Starting point is 00:00:00 When I got a great deal on a great gift at Winners, I started wondering, could I get fabulous gifts for everyone on my list? Like this designer fragrance for my daughter. At just $39.99, how could I resist? This luxurious will throw for my sister. This gold watch for my partner? A wooden puzzle for my niece? Leather gloves for my boss?
Starting point is 00:00:19 Ooh, European chocolate for the crossing guard? At these prices, could I find something for everyone at Winners? Stop wondering. Start gifting. Winners, find fabulous for less. Blaze Radio Network And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. How many times have you dug through all the crap that you've got in your house, you know, stuffed away in your garage, stuffed away in your attic,
Starting point is 00:00:45 stuffed away in your closets, and you think, ah, it'll be worth something someday. Well, this person found a first-generation 4GB Apple iPhone still in the box. exceedingly rare, according to all reports. The Apple iPhone first announced on January 9th, 2007. Obviously, it's considered this groundbreaking invention of the 21st century. And the first public phone was the 4GB version, and it sold for $499, and the 8GB version sold for $599. Most customers opted for the $599.
Starting point is 00:01:26 version. So the 4GB version, two months later, we pulled the plug on literally and stopped making them. So it's the first generation iPhone, the first generation 4GB Apple iPhone. Apparently it was tucked away on a shelf in someone's home. And now the auction company wants to put it on the market, and they have. So it's a sealed 4GB first generation iPhone comes, we don't know who owns it. It was a client of this Grogan and company. And it's been tucked away since 2007, according to them. And you can start your bids for this particular, still in the box, for $10,000 or more. Let's see if we place a bid.
Starting point is 00:02:22 After we jump through all these hoops to get inside the web, website. Let's see, the buyer's premium is $3,300. So the maximum bid $10,000. So the subtotal is $13,300. And I have to jump through a bunch more hoops to find out. I'm not going to place a bid on this product. So I'm going to stop going through these hoops to get inside the website because I'm not placing a bid on this thing and I don't want them to think that I am. so they are going to incrementally post for your purchase. So I'm sure it's more than $10,000 now or more than $13,300 because you have to pay the buyers premium. But if you've got one of these stuck away on your shelf or another item that you think, you know, this could be worth some money.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Maybe now is the time to pull it out because this has been tucked away on a shelf since 2007. and they're asking for at least $10,000 for it, and they'll probably get more. So start digging and start paying attention to what you've got because you just might have an exceedingly rare first generation 4G Apple iPhone. Or another item that's worth a lot more, and that would be kind of cool. Welcome.
Starting point is 00:03:48 A lot of people call that hoarding. Welcome. Welcome to chewing the fat. Plenty of crime happening around the country. Well, always, there's always plenty of crime happening around the country. But this story I found fascinating. A Connecticut couple is accused of stealing around $1 million worth of merchandise from Lulu Lemon. So you're wondering why, hey, how come my Lulu Lemon merchandise costs so much?
Starting point is 00:04:17 This is why. This is why. Jaden Richards, 44, and Aquelli Laws Richards, 45, were arrested at a Lulu Lemon store. in Woodbury, Minnesota and charged with organized retail theft. According to the complaint, the couple had visited another Lulu Lemon location in Roseville, Mississippi, Minnesota, the day before with an unidentified man where they allegedly stole almost $5,000 worth of items. Wow. Okay, so an investigator for Lulu Lemon. What do you do for a living? I'm an investigator for Lulu Lemon. Llemon security advisor. So the investigator for Lulu Lemon said the couple,
Starting point is 00:04:56 and the organized crime group they worked for had been stealing from stores across the country since September and are responsible for nearly $1 million worth of financial loss for the company. The investigator explained how the couple ran their theft scheme with Richards typically entering the store first and purchasing a couple of small items. Then Richards and Laws Richards would then remove a security sensor from another item in the store, and they'd attach it to the small items Richard purchased,
Starting point is 00:05:32 then steal the other items that they'd conceal under their clothes and jackets. Laws Richards and a third person would walk out of the store ahead of Richards with the stolen items. When security sensor at the store would beep, Richards would offer his bag that contained the small purchased item with the sensor attached to it to the staff. The couple will then take the other stolen items to another store to exchange them without a receipt. I mean, they could have just been selling them online, too, but why go back and get your money back from Lulu Lemon?
Starting point is 00:06:05 But that's what they were doing. So they obtained a search warrant for the room that they had rented at the J.W. Marriott in Bloomington, Minnesota. And I love the J.W. Marriott in Bloomington, Minnesota. When they searched the room, they found suitcases containing an estimated $50,000 worth of Lulu Lemon clothing in the room. So they were both booked and then they're out on bail. Laws Richards was released on $30,000 bail,
Starting point is 00:06:34 while Richards was released on $100,000 bail. Both are obligated to do weekly check-ins as part of their release. Uh-huh. So this is what's happening around America. Now, that's a good scam. Go through the security thing and offer up what you, well, still has the tag on. Oh, shoot.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Yeah, I did. they would take that item off i'm sorry gosh darn it we talked about this that's a scam uh they were had the clothes uh underneath their clothing uh that they were deep pocketing and it doesn't say whether those items had the tags on or if they were ripping the tags off prior to stuffing them down their pants but i would say that you know you walk through there at the same time and the bells start going off and then you go oh oh oh oh oh oh Here, I got these. We've talked about doing that many times on this show,
Starting point is 00:07:27 because we've seen videos of people attempting that, right? And you see them walk through at the same time, and then that person comes back. It's a cute little scam. I don't know why they would want to go take it back to Lulu Lemon and get their money back without a receipt, because usually if you don't have a receipt, they just give you store credit.
Starting point is 00:07:47 So that must be a Lulu Lemon kind of thing, where you get your money back, which seems to be store policy should be, if you don't have a receipt, you get the store credit, so you really don't make anything, which is why you need to sell the items online. And the investigators, I'm sure, are looking for that as well.
Starting point is 00:08:06 You know, another crime that we're seeing, we're seeing a lot of now that took place was the COVID-19 fraud schemes, where people were defrauding the government of COVID-19 money. Wait, what? Yeah, I know. I know weird. Like this guy, a 45-year-old man from Inverness, Illinois,
Starting point is 00:08:25 pleaded guilty on September 30s for his role in a COVID-19 testing fraud scheme. He owned an operated Lab Elite, which was a laboratory in Chicago, that performed testing for COVID-19. Lab Elite submitted claims to the U.S. government for COVID-19 tests that were not performed as billed. Wait, what? They were just saying they were testing and they weren't? Yes, amazing.
Starting point is 00:08:52 I know. They also sent negative COVID-19 test results to patients, even though they knew the results were inconclusive. Well, I mean, if they were inconclusive, doesn't that make it negative? I don't know. Apparently not. Labelie didn't even perform the test. Yeah, I get that.
Starting point is 00:09:10 I get that so they didn't perform the test. Labelie billed the Department of Health and Human Services for the test. I get that. I get not performing the test and then billing them. about the inconclusive testing, I'm not quite sure I understand. But according to this, they paid Lab Elite more than $14 million in fraudulent claims. Ooh, that's not good. He could get 20 years in prison for that.
Starting point is 00:09:34 When you look down the list of some of the scams that took place during COVID, other Chicago labs investigated for COVID-19 fraud, there was this guy in California convicted of stealing $1.4 million in COVID-19 funds while he was in prison. 17 employees of the Broward County Sheriff's Department were indicted accused of fraudulent COVID-19 relief funds claims. Wow, they got 17. One guy got seven months in prison for that.
Starting point is 00:10:02 There was a guy from Burridge, Illinois, sentenced to spend six years and five months in federal prison for misappropriating over $1.85 million in COVID-19 test kit fraud. A U.S. Chief Army Warrant Officer, to Darra Buck, received four-year sentence, in January for scamming PPP and other COVID-19 relief funds. So it's just the tip of the iceberg,
Starting point is 00:10:26 billions of dollars were just spent on, given to people for COVID-19 fraud. So if you or someone you love collected some money from COVID-19, you may want to make sure you did it legally because they are now coming after you. Boarding for flight 246 to Toronto is delayed 50 minutes. Oh, what? Sounds like Ojo time.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Play Ojo? Great idea. Feel the fun with all the latest slots in live casino games and with no wagering requirements. What you win is yours to keep groovy. Hey, I won! Feel the fun! Play Ojo! Boarding will begin when passenger Fisher is done celebrating. 19 plus Ontario only. Please play responsibly.

Starting point is 00:11:45 I do see them all. Thank you very much for your emails. I appreciate them for your stories and your jokes and your entries to get into to be a contestant on what's the lie. Thank you very much. Chewing the fat at the blaze.com. Now, one of the things that I am
Starting point is 00:12:03 on his cameo at Jeffrey JFR on the Cameo app. And you can follow me on Cameo, but if you order a cameo, it, you know, does cost money. I see where Matt Gates, Matt Gates, the guy that was nominated to be Attorney General of the United States of America. And he has said, no, I don't want to be, I'm dropping out of the nomination process for Attorney General. He already dropped out of being a congressman again. He was reelected and said, nope, I'm not going to be a. in Congress anymore, but I am going to join Cameo.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I will say, according to this story, you know, Camio, you know, is, you know, he's offering personalized roast, pep talks, special occasion videos, and obviously once a customer orders a video, they're free to share the video
Starting point is 00:12:55 publicly. That's what Cameo is. Matt Gates is charging $525 a cameo. have got to raise my prices. If Matt Gates could get $525 a pop, it may be time to raise my prices on the old Cameo app. Get your Jeff Fisher cameo at these prices,
Starting point is 00:13:18 because they may change. Apparently, he's already done eight of them. So how much money is that? Four grand, a little over four grand. a little over four grand for eight of them. They're about 90 seconds long. And so I've seen a couple of them that people posted because they purchased it just to, you know, be able to post it. And we'll see how it turns out.
Starting point is 00:13:46 But I just feel like Matt Gates is getting, you know, $525 a post. I need to raise my prices. So get your, get your cameo at this price. You know, while supplies last. I see where there's a treasure hunt, a new treasure hunt going on in the country. More than $2 million in hidden treasure is up for grabs. After this John Collins Black, who made a fortune in Bitcoin investing, he spent the last few years assembling a cache of valuable items,
Starting point is 00:14:27 ranging from shipwreck salvaged gold de blooms. to rare Pokemon cards, all for the purpose of stashing them in secret locations for treasure hunters to unearth. He paired this with a book of clues. There's treasure inside, which is filled with puzzles and maps and all the clues needed to discover the location
Starting point is 00:14:49 of the treasure chest. Now, you're able to purchase the book, there's treasure inside. You can get it on Amazon for 3497. of it. If you're an Amazon subscriber, I could get it with free delivery and have it here in a week. I can pay for it to be delivered faster, but if I want it delivered free, it'll be here in under a week. But so I mean, he's making a little money off the book as well. Oh, really? Yeah, that's how it works. So he said you don't have to be a genius at all the clues. There's no grand cipher. You have to
Starting point is 00:15:29 have to have curiosity, imagination, and the willingness to try something new. You can find the treasures that I've hidden. Oh, okay. Items secreted away in the chest where these chests were designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences with the likes of sports trading cards, Michael Jordan's 86 rookie card, hidden in some while gold and historical artifacts are inside others. Some of the items include a diamond and sapphire brooch owned by Jacqueline O'Nast. a 4th century gold Greek laurel, a coin designed and minted by Pablo Picasso. It would be kind of cool to have.
Starting point is 00:16:06 And a rare specimen of a lunar rock. Wow. So, I mean, he's doing quite well. Bitcoin's almost had $100,000 of Bitcoin. And so he said the chests are not located in dangerous locations. He said that they're somewhere in the open, not buried. Each is also within three miles of a public road. None are located on private property.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Wow. So I created this treasure hunt because I live for adventure. And I just devised this during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. I hope to ignite that same sense of wonder and curiosity in everyone who joins this journey. Oh, yeah, that's great. So, and remember he's not the first, but remember what, what's that guy's name? Forest Finn, F-F-F-N-F-N, F-N, F-F-N, F-F-N, F-F-N, F-E-N, had the chest of gold and jewel. said to be worth a couple million hidden in the Rocky Mountains, and he had a poem filled with clues that led us to the location, and no one had found it for years, right? And then he said someone found it, and then he died.
Starting point is 00:17:13 He did not release the name of the person who he said found it, but then he died a couple of minutes later. So we don't know if someone actually did find it. I mean, you have to take the man out of his word. But here's a new treasure hunt for you. There you go. There's treasure inside. You can get the book for, well, 3497 is 30% off according to.
Starting point is 00:17:36 That's a Black Friday deal on Amazon. And you can get out there and start hunting for your millions of dollars of treasure in a box hidden somewhere. I mean, somebody might just stumble on it. It'd be awesome to stumble upon like that. He said they're not located in a dangerous location. They're somewhere in the open and three miles off a public. road and none are located on private property. Interesting. Interesting. It'd be fun to go out and look for them. There's that guy in Michigan that was creating all these treasure hunts in Michigan with diamonds and
Starting point is 00:18:12 stuff and he gave out clues. Shoot, I can't remember his name and I apologize. But he would, you'd buy into the group and then he would give you clues and he, you know, hid stuff all over the state and you were able to buy his clues find these treasures. I mean, I'm sure that happens, you know, everywhere. I just remember the story of the diamond, the diamond guy. So there you go. You have an opportunity to find the treasure with there's treasure inside.
Starting point is 00:18:42 All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. All right, I did not make it to the theaters this weekend. I'm very disappointed in myself. I'm looking, I'm just, I'm beating myself up because I did not go see Gladiator 2 this weekend, and I apologize. It was number 2, with 55, a 0.5 million domestic opening.
Starting point is 00:19:09 So whatever money I give them this week is for their second week, and it will help, but it doesn't give them that opening weekend. My $8 could have put them over the top. Or 10 or 12 or 100 that's it to pay for popcorn. Wicked was the number one movie this weekend. 114 million domestic opening. We'll see how that draws the second week. Gladiator, like I said, got 55 million domestic.
Starting point is 00:19:34 It's been 221 million global so far. Highest R-rated November opening ever. Solid B, cinema score and strong mail turnout. Yeah, we'll see how that runs. Red one, which I think is the second week. Yeah, it's number three, 13.2 million. Wow, with a 59% drop. Ooh, that does not bode well for that movie.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Bonhofer was number four. I saw I did see Bonhofer this week, so I gave a little money to the theaters. I had free tickets, so I don't want to be smirch Bonhofer. It's from Angel Studios. But I will say I found out that Angel Studios did not make this film, which makes me feel a little bit better because I was a little disappointed in it. I really liked the movie. I was familiar with the Bonhofer story. I did not know that he spent so much time in a man.
Starting point is 00:20:30 America. And it's just a strange way to tell his story. And, you know, I enjoyed it, but it was they got 5.1 million. They were number four. I don't see that lasting long because it was, it's just a, I don't know, I don't know, I'll probably do well on streaming. But I don't want to be smurched because it's Angel Studios. But Venom was number five.
Starting point is 00:20:55 Four million domestic. So it's dropped off 45%. Okay. Best Christmas pageant ever. 3.5 million. Ooh, that dropped hard to. Heretic, 2.2. The Wild Robot.
Starting point is 00:21:08 2 million. How much is the Wild Robot? 140.7 domestic total on Wild Robot? It doesn't seem like that's that good for that movie, but I still want to see it. Smile, 1.1, domestic weekend. That's dropped quite a bit. The real pain. That was 1.1 domestic will come.
Starting point is 00:21:27 So I guess that, a week four. Okay. So that means that my one movie is going to be on streaming faster than ever, the Catholic one. You know, a conglave, conglave. So that's not even in the top 10 anymore. So I got a shot to catch that earlier than expected. I mean, Wicked and Gladiator did not beat Barbie and Oppenheimer, but, I mean, Wicked broke the record for the best ever debut for a Broadway musical adaptation. Okay. I mean, come on now. They broke the record for the best ever debut for a Broadway musical adaptation in the last 40, whatever. Okay, I got it. earning $114 million domestic.
Starting point is 00:22:09 Gladiator 2 had a weaker box office. Yeah, we told you, 55.5. But they say that that will probably get it to $740 million by the end of its run. That doesn't count streaming either. I mean, streaming will be huge for Gladiator 2. So they say that you've got to make two and a half times budget, break even, which would be $375 million. for Wicked and $575 million for Gladiator. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:22:33 It doesn't count the promotion. Maybe that number counts of promotions, too, but they both spent a ton of money on promoting their movies. And so, um, what else? We got, uh, we got Glick coming up and we got Moana 2 coming up before the end of the year. So those two movies should, uh, draw some people to the theaters as well. You know, I started watching a couple of new shows this week and I ended a big show that I had been watching.
Starting point is 00:23:01 I had started watching a hell on wheels again because my father-in-law who had been gone for a while is back at the house and I wanted to watch the series with him because I knew he would love it and he did.
Starting point is 00:23:13 We watched all five seasons. It was awesome to watch it again. Cullen Bowhannon and that whole story, I already told you about it, but Hell on Wheels, AMC Plus. And it was on about the same time you know, in the early
Starting point is 00:23:27 you know, during when when the Walking Dead was on, when I was full-fledged, all full heart in Walking Dead, Helen Wheels was on. So I just missed it. I don't know why I missed it. I don't know if I wasn't ready for it.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Whatever. I remember seeing some promos. I remember seeing part of a couple of episodes. Just didn't do it for me. But I sat down and I watched that entire, it was so good. Those guys that did Helen Wheels, tremendous work.
Starting point is 00:23:55 From episode one, season one to episode 14. season five and they wrapped it up all in a nice little bow it was really good and uh so i finished i finally finally got through that again but we started watching uh landman uh on paramount plus another taylor sheridan show based on that boomtown podcast um and it is awesome with john ham and uh what's her faces in it in it that much so far the first two episodes i think i've watched the first two maybe three So she plays the wife of John Hamm, who is the oil mogul. Billy Bob Thornton is, you know, one of the main characters in the show really good.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Jacob Loughlin plays Billy Bob's son, awesome. Michelle Randolph plays Billy Bob's daughter. She is not bad to look at. And neither is Ali Carter, who plays Billy Bob's ex-wife and mother to Michelle Randolph and Jacob. Holy cow. Some good-looking females in this. cast but Billy Bob Thornton is awesome in it it is really really good and it's fantastic and he's such a there's no punches pulled with what he talks about how he says how he treats people really really good
Starting point is 00:25:15 and it's a big guy show so be ready for language and adult content but it is really good and i started watching cross on prime which is based on the James Patterson character. And, man, it was really good, too. And all of them dropped. I am a big fan of that. The Paramount Plus Landman, I'm all caught up, I think,
Starting point is 00:25:37 with the first one, two, or three episodes. And there's 10 episodes, and you have to wait every week, Paramount Plus. But that's why I waited, so I could at least get the first couple. I think we ended up watching three. And then, but Cross, they all dropped on Prime.
Starting point is 00:25:53 I have not. I've made it through two, I think. I don't think there's only so much time in the day. but really good on Prime. You know, it's a struggling detective show, which is right down my alley, and that's James Patterson character in the TV series. And all the movies, no Kiss a Spider and all that stuff,
Starting point is 00:26:11 that's all Cross and James Patterson stuff too. So the Prime Show Cross is really, really good. I did finish Tulsa King, right? The last year, that was last weekend. I finished that sometime last weekend or earlier this week. I've already passed that way past Elsa King. I still have Lioness. I'm in, only one or two into Lioness.
Starting point is 00:26:33 I've got to finish that, which I've been enjoying. So then there's football. So, you know, they've only got so much time of the day. On the weekends, it really drives me insane. This episode is brought to you by Peloton. A new era of fitness is here. Introducing the new Peloton Cross Training Tread Plus, powered by Peloton IQ, built for breakthroughs,

Let yourself run, lift, flow, and go. Explore the new Peloton Cross Training Treadplus at OnePeloton.ca. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Chuck Woolery. Very sad.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Huge fan I am and was. of Chuck Woolery, dead at the age of 83. He's Mr. Game Show. He's the original emcee behind Wheel of Fortune. And he was on Wheel of Fortune for several years before Pat Sejack took over. I remember when he joked around about after doing it. Yeah, from 75 to 81, he did Wheel of Fortune. And he said after six years, I thought, ah, this show's going nowhere.
Starting point is 00:28:06 because he joked around about being so wrong. And he toasted Scrabble and the Chuck Woolery show. That was his daytime show and the dating game, greed. I mean, he was Mr. Game Show. In fact, he was inducted into the American TV Game Show Hall of Fame. I'm not sure I knew that existed. The American TV Game Show Hall of Fame in 2007. He was, you know, he served.
Starting point is 00:28:38 in the Navy. He then started a musical group called the Avant Garde, which had a top 40 hit with Naturally Stoned, and he later had a handful of solo songs on the country charts. Chuck Woolery, very sad, dead at the age of 83. Doesn't say cause of death, but it does say the family said that he was having trouble breathing. That tends to be an issue. Oh, look, he's having trouble breathing. He's dead. He died in his Texas home, according to his family. Rest in peace to Chuck Woolery.
Starting point is 00:29:15 As I was reading about, I was trying to figure out where he lived. And his last house that I can find was that they sold or was up for sale four years ago outside of Austin. And it talks, it shows the house and the pictures of the house. But in this story, talking about the house for sale, it talks about how he's an active conservative voice on Twitter. this story is from 2020 and co-hosts a podcast called Blunt Force Truth which I did not know
Starting point is 00:29:44 but I may have to go back and listen to Chuck Willery and his podcast Blunt Force Truth that may not have been ongoing in the last couple of years but he definitely was doing that four years ago. So rest in peace to Chuck Willery very sad, dead at the age of
Starting point is 00:30:01 83. Then we have Rico Cardi Rico Cardi Braves Hall of Famer Dominican baseball icon dead at the age of 85. Now Rico played for the Atlanta Braves, the Cleveland Indians
Starting point is 00:30:17 and the Toronto Blue Jays throughout the 60s and 70s becoming one of Major League Baseball's first stars out of the Dominican Republic. Yeah, very sad. One time All-Star, batting champion. He was inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame. I did know that existed because every team has their own
Starting point is 00:30:33 Hall of Fame in that 2002, RICO Cardi dead at the age of 85. So I guess the hospitals in the Dominican are not as good as the ones in America, because it says here, according to this, he was taken to Atlanta two weeks ago due
Starting point is 00:30:50 to intestinal ailments, and he remained there until he died, so he's been in the hospital the last couple weeks. Very sad. But his remains will reportedly return to the Dominican Republic in the coming days. And then it mentions another person, another Dominican, icon Osvaldo Virgil, who died at the age of 92, and he was the first Major League
Starting point is 00:31:11 player to be born in the Dominican Republic, arriving in the Big Lees in 1956, pioneering Cuban pitcher Louis Teant had also passed away in October. Yeah, so I did not, I knew Louis Tiant died, and now we knew Rico Cardi died, but I did not know that Osvaldo Virgil had passed away, too, at the age of 92. So rest in peace. the whole kit and caboodle of the Dominican and Cuban baseball players who have died. Okay, then we have Andy Paley. They just keep falling. Andy Paley, dead at the age of 72.
Starting point is 00:31:49 He was the music composer. He had a battle with cancer. He collaborated with iconic artists like Brian Wilson and Jerry Lee Lewis, The Killer, the Ramones, Madonna, Elton John, Patty Smith. And he worked as a producer for many of many huge arts. artist, Katie Langlett, Little Richard, and he left his significant mark on music. But really, what he's known for is he's the music composer for a SpongeBob SquarePants. So, rest in peace, to Andy Bailey, dead at the age of 72.
Starting point is 00:32:22 Okay, then we have Rohitash Kumar, Rohitash Kumar, R-H-I-T-A-S-H-H-H-Kumar, 25, who is dead. rest in peace. Now, the reason that Kumar's death is intriguing is because he was declared dead. He was a deaf man and mute man, deaf and mute in India in the northwestern part of India. And they had declared him dead. And he was about to be cremated when someone said, hey, that guy is still alive. So they were like, oh, hey, what's going on? Let's take him back to the hospital. Sorry about that.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Rohituz Kumar, he thought you were dead. We were about ready to throw you in the fire. And so they took him back to the hospital, and then he died in the hospital a couple days later. Oh, okay. So I'm not sure what happened. They're saying they're doing some big investigation. He suffered some epileptic seizure and was declared.
Starting point is 00:33:34 dead. He flatlined. Doctors were performing CPR on him, and they said, yep, he's dead. Ship him off to be fired. But then they realized that he wasn't dead at all. And he was still breathing. So then they rushed him back to the hospital, and then he died there again. So this time, I guess he's for sure dead because they probably throw him in the fire for sure after that. So rest in peace to Rohitosh Kumar dead at the age of 25. Okay, then we have not dead yet, not dead yet, or not extinct yet, giraffes. Apparently, the United States will now list giraffes under endangered species for the first time. I know the Fish and Wildlife Service has proposed federal protections for giraffes due to population declines,
Starting point is 00:34:28 owning to poaching, habitat loss, and, of course, climate change. The agency recommends listing three northern giraffe subspecies, the West African, the Cordofan, and the Nubian, as endangered as their numbers have dropped by 77% since 1985. How many species of giraffes are there? Well, according to the giraffe species guide, there are four giraffe species and five subspecies. So what we're saving now on the endangered species,
Starting point is 00:35:03 list is the West African, Cordofan, and the Nubian as endangered. So let's just pause for a moment and think what the world would be like.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Now, I don't want anything bad to happen in giraffes. I like giraffes. They're fun to look at. They're fun to see. I've been to parks. I've been to, you know, different places where they come up
Starting point is 00:35:22 to the car and you get to see them and they've got the eight-foot-long tongue. And they're fun. They're fun to see. And they're fun to see at zoos. And I, you know, no one support zoos
Starting point is 00:35:30 more than this show or myself. However, let me say, this. What would the world be like without giraffes? Let's pause for a second and think about that. Okay, that's enough. What purpose are they for? I know. I'm just asking, I love them. I'm a huge fan, but, you know, what are they? We don't eat them. We're happy when they give birth at the zoos, and we're happy to look at them, but what are they for? I, exactly, exactly. So should we be spending all this money to protect them? Only you. can answer that question, just like only you could prevent forest buyers.
Starting point is 00:36:09 With Amex Platinum, $400 in annual credits for travel and dining means you not only satisfy your travel bug, but your taste buds too. That's the powerful backing of Amex. Conditions apply. So according to the annual survey from the American Farm Bureau Federation, Thanksgiving dinner will be a little bit cheaper this year than last year. So they claim in their chart that potatoes are down 26%. Ham is down 18%. Veggie plate is down 7%. The miscellaneous stuff, it looks like veggies and toppings and everything, is down 9%.
Starting point is 00:37:06 The cranberries are down are up. Cranberries are up 12%. No worries. I'm not buying cranberries, although we do. We usually buy a can because some. Someone has to have the canned cranberry on the table. And then sweet potatoes are down 26%. They claim stuffing is up 8%.
Starting point is 00:37:24 Oh boy. Pumpkin pie is down 3%. Peas are down 8%. Man, there's nothing like peas on Thanksgiving, is there? Turkey is down 6%. And rolls are up 8%. So rolls and stuffing, yeah, the breading stuff is up. Cranberries is up.
Starting point is 00:37:43 Miscellaneous, there's no... there's no beans. We don't have green pea cassero. We have green bean cassero. Why do they have peas on this list? Anyway, so good news that will be cheaper than last year, for those of you that have a regular average Thanksgiving meal with turkey and peas.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Man, there's nothing like turkey and peas on Thanksgiving. Am I right? Yeah, of course I am. And a veggie plate. What's a? a veggie plate. Is that celery with peanut butter in it? I guess so. Yeah, so maybe some carrots cut up. And so, I don't have peanut butter on here unless that's under the miscellaneous thing. And I can tell you right now, peanut butter is not gone down. I find that difficult to believe
Starting point is 00:38:31 that some of these items have gone down this much. And plus, it's gone down this much from the highs of last year. So it's still pretty expensive. But you're saving a little bit of money from last year. And according to this, three and ten hosts, are inviting fewer people this year. Oh. And they also say that many are asking guests to bring dishes to reduce costs. You always bring a guest. It's not polite to go to someone else's Thanksgiving dinner without bringing a dish to pass.
Starting point is 00:39:02 Something. Some kind of thing. That's impolite. I mean, even if it's a six pack of beer or something, you got to bring something. You can't just walk in the door empty-handed. Even if you were told, hey, don't worry about bringing anything. everything is going to be here, just show up and be a part of our family. That's wonderful, but you have to bring something.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Flowers, I mean, preferably food if you're coming to my house, but you can bring flowers, something. You have to, you cannot, you cannot walk through that door empty-handed. Otherwise, it's completely impolite and it will not go unnoticed. All right, let's get out of here. I'll leave you with the joke of the day. This was sent to me, emailed to me at Chewing the Fat at theblaze.com. Now, according to John, who sent me this email, it was an old Polish joke, but it could work with yupers.
Starting point is 00:39:56 So he sent it to me as a yupor joke. So two yupers went deer hunting and bagged a deer. As they were dragging it by the tail, they met a Michigander. Now, that's assuming, see this joke is already there, it's assuming that the two yupers aren't Michiganers. Now, you can argue that all you want, but technically, you know, I know Uper's are, you know, they're a different breed, but they're still Michiganders. So, I mean, it's still part of Michigan. While they're the, you know, the lower level Michiganers, they're still Michiganers.
Starting point is 00:40:34 Anyway, that's not my joke. I didn't write it. So two Uper's went deer hunting and bagged the deer. As they were dragging it by the tail, they met a Michigander who suggested grabbing the antlers and drag it that way. And I will say it's deer season. I just got a picture from my son who just got a deer. It's out there. Be careful out there.
Starting point is 00:40:53 We did the story last week about the deer hunters having heart attacks out there in the woods because they're out of shape. So it's deer season. Be careful out there. Okay. As they were dragging it by the tail, they met a Michigander who suggested, hey, why don't you grab it by the antlers and drag it that way? After one uper said to the other, this is easier. The other uper says, yeah, but now we're getting.
Starting point is 00:41:14 further from the car. See, because they hadn't turned to, yeah, you get it, you get it. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content at theblaze.com slash podcasts.
