So join the more than 400,000 Canadian entrepreneurs who already count on us. And contact Desjardin today.
Starting point is 00:00:25 We'd love to talk. Business. Blaze Radio Network And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. Here we go. The United States Department of Agriculture demanded, I'm sorry, ordered on Friday. The country's milk supply to be tested for H5N1. Yes, that's correct.
Starting point is 00:00:52 That is bird flu. So the testing apparently is critical to our ongoing efforts to protect the health. and safety of individuals and communities nationwide. Okay, I thought the milk supply was fine because of pasteurization. Well, not so fast. People are drinking a lot of raw milk lately, and they want to stop that immediately. So beginning the 16th of December, just days away, if you're listening live, today is the 9th of December, 2024. Beginning on the 16th of this month, six states, California,
Starting point is 00:01:30 California, Colorado, Michigan, Mississippi, Oregon, and Pennsylvania will begin testing the supply. Regulators are seeking to quickly identify the dairy herds infected with bird flu. Apparently, as of this weekend, 718 dairy herds had been impacted in 15 states. There are 58 confirmed human cases of bird flu in the United States, and the first case, which stemmed from dairy cows, was recorded in April. of this year. Now, they're saying that bird flu probably can't be transmitted between humans. Uh-huh. But of course, we're concerned that the virus could evolve. Uh-huh. So, pasteurization, yes, they said, pasteurization will kill the H5N1 virus. And they're just going after the raw milkers. So don't you dare be a raw milker? If you're a raw milker, we're coming after you right now
Starting point is 00:02:27 because California has already had broad recall of the farm's raw milk from their health officials because they detected bird flu in multiple batches of raw milk from a local dairy farm. So don't you dare become a raw milker. And if you are a raw milker, don't admit it publicly because we will not have that. We will not have raw milkers amongst us. Welcome. Welcome to chewing the fat. Last week we talked about the 64-year-old woman in Pennsylvania who fell into a sinkhole in Unity Township in Pennsylvania.
Starting point is 00:03:11 And she was, they searched for her for four days. She was missing for four days. She was out looking for her cat, her missing cat with her grandchild in the car and then just disappeared. And they assumed that she had fallen down this sinkhole, which opened up that wasn't there while she was. prior to her out looking for her cat. Now, they finally found her. And what's fascinating about this whole thing is they found her around 30 feet
Starting point is 00:03:41 from where the mine would have sat and about 12 feet from where the original sinkhole occurred. It took four days. Four days to find her. She was 12 feet from the original sinkhole. I have a few questions. Like, I have a few questions. I know that they brought in the ground to the earth movers.
Starting point is 00:04:08 And they were looking, you know, going down. I think that they went down into the shaft. They sent drones down into the shaft. And they had their whole recovery operation. And then after, I think, a couple of days is when it turned into, it went from a rescue mission to a recovery mission. They had initially started pumping oxygen into the mine in hopes of sustaining life, which they stopped doing.
Starting point is 00:04:33 And then I guess it became too dangerous for the rescue workers to go down into the mine. They had sent drones down in, as I said. I don't know. They've said one of the rescuers, I don't know if it was the sheriff department or not, that was in charge of the search and rescue mission, said that it kind of felt like a failure. and that the spirits kind of got sucked out a little bit when they had to pull the rescue workers because it was too dangerous.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Yeah, I can understand that. So I'm not really quite sure. I understand the entirety of the rescue mission and how they were digging around the sinkhole and away from the sinkhole and then coming at it from another angle from this old mine that had collapsed. So I'm sure it's very, very difficult.
Starting point is 00:05:27 I just find it, puzzling. Puzzling. That's what I find it. Puzzling that she was found about 12 feet from where the original sinkhole occurred. It seemed to me that you should be able to find someone if they're within 12 feet of the original sinkhole.
Starting point is 00:05:51 But again, what do I know? And it is great that they found her, you know, for the family and for the sake of the community and for everyone. She needs to be memorialized the way she, you know, for how she lived.
Starting point is 00:06:08 But it's just really sad that, I mean, the one story from Pennsylvania goes into great detail of what they used and how they used to try to get into the sinkhole and into the mine
Starting point is 00:06:23 and, you know, each scoop of dirt is analyzed and he explains, and he explained, you know, how the protocol happened. I just, again, I find it, I can't stop thinking about. She was only 12 feet from the original sinkhole. It seems like you should have found her. It just, you know, it took four days, and she was 12 feet away.
Starting point is 00:06:44 I'm sure that there's professional excuses all around and not excuses, but professional explanations of why they didn't find her until, you know, after, you know, four days, and she was only, you know, 12 feet from the original sinkhole. But I, you know, see, this seems to me, as a lay person, as a sinkhole lay person, you should have been able to find her, but, you know, again, how do I know? Speaking of not being able to find things, you know, we talked a lot of this show when the two emos went missing in South Carolina, when the monkey. broke out of the Alpha Genesis Lab in South Carolina.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Okay, so the update on that, Thelma and Louise, the two emus, one has been captured. It's been, how long it has been to month, at least? And we still only have one. We've captured one. We don't know if it was Thelma or Louise, but we do know that one more is still out there in the wild.
Starting point is 00:07:48 We have not captured both of them. And the one that we caught, whether it be Thelma or Louise, did have some stray buckshot in it. So somebody did try to put it down. But, you know, it didn't work. So they're fast and they're these large flightless birds. I know, I get it. But it just seems that we in today's world should have been able to capture two emus in South Carolina.
Starting point is 00:08:21 But no, we have only captured one so far. Then we go to the Alpha Genesis in South Carolina and they're monkeys that broke out of their lab. Okay, so at last report, I thought that they had all of them but four. Now, this story says they have all of them but six. But they stopped giving updates on the monkeys because the last update was that, yeah, we know where they're at. We think we know where they're at.
Starting point is 00:08:48 And we're still waiting for them to come back. You know, they've been putting out peanut butter and jelly, and they've been, you know, on the outskirts of the lab, and they're just waiting for them to come home. Well, we don't know if they're all secured or not yet because Alpha Genesis has stopped giving updates on the missing monkeys for, well, it's been over a week now, because they're pissed. People had, people are starting to report bad things about the Alpha Genesis lab.
Starting point is 00:09:19 and some of the work that they've done and are doing there at the labs. And so there was reported that they were, you know, moldy food and escapes and deaths at the facility. And so they, you know, they got tired of all these bad reports. So you know what? We're not going to give you reports anymore. How about you get off my property and leave us alone? But we don't know if they're still out there. So just be careful.
Starting point is 00:09:49 if you're still living by the Alpha Genesis lab, because there could be, you know, at least a half a dozen monkeys still out there. We don't know if they're friendly. We hope they are. They say that they're not, they don't have any diseases. Okay, you know, sure.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Well, take your word for it, but I'm still going to be careful. And I know you've been fined several times for, you know, failing to secure the primates. Yeah, I mean, we get all that. And then there was an issue. I mean, one of their employees left a gate unlocked and the monkeys got out. As an employee of Alpha Genesis, you probably should know better.
Starting point is 00:10:28 Shouldn't you? I go through a door, I close it, and I lock it. It's pretty much a simple routine, but it didn't happen. So, and you know, PETA just hates these labs anyway, and our friends at PETA, so they want to, you know, they want labs like Alpha Genesis shut down very bad. badly. But, you know, they, okay, so we'll see. You know, we'll see what happens. If you're still in South Carolina, though, around the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Facility in the Emacy, South Carolina, heads up, if you thought you could open your windows and leave your cars unlocked and not have your
Starting point is 00:11:09 shotgun locked and loaded by the front door, think again, because it's still possible that they're out there. So keep your gun locked and loaded by the front door and make sure your windows and all doors are locked appropriately. So what were the top movies this past weekend? Moana 2, number one, with 52 million domestically. Wow, they've surpassed 300 million domestically and 600 million globally. Wow. I mean, they, the original Moana went 582 million.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Okay. Congratulations to Moana, too. Wicked in number two. slot with 34.9 million domestically. They've hit 320.5 million domestically and 455 million globally. And then Gladiator 2 got another 12.45 million domestically over the weekend, which gave it 132.7 million domestic total, 368.4 million globally, holding strong at that number three three slot. Although they lost theaters this weekend. They were down.
Starting point is 00:12:31 140 theaters. So kind of strange for Gladiator 2 to be cut. Well, I mean, if the audience isn't there, then they're going to cut screens. Red one, $7 million domestically. So that's reached 85.7 domestic total. They claim that it's showing decent legs. But I feel like that should be a bigger, bigger draw.
Starting point is 00:12:55 But that's just me. Then they re-released Interstellar over the weekend. from just 165 iMacs locations. And they got Christopher Nolan's 10th anniversary re-release and the IMAX of the 7mm showings completely sold out. So they brought in 4.4 million domestically on that, on the re-release of that. Those are your top five movies for the weekend.
Starting point is 00:13:20 Now, they're using the Moana 2 release as an excuse to say, you know, theaters are coming back. We need to rethink our streaming plan because people are coming to see the movie. Okay, and this still goes well. I mean, the theaters, good for them. They're planning their, you know, they're planning their recreation of the great theaters. And you can't see it at home.
Starting point is 00:13:43 What you need to do is see it on the giant screen. And I agree with that. But they still need to do my plan. And that is if it's not in the top 10 after the first two weeks, and maybe even the top five after the first two weeks, then it goes to streaming right away. So, you know, instead of, dropping all the theaters. You're going to cut the theaters
Starting point is 00:14:05 for the available use anyway. So let's put it on streaming and, you know, up the viewership from streaming. I don't know. I just feel like they need to do that. But they have not discussed that with me. And I loved Gladiator, too.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I can't wait to watch it again. You know, it's awesome. It's already Danzel's most financially successful. full releases to be directed by Ridley Scott again. He was at 267.9 million with American Gangster, which was awesome. And now Gladiator 2 is well over that in the 300 million for the opening.
Starting point is 00:14:46 So awesome. I love that. I'm a huge fan of Danzel and a huge fan of this movie. Gladiator 2 was awesome. Now, it didn't get the Golden Globes were released today. As I said, if you're listening live, today is the 9th of December 2024. So the
Starting point is 00:15:04 Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy Anora Challenger's Amelia Perez, A Real Pain, The Substance, Wicked. Best Motion Picture Drama. The Brutalist A Complete Unknown. Conclave, Dune Part 2, Nickel Boys,
Starting point is 00:15:22 September 5th. Are you kidding me? No Gladiator? Where the heck is Gladiator at? Did Denzel even get elected? performance by a male actor in a supporting role in any motion picture. Uh, Yura Borosov, Anora, uh, Kieran Culkin, a real pain, Edward Norton, a complete unknown, Guy Pearce, the Brutelist, Jeremy Strong, the apprentice, Denzel Washington Gladiator 2. So he may end up getting that at the Golden Globes.
Starting point is 00:15:51 Uh, and then, uh, Gladiator 2, I think the only other one I saw in the golden globes for Gladiator 2 was the soundtrack, I'm sorry, the best original score, motion picture, cinematic, and box office achievement. Gladiator 2 is on that list as well, along with Alien Romulus, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Deadpool, and Wolverine, Inside Out 2, Twisters, Wicked, the Wild robot, and Gladiator 2. So, we only got those two for the Golden Globes. Okay, all right. We'll have to break down the Golden Globes' nominations because some of them I question. The others, I think, okay, they're worth it, I guess.
Starting point is 00:16:41 Some of them aren't even on here, which is very, very disappointing. And of course, you know, the best performers by a male actor in a television series, musical or comedy. Adam Brody, nobody wants this. Ted Dantson, a man inside, Steve Martin only murders in the building.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Yep, Jason Siegel shrinking. Martin Short, only murders in the building. Jeremy Allen White, the bear. Probably going to go to Jeremy Allen White and the bear. Although Steve Martin and Martin Short should just share it. And they should give, and then, you know, they could give, what's your face, the best of from
Starting point is 00:17:17 only murders in the building as well. Selena Gomez. I think it just, you know, give it to all three of them because they were, all three of those were, you know, awesome and only murders in the building. But, you know, for the best performance, by a female actor in a television series musical or comedy christian bell nobody wants this uh quinta brunson abbott elementary uh what's her face from the bear a yo and de b uh selina gomez of course as i mentioned
Starting point is 00:17:43 katherine hann for agathaall along in jean smart and hax and she was awesome in hacks and what a great i really enjoyed hacks and then of course the best performance by a male actor in a television series drama uh billy bomb thornton with landman probably uh big big time frontrunner for that in that case. And Jay Gellenhall and Presumed Innocentists in that. We talked about that. You know, I watched Presumed Innocent. I was really disappointed
Starting point is 00:18:09 in Presumed Innocent and how they came to the end of that. In the movie, it was different than what they did in the series. And it just, I don't know, didn't sit right with me. Pamela Anderson got a nomination for Best Actress in a Drama category
Starting point is 00:18:25 for her performance in The Last Showgirl. Everyone was shocked. What? Campbell Anderson? Yeah, well, we have to give her a little bit of credit, don't we? And another nomination of Jamie Fox in Best Performance in a Stand-Up category for his special Jamie Fox, What Had Happened Was, which debuts on Netflix this week. And he, you know, of course, there's other competition as well in that category with Nikki Glazer. Someday You'll Die, Seth Myers, Dead Man Walking, Adam Sandler, love you,
Starting point is 00:18:56 Ali Wong, single lady, and Rami Josef, more feelings were the nominees for the best performance in a stand-up comedy on television. So there's plenty of nominations. The nominations for everybody all the way around. And the 2025 Golden Globes
Starting point is 00:19:14 will take place on January 5th on CBS and stream on Paramount Plus. Probably don't have to have the Paramount Plus showtime plan to view that one. I cannot tell you how angry it makes me with these new shows that they're promoting on Paramount Plus
Starting point is 00:19:33 along with the showtime plan. It's very frustrating to me. It's all. It's very frustrating to me, but that's what they're doing. All right, let's go to the break room. I need something cold to drink desperately. All right, so you can follow me on my social media accounts

Starting point is 00:22:50 BlazTV.com slash Jeffie. Okay. So we have breaking news that is very good news. I mean, very, very good news. I don't know where my man on the street reporter is, Chris Cruz, because this is breaking news, and is he here? No, no, he is not. But I'm still going to bring it to you.
Starting point is 00:23:10 I don't need the breaking news sounder. I don't need any of that. I just know that this is good news, and I want to bring it to you now. We were told on Friday that the manslaughter charge against Daniel Penny was dismissed, and then they told the jury that you're going to continue deliberating the lesser charge Monday, which is today. So they granted the motion from the Manhattan prosecutors to dismiss the more serious charge of second-degree manslaughter against Daniel Penny.
Starting point is 00:23:40 And they said the ruling clears the way for the jury to consider the remaining lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide. It came after the Manhattan jury said they were deadlocked twice on the manslaughter charge. And Penny's defense attorneys renewed their motion for a mistrial, which obviously did not happen. so the jury reconvened today and has come back with their verdict it was a unanimous consensus decision on the second count of finding daniel penny not guilty thank you thank you for doing your jobs
Starting point is 00:24:21 not guilty uh apparently neelie's father the father of the father of the father of of the man who died, Jordan Neely, reportedly removed from the courtroom. I guess he was a little unhappy. And I'm sure there's going to be protests out there. I mean, he didn't care about Jordan while he was alive, but he cares about him now that he's dead because there's a possibility that he wants to, you know, get some money because he was, in fact, filed a lawsuit against Daniel Penny. So we'll see how that works out in the end.
Starting point is 00:24:53 But as for this case, as for this case in the trial over the. the chokehold death of Jordan Neely on a New York subway last year. He, I know he doesn't get this year back, but thankfully, this jury saw through it and found Daniel Penny not guilty. I mean, I don't know, I said all along, I don't know how they could have convicted him, and they could, and they were torn on the second-degree manslaughter charge. so, you know, they'd reached a deadlock on that. So maybe there was one person holding out for the manslaughter charge.
Starting point is 00:25:34 But once that went away, then the criminally negligent homicide was in front of the jury. And they were like, no, we're not convicting him of that. So that is good news. That's good news for anyone who wants to step in and help other citizens when other people are out of their minds. you've got to be able to help instead of sit back and do nothing. And thankfully, Daniel Penny didn't just sit back and do nothing. Otherwise, all these people on the subway car, you know, very possibly could have been harmed. That was the whole point behind this.
Starting point is 00:26:10 So the jury has come back in the Daniel Penny trial. Unanimous decision. Not guilty. Daniel Penny is a free man. Boarding for flight 246 to Toronto. is delayed 50 minutes. Ugh, what? Sounds like Ojo time.
Starting point is 00:26:42 Play Ojo? Great idea. Feel the fun with all the latest slots in live casino games and with no wagering requirements. What you win is yours to keep groovy. Hey, I won! Starting point is 00:27:04 comexonterio.ca. Who died today? Who died today? Well, let's begin with Steve Mench. Steve Mench. He is the president, or was the president and general manager of Tyler Perry Studios, killed in a single-engine plane crash in Florida at the age of 62. He passed away after his plane crashed on Highway 19 in Florida, about 8 o'clock in Homa, Sasa.
Starting point is 00:27:37 And the studio did confirm. that that was Mench and that he has passed away. So Steve Mench, there's a job opening. Oh, it's too soon for that? There's a job opening as president and general manager of Tyler Perry Studios because Steve Mench is passed away at the age of 62. Then we have Wilma Norris Knight. Wilma Norris Knight dead at the age of 103.
Starting point is 00:28:07 That is the mother. of Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris announced that the death of his mother, 103-year-old Wilma Norris Knight, and rest in peace to Wilma Norris Knight, Chuck's mom, at the age of 103. There were no cause of death listed, but at 103, I mean, it could have been that,
Starting point is 00:28:35 but it didn't say. It just said, Cause of Death was listed. So rest in peace to Wilma Norris Knight, dead at the age of 103. Now, the manhunt is still on for the shooter of the United Healthcare CEO, Brian Thompson. The New York Police Department released two new photos of the assailant, said there's reasonable evidence that he has left New York City on a bus after killing Brian Thompson. apparently before arriving at the bus station in Upper Manhattan. Police said the suspect went to Central Park, left a backpack full of monopoly money,
Starting point is 00:29:17 that authorities recovered. Police also believed the gun used in the killing was a veterinary gun, the type used to put down farm animals that requires a reload after every shot. So we're not quite sure how he escaped New York being one of the most surveilled city. He's in the world, but he did. And he's still on the run. We don't know. We don't have any evidence as to what was the reasoning behind the murder.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Everyone is either sad that Brian Thompson has passed away, was murdered on the streets of New York, or they're happy because he's part of United Health Care. We hate big insurance. And he denied my great, great, great grandmother once on something that wasn't in her insurance. policy. So we hate him. And it could be for, I mean, it could be a slew of reasons and or it could be just, you know, because of the wife. It's always the wife. Just remember, you heard it here first. I know. I know. It's sad. And she loves her husband. And it's possible that, you know, it had something to do with United Health Care. It's possible it had something to do with, you know,
Starting point is 00:30:34 the investigation from the Department of Justice. It's had something. to do with insider trading. It's possible. All of those things are possible. But so is the possibility that it's the wife. And when it comes down to the investigation, finding out that the wife is responsible, no, just know that you heard it here first. And just so you know, if you haven't heard, you know, the fall of Syria and Assad was run out of the country.
Starting point is 00:31:06 he has fled to Moscow and so we've seen that that actual footage coming out of Syria is an actual insurrection. Huh, funny how that actually is an insurrection unlike what was called an insurrection here in this country. And good news is that we're giving more money to Ukraine and we have launched airstrikes against ISIS in Syria. So, don't even worry about it.
Starting point is 00:31:41 Don't even worry about it. Everything is fine. Why are we getting involved? Your guess is as good as mine. I guess, you know, the president wants to be, the president who is in office, technically,
Starting point is 00:31:55 Joseph Biden wants to feel like he still is the president and he's going to launch some attacks to make him feel strong. The world leaders were all at the note Dame Cathedral in Paris this past weekend. Without Joe Biden, Jill was there. Jill did show up. Of course she did because Joe Biden was back here in America.
Starting point is 00:32:12 So if Joe is on the continent of the United States, Jill has to be on another continent. That's just the way it goes. But our real president of Donald Trump was there. And they held the first mass in five years since the fire and the billion-dollar restoration of Notre Dame Cathedral. And so it was a big deal. And all the world leaders were there, all the world leaders that mean anything. And Jill was there just to, I guess, pretend that, well, she technically is still the, you know, first lady.
Starting point is 00:32:45 But is she? It's a big deal, the Notre Dame Cathedral, Notre Dame Cathedral, Notre Dame Cathedral. It's, you know, the jewel of Gothic architecture, symbol of Paris and a tourist mecca. and I mean it took 182 years to build it between the 12th and 14th centuries and there's all kinds of stories from the medieval myths to modern day mysteries but it is it is a world landmark and I'm glad that they did what they did and got it back open again it's we we can't lose world landmarks Marshall's buyers travel far and wide hustling for great deal
Starting point is 00:33:42 on amazing gifts, so you don't have to. They've bagged this season's Italian leather handbags. Designer. Hand-picked the finest sweaters from the rest. Ooh, cashmere. Landed makeup palettes from the brands you love. Rushes too. And hustled all those wishless topping toys.
Starting point is 00:34:01 So plush. Our buyers have got you covered. Marshals. We get the deals. You gift the good stuff. Well, congratulations are in order to New York Yankee. Yankees baseball star Juan Soto, who was no longer a New York Yankees baseball star, because he just signed a new deal with the New York Mets.
Starting point is 00:34:23 He's going across town. Apparently, he might be able to live, you know, exactly where he is living now. I don't know that he has to actually move. He may want to, though, since he signed the richest contract in professional sports history. The Major League Baseball Superstar agreed, reportedly. to a 15-year, $7.65 million deal with the New York Mets.
Starting point is 00:34:49 $51 million per year. That surpasses the 10-year $700 million contract show Hey, O'Tonni received from the Dodgers last year. He's also deferring none of his contract in contrast with Otani, who deferred 97% of it for a decade. Wow.
Starting point is 00:35:09 There's a lot of fans, a lot of New York Yankee fans are really unhappy with Juan Soto They are very unhappy And they are posting videos That I'm sure Juan You know, he doesn't care
Starting point is 00:35:27 Look Because the Yankee fan Out in front of Met Stadium Is telling you to F off And they're telling all the Yankees fans to burn Soto's jerseys. Does he care about that? Nah, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:35:44 Not with $51 million a year contract. And apparently, there are incentives that take it up over $800 million a year. So that's good. That's good. I saw where, and I haven't done the math on this, but I saw where many believe that that works out to be, you know, $5,902.78 an hour. for the next 15 years? Yeah, I think I would be playing for the Mets as well.
Starting point is 00:36:16 All right, so we're still smack dab in football season. NFL is heating up. And tonight, the 9th of December, 2024, Monday night football, as the Cowboys and the Cincinnati Bengals are going to be playing on Monday night football, the Simpsons will take the field as well. For the second year in a row of the NFL and Disney will broadcast an animated version of Monday night football game in real time. They will, ESPN Plus and Disney Plus,
Starting point is 00:36:48 with players being represented as cartoon doppelgangers from the Simpsons, similar to the Toy Story game between the Jaguars and the Falcons last year. Homer and Bart will take the field. Marge and Lisa will interview players. Maggie will fly the SkyCam as the NFL attempts to leverage technology to make a game between two, well, I mean,
Starting point is 00:37:08 the Cowboys at the Bank Bengals are not doing as well as everyone had hoped they would. So I'm sure when they picked this game, they had planned on the Cowboys and the Bengals being above 500. That is not the case. And so they're both good teams and fun to watch, especially the Bengals. Man, it's sad to see what's happened to that team this year.
Starting point is 00:37:30 They just can't seem to get a win. And Joe Burrow was awesome. But so, I mean, when this game was picked, the Cowboys in Cincinnati on Monday night was to be, you know, a monster game. You know, like the Bills and the Rams were last night, or the Bills and the Lions will be next week. But too late for that.
Starting point is 00:37:48 And so you just have to go with what you got. And you can quote me on that. You just have to go with what you got. And in fact, the Simpsons version may be more entertaining. And just a quick reminder that that will be on ESPN Plus and Disney Plus while Monday Night Football is on ABC and ESPN. Well, I was a few great championship games this weekend. It was fun.
Starting point is 00:38:13 College football is all but over, really. I mean, it's not over because we have the 12-team playoff. And we have, what, 46 bowl games to go through, right? That's awesome. So it's not over. I love college football. But we do have the 12-team playoff happening. The first rounds of the playoffs will take place December 20th and 21st.
Starting point is 00:38:39 then it goes to December 31st and January 1st, and then January 9th and January 10th, and the championship game will be held January 20th in Atlanta. So the playoff brackets are out there. It's awesome. I'm looking forward to it. There were a couple of really good games this weekend. The Clemson SMU game was awesome.
Starting point is 00:39:02 The Georgia, Texas game was an incredible game to watch, no question. And then Arizona State, crushed Iowa State. And that was the Big 12 championship that nobody cared about. But congratulations to Arizona State. And the Big 12 championship game that everybody really wanted was BYU and Colorado. And they will play each other in a bowl game. I don't know what kind of, they jumped through hoops since they're both in the Big 12.
Starting point is 00:39:30 But the way that some of the bowl games had been structured, that they could make it happen with two Big 12 teams. That's the actual Big 12 championship that everyone wanted. So they're going to get it in a bowl game, which will be December 28th, the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, BYU versus Colorado. And then my Missouri Tigers will be in the Music City Bowl
Starting point is 00:39:57 in Nashville, Tennessee on Monday, December 30th, against Iowa. Yeah, we've played Iowa in a bowl game before, too. That was, actually, I think that may have been my son's last, bowl game against Iowa when Iowa beat us in the last minute of the game or so that was a tough game and so anyway those we could go through all of these bowl games what I'll do is I'll find out all the prizes and gifts that these bowl games are getting and then we'll talk about the
Starting point is 00:40:28 bowl games as you know through their prizes because the games you know I know most of you don't really care about the games I do but most of you don't I will say that watching the big 12 championship this weekend. You know, obviously I love watching halftime with the big Dr. Pepper championship is tossing footballs into the giant Dr. Pepper cans for, you know, $100,000.
Starting point is 00:40:52 But watching the halftime performance at AT&T Stadium was Neo performing with the marching bands from Arizona State and Iowa State. And man, it took a while for me to realize, who Neo was. And, man, we pulled him out of the,
Starting point is 00:41:13 we pulled him out of the archives. Back on, I mean, he's a big time artist. He's got number one albums. He's got some Grammy Awards. And he's got 23 billion streams across the entire music catalog. That's what they say. But he wasn't,
Starting point is 00:41:29 I mean, I guess he was okay. We'll just leave it at that. I guess he was okay. But we can do better. Let's, I would say, to the Big 12 conference and AT&T Stadium and the championship game and Dr. Pepper, you could do better than Neo performing with the marching bands. But hey, you know, again, what do I know?
Starting point is 00:41:55 It's kind of been an underlying theme of today's show. What do I know? All right, let's get out of here. I'm going to give you the joke of the day. I'm going to give you one that I was going to use. I'll give you two jokes of the day. This is a bonus Monday joke of the day. coming at you.
Starting point is 00:42:10 Thanks for listening to Chewing the Fat. It's a bonus Monday joke of the day. The first one is the one that I've laughed at for, you know, several days now. And kind of ties in with the United Healthcare murder. That's not funny. It's just me laughing out loud. The joke is my husband has been missing for six days now. And police said we should prepare for the worst.
Starting point is 00:42:41 So I went to the charity shop to get his clothes back. See, because the worst would be him. Yeah, you understand. Now that I'll give you the joke of the day, sent to me by email, Chewing the Fat at the Blaze.com. And these people, this is what's happening in America now, and I'm creating it. And, you know, you're welcome.
Starting point is 00:43:03 But I'm letting people write their own jokes of the day. And then I'm giving them to you. So people are working through their jokes. And that's good. it's what needs to happen. You just sit down every day. You need to write it out. Write your jokes.
Starting point is 00:43:14 When you think of them, write them down so you have them and you're prepared to put them out there when you go up on stage on your, you know, open mic night. But this joke was sent to be from, from Matthew. And Matthew, I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:43:28 Thank you very much. But you need to, you know, let's work a little. Let's work a little on this. Asked my lady for a little business. And she said, no, because of woman's troubles. I asked if I could help.
Starting point is 00:43:44 Was it math or driving? And the answer was still no. See, Matthew, you got to work on that. And I'm willing to work on that. Get back to me again. Chewing the fat as a blaze.com. But thank you. Thanks for trying.
Starting point is 00:44:03 Keep it up. Just keep it up. Well, or not. Stream and subscribe to more Blaze Media content. at the blaze.com slash podcasts.
