Season 8, episode 10, the lost and the plunderers. That makes this Talking Walking Dead with myself, Jeff Fisher, Brad Staggs, Jason Butchrell, and Maximus Fisher. Welcome to the episode, which was a tremendous episode, I think. Doe. Within the last week, I just want to wish my son, Maximus, happy birthday. Hey, number 16. Happy birthday. Yay.

No. Yeah, he's not my son. That's coming. He's not my son. All right, so this week was pretty good. What do you think of it, Bradley? They should have called this the Enid is Hot episode. Right?

She's 18, so we can say that. It was, okay. You know, actually, if you could actually check the metrics to see what was most Googled after that episode, it was probably. It was probably was. How old is the? actress that plays Enid on the one. And she had the, she had control of their Twitter account that night too.

One of those searches would definitely not be mine. I don't know what you're talking about. Mine was research just to find out for this show. Okay, I thought that it was a good episode altogether, but the title cards were weird. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Jadis, Michone, Rick. They were just trying to give you an idea.

I think that they've been listening. Did they do a Simon? By the way? Yeah. Oh, they did? They did what? They did a Simon card too? I just remember, okay.

I don't mind that. It's a different way of storytelling. It's different. And I think that... More comic booky, actually. Yes. And I think that they... I think it leads back to what we talked about before,

not knowing what they were doing for the fights, right? And not doing what they were doing for the war. Oh, yes. And who was doing what? Right. So now they're letting you know, hey, we're going around the bend where everybody is. And yet further just clarification information that they listen to this frigging podcast. That's absolutely correct.

We hadn't seen him. You know, it's been such a while, such a long time. So we've actually seen him. It was almost like it was nice to have it back. It was nice. It felt good to have his, it felt good to have his lines back. Well,

and he did, I read something somewhere that this episode actually made him more human because of the, the comparison between he and Simon. Because Simon turned out to be a, woo. Oh, yeah. Well, Simon's one of the soldiers, right?

I mean, Simon is one of his soldiers. He's first, first soldier to name. And he tells him what he thinks. Right. And he's pretty much done what Negan has wanted throughout the whole thing. Until now. Well, and he still did what Negan wanted. I mean, he killed a couple extra people.

What are you going to do? But you can't really argue with his reasoning. I know what I mean? Like, he's like, basically he was like, we need to go and find new communities because we were burned on these guys. Right. We lost control. Like literally, if he would, if Negan would have listened to Simon, if Simon would have

marched down and just taken out hilltop, because they're prime for the plucking right now. Right. They would have no issues and they would go on to superstardom in this world. Yeah. But we know the inevitable outcome. Well, and if you like Simon, I hope you enjoyed him because he's dead. You think so? Oh, yeah.

Oh, I don't know. He's going to be the next. I was kind of expecting it. He's going to get very well acquainted with Lucille. I was expecting it last night when he lied or I mean the night before when he died when he lied. Yeah. I wish you hadn't a lie. If he hadn't lied to Niggins, he probably would have saved his life.

Yeah, how does he think that that won't get back to Nagan? Yeah, I mean, he was that all those saviors with him, yeah, somebody's going to talk. Yeah. And Nigan knows something's up. Yes. I mean, he's just, just the feeling that he got. That's why he asked about it.

That's why I wanted to know how it was good, how it went. You know, so that's why I'm kind of surprised that Simon lied to him. And this gives me a theory. And this gives me a theory that this isn't the first time this has happened. Because my theory is, that Simon is the reason that Oceanside's men got all killed because that doesn't sound like something

Negan would do. Yeah, you're right. Negan is the Savior, right? That's what he believes he is. Yeah. As warped of a savior as he is, that's what he believes he is. Yeah. We have not seen the Oceanside women

meet Simon, have we? We don't know. We first met them with all their men gone already and then they told us the story of how the saviors. Right. I think,

but they said they never met Negan. I think Simon is the reason. Right. All their men got killed. Yep. I'll bet you're right. Yeah, you're probably all right. Good idea.

And then we have my traitor, Enid, trying to be out there with. I still believe she's the traitor. I still think she's the traitor. I'm starting to waver a little bit. I know. I know. It seems that's why I think she still is. They're trying to, they're trying to corner you like she's not.

I mean, the way they could get around it was, like, Because now it seems like she might be turning a little bit. But I wonder if she'll have this breakdown and this come to Jesus moment to where like, okay, this is what happened. This is how she got, this is how Maggie got sick. In the very beginning, it's all my fault.

But they end up, you know, forgiving her and then all as well. I don't know. I'd still be happy with that. Maybe. It's possible. We know they wouldn't kill her now.

And there are a couple of internet memes out there with a traitor next to Enid's name. So apparently just popping up now? Yeah. Other serious. Again. Welcome to the program, everyone.

Yeah, me either. Doesn't matter. I don't know. She's going to be dead anyway. But you could see it in her eyes. She was almost there. And I think that's what she was playing on. She was almost there.

And now that Granny's gone. And I thought they were almost there before, right? At one other time, they were going to help out. And Granny, I think, was the reason she's gone. She knew she was the obstruction to them cooperating. So Granny took herself out. Has Aaron ever had any dealings with Simon to try and bring Maximus's theory back to light? I mean, maybe if they find out about Simon, they'll jump on board.

That'll be the last little bit to get that to join. That's possible. That's what I'm thinking is when they see Simon and they have that visceral reaction to him. They'll want to find out. I don't remember if has Aaron ever dealt with Simon? Yes, he has. Simon was the reason they lined up, remember? Aaron was in the lineup.

Oh, that's right. And then Simon was like everyone get on your knees. Yeah. So maybe if he talks through that and mention Simon, and they're like... And this is when we find out he's the reason they killed all the men. It's possible. I like it. I like it. I know. I know. I like that a lot. All right, let's move on to, before we get to Rick and Carl and Negan, which was... That was amazing.

Tremend. We can get to that. We'll get to that. I love the Negan. It's your fault. He's dead. Rick, I think it backfired on him being pissed that it wasn't Negan that killed him. you know, because he was like, of course it's not your fault. You didn't kill him, you know, like you an arrogant bastard. But really, he should have said, yes. It's your fault. It's your fault, Carl's dead. Because Negan played that card instead.

Absolutely, did. I liked, and I agree with you guys. It was so good to see Negan. I don't know if it was because I just hadn't seen him a long time or he was just written. I know, I think it was both. He was written very well this episode. I got no complaints with this episode. He was written so well.

But you could see on his face when he found out. that Carl was dead he was legitimately hurt yeah even on the phone call he said oh good he even said I wanted that he said I wanted that boy to do have do things I had plans like he right he thought he was the future I know he loved he's not anymore unless oh boy oh god unless we never saw his body yeah we did yeah we did we did we never did not we didn't see somebody right they did bury something. They buried something. And we see his body under the tarp. What if he next week, he can still come back. Rick wakes up and this was all a dream. Oh. But I will say, did you notice

in the opening credits? They left up the backplate for Chandler Riggs. Because his was always away with you. That that shot was still in the opening credits without his name in it. Interesting. So maybe this was, maybe this is the who shot J.R. moment. No way. For those of you under 40. Who shot J.R. Was something? What is that? Remember? Oh, that's right.

You didn't know? Seriously? Oh, that's right. I don't remember that show at all. I don't know what you're talking about. Wow. Wow. Was that shot here in this?

Parts of it. In Texas? Yeah. Oh, we find out Carl wrote a letter to Negan. Yeah. Yeah. And he wrote a letter to Rick and he wants him to stop. You know, I want him to get along.

And Rick read his letter to Negan, which is illegal. That's, that's male. You're not supposed to open someone else's mail. Federal. Yeah, that's a federal offense. Technically, though, do federal laws still exist? No. Does the Constitution at that point still exist?

I would guess that someone would argue that, yes, that's the case. It does still exist, right? But the breakdown of society and government with the outbreak, probably not. Yeah. So they're toast. Yeah. Okay. What's up with Jadis?

I mean, this is like everybody skipped right. Okay, now, okay, we're getting into the scaven. This is, okay, this is something. Wait, wait, wait. Are you referring to why she was clothed while she was painting? Well, that's it. Because that pissed me off. That too.

I was like, what the hell is going on to the show? But then she did change out of clothes and into a nightgown for whatever reason. That's true. But then all of a sudden, she spoke full sentences. She spoke normal. She spoke normally. Well, first you're a helipad. There are solar panels.

Yeah. They have power to power up a giant meat grinder. what's going there's something more to all that was the recycle grinder right that's not yeah right exactly he just turned in which first actually really kind of pisses me off why she's okay she had that at her advantage why didn't she tell Rick and Michone that

that we've got a way to get us out instead of Rick building his door his car door with horns on it to get out of the place they didn't really give her the option they were to screw her and like leaving anyway well he might have looked down at her and said, oh, she's nasty.

Yeah. Those were some nasty feet. It was nasty. Yeah. Nasty, nasty feet. But I will say that Walker Sludge was nice to see. That was a great thing. But her nasty feet weren't home girls' fault, though.

She'd just been through some crap. Yeah, she had. Like, let's just make that clear right now. And can I point out that I don't think that grinder wouldn't have ground them up that finely. You still would have seen fingers and toes and stuff like that, like little chunks of stuff. You would notice that. Like clumps of hairs. I don't know.

That looked like tomato sauce. Because you're probably right because that's a recycling metal grinder. Yeah, so it's not designed to grind up into sludge like that. Right. But what was powering it? Solar panels. Solar panels. They said there were solar panels.

Yeah. What the hell is going on there? Acres of solar panels to power. And the helipad still adds to my theory that the helicopter was the scavengers. Uh-huh. Yeah. There's something more. And then she was eating rations, MREs at the end there.

Yeah. canned applesau. So, yeah. So there's something going on. I was torn. And Max, let me know what you think about this. They were,

and the scavengers, they were really torn. So I, oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah, they work. So I was thinking, the first thing I tweeted was,

we might have just seen the birth of the whispers. And I was, I know that's a change. I know. But, but they're, they've shown willing to change

plot lines a little bit. I keep the overall. No, I know, I know. No. Because she's not going away. So I was like, she's setting. herself up to be both a villain to Rick's gang

and Negan's gang. She hates them both now. Right. So I was like, they're either changing the plot a little bit and turning her into the new, what's the alpha? For the Whispers. Or this is setting up the next plot line after the whispers, which is the Max New World Order. New World Order.

Which would make sense with the helicopter and all that craft. Solar panels and the whole works would, that would make sense. Yeah, it shows like different infrastructure, like a different society that we don't Who is the New World Order? What's their thing? Oh, in the comics right now, there's this thing called the Commonwealth where they have, basically, they live in the city where it actually has, they have a stadium where they actually have concerts and sports games there. It's like a whole not another level of society.

Like, yeah, and then Moshone asked, how many people do you have? And then I think one guy said, oh, not much, just 50,000. Wow. So we're talking about the formation of a new government type. Yeah. Definitely new rule. Kind of like, remember when Fear went into the stadium? I want to get back to another Walking Dead Show.

Remember when Fear went into the stadium? That was, you mean that was the market? Yeah. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was kind of like the New World Order laid out there in the stadium. Yeah. I mean, why not use the stadiums, right?

I mean, those are. Fortified. And, yeah, you can secure them pretty good. A lot of entrances to them, though. Well, yeah, but you secure the ones. that you only use the ones you want. I'm just saying there's some danger in that. That's all.

Just be careful. There's danger everywhere. Just be careful. There's danger everywhere. There's dead people walking. But, okay, so it is weird that she's all of a sudden, why was she, why were they not talking in complete sentences before this? Well, I mean, go with you, I will.

The first time we heard her talk normal was when she slugged Simon. Right. And then Simon slaughtered everyone except her. and now she's talking normal. Which leads us to or should lead us to believe they're not who they said they were. Yeah, it's right. They're covert in some way. Yeah.

Or, okay, yeah, I didn't even think about that, but that's a very good theory. Because she dropped the ruse right then when he. Or the rest of them have devolved like that. And she was using this as like a manipulation tactic similar in the same vein that the king does his stupid showboat crap. Right, that's what they need. That's what they needed to survive to believe in that. Right. Wait.

Here's how we're going to survive. I'm going to talk in half sentences. And y'all are going to talk with me like that. Yeah. With me, you are? No, they were talking like that, though. And she just decided. I think what Jason is saying is that they had already started devolving to that.

So it's like, but yeah. So she stumbled across the community of retards and she decided to be the head one. Yeah. I know. She said she said she went to that junkyard before the, before the outbreak. To paint. Yeah. It was probably.

good place away from the city to get naked and do ironwork and it's it's a manipulation tactic as well to further iron out my theory it's it's like it's a way to get them to believe they're a part of another community like it's distinctive you know like we're different we're going to set ourselves apart and that binds them together yeah i think they're a covert operation i'm going with covert i think so too i'm thinking they were i agree with you i'm just not sure if the entire group is or just uh jadis was like the ringleader and maybe and maybe the three and maybe the two other head guys in that they're dead now though yeah yeah dude we're getting all in the theory crafting this is awesome something's going on there there is something behind that garbage dump oh yeah

didn't she say there weren't piles so those piles are hiding something the piles of garbage are hiding something i cbm silos could be that'd be absolutely be that's interesting you could take out that the piles weren't there before uh-huh uh-huh it just moved in the garbage i mean it's heavily hinting it's a military base and it doesn't see no one seemed to pay a attention to that. I don't for whatever reason it's kind of blew by past it. No one pays attention to the garbage. Right. Garbage is going to take over.

And the garbage bins were hiding the exit that they, the entrance and exit that they go out. So you know they're using it for a reason. Yeah. Okay. We're on to something guys. I don't think so. Yep. And then, so the garbage people are gone except for Jadis. Mm-hmm. So we have, now we have Rick who was pissed.

Yeah. And he's going off. Some of the people like Aaron and Enid and a couple other people, they don't even know Carl's dead yet, right? Maggie. No, right. The people are Hilltop know Carl's dead.

So we're going to have to go through that. Yeah. Once, I mean, maybe we play off a little bit of that because Daryl was going to Hilltop. So by the time he gets there, then they'll have had their cry. Yeah.

Sorry, when Rick shows up, they can give him a hug. I'm sorry about Carl. Yeah. I hope they don't know. I hope they don't dwell on it. I know. I don't either. Because I want to go through this with every single person that hasn't heard yet.

I know. That's what, you know, because that's what they're going to do with Enid too, right? Yeah. As soon as she finds out, she's going to completely break down. Yeah.

Yeah. That's when she confess. That's right. I'm so sorry that Carl's dead. Next day. I shouldn't have talked to Negan. What? What?

Oh, did I say that out loud? He could be coming. And then Father Gabriel, too. We need to find out what happens with him next week. I completely forgot about Father Gabriel. I had forgotten about Aaron and Eden until they showed up on this last episode. I did too, yeah.

He was like, oh, yeah, that's right. Where were they going? Oh, you know who we didn't talk about? Mishone. Oh, what was there to talk about? She's with Rick and she's sad that Carl's dad. Oh, I did like the scene, though, where they both. both ran back to try and put out the fire.

Why did that? What did I miss with that? It's because they say Carl used to sit on top of that. Okay, that's where that was belonged to him, right? I thought maybe he built it or something with the mayor. He only had one eye. He couldn't see to build that thing. When they first got there.

He kept hitting his thumb. Did he only have one eye when they first got there? Ow! Carl, put the hammer down. No, he had two eyes when he first got there. Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's true, that's right.

When they were sticking out of the crowd with Hottie Ms. I know with Rick's girlfriend should have lived. And the stupid little whiny kid that got everybody killed. Yeah. Why didn't they just toss that little kid to the... Thank you. He made me sick. Did he have his two eyes when they got there?

Yeah. See, that's where he got. Remember, they were trying to escape with Rick's girlfriend. They were walking through the walkers with the sheet with sheets covered good. Then the little kid got eaten and then the older kid. Blamed Rick was aiming the gun at him. the gun at him, Moshone stabbed him and he missed and shot Carl

on the eye. It feels like poor Carl's been shot something. I know. I've forgotten the injury that he suffered. Yeah. Then he dies from a Walker Bites save with the Muslim. Yeah. Come on. Wow. Dang. But he's a good guy. But he's a good guy.

What's his name? Sadieke. Sidique. Yes. He's a good guy in the comic book. Yes. So he's going to turn out to be a good guy. Mm-hmm. Right? He's going to be, he's going to turn out to be maybe the guy that saves them. Maybe. That's the case. Was he a doctor in the comics?

I think so. Also, you know, you know what we said last time where we're thinking Negan might die? Right? I think maybe Simon might be the big death for the season and Negan lives. Simon wouldn't, I don't think Simon would be. I don't think Simon's a big enough death for us. I mean, I'm with you. It's not a shocker, but now everybody expects him to die.

Right. The only reason I'm on below. with the Negan will die thing is because I just he's too expensive I just don't think you can afford to pay him and I saw that having been said I think that the fans the television fans are not going to be happy with the outcome of Negan just plung me along like he did in the comic books in the comic books you get it and you go okay cool and right you know five pages later he's still in the cell but on TV him showing up and not dead they're going to want him dead TV fans want him dead

Dead Interesting casting decision To do such a big star though You know for this role I know Because you know that you're gonna be What is he what do you think he's pulled in per episode I read somewhere that

I don't know what Jeffrey Morgan is pulling That Darrell is Norman Reattis is 80 grand an episode Which seems low to me That seems very low Wow Really low but Again when they all

When they started this series It was you know A bunch of Yeah but we're darn there We were eight seasons in Yeah, but if they would have raking some cash. Maybe. It depends on how long those initial contracts were for.

You know, if they had clauses for renewal, you know, 10 years, whatever. And they're thinking, hey, that's solid money. You know, because that's what, 10, 16 episodes times 80 grand. How much is that, Mathis? $18,420 a day. Let's just see. $0.84 a day. 80,000 times 16.

800. Almost a million? 1.2. Yeah. That's not bad. I mean, that's a decent salary for... That seems awful low for the show, though. It does.

I mean, AMC's raking in the bus. But, well, you say that, and then you look at... That's just Daryl. Yes. Right? Yeah. It's just Daryl making the million. So what do you think?

Everybody else is raking in at least that. But no way Jeffrey D. Morgan's making that low. He's got to be pulling something. Yeah, no way. Unless he came on board with, you know, saying, hey, you know, you can pay me 50 grand an episode and I get all the I get rerun money.

Maybe it could be, yeah, it could be back end. I don't know, but you're right. It doesn't seem like it was to bring in Jeffrey Dean Morgan for that role was a good choice because he's playing the role perfectly. Oh yeah, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's an amazing, Negan. Yeah.

He's the biggest star by far of the entire cast, right? That is true. The biggest. The ship, since the show. Yeah, I mean, he was always. Yes. He was always a solid. I mean, he wasn't a box office legend, but he was a solid actor.

He was pretty good, though. He's in a lot of stuff. Yeah. Yeah. What Rick is probably the second, I guess, he's been in some of those sappy, British. Actually, there's one article that says that Norman Rees makes more than Rick. Norman Redis makes 124 an episode, and Rick makes 92.

How weird. I mean, that's all the gesture. How weird. I mean, I mean, I, someday they'll make as much as we do. Right. Someday. I feel sorry for it. I do, too.

I don't know how they subsist on that sort of money. I mean, this episode, we're getting what? Well, that's not like to talk about it. It'll embarrass people. And I just, I mean, it is embarrassing to talk about how much we get paid for this. Yeah, I know. I know. Wow.

It really is. Probably not for the reasons everyone's thinking. So next week, Maximus, what do you see happening? I know it's not the way I'm thinking. I'll play. Well, from the promos, we see Gabriel, who are escaping with the doctor, and we also see he Daryl, Tara, and the rest of the group

heading to Hilltop. I got about Tara, too. I did too. Tara, she's got to go to. I'm tired. Yeah, I saw some, I saw a clip. She's really, she really wants to kill Dwight, and it's kind of annoying.

And I hope Dwight kills her. We just need some more slow-motion shots of Tara running. No, we don't. I'll be ready Still Most pregnancy I'll be ready Way to end on a high note
