Hello, season 8, episode 12 of the Walking Dead titled The Key. Welcome, me, myself, and I, Jeff Fisher here, joined by my co-host, Brad Staggs, Jason Butchell, and Maximus Fisher. And that makes this Talking Walking Dead. You're going to bring me down. I thought the episode was outstanding with a few holes, and I have the feeling that one of you is just going to bring me down from the episode. No, not.

And you say a word that is a real word. It was just look at you like you're an idiot. That look Georgie gave, I think it was Midge. It was amazing. It was a nice sear-sucker suit. She was, jacket, she was wearing. We're not sure. I mean, we don't know their names, right?

Yeah, we do. He's the president, so she was going to be dressed nice. We know their names. You do? Georgie, Hilda, and Midge. I'm talking about the group. Oh, no. We don't know the group's name.

Who are they? Commonwealth. I know. I saw that theory. I saw that theory. I saw that theory, too. They are the Commonwealth? No, there's a theory that it's the Commonwealth, which is a comic group we just got introduced to.

Ah, okay. Which might mean they're skipping the whispers. I hope not. I really hope not. That would be crazy. But if this isn't the Commonwealth, I'm just calling them the Van Group. The Van Group. That's very nice.

The Vanguard. The Vanguard. You see, that's a word. Yes, I know the Vanguard is a word. I've got albums they can have. She does not accept a spokesperson. Spoken word. No spoken word.

So I guess Metallica or Queen and it won't do. Oh yeah, well, that's music. Well, would rap qualify? Is the spoken? I don't think there's any rap on vinyl. I'm just saying.

I don't know, honestly. I bet you could find some. You could find some. DJ Jazzy Jeff? Come on, I'm sure. Let's go. And why does she only want vinyl and not CDs?

I know. I know. She's doing something with the line. She's a purist for crying out loud. Come on. I think she's 3D printing weapons. She could melt down the vinyl and make it into other stuff. There has to be something because...

Spoken Word has bigger grooves or something and can't be melted right. I think this... We might have found... I mean, there might be a clear link to that, you know, the trash people's helicopter landing pad. And I don't know, like, she's hinting that they have significant technological advances. I mean, with her book she gave to Maggie, a key to a future which we had silos, it was water mills, windmills, aqueducts.

And just think if they have that, like you're not handing your best secrets over to someone that could potentially be a rival and enemy. You're not doing that. So you have the next stage up. You know what I'm saying? So who knows what they have? Well, and if this is the Commonwealth too, I found myself thinking, okay, do you trust them or don't you?

if you have to at some point trust somebody that you come across. Maggie wants to trust them. She wants to trust them. Same with Michon. That's what, you know, that can get you killed. I don't know. Speaking of Michelle, it's time for her to go. She was pretty good in this.

I thought Michelle was okay in this episode. And plus I saw everybody rant and raving about how good she was and how powerful her role was. Well, I did find myself agreeing with her. I agree. I did agree with her. Yeah, with which one? With her wanting to trust in the Carl's speech. Oh, yeah, the Carl speech.

Enid. And she told Enid to back away. Step back. Yeah, that was a good. I'm not really sure Enid was that threatening, but okay. And then step back. Step back. You think it's in your face.

You don't know what, man. She might just lose it. I mean, she had a gun with her too. That's what happens. You don't see even even the Michelle knows that possible traitor is still inside of her. Step back. She gave up the gun. easy.

Step back. This is, I said this is kind of putting holes in your, your traitor theory, but. No, no, no, no, no. Because it's still, it's been quite a while since she's had to see anyone and she's got to live, she still has to live

and survive with this group. Yeah. So, I mean, anytime you're a spy, you've got to be involved deep in it. Don't you know about spying? No. How, how closely are we now following the comics with the,

the abduction of Negan zero okay yeah because Jadis doesn't even exist Jadis doesn't exist in the comics plus this fight oh my gosh this was so good

this fight was amazing okay oh Brasga how and here's where I'm gonna rain on the parade come on when did Rick become the world's worst shot with an automatic rifle

couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. The jacket, Niggins, wears his bulletproof. What about his pistol? What about his pistol? He couldn't hit anything with it either.

He did turn into a Stormtrooper all of a sudden. Yeah. Storm trooper A. I give you that. 40 shots fired and not one of them even nicked Nied. That's because Niggins is elusive.

But we all knew that nothing definitive was going to happen here. It was just so good to see Rick actually going on the offensive. That's why I was nerding out the entire time. And then when Rick,

ran in and Negan swung at him. Oh, yeah, and before that, just like, but the chase, where, like, all of a sudden, it was like, like electric guitar. Yes. It showed, like, wild crazy Rick eyes. I was like, oh, it was so good, man. So what about, uh, their talk they had when they, well, first, Rick throwing the

axe at Negan. Right. And missing. Love the burning. But that was dope too. No, no. No, no, we're not talking. That.

Not yet. Burning Lucille. Oh, my gosh. That was fantastic. That was really cool. Before we get to that, the talk they had when walking around that little maze warehouse. Their little mind fornication. Yeah, it was.

The deal on Negan offered. Oh. Well, yeah. Negan could offer him anything and Rick's not taking it. Yeah. Negan is really good at that, acting at claiming the high ground, whether he has it or not. Yes. Also a little desperation, too, I think.

Yeah. Absolutely. You know, that was like he knew he was screwed. Yeah. I mean, come on. Like, guy comes at you and throws a freaking axe at your head and you barely survive by falling off. Yeah, and especially after dodging. And he said he would lower it from, he said he would lower his take from 50 to 25.

Remember that? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's desperate. He's straight up desperate. And you could hear, there was that theme. There was that with Nigan. There was also that same theme was revisited with, before it was Simon when he was talking to Dwight. Right.

Where he's like, dude, these people don't scare. Our tactics don't work here. Right. They don't work. So we either completely annihilate them or we leave these guys the hell alone because they cray cray. And Megan is figuring that out. And is Dwight going to go along with him? With Simon?

Yeah. No way. No way. You saw the look on his face. You saw the look on his face at the end of the episode. No, because he's finally realizing. They're polar opposites. We knew before because we knew what he did at Garbage Pail Kids.

Right. You can finally found that out too. But. But. But Dwight didn't know that. So when Dwight, you know, when Simon is talking to Dwight a roundabout way of, hey, we need to take over and get rid of Negan and just have us be in charge. Dwight finally realized that. And he was like, you saw the look at his face as, oh boy.

Well, and. Yeah. Because Simon's a big problem. Yeah. And then Negan, during their talk, found out. what happened with the scavengers. Yeah, well, he's not even around now. So, I mean, the whole time that,

tell me, I'm sure I wasn't alone, the whole time that Simon was giving his speech, you expected Negan to walk out of the building. I wanted that so bad. Me too. I wanted that really bad. But before they threw the taken by Jadis, I wanted Negan to come out when Simon was talking.

You knew it wasn't going to be Rick. You knew it wasn't going to be Rick driving that car the way they just started that shot with him hidden. Well, Rick didn't know where he was. Right. But I'm saying you realize somebody's driving the car, but you knew it wasn't Rick just the way they had him hidden behind me. Also, that was so random. Also, Jadis wearing normal clothes and speaking normally.

Well, she said shut up. Yes. And also she started speaking normally. That was still more of a complete sentence than anything they ever said. Well, she started to talk. Ridge pale kids. She started talking normal once everyone died. Yeah. Which leads us all to believe that she's some sort of special agent. Now, by all rights, if this follows any form of logic, Negan should not have Lucille right now.

Because when she found him, however she got him into that car, he was unconscious when we first saw him in the car, right? Yeah. Yeah. She should, if she had a brain and she's apparently has one, she would have picked up Lucille at tossed it off in the bushes. You know, they better show a flashback to how that, what happened. Right, yes. They better. Like, they probably will.

That's usually how these episodes go. But yeah, because that's true. I didn't think about that. He was unconscious, but he... I want to see what... Did he go out a window? He had to run over. Yeah, they jumped out.

He jumped out of the window, but then he ran away. Unless she's standing right there as he jumped out and hit him over the head. But in that case, he would have dropped Lucille. She would have put him in the car. They would have taken off. But if you take Negan,

if you take Negan and your... You have dealt with him before, and he comes around the corner and you, you know, swing a iron rod at him and make him out because he's dazed anyway from jumping out that window. He's just trying to get his bearings. You take Negan. I mean, you take Lucille. Why? Who does? Negan does?

No, Jeter. Why do you take Lucille? Because that's something that you keep his leverage when you have him as a hostage. That is true. Does she know how much it means to him? I don't see why not. She's double-crossed-wricked two or three times, and proof again we should have killed her the damn first time.

It's a lot of forethought and strategy from the leader of the trash people. Yeah. Except she apparently does know how to fly a helicopter. I'll give you that. But I'm just saying that if you putting that aside, putting the forethought aside from the trash people leader. You know, you're in the moment of, of you've decided, is that Rick and Negan fighting?

And did I just see Negan jump out a window and he's dazed running in the city? I'm going to attack him and take him hostage in my car. So you do that. And at the same time, you're thinking, and I'm going to throw Lucille in the trunk. I'll show him. Right? What I want to know is how Lucille looks right now because I want to see how that.

The bat looks now. She's got to be at least a little charred. At least a little charred. I love that fight. I did too. You had the walkers all over the place. It reminded me of like one of those like old like Roman Coliseum fights with

the lions and tigers. Yeah. So you know what I'm saying? And then you're trying to like not get eaten. And then you get said you're going to kill us both. And then just Rick answering as long as it's you first. Yeah. So good.

It was so good because those two were, it was such a good fight of you knew that they didn't care about the walkers. The walkers were, I mean, we're, they didn't care. We're going to beat you. Yeah. The walkers have been, they've been in the dark. They're still dazed and slow walking. You know, the walkers, that's what happens to them, which is strange phenomenon with the walkers, right?

But I mean, when they go in the dark, they just kind of shut down. Uh-huh. This is, you're right. This episode, every time I was, when I, I kept stopping myself and thinking about this, every time I was watching this episode, this is how I wish every single episode. Yes. Yes. They get so caught up and chasing the. secondary plot lines and switching back and forth.

They did that a little bit. But most of it was the main people doing consequential things. That's what we want out of this. This was probably my favorite episode of the entire first half of season. It certainly was better than last week. I didn't mind last week. No, last week was good, too. Not as good as this week.

Oh, yeah. This week was great. Yes, this week was great. So. Don't start. I just I do think I think I think the helicopter is somehow what's the woman's name the Georgie Georgie the helicopter somehow connected to Georgie yeah that's what I said and I think that they are get a Searsucker jacket unless you have a helicopter right but I think that Georgie's working

somehow with Jadis I think that they've been somehow connecting which that's just I'm putting that out there yeah is that in the comic books anywhere no George Georgie doesn't exist in the comics and neither just Jada's. That's what I meant by I think that's why the helicopter is connected to this group or the helicopter pad at the trash place is connected to this group. I remember I remember I said that five minutes ago.

No one heard you say it so it was my theory now. I remember I said when I remember I said the first time we saw the helicopter I said I think that might be along to the scavengers and then you guys were like nah probably not and then when Simon came along and said hey you guys have a helipad that clicked

like ah maybe they maybe it was them I know. Well, I said that I think they probably got a helicopter before we even saw the helicopter. But not. That was weeks before you even thought about it. We're here forever. Hug. Uh-huh. Yeah. So the truth comes out. You got a little thing for watching the two of them hug, huh? I kind of, I, I, don't tell me. He didn't tear up the first time when Daryl came back. Thank you.

Remember that? Yeah. They were escaped and they saw each of the first time. I didn't need to see him hug, though. Apparently you did. I don't know what that says about it. I'm comfortable with that. I'm comfortable with that.

This kind of put tolls in your whole theory. They got a new actor because we see her face and you're like, oh, that's the same person. She received a reprimand and she got a suspension for one episode and they brought her back. She learned her lesson. Judith. They beat her. They apparently did beat her between last time and this time so that she would act correctly. she

I don't learn you you want to act up during a scene again this is what you're going to guess in front of the screen of their eyes taped open looking at the new character

you can be replaced they can digitally replace her face now anyway right so there was also I noticed a story on one of the Walking Dead websites

commenting about Those of you that are going to for sure inevitably ask about Maggie's pregnancy why she doesn't look pregnant. Yeah, you sent that to me. Yeah. Yes, that's because you're welcome. We will. By those of us, you mean talking walking dead, this podcast, yes. How far along is she know?

It's set from 15 months. What they're claiming in the article is that she's still pregnant is just that the events that have taken place have taken place in a short period. of time. Right. Which is true. Like, apparently, like, I read in that where it said a few episodes ago, the last six episodes took place in a day. So, somehow Judith has aged.

Yeah. But it's like a Benjamin Button thing with his pregnancy. She's going the opposite direction. So to answer your question how far along she is, I think she's now negative three months. Yeah. Something like that. Conception hasn't happened now, basically. Glenn never exists.

Before conception phase. Glenn never existed. The world's first 24-month pregnancy. It's really, you know, if they would just date-stamp some of these, that would actually help to follow along the different plot lines, to date-stamp them. Okay, so this happened on Tuesday the 24th? Okay. Which was the same time.

This was happening. Instead, we are left to wonder when the hell everything's happening. You got a point there because it's been kind of confusing in other episodes where you know that they've gone back in time. Before that or after? And we've asked for, you know, it was confusing a little bit with,

we wanted them to kind of break out a map and see, kind of let us know what they were doing. They finally realized that. I don't know how you would date, stamp it. As long as they're going to try to trick us with Morgan, going back to fear. Oh,

can I, can I talk about that really quick? Starring Morgan. I don't know. You can stamp it right, unless you do like Tuesday. Yeah. Right.

August 21st. Whatever. You don't have to year it, but it's the, you'd have to do something. Anyway, about the whole Morgan thing. Well, I'm just saying like the promo pictures and the, and the videos they've been releasing, looks dang good. I know. Like, dang good.

Like that cowboy? I said he's going to save the show. He's going to save the series. Did you see that cowboy that they had? No. Like, that looked dope, man. They have like a cowboy with like a six shooter and a cowboy hat. I'm assuming they're shooting everything down in Texas.

Yeah, there. But that is kind of, it is. sounded cool. We'll see what happens. Now, they're also, you know, they've got the big premiere night at AMC theaters. April 15th. Oh, yeah. They're going to broadcast the final.

Season finale and the premiere of fear. I don't know. We're going to try to get, we're going to try to do one and record some stuff at one of them if AMC will. If we can figure out how we can all three sneak in. Because I don't want to be the last thing I want to do is break any rules. Right. Wait, so when is this? April 15th, 2018.

Wow, so we still have, how many episodes do we have? We're on 12, and I think it usually ends on 16. Yeah, so that's be right. We've got three or four weeks left. Okay. Yeah, that's good. It feels like it's a lot further along in the season. It sure does.

Like, I don't know how, like, I hope they're not blowing everything now because there's so much stuff going on. I mean, how far past the Hilltop battle can we go in this season? One thing I'm excited for is the final fight with Rick and Neakin. So, Max, so how long after the Hilltop fight does this all end? Not long. Was there just one comic episode after that that it was done? After the Hilltop fight, well, actually, the fight that are talking about where they use the guts actually happens in Alexandria in the comics, not Hilltop.

Yeah. But we'll just call it. that in the comics after that it's about a cup battle maybe a couple days later once it ends wow who did the who did the whispers kill who who what main character did the whispers end up killing uh in the comic they kill rosita no so i'm wondering no i mean no there's more though no there's more there's more there's more they kill the main two i could think of right now they kill Rosita and they kill and they kill and they kill Ezekiel. And it's Ezekiel.

That's what I was thinking of. So they technically could off them. I predict that Jadis is going to end up killing Negan. That's where they're going to. If they choose to kill him. They're going to, yeah. Better not. No, I don't want, I'm with you.

I don't want them to kill him. Better not. He's got other things to do. And he has to die for the TV audience. Yes. And Rick has to be, Rick or Maggie has to be the one that does it. Preferably both of them at the same time, maybe. And Morgan has got to Richard Dean Morgan.

Richard Dean Morgan. Jeffrey, Jeffrey, I always get him and Richard Dean Anderson, who was McGiver. Jeffrey Dean Morgan? Right. And Richard Dean Anderson. He's not McGiver, by the way, so. Well, he kind of is MacGyver-esque. He can do anything with that back.

I want him to live. I want him to live. Max doesn't even know who McGiver is. I know. It's sad, really. You should teach this kid more things. Anything with chocolate barn and crescent ranch. Duktape.

Negan is going to die, and I think Jadis is going to do it. I hope Negan doesn't die. Piss me off. Yeah, me too. Hardcore. I remember. I said it first. Cross my fingers.

To us, we realized what he was doing. And Dwight was catching up. Dwight's not sure if he's messing with him. Right. Dwight's not sure if it's a test. Until the end of the episode where he figured out, oh. Well, it's not a test. Yes.

He's just crazy and wants to take it all over. Yeah. And that's what was so disappointing about that entire segment is that Simon didn't, or that Negan didn't show up. we had to have him show up with Jadis Simon I'll be pissed Jadis kills Nagan Simon is the new

Wait, that's Simon? He was in a Westworld Okay Yeah which is still being filmed Brad Something else you got to say now? Yeah. He's going to be the new Negan and Jadis is killing Negan. What about Dwight? I'm going to be. Dwight is who has been on who has been from Simon's perspective of both sides of the iron which is true. Something happened interesting with Dwight and maybe I'm reading too much into

this but Negan go he was telling him to get ready remember when they had their little face to face. Yeah I remember that and he goes so put on your best put on your vest and they made like a very yeah they made a specific case to put your vest on yes and come out you know and blah blah blah he doesn't have his vest. He doesn't have it. So I'm wondering if Negan will notice that and then see that Daryl's got his vest back again. And Dwight, that doesn't jive with his story. It doesn't matter because I was like maybe they're queuing that up a little bit.

That's all right. Negan is going to be dead. Plus, that's going to be secondary now because he found out from Rick that Simon killed the garbage people. Yes. So, Dwight's, his problems with Dwight are secondary to wanting to have Simon's, uh, be made an example of. And then we'll get to Dwight.

By that time, it'll be too late. I don't know where the heck they're going with this Jaydison. I know. I don't know where they're going. I've already explained it to you at flibbersdicki.com. There is no way. If that happens. There's no way they let Jadis kill Niggins.

Wow. And take that from us? No way. If Negan does survive. I will take flibbergassy.com. If Niggins. If Negan does survive, how do you want things to go? If Negan does survive, how do you want things to go?

What, indefinitely? Survives indefinitely? Or just this encounter with Jadis? No, like to the end of the season. Oh, he'll die at the end of the season or the beginning of next season. No, what I'm saying is if he survives. He's not going to. His head's going to be on a pike and Jadis is going to be carrying the pike.

I'm sick of hearing that. This has been talking walking dead. I can't listen to any more of you.
