Season 7, episode 11, titled Ophelia. It really should have been titled, People Suck. But this is Talking Walking Dead Fear, the Walking Dead edition. Welcome. Yes, it is Talking Walking Dead Fear Edition with myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Butchrell, and Maximus Fisher. IMDB description. Luciana and West test the limits of their patience when Daniel's worsening mental state ends up endangering them all. I will say, you know, because it was Daniel, I, you know, I enjoyed the episode.

I do not like the, uh, the weakening mental aspect of it. But I do like the idea that, uh, he has a way to, uh, make himself Daniel and not just the crazy old man with Alzheimer's. So, I mean, I kind of enjoyed that. Yeah, same. I, uh, I didn't hate this. Like I've hated a lot of the other episodes, pretty much every other episode. We actually got a little bit of Morgan. We actually had things happen that was consequential, which I was into.

So, yeah, it wasn't too bad. Absolutely. And I enjoyed, I enjoyed a couple of the twists in the show, which, you know, we haven't had a lot of. I mean, we got the last week, we had, you know, lover boy, you know, pushed off the roof. That was about the only real thing that happened outside of love, exciting, and new. But overall, I really enjoyed it. I thought this episode was pretty good, especially compared to the previous two. We did get a little bit of Morgan and a little bit of Dwight at the end, some Sherry, Sarah, all that.

And then the whole group thing, we had a lot of Daniel, which I knew you were happy about. Absolutely. And he definitely was a badass this episode, which you were happy. about even though, yes, his mental state thing, but you did get a little fix for that with his focus thing. Yeah. No question. And we learned that he was, I mean, he told us he was trained by the CIA, right?

We knew he was down south in Central America. I think we knew that we knew. I don't know that we knew he was actually trained by the CIA. But, you know, he did. Maybe, man, maybe we did. I just know that he, you know, he absolutely said it this episode. I do like the, you know, I, you know who I'm tired of? Okay, that's what I want to go out and all up here.

All right. Is the whole trucker Mo Moly? I had enough for her. It's time for her to go. We've had her for a while. Yeah, it's time for her to go. I don't care. It's time for her to go.

I have enough of her. Okay, you know what? She's annoying me. You know what, no. Okay, how about this one, guys? You have to get rid of one character. Sarah or Sherry? Oh, the trucker goes.

Really? Yeah, you wouldn't get rid of Sherry. No, I wouldn't get rid of Sherry. No, I wouldn't get rid of Shade. I don't think so. she's annoying at times but I mean she's at least one of those like major characters that we've known about for a long time

from the original show and that kind of leads me to a point where I didn't mind I don't so okay I don't mind that they had this Luciana and Daniel thing because that makes sense but like why not have another consequential character or characters

go with them to be the focus of the show like they brought Dwight over because he was you know I assumed because they thought that that would bring in more viewers because he had a big role in the regular show, the original show. Well, why does he just like have this one, he's on for three minutes of screen time or something? I wouldn't even, he'd be lucky to have three minutes.

If they sent, if they sent, like, Dwight and Sherry with Luciana and Daniel would have been better, in my opinion. And that other dude could have had the Dwight three minute screen time. I would have been less. Right. Yeah. But Wes wasn't bad this episode. I'll admit that.

I mean, they gave us, they gave us Wes as the, you know, as part of the, the twist, right? Because, because this is, this was Teddy's old group. Right. And you're, I'm with you on that, though, Jason, is that even, and even if you still leave the West twist in there. Yeah, I could stay. Just have the other characters there. Yes. Right.

Yes. Absolutely. Because those are the ones that do there for. We didn't get any strand again. That's next week. Our girl hasn't shown up yet. I mean, that was, I mean, it's just, what are we doing? Yeah, I don't know.

We haven't, we haven't seen Alicia. We haven't seen, what's her name? Which one? The bomb. Oh, Grayson. No, no, no, no, no. Oh, Madison? In Madison.

Madison. Yeah. Okay, I put her name out of my name. Understood. Like I said, she's mid-season finale. That is my guess. That is still my guess. And I will, and I will say that I did,

love the Daniel, we're just going to kill the guy. That's what I want. I wasn't expecting, okay, okay, there was him slicing the throat off the guy, which was a pretty cool scene, and you cheered when that happened. Yeah, it's about time. Kill him. Pussy footing around. Though I was not expecting them to kill Arno. Yeah. I mean, he could have been a, he could have been, they tried to make him a character that we would like, and he kind of was. See, that was a good move. You know, like actual people that, yeah, like normally they wouldn't even have the balls. I wouldn't think to do that.

Right. Right. He was kind of a good character. And in the past, those characters have survived because he was kind of a good character. And they wanted us to, they wanted us to like him. Yeah, the scene where they pulled him back up out of the, you know, when he was in the cage. And you see his legs all gnawed off. Awesome. That was great. That was great. I know. It was awesome.

So we have confirmation now, by the way. So the pit is the. the crater and someone is letting them letting some nuke walkers out of there. Right. Right. We know that, but we just don't know who. Yeah. I mean, kind of assuming it's strand because of the, because that, they mentioned that. What was that in last episode or? Yeah. I feel like it. Something along those lines. Yeah, that people were coming back from

someplace. Yeah. That's what I think. Because you can't really go near them and you can't touch them. You can't kill them yourself. And he had to come back. alone because he was missing his other his other troop that was with him so i mean i'm sure that's that was it right they're they've just killed themselves setting them free right and that makes sense i mean that's kind of a cool weapon you know just like let unleash them and let them go out and kill all the all their enemies instead funny enough these walkers are way more dangerous than alpha's hoarder the only reason alpha's hoarder is so dangerous because how huge it was if she even had a little coordinated.

Yes. But if she had these walkers, oh, she'd be unstoppable. Yeah, but she couldn't go near them, though. Fair point. That's all I'm saying that. While she was coordinating all the other walkers and driving them, you know, while the horde was here,

her huge, she was driving them, right? She was making them go where she wanted to. Yes. And you couldn't do that with the, you couldn't really do that with the nuke walkers. I mean, you just set them free and go, Hope they go over there. Their point.

No, don't turn around. I mean, that's, it's kind of misdirected hope with those because they will, you're going to end up causing harm to yourself. As Strand is finding out, and maybe that's why he stopped, right? Maybe that's why he went and let some out and then stopped and realized, you know, maybe a fuse enough. Yeah. Yeah. We'll see. It was interesting to see that that that group had adopted Strand's tactics.

of just making this like moat of walkers. Yeah. It's smart. Yeah, I love it. As long as they don't get in. That's smart. Right.

Yeah, I mean, and that's the thing, right? What's his name? Omar? Arno. Arno. Yeah. Arno.

Omar. Arno, whatever. He's dead now. Nobody cares. Any, any, but the, you know, that's the thing.

He was a pretty good leader, you know, pretty good side leader. So it was nice to see, as somebody, you know, get killed. Yeah. As they would in real life. It was pretty

interesting too, because what Luciana said, when they're like, when Wes was like, you sure we could like help these people? Alicia couldn't convince them and then Luciana confirmed and no, she couldn't convince Arno. Right. Right. Plus, sad thing. Arna was probably the leader of the nude

walkers. Oh yeah, he is the leader of the stockers. That might be, that might be over with now. Very disappointing. Right. Right. Now, Morgan's in charge of the stalkers. Morgan and Luciana, now Morgan is affiliated them in their group. Well, for now, I don't know that Morgan was real crazy about it. Luciano brought him in and he, I feel like Morgan was like, I don't know what we're doing here.

Yeah. I mean, he wants to welcome people in and be Mr. Yeah, come on in. But I feel like that was a little overwhelming. You know, he couldn't say no at the time. but I feel like he was thinking Luciana, maybe no. Maybe you know. So do we have an issue

with what Luciana's doing to Daniel? I don't think I do. I don't think I do. I mean, it's morally wrong, but I can understand it. I mean, it's the bet I mean, not only is it like their only play,

but like also as like viewers that like Daniel, it's the only way we get some kind of Daniel that we actually like. Right. Right. That's why I'm okay with it. Yeah. I know they tried to make me feel bad, especially even at the end when Daniel, when even Daniel said, you know, when he had some moment of clarity when he was like, if it's not true, it could be the end of me or whatever.

Yeah, well, maybe not. Maybe not. Well, when we get the tower, we'll tell you that Ophelia is over there in the nuke pit. You can go over there and find her. Yeah. And I'd rather have at least a little bit of a season of the old Daniel, even if eventually it does break him. and he's not a character anymore. I don't know.

I just at least prefer to have at least somewhat of a season where he's the guy we like. Yes. What's interesting to do is Wes left because of what Luciana did. Yeah. Yeah, he didn't like it at all. And he left and it was a, that's what I meant with a pretty good twist, right? When she said, where are you going to go? And he said, I don't know.

But he's, then he goes, the thing is, all right, let's talk about that for a second. All right. So he says, you know, he finds out people suck. Well, that's not a revelation. I got news for you. Look around, pal. People suck. I know you're not able to, you know, paint the trees like you wanted to, but it's the way it goes. That was him, right?

Was it west or his brother that was the painter? His brother was the painter. His brother was the painter. But they both were. They both like painting, but his brother was a big painter. The artist, yeah. Anyway, I got people, people suck. But then he goes to.

So Strand, what? Strand sucks less. He's the lesser of our people? I don't think so. Yeah. Yeah, that totally doesn't make sense unless he's got something else in mind. Like he's trying to do something. Like, that's the only thing that makes sense. Like he's trying to get in to try and, I don't know, be like a sleeper agent so that he can stop all the chaos before it begins.

I don't know. Which is what's his face, right? Dory Sr. wants to do. Yeah. Dory Sr. wants to get inside. So, I mean, maybe Strand buys it. I mean, that's what, what's her face was trying to do, too? Our girl, right?

So that's what she was trying to do last week is to do the insider double-cross thing. I mean, how many more of those are we going to have? You guys might want to kind of mix up some tactics a little bit. Yes, something. It's really interesting, too, that Morgan said, like, when they were like, we tried to take the tower before. It didn't work. Yeah, we didn't have Daniel. Daniel knows that Strand thinks.

Well, Daniel is also the guy that will kill people. True. That's the thing. But that's another thing too. Daniel knows how Strand thinks. And he knows how to organize an army and attack instead of, oh, no, let's wait. No. We killed now.

Yeah, that scene where they all showed up and they had the guns. That's like something we're not used to, especially in this season of like an actual, oh, this is happening. Something actually happened. Right. Like, it was just, it struck me as I actually felt kind of satisfied at the end of the episode, which does not happen. I did do. So weird. It was a pretty satisfying ending.

It was. Now, as we talk about that, then next week we have the whole week of Baby Mo going missing inside the tower. And senior is trying to, you know, make himself worthy of Strand. So that could be okay. We're getting Strand. which I'm happy about. We're getting Strand and we're getting senior and hopefully we have, hopefully this,

we have West trying to weasel his way in. Right. So we have that. Okay. And Alicia is just walking the land like Kane from Kung Fu? I guess. I guess. I don't know.

I mean, it's great to have her as a star of the show. You know, we don't see her. I guess she's out looking for, Yeah, the lost star. Lost star. I don't know.

I mean, she's nowhere, right? And we, and we, I mean, there's plenty of episodes that have, that needed some of the stars that they're trying to tell us are the big stars of the show. And they're nowhere to be found. Like Daniel and Luciana, they accomplished everything. And Dwight, I guess, with the weapons, accomplished everything that she was supposed to be doing in the beginning. Yeah. Right. So now, like, that, that's done.

done. She's going to come back and take credit for it. Why do we care? Maybe that's why you couldn't convince anybody because you didn't freaking do anything. I don't know. I know. Okay. So overall, we got to get some other news too.

Overall, this was a better episode than last week's. Which isn't saying a lot. I will say this episode was better, no question. And it wasn't that bad of an episode. You know, I love Daniel's character, and I'm unhappy with how they're getting him to be the Daniel that I love. But, okay, fine. That's how you got to do it. That's how you got to do it.

Okay. Ophelia's alive. Go kill people. I got it. But that last week's episode, holy cow. I mean, there's plenty of episodes better than that one that were not good episodes. That may be the Bible. bottom of the barrel right now. Last week's

episode. Oh, yeah, but don't write them off. I'm sure they can run up that if they wanted to. There's still episodes to come. All right, so after we left last week and our prediction was that... Oh yeah, we need to talk about

this. Carol was not going to be a part of... That wasn't on air. Okay. So... But after we left last week... We had talked about rumors. that Melissa McBride was going to be leaving the Daryl and Carroll show which it is official now

she is no longer part of the Daryl Carroll show All right bye-bye have a nice day now they they she claims that are the you know the news reports claim that she didn't want for some reason they're filming the show in Europe and she did not want to go to Europe to film huh she was like she couldn't go or whatever

she could yeah she couldn't go okay. I mean, I'm not quite sure why that's an issue. Filming in Europe. Yeah, I know. Were they going to set it in Europe? I don't know. If they're sitting in Europe, that's a big deal. I don't think so, though. That would have been cool, actually, because of the ending of...

Is the ending a world beyond? Yeah, ending a world beyond. Dang. Okay. That's disappointing, actually. That's possible if they were going to set it in Europe. that, you know, that does bring new light to it. I was thinking more along the line that Daryl was filming other stuff over there. Redis was filming other stuff over there, and that's where they needed to shoot it.

But you're right, they very well could have had it be set in Europe because of World Beyond. Huh. So I don't know this. They're still doing the show apparently. I don't know the show has been canceled, but I guess it's just going to be Daryl and Dogg. I mean, I don't know. I don't know what it's going to be. Well, what's it really?

Like, yeah, we have to talk about this a little bit of, specifically a Jeffrey Dean Morgan going off on, like, Twitter or whatever. Well, the fans are pissed. I mean, the inside fans were pissed at Carol for not. They were pissed at Carol for not going, filming it, and they were pissed saying that Norman Redis was being some kind of power monger thing that had Carol questioned doing the show. And, you know, why Carol isn't doing the show and she doesn't want to be a part of it.

And, of course, you know, Negan is like a shut up. That's not the reason. She gets to do what she wants. And, you know, just shut up. It's okay. Leave her alone. Back off her. Of course, he can say that.

He's already signed a deal for his new show. Yeah. And so, hey, leave her alone. She gets to say no if she wants to. Well, I don't know what the, you know, why. Why she, like, yeah, I don't know what the deal is. I don't know. Maybe she did just, it's like, hey, I have other stuff.

I can't go to Europe right now. That could honestly be the reason. Yeah, but you what, you film for what? Two, three months tops, right? For a season. So you're telling me that Melissa McBride could say, look, I'll come to you. Europe for a month. Have my scenes ready to go.

Come to Europe for a month. I'll shoot my scenes and I'm out. They'd do that for her in a heartbeat. Heartbeat. And the rest of the scenes could be shot without her. It's just really weird.

Maybe she just had enough. Maybe she's 10, 11 years. Maybe she read the script and was like, dude, this sucks. That's possible too. Like, there are many options, honestly. I think I like that the best. I mean, I'm interested in a show if it's actually set in Europe.

And they're like exploring. This was like the first, this is the first news we've got of this show since it was announced. I'm interested in the show where they're like, if it's, if it's involving that and the world beyond, how the world beyond ended, that's interesting to me. You know, I'm interested in Jeffrey D. Morgan and Maggie going to New York. That sounds interesting. Absolutely. These are like the first spinoffs that I've actually been interested in if that's the case. I was not interested

in the water, just wandering around Georgia. I was not interested in that. And they just announced another character that's going to be added to the Isle of the Dead too. I don't. This Gaseous Charles,

the actor, and he's been in some of the some of the TV shows, and you know him from different TV shows. I'm not sure if he's been in any of the Marvel No, he doesn't He doesn't look like he's been in Marvel. But anyway, they just announced that he's going to be another side star character

with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Maggie and Isle of the Dead. So there, I mean, that show is on its way. On its way. What's his name? Gaius Charles. G-I-A-U-S- Charles. He does not look familiar to me, but. Really?

Yeah, no, I've seen it before. I've seen him in some of the TV shows He's been in NCIS Oh, that's why you know him. You love NCIS. I've got a sudden episode or two. You've been watching the show since it began airing. Oh yeah, he's already showing up on IMDB for it. His name is Isaac in the show.

Yeah. But so we... Anyway, but I mean, that shows... Isle of the Dead is on its way. And now we have our first news of the Daryl Carroll Show, which is now just right now the Daryl Show, which is... Which will be filming in Europe, which, who knows?

maybe at the end we'll get at the end of the series we'll get some CRM stuff and he goes to Europe and that's the end of dead and then he picks up where he is in Europe there I don't know yeah I don't know how he gets there yeah I mean I don't know how he gets there unless he you know gets on a boat looking for uh what's her face and ends up in France France this takes the shore of France oh here I am oh okay didn't take that left at Albuquerque man Right. And we do need to watch and review Dead in the Water, which is up on AMC Plus. I need to make that happen.

We need to somehow make that happen. Have you watched any of it at all? Forgot about that. I know. I know. And I need to make that happen. I'm going to have to use my free subscription to AMC Plus to watch Dead on the water so that we can talk about it here. We could do that.

Because since every week we're here, we could do that, like, at the midseason finale, maybe, like right after? I don't know. Just do an episode of Dead in the Water? Yeah. Yeah, we can do that. Let's plan on that. We'll find some time to do that. All right.
