Starting point is 00:00:00 Season 11, episode two, still working on the final season, titled Archeron Part 2. Welcome to Talking Walking Dead. Welcome to it. Myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Buttrill and Maximus Fisher. IMDB description, Maggie's mission takes the team through a subway tunnel challenged by lurking walkers and a reenact, in a re-lucic, recalciton. Oh, yeah, recalciton, Megan. well, whatever. Was he? Was he really? I don't think so. I don't even need to read anymore. Before we start, Maggie didn't die. Just had to get that out there.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Oh, I know. I kind of really wanted her to, too. I'm a little bit. I thought I was, I was thinking, should I feel bad for hoping that she is dead? As a fan of the show, yes. She'd feel bad that you wanted her death. As a fan. of this show, no. Right. You should not. It's weird that we're kind of cheering for Negan, the bad guy.
Starting point is 00:01:28 He's not the bad guy anymore. Plus, Maggie's coming around. You think about it. Now, she, you know, okay, so she finally came through and did her little SOS at the bottom of the train car. At first, you thought it was going to end up being just like hubby, right? She was going to cover herself with goo,
Starting point is 00:01:45 and we were going to find her later. We found her quicker than I had anticipated. but with her little story of her rescue, you know, her finding food and saving her kid and killing people and walkers, you realize, and so did she, that she's not that far off from Niggin. That's just the way we had to do it to survive. I mean, she's still pissed that Diggins killed her husband, but I think she understands it more. Well, we're really jumping around. I got to say during that whole that whole
Starting point is 00:02:19 cool story bro moment I was like all right this is like that scene in the movie where the old man is like so there I was and it continues for like 45 minutes
Starting point is 00:02:30 I was like okay okay okay are you still going okay okay if it wasn't for if it wasn't for COVID we may have even had a flashback
Starting point is 00:02:44 yeah Yeah, probably. We've even had a flashback. I wouldn't have minded that just to see that Walker in person. Can you imagine? Once upon a time. No, think of her description of that walker, especially with a pregnant baby walker inside the stomach. That would have been really cool.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Yeah, in person. No, I guarantee you, I guarantee you, if not for COVID, that would have been a filler episode. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I like that. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. It's been awesome.
Starting point is 00:03:12 And then we would have, you know, we would have watched. it okay then fine and then we would have complained maybe it would have been amazing so the whole I mean we could go we could jump around as the show did or we just stick with maggie's crew and then we go to the
Starting point is 00:03:31 commonwealth which is fine with me either way I enjoyed the episode though I enjoy I don't know that I enjoyed it as much as episode one but I enjoyed it no I thought it was good I thought the whole, it was just non-stop action
Starting point is 00:03:47 except for like brief lulls when someone wants to tell a 45 minute story. But beyond that, it was, yeah, it was non-stop action. I, uh, I guess I knew deep down in my heart that Maggie wasn't going to get killed. I know, I know.
Starting point is 00:04:02 But then it's, that little interaction when she's down on her back, showed like, kind of the stupidity of the entire of all the tension. Like, why don't you guys just crawl underneath all of the railroad cars. The walkers aren't going
Starting point is 00:04:17 to crawl down there after you. So just at least all the safety. I mean they crawled after Darrell. They just won't crawl after Maggie. Oh yeah, I don't know how that one guy. He must have died in there, right? I didn't understand that how the walker was. He just showed up. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not quite sure I understood that anymore. That was a good
Starting point is 00:04:35 scene with Darrell, like when him looking around with dog and he sees the mural and then the dollar bill like letter and then the one lost like Frostbite Walker or whatever. Yeah, when he found the hidden room in the tunnel that was a big deal now. I mean, they're all dead. You know, that's a new world.
Starting point is 00:04:56 That's a long time ago. It's just him remembering how life was. I felt so stupid during all of that because I was like, there's got to be more to this than just him looking at, you know, crap, almost at a bad word on the side of, you know, painted on the side of this subway tube. There's got to be some hidden meeting. So I'm like pausing it, you know, and looking at all the different things. And I'm like, no, that's pretty much just all it is. Right. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:25 We don't know who the kids were at the picture. We just know that they wrote the note out of the money. Right. So now he's feeling bad about that. I, yeah, it's got to be. I was thinking maybe the kid was, you know, maybe one of their group back at Alexandria now. Something. Something.
Starting point is 00:05:41 I was expecting to see like the rings of the consortium or something. causing it the entire time. A drawing on the wall was somebody that we should know something. Yeah, there's got to be. And maybe we get back to that. Rick was here, something? That was a bone? Maybe.
Starting point is 00:05:59 A selfie of Rick and the Walker or something. But no. No. And then he's busy. I mean, chasing dog. I thought dog was trained a little bit better. It seems like he's just partially trained. right just running off barking at random crap come on dude it's just have we not seen once upon a time in
Starting point is 00:06:23 hollywood you just watched that awesome and i mean but the dog is trained i mean the dog is super trained in that movie have you seen it yeah yeah the dog is super trained that's what i'm talking about that's where i you know darrell needs to train that dog get on it dude you're right thank you I want a couple of and have that dog stop Then we had We had the train scene with Gage
Starting point is 00:06:52 That was very interesting Because that was before the The story time with Maggie Yeah yeah Well that's what brought it on Right was we have Gage and You know try that we can't save you Sorry we have a nice day
Starting point is 00:07:07 Which is what leads me to You know she's You know more like Negan That she is ready to admit are only half admits now, which kind of, you know, brings them a little bit closer to peace with each other. So that's the only thing I could think of that. That little action right there that explains, uh, what's his name, uh, Negan's real name? Uh, what's his real name? When Jeffrey Morgan said that he, for turning his back after he read more in the script,
Starting point is 00:07:40 then he was like on board with it. Just to say that, you know, Negan wasn't willing to sacrifice himself there to help her. She was not willing to sacrifice herself and the rest of them to save that one guy. Right. Basically the same thing. Yeah, exactly. That was the thing.
Starting point is 00:07:56 It's the exact same thing yet Negan got the crap for it. Right. Right. Yeah. And so that, I mean, that was the whole point of it. No question.
Starting point is 00:08:06 And so we'll see as the future lies. I mean, we saw, we saw, as we're coming. into the end of this episode and I know we'll get back to we'll get back to the group at Commonwealth but at the end we meet the reapers right as they get to this neighborhood in DC and that was pretty awesome to see the street lined with all the dead people hanging by their ankles it was awesome that was cool yeah that was sweet they were on with the visuals in this everything from that show the Reaper showing up everything from when what's his face Gage got killed in the in the train where his skin gets peeled back. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:43 That was dope. I wasn't expecting him to kill himself. Right when he stabbed himself a couple of times. That was awesome. Yeah. What kind of idiot does that, man? Take a few out with you before you. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:54 That's why we left you there. And did anyone get some John Wick vibes when Daryl was coming up the backside? They totally stole from that. Absolutely. It was a great shot through the windows. I said this during the episode. And I was like, and here we have a rare shot of Daryl using a gun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Yeah. I think, I don't think, I've been looking. I don't think we've had one single miss over two episodes, whether it be bow, knife, or gun. They are dead to ride straight in the forehead every single time. Crazy. That's awesome. Mark's on ship, I guess. No doubt about it.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Maybe there's like a pill they take, you know. Those are the only weapons left now are weapons that don't miss. You're right. That's the only ones they have. Self-guiding weapons, I guess. Absolutely. And I love the, I mean, the grenade kill from Daryl in the train was awesome. I was fun to watch.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Yeah, that was cool. I don't understand, though. Why at some point? Did we not just wipe ourselves down with some? walker goo and go through the walkers to survive. Yeah. When we're concerned about our ammo, we're concerned about having enough to protect ourselves. Okay, well, let's just go up and get out of here.
Starting point is 00:10:23 You said that when they were in the train. They couldn't do that. What do you mean that when they first walked into the train car? There was at least a couple of walkers in there that they got rid of. Use their goo. Use the ones that they're stabbing in the plastic bags. Yes, whatever. Go up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:41 Well, that would have taken away the drama. Don't start bogging me down with your old guy. I mean, there was the only, my only gripe, there was nothing really to gripe about this episode. My only gripe was, I was kind of annoyed when Maggie went off on her little spiel. Because I was like, I don't mind hearing that story. It's just, dude, give us the bullet points, you know, like bullet point story for us, not like half the episode. You can sit there in the car going, oh, Jesus. I know, I'm surprised.
Starting point is 00:11:11 They should have had him say something. Like, geez, lady. I actually like the scene, but that's my... No, I mean, it's a, you know, it's a scene that needs to be had to, you know, on top of leaving gauge in that car to die, that scene needed to happen. So that, you know, we,
Starting point is 00:11:32 everybody gets the picture that Maggie is more like Negan that she was ready to admit. But still, I mean, Jason's right. It's like, okay. All right. So I guess Maggie, I wonder if that's going to how they're going to explain Negan's existence in her presence, is that she just kind of understands him now. Well, we're not going to like each other.
Starting point is 00:12:00 We're just going to be. Right. We get each other. Yeah. We don't like each other. we get each other. Right. And I'm not going to, I'm not going to take orders from you, Maggie to Negan, but I am going to use your expertise, right? I'm going to, when we, when needed, I will use your expertise. So that's, that's good. I'm glad Megan actually said what we've been
Starting point is 00:12:26 saying all along. Meagan's the golden egg of the group, basically just unleash him when he needs to. Yeah, absolutely. So then we get to the kind of. Okay, these scenes. Which was enjoyable. And my girl, princess, I love her. She grows on me about more and more every week. I love her. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:47 We want to talk to the manager. Yeah, yeah. The greatest lines over. We've all seen that person in the store. Yeah. But it was interesting to see how the group, well, first in getting back to Princess, as she has to use the restroom
Starting point is 00:13:11 and finds out there's toilet paper. It's like heaven. Which was really good. And then we had, you know, Eugene freaking out, which I guess in the end, it worked out because at the beginning, you're like,
Starting point is 00:13:29 dude, come on. What are you doing? Well, so, and I was, and I'm still conflicted over whether he was, really freaked out?
Starting point is 00:13:38 Or this was part of like the little mind game Eugene was doing when he saw that he was, I don't know, I almost seemed like he knew he was being separated on purpose after Princess disappeared. So then he's because remember that? He's all fidgeting around and then right when he launches into his
Starting point is 00:13:55 prepared story, his hands went completely calm on his legs. Right. Remember that? I feel like at that time, that was after what's his face, the orange guy. what's his name? Mercer? Yeah, Mercer. He said, don't lie to me or I'll know.
Starting point is 00:14:13 And obviously some of what Eugene said was the truth, but definitely not all of it. And he didn't sell out the entire group. You know, they were, he made it seem like he was just them and stuck with the story. And I feel like when Mercer said, you know, I don't know when you're lying.
Starting point is 00:14:34 That's what he realized, I've been lie. My whole freaking life, dude, you're not going to be able to tell when I'm lying. I'll tell you the story I want you to know. Right. I was nervous that whole time. I thought he was actually going to give them up. When the camera zoomed in on his
Starting point is 00:14:50 hands going calm, I was like, oh, now he's just coming out with it, so he's not nervous anymore or whatever. But no, I think that was him steadying himself because he was about to launch the plan that he had already Yeah. Because the thing with... Yes, it was. The thing with Eugene is,
Starting point is 00:15:06 Okay, we met him. Oh, he's a scientist that needs to get to D.C. for a cure. You're up. Now he's lying. Nope, that's not the truth at all. Up, now he's a savior. Nope. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Yeah. So, I mean, that was really cool. And then, of course, we get, you know, they get processed. And everything is wonderful. We're going to end up with some Commonwealth business. We met Stephanie. We finally met her. That's right.
Starting point is 00:15:36 not a catfish. It's going to be you, Gene's going to be taking care of a little little sum of some. So this is crazy. So are, no. So Rick is he there? Yeah, Rick is there, right?
Starting point is 00:15:52 Unless they're putting him in that other community. What? No, Rick isn't in the Commonwealth. But he's supposed to be, right? In the comics? Oh, in the comics. Yes, Rick is in the part of the Commonwealth group.
Starting point is 00:16:03 So now they have him in the consortium group. assuming they're not connected in some way. Oh, CRM, yes. Rick got taken by CRM, as we remember from that episode where he got picked up by the helicopter. I don't think CRM and the Commonwealth are connected. No clue. That's still a huge mystery to me. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:23 So, I mean, we've got to figure, I mean, I don't know how you bring Rick in unless Rick comes with the CRM people to meet the Commonwealth people. people, right? They, they find each other out and try to work some arrangement, right? Be like, you know, us and the Taliban, just a thought. No politics. Man, I'm hoping they, I'm hoping they get back onto the comic book storyline with him. You know, just to have the, just to have the right ending. If he's, if he's completely out of, you know, running on some other made up storyline, I'm just going to be kind of pissed, I guess.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Okay, spoilers for the comic, so mute yourself for about 30 seconds. I just don't want Rick dying by being shot after he just woken up. Just saying. Yeah. Well, I mean, I don't either, but he needs to be back. I mean, he needs to be introduced to this audience all over again, and he needs to be back. No question. Somehow that needs to happen.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Now, whether he's, you know, he was being treated as just a. test subject at CRM. So we're going to have to, you know, he's going to have to be rise above that with CRM in the world beyond. Maybe he'll be in season two world beyond. Let's hope. And then I'll lead into the movies. You still don't think they're happening, do you?
Starting point is 00:17:56 I don't know. They seem to be dilly dapping along with these movies. I don't know that it's going to happen now, unless they bring Rick back because nobody knows who the heck he is now. Big deal. He's still in the intro. Yeah, which is right. And he's still in the intro.
Starting point is 00:18:12 But if I'm a fan that's been watching for, what has it been? Two or three seasons now? If I'm a fan and fear and world beyond with just a little snippet of him, he's still in the open. But nobody knows who he is. It's just a shadow in the open, big deal. I don't know. We need him back. Who's that British lawyer chick?
Starting point is 00:18:38 What's her name? Oh, Umico. Yeah. I really, Dex, remember? Because you love Magna and then they were together and then they broke up. Oh, I remember Magna.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Yeah, I'll never forget that name, but Yumiko escapes me. Oh, because she was with my chick. You've already broken them up. Don't worry about it. Gabriel's still with Rosita, though. But I really dug that scene with her where she was just calling their number like hardcore like saying like
Starting point is 00:19:09 call out what they did before why they used money all that stuff I was like dang girl that was cool right that was really good and also after they were processed a really really good scene was when Mercer
Starting point is 00:19:25 came up to the king and said I went to West Point asshole yeah I was just some smart ass beat cop that was really funny that was a fight back on his part
Starting point is 00:19:42 he wanted to tell him that's so bad when he first laid it out to him he couldn't stand it yeah it was really funny that was great a funny thing too is like when she had to go to the bathroom like princess she was just like and look the fine ass man in there
Starting point is 00:19:55 I have to go to the bathroom okay yeah really good so I mean this group their initial their original goal was to have to find people that could help out back at Alexandria, right? Yes. Yes. Because do they think the Whisper War are still going on?
Starting point is 00:20:13 Yeah, they do. Wow. So how is that? I mean, in the comics, how did they, what did they do after they made first contact? Did a group of them stay over there? And like, what happened?
Starting point is 00:20:27 It's been a while. I'll have to reread it. But from what I fully remember, the Whisper War did fully end. with Eugene there already, and they left after the Whisperer War. I think they were just scouting out really far away, and then they went, then they got on the common, found the Commonwealth. Right. So did the Commonwealth come help Alexandria for anything?
Starting point is 00:20:50 No. No, not during the Whisperer War, because it was already over at that point. No, I know, but after. After they kind of merged, and then it was mainly a big politics issue of within the Commonwealth and how things are run, and Rick not liking how things are run there. So we can to expect Commonwealth and Alexandria to get together. Right?
Starting point is 00:21:14 Okay. No, they're going to have to somewhere. And that's where I think we get Rick come back. Rick, if he's with CRM and he becomes some sort of power inside CRM, CRM is going to have to try to negotiate with Commonwealth because the worlds are going to get big enough to collide. right if that's where we get Rick back with our people with with his people oh it's gonna be so good I know I hope they do it I know I do too
Starting point is 00:21:43 because the original Commonwealth group that that was sent out to the one they found them in the comics if I'm remembering correctly was Eugene you know Umico Magna and Michone because Magna and Umico didn't break up in the comics and Michone was still with us all right well we still we don't know what's happening back at Alexandria right that's going to be next episode where we find out that they i guess they're going out to hunt for horses to eat that was yeah yeah that was the trail where carroll was like if we don't find those horses we won't have food so i mean don't bring darrell back because dogs getting ahead
Starting point is 00:22:27 uh you know i know you love that thing but uh i need some uh I need some backbone come up my way real soon. Dogburger. It's big in the zombie apocalypse. You are lying. Big time. So, I mean, that could definitely happen.
Starting point is 00:22:49 And then we get we're going to end up seeing the kids next week because they're coping with everybody being gone. More Judith. Yay. So we'll see how and then we'll get the Reapers war. At least the beginning of the Reapers.
Starting point is 00:23:06 in D.C. That'll be fun. I completely forgot about Judith. Dang. I know. That's what I'm saying. They're back. They're starving to death. Right? So, I mean, they've got to, while our group at the Commonwealth hasn't sold them out as a bigger group. I mean, they've got to realize that even though we know that they still believe the Whisper War is going on. And they also are there to try to figure out a way to provide something for their group back at Alexander. Yeah, I don't mind hearing that storyline. I don't mind it.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Actually, I want to know, but I just hope that it keep the Star Wars model going. I don't want to just have an entire episode of Alexandria hunting for food while everyone's gone. You know what I mean? They better keep up the story with the Commonwealth. They better keep up the story with the, what are they called? The Reapers. The Reapers, yeah. Yeah, well, they say in the promo, they talk about Maggie's mission team gets
Starting point is 00:24:06 separated and hunted by the reapers and then carol rosina magna and kelly so magnus back attempt to catch horses for alexandria and the kids try to cope with the parents going away so we'll get some of we may not get a whole bunch of the reapers though we'll get a little bit of that and then we'll get a whole bunch of horse hunt and better have some of commonwealth it doesn't say it doesn't say anything about that now in that next episode So they might just write that off. I mean, our people got processed in, right? So the next time we see Commonwealth,
Starting point is 00:24:42 because the episode after that is Darrell and Dog get captured by the Reapers, and they're taken to the meridian and reconnect with a familiar figure from the past. So someone in that episode is going to be all of that. We won't see the Commonwealth again for at least a couple episodes. I read that promo, and the thing is it says a figure from their past. Meaning, I believe, both dog and Daryl. I think we're going to have a run-in with Leah again, or Leah, whatever, her name was. Daryl's girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:25:17 Oh. So, I mean, we may get, we may have a couple episodes with business, walk at that business going on. Is Daryl just like, is that his thing? He's like, you know what? It's been a season. I'm going to get captured again by the episode. Dude.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Come on. Megan, the whispers. Maybe you don't chase after that stupid dog. Maybe you stay with the crowd. We appreciate you coming back and saving us at all. But I know. Overall, it was a good episode. It was fun to watch.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Yeah, it was good. No complaints here. When you have that much carnage, that much gore, that much zombie killing, you can't really complain about it. Yeah, this episode was a pretty good episode. And it was a good two-partner. How would you rate it as just, one hole, the two partner as a whole.
Starting point is 00:26:08 Oh, yeah. Awesome. Yeah, same. They should have run it the same thing. It should have been one, one episode, one night. That would be cool. Yeah, it would have been great. All right, so this is Talking Walking Dead. Jason Butchell, Maximus Fisher, myself, Jeff Fisher. Thank you for listening. And remember to subscribe to chewing the fat so you know when this episode drops weekly, sometimes more. We may even throw in a special episode every now and then. You're welcome. Thanks for listening to Talking Walking Dead.
Starting point is 00:26:36 Thank you.
