Season 10, episode 15 of the Walking Dead, titled The Tower.
Wow.
It was going to say last, but not least, but really it is the last until sometime later this year.
That makes this talking Walking Dead.
Welcome to it.
Myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Butchell, and Maximus Fisher.
IMDB description, the communities prepare for the final battle of the Whisperer War.
Meanwhile, Eugene's group encounters Princess.
And I will say the encounter with Princess,
especially the opening minutes, were tremendous in my eyes.
I must have watched the opening minutes,
the special opening minutes that they released earlier in the week
at least two or three times.
I felt like I was watching it all over again.
I felt it was a repeat.
It was really fun to see her meet Eugene, the King, and Yumiko.
Although I will say I was really,
really upset that Yubiko was being such a bitch.
Right?
She just really ticked me off.
Anyway, Jesus.
How did you enjoy the episode?
I both loved it, but it pissed me off at the same time.
And let me explain.
So it was a great episode.
So there was so many, there was like two, three major plot lines going on.
I wanted to know about all of them and all of the big characters were in every single one of them.
And somehow, they mysteriously were eight.
able to keep us updated on all of them
with all their big name actors.
Thank you. Why can't you
do that for every freaking episode?
It was almost as if it was possible.
I know. I thought this episode was great, too.
It had some great character moments.
Princess was really fun.
And it was just good seeing
the main casting crew together.
Yeah, she was, Princess
was good just because, like,
comedic relief has been kind of weak, I think,
on the show.
It's never really been a...
What's that?
I don't know.
It's been pretty good.
Yeah, he's the only one, really.
I mean, even Eugene used to be that,
but he's kind of fallen off
with all of his, like, you know,
serious storylines lately,
but I mean, but with her,
it was like, you had her talking to herself,
you had her calling out that
having a royal name is pretentious
right in front of the king.
It's correct.
Makes you sound old.
You know.
really funny
I know I just
it's an amazing
I spend a really good season
and I know I'm
I'm jumping to the end
here at the beginning
but it does seem to be
possible
that we have the different plot lines
but it's incredible
that we have the different plot lines
and then we have the different
plot lines in a show that
oh we can't make the next one though
wish we could
sorry you're going to get that
sometime down the road
later this year.
But all the promos,
we had promos for fear,
we had promos for World Beyond,
we have plenty of promos for the new shows,
but we can't finish this.
I'm still so angry at AMC
and the dead people, I can't tell you.
I know.
It's the gods of the programming
people over there at AMC.
They just wanted to line up
with their stupid release schedule.
As a viewer, we don't give a crap about that.
We want to see the conclusion to the series,
which I guarantee you, is in the can
it's done. They're holding it on purpose
and that pisses me the hell off.
I know that's a really good call. I did
until you had mentioned it last week,
I really did think
that it was literally
a production issue.
But it is a production issue
with the other shows.
Just not walk dead. And because
of that, it doesn't
work out with the timeline. I think you're right
on that. And even if it is a production
issue with dead, you're still upset.
Correct. That's correct.
it shouldn't have been and someone like oh I don't know who's in charge who is in charge
either Angela or what's his name Scott Gimple yeah I don't even like to remember his name
there's a problem right now he's probably not taking the fall for that because he's in charge of
the entire dead universe so it's got to be Angela right Angela needed to make that call
of we do it three weeks out we need to up the pace a little bit so we can wrap it up
We all knew that coronavirus world was upon us, and it shouldn't have been a surprise.
Anyway, we've been over that.
I apologize.
I'd tell you what, though.
Those new shows look kind of dope, though.
Yes, they do.
I don't want to be the one to remind you, Jason, but allow me, that we have been fooled by those promos before, and I refuse to be pulled by those promos again.
That's right.
I caught myself last night
Oh, that looks great.
I can't wait for that.
Stop it.
What are you doing?
This was me last year.
You've been fooled by fear multiple times.
Let's hope world beyond isn't that bad.
Yeah, no kidding.
No kidding.
That's a fact.
So it was fun.
We get back to the episode.
It was fun to
see again, you know,
Princess meet, you know,
the King and Eugene and Yiko.
And then we had
again, as Jason said, it was amazing
that we went from, you know, different
we had different
different storylines
happening during the same show.
We had beta and the
horde as he was, you know,
rounding up his heart and you got
to see him start to lose a little bit
more of his mind.
Go a little cuckoo. More than usual.
Right. Well, I mean, he's
the only thing that was grounding him
to any kind of reality was alpha.
Right. So, I mean, when she's, now when she's gone, forget about it.
He's like listening to voices or something like that in his head now?
He's in his head now. And even that one whisperer when they were leaving Alexandria,
which we'll get on to in a minute, she was just like, oh, uh, like she booked it.
Well, that was the one that we ended up seeing in the end, right? Isn't that the one that
Daryl killed? Yeah. Yeah, same one. She was like, I'm out.
I mean, and that's saying something, right? You're a whisperer, and there is a whisper.
that's too crazy for you?
Yeah, right.
I'm kind of, you know,
from the shots
we've seen of the Horde
air-quoted so far,
I'm not too impressed with the Horde.
We've seen larger hordes, right?
That's all you got for us.
I think that
it's not the full
horde yet, because
we saw it before
when Alpha showed it to Daryl
and the rest of us, and it was the biggest
horde we'd ever seen.
However, if you remember,
a good chunk of it probably
did get trapped in the cave,
and even if it didn't
get trapped, remember when
Carol blew it up, she could have blown
up a good chunk of it, too.
Yeah.
It does feel like it should be
bigger, maybe we're just, you know, as
the shots go, that's, you know,
that's what you get, and we can only afford
that many walkers.
and so
you know
it's supposed to be bigger right
but then as they were
as they were
following it as
Aaron and Alden were
finally following it as they
almost got busted up in the windmill
and I was surprised if they didn't
I don't know I think I'm almost a little
disappointed they did as I feel like
I feel like
beta knew they were there
yeah
I was fully expecting
someone to die there
I was completely floored.
Because I was talking to you guys earlier about how
like every single spoiler
like YouTuber that follows this show
they all were convinced that Aaron was dead
there. And they were like, oh my gosh, he's taking
the place of Gabriel in the comics and it's going to
happen right there and they were breaking all this stuff down.
And it didn't even come close.
Not even close to that. Yeah.
Yeah, not even close.
Well, we didn't lose anyone last night, right?
Except for our whisperer. Yeah, the only human
character we lost was
the runaway whisperer.
Wow.
See, and that's kind of how this, like, show is taking a step back, I think.
Because it really feels like their cartoon characters at this point.
Like, there's no danger for them dying.
And it sucks to lose a good character, but, I mean, it gives you, I don't know,
something to be scared of.
And that's something we haven't had in a couple seasons, really.
No, we have not.
We have not had to, I mean, we still kind of are living from the old school, right,
of worrying that someone is going to die, but they haven't.
Yeah.
And they had.
It's been, you know, they just go away.
Even the lesser characters.
Like, remember when, what's that?
Remember when that doctor lady ended up getting, like, killed, like, shot with an arrow?
Oh, yeah, Denise, she took Abraham's comic death.
Okay, so that was like, I don't know, at least that was shocking.
You were like, oh, my gosh, I didn't see that coming.
But then you were like, oh, my gosh, you're like, maybe we're going to lose more.
We don't even get that now.
Right.
You know, in those tier characters.
I don't know.
I'm not sure why they're...
The only thing I can guess about is maybe they literally just don't have enough, you know,
strong personality characters that have been developed on the show.
So they're holding on to them to keep people watching.
I don't know.
That's very possible.
I mean, that's what we've kind of, you know, we've kind of theorized that.
And it does seem like they don't want to lose the big characters, right?
Because losing Rick hurt.
Yeah.
Losing Rick hurt.
Now, we lost, you know, Maggie, that was kind of big whoop, and we're, you know, we're all thankful.
Are we all thankful that she's coming back, I guess, you know, great.
But, you know, she went off to do another show and, you know, that bombed.
So she's coming back to the show that, you know, didn't bomb and can make her some more money.
But we lost right, Rick and Carl back to back.
That hurt.
That hurt the show tough.
Big time.
And so they're afraid, right?
They're kind of gunshot.
Another thing, too, is at this point in the comics, not a lot of,
lot of our main characters do
die at this point, except
I have a theory
that a few people are thinking, if this is about
next episode, someone
needs to take Andrea's
comic death. Maybe
it might be Carol.
That'd be a mistake, in my opinion.
I think so. That's going too far.
Right?
I mean, her
little, you know, we had her little
heart to heart with, what's her name, Kelly
as they were out,
junking cars still.
I mean, there's still radios left in the old cars.
Okay.
Or whatever.
They're pulling out.
They're a track player.
Okay.
But they have a little heart to heart there.
And, you know, you're your own superhero.
Shut up.
Shut up.
Get out.
Get out.
You do what you have to do.
Okay.
There's like, the writer that was writing that portion of the script was like
surrounded by little like little troll
things, you know, colorful little troll dolls
and like some unicorns and
I was like, ah, you know,
they all loved it. The show that comes on after
Eugene, he
said he got he witnessed when they were recording
that scene and it was just so powerful.
Oh God.
Okay.
Anyway, then
then we had, of course,
Daryl and Judith in the woods.
That was great.
I mean, dude, I texted this to you.
Judith, that's a future best actress.
She's going to win an Oscar.
I can agree with that.
So good.
Yeah, no question.
And she's, you know, I mean, is she a prodigy?
I mean, she's 12 now, so no.
But is she a fine actress?
Yeah, that's fine.
Yeah, there's so many 12-year-old actresses out there that can cry on a dime.
So many of them.
Then, of course, we had.
great all season, right? I mean, she's been
great. That's her.
I mean, she now, that's her
character. You're not taking that from her.
There's no adult taking it. Nothing.
That's hers. I very
rarely see a kid where I'm like,
I got to watch this career. Like, very
rarely. The only other time actually, it was
like, you remember Game of Thrones, the little girl,
the little bear character?
Where she stood up and was like
John Snow, like, wherever.
Like, very similar to that.
I was like, dang, powerful.
And do you remember that, Max?
No, I don't.
I've never seen that game.
We have to remedy that situation.
We had, so, I mean, we had that.
We had the Negan and the Lydia get-togethers.
I mean, it was, again, we had almost all the strong characters, right?
Had a timeline.
That was fun to see during the entire episode.
Yeah, and that was a pretty interesting scene with Lydia,
are yelling, kind of yelling at Negan.
Yeah, I know, he brought it out.
Like, you have to be mad at me and get it out
or you won't be able to live with yourself.
Again, shut up.
Well, Negan knows what that's like.
Like, if you think about it, that's, well,
why do you think he became what he became?
Because he didn't really let go of the death of his wife.
The interesting thing about that scene to me
was just that they included it at all.
So if it was, like, budgetary reasons,
they would not have done it.
Like, we have, they have,
shown that if there's Negan that they can force
in there or let in there, not force, but let in there.
They just don't do it. I think it's because of budget,
but just the fact that they even did it,
hey, I'm happy. Because, you know,
even I didn't think, if that scene would have
happened with anybody else, I'd have been like, dude,
why the heck did you even include this scene?
It's just kind of stupid. But
because it was with Negan, I was like, okay, I'll let it slide.
Because even the worst scenes, if it's
Negan, then it's one of the good scenes.
That and Jeffrey Deacon Morgan is just a great actor.
He owns Negan
pretty much.
right that's the whole thing right we had to have we had to have some sort of uh interaction in the house
with uh you know we had violin boy showing up why he's still they don't gosh but that's where we that's
where we you know got we had to do that scene because we had to make the cat available right
because that's what that's what one of the reasons that beta realized that he'd been fooled and
they were setting him up because he was planning on heading to ocean side right and he really
realized because of, you know, the broken stick and a live animal that had.
And I can well understand how a person would see a cat and understand that when you see animals out there on the other, of the dirt world.
That was like, that was to crack me up.
I was like, so they're now having beta channeled Jephy because of Jephy, because of Jephy, he's one of the whispers.
He's one of the whispers, he just stands in the middle of the field and goes, wait a minute.
Where are the squirrels?
If we follow the squirrels, we'll find them.
I swear to God.
Squirrel.
I mean, that's going.
It's shit about that.
And it was interesting seeing beta just go all nutty.
Well, I mean, right.
I mean, that's the deal, right?
I mean, he, if any, as we spoke earlier,
it's the only thing grounding him to any portion of,
reality was alpha.
So I thought we might lose him this episode.
And we may, and I really did, because I thought they gave him the death call, which was
the Instagram takeover all day on Sunday.
And I thought, ooh, that's become the death mark.
But I don't, you told me that.
I was like, I don't think we're losing beta this episode.
Just when you told me that, I don't think we would be losing beta.
Well, you were right.
but I'm just saying that I thought so.
I was theorizing the fact.
It's like they're trying to shake it up so you're like,
you don't catch their little secrets that they do.
It also had a princess and their group in the minefield.
Yeah, that was fun.
I mean, it was fun to see, I guess.
I mean, it was fun.
She's a great character and I love,
I'm so,
I'm happy that she's there.
And I, you know,
you can't get enough of her.
So until they give her a whole episode with nothing else,
and then I'll say I'll be different.
but it's a great character
and I can't wait for them to be on the road with her
and for her to step up right
but the time of her
you know trudging them through the city
and going the wrong way just to spend time with them
and then we have to walk through the minefield
and craziness with her and that was fun
I don't know that we needed it
then we saw the horse
that's like the 15th horse dead in this show
I don't want horses
Oh they do not
They do not they just we ride them
And then we kill
That's what we do
Does she have Max in the comics
Does she have access to a lot of weapons
Because she made that one comment
Yeah she has
She has a small stash
That's what
And she does have a small stash
She has the spear
Like she said
And of course her main weapon
which is that dang machine gun.
You think she'd have more, though.
I'm a little disappointed.
I mean, she runs the city.
She spent all kinds of time making her, you know,
wax museum, Walker Museum dolls on the sidewalk.
And the only vehicles she has access to are bicycles.
I know.
The bikes.
Yeah, I mean, I was waiting for at least a parking garage full of cars, you know.
I was through, like a high-in cars?
That's how I was expected.
Do you matter?
I'll have this Lamborghini.
Yeah.
Can you imagine a Lamborghini in the walking head?
Yes, I can.
And I was hoping for, you know, have all these
cars with no gas, right?
I was hoping for something like that. That would be great.
Since we don't have any gas, then I have these bikes.
These are the cars. I thought you want a vehicle,
something like that.
But what do I know? I'm not a writer.
So.
Well.
So we have, I mean, it was fun.
It was fun.
It was a great.
It was a really, really great episode.
So we didn't lose anyone, right?
So we didn't lose, and not a single person.
I thought for sure at least we'd lose Alden or Aaron out there in the woods,
especially when the horde turned.
We still, I don't know if that's fight it over with yet.
Right.
That's what I'd say is when in the extended or what was it,
the preview or whatever, it showed them, I guess, recovering from that.
They were surrounded, but then it looked like they were winning
until some weird, like Kylo Ren figure shows up.
doing Jedi moves?
Oh yeah.
How was that?
Well, that was...
So Alden and Aaron
looked like they were fighting off
their captors,
and then it cuts to seeing someone
like two sides
wearing a mask,
but it didn't look like
a whisperer mask.
Right.
Who was it?
Mr. Comic book?
I don't know.
That person is not in the comic at all.
I like it.
There's a theory going around
it might be Connie.
But I have no...
I don't think so.
Might be Connie.
Yeah.
What? Did she secretly learn karate all of a sudden?
I know. Even I was like, that can't be Connie.
I was like, I mean, what happened to her?
She was in the cave, right?
Remember, she was in the cave with Magna when they got trapped.
Right.
Then they went with the horde, and then Magna said they got separated when they were walking with the horde.
So we don't know where she is.
We know she's not dead, but we don't know where she is.
So she found the Darth Vader super black night?
outfit out of the road.
And two ninja size.
That's fantastic.
There's that theory.
That is a theory going around.
Oh, come on.
We know exactly where she went.
She went to go film another movie.
That's where she went.
There's no other plot line.
I guarantee it.
She's just going to pop in all of a sudden one,
at one point when she decides to come back to the show.
And maybe that's her, right?
Plop me back in.
Stop in.
whiz-whi-off! Hey-up! Hey-up!
So bad.
And we had Maggie in the preview for next episode?
Right. I mean, again, we're bringing back Maggie, so we were gaining characters, or at least we're breaking even, right?
We've got Michone going away. We're bringing back Maggie. They gave us, we saw some previews for World Beyond, or we saw Rick.
I mean, they're setting up the movie and the universe times. I mean, I'm all four.
it and okay it's exciting
but how about you give us episode
16? Yeah.
A certain doom. How about you give us that?
Please.
I'm
the addition
of Maggie's going to be interesting because
you know, Negan now
is almost like, I don't know,
like people still don't like him, but they're accepting
him. And he's got so many major characters
in his corner now, Carol,
Daryl for crying out loud,
you know, Gabriel, everyone.
doesn't like him.
He doesn't like him, but he's obviously learned to live with it.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Let him live with that he's back in.
He's on his own.
He's not chained up or anything.
Maggie's not going to be cool with that.
Not at all.
And you can't blame her.
Some of the people, right, was Violin Boy around with Maggie there?
Were some of those people around when Maggie was there?
No.
I don't think so, right?
No, Magna is with them.
So that would be Magna, Connie, Kelly, and Yumiko.
And Luke, they showed up around the time Jesus died.
Wait, Jesus is dead.
That's a long time ago.
That's like 2,000 years ago or so.
I know.
It feels like an extra long time ago.
Okay, so again, so we have more people.
Maggie shows up, right?
And they are all like they're okay with Negan.
Yeah, he was a bad guy.
You guys had him in jail, but he never did anything to us.
Yeah, they don't.
He's fine.
They weren't around during the Savior arc so that they don't know really what happened back then.
And so Maggie's going to, I mean, Daryl is going to have to try to talk her off a cliff?
Oh, okay.
Yikes.
I know.
Nobody cares about your husband.
Okay, he's been dead for a long time.
Get over.
Seven years.
Get over.
Where you've been?
You've been around.
Okay, we've been trying to survive.
We don't care about your husband anymore.
Move on.
All right, so we have a certain doom coming up sometime later this year.
We have fear sometime in the faraway future.
They said summer, but.
We have the world beyond some of the later this year, whatever their timeline knocks that out.
So, you know, when that happens, you'll have talking walking good.
I'm excited about it.
but until then we end up just kind of
you know deadpanning waiting for waiting for the future
so what do you see in that certain doom episode Jason
wow well I guess I'm expecting kind of the
the comic you know plot line where they continue on somehow going back to
Oceanside I don't know how they're going to do that and direct them away from the hospital
but I mean I don't know what else you're going to do with them
the thing with Gabriel was kind of interesting how he was talking about their friends.
So there's a lot of different friends that you converge.
The others, yeah.
I'm hoping that with Maggie comes also the, what are they called?
The Max?
The Commonwealth.
The Commonwealth.
I don't know.
Maybe, but I'm not sure.
We know she went with that one chick that had all those like plans.
Remember that?
Yeah, I remember, but we don't, I don't think she was part of the Commonwealth, so.
I thought, yeah, I thought she was the Commonwealth, right?
No, I don't think so.
Van Lady?
Yeah.
They never said anything about the Commonwealth, and she's not a character, she's not really a character in the comics from what I know.
So I don't think she was.
Well, they never specified either way.
So I just, I was just, my hope was one of my own little theories was that was part of that plot line.
So if she converges and then, you know, whoever.
You know, the princess coming in.
I don't know they could have this huge like okay,
battle at the okay corral type thing there around that hospital.
That'd be kind of dope.
I'd be all on board with that.
Yeah, that would be.
That'd be fun.
My theory for next episode will finally get the Negan versus Beta fight.
I'm excited for that.
That'd be cool.
That would be fun.
And look, we have the big battle at the hospital, right?
We end season 10 with the big battle at the hospital.
And who do we lose?
have to lose somebody, dear Lord.
Maybe Gabriel.
Maybe Gabriel might get his death.
I said maybe Carol.
Maybe Carol might get Andrew's comic Beth.
It feels like Gabriel's going to get it though, right?
Because when you start going through,
you're helping the kids with your fingers
and with the fist, we become extra strong.
Right?
When you hold your fingers out like this, they're no good.
But when you make them a fist, they're powerful.
And the thumb is others.
and we are going to, we're powerful.
And then he's the one that bites it.
I'm a nice day.
That little speech just signed your own death warrant.
Yeah, I feel like that.
That's the case.
Is that he the only one?
What about Carol?
I don't think we lose it.
I don't think they can afford to lose someone of that magnitude.
Someone that's that good and that loved on the show.
I just don't think that.
Unless Carol wants off, and there's been no indication she does,
I don't see them pulling that trigger.
Oh, I don't think so.
I mean, plus the show, losing Rick and Carl.
and they don't even kill them anymore
they just send them away
we couldn't kill Rick
the only person we killed was Carl
Maggie went away but she
Joan just went away
we didn't kill him anymore
to find Rick
I think it'll be a lower level character
I think maybe like someone like Aaron
someone like Jerry
people like that
you know will be at risk but I don't
I don't think that anyone major
I can kind of agree with that
but with Andrea's comic
death. Her death
was giant because it was a big
important character because Andrea was kind of
in Michone's place in the comics.
So if they're going to use that
death, they have to make it an important
character. Sure, but they've only
lost so many characters at that
magnitude already. You know, like
plot driving
characters. Carl was still alive in the
comics. You know,
Rick Carl,
whoever else,
Mishone was still there.
All these characters are there.
Now they're just not in the show.
I don't know.
I personally just don't think they can afford to lose someone big,
which is kind of hamstrung, you know,
the writing on this, what they can actually do.
So I would like to say that,
or like to see the preacher man goes,
although he's kind of growing on me.
He's been around for a while.
I'm okay with letting, you know,
the whole damn five or six of the musician crowd go.
A nice day.
Let them all go.
That includes Magna, though, so Jason will not be happy.
She would be the one survivor, for sure.
She'd be the one that would stick around.
That's what I meant to say.
I didn't mean that whole crowd.
I meant Magna survives, right?
What about Connie, too?
We don't know where she is, and she's kind of with Daryl.
I just never cared about Connie.
Right.
Never cared.
I never did either.
I never did either.
I didn't do.
I mean, she's one of those characters.
I mean, I like Aaron and.
and Alden more than I like her.
Same. Yeah, same.
She's dumb. We might lose dog.
Oh, yeah.
Dog is still around.
Haven't you been predicting that for about five or six years now?
He has.
I don't know who you're talking about.
You wanted dogs head on one of the pikes.
But notice, I will say, I will say.
Yes, I did.
And I'm okay with that half the extent.
But I still say that, let's say.
say they since then.
We have not, and it could be
budgetary reasons, or maybe the dog,
you know, maybe the, maybe the dog isn't as
as smart as they thought he was, so he can't
do the, can't do the part as well.
But they really cut his part down, right?
We see him standing in a room
last night. With the same room
with the cat was in, he's not even
chasing a cat.
That's a very good point. That's such a good
point. Daryl has trained him,
so maybe he's just like, yeah,
I'm not going to attack it.
Although I will say the cat was out.
of the house and obviously blowing the cover of the crowd to beta.
So, but I mean, the dog has lost his part, right?
He's not, he's not part.
He's not dog anymore.
So I think he's, I think he's as good as dead.
All right.
Thank you for, uh, I've looked, I cannot wait for the final episode of the season.
Whenever they want to air it, let's get to it, AMC and a dead universe.
But until then, we will talk to you on chewing the fat, which you need to subscribe to.
If you're listening to this, then you are a subscriber.

Jason, Maximus, dead power.
I have no idea what that means.
Thanks for listening to talk.
Shut up.
