Season 11, episode 15, titled Trust.
However, we had Mercer and Princess, King and Carol, Eugene, and Max.
Could have been titled Business, as far as I was concerned, maybe even, you know, coupling, if you wanted to be nice about it.
No matter the title of this week's episode, the title of this show, Talking Walking Dead.
Welcome to it.
Myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Butchall and Maximus Fisher, IMDB description, Hornsby matches marches, Daryl, and troops to confront Maggie at Hilltop after a harrowing heist.
And Rosita gets Connie, Kelly and Eugene, and Max to investigate the Milton's.
Ezekiel helps hospital patients in need.
You know, I enjoyed this episode, and it was definitely laying groundwork for the final episode of Part
two next week
Acts of God. So, I mean, this
week was enjoyable
all around, I thought. Yeah.
I mean, it could have been
titled when the Commonwealth is a rock
and don't come a knocking.
Open it right up with that.
I was like, I didn't text
you, but I wanted to because I was like,
I think Jeffie's going to, this is probably
his all-time favorite opening sequence.
It was up there.
Yeah, when
it started, it showed Mercer and Princess
I was like, yep, yep, dad's going to like this.
There's just like, all of these like relationship arcs.
I mean, I'm going to get people yelling at me, but I mean, you can just tell when Angela King is at the helm of all this, right?
But I was surprised, though, that the Mercer and Princess, that was a comic book thing.
Yeah.
Versen and Prisance is a big comic book thing.
Yeah.
They're sticking to the arc there.
Yeah, it's just, it's, but it's more than that, right?
You know, it's like, you know, we got Daryl and the deaf chick, you know.
Yeah, we always, we obviously have more than just them.
Yeah, Daryl was on the road.
He didn't get any business this week.
Sorry.
Yeah, I know.
He's missing out.
But, yeah, we have his ex.
We have his ex.
Yeah, plus we have, uh, right.
We've got Daryl's ex involved now.
But we also, I mean, he really drew the line, uh, this episode when he went up against
Lance, right? I mean, that was a, that's a big deal. Who? When he went up against Hormsby at
Hilltop, you know, when he pointed the gun at him and, you know, spouted the F word. And it was,
you know, I didn't even, I mean, I'm so, this is going to come as a surprise to you. I know,
but I'm pretty comfortable with using that word in my real life. So it's like when I hear it,
it doesn't do anything to me. You know what? I didn't even notice it. So I'm right there with you.
I know. I know. I know.
You know, it's funny, the last F-bomb I think we had in the show was from Daryl, and that was when Rick and him were stuck in the hole.
The episode right before Rick left.
There you go.
But, I mean, I'm just, it was such, it was so, I wouldn't care if I heard it more, to be honest with you, but I realize it's a family show.
Family.
Is it?
Okay.
I watched her review the episode last night.
It was so funny.
She was just like, we could have blood and gore, but oh, God forbid, the, the episode.
F word. I know. I know. It's a big deal. And it worked, right? I mean, that's what I mean. I went back and
watched the scene. And just so that I was like, oh, yeah, he did say that. Because, you know, when he
said it, Max was like, did he just use the F word? And I'm like, okay. Sure. Sure. That's what he said.
I really like that entire sequence. A lot of the other stuff was just kind of like blah to me,
like all the Mercer stuff. And I mean, did we really need like a,
a 15 minute segment of Mercer working out.
I mean, I was like, uh,
it was like three minutes at most.
It felt like 15 max.
Gotta show him off though, man.
He's the man.
I know.
And I mean,
we just keep getting these like weird,
awkward scenes like that over the past couple of episodes,
like,
which most of I've enjoyed.
But I mean,
like that one dude that likes,
what is it,
Leah or whatever was just creepy.
I'm like,
dude,
she's like 15.
I mean,
come on.
You've got to be in your mid-20s.
I mean,
come on.
What?
This is just odd.
Which one?
This was two episodes ago where it's that, you know, that one dude that was like flirting with Leah?
And he always was like, hey, do you need a guide to go over to the Commonwealth?
You know, like.
Leah's Daryl's X, the military chick.
What's her name?
I don't know.
The whisperer chick daughter.
What's her name?
Oh, Lydia.
Lydia.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yes, and he was all hot for her.
Right.
For the ride.
Right.
I went on the truck ride, the trip, yes.
And still hinting at that in this episode, too.
I'm just like, come on, dude.
She's like a kid.
Like, this is just weird.
It's awkward.
It's like not needed.
I disagree.
Do you not know this is the aftermath of the end of the world?
It's out there, man.
One, I don't think she's a full-blown kid.
And two, same with Elijah.
And three, have you seen what the whispers were like?
Plus, I mean, there's only so many choices.
So you got to take your shot.
I was like, I was just thinking.
Leah is a full-blown adult.
What are you talking about?
I'm not on board.
I'm just,
I'm not on board.
Like,
well,
this little things like that.
I'm just like,
to me,
like,
and I got yelled at,
I think for criticizing Angela King on Twitter.
But I,
that's just like,
I just don't think that she's good for the show.
And,
uh,
this is little things like that that make me annoyed.
But there was a lot of stuff at Hilltop that I thought were really cool.
Like when,
uh,
that dude,
uh,
yanked up,
uh,
what's his name?
threw him against the wall.
When Elijah,
when Elijah yanked up Lance for us.
Yeah,
You know, a little bit of that.
Absolutely.
Also, you were, you were proud of Herschel this episode.
I was actually.
I thought that was really cool.
Herschel was, he was tough.
Yeah, he was like, no, I was, you know, I'm not telling you anything.
Right.
Nothing.
You could do whatever you want.
You can play around your little hat trick and you can ask me what's going on.
And Lance had pulled out the hat trick, which I thought was really cool.
Yeah.
Move on his part.
An actual hat trick.
Yeah, an actual hat trick.
He was trying everything he could to make them slip up.
And the scene with the truck was actually pretty suspenseful.
That scene with the truck was great.
That was awesome.
He wanted that to start so bad.
It was so awesome that it didn't.
And I was surprised, actually.
You know what I mean?
I was happy that it didn't, but they set it up well with the way that Maggie was looking at him.
You know, like it was possible that it could start up.
So they sold that well.
The situation.
Oh, was that last, was that this episode where,
where Lance had them
basically prove that they were bad asses
Yes. Yes.
Yeah, the walk from the asylum to hilltop.
The head explosion off of what's his name's.
Aaron's arm, yeah.
Yeah, it was.
My favorite was when Gabriel sliced his head.
It was obvious head.
It happened.
It just slides off.
It was great.
It was cool.
It was like,
okay,
you want to see what he can do.
You know,
and Daryl's like,
you know,
stabbing one guy in the head,
then turning around
and shooting through his head
to kill another.
It was just kind of like a show of power.
Kicks the head back and from.
Yeah, there you go.
You're happy savings of ammunition.
It was, but like, so I watched this on AMC Plus and I was, I said last episode that,
Angela King does like a little explainer.
And yeah, yeah, yeah.
So what she was saying about a lot of this that went, went down.
She said there's a, she, she, she set something up for the finale.
And she said there's a, there's a game being played now between Daryl and, and, and, and then,
and what's his name?
between Lance.
And basically the game is,
yeah,
they all know that they like Lance knows that Daryl is not loyal.
He's,
he's already turned on them.
He's just kind of biding his time,
you know,
just waiting.
And then Daryl also knows that Lance is completely against them.
And he's just waiting for his moment to take him out.
And,
uh,
yeah,
they're setting that up for,
you know,
the near future or something.
I'm actually surprised,
I guess maybe because of the kids,
but I'm actually surprised that he,
went back to common or you know went to go on the trip back to commonwealth with them
because after that after that showdown with lance i mean that pretty much said i'm not with you
that was i'm surprised that lance let him traverse back to commonwealth and and his and
rick's kids are still at the commonwealth i know and carol and going to school yeah you know like
it's the real world.
Yeah, that's the commonwealth.
So strange.
They're still underutilizing Judith, man.
It pisses me off.
She's like never in the show.
It's like, what are you doing?
It's like every once in a while a cameo.
Such a strong character.
What about RJ?
Not a strong character.
Whatever.
Okay, so I guess we're on Ezekiel now.
I liked Ezekiel this episode.
He had a little bit of his vigor back.
Everston, like,
Like he was right.
Getting a tumor removed gets a little happier.
Yeah.
And he kind of brought out the old Ezekiel
and he was like seeing Judith and what's his name?
I was very happy about that.
Bring forth young fellows.
A trick from the cup of knowledge.
It was awesome.
It was awesome.
I love the king.
He's got the, I love the, I love the,
what is it, the pheasant?
Is it pheasant feathers in the,
In the hair?
Oh, his reds.
Aren't those,
are those pheasant?
I don't,
I don't,
or peacock,
yeah,
not pheasant,
peacock,
that's what I mean,
yeah.
Yeah, that's what you meant.
Sure.
Yeah,
sure.
It is.
That's what I.
Fessons don't have feathers.
I know that.
I get pheasants and peacocks mixed up.
You can well understand.
They're darned near the same bird.
But,
so we had,
then we had Ezekiel go to Tommy, which by the way, Jason.
Bro doc. Oh yeah. We have to tell you this, Jason.
Thought of you last night in the show that follows. He was on. Bro doc Tommy was on.
And I don't know his real name. I apologize. What's his real name?
I actually don't know either. That's my bed.
What do I even have you here for?
But the actor who plays Tommy, Yumiko's brother, is an American doing a British accent.
Wow. Really?
Oh, I know.
What?
Exactly.
They wanted him.
He gave the story of how he got the gig, because they said they gave him an audition, but wanted him to audition with an English accent.
And so because of Yumiko, right?
Because Yumiko is English, so they wanted, they wanted her brother to have the same accident.
So he had never done that before.
And he told the story of how he called a friend of his in the United Kingdom and had his friend
read the script.
Just record the script for him
and he just memorized it and
and copied his friend basically.
That completely goes against the grain.
I know. He said they have a voice coach
and an accent coach and everything for him
to get better during the show. It's so weird.
That is weird.
We thought of you because we were like, Jason's going to love this guy.
He just became my favorite character,
I think. Just kind of striking back
of those dirty brits and very weird.
all our shows.
I know.
Because when you first see him
this episode too,
he's like drinking
with some drugs.
Now one could make the argument
that it isn't bad enough
that you're bringing
United Kingdom actors over here
to give them an English accent.
Now you want our actors
to have your accent?
No.
No, stop it.
I could make that argument.
Not me, though.
I'm just saying that one could.
So like that we saw how much
he basically pays his job
in this.
Yeah, well, that's why he wanted to work at the bakery, right?
I mean, in the beginning, he didn't want to be the doc anymore.
He was tired of being the doctor and having the pressure of people's lives in his hands,
which is weird because most docs like that God complex.
He does not.
Yeah.
That whole storyline with the girl with the appendectomy.
I don't know if they went into this on the Talking Dead afterwards, but Angela King's little thing on AMC Plus,
she said that the director of the show came over from ER.
Yeah, they did.
They said that.
Okay, cool.
Yeah, I thought that was interesting because that did look completely different from anything that we've seen on this show.
Yeah, it did.
It was like, I was almost getting, you know, you guys watch that show House.
Yeah, love house, yeah.
I was getting vives of like House or I didn't really think of VR until she said that.
But yeah, like ER, it was just like interesting.
Absolutely.
And it was interesting also that the patient was a person from the kingdom, which is why the king was.
the king wanted to save it. Oh, really?
Apparently,
Corey Payton, the guy who plays
Ezekiel, actually
said, oh, if we're going to do a surgery
scene with just a random person, let's have
a person from the beginning of the kingdom
back in season seven
to make it just connect more.
And it worked.
Perfect. Yeah, it worked. And also, it's a little
strange that, you know, I realize that
the king is Mr. Zookeeper
in the past, which is why I
had all the animals, but we're doing surgeries
in the back of a zoo.
I kind of did
think at first that it was going to be an animal.
I did too.
I thought we're going to save a rhino or something.
Yes.
You're doing an amidectomy on the last rhino.
I thought the same thing.
By the way, this episode kind of thought to me,
maybe just maybe you guys were kind of right
where Ezekiel might take Rick's spot
in the comic from the comics
of like changing the comments.
Commonwealth for the better and then
Sebastian murdering him in his bed
but yeah he's
he's setting himself up for being like that
champion of the people yes she is
which Rick was in the common
Rick was that
yeah he's definitely said
it makes sense it does and he's a past
ruler a past leader he knows how to
do it he knows how to bring him together
that's exactly what could happen yeah
yeah and he's talking about his network
at the end
uh
to get that that was this
episode, right?
What?
Was it this episode where he was talking about his network?
It's possible.
It could have been the final episode that's coming up next week.
Have you watched the line of next episode?
Yeah, I'm being very careful.
That final episode.
Okay, so if you guys gave me a dull look just now, maybe that's in the final episode.
Never mind.
Great.
Fighters.
This is what I ask.
Okay, this is all I'm getting asked now.
I know that I realize.
that I've gotten messed up looking at the promo
for the next, the upcoming episode and thinking that
actually, you know, I confuse them from the latest episode.
But I try not to watch the entire next episode
until we're done talking about this one.
Yeah.
Because it does get confusing.
I couldn't help it last night.
I looked to see if it would already come out, like right after it.
And it was already out.
And I was like, ah, crap.
I'm going to go ahead and watch it.
It's funny, too, because I think,
We're nine episodes away from the end.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Eight for some of us.
And they're not getting to CRM stuff.
It's like I wish they would have done that by now.
This is really pissing me off.
Yeah, I'm with you on.
I just don't think they'll fully bring in CRM because Commonwealth is very different, but similar in same ways.
Okay.
I don't.
We've been over this.
But we know they want to get.
How do we get Rick back?
I have no clue.
Because we've had this argument.
We have this argument.
all the time in this house
and I'm getting tired of having it,
by the way.
I know, I know.
I know.
But I,
they have to bring Rick back
so that people know
who the hell he is.
And I just disagree with that
because everybody knows who Rick is.
Yeah, the,
the hardcores do,
but a wider audience does not.
They have,
he's got to be reintroduced somehow.
It just has to be.
The people that think Madison
is a worthy character
to bring back on fear
have no effing clue who Rick Grimes is.
That's a lie, unfortunately.
That's kind of a good point.
Jason, unfortunately, that is a lie because I have seen...
Shut your dirty mouth.
I have seen a lot of people, especially, even when Rick was on this show,
when Rick was on this show,
saying they liked Madison a bit more than Rick.
I'm not kidding.
No way.
I am not kidding.
I can find...
All right.
You can't be on this podcast.
No way.
I don't think that.
That Twitter account.
had two followers. It doesn't count. I don't think that, people. I don't think that. I'm just saying
the truth here. Now, that is the minority thought that Madison is better than Rick, but it is not
the minority thought that Madison is good. See, some things should be given the Voldemort treatment
where we just don't say those things out loud. We can't say it anymore. We just can't say
them. If it goes out into the universe, it's a lot. I definitely agree with saying that the Voldemort
of Madison is better than Rick.
Yes, I do not agree with that at all.
You said it again.
I know.
I know.
So before we get, go ahead.
I'm sorry.
Well, I was just to say that, but my point is that's where I wanted to go.
So I keep on looking for these like hints of CRM.
And they keep bringing up that list, right?
Brought it up again in this episode.
Right.
That's Commonwealth.
That is not CRM.
Okay.
But it could, but it could be a list of people they're giving to CRM.
You know what I mean? I mean, that's what I was hoping. That was like my, that was my first, not first, but I think that's where I'm at now.
They made a point, it's not a bad idea. They made a point of saying that there were more names on the list than what they've used, right? And because we had what's her face, April that we all care about, you know, presumably that we all care about is why we're, you know, whistle blowing on the Commonwealth.
that those people either were giving them to CRM or we know that they are from CRM.
Yeah.
Right?
And they're trying to just infill come into the Commonwealth.
Or it could be a completely different thing and you guys are overthinking this.
Oh, I mean, none of us know, right?
I mean, they haven't revealed it yet.
So there's no clue what it is.
And I feel like I think we talked about it last week that maybe we talked about it on the episode that Putin had.
I feel like Maggie will get involved with CRM because of Rick, right?
She hates Commonwealth so much.
And she knows the battle has started now.
She wasn't started when she said no to them.
And Lance won't have it.
You know, he's already, he already, we know that he, at the end of this episode,
they catch Leah who stole the weapons and he makes the wants her to work for them right I mean
he wants her to work for him as an assassin and we know that and I again I think this was in the
promo this was in the promo yeah the promo where they he's giving her to lead soldiers to go and kill
who we think is Maggie right and so I think that uh the way that they get Rick back as Rick
comes in to help Maggie.
I will give you a preview for next week.
That's pretty cool.
The Leah hit squad,
which involves,
you know,
other soldiers of Commonwealth,
is very cool sequence.
So just get ready for that.
You want Leah to die.
I want Leah to die.
I want Leah to die.
I want her to be close to death with Maggie
and then have Darylb killer.
That's what I want.
That's how I want.
that to happen so that.
Oh, I wish I could talk right now.
This is why you don't watch.
This is why you don't watch the episode before.
And at the end of the episode, at the end of the episode, we see, you know, a shadow of Rick back in the woods watching it all.
How would that make sense story-wise?
Because it just does.
It brings Rick back.
I want it to make sense story-wise, my friend.
What you won is a silhouette of Madison.
Cracker.
Hell no.
That would mean she's coming to the main show, which none of us want.
Do any of us want Madison on the main show?
No, no.
No, we do not want that crossover.
And that could happen because of what's his face.
Morgan?
Yes.
And Dwight.
And Dwight, yes.
That could happen.
I know.
I know.
Fears on in two weeks, man.
I know because the final episode right next week, the episode 16, Acts of God.
And then that's a wrap.
They've already filmed.
They're already done filming the final eight.
The Walking Dead is officially done filming.
Yeah, we saw the Instagram post that said that's a rap on Instagram with the, you know, with the block.
And they showed a big picture of the cast in the yard at Hilltop.
And we saw, you know, Maggie.
in the crowd, Carol in the crowd, Deegan in the crowd.
Darrell.
We saw Darrell in the crowd.
We saw Nicotero in the crowd.
And you know what you can't make out.
There's a couple people that could be Rick, but you can't make it out.
There's a, there's a kid that could be.
Chandler Riggs.
Some people are saying.
Chandler Riggs was there.
I mean, you can't make it out, but it looks like it.
But, I mean, it's over.
I mean, the filming is done.
They just have to put it together.
together. They know they know where they were going to go. They already went there. It's done. It's over.
So it's so funny that the guy who plays Tommy on this episode was just when on the show that comes on after.
He was just like, well, they can't fire me now. So I guess I could spoil things.
They could take back a lot of money. Yeah. They could take back a whole lot of money.
I think I feel like they just been going really slow with this. I mean, there's a lot of, it seems like this.
half was a lot of setup. There's been some cool
episodes. There has been some really good episodes.
The last couple
have been really good, yeah.
But things have been pissing me off with
how they're underutilizing characters like
Negan and like Judith
and characters that would really love to see
on screen. And then they bring back characters
that we don't even care about. Like, Leah.
Like, I don't care.
Like, that plot line should have been buried
done. Forget it.
And I was surprised that
what we didn't see what they did with the asylum people, right?
Did we send those people to the island?
You find out next week.
Okay.
Did we send them to the island or did we send them to Alexandria?
Don't spoil.
Do you want me to tell you?
No.
Once this episode is over, I do.
I'll tell you that.
No.
I hate spoilers.
I'm not like you.
but because it was I was almost half expecting
Negan to just be sitting inside one of the buildings
at Hilltop, you know, when the soldiers came in
and just, you know, they, them not knowing who he is,
but him just being there.
Well, the funny thing is, as I've said before,
all this is new with Neagans.
Ever since here's Negan, this is all beyond comic territory with him.
So was Leah, though.
Well, Lee, no, no, no.
I'm talking different.
Like, Negan is a comic book character where his story ended and didn't show up at all after this,
where Leah is a original character.
They're like Daryl.
So there is a different.
None of the roles matter because Carl is a comic book character and should still be there as a main member.
Rick, too, right?
And Rick should still be there as well.
That's Andrew Lincoln's fault.
That's not the show's fault.
Bishone, Carl.
Not Andrew, Andrew, Andrew is dead.
Yeah, Andrew is dead.
Yeah.
Oh, no.
Andrew.
But they've radically gone.
They've clearly shown that it doesn't matter as far as what happened in canon.
So if you have a strong actor like Jeffrey Dean Morgan, screw it, make his roll bigger.
Right, we've already decided that we're going to continue to use it, right?
The fans love him.
The show, the show works with him.
Let's use it.
Don't underutilize him.
Yeah, I don't understand that at all.
Makes no sense.
I mean, first of all, it's the final season, and you're setting up a show that you've already said you're going to make after Walking Dead is done.
let's give the fans more of that character so that they want more.
It's a good point.
So they kind of have to utilize him more.
Probably in part three.
My guess is part three.
Right.
I mean, because it makes sense, they probably won't.
I wonder if Maggie will get her role as a governor of the Commonwealth at the end of the series.
Like she takes Pamela's spot.
Well, we're saying that the king gets that, right?
No, no, no.
We're saying King might get Rick's spot, where Rick leads the revolution against the Commonwealth,
it would not a war, but like a societal revolution.
And because of that, Sebastian kills him.
And after that, Maggie takes over as governor of the Commonwealth.
Who takes over in the comic?
Maggie. Maggie becomes where the comics, too, yeah.
That's probably what's going to happen.
Yeah.
What happens with Mercer?
He stays with Princess.
Throughout the comics, and they, and they, he still, he lives.
Because I feel like if something happens to his sister, that brings him to the revolution.
He's really struggling with trying to be on the inside and keeping things straight and keeping things together.
But if something happens to his sister, all he has left then is Princess and the Revolution.
Well, with what Eugene's asking her to do.
I know.
It's possible.
I know.
It could go down bad.
Yeah.
And if that happens, oh, boy.
Mm-hmm.
You know, there's not a lot of us that can work out and keep themselves in the same.
That scene.
I was like, what are you doing?
So stupid.
They're just in the gym working out the whole time.
The dialogue was good in that scene.
Oh, that's awesome.
Like, the dialogue was really good in that scene.
Angela King was like in the pitchman.
hot man on the screen who's listening to dialogue.
It's Angela Kegg.
She was like in a pitch meeting and she's like,
how can we get Mercer and a lot less clothing and hot and sweaty?
Let's do,
let's have this conversation in the gym.
He's a soldier.
He's got to work out.
That's awesome.
So anyway,
next week,
the final mid end of season finale,
acts of God.
And then we have to wait,
right?
then we got to get into fear and we have to wait for the final eight oh man it's going to be a long wait
because i feel so october october that every promo i watch of fear i want to like until the one promo
that has her at the end just kicks me in the balls every time like man this trailer's
really good oh hi there she is oh no and i'm bent
over again i gotta say this i wish they didn't reveal that madison was coming back and not even in the trailers
i wish they kept it a secret so i could see everyone's reaction including you two live of her being back
without no announcement but the would have been great it would have been however if going by what you
say that she you know people are you know there's more people that like her than don't we're on the
we're on the minority of that.
So bringing her back,
they have to promote that, right?
It brings the,
makes the crowd happy.
Fair point.
So, I mean, they have to promote that.
All right.
I'm looking forward to next week.
