Starting point is 00:00:40 Australians beginning today. Today is the 26th of August 24, for those of you listening live, Australians now have the right to turn off work notifications. Yeah, it's the new right to disconnect. law that aims to restore boundaries between work and life after the pandemic kind of smushed them together. Now bosses can still message workers at any time and the employees can no longer be punished for failing to read or respond to the messages outside of work hours. Except if such refusal is unreasonable. Wait, what? Yeah. According to the law, workers are protected unless such refusal is unreasonable. So I guess, is there a legal definition of a reasonable? Okay. But I guess there's two dozen other countries trying to give their employees some cover to have a life.
Starting point is 00:01:53 How about you just talk to your boss and say, hey, when I live, you know, when I live, you're leave here, I'm going to not answer any of my messages. In fact, I'll just, I'll be, I'll be away from the office until, you know, tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. or whatever the deal, whatever you work out between you and your boss. So that whenever you do leave, then you don't have to answer any messages in that time frame with the deal that you've made with your boss. Is that too much, to ask for you to work out what you're going to do for your job with your boss? No, no, it is not. You need to have the right to disconnect unless it's unreasonable.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Okay, well, anyway, good news for Australia, right? Because now they have the right to disconnect, as long as it's not unreasonable. Welcome. Welcome to chewing the fat. Do you have a tat yet? Are you ready for more tats? Or do you want that first tat? Well, according to a new Pew Research Center survey,
Starting point is 00:03:14 32% of adults, these are American adults, have a tattoo, including 22% who have more than one. Women, 38%, have at least one tattoo compared with 27% of them. men. This includes 56% of women ages 18 to 29 and 53% of women ages 30 to 49. 39% of black Americans have a tattoo compared to 35% of Hispanic, 32% of white, 14% of Asian Americans. Adults under the age of 50 are especially likely to have a tattoo. Some 41% of those under 30 have at least one, as do 46% of those ages 30 to 49. Well, I would have bet. over 50% of the under 30, but nope.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Let's see. This compares with a quarter of adults ages 50 to 64 and 13% of those 65 and older. As far as education goes, 37% of those with some college or less education have a tattoo compared with 24% of those with a bachelor's degree and 21% of those with a postgraduate a degree. The smarter you get, the less you want a tattoo, okay? Income, 43% of lower income adults have a tattoo compared with 31% of those in middle income households and 21% of those in upper income households. The more money you make, the less you want a tattoo.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Religion, 41% of religiously unaffiliated adults, adults have at least one tattoo compared with 29% of those affiliated with religion. Wow. Around half of lesbian, gay, or bisexual Americans, 51% have at least one tattoo. The shares especially high among women in this group, 68% are tattooed, including 55% who have more than one tattoo. By comparison, 31% of straight Americans have at least one tattoo.
Starting point is 00:05:30 So are you all tatted up? You ready to go? My first father-in-law was in the Navy for many, many years, and he was tatted up from his wrists all the way, you know, his whole body and his legs down to, you know, just above his ankles. And he always regretted it. He always wore long-sleeved shirts and long pants. And, you know, it was really strange to see him in a t-shirt or, you know, shorts or whatever, like, holy crap.
Starting point is 00:06:05 He just thought, he felt it was stupid in the end. I don't know that I agree with that. I mean, some of those tats were really cool, and he got them from around the world. But he was ashamed of them. Because he went into business. He went to work for, who was he working for? Was it Motorola, I think.
Starting point is 00:06:26 And he was, you know, one of the bosses, one of the management teams. and he just felt like it wasn't very businesslike. I don't know. Maybe he was just, you know, before his time. So the most common-sighted reason for getting a tattoo is to honor or remember someone or something. 69% of tattooed adults say this is either a major or minor reason they got any of their tattoos.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Just under half, 47% say they got a tattoo to make a statement about what they believe and 32% say they got at least one to improve their personal appearance. Yeah, I'm going to look hot with this banana on my arm. I mean, I always made the joke that I wanted the tat of the hands coming out of my rear end. I don't know who all would actually see that, but, you know, it's just a joke, okay? I'm not all tatted up. I don't have a problem with tattoos. In fact, my wife has multiple tattoos, so it's okay.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Most tattooed Americans do not regret getting a tattoo, but about a quarter, 24%, say they ever regret getting one or more of their tattoos. Wow. So 24% say they ever regret getting one or more of their tattoos. Kind of weird. Three in ten tattooed Hispanic adults report. regretting any of their tattoos compared with 23% of
Starting point is 00:08:00 white adults and 21% of black adults. Okay. This is according to a Pew Research study on tattoos among untattooed Americans, younger adults are more likely than older adults to say they are extremely
Starting point is 00:08:16 or very likely to get a tattoo in the future. Well, duh. Yeah, if you haven't gotten a tattoo by the time you're an older adult, probably not going to get one. Adults without tattoos in lower and middle income households are also more likely than those in upper income households to say they are extremely are very likely to get one.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Yeah, of course. And eight in ten Americans say society has become more accepting of people with tattoos. Well, yeah, because they seem, and they're not, obviously, but they seem to be everywhere. And it's just a tattoo. I mean, where most people, I'm guessing, have a problem is when you, you know, tat your face and attach your hands. See, that's the thing, right? If you get tats where you can cover it up, you're not ashamed of your tats, but you can go into, you know, society and not look like you're all tatted up. You can, in a polite society, you can be out in the world and not look like you're all tatted up.
Starting point is 00:09:24 and yet you still can be and the secret is just yours yeah i'm talking to polite society right now but i am really a tatted up monster so that's good i don't know that uh we need any rules or laws about tattoos there australia uh you know maybe we need the uh you know the right to tattoo uh but uh i don't think you i don't think we need to do that uh because uh Just go ahead and get yourself tatted up. Interesting also that Americans without tattoos, 40% of those ages 65 and older, saying seeing someone with a tattoo gives them a more negative
Starting point is 00:10:12 than positive impression of that person. Yeah, so we don't like you. I'm an old man and I don't like, ooh, that means that you have tats. Oh, yeah, I don't like you. Wow, that's a lot. I'd like to see if that number has changed gone down because it would seem to me that that number had to have gone down
Starting point is 00:10:34 over the last, I don't know, 10, 20 years, right? Maybe 25 years. Had to have gone way down because we're more accepting, and who cares? He's got a tattoo, big deal. Move on. And whether you have a tat or not, a bird flu could get you.
Starting point is 00:10:50 I know. Sorry about that, but bird flu is indiscriminate. that way. It doesn't matter. TAT or no tat. And there are new cases of it popping up right now. So you ought to be prepared for it. TAT or no tat. And there's something you can do to ensure that you and your loved ones have medication on hand when it's needed. It's called the Jace case. Starting point is 00:13:44 And I'll get to them. I'll get to them. Don't worry. Even if I don't reply, I do see them. So thank you very much. Big weekend at the movie theaters. I was really surprised that Deadpool and Wolverine back to number one, baby. I know.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Alien Romulus was the big movie last. week and it dropped to number two so i mean i get still doing good it's had a 225.4 million global run but uh holy cow number two 16.2 million for its second week here in the u.s i don't know that that bodes well for the movie and deadpool uh and we'll be dead i'm sorry deadpool and wolverine 18.3 million domestic which gets their total to um 577 point two million domestic and 1.21 billion global. So it's pretty good. And then, of course, Blake's movie is number three.
Starting point is 00:14:43 It ends with us. That's now Blake's highest grossing movie domestically with 120.8 million domestic, 242.6 global. So times are good at the Ryan, the Ryan Reynolds, Blake lively household. Times are good. And then a blink twice, which was supposed to. be bigger than this. Blinked twice, Zoe Kravitz's directoral debut. It was supposed to be so
Starting point is 00:15:12 great. Only ended up number four, 7.3 million. So we'll see. And then there's the faith-based drama. Forge, which ended up number fifth with 6.6 million. Twisters still hanging in there. 6.2 million domestic weekend at number six, 248.6 million domestic total for Twisters. That's still good. Coraline, re-release.
Starting point is 00:15:39 She's another 4.9 million. Released total. Yeah, we'll see. The Crow, which was what's open this weekend. That was supposed to be so great. I guess in eighth place, in 4.6 million, that would be considered not good
Starting point is 00:15:53 for the opening week of the Crow. A despicable will be four still hanging in there with Wow, at number nine. That's got 885.4 million global. And inside out two is still hanging in there at number 10 with another couple million this weekend, which pushed its global total to $1.649 billion.
Starting point is 00:16:19 The first animated film ever to cross a billion dollars internationally. Wow. And today is the last day. Boy, August 26th. uh, 2024 big day. Uh, today is the final day for voting in the Emmys.
Starting point is 00:16:37 So cast your final ballots. Get that. And if you have, uh, Emmy voting rights, get to voting. Nominations, I guess,
Starting point is 00:16:47 uh, have dropped. Submissions have dropped 33% this year. Ooh, that's, uh, that's not good. So if you're able to vote,
Starting point is 00:16:55 how about you vote? Uh, we'll see the, uh, the, uh, Emmy Awards are September 15th, the 75th. Emmy Awards are September 15th. So we'll see if, you know,
Starting point is 00:17:07 the bear and Jeremy Allen White do well. I know that we have, what's her faces, only murders in the building. That should be big winners on this as well. And their new season starts tomorrow on Hulu and Disney Plus. Martin,
Starting point is 00:17:27 Steve Martin, Martin, shorts, Selena Gomez, Merrill Streep again, as we talked about. I saw them all at the premiere at Paramount Studios. They were all in L.A. on Thursday. And so it returns tomorrow on Hulu and Disney Plus. And this season, you know, the gang's podcast is being adapted into a movie. They have some other big stars playing themselves because the trio goes to Hollywood. And so we'll have all kinds of other stuff.
Starting point is 00:17:58 We've got, of course, you know, you have Steve Martin, Martin Charts, Selena Gomez, Merrill Streep, Zach Gilafinacchus, Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, who is going to be one of the hosts of the Emmy Awards, all part of the new season of only murders in the building. The first three seasons were really good, even, you know, putting aside that Merrill Streep was in the last season. And so they're milking her for another season. And we'll see how it turns out.
Starting point is 00:18:27 The first two seasons were all. awesome. And the third season again was fine, even though it was, you know, Merrill Street. And so we'll see how they, how they do here in season four starting tomorrow. And nothing special either. It's 10 weeks, it's 10 episodes, one show a week. Can we have like a couple at the beginning and a couple at the end just to make us feel good like you're actually throwing us a bone that you're not a regular television show? And we can give you a couple of the first week and we can end it with the last two. and then you get one a week in the middle. Nope, once a week and you'll like it. All right, let's go to the break room.
Starting point is 00:19:04 I need something cold to drink desperately. So McDonald's is gearing up to introduce the Big Arch, which is a hefty burger weighing in at 14 ounces and packing 1,025 calories. This marks the chain's first major global, launch since chicken mcduggets were added to the permanent menu in 1983. It's a quintessential McDonald's burger with a twist on our iconic familiar flavors. That's McDonald's president's CEO, Chris Kamesinski, had a big Wall Street call,
Starting point is 00:19:50 and he's letting everyone know that the Big Arch features two patties, melted cheese, crispy toppings, and a tangy McDonald's sauce. currently is available only in Portugal and Canada. But it's planned to roll out in Germany at the end of this month, which is where we're at. And the introduction comes as McDonald's faces a dip in global sales. Yeah, because they need to lower their prices is what needs to happen. So I don't think that the big arch is coming to the U.S. soon. It does not give a date.
Starting point is 00:20:29 for the for the big arch coming to the united states so those of you in portugal canada and germany how lucky are you to be able to get the big arch huh i know pretty special pretty special and speaking of fast food i don't know how long it's going to last or if it's going to grow any bigger than it already is but in texas sonic is now going to have pickleball courts. The new East Texas Sonic Drive-in includes three dedicated pickleball courts
Starting point is 00:21:07 that can be reserved using the Sonic app. The location will also have a giant playground so you can bring your kiddos out. Let them play and enjoy the freshest cherry lime aid you've ever had. It is the first Sonic to feature pickleball courts.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Now you can go to the kitchen pickleball Instagram account and you can see the largest pickleball community. The kitchen pickleball is the largest pickleball community in the world.
Starting point is 00:21:45 But that's not where I can't. I have to go to the Sonic app for that, right? For the reservation. Yeah, they're just driving you to the pickleball world. Go to the kitchen pickleball world. Go to the kitchen pickle
Starting point is 00:21:59 dot com or you know they're at the kitchen pickle on instagram now according to these stories this should have already uh they're going it should be open now uh they announced it i don't know a year ago and i have not seen a story that it's actually open yet so i don't know if those in canton texas are all excited for the new pickleball sonic franchise uh if it hasn't opened yet It was all just a big promotion, but I know that everybody was excited to have this upgrade in their community, but I don't know that it's open yet. If you live in Canton, Texas, and listen to Chewing the Fat, email me, chewing the fat at theblaze.com. I'd like to know if you actually play pickleball or drive by the Sonic there and watch people from Canton playing pickleball with their kiddos in the playground,
Starting point is 00:22:53 getting the you know getting cold drinks or a nice cold chocolate shake and then having a big old sweaty game of pickleball you know speaking of fast food restaurants and I don't know I guess Starbucks is considered one I don't know why they're just a coffee shop that's you know everywhere
Starting point is 00:23:13 but if you have a Starbucks gift card I would go ahead and use that bad boy that's money that Starbucks is just using it's like free money for Starbucks Starbucks, according to this, had currently $1.77 billion in unredeemed gift cards. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:35 So they just get that money. That's free money for them. The phenomenon is known as breakage. All right? These funds from the gift cards that are never redeemed. Starbucks reported $1.961 million in breakage revenue from its company-operated stores with additional $18.9 million from license stores.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Although most Starbucks gift cards don't expire, the company recognizes breakage revenue because the majority of cards are redeemed within a year. So if you get a gift card and you haven't used it all in a year, whatever's left on that card you probably aren't going to use, whether you lost it or it's gone. I mean, that's a lot of money. that is a lot of free money.
Starting point is 00:24:25 That's like these companies that want you to pay your bills early. You know, they want you to pay early because if it's not due until a certain date, your money isn't going to be going into your account until that due date. They just are able to use your money to make more money for free. And I don't like it. I don't like it at all. If it was my company, I would be doing that. But I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:24:50 That's a lot of money. Just sitting there doing nothing with Starbucks gift cards. Wow. And I will say this. I believe I've used every cent of my Starbucks gift cards that I've received over the years. Between my daughter and my wife and me using them. You know, you just, if you have money left on the card, you use it and then pay the difference. Right.
Starting point is 00:25:14 I mean, you're going to use it all. You've got to use it all. Don't. Don't let Starbucks have that money. Oh, and I should say congratulations to Hale. and Justin Bieber. They have just welcomed their new baby boy, the first child, brought the child home, and they posted on Instagram, welcome home.
Starting point is 00:25:37 And there's a picture of the foot, the child's foot. And I'm guessing that's Haley's hand holding the foot in the picture with Justin's post. Welcome home to Jack Blues. Beber. That is the name of their new child. Jack Blues Beber. So welcome to the world, Jack Blues, Bieber. And congratulations to Justin and Haley for having a beautiful baby boy. Jack, well, I don't know it's a beautiful baby boy. I just know that the foot looks like it should be a beautiful baby boy. Jack Blues Beaver. So congratulations. With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too.
Starting point is 00:26:46 That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. So we got news. We've talked about the island, the remote South African island, that is being inundated by mice, and the mice are starting to eat the birds on the island. and they didn't know what to do. You know, we can't have anything happen to the iconic wandering albatross. I mean, the quarter of the world's population
Starting point is 00:27:14 nesting in the Indian Ocean Island. And mice now, for the first time last year, I remember talking about this, have been found to be feeding on the wandering albatrosses. The birds just, I guess, are dumb, and the mice just show up and climb up on the birds and start eating them. They've got images of bloodied birds
Starting point is 00:27:36 and flesh truned to their heads. It's not funny. It's not funny at all. 29 species of seabirds that breed on the island. 19 are threatened with local extension. So they have this mouse-free Marion project that they're still raising money for.
Starting point is 00:27:55 I guess they've raised about a quarter of the 29 million. It needs to send a squad of helicopters. in because they've decided that what we're going to do is we're going to drop 600 tons of rodentside-laced pellets onto the rugged island. And we're going to do that in the winter of 2027 when the mice are most hungry and the summer breeding birds are largely absent. So the pilots will have to fly in extreme conditions and reach every part of the island.
Starting point is 00:28:32 which is about 25 kilometers long and 17 kilometers wide. No idea how big or long that is. We have to get rid of every last mouse. If there was a male and female remaining, they could breed and eventually get back to where we are now. Yeah. No kidding. I love the mice just climb onto them
Starting point is 00:28:58 and just slowly eat them until they succumb. I mean, are the birds dumb? I guess, well, they have never had a terrestrial predator before, so they don't know what to do. I don't know, get away from something that's chewing on you? How about that? I mean, why are we even saving these birds if they're too dumb to go away from mice eating them? Anyway, the island was introduced to mice around the early 1800s.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Then they brought in cats. in the 1940s to control their numbers. And then the cats grew to about, you know, 2000. They were killing birds every. They brought in mice. And then they brought in cats. And then the cat started killing the birds. So we had to get rid of the cats.
Starting point is 00:29:54 And now an eradication project removed the last cat in 1991. But they forgot about the two. mice that were happy taking care of a little business and the other side of the island and now they're eating all the birds so hopefully they get their money and the Marion Island nesting will be back
Starting point is 00:30:18 to saving the wandering albatrosses and the other breeds that are on the island because we can't have the mice just wandering around the island eating the birds so good luck to the mouth free Marion project. And luck, I hope you save the stupid wandering albatrosses that don't know how to save themselves
Starting point is 00:30:41 when they're getting eaten by mice. Speaking of dumb animals, I see we're English singer Lily Allen, and she's not the dumb animal, but, you know, if you think that, you know, that's on you, not me. She was on some podcast. I think it's her podcast called Miss Me. and she was talking about how she adopted a puppy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting point is 00:31:07 And she said we got rid of it because the dog ate her family's passports. And she said that the family are now considering a Chihuahua mixed puppy and potentially naming it Jude Bellingham after the British Real Madrid Soccery. star but she cautioned that getting a dog with her husband stranger thing stars david harbour is a hell of a commitment you know why we actually did adopt a dog together already but then i it ate my passport and so i took it back to her home uh the pup ate her passport as well as those of her two daughters ethel 12 and mahony 11 who she shares with her ex-husband sam cooper she ate all three of our passports and they had our visas in and I cannot tell you how much money it cost me to get everything
Starting point is 00:32:03 replaced because it was in COVID and so it was just absolutely a logistical nightmare. I know it puts you through such hell. The kids couldn't see their dad for like four or five months because of this effing dog. I just couldn't look at her. I was like you've ruined my life. So they shipped her back to her home. This is why dogs get sent to the the gravel pit, the South Dakota gravel pit. At least Lily Allen talking on the Miss Me podcast, which she co-hosts with
Starting point is 00:32:39 a Welsh TV presenter, Steve Jones, that she didn't take the dog to the gravel pit. And I wouldn't have blamed her if she did, but she just sent it back home, which I assume then it can't get adopted again, so it probably ended up at the you know, adopt a dog gravel pit. So good luck, God bless.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Getting another dog. And when you do, man, you better hope that dog is hop to it, man. Because have a nice day. If you want anything to do with... Don't, if you're a dog, don't go to Lily Allen's place. Don't do it. Save yourself. Boarding for flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes. What?
Starting point is 00:33:38 What? Sounds like Ojo time. Play Ojo? Great idea. Feel the fun with all the latest slots in live casino games and with no wagering requirements. What you win is yours to keep groovy. Hey, I won! Feel the fun!
Starting point is 00:33:52 We'll begin when passenger Fisher is done celebrating. 19 plus Ontario only. Please play responsibly. Concerned by your gambling or that if someone close, you call 1-8665-3-1-2-60 or visit comexonterio.ca. So we found out this weekend, thanks to a press conference from NASA, They held a press conference without Boeing, by the way. My joke is actually becoming true. I mean, it actually is true now.
Starting point is 00:34:20 You know, before we thought it was going to be true, it is now actually true. SpaceX will rescue the Boeing Starliner astronauts, which good. I'm happy that he's going to, you know, SpaceX is going to do that. And I say Elon SpaceX. I'm happy that the, you know, the space company is going to do that. I don't want them stuck up there in perpetuity. But the astronauts Wilmore and Sonny Williams will wait for SpaceX next taxi flight. It's due to launch in late September.
Starting point is 00:34:50 And the two astronauts instead of the usual four, NASA's Yankeying 2 to make room for the two test pilots, on the return flight in late February. So they're going to have to be up there until February. And there's an issue with the suit. So hopefully SpaceX is going to send them up a suit that they can, fit into that will get them able to come back home in the SpaceX rocket. Now, they said that the empty Starliner capsule will on dock in early September and attempt to return on autopilot with a touchdown in New Mexico desert.
Starting point is 00:35:24 But they were having problems with that because they didn't have the software to undock it without an actual human or robot into the in the capsule. So hopefully I guess that they didn't say, but I guess that the software will be uploaded. loaded in early September, and then it will be able to undock without a human in the Starliner capsule. Now, they also said that they gave no serious consideration to asking SpaceX for a quick standalone rescue. That's interesting.
Starting point is 00:35:57 Because I would have thought they would have at least, you know, given that some serious consideration. But nope, not according to NASA. It probably cost too much money. Elon said, yeah, we can do that, but it's going to cost you a lot of money. So we're going to go up in September. Why don't you? I'll hold back.
Starting point is 00:36:14 In fact, because that flight was supposed to go up this month, and then we'll push it back, and then we'll bring them back in September, okay? Okay. Okay. Good. Who's a cute little space company that thinks they can do the work of SpaceX? You are? Remember, because last year the Russian space agency had to rush up a replacement,
Starting point is 00:36:31 Soyuz capsule for the three men whose original craft was damaged by space junk. and that switch pushed their that switch pushed the six-month mission to just over a year and uh you know NASA of course uh was did their press conference without Boeing but Boeing released their statement that they were we're continuing to focus first and foremost on safety and the crew of the spacecraft and the company said is preparing the spacecraft for a safe and successful return okay okay good for you are you though and I know SpaceX is targeting tomorrow for the launch of a polar Laris Dawn. It's going to send four people to orbit for five days aboard the crew dragon capsule. It will get farther from Earth than any human since Apollo. And the two of them will perform the
Starting point is 00:37:18 first spacewalk ever conducted by a private mission. Yes. And we'll be able to watch the extra vehicular activity alive. So the EVA will extra vehicular activity will feature two of the four crew members, commander Jared Isaacman, the billionaire tech entrepreneur who funded and organized Polaris Dawn and the mission specialist Sarah Gillis and engineer at SpaceX. The other two astronauts, Anna Menon is a SpaceX engineer and pilot Scott Kidd, a former Scott Kidd Poteet, former lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force, will down the EVA suits as well because the crew dragon doesn't have an airlock so the capsule interior will be exposed to the vacuum. of space.
Starting point is 00:38:04 So two will do the spacewalk, but they're all going to be forced into the actual space suits because of no airlock. Wow. So the actual spacewalking will compromise about a third of that time. Isaacman and Gillis will spacewalk not together, and each will likely spend about 15 to 20 minutes outside the capsule. And then Polaris Dawn has three planned future missions in the Polaris program, which Isam is organizing and fun.
Starting point is 00:38:33 If it all goes according to plan, the third Polaris flight will be the first ever crude mission of Starship, which is the enormous vehicle that SpaceX is developing to help humanity settle the moon and Mars. So we'll see if that actually happens. So now, remember on Friday we talked about the maker of the ship that was sunk and people lost their lives from the billionaire, killing a British tech mogul Mike Lynch and six others. One was his daughter. Remember, and they said initially that it was a tornado or water spout at sea. And if the ship's hatches were left open, something they have yet to confirm,
Starting point is 00:39:16 would explain why the super yacht sank so quickly. And now the prosecutor in Italy is like, hey, we're evaluating all the facts. to see whose behavior fault can be assigned. But we believe that it wasn't a sudden storm that caused the vessel to sink off the coast of Sicily. Wait, what? Yeah, it was the result of actions by the crew. Wow.
Starting point is 00:39:49 So that's why on Friday that the maker of the ship was like, hey, that ship shouldn't have sunk. It wasn't my fault. It wasn't on me. That's why he was placing the blame somewhere else. Not on me. Hey, prosecutor, Ambrosio Cartoso. Is it Cortosio?
Starting point is 00:40:11 Amrogio Cartosio. Go look someplace else. Don't look at me. So we'll see. Wow, that's ongoing case. That's interesting that they don't think that's what caused the vessel to sink. Interesting. I mean, did it get hit by a tornado or a water spout?
Starting point is 00:40:29 and then because of the actions of the crew, that's why it's, I guess that's what they're saying. Yeah, even if it got hit by the water spout, it shouldn't have sunk. Because that's what the shipbuilder was saying. The guy that built the ship was saying that it shouldn't have sank. So the actions of the crew made it sink, which is weird because he'd think they would be, you know,
Starting point is 00:40:55 ready and taking action to keep it from, thinking, wouldn't you? Well, that's where the prosecutor comes in, Jeff, and he's saying that we're going to find out what's behind it. Okay, let's go. Let's find out. Somebody is going to owe somebody a lot of money. All right, so this is
Starting point is 00:41:15 the joke or thought of the day, because I read this this weekend. I thought that's a good analogy, and I need to share this analogy with you, the chewing the fat list Friends are like underpants. Some crawl up your ass.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Some snap under pressure. Some don't have the strength to hold you up. Some get a little twisted. Some support you. Some are your favorite. Some are cheap and just get bent out of shape. And actually, some cover your ass when you need them too. Think about it.
