Mid-season finale and show finale, all wrapped up with one end-of-the-year bow.
Season 7, episode 8, titled Padre of Fear of the Walking Dead, mid-season finale,
and season 2, episode 10, series finale titled The Last Night of World Beyond.
It was a busy night, and this will be a busy show, plus breaking.
news.
Incredible breaking news here on Talking Walking Dead.
Welcome to it.
Talking Walking Dead with myself, Jeff Fisher, Jason Buttrill and Maximus Fisher.
Fear IMDB description, Alicia and Liz Morgan's help to search for a new home for her people.
But Morgan soon learns the search is more complicated than he imagined.
So we can get to the show.
No problem.
We can get to the show
and absolutely really
to talk to the show.
It wasn't bad.
It was okay.
I like the flashbacks
going back,
back and forth with Alicia.
Yeah,
some questionable things
throughout the episode.
We'll just talk about the episode
for a moment
before we get to the breaking news
that is unbelievable.
Mr. Buccio,
the episode?
Yeah, it's pretty good.
I guess I enjoyed it.
It was kind of stupid, you know, with the whole, let's follow the walker around.
Maybe he'll lead us home, you know, thing.
Yeah, I don't know.
Like, that was questionable.
I kind of felt slighted personally in this episode because at one point, and I kind of assumed it was Padre Island.
And at one point, Alicia goes, oh, we're a Padre Island?
And he goes, no, because that would be so obvious.
And I was like, F you, bro.
F you.
I know.
That's what you want to play?
I know. I'm with you on that.
I'm with you on that.
Oh,
of course not.
That's too obvious.
Right.
It was a Waco.
That's what we were talking about.
Yeah.
Just to fool everybody.
You know damn well.
It was Padre Island until I said that on this podcast.
You know it.
And they were like, oh, crap.
Let's change it.
Everybody in Texas knows where that is.
Yeah.
We see what you're doing.
Jason, you did get your Alicia episode you'd been wanting.
Yeah, it is good. Yeah, I like her better on the show than off of it for sure.
I thought the arm thing, the amputation was pretty cool, too.
She takes the pipe and just goes sink.
Yeah, I didn't see that coming that she, I thought when she got bit, they were writing her off the show.
That's what I thought.
Right, I did too. Paycheck is too high. She's got to go.
That's why she hasn't been on at all.
I know.
Yep.
It was unbelievable.
So it was amazing that, you know, and then when she, obviously, when she was in the tunnel with the Walmart lantern, that those things are badass, man.
Those things have her burn out.
You want to get the Walmart lanterns, man.
It is true.
We've had one for like five years and it still works.
There you go.
There you go.
Facts are facts.
But it was interesting to see.
That takes some serious balls to chop.
chop your arm off like that.
I will say that the video
of her chopping her arm off
was lower than where her arm
was actually chopped off, but
you know, who's, I don't want to bogg her
doing that with bags. I noticed that too,
actually, when she jammed it, it was like
it was on the other side of the bite.
I was like, right above the bite.
What? Yeah, it was pretty low.
And, you know, her arm ends up
seeping there back at the
back in the garage way up high.
But anyway, whatever. That happens to me. I'm not
taking chances. I'm like wapping off that entire
side of my body. I got news
seriously? Because I was thinking
about that. I'm not sure that I could
do that. I think I'm figuring like
I, you know what? Yeah, I'm done.
It's over. You know what?
We had more Will this episode.
We actually got Will again. And that's why
she was pissed at Will, right? Because he didn't kill her.
Right? He was supposed to.
So, you know,
I mean, he saved her life. She should
be, you know, definitely happy about
that. And then the whole thing,
want this you want war with with uh strand all right fine okay i got it's kidding a big oh sorry jason you go no go ahead
i was just going to say i could be good yeah the war the battle could be good except for the breaking
news that we'll talk about in a moment because that's what's going to be part of the war right it was a
it was a cool thing that they actually referenced uh morgan's son that what he was like i thought that
that the walkers had some semblance of who they were and my son died because of that well right and remember i i
brought back memories for me when morgan first was introduced with rick when the his wife remember used to
come to the door yeah and so that's what made him believe that is that the walkers had some you know
some at what alicia said some echo of memory like you know the last thing in their mind that's
where they were headed. So he was going to take her to Padre, which wasn't Padre Island.
Okay, gotcha. And I get her need to feel that way, because I'm sure she's like, because she thinks
she's changing. She thinks she's going to be a walker soon. So she's hoping that some of herself
will still be in her when she changes. Right. I get it. I was cool when she lifted up her arm
and you actually see like she still has her bone attached to like this metal thing. Yeah. Yeah,
that was dope. I mean, yeah, that was dope. That was cool. I mean, it took away a little
bit of the hotness.
A little bit. Just a little bit.
I mean, we weren't staring
at her arms anyway.
You know, for, you mean, it's like, oh, look at those arms.
At some point, it's like,
no, don't use that one.
Not that one.
Yeah, we had, we had Strand in this episode,
you know, talking to Alicia and it looked like
by the end, Alicia was going to be really good
with them, and they were like, okay, fine, you could
let my people in. And then she saw the body
of will. Which, which, you
knew it was going to happen.
We all knew that was going to happen.
Absolutely knew he was going to happen.
And we didn't see her,
although we probably will see it,
her habit in a later episode.
She didn't take the necklace.
At that time,
she left the necklace on them,
which I was surprised.
I thought that she would take it back.
Yeah.
At this point,
I'm curious what they're setting up.
I'm curious if she just
think she's still infected,
but it's something
else. So there's no way they're getting rid of her.
There's no way.
Right. So either she thinks
she's still infected with the Walker crap.
Which she does. Or it's
something else. Or it's something else.
Could it be a
variant of some kind?
Yes.
Tees, tease, tudge, nudge.
One thing too, that's
actually caught my eye too
during the episode was
Arnold, the one guy who was leading that other group of stalkers that left Alicia,
he was part of Teddy's group and in the bunker.
And he was like, she is here to lead us and whatever.
And then he broke off from her apparently sometime in the future.
Oh, that was him?
Yeah.
Oh, I never caught that.
So, yeah, that is interesting.
And we'll see how the battle goes.
I found it, you know, like again, they were in the tunnel.
alive following you know crawling through the walker that's where alicia cuts her arm off um they jump over
you know this ledge and you know it's impossible for the guys that are armed to shoot bullets over
that ledged at the people in the water they've got a ride around at that time strand does not want
to hurt alicia okay all right they did want to hurt morgan didn't he yes he did yeah i'm just i'm just
bugging you down those facts i know
I know, and it seems, you know, I don't know that I, I don't know that I like the twist of Morgan.
You know, after last week with him and his attempted murder campaign, I don't know that I like that.
That takes away from me from Morgan.
I don't know.
I got a little issue with that.
Apparently, I hadn't done it yet, but apparently on the show that comes on after,
Lenny James actually said if you rewatch the episode, you could actually see Morgan in the background behind.
strand actually do it yeah he put it he put in all the little easter eggs while he was
filming it he and he wanted to do that so that you know you wouldn't necessarily catch it
when at first watch but after you find out he was the one you could go back and watch and
see the little steps where he was going to do it i never really saw the walking dead as a
show like that that they purposely included tons of easter eggs but like like i was
reading an interview by gimpel and he was
was talking about world beyond and he was talking about all the easter eggs that they built into
some of the scenes and i was like holy crap like i i wish i'd have been looking earlier
didn't see that coming at all right we have a little beyond easter egg later too yes we do i mean
the world world beyond finished last night right and so but the uh the biggest fear news oh here we go
here we go i know what it's going to be which is unbelievable so last week we told you
that Hardwick for the show that follows
Dead
talked about Lenny James and Jadis
coming on and the two producers
the one producer from World Beyond
and the one producer from Fear
and their special guest
from the Walking Dead universe
that was going to blow our mind.
Can we say something?
We got what we wanted in a sense.
We got the main character
of a show returning.
just not the main character we wanted.
From fear?
Yeah. Oh, you didn't, you haven't seen yet?
No, I know who's coming, but I thought what, but you said the main character we wanted.
What, which character?
No, we got it, we got a main character coming back.
Oh, but not the main character we wanted.
Yeah, because, uh, we know now that Madison returns.
And, uh, unbelievable.
I, I will just.
give you a little behind the scenes
viewing texting
Max is on the road
I've got him out searching for locations
to do this show live from
and he's on the road right now
so he's actually you know broadcasting from
inside a vehicle somewhere
between Dallas
Fort Worth and South Carolina
so but at the same
to almost identically
while this show was broadcasting
live last night I sent it
text to him with no
and I got almost
the exact same time I got a text
from him with no
I said oh no I said oh no
that was unbelievable
man it was just amazing I was
dying because as soon as I saw her pop on screen
I knew what was going on
because I've said this
before we are in the minority
that did not want Madison back
because the big chunk of the fear fan base
wanted her to return.
I saw an article where I was reading this earlier today, where it said, uh, the, her character,
the Madison character is in the dead universe.
They called it the dead Rushmore.
Like, like, her face would be on Mount Rushmore.
I was like, in what freaking world?
Are you kidding me?
Not on my own job.
I know, I know, but she is one of the most popular ones in the fear fandom.
She is, she is up there, man.
I know we don't agree with that.
None of us three do.
But in the world of the fandom,
she is up there.
I'm not joking.
I'm calling bull crap.
That's got to be like Russian troll farms.
Like the fake accounts propping her up.
Yes.
I don't get it at all.
Oh my gosh.
She has definitely paid off the social media fans for that.
Right.
The Mount Rush War?
I mean, nobody on fear would make it besides Morgan,
who that doesn't even count because he,
from the original show
from the starship.
Right.
No, I disagree, Dory.
On the Mount Rushmore.
On the Mount Rushmore?
Okay, I guess fair point.
None of them belong on there except for Morgan.
On the Mount Rushmore.
I mean, maybe,
maybe,
Alicia, maybe.
What? No.
I'm just trying to get someone from fear.
I'm just telling you guys,
Like, I truly believe that we are in the deep minority when it goes dating Madison.
You know, from fear that would be on Rushmore now would be Strand, right?
Actually, yeah.
No, I'm with you.
I'm just, I'm with you, Jason.
I don't, honestly, I don't think that any of them are reserved to be on.
If we had to add someone from fear that is a fear original, if we had to, Strand.
Yeah.
For sure.
I would boycott the vote.
If it's coming to like submit your Hall of Fame votes and I'm one of the
ballades I'm like I'm not voting if I have to and I'm not voting
We've got with so Rick is obviously the big batty in the in the middle and you've got Morgan
He's straight from season one. He's on there great character. Yeah
Yeah
Megan would have to be on there
Daryl
Daryl's on there
Governor
Probably have to put no not the governor. He probably have to put Carol
Carol's on there.
Crap.
I mean,
shoot.
I mean,
I'm struggling now
because I almost want
every major character
on there,
but I mean,
I know,
right?
I was just about
to put Maggie,
but I don't think
I'm going to put Maggie on there.
I don't want Maggie.
I don't want Michelle.
Maybe you put the kid on.
Oh,
Judith?
Yeah.
Oh,
no,
Carl.
Carl might make it too.
Carl,
corals on there,
for sure.
And he'd be an easy one
because you'd only have to,
you know,
make one eye.
Anyway,
Anyway, the, but yeah, so I just found it.
I just started dying, laughing when I saw Madison returned, because I was like, oh, my, I was like, oh, my gosh, the one thing that we didn't want to happen.
And you do that.
I mean, you know, that's what they wanted all along was why we never saw her death, right?
Yeah.
The death.
Right.
The death of the fire at the baseball stadium.
I know.
It just.
Still never saw the death of her husband either.
been saying it since that's a good
point season that's the helicopter
scene right yep we never saw the death
of him they're gonna come full circle that's
and that's just what his character was getting good
too so that might not be a bad matchup
yeah might not be
I'd be more on board with him coming back
me too I want him to come back
and be pissed that she never looked for him
and kill her right
I don't you know I don't get it
because like they're trying to turn Alicia into
Madison so is
Madison just coming back for a limited time
just to help nurture
Alicia into the leadership role or something?
Or are they going to kill off
Alicia
right as Madison starts coming back
because of her infection?
And then Madison is Madison.
That'd be dumb.
That might happen though because
if you break it down financially,
that might happen.
You think Alicia's more expensive than Madison?
No, but having both.
Yeah.
It's a couple of big checks.
Well, one of them's got to go.
I don't know.
I know.
And I mean, if I had to vote, if I were to vote, we were sitting down, all right, we've already, you vote.
Your vote on Mount Rushmore is already over.
You haven't voted.
The one of stents you vote, Jason, go ahead.
You're done.
So now we're voting for who lives or dies between Madison and Alicia.
I mean.
It's obvious.
It is obvious.
It is.
And that's why they'll go the other way.
I know.
It's just sad.
There's going to be a lot of disappointed Russian troll farms if Madison is the one that does.
They're going to be so fit.
Do you truly believe their fakes or are you just making this up?
Because I genuinely believe we are in the minority of the family.
It's hard to believe.
It is hard to believe that she is this belief.
loved character that needs to come back.
I'll give you that, yeah, you know, she needs to come to the comic cons, and we love
her at Comic Con, and what a great character she was.
You know what?
I'll pay to have her autograph my Walking Dead knife, but that's about it.
I can't think of one time when she was like, oh, she's so cool, or that was so great.
I can't think of one time.
I can't.
I can't either.
I really can't.
So she's going to be back and that she's going to be, you know,
integral in the war between, you know,
Strand and Morgan and Alicia because she loves Strand.
The war could be cool because there's going to be a lot of,
I mean, because a lot of our quote unquote people are in Strand's tower.
Yeah.
So, you know, you got June, you got the annoying trucker twins.
You got John Dory.
Not both of them.
Wendell is with Strand and
Oh yeah, what's her face?
Right, but the point is there's more of our people in the tower.
Right.
So are they going to side with Strand?
I highly doubt it.
It would be like a kind of like a,
they're going to try to undermine it from within maybe.
I don't know,
but I did read an interview with Gimple where he kind of addressed that.
And he said that,
he goes,
I think you will be surprised.
There will be some people that will still,
you know,
side with our group or with their group.
and some there would be some surprising defections.
That means number two guy.
I thought that too.
I thought that too.
I really think Howard he's going to.
Yeah.
I've always thought that.
He was going to try and become number one.
Me too.
And he'll make a deal so that he remains number one there and the war stops.
Yeah.
And Strand hangs from his toenails.
That's a good prediction for sure.
Yeah.
But there's no way they kill off Strand.
No, that's what I mean.
But he hangs by his toenails.
and then Morgan, having once tried to kill him,
cuts him down and tells him to get the hell out of here.
So he is able to return later.
He'll return later even more comic booky than he is now
or cartoony than he is now.
Like he'll have a big mustacheo
and he'll be tying somebody to the railroad tracks.
I guarantee, that's next.
It's amazing.
I love this strand.
I don't mind this strand either.
I don't.
Sometimes it doesn't seem like it's that bad.
You know, it's kind of funny.
If you're watching Saturday morning cartoons, then that's like right on cartoons.
I'm a fan of those, so I have no problem.
I'm a fan of that.
Okay, so then we move on to the last night.
The final episode of World Beyond.
And it really did happen the way we predicted, right?
They just, they didn't necessarily lose, but they lost.
And they moved on.
CRF, he knew they couldn't.
Right. And also,
I must say that I, I guess I just,
for whatever reason in my
head, every time they say Portland,
I think of, you know,
the West Coast Portland, but
really it's Portland, Maine,
right? So the farthest
west was the Nebraska home.
Oh, really?
I mean, they didn't, there's no way,
it had to be Portland, Maine, right? Because
there's no way that
Elyce or
Iris
bubbles along
waddles along all the way across the country
I guess that's true
I never thought about that
I just assumed
And yeah I assume Portland Oregon too
But if it is Portland Maine
Okay
Yeah it has to be that
I mean it has to be
There's no way
There's no way that they
Because they ended up being there
Right they showed them show up there
They showed them show up to a place
I don't know if that was specifically Portland.
Okay.
All right.
So it was a mall outside of Philadelphia.
I got it.
But it was, you know, was I really, I think in my head, I always thought Nebraska and then Portland out west.
But Nebraska was the farthest point.
And it was where they were at in New York and then Portland in Maine.
I think, I mean, okay.
I mean, I just, I find that it was almost impossible to think.
that they all thought it was going to be okay to go to Portland from their New York hub.
I mean, they've already crossed half the country coming back to New York.
They're going to have to re-traverse the entire country?
I don't think so, no.
I like how we're at the end already, but we should start at the beginning because we already are at the end now.
Wow.
I mean, you know, the Fantastic Four are back together.
We saw a flashback to the beginning of the series where they're about to leave Omaha on the campus.
I mean, who cares?
All we really care is the end credits.
I know.
I know.
No, no, no, no, no.
Because there's one thing in this that dad is happy about right here.
Silas, we have to talk about him.
We have to talk about Silas.
Silas is badass, of course.
And, you know, he's the guy that's on the inside.
now, right? He's the one. He's our guy on the inside. I love it.
So is, so, I mean, yeah, the way they
ended that makes you think that he's going to be a part of the movies in some
way or something. Because why set that up and not pay it off
later? You have to. It makes no sense.
Right, you have to. If the movies are to be made, uh,
you know, in the future, uh, you have to have him there, right?
And so it was fun to see, I mean,
hey we lost
a huck
we lost huck yeah
disappointing
she was looking good too on her death day
a really good death
she got a really good death
and she was looking good on death day too
I'm not talking about that
I'm talking she actually got a really good death
I was sad to see her go
it was good though to get some meaningful deaths
yes
yes
her and Dennis
like the two big deaths is episode her and dennis
I would have liked to see in a couple
more fall to the
wayside that didn't go.
Iris! Oh yeah, Iris definitely
needed to go. I mean,
I knew she wasn't going to. It was just a
way for me to make it through the show
by continuing to hope that she died
somehow.
She's just agonizing.
I can't. I can't.
It was really cool how Huck actually was able to set up
her watch to be the timer.
And she screwed it up, too.
She screwed it up. Jadis. She loses to Jadus,
and then Jada sees the tan line
and realizes I got to get out of there.
She could have, she had it.
Yeah, that, that fight
was pretty much
how I thought I was going to happen to.
Was, again, it was just another
reference, or another Rick reference.
It was still good. Right.
Right. We got the, we got the Rick reference
without the Rick in the fight.
Yeah. I like that.
What she said was like, what she said was, yeah, I trade someone.
And he, like, he was, he,
wasn't A, but I said he was a B to keep him out of your mom's lab. So apparently A's go to the lab,
but she said she owed him that much. So I guess that means Rick is considered an A. Like,
we guessed what it was. We didn't have no clue what it was, but now I guess we do.
She said, and she said she gave them the most powerful person or something along the lines.
She'd ever met. Right.
I was like, dang. Right.
She said she owed him that much. And she didn't say most powerful.
person she had ever met.
Yeah, she did.
She did.
She did so.
In the fight with Huck, yeah.
Yeah.
She definitely said he was definitely a big resource.
Did you watch the show?
Yeah, I did.
She even quoted Negan.
People are a resource.
That was good.
Yeah, he quoted Negan.
But she most definitely said, if it wasn't most powerful, it was something along those lines
of the most influential or most powerful person she had ever met.
Yeah, it was like the strongest person.
I'm going to have to go back and find the exact quote,
but it was definitely meaning that Rick was the guy.
Yeah, and that's what I mean.
I knew that.
And it was,
I stood up off my couch at that point.
I was like, yep, yep.
Okay, so let's see him.
Right.
Let him,
let him helicopter in and be your boss, something.
Right?
I would have felt out of the,
that would have completely like,
okay, then why is he here?
Why was he ordered here?
I would have liked an explanation.
Not me.
I was prepared to be perfect.
fine with a silhouette with no explanation whatsoever.
That's what I, that's successful show.
We did, we talked about it before.
That's all we needed.
Even at the time when she at the end, when she was throwing mom under the bus and taking over.
Oh yeah.
She throws mom under the bus and say, you know, sends her, sends her off to prison just to make her rot to be responsible for everything.
And even at that time, had you said, had you said, had.
had she turned and said, we all agree.
And that's when you see the silhouette walk back into the building.
Something.
How do you not pay that off to your family?
You don't even have to hire Andrew Lincoln if it's the silhouette thing.
You know what I mean?
And you could have just used old audio, you know, or something like that.
Anything.
You know, he didn't even need to speak.
Just we all agree.
And then he puts the hat on and walks back into the building.
Why would he have the hat?
Judith has the hat.
because he's a cowboy.
He would get another hat.
He would buy a new hat.
If you lose a baseball hat,
he just,
he hasn't had a hat since he gave it to Carl.
Stop off at the Sierra Mall.
What are you kidding me?
Anyway,
so Hope stays behind
with the scientists in that mall.
Oh,
Elton gets bitten.
We had both shows
had a big character,
losing arm.
Arms are flying all over the place.
I know.
But it's the Star Wars
And of course he doesn't die
Makes him strong
You know, okay
I mean somebody's good
I don't know about you
Somebody's got to die
That's all I care about
Yeah we got two deaths
To this episode
Yeah and not
And not the great
The great Felix fight
Which was that was a fun fight
That was a good fight
The Felix fight with Newton
You know
A little
A little Matrixy
A little John Wickie
You know
Is that a bad thing?
No, no, it was fun.
It was fun to watch.
I just, and all the, you know, the fighting docks, only won Leo, was the fighter.
The rest of them, I guess, were cowering under the brush somewhere as they were shooting up the CRM guys.
So it was- And then, of course, you know, and then we had the recap at the end where, you know, they're showing everybody's okay at one place.
And that's when Iris showed up at what I assumed was Portland, which made me think that it was Maine.
Yeah, with Asha and Elton and the rest of the, your village people.
No, Elton was not with her.
Yeah, he was.
Oh, yeah, the one, yeah, yeah, yeah, when they showed up at Maine, right.
And that, uh, and then Felix and Will were playing house all in love with the dog.
and Silas was in the military, right?
Taking under, it was an interesting scene where Jadus was like, I see you.
I know, you don't have to lie to me, I got you.
That's interesting.
I'm not sure where that goes from there.
Jadis has taken over, but she's, I mean, I'm a little,
I don't quite understand why she's okay with letting
Silas B.
Quite understand that.
Calculated risk.
Yeah, well, I think that she's a, I mean, she's a master manipulator.
So I think she sees his potential.
I think she probably thinks that, yeah, she can just manage it.
But she'll always have that, the truth to hold over him if he ever steps out of line.
So she thinks she's going to, she thinks he's going to be a big deal.
But if he ever kind of gets too big for his shoes, she's like, remember, I know what you were doing.
You were part of this little insurrection.
straight out right so i guess the only character that is above jadis now is beale the general
yeah i mean that makes sense yeah and so we'll see i mean it's just anyway but this it's over right
we're done have a nice day uh you guys did great thanks for being part of the universe take care so
somehow they're they're going to have to be woven back into the universe on some new show that
they will for sure
develop and create because
they're not going to do the movies. Anyway,
and then we get to the end credit scene, of course.
This is the one we cared about.
How many time did you guys watch that?
I watched it.
About five.
I did it. So I got a,
let's call an advanced copy of
this. And I
Oh yeah, Mr. AMC plus. I watched
it a million different times.
And there was one, I would watch it first,
with subtitles on just the two main characters we'll get to in a second, just to really read through
what they said. Then I did it with the subtitles on the other voice talking on the recording to make
sure I understood. Exactly what he was saying. Yeah. And holy crap guys. Okay. So let's let's have it. So we're in
Spain, right? France. France. See I, we're in France. Okay. All right. So why did the guy say
come back to Spain when she talked about the doctors in Toledo.
I never heard.
Never saw Spain.
No, he did say Spain.
He was talking about.
And she said, and he asked where did they?
And she responded to Lito and he went to Spain and she went to know, Ohio.
Okay.
I got it.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
All right.
That's fine.
That's what you picked up out of the entire.
I only watched it once.
I didn't break it.
I'm sorry, you two didn't break it.
The Spaniards, I'm done.
Through this crap.
They were freaking Spaniards.
They were speaking French.
How do you turn this off?
I don't know.
If it ain't English, I'm not listening, okay?
So I'll let you two experts.
Lay it out for me, though.
So they were definitely in France.
You know, speaking perfect French.
That one.
It starts with that.
What you think is, I guess, is a doctor
in France and like an old dilapidated
building, which later you see
at the very end that it's
like their medical directorate. It's on
the door.
Biomedicine something.
Yeah. It's their main, basically
like the CDC in France.
And the
surprise character that we were told
from the original series
was who, Max?
Jenner from the first season.
Yeah, the CDC doctor.
That took me completely by surprise.
Yep, Dr. Jenner.
I was like, what?
So, I guess so the way he was talking.
She's downloading all these files and she decides to watch old.
Right.
Yeah, and then Gimple in an interview later,
he mentioned that that was one of the Easter eggs that he said they built into it.
They wanted to give you a sense of the actual time frame,
like how long, how far ahead or,
where exactly in the time
that's happening, the post
credit scene's happening, based off of how
dusty the drives were
and like some timestamps that I haven't
really looked into on the video.
Right. But kind of interesting if you want to rewind.
So what does it say on the
air duct? What does that mean?
So I looked up
the trans... Like there's some
like spray paint on the air duct
and it said
in friend, I can't
pronounce it in French, my apologies, but
In English, it's translated to the dead are born here.
The dead are born here.
Okay.
All right.
Yes.
So.
And when they were talking there, she said, so we could go back to stop this.
And then the guy went, stop this, you started this.
So fire started in France.
Yeah.
He said, you guys created this problem.
and you made it worse.
And you made it worse.
Right.
Yeah.
And he goes into detail about how there were multiple different teams, you know,
working on all this stuff.
And then so while he's,
while they're talking about that,
the Jenner on the recording tape,
he's all going off in the background talking about how,
you know,
we haven't seen the variance that you guys have been seeing over there.
Yada, yada, yada.
So I like actually paused it then and then looked back for a reverend,
of everything Jenner said in the first episode.
And he actually references France.
He, um, like Rick and I think Andrea asked him if they had any success.
And he goes, not us, but the French.
The French.
They've done a lot.
Yeah.
Complete callback to right there.
Yes.
I do, I do, you know, vaguely remember that because we talked about it Europe.
I remember talking about Europe and where it was starting.
So, and then when he kills her, he doesn't.
head shot her, does he? I mean, he doesn't shoot the doctor in the head, or maybe he did. I don't know
where he shot her, but she comes, she turns. Yeah, I will, I, I, I rewatch that a million different
times. It sure looks like he hit her in the head to me. I thought so too. And, and then I looked up a bunch of
other people to see what they thought about it. And everyone else is saying, at least AMC is giving us
the appearance that he was shot in the head. Maybe we find out later that she wasn't, but they're at
least trying to make us think that he got shot in the head.
But one, she turned really fast and then she was running.
Yeah, it was like a World War, World War Z Walker, man.
Exactly, yeah.
With strength, I mean, banging on the door and moving fast.
That's a variant we don't need to see.
Right.
And, I mean, to me, it seems clear what AMC is doing here.
For one, they're giving us hints on how all this stuff.
even though it was a gimple that said it was a space spore, which now it seems like he was just completely
trying to throw us. That was Kirkman who said that. Yeah. So they're either trying to throw us,
he was either trying to throw us off that trail or AMC is doing their own thing. Who knows?
Very possible. But yeah, I mean, it seems like they're going to, I mean, I think that they're seeing
competition in the industry. You got, what was that the, Zach Snyder's, what was that horrible
movie. First of all, Army of the Dead
was not an award. It was a good movie.
I loved Army of the
Dead, so you can back off, my friend.
There's that piece of trash, and then there's
World War Z like you talked about.
There was another, what was that other zombie
show that was on another network?
Oh, yeah.
Oh, crap. It was pretty good, too.
Started watching a little bit, but
yeah, it was fun. Anyway.
But anyway, but, so their walkers are
a lot more dangerous in their shows,
and I think it makes it a little bit more exciting.
I think they're pivoting to like
the newer generation of zombie film
watchers and the way to get there is to do that.
Yeah.
It's interesting that the U.S. hasn't gotten these variants.
Well, we've locked down travel.
Travels locked down now. That's true.
I mean, perhaps Michaud will bring it back with her
from her ship voyage.
Yeah.
So that's another interesting thing.
just, you know, if they're going to do more of an international, you know, type show, um,
that ship that Rick was apparently on, there was like, I remember there was Japanese lettering,
like all over the wall and stuff.
Right.
I mean, it's possible that the movies take place overseas and not in the CRM area.
It's possible.
Yeah.
That's very possible.
So, so we have, uh, fear returning in April, April 17th.
And we have Walking Dead, part two of the final season, coming back in February, February 20th on AMC regular and the week before on AMC Plus.
So we'll be back then. Any final thoughts, Mr. Butchrell?
Yeah. World Beyond was an abomination of a show.
the only reason to watch was for our cameo,
which didn't happen.
That is a very disappointing
point of that show, for sure.
But the end-credit scene
makes me excited for the future of the universe,
which I haven't been able to say for a long time,
which is kind of interesting.
So they did their job.
Nope, we lost them.
My final thoughts is...
Now, stop talking because...
My final thoughts.
