Starting point is 00:00:00 Season 10, episode two of the Walking Dead, titled, We are the End of the World. And they pretty much are. That means this is Talking Walking Dead. Welcome to it. Talking Walking Dead, that is, with myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Butchell, and Maximus Fisher. Episode two of season 10, the origins of Alpha and Beta revealed. Alpha attempts to toughen up Lydia as they prepare to walk with the dead. And the whisperers create their herds.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Opens up with seven years ago. I mean, I know I saw a lot of posts. You know, it was before we get into it. It was an interesting way to get the backstory on, or get some of the backstory on Alpha and Beta and how they came together. I mean, it would have been nice to have this with Nigan. I don't know how they haven't. That's the one I've been waiting for.
Starting point is 00:01:19 That's what we've all been waiting for. That's the only one I wouldn't complain over. Let me put it that way. Why, Jason? You didn't care for this episode? I hate these freaking shows. I mean, okay, so I hate these kinds of shows, but I did not hate this one. It's funny because I was going to say, at the end of the episode, Max was like, I think even Jason may have liked this episode.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Yeah, no, I did. It's a good call. I liked it. There were things that I wish we would have saw more of. Like, I liked how they intertwined the current day, what the wishworth were doing. Yeah. That helped it out. If they didn't do that, I would have been pissed.
Starting point is 00:01:50 Yes. this thing. Yes. But I still wish they would have updated us a little bit about what the main characters were doing. You know what I'm saying? I kind of like the villain focused episode somewhat. Like, yeah, we wanted an Egan one, but maybe we'll get one this season as well.
Starting point is 00:02:04 But really, no, we're not going to. That day has passed. But I think that we did know what our regular people up because this was, last week, we saw what all the groups were doing up to Sat Crash. And this was, except for the backstory, that's what Alpha and Beta were doing pre-Sat crash, right? Man, you're right, and talk about getting your money's worth out of, you know, half a day's worth of content. Yeah. I mean, we've now gone through two episodes and only covered half a day.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Yeah, pretty much, or at least a day and a half or two days most, yeah. I mean, dang. Yeah, yeah, you're right, that's what they did. I still, which is fine, whatever. I just, I hate those episodes where you feel like you didn't really. we didn't go anywhere go anywhere yeah I enjoyed
Starting point is 00:02:54 I did I did enjoy you're right I loved going back you know and then coming up yeah that was interesting I would have I mean there were some great there was some great eating walker scenes
Starting point is 00:03:07 and death walker scenes yeah the beginning one just was great with the girl getting eaten oh the face yeah that's right yeah no first it was the leg and then she gets dragged out and then she just gets torn open Her face got eaten off.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Yeah, it was fun. That was great. You just see the nose. You get ripped off. The first, you know, early alpha and Beaty meeting. Okay. Okay. What is up with the mask?
Starting point is 00:03:33 Well, you know, that's a good question. It's funny that you ask, Jason, because we do know what is up with the mask from the comic books. Do we not Maximus? Yes, we do. Oh. So, let's have it. Mr. Smarty Pants. Bade is a celebrity actor and basketball player.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Shut up. That is what his origin is in the comics. I'm not joking. What? Kirkman wrote that. Not kidding you. That is his origin in the comics. He is a celebrity, basketball player, and actor.
Starting point is 00:04:03 So he's hiding his face because he doesn't want people to recognize him? Just because of that. Oh, come on, man. No way. I thought his jaw was going to be, like, missing or something. Yes. We always see his jaw. I'm saying it or something.
Starting point is 00:04:16 It's just like that. Kirkman wrote that. So you always say. It's like it's where. the Batman mask, we really don't know it's him? That's stupid! If you knew of the basketball player
Starting point is 00:04:27 and the actor, you would know that it was him. I'm sorry, you just would. Yeah, you would. That's, okay, Kirkman, that's dumb. That's a dumb plot line. You should have just made him Bert Reynolds for crying out loud. Bert Reynolds doesn't know that everyone he's running around. He wanted, he wanted
Starting point is 00:04:43 a crazy guy. He wanted the answer last night and I told him no, I'm telling you on the show. It's really Bert Reynolds. That's the old his friend in the closet was Jerry Lewis. Jerry Lewis is Delta.
Starting point is 00:05:02 We're going to come out and see later. Greatest part though, too. I was reading that issue. And when that got revealed, that was the same issue, Beta died. And I'm kidding. I'm not saying he deserves a better
Starting point is 00:05:15 death in the show. Kirkman wrote Beta horribly for his death. I'm telling him. you this. Guess who killed him? Aaron. Oh, yeah. And guess how he died? I don't know. You read the book. By shooting him in the chest. That's it. Oh, there you go.
Starting point is 00:05:30 I mean, everybody takes a bullet. Yeah. I mean, I was thinking, you're right. He said he was disfigured and disformed because they meet at the looney bin. Right? I mean, that's where they're, I'm sorry, the hospital. And, uh, I'm sorry, all the people that are, no, most of the people that are. no most of the people that are whisperers all have some sort of mental issue they're all they're all yeah or driven crazy yeah i mean because we saw a little bit of right i mean we kind of get the idea that some of them had the look at hilltop that uh you know people are living like
Starting point is 00:06:12 this yeah yeah i'm sleeping on the dirt with this crazy bitch They have livestock and everything. We've got food growing and I've got to walk with these stinky walkers. Yeah. How about that goes off in the river and I come with you? What's keeping them from just leaving in a mess? I don't know. And again, the only thing that I think is keeping them is they're crazy, right?
Starting point is 00:06:36 So. And they're loyal, I think, or some of loyal. Well, Alpha and Beta are the craziest. So they're, you know, gathering up crazy people. Yeah. And fear, I guess, as well. Yeah. They obviously all fear her.
Starting point is 00:06:48 Who was the friend? Did it say in the comics who his friend was that? Oh, no. We don't, this whole thing was completely new. We don't, other than, you're not going to like that. I didn't like this. About that one piece of dialogue that we find out that he's a basketball player slash actor in the comics is the only backstory we get of beta in the comics.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Nothing else. Only one piece of dialogue that explains. explains it. That's funny. Interesting. So this whole thing was created. And interestingly, interestingly enough,
Starting point is 00:07:21 Ryan Hurst, the actor who plays beta, actually had a big input on this episode. Yeah, I mean, it's his, the backstory is his backstory. He said that he came up
Starting point is 00:07:30 with the backstory while he was meditating. And, uh, he got a hold of, Angela and, wait, while he was doing what? Meditating.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Well, he's meditating. Like, ohm type stuff? Or what? You don't just have to. Don't you? Are you telling me, you don't meditate every day?
Starting point is 00:07:48 Is that what you're trying to tell me? Holy cow. How do you get through life without meditating every day? It's a mystery. It really is a mystery. It certainly is now. I'll tell you that, because I thought you were a part of it.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Shut up. You don't meditate on anything but a cheeseburger. That's what. That hurts. Don't look at me, though. That hurts. That's why I'm just telling you what the man said. I just telling you what the man said.
Starting point is 00:08:13 He said he came up with the story. during one of his meditations. Is anyone from Hollywood normal? I mean, come on. You know, there's like some like rancher. Why the hate is what I'm asking. He loves the walking dead and he's listening to this thing and he's like, meditate.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Wait, what? I don't have time to meditate. You know, I got no time for that. Thank you. I got to build cows. I got to get up.
Starting point is 00:08:40 I got to deal with my wife. You meditate. Meditate. But yeah Get out And he also He also said on the show that comes after That there is more backstory
Starting point is 00:08:51 You will probably see later Well yeah that was a deeper meditation We haven't heard all that So And they reference When he comes out of the The smoke house You know
Starting point is 00:09:03 Waiting for that That's when the true visions come to You So it was enjoyable To see You know, we're all monsters now. I mean, it was interesting to see how crazy she became, right? I mean, how she immediately recognized the craziness of beta and was able to, you know,
Starting point is 00:09:26 we know that she was able to, you know, bring him in to the fold. And also kind of shows, I think, that she's kind of full of crap in her ideology. She's like, definitely. Like, she's all like, don't have these ties, you know, all this stuff. We don't care. We don't fear. Bull crap. Like her entire like metamorphosis is because she was scared.
Starting point is 00:09:44 She was so fearful of losing her daughter, I think. Yeah. That she had to like adopt this lifestyle. Yeah. And then. I remember prior to that when they were in the basement of wherever they were, you know, where she went crazy where she killed hubby and she killed those people or stuff. I mean, that's where she realized that she had to be this crazy person, right?
Starting point is 00:10:01 Right. Yep. And then now, and I think, I think beta is actually starting to catch on. Wait a minute. Yeah. She's telling everyone to do one thing. But he went along with it. He went along with it.
Starting point is 00:10:13 He went along with that. Beta is extremely loyal. He always has been in the comics, and I think they're keeping with that. Well, that's what happens when you're an actor and a basketball player. How can he be both? That's interesting. O.J., I guess. Kareemabremaudu J.
Starting point is 00:10:29 OJ is a football player. Still, though, I mean, he's an athlete, though. I mean, an athlete. Yeah, I guess there are. I mean, there were plenty of... There's all kinds... I mean, there were plenty of... I don't think he acted in Space Jam.
Starting point is 00:10:40 He was in... space jam. Yeah. He jumped in front of a green screen a couple of times. Well, I realized that the Marvel actors all believe that's great acting. It is not. Although I'm willing to do it, Marvel, if you want to give me a call at any time. Give us a call.
Starting point is 00:10:59 888-9033-93. I'm here for you. So I don't know what to think of it. I mean, it was... You enjoyed it, though. I did. I did. Then we had a...
Starting point is 00:11:10 I did. I did enjoy it. I like the, you know, the great big gobs of greasy, grimy walker guts and the bowls and were cutting open walkers and stuff. That was. Why was she doing that? That was in her because that was. The buckets of walkers.
Starting point is 00:11:24 To rub yourself down in, right? So you smell like that. That's all that was for? I guess. You know, you leave the buckets out. You don't need buckets of it. No. But if you're in a building and you're trying to stay someplace self and you put it some buckets
Starting point is 00:11:37 out, that smell keeps the walkers away, I'm assuming, right? It's possible? Yeah. I mean, good idea. Yeah, right. I mean, I'm just saying where you don't have to hose yourself down in it, but the smell is so good.
Starting point is 00:11:51 I mean, it's got to be just horrid. And she's hugging the kid and they're wiping each other down. I mean, we forgot to mention young Lydia and the way she was acting. Yeah, I mean, she's always tried to impress her mom. And she knows that mom is crazy, but she's tried to impress it. And mom is making her go crazy, but it's still. Again, we find out that she's full of crap, right?
Starting point is 00:12:12 She just loves her kid, which, you know, it's fine, but not in her world, right? And so, you know, she just wants her kid to be her. And then we saw her break down a little bit with when the kid said that. And she, how long have I waited for you to say that? And then she realized, oh, crap, I'm not supposed to be that loving mother. Don't ever call me, mommy again. Yeah. You're lucky I don't slap you upside your head.
Starting point is 00:12:35 I know, that was such like a, such a turn. Yeah. Like, what? Yeah. I mean, that's what, you know, when she called in the one girl, you know, and let her live in the killing cave. Because that was the mom of the baby. They left. Completely forgot about that.
Starting point is 00:12:51 So I thought that was an interesting callback to the last season. Yeah, the killing cave, you know, and it was, you know, she, I mean, Elf almost got killed then. Right. I mean, that's why it was the baby's sister, who was now Gamma that saved him, right? And trying to step in, trying to do a little block on beta. A little middle of the body block on beta. And betas have none of that. I thought, see, that whole thing where they went out, like, searching,
Starting point is 00:13:16 I thought that was really cool. Like, that's, I was really enjoying that. Just, you know, they were using little hand signals and all that stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How they got their hurt. Like, that's it. That was interesting. I know.
Starting point is 00:13:24 And how beta goes and rounds up the walkers and brings them along. Yeah. I'm really fascinating. I kept waiting to see where they put them. Like, where do they lead them to? Well, we know where they put them when they're in our area. They keep them in that valley. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:38 But. I had to have them down there in the empty thing where Alpha and Carol had seen each other. But how do they keep them there? Are they constantly just rotating out, walking them in circles or something? Probably. Yep. Probably. Dang.
Starting point is 00:13:50 There are always people on the shift in the, in the herd. Does it show that in the comics? Yep. Wow. Interesting. Can you cover tonight for me? I'm kind of busy. I got to be over here.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Anywhere but there. And like we said, this is the biggest herd of we've ever seen. I mean, in this world, that's the equivalent of like a nuclear bomb. No kidding. That's what they said. Yeah. Yeah, they mentioned it. Like Michone said last episode, we have, they have a nuclear weapon.
Starting point is 00:14:23 That must be where I got that from. Yeah. Right. I mean, it is fascinating to see them with their handsign and stuff. And they also see how Alpha, you know, wants to, you have to become them. You know, her deal is just become them. That's the, I mean, that's crazy. crazy talk, right? I mean, that's, you're just out of your mind. You just, I realize that you
Starting point is 00:14:42 have to, you know, meditate and become a walker. I get that. That's how you become a walker. Wait, well, how do you, like, so they, all they wear is these masks. So how is that enough to make the walkers think that they're walkers? There's no smell involved, I don't think. It's a good, that's a good point on that. And there's that one point where Alpha just took her mask off. She's in the crowd. Yeah. They don't, they don't start going after her. She takes her mask off and walks away from the herd. They don't try to follow or anything. and then she has her stare down with Carol. I was like, what are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:15:11 They used to have to completely just douse themselves and walker guts. And remember, well, this is what I was going to talk about is that in the beginning, you know, Alfa was dosing the kid down and her down with, you know, with gopher guts and, I'm sorry, Walker guts. Well, they weren't wearing the masks at the time. No, no, they weren't. But they, you know, we did see, you know, back in the day with Rick, I mean, they would just put a sheet over it. I mean, they didn't.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Yeah. At least they were like, we're not getting. So is that all it takes? To fool them zombies? It's just a mask? Go to Party City and get like a Friday of the 13th. Wait a minute. You've got to get a real mask.
Starting point is 00:15:43 No, wait. You've got to get a real mask. It does involve some smell. Can I just realize it does involve smell because it's real human skin they're wearing for the mask. I know, but after like however long they've had these. I mean, Bada's been wearing his buddy's skin for years now, right? Yeah, it's not going to smell like that. Yeah, that mask never comes off Beda.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Never. He sleeps in that thing. Because he's Burt Reynolds and he can't let anyone. Thank you. He doesn't want anyone to know he's burnt Reynolds. It's like all the whisperers can take off their masks, including beta. I mean, including alpha. But beta, no.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Yeah, well, I mean, he's beta. On top of that, I mean, if you're going to be who beta portrays himself as, he's not taking it off. No way. He's, you're not going to mess with the herd. Which is weird because I think, I mean, just the amount of Smoky and the Bandit fans that are out there alone would be a good enough, like, recruiting tool. Right. You know what I'm saying? Come with me.
Starting point is 00:16:35 People coming from miles all around. Meet the guy that started smoking. Koki and the Bandit. We've got her own Walker Khan right over here. We have a basketball hoop if you want to try to beat him in a basketball game. Yeah, if you can beat me, you're taking over. You're number two. I mean, it's really, it's really true.
Starting point is 00:16:53 I doubt that's going to be the case here, right? They kind of referenced it, though, because right before he cut off the face of his friend, Alpha actually lifted up the whole face And then you notice in Alpha's face They mentioned this on the show that comes after She recognized him So they might actually be going the way they did in the comics Yeah, maybe
Starting point is 00:17:21 Does seem kind of weird though Because I mean Even, and this is just a thought off the top of my head Even without meditation If he was that big a star you're going to know him even with his friend's mascot. You just are. If Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Starting point is 00:17:40 throws panty-hose over his face, you still know that that's Kareem-Abdoz-Ber. He's still eight feet tall. I don't know if you know that or not. He's still a seven-and-a-half-foot black man. Oh, is that Kareem? No. No. What did somebody else?
Starting point is 00:17:57 He was in an airplane, right? He was in the airplane movies as the pilot. Will Chamberlain did a lot of movies. Also. Will do a lot of things, too. I like how not a lot of people mentioned that he was also wearing his friend's shirt and not just his face. Yeah, I like that too. Yeah, that was fun.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Yeah. Okay. I've got enough backstory. Okay. I've got enough. We have the, we have the two sisters, one of them being the mother and of that one baby. Yeah, the one, and gamma. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:26 I mean, she gets the gamma role now. I mean, that's her doing, you know, trying to get in front of beta and realizing that, because I did like the when they were talking and she was just like don't ever do it again. You still love me right? Still your sister.
Starting point is 00:18:46 About that. I'm going to roll over here now because I don't want to really see you right now. Yeah. But I wonder are we going to have a break when they find out that Lydia's still alive? Does that happen?
Starting point is 00:19:03 I don't know. I think, I don't know, that's a good question. And I don't know the plot lines going forward, Max. You know a whole lot more about that than we do, but does she make another switch and say she's going after Lydia? In the comics? In the comics, they know she's alive. The whisper, a lot of the whispers saw her in the comics of Carl, who was with Lydia, actually followed them back to their camp after she took Lydia.
Starting point is 00:19:32 Okay? So they all, are they always? Yeah, that did happen. However, after a while, after a little while, she actually kicked out, uh, Lydia out of the whispers saying you don't belong here and sent them, sent her back to Hilltop with Carl and Rick. And never killed her. Yes. And the whispers knew that. And they, they changed it here for the show. That's interesting. It is. I would think that maybe, so that's probably going to be like a major plot line to where she's now wanting to attack them because of Lydia's still alive. Because she's obviously going to find out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:11 I mean, she's got to kill them and make sure that she's dead, right, without people knowing. Well, she's, she, I mean, I would assume she wouldn't want to kill her. She'd probably want to bring her back with her, right? That's what kind of what we thought of at the, around the end when she had the little area set up. Which she destroyed, though. She destroyed her little birds and nest. with twigs and branches. And the bunny rabbit.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Even Bader was like, you still have that? Right. I mean, it's interesting that she would make this bird's nest bed. When he put his hand out, I thought he was saying, give me the rabbit. That's what I was thinking, too. I know. That's what I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:20:51 No, no, no. Give me that. Seriously. We're taking Binky, okay? It's time to give up Binky. You're okay. And then took our hand. I was like, oh, come on, man.
Starting point is 00:21:00 I don't. I thought he's like I ripped the, rip the thing in half or something like that. You still trust me. Yeah, whatever. Shut up. Whatever. So, anyway, it was, you know, I know it was enjoyable. And it was nice to have the, you know, at their little, I am the end of the world.
Starting point is 00:21:16 We are the end of the world. Whispery prayer mantra at the end. Before that, we had, of course, the anointment ceremony for Gamma. Yeah. I mean. That was interesting. Now we have a third in the man Is it mean
Starting point is 00:21:34 Just another crazy whisperer right I guess Yeah I mean there's more clarity among chaos Okay The only thing I took out of that was just Just how cult like it was Yes It seemed like a cult
Starting point is 00:21:46 Absolutely sure did That was it was interesting It was a story I mean right So again I mean they have to do that right If you don't They're asking
Starting point is 00:21:55 You know The place that had food Looked pretty good I don't know about you, but, you know, the place that had, I don't know, walls and the people were clean, not in Walker crap, it looked pretty good to be. What do you say we give it a shot? You know, I just, she's got, it's got to be a cult, right? Yeah, it has to be. So next week, it's called, the next episode is called ghosts.
Starting point is 00:22:25 The threat of the whisperer's return leads to paranoia sweeping over Alexandria. in the meantime Carol battles with the need for revenge. So after Carol saw Alpha, she's going to be, she's wound up. Yeah, she was, she's had enough. She'll stay. What did the preview show for next episode? Did it kind of show that?
Starting point is 00:22:49 Your description. I remember was the meeting at the border. That was it. Yeah, the meeting at the border. Because Alpha's, you know, going to say, she's not going to let, yeah, you know, we, the border and we did all this to help, you know, because of the sat crash. To her, who cares?
Starting point is 00:23:09 You know, you weren't supposed to cross it, right? That could be cool. I want to see some iron being slung between the two groups. I hope they don't, you know, procrastinate that. Because it's going to get annoying. If next episode is just paranoia and Alexandria and everyone, you know, talking about it and at the end, it ends, with them meeting up and saying, okay, you got something coming to you, but nothing happens.
Starting point is 00:23:34 I'm going to be a little annoyed. It kind of was like that in the comics. The war truly, truly started as soon as Alpha died in the comics. That's when it truly started the war. Now, yes, there was the Pikes theme before that, and they're doing a lot better handling this in the show than they did in the comics. But when the war truly went full force was right after Alpha died. Who kills Alpha? Negan.
Starting point is 00:23:59 Nigen kills Algae. And guess how he kills her? He decapitates her. Nice. I hope they better do it the same way. You know what? That needs to be like next week. Yeah, for real.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Which is not going to be. There's no way. They got way too much money invested in that. Wow. I don't even know with how they draw things out in the show, it makes me even wonder if they even get to that. I remember when we were waiting for all out war and we were like, good gosh. Is they ever getting to it?
Starting point is 00:24:26 Yeah. But I mean, I think it was a full season. Yes, it was. Before they got to All Out War. That's what it was. They could do the same thing here. Yes, they could. Tease us a little bit, do more of these little, you know, filler episodes.
Starting point is 00:24:39 And Michone's going to leave. We've got a whole, we've got one or two episodes of our group being sad and distraught when Michone leaves and just leaves the kids there for other people to raise. What happens? I mean, she's just going to leave the kids there? Come out. Have a nice day. She's going to leave and not take the kids.
Starting point is 00:25:00 Wow. It's not smart for them to kill her in case they want to bring her back. No, correct. Nobody dies anymore. But yeah. The big names, nobody, they don't die. I'm not so sure about that. She wouldn't leave Lydia.
Starting point is 00:25:16 I'm not so sure she might not die because in this show, of course, in the comics, Rick was with Andrea. Because she didn't die. Right, right. Which I wish would have happened in this. Anyway, go ahead. And Michone was with the king most of the time. Like I said, the king was one of the ones on the pikes, which changed for this. But another thing, during the Whisperer War, Andrea died because she got bit in the neck, like just nicked in the neck by a walker.
Starting point is 00:25:48 So that's how she died. So, and it looked like for a little bit, Michone was taking Andrea's place in the TV show. Yeah, it did. So she could get Andrea's name. death. She gets bit. That could be it. Maybe that's why she goes away.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Now, here you go. Now, if she gets bit and then she goes away, she still doesn't die. Right? She gets bit and she doesn't want to affect anybody and she doesn't want anybody to have to kill her. Right. So she just goes away as being bit. Yeah, they would have to either think she's dead. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:23 Because you're not Judith. Judith's not going off the show. That'd be stupid. No way. No. No way. No way. So they have to either think she's dead or she's actually dead.
Starting point is 00:26:33 But Judith isn't her kid. Just the little one is her kid, right? Blood, Junior. I mean, she's more or less. I'm just talking about blood. 23 and me, bro. Judith, I love you, but you're not mine. So I'm taking my kid and leaving.
Starting point is 00:26:50 I'm taking where I'm going to my house. Yeah, they're going to have to think she's dead. Right. But if she gets bit and we don't. don't kill her, she goes away as a, as a, as a bit in human off to die or go walk with the walkers. She, uh, everyone is still sad, right? And you still have the possibility of, uh, the movie. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:27:15 Yep, the movies. That makes more sense to me. Like she goes out and is taken by whatever they're called. Because we don't know if this is the Commonwealth or not. Right. But that, but that is, but she ends up there, right? Yeah, she ends up at the Commonwealth. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:31 That makes total sense. Everybody ends up at the Commonwealth, and it's a back and forth thing between Alexandria and stuff like that. Dude, I'm all in on that. Me too. The more OG characters we have in that movie, I am all in on. Yeah, me too. Okay, so how many more episodes?
Starting point is 00:27:49 They both were pretty good. I give them, you know, they were okay. They weren't not bad episodes here, the first couple episodes of season 10. No, they were good. I enjoyed the first one better, but I did not dislike this one as I was fearing I would. Oh, you have on the papers stuff about the commercials? Ah, well, we don't have to talk about that.
Starting point is 00:28:09 That was just me making personal notes that. I see where they now they've added an extra commercial. And if you watch it, if you watch it live, it's brilliant and it pisses me off. But they show the commercial, because I'm thinking, thinking, why are they doing that? If I was the advertiser, I'd be pissed. They've got, they shrink down the screen and show the ad. And behind the ad is the 3D Walking Dead game.
Starting point is 00:28:41 Yeah. Right? So you're just seeing them go through the movements of the characters with the 3D game with the commercial airing in the corner. So I'm thinking, man, I'd be mad if I was the, but I'm sure what they've done is that's a double ad. right they shrink it down you get the ad for the company you get the ad for the 3D game you charge them less money
Starting point is 00:29:04 right you charge them less money for the corner but you're still in the walking dead you get it and you've extended the break now another commercial because then they went into full screen commercials yeah I mean it's genius actually it pisses me off you know what pisses me off that ad where they're in slow-mo swinging the weapon yeah the 3D That is so ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:29:27 It's like, I can, I have this inner voice, you know, the director going, okay, okay, show me scary. Show me scary. Scary. Scary people. Yes, yes. And swing that machete. And then, oh, no, boo. Scary, a little bit more scary. Oh, gosh.
Starting point is 00:29:41 It's so agonizing. I forgot to mention Nicotero directed this episode. They've made absolutely no money from those games. So don't worry, Jason. They agree with you. Yeah, Nicotero directed this episode. Yeah, and I think he directed the last one, too, right? the first one I think he did too.
Starting point is 00:29:55 I don't think he directed this. He was all over those pictures, all over the making of that. So if he didn't direct it, he just said you can put your name on it, but I'm doing it. Because all those pictures showed him out there with it. So we'll see.
Starting point is 00:30:12 I'm still happy with the season. So far, we'll see. They definitely could make a turn to the wrong direction. I'll tell you what. A mid-season finale? of Alpha getting decapitated by Negan sounds pretty dang nice to me.
Starting point is 00:30:29 I'm a fan. I'm a fan. Make sure you subscribe to Chewing the Fat So You Get Alerted with this show uploads every Monday. Thanks for listening to Talking Walking Dead.
