Season 10, episode 9 of the Walking Dead, titled Squeeze.
Welcome back.
This is Talking Walking Dead.
Welcome to it.
Myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Butchral, Maximus Fisher, Talking Walking Dead.
We're back and so is the show.
And this time, we're pissed.
Episode description on IMDB, the collected communities are reluctantly respecting the new boundaries being imposed on them.
I'm not quite sure what that had to do with the show.
show but that's the description they put out there they wanted to keep it non-spoilery yeah no kidding
so um it's been quite a while it seems like forever since uh we we left the show and we left our
characters left in the caves so uh they decided to give us uh most of the show was our characters
trying to get out of the cave i you know and speaking of that uh i mdb description i tried to go in there
and edit it to where what i think they should have said oh god this was every
every single reason why Jeffrey Fisher would not survive the zombie apocalypse.
Oh, that's...
What would that be?
You know, like the kind of video game jumping...
Blom, blon, plon, plon to the different little rocks.
Just hop over to rock to rock.
The Mario jumping.
I was like, in it, I was like, I had this little sound effect in my head.
You're dead.
And it went off like, boom.
Splat, dead.
You're dead.
Even the actors were saying it reminded them of Mario.
Oh, did they really?
Yeah.
That's funny.
And then, you know, trying to go.
through little, you know, trying to slide through.
Crawl through the caves.
Oh, the crawl through, you're dead.
The little hole at the end, you're dead.
Jerry survived.
I mean, the title of the show, Squeeze is, you know, squeeze you're dead.
It was so obviously aimed at you, for one.
So I think that's just pissed off.
I mean, I can understand that.
You would think, you know, you would hope that maybe there was still a walker that was a fresh walker that was still a little puffy.
That might get caught for a little while.
Help them out.
I know.
No.
No.
So the reason that they're in the stupid cave is because Carol.
Being an idiot.
You know, I'm confused, really.
I've been confused through the whole episode of why we are continuing to try to create this character for Carol that is such a screw up.
But, I mean, if you go back, I guess it's the same stuff that they did to her before, right?
She does something stupid.
And then she comes back and saves the day.
Yeah, but we've gone too far.
I think so too.
We're way past that.
I actually might have a small reason I thought about after the episode.
Think about this.
Now, yes, we know Alpha killed Henry and she adopted Henry as her son.
Right.
That has been, there was like a nine-year time jump.
That was the longest time she had a kid even before, even she had Henry longer than Sophia.
Right.
So, I mean, she's suffering through that.
She's without the king, and, you know, times are tough, and she's been off, you know, boating and struggling.
That's not Carol, though.
That's not the Carol we love.
Yeah, like, they transformed the victim, you know, the naive victim into this, like, cold-blooded killer, which we loved.
Yes, that's the Carol we love.
Now, this is a serious regression.
We see, and it's annoying.
We still see hints of the Carol we love.
We see hints.
I don't know.
Through all the moron, it's kind of hard.
It's sure.
the last all the moron using your reference it has been hard i mean even even darrell was like what the
hell you're doing that's what i mean he's having a difficult time finding that carol as well
through all the moron i did enjoy a little bit uh as uh your girl magna oh she was hot in this
episode bitching at carol in the cave starting to say that what you're the reason we're here
yeah it's moron i didn't have a moron another title change on the i mdb page
Like, joking as I'd like...
Ride the moron way.
Even Daryl stopped Magna from yelling at Carol.
We all were kind of like, she's right, though.
Oh, yes.
Yeah, the world is right.
Now, I'm going to continue to go down my notes and we'll follow, you know, in progression of the episode.
But just know there were a couple of things, two or three things during this episode,
which made this episode stand out.
Stand out to fans and not.
fans alike.
So I did enjoy
the
Whisperors meeting
with Niga
Nagan watching.
I mean,
we had the flashbacks
between the cave
and then we went to the
Whisperors.
And we,
you know,
we had the,
started with the,
you know,
the meeting between
Alpha and Beta
and what's her face?
Gamma.
And,
you know,
Negan's off to the side
just checking it out,
scoping it out,
using, you know,
the Negan plotting
in the background.
And he could,
and he's thinking
about,
okay gamma is definitely the one the spy here i'm so i'm so confused on what the writers are doing
with the whole nigan and alpha and beta thing and i am terrified that they are about to change
the content it's very possible i don't like because what are you terrified about well
because you the you're the way that you have described what happens to nigen and alpha
from the comic books.
Yes.
Last night
seemed to make it think
that they may be
veering away
from that plan.
Now, here's the thing,
in the comics,
like something like that
he joked about
and have hinted,
they're going full throttle
with it in the show.
Like, in the comics,
he does mention
how he finds her
very attractive
and he does flirt with her.
But here they go
full throttle with it.
Right.
That doesn't change
the fact
that it still might go the way it is because throughout the comic you're even thinking,
is Negan siding with them like that? And then things happen and he doesn't.
I'm hoping that he's doing this just to get closer to her to set her up. I'm hoping they're not.
Yeah.
Mike, because we know woke Hollywood now, right? We sure do. And woke AMC, man.
Yeah, woke AMC. I, my fear is that they're going that direction. And the purpose.
and the person that's getting will be set up will be flipped
and it'll be beta instead of alpha
and then it'll be an alpha Negan thing
because I just I don't know
with the way woke holiday will it is
I don't know if they have
I don't think so because
the female leader of this group right
I don't know I hope not
no because they can't though because it's way to
that would do it would veer off way differently
because with beta he plays a very
integral part that alpha can't
and now of course they can't
They killed Carl.
Now, here's the thing.
I mean, come on.
Now, here's the thing.
I'll say this.
Alpha is a better character in the show than she is in the comics.
I will say that.
That's exactly my point.
Yeah, that leads to Jason's point, is that they're making her a better character so they can't get rid of her.
They've been setting this up.
So that worries the crap out of me.
And of course they can do that because, again, Carl is one of the major characters and he's just gone.
Rick is the major character.
He's gone.
They can kill beta, and it would be minor compared to those other two examples.
Yeah, and you would keep the Alpha Neigen strong.
Oh, man.
And Negan would try to, Negan would start to change.
Let's think about this for a second.
So Negan and Alpha get together.
Now, they're both opposites, really, but they're the same as far as leaders go, right?
They're the same as, I mean, Negan told her, look, you know, I had what you had.
I know what it is.
I know what it is to have, you know, the, you know, it's not the Frankenstein, it's not, Frankenstein isn't your traitor.
He's a goose stepper.
He's with you.
I know what they are.
Frankenstein, I know what they are.
That was great.
I know what it is.
You know, it's the other one that's the traitor, right?
Because he's dealt with this.
Right.
But he hasn't, he doesn't like the, in real life, he's not big on, you know, having to use a ditch for a latrine.
And, you know, not having the creature comforts that he's used to.
not big on, you know, getting his skin suit and living in the dirt.
He had a harem crying out loud in an apartment, basically.
Right.
Okay.
He's not, he's not a fan of living in dirt.
It just isn't.
So if he and Alpha get together, now you're looking at perhaps Negan, and I'm writing
a storyline for AMC as Elfa, you know, as Negan trying to change Alpha a little bit and
bring her over to, you know,
the dark side,
the Negan side.
Which he actually kind of tries that in the comics a little bit, a little bit.
But here's the thing, too.
There is one thing that Negan has not witnessed yet or figured out.
Right.
And this was a big turning point in the comic books.
Yeah.
Negan, from what it looked like in the comics,
after a while, was actually thinking,
I might join these guys.
But then he saw,
Then he witnessed firsthand their views on rape.
Now, do we really think woke AMC is going to have...
They've already had an attempted rape scene before,
and that was during the woke AMC things.
I don't know.
We're a lot further down the news cycle than that.
I don't know.
I mean, they took a beating over the literal beating of, you know,
Rick's group when they first met the Saviors.
They lost a lot of those woke viewers.
But they didn't lose, but there was no complaining about the attempted rape
scene because Negan killed the attempted
rapist. Like he always
does. Right. That does lead
into that, which we already took care of that once.
What was the
attempted? Oh, that was last season, right?
Might even have been two seasons ago.
Two seasons ago, actually. Two seasons? Good gosh, these things
go. I know. I know they go by really
fast. So, anyway, what we're alluding to
is that because Negan
went, stepped up
and went before Alpha
and told her, you know,
Beda's not your traitor.
Gamma is.
And I've been watching.
I had what you had.
And look, I just won in.
I want to just know that she's your traitor.
And I'll go off by myself now.
Talk to you later.
And Alpha was happy with that.
So they go, Elfa takes Nigan for a walk out into the woods.
Which I found was funny when she walked by you.
It looks like Mama's mad at me.
Yeah.
Negan still Neiman.
I think they have like a team of writers just to come up with good one-liners.
And they go off into the woods and she makes Negan walk, you know, turn around, look forward, keep walking, turn around, keep walking as they walk farther and farther out into the woods.
And they portray it as they make you think that Negan thinks he's going to get killed, that she's going to kill him.
my question of that is wouldn't
Negan be more like
my view of that would be
Negan would think that he's going to get killed
but he wouldn't be scared
he'd be trying to figure out a way
not to get killed
right not
they made it
his character seemed like he was really
worried about getting killed
I don't know it's just
it's just a funny way
to take it
he has had some moments
where he was worried about getting killed
he has had some
yeah okay
I was thinking the same thing
you were thinking. And I was also thinking it when
she like pushed him down and he fell into the
dream. That was pretty funny. Yeah, I was like, these are just things that he
never would have let slide before. Right.
Well, he has changed. It kind of pissed me off.
Just a tad. We know he's changed and he spent like what, eight years
in a cell, so.
Just a tad. But he's still negon. I mean,
just because they want him to change doesn't mean
it's good content. Now perhaps
perhaps, you know, again, if
they go, if they take us down the road of
him, this is just
him portraying, you know, trying to infiltrate the whispers so that he could put an end.
I hope that too.
And then he's thinking maybe I can't actually join them.
Then he sees what they're really about.
Then he's like, hell no, and then kills Alpha.
And he would be thinking more about joining them now after Alpha made him take his clothes off.
And she gave him his reward.
And then.
That was just the, that was hilarious, especially the reactions.
Is my true skin disturb you?
I haven't recovered from that, man.
I have not recovered from that.
Okay, wait.
Jason, as a writer, what did you think of that scene?
Unneeded, I guess.
Really.
I didn't see the...
Unneeded.
I think it's just unneeded.
I did not need to see that.
Well, I just want to go on record as saying,
there are plenty of things I've looked at
and looked at more than once that I didn't think I needed to see until after I saw it.
I want you to see it.
You go, yeah, you know, I'll watch again.
What about the scene where Deegan just goes, after Alpha says, was my true skid disturb, you goes, not at all, quite the opposite.
That was a great life.
I mean, there's no, I know that he was, you know, he was dropped into the latrine with clothes on, so he had his clothes off and everything.
but I mean, we can't maybe use a leaf as a breath mint or something.
She's got the skin face on and stuff.
Oh, man, I don't know.
I mean, I will say this.
This is, you know, while I'm not turning away, I'm watching.
There's no question.
Black socks and all.
I'm in.
I was utterly shocked.
I'm in.
I'm in.
It's so unexpected.
It doesn't, the skin face just doesn't do anything for me.
it just doesn't do anything for me
in the middle of nothing
doesn't do anything for me
just the skin face on Alpha
that's the only thing that doesn't
that you're not
I wish you guys
I wish you guys could see his face
it's priceless
he's like
well you know
maybe
I might even fall back on the skin face
comment after a little while
most of us
most of us in America
were like okay that's nasty
Jeff, he'd sit on his couch going, you know, I'd hit that.
I mean, I need a reward too.
I did a good thing.
Does my true skin disturb you?
Then before that, we had Alpha and Beta have the meeting about pretty much her sending him to find a gamma.
Yeah, she's doomed.
And we saw in the previews that, you know, she actually goes into, in with our crowd and starts trying to
you know, report on it.
Because she knows she was worried about dying right there when they sent her away, right?
She had to look on her face like, ooh, boy.
Yeah, I'm so conflicted on her.
I don't know.
Me too.
Me too.
You know, her sister, and then she turned again.
It's her sister.
And then, I don't know.
I know.
I'm not a big fan.
I wouldn't be surprised at all.
Later on down the line, we find out that she was secretly working for Alpha the entire time.
Well, we know that she was a little bit, right?
Because she was the one that told her to talk to, uh, what's his face.
Yeah, who's...
Aaron.
Yeah, Aaron.
Yeah, but you're Mace Hand.
Yeah.
She was one to tell him, give him information.
Let him feel like he's comfortable, right?
But just, you know, not...
Don't join and don't give them information that really counts, right?
And that would be the herd information.
Yeah.
So then we're back into the cave.
And we can go back into the cave struggles.
And our man, Jerry, I thought for sure that he was going to lose it.
Oh, my gosh.
I thought for sure.
That was like the scariest part's like, no, don't kill Jerry.
Don't kill Jerry.
From the get-go, when they were having to jump around,
I was like, oh, he's screwed.
And then all of a sudden he's just like...
Because people like you think that people that might have be a little overweight
can't be athletically overweight like me.
Like me.
I'm just saying, there are those of us out there that are athletically overweight.
Jerry is one.
Okay.
So I'm a little sick of you having a problem with that.
It was funny too.
Athletically overweight.
Wait, and I never would have described you as such a...
Well, it was funny when they were crawling through the cave,
when Aaron goes, you okay, man?
And then Jerry goes, yeah, I'm just a six foot two
due to that trouble fitting into airplane bathrooms.
But yeah, I'm fine.
And so, you know, he's struggling to go through the cave.
Caves are not fun, by the way.
I mean, I'm not a big fan of caves, and that's the reason, actually.
You've got to be...
You've got to be...
Some of the areas aren't quite fit for those of us
that are athletically overweight.
I actually read quite a few bit of people when they were watching this episode.
They read, this actually brought back some bad memories from bad caving experiences.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, that stuff happens, man.
I have a feeling we're going to have a lot of these scenarios with Jerry because now I think the writers, they figured out, okay, there's this huge cult following for Jerry.
Right.
So if they don't want to kill anybody off because they're already kind of weak on, you know, the people they have on the show, they're going to just use that as, like, a lure to, like, oh, crap.
Maybe Jerry's and die this episode.
Can you imagine if Jerry is the big death for the season finale?
I don't think he's big enough.
Yeah, he's not big enough.
I don't think he's big.
I think he could join in with a big death and be part of a death as more than one character.
Like he could be the one that would, I mean, Jerry is the guy that, as he did in the cave,
was he's holding up the braces for the cave and letting people rescue.
He's the one that would let himself be killed to save others.
He would do that.
There's no question.
And we saw that even last night.
That was a dope scene, though.
That was a good example of overweight athletics.
That's what you can do.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Another perfect example.
I took that in college, I believe.
You did?
Yeah, that was like one of the...
I don't think you did because that's something I came up with, but that's okay.
However, I don't think.
I don't think he's, while he does have the cult following it,
and we love him and it's definitely,
I mean,
they're definitely going to be doing that.
I think that they could,
I think that they would,
they could use him as, you know,
saving a bunch of people and yet
still having to let him,
you know,
letting himself be killed along with one or two other big people.
Then also in the cave,
we had Aaron and Connie and Kelly.
Right.
And, you know, everybody got out except for,
uh,
your girl.
Connie and Magna.
She'll get out.
But, right.
So they're not dead.
They're in the caves.
That was a pretty good scene.
Because they all went to the, look, that pissed me off to.
The whole, I know a road sign when I see it from Jerry with the arrow.
Okay, maybe you send that person down.
You don't all follow.
I felt like, you know, the whispers, maybe the arrow meant go the other way.
If the whispers see the arrow pointing one way, you go the other way.
You know what I mean?
If I'm alpha, that's what I do.
I put the arrow on the wall, but it means to go the other way so that I'm ahead of the curve.
And of course, it's the wrong way.
There's no way.
Where they end up is not where Alpha and the rest of those whisperers were getting in and out of that cave.
It just wasn't.
Because even Daryl said they got out before us.
There must be another way after he left, which is a pretty good scene with Daryl trying to dig up the rocks after the explosion.
I have to admit that was a good scene.
Yeah, when they were all buried in there.
But however, after the explosion, what was the explosion?
Oh, I know.
Carol, being a dufus.
Yeah, that was so stupid.
You just got Daryl saying, look, you're starting to hurt your friends with some of these choices.
Like, cool out.
So you thought that she was like, maybe she was going to take a step back.
And then we see her crawling around the rocks by the horn holding a piece of dynamite.
Good gosh, man.
You know, I get the plan.
I get the idea of wanting to, you know, drive.
some dynamite into the into the hoard I kind of get that I get the thinking about
that but I don't know you know you just don't act on that especially when you're
trying to get your people out yeah and especially typically when there's like a
cave that could collapse you don't want to be throwing dynamite inside it right even
even after the best I thought the best thing like well after we're talking about
this was at the end we see Daryl
trying to just avoid talking to Carol.
Yeah, they all were.
Because he's, I mean, he's definitely upset
because there's Magna,
and especially for him, Connie, was in there,
and he was trying to find another way.
But you could tell he was just trying to avoid Carol.
Well, but they all were.
When they all left,
when they said we got to go back and everything,
I mean, they just left.
Nobody was, you know,
nobody even patted her on the back and said,
come on, let's go.
None of it.
They just walked away.
Yeah, for good reason.
Yeah.
for definite good reason.
I mean, come on.
I mean, now it's just, it's annoying to us as if you were to watch this.
Now it's getting annoying to the characters.
Right, exactly.
Right.
And this has gone on, this is, how long has this been going on?
It's enough, it's gone on long enough.
Few months in showtime.
I see, I get the fact that you have to do something.
Like you pointed out, you know, Max, that she was, she had that kid for a while.
Right.
So they had to show that she was, but before, that would have been turned to the
clever, cold-blooded, no-nonsense Carol.
She was going to figure out a way to get her revenge.
Which she did prior to him dying, right?
One of our favorite, one of the favorite scenes in the new episodes of Carol.
When she was burning, when she burned the ex-saviors.
Yeah, that was great.
Yeah, that was dope.
That was great.
And then went back and, you know, give Henry a little peck on the cheek and we're good to go.
Yeah.
Everything's fine.
Don't worry about it.
I think the reason is, too, is because this is a different beat.
This isn't like the things she's dealt with before.
Yes, she would figure some things out, definitely.
But it's not like where she could just go,
sneak into the camp and kill Alpha.
It's not like she could do that like she could do with other people.
Yeah, she could try, but we know it wouldn't work.
But regardless, she would have been smart about it.
She wouldn't just be like, charge.
They're running into, I really am frustrated.
I still am frustrated at my head with the just charging into the cave.
And I know that we're building up to the, you know, the episode and it's not real.
But they are real to us and the people who watch the show.
And our characters, I always felt it was smarter than that.
Well, yeah.
And that's why this show is so great.
It's because they had a lot of character development over the past few years, several years.
And so, and before that, from all the comic books.
So that's what ultimately drives a good story as good characters.
Now they're threatening to take that away.
Right.
So you're eliminating characters right and left, Maggie, Rick, Carl.
Well, Maggie's supposed to come back next season.
And now you're rewriting the characters that you left in place to be different,
which kind of makes me nervous.
I know.
There's a lot of things that are making me nervous.
Now, they haven't really, I know most of those I can understand.
But when you were worrying about Negan from the comics,
they haven't really rewritten him in Alpha's relationship.
they've just kind of extended it a lot more.
They've added more.
They never rewrote anything with them.
They just added.
Okay.
So if you're worried about, you know, the possibility of Negan becoming the new beta
than switching it around, like you said, which is the possibility?
I'm sure that we're not alone in thinking that's a possibility.
You're right, Max, is that we haven't changed it yet.
They've added to it, but by adding to it, they're leading toward changing it rather than leaving it the same.
Yeah, I'm not saying that's going to happen.
That's just my fear.
And I wouldn't even be worried about it if it wasn't for the current state of, you know, woke Hollywood right now.
What you should do.
Let's fix this story for 2020 and make it, you know, how it should have gone.
Right.
And don't worry, it's going to be good.
It's going to be our good.
Right.
I have a, I have the interesting theory, too, about the episode where...
We'll be the, we'll decide whether it's interesting.
No, the, where the episode where he will kill Alpha, I'm taking that, he will at least kill her this season.
That was always my thing.
I know I was wrong about him killing her the midseason finale.
I know I was wrong about that.
I will 100% admit that.
But he will kill her this season.
Okay.
This season, the episode he kills her, I'm not going to name one, because I have
probably will be wrong,
could be a mix between Negan and the Whispers
and a Negan flashback episode.
Okay.
And in between either, in between him with the Whispers and him with Alpha
is a flashback with him and his wife and the beginning of the apocalypse there.
Okay.
I know you want this episode bad.
You want a Negan, backstory episode too.
Badly.
Yeah.
I do.
That's one of the only flashbacks that I really want to see.
And we haven't had that.
We haven't had that at all.
Strange.
That'd be a nice episode.
No question.
And then at the end of the episode, he decapitates her and like just holds her head up, says something, cuts to black credits.
Okay.
Hey, I'd love to see it.
Me too.
I just don't know if they have the balls to pull that out.
Me too.
I'd love to see it.
Me too.
All right.
Talking Walking Dead.
What do you see?
So we've gone ahead and come back.
We know that they go into Alexandria.
on next week when we saw the previews of of them getting into
Alexandria's Alpha believes that all you know a big part of our people are
stuck in a cave right so she's going to take what a small portion of the
horde and her people and try to take over some of some property right and
they're going to have to be punished for for going not to abiding by the
boundaries crossing the border yeah
So, you know, we'll have that, we'll have that war.
We might not even get a Negan this episode, right?
I would be surprised if we got him.
However, this, by the, it looked like from, I can't remember the titles of the last couple episodes.
But the last couple episodes, titles from what I read, just looks like.
One's called the Tower, which I'm thinking that could be the start of the Horde coming into Alexandria.
Because a tower is a big part of that.
Right.
So Gabriel?
Yeah.
I wonder, is that episode going to be Gabriel's death?
Let's hope so.
You really want Gabriel to die.
And just for Jason, what I like to have happen is for Magnet to show up and look eye to eyes to eye to Gabriel and then have him die.
No, oh, he's gone.
Except Magnus with Yumiko.
Rosita was, well, actually,
yeah, Rosita's with Gabriel.
And I thought for sure we were going to lose the,
the deaf lady and her sidekick.
You mean, her sister?
Whatever his name is.
Her.
Yeah, I will never forget that episode.
I told you guys that as a girl.
Because they're gone, right?
I mean, she's gone, right?
She's off to a new job.
So Connie is, like,
the actress playing Connie,
the deaf girl is actually playing a character
in the Eternals movie, which is a Marvel movie.
Right.
So that's what I'm saying.
She's gone.
And so we know that Michone is gone.
I mean, she wasn't even a...
But she's still showing up later this season.
She wasn't even a whisper in this episode.
And so we know she's gone.
We know that Maggie's coming back.
Lost her gig on the other show.
You know, another job.
Did it make some more money.
I mean, she loved the show so much that she's coming back.
And so, I mean, we do have some deaths that has to happen.
I wonder how much they show of Michon this season.
I know.
You know what I'm wondering?
I think, I've been thinking maybe Connie might get Andrea's comic death.
What is that?
So, of course, in the comics, Andrea was with Rick instead of Michone.
And she didn't die in the prison like the show.
Okay.
Right?
Okay.
and Andrea's death
she's actually saving people
from the leftovers of the
horde after it attacks Alexandria
okay and when she comes back out of the
horde she actually gets bit right here
oh she survives the bite
but she but then she's laying down
then she then they're just
then they just make her comfortable until she turns
well yeah I mean they have to
yeah Connie might get Andrea's death
because she's with she's at least somewhat
with Darrell
you just have to lay her down and hope that she hears what you have to say
anyway oh just stop this is not even funny hey what's the
what's the name of magma's girlfriend on the show umico
umico umico wait so she's not wait who is the one that you said was on the or the movie
uh Connie the deaf girl
the deaf lady is in the new marvel right yeah yeah so as is it been confirmed that
this is her last season no no this isn't confirmed she's
I don't know if she will die this episode
this season or not.
If she dies this season,
that's going to really...
Or if she's just going to work both of them,
you know, try to work both of them.
Normally they don't.
You know, although Michelle has been doing that.
So, you know, because she's been playing the girl in Black Panther and this.
Yeah.
So she's been doing that.
So, I mean, it can be done.
And Michelle has just reached a point now where, you know,
enough is enough.
Right.
Yeah.
You know, she's worked pretty hard the last 10 years or, you know, seven, eight years.
So, I mean...
And I think next year at least is the Rick Grimesman's movement.
movies. I think it's next year. Yeah, we're coming close to those. So,
everyone, we've got new, we've got new dead shows coming out all over on top of fear.
We've got the, not the new world or whatever it's called. A walking dead, I think.
World beyond. World beyond. Yeah, world beyond. I'm excited for a new show. Hopefully that's good.
It's all in the, you know, the dead universe. Yeah. I was not overwhelmed by any of the previews
that we've seen. And at this point, they got to over, they got to really wow me.
Here's the thing, though. Because what they did to us with fear?
And you want to add more?
Here's the thing I've somewhat noticed, though.
I know.
Think about this.
Most episodes and shows, including fear, that have underwhelming previews, are usually good.
But episodes that have really exciting, meaning episodes, show everything in the trailer,
so when you watch the episode, it's not that exciting.
So if you think about that, maybe you'll be really good because they have.
because the trailers haven't excited us.
It's kind of like in fear when they give you the previews before the season's going to start.
Or even the previews for the next episode.
That's what I was mentioning.
They show like bombs going off and craziness.
And then that's like maybe 20 seconds of the entire thing.
And they took it out of context.
Listen, we weren't alone as long as we were talking about fear.
I mean, we weren't alone as far as, you know, being less than thrilled with the fear season.
So, you know, they're addressing it.
We'll see if they, you know, I know Gimple's addressed it in some interviews as well.
You think Morgan's going to actually die?
No way.
No way.
Unless he's tired of it back.
I can't imagine.
No way.
That's easy money for those guys.
Sorry.
And I'm shown too.
That's why she stuck it out as long as she did, right?
Until she's, you know, the comic book universe is giving her way too much money.
I don't want to go to Georgia right now.
I think I'm good right here in L.A.
Yeah.
Plus, they don't have anybody to carry that.
show. Like they've got some... I know. That's why they crossed him over.
They got some backup pieces, some solid backup pieces, but...
No strong... You need him. I need him bad. Agreed.
I don't know. I'm switching gears back over to this. I, uh, it pisses me off, and I'm assuming
they're going to keep this trend. They didn't used to do it this way. But again, you mentioned
maybe we might not see Negan. We all want to know what happened after the, you know, rolling the
after the, you know, right, after he got his.
his reward.
Something, something.
We want to see that, but they probably won't do it.
We want a really quick thing on Michone.
You know, just, I wanted to see something yesterday on Michoud.
I did too.
But I bet you they string that along.
Either have her riding along the river or something.
I think she might be next episode.
I think.
I don't know if she will.
You've got Gippled now?
I think she might be.
I don't know if she will be here.
I'm not Gimple.
Thank God you're not.
Well, maybe that's not true.
Anyway, so we look forward to it.
actually, I enjoyed, you know what, I enjoyed the episode.
Now that I enjoyed this episode.
I enjoyed it too.
It wasn't a bad episode by any means.
It was definitely, I will say this, it was definitely better than the midseason finale.
Yeah, I think, I think you're right.
I think I almost could have had this be the midseason finale.
I would have been okay with that.
Yeah, I enjoyed it too.
It's easier to nitpick the thing.
Yeah.
Like, I really wish they would make a few.
tweaks and
been perfect.
As a whole
this season,
like if you think
about it, as a whole
this season's been really
good.
It was just really
the midseason finale
that put a dent in it.
So they should just call us.
Angela, Scott,
you can give me a call.
Now,
you know,
I just subscribe to a chewing the fat.
And so when we,
when we do the podcast.
We forgot to talk about the sneak peek
for next episode.
Okay.
Go ahead.
It was beta rising
from a grave in Alexandria.
Yeah,
I know they're going to fight in Alexandria, which is what I talked about.
I just love the scene with like Beda's hand coming out of the grave.
That was really cool.
That's great.
Look, that's what Elfa's doing, right?
She's going to attack because she thinks we have our crowd in a cave because she said,
don't let them out.
And she's got her people, some underlings, making sure that our people are stuck in a cave.
Now most of them are not.
Daryl's off on the hunt.
The rest of them are going back.
Hopefully they'll get there in time or they'll probably get there just as the
battle is brewing. So, I mean, we do have that to look forward to, which, you know, should be good.
And I'm excited for it. Was that a sneak peek for next episode or just later down the line?
No, next episode. And later down the line. Actually, I gave you a little bit of both. You're welcome.
That's why you should subscribe to chewing the fat. And then when Talking Walking Dead drops,
you'll have that as well. Two for one, you're welcome.
