But she just ended it.
Got rid of her right then.
Oh, then there was the walker when she coming out of the ground
and she was just flicking the hand away.
Yeah, that was kind of strange.
What does it deal with Connie not being with her?
Is that actually some kind of plot vehicle?
Is it because she's off doing other stuff?
Probably, but remember she said they got separated in the herd?
Yeah, I know, but it seems pointless.
Yeah, it does.
Like, why do that?
The show would want you to believe that they're going to bust that out later and it's going to be meaningful.
I bet it's going to be something very minor,
and I bet you she's doing something else.
That's got to be what it was.
Well,
my guess is she's filming the Eternals right now
because she's doing Marvel right now.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, right.
That's what it is.
Yeah.
What happened?
We got separated.
Oh, okay.
Come on.
All right.
Before we pass this point,
we forgot to mention Walker Gamma,
and then Alden,
shot her instead of beta.
Right.
That was, you know, when he got, when he got gamma, you, it was really weird.
Like, I feel like, is it just because Alden didn't know who beta was, you know, what
beta was?
Because Alden was, you know, back there with Earl, you know, making iron spikes.
And he didn't realize who Bay was.
Because you'd think he had the opportunity.
You're going to want to kill Beta, right?
Beta first.
I don't know
I don't know
I think we're kind of
we're analyzing it
I think he just ran up there
and saw her
and put her out of her
kills the walker
kills her
so try to save the guy
yeah
yeah I can understand that
and then speaking of
our man
Earl
silence for Earl
Tell you this what happened
I'm still my kids
and not to kill myself
fine
I got I'm not joking
I got a little teary eyed
during that scene
I got a little teary-eyed.
He got, I mean, it was sad that he got bit, right?
He was taking care of the kids and doing what he did, and he got bit, but it was all because of those damn kids.
He's like a Scooby-Doo character.
I know.
Beddling kids.
I know.
I would have gotten bit if it wasn't for those kids.
I figured out he got bit right as he started nailing the spike in the table.
Yeah, I mean, I will say this.
I don't know.
I think I would have just had Judith stab me in the heart or something and stab me in the back of the head or something.
I know he wanted to, you know, save the kid from doing it.
But, man, smashing your head into a spike like that, I'd take some balls.
Dude, Judith, man, and we say this all the time every time she's on the show.
But she is the actresses are so damn good.
And this is kind of going back in time, but back into battle when they finally
showed her putting on a straight clinic
killing some of those walkers.
Oh, and this was her first real
person kill. This was her first
human kill.
Well, he wasn't necessarily.
You know, yeah, he was kind of still a human, but
she's, you know, she's following in dad's footsteps,
right? I mean, got to take care of business.
You gotta do what she got to do.
And if you think about it. She killed him
after he turned, though, right? No, no, this was
her first human kill because she killed the whisper.
Oh, oh, oh, yeah, right, back in the hilltop, right, right, yep.
Because he had turned really yet, right?
I mean, he was still, maybe he was just starting to turn or something.
No, I'm not talking about that.
No, I know, but now I realize that I forgot about her killing the whisperer,
and I understand that's her first human kill, although not, she attempted to kill beta, right?
And beta got lucky by having the vest on.
but with Earl
he's Mr.
badass but of course he doesn't
he falls off the entire spike
put your head entirely on the spike what are you doing
if you're going to kill yourself
do it right Earl I mean
the thing looks pretty blunt it didn't look sharp
I mean slamming your head down on that
holy cow that takes that takes some balls
can't even spike myself right
this is bull crap
damn kids
damn kids
really good
really good and so that i mean there's another great scene a great you know a great
a great scene of those kids and earl and him having to you know kill himself and then
judas is going to have to finish him off that was those are another great great series of
scenes yeah really good and then uh we might as well move on to uh you know what we had to
You know, we talked a little bit about the king and Jerry and there for the kids.
And, you know, we end up with Daryl and all of them.
Yeah.
But then.
We had Negan find Lydia.
We had Negan find Lydia and set up Alpha.
And of course, Max's prediction.
I was right.
The whole time, I remember I was, I was like, dang it, man.
It was like we had five minutes left in the show.
I was getting worried.
I actually got texted you as well what's max's confidence level is this going down it was still strong
I know it's going to happen it's going to happen it was really good really really good seeing uh seeing that happen and it was
you know and again once we got into the episode I realized that alpha all day Sunday had the
uh walking dead Instagram account take over she was answering question
and sending up, you know, behind-the-scene pictures
and telling everybody, hey, you know, answering all kinds of,
all kinds of inside questions and thank you when we had fun and do all this.
And that should, that was the sign.
I should have known that was the actual sign.
That was her signed death warrant that she was basically showing off on Instagram.
Okay, this date, you're going to die.
You can go ahead and have the Instagram all day.
Go ahead.
Rest and peace to Alpha, one of the, in my opinion,
one of the greatest walking dead villains we have ever had.
I don't know about that.
Just because of how much we hate her.
Think about it.
How much do we hate Alpha?
A lot.
That whole,
the whole buildup to that was just done so well.
It was kind of surprising to me that,
that Negan seems so like,
he almost seemed like he actually liked her.
He mentioned his wife,
kind of compared the two of them,
being bald and all that stuff.
He set her up, right?
He didn't,
he just set her up the whole time.
There's a good chance that.
I don't think so.
There's a good chance because,
remember, he locked her,
he locked Lydia up in the one cabin and tied her up.
Right.
My idea was he knew Alpha was planning on killing her daughter, which he did not like.
My idea was he was thinking about talking her out of it, and if he could, he would have brought her to Lydia.
But he couldn't.
He could not break Alpha's conviction.
So he brought her to the one cabin.
and killed her.
Well, I like that.
I'll go with that.
I'll go with, we'll give Negan, you know, half a heart and, you know, try to save her.
But he had already had the deal with Carol, though, right?
I mean, even, yeah, he had the deal with Carol that he was going to put an end to it, right?
Because there's another scene that we didn't see.
I definitely didn't see that one coming with the took you long enough.
Oh my gosh, no.
I mean, that was fantastic.
So she turns around, he slits her throat, which was.
Great.
Oh yeah, and then the scene of him holding her, right?
Oh, yeah.
It is the comic book death, right?
So not specifically, actually.
In the comics, he slits her throat, she falls down, and he cuts off her head.
In the comics, that's what happened.
But on the cover of the issue of 156, which is where he kills her.
Are you sure it was 156?
Because I was thinking it was like 155.
Yeah, I was like, 154.
Yes, I do.
And you see him
holding her, like, leaning down.
They recreated that pose
when he slitter throat and was holding her.
Yeah, so it was the recreation of the comic
books. It was really kind of cool.
But
you, I mean, I definitely
didn't see him bringing the head to Carol.
He cuts off the head, has it in the sack,
and just rolls it to Carol.
I was so good.
Took you long enough. Oh,
so good. So we have,
I have, you know, episode was, was fantastic.
I mean, really, every episode, this second half of season 10 has been really good.
It has been great.
Nah, I'm not giving them great.
I'll give them great.
I'll give them great.
This last episode was great.
There's no doubt about that.
Yeah, like I said, it's the best one that I can remember in a very long time.
I know.
Because we haven't had, we haven't had a, we haven't had a Rick.
fighting someone's neck to survive episode in a long time.
That was really good of Negan killing Alpha and the spin with doing it on the inside with Carol.
And we had some good deaths.
We had some good walkers.
I know the whole episode was really good.
Oh, we forgot to mention Negan hurting, trying to herd walkers and him failing at it and him being kind of upset about it.
I don't think he was failing at it.
He was just like, this is ridiculous, right?
Because the other guy, the other whisper hoarder was out there walking around doing it.
He was just, oh, I didn't like doing.
Like doing this is God awful stupid.
And then, of course, him running across Aaron.
Oh, that was a good scene.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, with Negan because he was trying to tell him, dude.
I got to.
Don't worry about it.
It's okay.
And Aaron just stops, let's go
like a sack of holding Luke and just
pulls out a sword.
So we have
four episodes left.
Crazy.
What you become.
Look at the flowers.
The tower.
A certain doom
is the final episode of
season 10.
So, I mean,
does this season continue on
to the last four?
Continue on as good as the
good as the previous episodes?
I certainly hope so.
I think it can.
Like I said,
normally I'm not looking forward to these
episodes like next week
where it's just one character
and it's away from the action.
But I don't know,
but I think that if it does
have something to do with teasing towards
what happened to Rick and that
CRM group,
I think it could be cool.
But I will be very pissed off
if they don't give her a good Sianara.
Like if she dies, I'll be pissed.
if it's something stupid, I'm going to be pissed.
So actually, I think the only way I'm going to be happy about next week is if she finds out, you know, my husband's still alive and she goes off looking for him.
Right, she's got to go go find out what happened to real.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then we also saw that she had Negan's bat, right?
She had Lucille.
The return of Lucille, the actual bat, which I'm happy about.
That, I was like, I saw that, and then I was like, wait a minute.
Did I just see that?
And I texted that to you.
Were you guys rewinding at that point?
I rewound that and I rewinded the Carol finding Lydia's staff, right?
Oh, yeah, Carol finding Lydia's staff there.
What the hell did she just find?
Who was that?
What did she belong to?
Yeah, who did they belong to?
Because of that whole scene of her sitting on the log there, Carol, and, you know, messing with the Walker.
And they made it appear like she was thinking about letting the Walker bite her.
But it just, I didn't, you know, I was, maybe it was just her playing with the Walker.
something to do.
She probably was thinking that
and I believe that is a comic reference
because that's how she died. She pretty much
committed suicide in the prison.
Oh, thanks. Oh, thanks. Spoiler alert.
I mean, I appreciate it.
Thank you.
Yeah. Years ago,
this is how she died in the comics.
So it's a reference.
So how does she die in the comics?
Seriously, what happens?
Carol dies in the comics by pretty much
committing suicide during the raid
on the prison and she just walks into a walker
and lets it eater.
That is how Carol dies in the comics.
That was early on though, right?
Prison.
She's not alive in the comic books now.
She died during the prison, so yes.
Right, right, right, right, right, right, right.
So she's a, she is, she is an actual comic book character.
She was so good, we continued her on, unlike Daryl, who was just a made-up TV character.
Yes.
Right.
So anything can happen now, and it doesn't, uh, it doesn't affect how.
the comic book was right so i'm looking forward to it i can't wait um if uh if we have if we do next
episode with just michaud and we give her a good send off and then we've got look at the flowers man
that could be the end of carol too we might lose carol yeah i don't think we could lose carroll but
it's definitely going to be a reference to the grove episode where she kills uh lizzie remember right i know
I know.
And then the tower, that's the fall of...
That's beta, like, probably going insane because Alpha's death died,
so he just gets all the horde and just sieges it on Alexandria.
Unleased the dragon.
Unleased the horde.
And that might be Gabriel's death.
Oh, that'd be a shame.
Although he's turned into a character I kind of like now.
I kind of like him now.
I'm sorry
I mean
He's
Okay fine
They might get his death
To someone else
We don't know
Okay fine
No I know
He's a pretty strong character now
And he can't be
With Michone gone
They've got a couple extra bucks
Right
So they could just
Throw him a couple extra bucks
And leave him alive
As far as the budget goes
Oh we might get
In one of these episodes
We might get
Negan
versus beta.
How does that?
That's going to be good.
That'd be a good fight.
That'd be fun.
Yeah, especially,
say, because next episode is the return of Lucille,
instead of Lucille 2.0 or the second or the fake point.
Say, during that fight, like in the comics,
he's either fighting him, he loses the second bat, whatever,
and he gets Lucille back.
How does he get Lucille back?
if Michona's got the bat on the island.
I don't know, but maybe there's a way, maybe not, I don't know.
But during the fight in the comics,
he, him and beta are pretty equally matched.
And then Negan gets the bat and starts just beating the crap on,
being the crap out of beta and almost wins.
He hits beta in the back one time, Lucille snaps in half.
Oh.
And Nigan gets enraged.
That would be fun.
That's going to be fun.
So that's going to be fun.
I'm looking forward to next week,
and I'm looking forward to talking Walking Dead,
even under the quarantine zone.
We're here for you.
Is the other shows, are they there for you?
No, but we are.
That's why you should subscribe to chewing the fat,
so you get alerted when talking walking dead drops every Monday,
except for this week.
It was Tuesday.
Thanks for listening.
