Season 4, episode 14, titled MM-54, and also directed by Lou Diamond Phillips.
Is Jeff Fisher joining me, as usual, Jason Butchrell and Maximus Fisher, and that makes this talking fear.
All right, all right, all right.
Wait, did you just say Richie Valens directed this?
No, yes, Lou.
What?
I didn't know that.
Dang, that's dope.
Yeah, he was pretty excited.
He was part of it.
He was on the couch on that other show that follows.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
I should have watched.
He was pretty good to see.
And he had tweeted being on the show and stuff a couple of times.
And I like him.
He's actually been in a couple of shows that I really like on Netflix and around for the last few years.
So he's still working.
He's strong.
I've always been a fan of his.
One of the things I liked about him when he was on that show that followed.
was the show.
He talked about,
he was always a fan, of course.
And he talked about how he,
you know, he was part,
he loved the guessing of what was going to happen
and who was going to die and who wasn't.
And then he got the scripts.
And he goes, I'm looking through all the scripts.
And he likes, what's your face,
that lead lady that died.
And he was good friends with hubby.
Oh, really?
And he goes, I'm looking through there going,
oh my God.
And how do I do with my grief?
They're gone.
I can't talk.
I can't tell anybody about it.
That's funny.
It was really funny.
Yeah.
All right.
So at first glance, at first glance, I will say that I felt like I should have enjoyed it.
Agree?
Then thinking about it.
The aftertaste?
Yeah.
The aftertaste is not that good.
It lingers bad.
It lingers bad.
Yeah.
No, watching this, I was like, I was like, wow, this is kind of enjoyable, actually.
Yeah.
Like they brought the herd, you know, aspect into it.
Which I was happy about.
The old school zombie like movie where they're like stuck in a building, you know,
and their birthday.
Yeah, that was good.
That was good.
That was good.
Like that might be all Lou Diamond Phillips right there.
You know what I mean?
It was in the explosions and stuff because he said he was happy.
I get to blow stuff up.
Yeah.
With the truck.
He liked that.
Yeah, that was good.
But there were stupid stuff.
Like, and I guess this was out of his control.
But like, okay, this Martha chick, her origin story.
We finally have who she, we finally have her name.
And we're all worse off after knowing more about her.
How are we all worse off after knowing about it that her husband died in the...
Because it's ludicrous.
She turned into a serial killer because people that help other people.
Like, this is the stupidest villain in this.
world they've ever had.
And it's amazing that.
I noticed a small little reference
a little bit.
What is that?
So she was sleeping
on her husband's grave that one night
if I remember correctly.
I think she was sleeping.
Maybe more than one night. I mean it was like five years
later, right? It's been five years.
Is that right? I don't know. I think so.
It's been a long time.
Dang.
But she didn't lose any weight.
But so
I'm not the one
to talk about weight issues, but I'm just saying
She doesn't wait over that time.
It's kind of funny how that happened.
So if I remember Craig, she was sleeping on her husband's grave that she dug, that kind of reminded me of when Rick slept on Andrea's grave in the comic when she died.
Yeah, I mean, and, you know, look, there's so much.
Which we don't know if Michelle is going to sleep on Rick's grave later.
We know.
We also know that they're just following walking dead stuff, right?
Hospital, this one in Austin instead of Atlanta.
Yeah.
It was, you know, the breaking up of the tribe is, you know, we got two more episodes left.
It really feels like, as far as plot points are concerned, that they are truly out of ideas.
I mean, that's what it feels like.
I mean, they've still got, like, you know, the, you know, the setting is what is so cool,
is what's cool for this show, and that's it.
You know, like, really, the setting is the only thing that's cool.
The zombie apocalypse is the only thing that's cool about this show right now.
Well, that and Morgan is really.
I guess John too, but we've only seen him like one episode this second half of season.
Oh, we got to see his hat last right?
Yeah, we got to see his hat.
Which is, yeah, they are so underutilizing these new characters.
It's so ridiculous.
I'm going to say something about the end, about the hat.
There's something about the hat I need to say about the end.
Well, what is it?
The trailer for the net, promo for the next episode.
We see Charlie wearing his hat.
I hope she gets eaten by the alligator.
No, we see Charlie wearing.
wearing his hat through most of the trailer when we see her.
And that immediately reminded me a Carl because then she looked under the car.
And then we didn't we say this last week?
They were going to try to turn her into Carl.
Yes, we did.
Good God, Fear.
Come on.
Now she's wearing a hat.
I'm glad I didn't see that promo.
I'm glad I did not see that.
That's exactly what it was said.
And, you know, speaking of what we said on this podcast being, you know, ahead of the game,
I did read an article this past week where,
Gimple and the rest were talking about
we've got plans for another 10 years
20 years of...
That's what Max was telling me this morning.
No. No way. I read that whole article
and I was like
that doesn't change
the show's merging.
That doesn't change the... In fact, that
bodes to the show's merging because
that's the only way that can survive for another 10
years. Yeah. And let's be honest.
The show started... We're missed...
We don't have Rick now. We don't
have any of the grimes. They're all gone.
after a few episodes of Walking Dead.
Well, we still have, no, we still have Judith Grine.
Oh, yeah, Judith.
We have the cure.
We have the cure.
The cure.
The cure.
The cure.
That's my, I believe that to be.
I still believe that to be true.
Don't forget about my predictions.
I'm trying to throw my predictions out the window.
And so this show started out with the Dingleberry families, family, whatever their name is.
And we're back, we're down to one, right?
We're down to just one.
Yeah.
The daughter.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The original family.
I just, you know, I don't know, I'm just frustrating.
And then we end up on the hospital.
We're following Morgan.
We, I'm a little frustrated.
I'll tell you what I'm a little frustrated with.
And you're going to, the people are going to be mad at me.
And I'm sorry, but this is just real life.
Okay.
I got it.
It's a TV show.
I love the character.
We did finally see how he got out of the semi.
Yeah, we finally got to see how Wendell got out of the semi.
He had the pulley chain system, which was great.
And he had the, and he had his wheelchair hook to the side of the,
the truck, it just got destroyed.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay, so that's great.
And the reason we picked the hospital
is because now he's got an endless supply of
wheelchairs.
But he didn't have the endless supply of the wheelchair,
so I would have loved
to be able to watch them get into the hospital.
True.
But that didn't happen.
That just switched to the next scene.
We're inside.
And they barricaded the doors.
Oh, okay.
We just pulled his big ass into that hospital
without any kind of trouble.
I imagine they're pulling you in there.
That's what I'm saying.
I know that.
They would have had to show that.
You know.
Right.
And you know for a fact.
Come on.
You know for a fact.
If I'm in a wheelchair and we're in the zombie walker apocalypse, you are just going to say,
nice knowing you.
Jeffrey, I love you.
All right, but bye.
And in fact, we're going to use you to bring the herd over this way.
And we're going this way.
Okay.
You know that.
that's happening.
You know it is.
We would like duct tape like a jam box playing like Twisted Sister.
By the time.
On you and make you run off in that direction.
I mean, you just look.
They're up.
They drag him up on the roof.
What they need to do is just throw him off and then leave through that doorway.
So because the walkers are busy with him.
And that's what needs to happen to Beer Boy.
Oh, yeah.
Jim, he got bit.
Thank God.
Die soon.
I'm sick of him.
Because when he was fighting that Walker, it was a good scene.
I can't.
that that scene where he was fighting against the Walker was a good scene. And when he finally
killed it, right before he killed it, I was just like, it looked like he got bit. I was just
saying it looked like it. And then at the end of the episode, I was like, yeah, he got bit.
But why even introduce the character at all? Right. Because he's just a whiner, right? A beer
whiner. Nothing to do with him now is ever remembered. So it makes no sense to hide. So this
guy's actually, I've seen him in other stuff before. It makes no sense to have him coming for a
couple of episodes and kill him off that fast.
Makes no sense.
Unless, I don't know.
Unless he doesn't fit the budget.
He was supposed to be a bigger character in the original plans for the show.
But when they decided to merge it, maybe then this was added.
That's the problem with this.
Everything feels like it's been doctored or changed midway through the season.
Doesn't it?
To fit the narrative.
That doesn't fit at all.
Yeah, it does.
As a writer, you notice these things.
As a writer, you pick up on these little tidbits.
Well, but let's, okay, so now we have who's left.
We have, uh, uh, Morgan.
Well, I mean, we still have.
June.
Yes.
Let's see.
But the truck driver, right?
She's, I can't take her a little Mo Mo Mo thing.
Oh.
Morgan should just put the, put the spear right there.
This one has a little, this one has a little, this one has a little, uh, just go to her and
said, look, Sarah's a Marine, Sarah was in the Marines.
Yeah, so what?
Morgan should just go to her and say, look.
I've asked you not.
to call me that.
I'm going to ask you one more time, if you call me that again, I'm going to put the spear
in your skull.
He doesn't kill, though.
No, but he would kill over that.
He's killing over Momo.
Everyone would be okay with that.
Good gosh.
She was in the Marines, and Wendell went in to join the Marines, but that didn't happen.
As a cripple.
Again, this, I was like, what?
This is stupid.
He can't walk and he went in to apply for the Marines.
And he told his backstory of getting injured as a kid, right?
Yeah.
So the applying for the Marines, I don't know.
So it was like, so yeah, that was like a juxtaposition of,
so the villain, if you want to call her that, Martha,
she got pissed off because, like,
she doesn't like people that help people, you know, or whatever.
So she wants to go kill her.
Right, because they didn't help her.
Now he, he helped somebody and actually,
instead of turning dark, he went the other way.
Went the other way.
Right.
I mean, I got that.
It was just, a very kindergarten, like, plot point.
And plus we had the, uh, uh,
where all this time
she's been killing
Polar Bear's truck drivers
You know, after the first couple
truck drivers you think maybe Polar Bear
and say, you know, we're having a little problem
Maybe you should take two people
She's obviously some kind of magical being
Because she's everywhere at all times
Like, you know what I mean?
She just magically shows up wherever she has to.
Oh, we found out she was a English teacher.
Which is even more agonizing.
A teacher.
Farther, farther, further.
shut up.
Yeah, shut up.
To zombie apocalypse.
Oh God,
and grammar.
But see,
now that was
kind of interesting
like this,
this group of truckers.
I was interested in that.
Like,
these group of truckers
that are helping people.
Yes.
That's cool.
Led by Polar Bear
to help people.
Yeah.
That was kind of cool.
So you know that that must have been,
that was a developed plot point.
This guy had a name,
Polar Bear.
He was trying to help people.
With this,
with these, like,
they were all,
like that,
remember when Morgan first linked up with them?
that one place where they had the ham radio.
And we even see that.
This was a developed plot point.
Again, more evidence that they completely had to abandon what they wanted to do.
That's exactly right.
And we even see before the intro scene, we actually see when Martha picks up the radio,
we actually hear the beginning of what Morgan said in the truck stop.
What do you mean?
So when she killed that last person driving,
the truck, she went up to the radio.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
And then,
Laura, right, right, right.
Is that you?
And then Morgan's like, ah, yeah, yeah.
I might have hitched to ride in the back of a truck.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Right, right, right, right.
Yeah.
Did you notice that Polar Bear died in the same way Martha's husband died?
Yes.
Exactly the same.
So not exactly the same.
He, his legs were completely, like, jammed under the hood.
Well, I know it's not seen by seen the same.
His name was Hank, you unfeeling bastard.
Yeah, he somehow had a huge piece of timber come through the car.
No, that was that.
No, I think that was a rail from the highway.
A highway rail.
Okay.
That makes more sense, doesn't it?
It does make more sense than a piece of timber.
They were on the side of a highway.
You never know the crap that's flying through the air when you're driving down the road.
Truck flew by and kicked up a piece of timber.
I'll have to go.
I will go back and look.
I got to double check that.
I'll see how Hank actually died.
I was reading.
And she's got.
Hold that.
I got it.
And she picks up a piece of plastic to stab hubby.
She's got the rake.
Not the right.
What the hell are you doing?
That's what I was expecting to.
That's what I was expecting to.
I was expecting to use the rake too.
Yeah, I was reading a Forbes article.
that it was talking about how awesome the show was
when it was the Cowboys and Indians plot line,
which I was just like, they lost me right there.
But that was when they were,
I mean, that was the big, like, social justice, you know, season.
So I know why all the, you know, the people in New York and L.A.
were loving it at that point.
But then they were like, yeah, but it's so gone downhill.
But they talked about how the ratings were super high
when they did the crossover.
And then, like, the first couple of episodes after the crossover.
And now it's going down.
Now it's way down.
So they've lost a million viewers since the first two or three episodes.
A million viewers.
Right now, did you know that Fear was the number two show on AMC?
Wow.
What's number one, Saul?
No, Walking Dead.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Walking Dead.
Then it was Fear one and two, and then Saul was number three.
But now Saul has more viewers.
So Saul has knocked off Fear, which is crazy.
Wow.
But I didn't know Fear was actually doing that well.
That's kind of surprising.
I mean, that's pretty powerful.
Still, number three is pretty strong for them, but that's dropping from number two hurts.
I kind of expected we were the only ones watching this thing.
And all the reactors on YouTube.
You can't forget about that.
The commercials all said, hey, Jason and Jeff, and Max, pay attention to this.
Okay, we want you to see this.
But you forgot about all the reactors on YouTube.
Yeah, well, I mean, let them react all they want to do.
I don't care about them.
We're the reactors that matter.
But one of the things
Now, okay, so let's talk about that for just a second
All right, so they've lost all these viewers
Because the first couple episodes they brought in Morgan
Morgan and then they tried to A
They split everybody up
Dumb
Yeah
Right, they're all together
It's Morgan, they find each other, they got a crew
Well, I think they lost viewers after Madison died
That's one
No, not enough
So that's actually what the article was
Was hypothesizing
I'm with you, I do not believe that either
I don't believe that. I think it was the splitting up of the crew.
I read a video.
And then making Morgan be the quasi leader.
Nobody else can make a decision except for Morgan.
Now.
Nobody else can make a decision.
I mean, nobody else says, okay, let's do this.
No.
Morgan, what do we do?
We're so helpless.
We've survived all this time, but what do we need you now?
Shut up.
I know.
It's so forced.
I can't remember all of it, but I remember the name of the video was the day Feudor the Walking Dead died,
and it was talking about the episode where Madison died.
Yeah, and look, we've talked about that on another episode.
And that guy's clear a moron.
Oh, yeah, talking fear.
Our show.
That's moronic, in my opinion.
I think so, too.
But that also coincides when they just completely got away from, like the episode.
So the crossover was awesome.
Like, I love the crossover.
I did too.
All these new characters, how they shot everything.
That was a great episode.
It was so good.
And then we were like, yeah, this might actually be worth watching.
But what did they do?
They split everybody up.
And they don't even...
They splits everybody up.
And they don't show the characters that they brought in.
Well, the first half of the season, it was the before and then now.
And then we're in the now with them everyone splitting up.
Yeah, but the befores weren't.
The befores were them fighting each other, right?
And the befores were...
In the stadium.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
The vultures.
What...
I can't remember his nickname now.
That's darn it.
Metro Negan?
Yeah, Metro.
How do you...
What I don't guess is,
how do you have that awesome opening scene with John Dory?
That opening sequence where he's out there, you know, talking to himself, basically, and Morgan.
That was so great.
So right at that point.
you're thinking, okay, John Doer is going to be a big character in this show.
Right.
You need to get, he's obviously very talented actor.
You need to develop a lot to showing this, a lot of screen time to this guy.
And he got a lot of screen time in the first half of the season.
He did.
Not enough.
Did he?
I don't think so.
You got a whole episode to himself with June, but.
That's it, though.
That's it.
He had the opening scene, right?
Yeah.
And then, uh, and then, uh, the episode with June.
Right?
That's it.
And the rest of the time was bit pieces of, of, of, of,
him getting shot and he's been in recovery from getting shot.
And I'm not big on those like you have an entire episode dedicated to one or two characters.
Like Alicia and Charlie.
But it doesn't do anything as far as to me like I, I am a minority here, but I hate it.
Again, I hated the Morgan solo episode with that fru-frou peace loving guy.
Everyone loved that episode.
I hated that episode.
I was like, I did not care.
Anyway.
Everyone that listens to this, no, I did not like it.
One episode I want in season nine, I don't care.
Children?
Wait, what?
Why are you?
Why do you hate children?
Why'd you go to children?
Just because.
Okay.
One thing I don't hate children.
Why are you a misogynist racist pig?
That's typically the...
You stop beating your wife.
One thing I want to see in season nine.
I truly want to see this is a sole episode dedicated to.
De Negan. I really want to see that.
Okay, but that's a different show. We don't care about him right now.
But I agree. I agree with that.
His origin, his origin background show would be dope.
Yes, it would. Uh-huh.
And I kind of, I kind of, I want to agree with you, except I do kind of enjoy the backstory shows a little bit.
Really?
The episode ones.
However, according to the numbers, the people don't.
It just seems like it waste time.
Like, I want to see the group accomplishing stuff.
And again, that's my point with why their numbers are down now with fear, right?
Is because...
Everyone's split up.
Yeah.
I mean, we have...
Well, now we're in kind of two groups.
Alicia, Charlie Strand, and John.
And now...
Wendell, Sarah, Morgan, June, Jim.
I mean, that's what we talked about last week.
They're all trying to coalesce everyone together, thinking everyone, they're trying to make
everyone need each other when they do.
didn't think, like, so Strand is going to come to the realization that he needs John Dory.
And they both need Alicia after she helps them, I guess, get off this island.
And then all of them collectively need Morgan to be the leader.
And Morgan wants to go back to Alexandria.
Let's go to Alexandria.
So you can see what they're doing there.
So one thing we didn't even mention was Alicia and Charlie in the road,
collecting, trying to find oil for the car.
Yeah.
And then they run across the flooding rate.
many times I've walked around Texas and found people I know.
I know, right?
I just want people to know that Texas is one of the biggest states,
bigger than countries around the world.
They're making it as if Texas is road freaking island.
Like, you know what I mean?
Like, this is not Rhode Island.
You can't just go, hey, I'm going to go in that direction.
What do you know?
There's all my friends.
You know, where we work here in Texas, everyone,
maybe not everyone.
Let me rephrase that.
The three people in this room,
it still takes like 30 minutes to get where we.
Right.
Okay, to where we live.
And that's nothing.
Okay, that's not even counted as a drive.
Yeah.
So you just don't run across people.
That's stupid.
They were walking around and Charlie, they were like, look, the beach is like hours away, but I want to take you there.
And then Charlie hears water and they're like, oh, water.
And I was like, they're like nearby.
Of course.
No, let me finish.
And I didn't click it in my mind then.
And then she walks up on this lake and it was like, oh, look, it must have flooded.
And then as soon, it hit me there.
I was like, no.
No, this is it.
If I see an alligator or something.
Oh, I hope she could see it.
And then it gets to this.
And then she picks up John's hat.
And as soon as she picks up John's hat, I was like, they found the dang island.
Oh, yeah, of course.
I mean, at the end, they saw each other, right?
Yeah, we didn't see John or Strand.
No, but she.
That smile was totally I see Strand.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, on your behalf, Jason, I will say that she did look pretty good out wandering.
around last night on the episode.
Good as in hot.
Yes.
Yes, I completely agree.
That was an excellent choice
of wardrobe for out searching.
Yeah.
Texas roads.
I know.
It's like, you would think like zombie apocalypse
gear wouldn't be so fashionably hot.
You know what I mean?
But I'm going with it.
You know?
Just to get out of the car. It's all I can think of is
Jason's going to love it.
Oh, totally. Yeah.
It reminded me of like in a league of their own
when like they paraded the
baseball, female baseball players out there
in these little skirts.
I was like,
they're doing the same thing,
the beer chicks.
Ladies.
One of my favorite movies of all time.
I love that movie.
But let's break down that a little bit,
the Alicia Charlie thing.
So like they show up,
we've already hit that.
All of a sudden they find,
you know, the truck.
But then she was like,
well, everyone's dead.
They must be dead.
How do you?
even know? Their bodies, there's
body, there's Walker bodies, but none of their
bodies are there. And that's what I thought. They're like,
there's none of their bodies, the truck's
blown up. So how do you assume? How do you assume they're dead?
And even she said, we don't know if they're dead. They could be
somewhere. They could be dead. Charlie, we don't know.
That's exactly. That's why you go.
Look. Even Charlie had that idea.
Even Charlie was like, but that's why you go.
She's like, I'm picking east. I'm like, you've survived
this long and you're this stupid?
I'm just going to go east.
I know.
What?
It was so just nonsensical.
And then they somehow find the island with Strand and John, and then either one of them gets bitten by alligator.
I hope so.
I'd like to see the alligator floating around with John's hat and her dead.
Wait, wait, which her?
Either one.
Actually, Charlie's turning.
I come, I'm beginning.
She's growing on me a little bit.
Serious?
She's growing on me a little bit if she turns into Carl.
Oh shut your blasphemous mouth.
If they turn her into Carl and she becomes a badness.
Shut your blasphemous dirty mouth.
If she starts killing people without question, I don't know.
Next thing we know. Next thing we know. Next to the last episode,
how about this one? The last episode of the season, we see Charlie Luz and I.
I would not be surprised.
I would not be surprised.
She might be the one that loses that.
hand.
That's a good call.
The alligator takes her hand next episode.
It's going to happen.
She might be the one to lose the hand, yeah, because that way they could say they worked it in.
So would they be stealing from Happy Gilmore and Chubbs?
Or would they be stealing, you've seen that, right?
Yes.
Yeah, either way.
Or would they be stealing from the Walking Dead?
Yeah, either way.
Either one.
Either one, yeah.
Either the alligator takes Charlie or Alicia's hand.
No, but oh yeah, well, they want Leisha to be in charge, though.
right. See, that's the thing. Hopefully we get them back together
so that at least
Morgan can say, okay, you're in charge
and let Alicia be the... You think Morgan will say that?
Because Alicia wants to be in charge, right? She's a big boss bitch. She wants to be.
Well, I think, yeah, she does
for sure. That's her deal. So she gets them together
and John will acquiesce. Strand doesn't
care. Just give him a bottle of wine. And Morgan, he does not
want to be the leader, but they've forced him into the role.
June just wants to, you know, touch wounds and pretend she cares.
And let's get rid of...
Jim wants to make beer, but he's dead.
No, forget him. We need to use him.
We need to use him for bait to get out of the hospital.
We need, you know, he needs to come down.
He knows he's going to die.
He comes down to the walkway. He's bait.
That's interesting.
That might be good.
That's a good idea.
What about Wendell and Sarah?
What do you think is going to happen to them?
Which one?
Wendoll and Sarah.
You know what?
If we need more bait, you're next.
I'm sorry, but they just need to get rid of them.
I don't see any longevity for them at all.
I don't either.
I don't really...
What about Al?
I don't really like them.
And then we almost lost Al.
Oh, yeah, we did.
That's another good point.
She goes off into another angle somewhere.
Please, I don't want her dead.
I don't want her dead.
Please.
She was a great character.
She still is.
Please don't kill her.
Someone's crushing.
Hard on Al.
I know.
Wait until she starts walking along the road with the t-shirt.
Oh, God.
Shut up.
I can't even call that a t-shirt.
I was like, I don't know what that was.
Shut up.
Okay.
No, but, no, I agree.
You keep those core people like Al.
You keep John.
You keep June.
Yeah, they've rammed her down because that keeps John happy.
Right.
She's there to stay.
But you've got some very strong acting talent.
You keep them.
Get them together and let's go.
Right.
And there's not even a truck anymore.
There's no point.
Wendell and what's her name?
Wendell and Sarah.
And Sarah.
The writings are the wall.
They're dead.
They're so dead.
Good.
We need to get the van back.
And we'll get, you know, she got shot, right?
I mean, that's the one good thing, one will do, was shoot her.
Oh, that is true.
So she's like a wounded animal now.
Oh, that was another.
that that was nuts.
These people are veterans of the apocalypse.
They can't handle this one chick.
You got to be kidding me.
You've got to be kidding.
I don't understand how.
Morgan's dealt with Negan and the Saviors for crying out loud.
And a few walkers where, I mean, I get the avoidance of them.
I understand that.
I do.
But the avoidance of them to the point of being we can't fight them?
See, how about this one?
Martha meets Negan.
that would be
oh you're dead
did it not feel like a cartoon sequence
yes
that guy literally like she was like
who made it out see you guys later
you know it's like what
come on
yeah
this totally
totally a cartoon sequence
and uh yes
and when he had the shotgun
he didn't you know she's just
blew up your truck
and you're thinking twice about shooting her
another time with that shotgun
You're pulling the trigger on that.
You're pulling the trigger on that.
I don't care if you're handicapped laying on this ground.
You're pulling the trigger on that, although he didn't.
It just seems that we're led to believe that they're veterans of the apocalypse.
Like we know Morgan is.
And yet they are almost like beginners.
Yeah.
And I don't understand that.
Yeah, exactly.
We know why he's a beginner.
And we know that.
And I don't even buy that.
we time jumped
they're ahead
now from
I mean from the beginnings of fear
right they've gone all this time
Alicia and her mom
and all you know walked across
Texas and Strand walked across Texas
and all this all this time
and one thing I will say
Strand they have not pushed Strand into the point of
being afraid of that he just kills him moves on
I like that yeah that's where we should be
there's no there's no second thought about that
but the rest of them
Martha the new evil person
and I joked around about
you know it's been four or five years or whatever
and she didn't lose any weight but
okay if we time jumped
there's got to be I mean I'm not a
I don't hate the character
as much as some
Martha? I don't hate the character as much as some
I kind of at least we have somebody bad to watch
I don't necessarily think the development was great
this like fat sympathy or something like that
Like you guys are like, not sympathy, but like, you have to have something common.
So you're like, so you're like, I think I have a better idea.
You're on team Martha because she's on team Jeffie pretty much.
You know what, yes.
I think I have a better idea.
I think I have a more reasonable explanation.
The more reasonable explanation is that that Jeffie here has been missing a good villain since Negan and he's been,
and since Metro Negan didn't really work out for him, he's starting to like this girl because
she's now the new villain and he needs a villain.
go with that. But she's not a good villain.
Well, she's an awful one got.
Why do you hate fat people?
Because I gotta talk to you every day and he's giving me a bad impression of the rest of the
That's why.
You give them all a bad name, fat man.
Hey, by the way, you're welcome.
I know. I know. I know. I know. I want to have a villain to like.
Max is kind of on the right track with that. I do want to have a little bit.
I get it. Yeah. But again, I really am frustrated with, we did
time jump. Okay, well, that means things change. Right? I mean, we're, I don't, I don't understand how
they can expect us to believe that we time jumped and all this time passed. And nobody evolved
in that time jump. Yeah. It just doesn't make any sense. Yeah, at this point, you're either a,
you're either a badass or you're like a master manipulator if you're alive. Right. But they're not
acting like either. Except Morgan. Except Morgan. And Morgan's questionable. Right. I mean, well, Morgan's
He's been in a lot of a lot of situations like the hospital situation and not ran and didn't want to kill anybody and only fought when he had to.
Why couldn't you clear out a couple of hallways?
Yeah.
I don't understand that.
Speaking of what.
They've got all kinds of weapons in the hospital.
Morgan's got the stick.
You clear, you take two or three people and clear out that hallway just like they did at the prison.
Yep.
You just slowly clear it out.
I don't understand that we're at that point.
I mean, there was a lot of walkers, but still.
But one thing...
Those are some good episodes.
The prison episodes.
Oh, my house are so good.
But one thing...
Remind me.
I forgot.
I need to mention this.
When Morgan got up on the roof to check,
to check if there were any walkers up there,
he said clear.
And that just got me saying,
ah, ha, he said it, he said it.
Because he said, when he knocked the stick,
down on the floor of the roof and they went
clear. I was just like, ah, he said
it. All right, so we have
two episodes left.
Right, we've got, and
you'll appreciate the names.
Next week, I
lose people.
Okay, so that's a Morgan episode.
Last episode, I lose myself.
Morgan episode.
And the IMDB explanation is
the group's hope falters as they
seek a way out.
Alicia and Charlie reunite with friends.
And the last week, Morgan struggles to find the strength to help friends in dire need before it's too late.
Ugh.
I don't know.
It's going to...
How are they going to do another full season of getting them back to Virginia?
They've got to be together.
They've got A, they've got to be together.
And they've got...
If they're going to travel, let's travel.
Let's travel.
Let's run across some bad guys.
Let's have an episode of, you know, let's have a guy chased.
Maybe let's come across a bad guy.
that's worthy and chasing them across a couple of states,
you know,
where they got to hole up for an episode or two
to fight some of the people, whatever.
You know, it would be really good if it truly was a full crossover season.
So, like, if it was like,
it would basically be watching two hours of just regular walking dead.
So it was like, like, in the very beginning of the season,
if they link up with Rick's group, you know,
or like, or they run into the whisperers or something like that.
So the plot lines are totally interconnected.
That would be cool.
That would be cool.
Yeah, that would be.
I don't know that they're going to do that, though.
That'd be dope.
I mean, that'd basically be like nonstop Walking Dead,
because that would be like,
there would be this show,
they run straight into the Walking Dead.
And then season 10 of Walking Dead,
and what is it?
Season 6 of fear.
Season 5.
No, after next season.
So this is season 9 of Walking Dead coming up.
This is season 4.
So next season is 5,
next season is 10, right?
Or six, next season is 10, they merge, right?
So season 10 of Walking Dead is just...
Just one show.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And that could last another 10 years.
10, you think?
They'd have to be...
They'd have to...
Yeah.
They'd have to do a lot of character development between now and the...
Well, there's also the comic stories with the Commonwealth and stuff, so...
Yeah, I mean, there's places to go, but you've got to have the writers to do it, right?
Mm-hmm.
I mean, the...
That's part of...
You know, one of the things that it's frustrating to me is how much writers matter.
Sorry, I'm seeing a...
I give you a slam and I get nothing to do.
I saw it.
Casio Cortez is on Fox News and it just kind of unhinged me for a second.
So, lost my train of that.
She's running for office.
She'll be fine.
She's not going to win.
He's all right.
Anyway.
Socialism works.
Yeah.
Hoof.
I don't want to go there on this episode.
Sorry.
All right.
Listen, next Monday we'll be here talking fear.
Thanks for listening.
And hopefully you'll find out that the show gets a little bit better than it has been.
But I don't know.
You know what?
But this was negative.
But again, I actually enjoyed the episode.
That's what I'm saying.
Okay.
So I'm glad you said that because I didn't want to end on a negative point because I really did.
Like I started out at the beginning of the podcast saying.
I like the episode.
I really at first glad when it was first done, I thought.
You know what?
I kind of liked that one.
That was a good episode.
It felt good.
But plot development, it was horrible.
But the episode was enjoyable to watch.
Yes.
Yes.
And that was Lou Diamond Phillips.
All him.
I bet.
I guarantee you that was Lou Diamond Phillips.
Yeah.
They had Strand do the one before, right?
With the backstory or whatever, with the flooding with Carol and your girl.
What's your name?
The little girl.
Charlie?
Charlie.
Charlie.
How did you say Carol?
I don't know.
I get them all confused.
I thought we said they're turning June into Carol.
Yeah, I know.
I can't remember their names.
I don't care about them that much, okay?
I'm sorry.
And you're right.
Charlie,
Jesus, they're going to make...
We said it last week, and they're making her Carl.
Totally.
That's stupid.
If she loses a hand next week,
if she loses a hand or like a half an arm
or something like that
so they have to take care of her,
that might be how they...
have to find June, right?
From the alligator.
That's true, though.
Yeah.
If they find it, right, they need somebody that are going to be able to take care of her
and heal her, right?
So they've got to go find Morgan and June.
Yeah.
Right now.
Mm-hmm.
And they know that they can talk to them on the walkie-talkies and they'll always be
found because you can find people in Texas just like that.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah, just like that.
Yeah.
They're just around the corner.
I'm not saying it's going to happen, but we're definitely calling this.
Absolutely.
She loses the epic.
She loses her hand to the alligator.
Someone, someone, someone.
I'll call it, that's fine.
We'll stick with Charlie, but someone's going to get hurt enough
to have to go find you.
Yeah.
Yeah, have to.
And they'll be disappointed because they just left the hospital
and they didn't get enough bandages so they have to go back in.
I lose people.
See you next Monday.
