Starting point is 00:00:00 Season 11, episode 13, titled Warlords. This is Talking Walking Dead. Welcome to it. Myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Buttrill and Maximus Fisher. We're in a little bit behind this week. I know. Back off me. We had a little problem with some Russian integrators into the system.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Putin's fault, bogging down the Internet. Are you sure you press the wrong button? No, it's not me. It's Putin's fault. Absolutely Putin's fault. So the episode on IMDB description is Maggie Lydia and Elijah help a stranger from another community called Riverbend. They run into Aaron who tells them about a mission. He embarked on with Gabriel as emissaries for the Commonwealth.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Now, in the episode that Putin has and that you didn't get, we all really loved the episode. I mean, it was that we obviously picked it apart. That's what we do. But the episode itself was really enjoyable. And so I'm just going to do a quick go around because we're, you know, we're coming up on a new Talking Walking Dead episode, which we are looking forward to. So, Jason, Warlords. By far my favorite episode in a long time, which is very odd because I've had a lot to complain about. And I don't think in our episode that Putin now has, I don't think I even did pick apart much, if anything at all.
Starting point is 00:01:42 but the new the new I guess minion for the bad guy you know that CIA former CIA agent yeah Toby Carlson Toby he is awesome
Starting point is 00:01:54 a little bit over the top sometimes but I love the concept I love that he was using like an NGO which is what CIA agents do in the real world you know his cover you know to go out and you know do whatever he does but yeah the moment he revealed himself
Starting point is 00:02:11 and, you know, stole the gun back or either he had it hidden, whatever he did, and then capped everybody in the room. I was like, oh, this is awesome. And then just to cap it off, Negan's showing up and being part of it. I mean, what else can you ask for from an episode? I know. Max?
Starting point is 00:02:29 I thought it was a really good episode. You were right? I loved Toby in this episode. He was really cool. Sean Bean. Michael. Michael Bean, not Sean Bean. God.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Michael Bean. Michael Bean. Didn't recognize him at first, but still. Yeah, me neither. Me neither. Great in this episode. Negan at the end, great. Aaron getting pissed off.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Same with Gabriel. I was right. I agreed with them not going in, but we know why they wanted to go in. Or at least Toby did. Right. Yeah. Yeah, no, I really enjoyed it. I thought Michael Bean was another bad guy.
Starting point is 00:03:09 but then and he's not sticking around because, you know, we killed him off. And when we heard him speak on the show that follows on the Walking Dead, that's the reason why. He started talking on set and they were like, this guy can't talk anymore. It, it was like a scene of Billy Madison. Hey, Jr., come on. Spit it out. Oh, I remember the one thing I did pick nitpick was I remember that I was iffy on this episode, they first showed us that group,
Starting point is 00:03:41 you know, the religious group. Oh, yeah, yeah, the cult? Yes, because I was like, mostly because of the one chick that was walking around with a scythe draped off her neck and was like, oh, I'm so scary. Trust me, I'm really, really, it was like, okay, yeah, okay, we got it. Your description on the call sheet said,
Starting point is 00:03:59 Scary Girl with a Sithe, okay, we get it. Anyway. I know. I mean, I had Max all mad at me the whole episode, because I kept calling her Kung Fu-S. no it's not even related to kung fu whatsoever he looked exactly like that don't bog me down with your little facts
Starting point is 00:04:16 and Toby Carlson played by Jason Butler Hunter who has been in a bunch of stuff and if you when you see the episode if you haven't seen it yet you'll recognize him he's been in some other stuff and his character and it was great it was kind of a reacher character that you know
Starting point is 00:04:33 he has his arms up all scared and then comes back Mr. Badass that was fun it was really fun and then again and nigan shows up and i mean hello wow nigan is part of this group now the point that they're going after the cult was because they were looking for this arms these weapons that were stolen and they believe this group took the weapons right now it looks as though they didn't take the weapons my thought is uh maybe they did maybe nigen did um i don't know you know he made a point of his new girl there in the cult that uh if she said they didn't take them they
Starting point is 00:05:09 didn't take him. That doesn't mean he didn't take him. Yeah. And they mentioned that the tracks went back to that place. So they're strongly hinting that there's this stockpile, this cachet of guns somewhere who's going to get to use it and it's probably you know like hilltop in the gang
Starting point is 00:05:25 or somebody to fight off. And then of course the episode ends with that cliffhanger of Aaron closing the door with Maggie, Elijah and and Lydia coming into the building. Well we find out right because they did the flashbacks where, you know, it was,
Starting point is 00:05:41 that's another thing we picked apart too. Oh, yeah. Because it was three days ago. One and one and a half hours later. And then it was one day, two hours and three minutes and 30 seconds ago. Okay. But that scene we got a Lance and it's always good to see Lance Hornsby. Yeah. But anyway, the one kid that died at the very beginning,
Starting point is 00:06:03 we find out that the map he had was given to him by Negan, right? So it's a Negan is you know, he tends the kid to go get Maggie for help because Aaron and Gabriel are out there and they're going to be outnumbered and they're going to need help, which I, you know, was was really kind of nice of him. And in the preview of the episode coming up this week, we see where Negan, which we called on this show was going to happen is that he saves the only way that he can redeem himself with Maggie some way. to save her kid somehow. And he does in this episode, in this coming episode. The clip that, you know, the preview clip that they showed showed him, uh,
Starting point is 00:06:47 killing a, uh, one of the, one of the other, one of the soldiers in front of her kid. And so, I mean, that's going to be, going to be pretty sweet. Give me a good episode. I need to watch that. I haven't seen that yet. Well, that's because it's not on until Sunday. The trailer. The trailer. But it has aired actually on AMC Plus.
Starting point is 00:07:14 It's tough not to watch them. It's tough to wait until Sunday, man. I'll tell you. But you know why I do it? For you people in the audience, listen, I wait until Sunday. They see it live on AMC Network, just like the old days. Are you sure it's that or you just don't want to pay for another streaming service? Again, don't bother me down with facts.
Starting point is 00:07:33 so I'm really looking forward to next week no question I don't know that uh you know I I like the Lance character and his little behind the scenes conniving but I don't I hope that gets us to a better place than just an over the top cartoon character I got a feeling it will I mean he seems like a he seems like one of the better adversaries than I've I've I've I've seen have seen from Walking Dead in a while. So, you know, there's some depth to him. He's obviously smart and he's wheeling and dealing to control the Commonwealth, which is very, very powerful.
Starting point is 00:08:13 So him at the reins or the controls of the Commonwealth is pretty scary in my mind. Yeah. All he has to do is deal with Pamela. Well, and if we get, right, and if he wants the power outside of Pamela, right? So maybe he's the one that is going to meet up with CRM and realize, you know, bringing in that C. because we're coming up to the end of part two of the final season
Starting point is 00:08:39 and then we have to wait through fear. We have to wait through fear with what's her face. Oh yeah. Jason, dad, Madison's coming back. Oh my gosh. And I saw the preview for the, for fear.
Starting point is 00:08:56 And again, most of the promo looks great. They always suck me in with the promo. I will never watch another. It was awesome. Did you watch it, Jason? No, I refuse to. Because every year, we're like, oh, look at this. It looks amazing. Oh, my God, there's
Starting point is 00:09:13 explosions. And it like, yeah, that was one part of the tiny bit of an episode. In this promo, of course, the last of it, it looked so good. The last part of it has Madison show up. Another reason why I refuse to watch this. It's like
Starting point is 00:09:29 a knife in the heart, man. For all of us, again, we are in the minority. I don't know. I think we're being trolled. I think we're being trolled with that. I think that's, I think. I think AMC is behind it, not the fans. I'm sticking with the Russians.
Starting point is 00:09:47 It's Russian by. Thank you. So this week's episode, Warlords, was really good, and I apologize for not getting to you sooner. But next week's show will be about the episode, the rotten core, which is episode 14. So we only have three left, right? 14, 15, 16.
Starting point is 00:10:07 And then we break off and make it to the, and then we have to wait, you know, again, through fear to get to the final eight. Oof, man. So it's getting close. So it's the next couple of episodes or whatever, and then fear and then does the final portion of this season kick off right at the end of fear?
Starting point is 00:10:23 I think so. They claim that they claim that it's, you know, the episodes 17 through 24, and they have 2022 tagged on it. So it's this year. Okay. At least it begins in this year. I don't know that it actually ends this year.
Starting point is 00:10:38 So this series will either end in December or February is my guess. Right. Yeah, at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 23. Isn't it usually October? That's when it starts. It starts up in October. Yeah. That's confirmed?
Starting point is 00:10:55 No, it is not. For this season? That's just the usual. Yes. No. But I'm just saying they say, in the paperwork when they release about, you know, when the episodes will be released, they don't give a date. They just say episode 17 through 24, 2022. They don't give the actual start and end dates. So, I mean, let's hope so, right? Let's hope let's end it in 2022. And they
Starting point is 00:11:22 might want to do that anyway because they have the new series coming out, right? I mean, they have multiple series that they've been promoting. And if they're ever going to get, get to the movies, which I doubt. I say personally, no way. If they get to one movie and they put it up on AMC Plus, that will be a bonus. Because I don't think they're ever going to get to it into their three movie realm for movie theaters. Because the show just isn't big enough anymore. Right.
Starting point is 00:11:52 We mentioned this and our other Putin card copy of this. But if they do the Isle of the Dead with Negan and Maggie and Rick is a part of it, I don't care about the movies. I really don't. No kidding. No kidding. That's a good call with Rick in it. Because now they're laying the groundwork for Negan and Maggie getting along, right? He saved the kid, like we said, they should do.
Starting point is 00:12:22 That's the way for them to make peace a little bit. and then bring Rick in for a little bit of that aisle. Oh, man, they won't need the movies. Maybe I'm seeing things or just, it's wishful thinking. But in that promo poster where it shows, it says Lincoln Tunnel and it has this direction. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Towards the city. I was like, that's got to be an Easter egg for, you know, what's coming.
Starting point is 00:12:46 It's got to be. Come on. You're telling me there's a chance here. I mean, let's hope so. I mean, I'll take, I used to live right there at the beginning of the Lincoln Tunnel, heading into Manhattan so I'm all for it. That was a sign to me. Now the shows we have coming up now are
Starting point is 00:13:02 Isle of the Dead, Tales of the Walking Dead, and the Unnamed Daryl and Carol and Carol show, which I still think might be a ruse. That's not going to happen. Please let it be a ruse. I know. I know. Because we have Tales of the Walking Dead, which has been confirmed for like two years at this point,
Starting point is 00:13:18 Isle of the Dead, which was just announced, and the Daryl and Carol show, which has been announced for about a year and a half, and still doesn't have a name. Yeah, because I don't think they got the, I don't think they got the, uh, the warm overflow of the Darryl Carroll show.
Starting point is 00:13:33 For sure, they didn't, it didn't make everybody's blood boil like Negan and Maggie. Yeah. No way. And as they are now, they're just annoying together. Right.
Starting point is 00:13:43 You know what I mean? It's like, why. Why do it? Agreed. All right. So, uh,
Starting point is 00:13:48 talking walking dead. Thank you so much for listening. I appreciate it. I just wanted to get a few minutes into, uh, while Putin, wasn't looking. It's a little distracted today and get it in for you. So we'll see you on Monday for Talking Walking Dead again with a fresh episode, a full fresh episode. Thank you for listening.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Jason Butchell, Maximus Fisher. Have a great week. What's left of it. And we'll see you next Monday on Talking Walking Dead.
