Season 8, episode 11, dead or alive, or. Some have called it the blind leading the blind episode, but that makes this talking, walking dead. With myself, Jeff Fisher, Brad Staggs, Jason Butchell, and Maximus Fisher. Let's do this. Welcome to it. Well, this episode I don't think was as good as last week's, but it was pretty good. Okay, that's weird.

I thought it was better than last week. Really? I don't know why. Maybe it was the swamp walkers. The Swamp Walkers Those were cool That was an outstanding scene I didn't think it was better

Putting his hands in the hands of God And actually I was kind of impressed That God made an appearance Yes That they weren't afraid to have I know I was impressed So when I first saw that

They were going to center this so much around Gabriel and the doc I was like already rolling my eyes but I thought that the whole where they did that were you know it was very obvious you know that it seemed to me that they were making it very obvious that there was a higher power

yep yeah and at first the doc was you know kind of mocking him about it but I just thought the way they played that out it was just really really cool it was really cool and when they walked into the old like the like I'm just going to call this like a radio shack because it was a shack

That's true. Your own. Your radio's hour. That's funny. Very good. That's the first thing I came to mind. Surrounded by camouflage fabric. Yeah.

That was kind of weird. And then we see the guy like OD'd and committed suicide at the same time. Right. Well, that's how he committed suicide. He OD. He did. He did. He did the bag over his head.

Yes. Yeah. He tried to, you know, took the pills and decided that he just got high instead of killing himself. So I put the bag over his head. Yeah. He went out with a smile on his face. I guess so. Tried to OD on antibiotics.

That's their first mistake right there. No, yeah. The others that weren't left over were the ones he was trying to OD. The empty bottles were the good stuff. The doc is like, what the hell? The doc was turned, all right, I don't want to spend a whole bunch of time on him. But the doc was turned into like, I didn't like him. I was glad he was finally killed.

He didn't like. Doc or no doc. Yeah, he didn't like Carson. Kind of a douche. Why? Why? Carson was a little bit of a douche. Why? What did he do that was so dushy?

Just being him and his old... As a doctor. He's fine as a doctor. Look, he believes that he's God, right? I mean, that's the old joke, right? Right. Yeah. I mean, the difference between God and a doctor,

God doesn't believe he's a doctor. I got it. That was good. But at some point, most doctors will agree that, you know, hey, there's something higher than me helping you. He didn't even realize that until, you know, I don't know, the gunshot,

maybe. Well, I think he... And then he thought that, hey, God's on... God's on the reverence side. He's got to be on my side, too. I'm going to steal this guy's gun and will win. It didn't work out so well for it. And then when he got caught in the bear trap before then. before that. Yeah, I know, but that was, that was still, God could still be on his side.

Yeah. At the back of the truck, when, when he gets shot, God was like, no. Yeah. Well, I didn't tell you to take the, oh, that was, that was dumb. What the heck, what the heck, virus or whatever does Gabriel have? I don't know. Did they ever identify this? No, they did not. I mean, the comics, does he have it? No. And so he does, does he go blind in the comics? No. Wow. Major departure. That's a first for them, huh? Gee.

We already lost the kid. Yeah. That was weird when she said that. When Rosita said that. Moving on to them, moving on to the hill, moving on to the rest of the survivors going to Hilltop from through the swath. I wish Darrell would have just killed Tara, been done with it. I told you to stay here. Terri is irritating.

She sure is. I have to agree with you there. She's still fat. I know. You can't blame it on the baby. No. She's had time to work. She's had time to go to LA fitness in between takes.

I will just say this, that she can still blame it on the baby, and there's not a mother on this planet that will let you get away with that. However, there have been many people in positions of acting and also in positions of being in front of a camera of the female persuasion that have fought back quicker than she has. Yes. That's all. They've rebounded. They have rebounded a lot quicker.

They rebounded a lot faster. There was this funny parody account for Herschel. Yeah, we saw that. We saw that. Yeah. I don't remember specifically. He was like, he was basically like, yeah, she's all high and muddy now, you know, but back when, you know, I was getting my head chopped off, he was standing right behind, you know.

And I was like, that's true. Like she is very high in mind. Like, where she was basically in the same exact position as Dwight. But now that's a good point. That's mistake. That's slipping her. And of course. And of course.

her thing with Dwight where she was trying to kill Dwight. Look, I was, I like Dwight and I know Daryl hates him almost as much as Tara. But seriously, can you hold off on trying to kill him until after the battles? Well, that's what Daryl's trying to do. Yeah. Yeah. But the part that bothered me when Tara caught up to him, she had every opportunity to shoot him. And didn't.

It's like either shoot him or don't shoot him. And then she takes the shot at the tree and he would have gotten something in his eye. I mean, seriously, you know what I'm saying. She shoots the, you can't be that close to where that bullet is. I mean, Jason, you've been in battle like the rest of us. You understand what happens.

We're supposed to get the tree that close. We've all been there. And then the small savior group comes in and then Dwight comes out of the bushes. Yeah, that was a good move on his part, though. That was. Save himself. But now how has he extricated?

himself from the saviors again? Or does he? Yeah, he doesn't. Yeah, I mean, that's... See, and didn't they have that discussion that Dwight could be the person that takes over for Nigen? Didn't they have that discussion already?

Because the theory of keeping him alive was sound, I thought. But now everyone's kind of just like pretending like they don't understand why they're still keeping him around. It's more than just he can provide like intelligence. It's like they need someone to step into the Negan role

after he's gone. Otherwise, you're going to have someone like, I was going to say we've already seen the Simon is whacked out of his mind. Simon's whacked out of his mind. He's worse than Negan. Just Negan's keeping him in line. And I was disappointed we didn't see him this episode. I was hoping we'd see something.

I will see him next time when he takes Lucille upside the head. I don't know. I think you're right, actually. You really think he'll get Lucille. Oh, yeah. Well, Lucille gets first dibs. You found that out last time. True.

Which, but I have to, speaking of Lucille, I have to call foul on their whole premise of you get Walker goo on the bat. What is wrong with that? Max and I have, Maximus and I have had an argument about this forever. It makes no sense that you can rub walker guts all over you. And not get infected. Right. But you get hit with the bat and you get infected if it's got walker guts on it.

Max's argument to that is that, and think about this now for a second. All right. So you get hit with the bat that has the barbed wire. Right. So it goes inside. You're smearing walker guts on your face. You're going to get on your mouth. Rick has been covered.

in goo all over their eyes and it's been in their system. Yes. But it has... I think you either get it or you don't. I think... I think they've done... They did this exactly in the comics too.

It was like shot for shot for what Negan did in the comics. My thing is it has to go directly in the bloodstream like what Negan is saying, where when he hits someone with Lucille, barbed wire bat, the blood and guts goes in your bloodstream directly. So you're telling me that every

time they wipe guts on them, they never had a scratch on them that could have gotten into. There's a difference between a scratch and a cut. This is so great. What's the difference? If you've got blood coming out of a scratch, you're going to get that in your bloodstream. This is such a nerd conversation.

Uh-huh. This is like the walking game versus of Star Wars. Godzilla would win. Yeah, yes. Godzilla's teeth and moths are going to leave fire. Superman would beat up Mighty Mouse. Easy. It's right.

Not a cartoon. Bullcrab. But seriously, there's no difference between. between a cut and a scrape. So I'm sorry. Your explanation does not make any sense. What are you, Jason? I think, yeah, I think this is where the fantasy breaks down and you can't really engage in these conversations.

Because, yeah, it's obvious. Because you just got to go with it. And it's like, yeah, and it's like every time like there's like so, like if you ingest, you know, like Walker Blood, I think that you would get it. That just makes sense. Well, we know that to be true. Bob. When they ate Bob. Right.

Yeah. Tainted meat. And that's not going directly in the bloodstream. That's going in your mouth down into your stomach. Yeah. Through the mucus membranes. It's all connected to your bloodstream. The sound you're hearing is maximum spritish.

That's good. That was good, actually. There you go. I'm with you all that. That was good. So what do you got to say about that? Yeah. That's what I thought.

Uh-huh. Max had the same look on his face that his dad had. What was that like two weeks ago? Oh, when Morgan was going to come in as a different guy. Like father like son. Hey, don't laugh, Max. You got that look at your face too. Dang it.

So funny. Okay, what about Eugene? Oh, yeah, it was good to say Eugene back. Oh, it was not good. Did you say it was good to have him back? I said it was good to have Eugene back, meaning, not really. Ugh. He's, now he's in charge of his own outpost.

There's a, yeah, but. No. He did, that wasn't probably my favorite exchange towards the end. That was, I think, with the, with the girl? No. Oh, when he, with, with Negan, when he was like, will there be one? And he's like, there will indeed. I was that.

I was like, that was dope. And then him talking about the whole, in the outpost, him talking about whole going medieval on them and throwing Walker guts. and heads over them. That was funny. Oh, yeah. And Negan was just like, wow.

Yeah. You're messed up. I'm going to use it. But again, that goes back to the, you're just going to throw stuff on them? Well, but. Eugene's psychological.

Right. He wasn't saying anything about getting them infected with that, Brad. But you'd have to draw that logical conclusion because of the Lucille gut thing. No. You know,

From what? No, that's not true. So you're using a head as a cannonball. If an arm is flying over my head and goo drops on my head from the arm, I'm not getting infected. What if you have a cut on your head? Then I'm getting infected. Exactly. Because it's going directly into the bloodstream.

So good hygiene is important. Very good hygiene. You never get any cuts in times like that. Right. No, no, no. No, no. When you're fighting in the jungle and you're fighting other walkers. Right.

Scraping you and trying to bite you. You never get scraped. No. You never walk by a. bush and get cut by or scraped by the branches and no i just don't i know suspension of disbelief boy i got to say another thing too that i was impressed with and i'm really surprised that nobody either you guys didn't notice it how pregnant maggie was oh i know it's like she's just i mean she's ready to explode she's ready to pop at one point

she was grabbing her belly i was like what are you grabbing girl when she was looking at the baby in the crib. I thought, what are you doing? She is still in her first trimester. Oh, stop. Is that, seriously? Is that possible? No, it is not possible. It is not possible. Well, it's possible in a world where you get infected by wipe the gutts.

It looks like in the same amount of time, Judith aged like 45 years. But she's still in her first trimester. Well, and when they picked up the baby was Gracie? Gracie, yeah. Wasn't she a lot smaller than she was? Yes. Yeah. Yeah.

Yes. Wait, since when? Since they picked her up at the outpost or whatever. Wasn't she just like a little tiny bundle? And she looked like a two-year-old leg in that crib. Yes, she did. She looked really big. So, yeah.

But Maggie is still in her first trimester. Maybe there's something wrong. Maybe that's what's going to happen. It's like, no. Well, they have to, right? I mean, they have to have her back. Maggie gave birth in the comics till. Which doesn't mean squat.

Not anymore. Yeah, not anymore. Nothing. If they follow this. part she'll be giving birth to a little baby boy and naming it Herschel. It will be little too because she's barely showing. He's going to be the size of your fist. Well, there's some babies that small bread.

Don't make fun. Well, yeah, but this one will talk when it comes out. Oh. Did you guys notice I didn't show Judith's face either? Yeah, they did. I didn't see her face. I didn't see her face. Like it looked like to me like they made like an effort to not.

Not to show her. Yeah, like, uh, what's his name? Daryl like picked her up. and purposely I thought showed her face. I was just wondering if they got a new actress for it. Well, that's because we learned that she can't act. She does not want to be there. That's true.

That was very clear. Yeah, you're right. Maybe there is a different actress. It looked like it to me. They may have. Maybe set that up. Maybe. I'm saying a maybe on that one.

Maybe why? Just because I swear they showed her face once. Last night? Yes. Did they? Yes. You sure? I really.

I don't remember. They might have it in the beginning, but it looked like to me they didn't show it. I think it was mostly sticking out in my head because at the very end it seems so obvious. It looked like they were just very well. They're not their way not to show it. Going way out of their way. Oh, and Morgan Carroll and Henry at the hilltop. Yeah.

I like that. I like Morgan lying to the kid just to make, just to make, just to make what's her face happy. You don't remember. It was a long-air guy. Yeah, it was long-air guy. There's the long-haired guy that we all want that. Oh, that's right. That is right.

Okay. He is, boy, he is so hateable. I want him to die. You see how much of a douche is and how he has survived because as soon as Maggie started walking over there. You see him how he turned around and went back over to the. Yeah, I saw that. Back to the back with his head down. Just to become invisible.

Because he knows. He can be dushi as long as they're over there. Uh-huh. But as soon as he wants to be forgotten when they're up close. What's up with this new, like, younger douchy savior guy that's a spokesman? Do you trust him? No, and I think that they're trying to. That's a good question.

You almost do trust him more, but you know that you shouldn't. But why would you let them out in pairs? Why would you let them out at all? I don't. I mean, if you're going to let them out, if you're going to let them out, why let them out in pairs? If you don't let them out, let them out one at a time, put two guards on one guy. You let them out in pairs. is you have a conspiracy going.

That doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense because they're so obviously setting up some kind of insurrection. It was good seeing Gregory again. Yeah. Yeah, he's a quotation. It's kind of like Eugene for me now. You want to see him eating slowly. Yeah, I'm kind of like I get it, but I don't have to get it anymore.

I saw him in a movie the other day. He's a guy that disappears into the part. you did not recognize Xander Berkeley in anything else and you go man I know that face I know that voice where have I seen him before what movie and character was I can't remember now that's he was in Terminator 2 he was he was he was one of the parents of John Conner he gets killed remember he's like the guy just watched that the other day his arm soared through his face and he's like I have to watch Terminator 2 again now he's like so much younger and that the same actor

yeah we all were the Terminator right Remember how much fun shooting that movie was? I was an Arnie. He was just, he was fun. He was a tough of his game. Yeah, he really was. He really was. He was the wife.

He wasn't governor yet. He was still making money. He's still. Good guy. Good guy. He was crap on the set. It was great. You know, grabbing their arms and stuff.

Oh, yeah, he was still doing that. No problem. I don't know what else. It was in Joeville. I don't know what else we have to talk about this week. I'm looking forward to next week. I hope that. I see one of the things I want to talk about is I see that maybe I don't know if we talked about it last week or not but I see now that they've changed the day of fear.

Oh, have they? So originally it was fear was going to be the week after. It was going to be the end of Walking Dead. Right. And then the next week was fear. Right. But they also, now they've doubled it up. So you have the end of Walking Dead right into the season premiere of Fear.

Wow. They're trying everything to keep that show. aren't they? Everything except writing it well. Yes, they are. Well, maybe Morgan being in fear. Well, Morgan will save it this year.

I mean, you're going to watch it. As Steve, a new character. As Steve. And introducing Steve. You know what? When they introduce him as Steve, you're going to be laughing at the inside of your face. And he uses his British accent.

Yes. Oh, that can't possibly be Morgan. He's got a British accent, and his name is Steve. Could happen. And he doesn't carry a sharp stick. He carries an axe. So what are you hoping to have happen? I want to see Simon take Lucille, because I want to see they've got, so far they haven't

topped the head bashing. Yeah, the Glenn and Abraham death scene. That has not been taught because. That was really. I don't know that they want to top it anymore. They don't want to, I don't think. Hey, Max. Why?

Because they took such a hit for being so violent. Yeah, they did. And everybody talked about it. Believe me. I'm with you, but I'm just saying they took such a hit. So violent, they lost, apparently they had lost viewers because of it. Oh, but they, I'm sorry, but they blew that one when they had the pulling out the entrails scene, you know, recently. That was probably.

That's a violent thing I've seen in a while. Yeah, that's true. That was insane. Man, that still did not. Doesn't seem as bad. There's something about it. Yeah, it doesn't seem as bad. That's the whole thing, right?

I mean, you're right. Reaching into someone's gut with a hole from a bullet wood and pulling out of the butt. Yeah. That would be hard to do, too. Yeah. That would be. Look, after you do it, it squeezes through your fingers and stuff. I mean, you've been there, Jason.

You know that. Oh, yeah. We've all been there. Yeah. Except for Max. Right. Give him a couple of years. But the bat hitting the skulls and the faces and the eyes all seem so much worse.

Yeah. Where I'm curious where we're going is I want to ask Max, after the battle at the hilltop with the whole soak the arrows and Walker guts and all. How close are we to endgame from there? End game meaning when Negan gets captured and the whole battle of the savers is over. Pretty close after that one. So, okay. So nothing.

Major happens between those two events. Between them other than Rick getting shot with an arrow, thinking, but it was from Dwight, so it wasn't covering guts. And then Judith sucks on the wound, gets the poison out, and cures him. Licks the wound? Right. That'll be the big plot twist. Yes.

You wish you didn't know that when Carl was done. So we technically could have a battle at the hilltop very soon. And then, like, how many episodes do we have left? We need a battle, right? Because they, and Hilltop is hurting. Well, they got to find a way to get some food. Yeah. They got to find out how many two-by-toes you march them off into the dirt to grow potatoes.

You still got to get food for those people. Oh, you know who else we saw? How many episodes do we have left? This was 11, so you have five or six, right? April, April 15th, I think. Oh, crap. So they could postpone this a little while then. You know who else we saw?

Enid. We did see Ed, but while we saw. saw her was cry with Carl. Yeah. She knows that her traitor ability got Carl killed. I was glad they did it that way, by the way. Me too. It was, no one said anything. It was Bo, voiceover.

Yeah, that was good. Darrell mouthed Carl. Yeah. It was good. Yeah. That was good. So instead, we don't have to have these reactions every single character at different times. Thank you. How did he die? Right. What? How did he die?

What? How did he die? He what? He got paid by what? Why didn't Judith the leech just suck the poison out? You know, it's kind of off topic. She can do that? You guys are really missing out if you don't check out some of these conspiracy theories or like just all these different theories online.

There's like, I'll have to do a call out to some of the ones that I like the most. Max goes down and reads them to me. That's some of our reading in car drives. There's a- There's a I'll do a call out to this one YouTube channel. He's got a pretty good following, but I think it's called the PT channel. If you look out, if you just go into YouTube, you know, by the one. Yeah.

So he does, he does some pretty cool breakdowns. And there was this one where he was talking about the last episode with Jadis and the scavengers. Right. But he was doing this whole big, like grand unifying theory on the use of blue. Did you watch that one, Max? I haven't seen that one. We still haven't figured out why the blue is... The blue paint, but he was going frame by frame, and they used blue symbology throughout the entire episode.

Yeah. Yeah, now I can't, now I'm having a hard time understanding why. But it's true. Like, Jadis was painting that cat in blue. Right. The blue paint that dropped. Then he, like, showed all these, like, pull-out scenes where there was, like, blue, like, like, blankets and blue sheets. It was blue everywhere.

And I was like, probably the color of the paint, Home Depot had on sale. It could have very well been. Yeah, it was something easy as that. But it was just, it was interesting. But it's funny that that's how dedicated the Walking Dead family is. Like, they are so into it. I say they, we are so into it that we break these little things down like that. I find it also nice that we're finding maps now all of a sudden.

Everybody's finding maps. Everybody's trying to follow directions, see where they're at. Why was that map easier to follow than the one that the Rand McNally they had in the Globetbox? I have no idea. He was like, oh, look a map. I was like, you had a map. And you still got a lot. Shut up.

When I was a kid, when I was a kid, I remember camping with my aunt and uncle. And I remember in the campground, them coming through saying a tornado. Is there a tornado warning? You've got to get out of the campground. You've got to just leave everything here, get out. And we got in the car with my aunt and uncle, and we're driving down the road. My aunt's telling my uncle to go down the road. And all of a sudden, she looks at the map and she goes, I've got an upside down.

We're driving into the tornado. Turn around. Turn around. My uncle asked, I thought he was going to expel him. That's why I felt last night with the map. What was wrong with the map? It was just upside down or sideways or crooked or whatever. Or the blind guy was the one trying to read it.

You're a doctor, Doc, maybe you take a look for yourself. How did that not dawn on him? He knows that he's going blind. He's like, oh, what the hell's wrong with you? Can't read a map? I'm blind. I'm blind. I'm going to know this.

And then I saw a sneak peek of next episode where they were all driving. And then it gets into a car chase scene. Between Rick chasing Negan in a car chase. Oh, really? Yes. That ought to be good. Interesting. And Negan has a good taste in cars.

They're all driving trucks. But Negan's the only one by himself in a Dodge Charger. Oh, no product placement there at all. Brought you by Dodge Charger. None at all. That's funny. And then Rick's like driving a van and they're all like, and he's chasing. And then Rick is chasing Negan.

That should be good. Yeah. We'll get some action next to. Where'd they get the gas? That's my question. Oh, yeah. Also, it looks like Simon in that little sneak peek was smirking when Rick crashed into the Negan's car.

That's just way it looks. Yeah, Simon wants to take over now. And he knows that if he's hoping now, he's going to get to the point where Negan dies and he doesn't have to confront Negan with his. A little mistake. Well, I'm sure there's probably a bit more than one mistake. Yeah, like I said, my theory on him with Ocean.

side. Yeah, that's a good theory. By the way, Blue represents trust, dignity, intelligence, and more importantly, authority, according to that theory. Google it. Authority. So maybe it was specifically, it was used between Simon and Jadis. So maybe they're teasing new beginnings for them or something. I'm not sure why Simon was freaked out that was on his shoe when he got back.

It's the thing. It's like, so you got paint on your shoe. Big deal. That is good. I mean, why was he? Didn't you notice how? Yeah. No, but Janus.

Simon, her, Negan knows Jadus bleeds blue. Right. Right. He'll know he's, he's an Endorian. No,

wait, that's Star Trek. Sorry. Yeah, that was kind of weird. We were all freaked out over the blue paint on the shoes. It's like,

yeah, I got blue paint on my shoe. Do you think, you think Negan's going to Lucille, Simon, and not actually just kill him off. Yeah,

so I, It's been a while since he's, I mean, he's had fun. He had fun with the Walker with Lucille. Yeah. But he hasn't necessarily. No, we're going to see, we're going to see Simon take it. She's hungry. She hasn't been in a long time.

Yeah, she's true. Definitely do. We'll see. So my. Next week. We'll see you next week.
