I think because the John Spothers are on this episode that it's like not taking over the fact that it like taking it away from us that it's our 100th episode because it's really about them. But for like the next 10 minutes, I'm going to make it about us. Because it is like this is a huge milestone for us. A hundred episodes. We started this podcast in like July of what, 2018.

Yeah. We were doing once a week. We switched to two, which is how we have made it to 100 at this rate. Yeah. And I mean, it's just been awesome. Yeah, it's been awesome. I want to say, like, if you've been waiting for the Jonas Bueller's episode, like, just skip to them and then come back to us if that's really what you want to do. Because I recommend, you know, listen to both of us, but I know everybody's waiting for the Jonas Bothers. So you could save us. You could save us for a little treat after the Jonas Bothers if you want. But people always ask Fran and I how we even got started with chicks in the office, which I think the 100th episode is the perfect way to tell everybody how we got started here. Yeah, because I don't think we've ever even talked about it on our own show. I don't think we ever have. Like maybe in, I don't even think we did in our first three episodes. No, we didn't.

Definitely not. We really never did. And we have gotten in a lot more of new listeners or people who have jumped in who maybe aren't as familiar with Barstool or know where we started or where we came from. I met a great girl while I was watching the Eagles game a few weekends ago. And she was just like, I would really love it for you and Freya to explain like how the hell you are where you are. And I was like, that's awesome.

That's a great idea for our 100th episode. Because what a way to celebrate by kind of explaining. So I guess we can kind of just start from the beginning. We'll give you a quick rundown. Ria, you could start because you got here first. Yeah. Okay, I'll start. Three years ago, probably around this time.

Actually, I know the date, September 29th, 2016. It's not weird. I know the date. It's just because, okay, anyways. I won't get into it. September 29th, 2016, I was hired as an intern at Barstle because I went to high school with Glenn, aka Glennie Balls. If you follow Barstle, you know who that is. I went to high school with him and Barstle had just moved to New York and they were looking for interns and Glenn had just got hired as an intern and they were looking for more interns. They were looking for girls. Obviously Erica was here, but there was really no girls working at the company at all besides Erica. that time. And then I congratulated Glenn because I was already a fan of Barcelona. I followed KFC and Clem because of the Mets. I'm a Mets fan. So that's how I got into it. And I congratulated Glenn. And then he said, oh, well, Caleb, who hired me is actually looking for another intern because

he's leaving. Right. So it was like a joke. You're going to be Glennies. You're going to be my intern who's actually Glenn's boss. It was like a whole joke. So they FaceTime me and they were like, come to the office. So I went to the office. So I went to the office. office. I was going to FIT at the time. And then I got hired as soon as I walked in as Caleb and Glenn's intern. And then from there, I just, I did a lot of different things. Part of my take, I did Larry's picks. I was doing a lot of background. Like, I was in the background of their videos, like random videos. Barstle Idol was a big one. Yeah. I was doing a bunch of different stuff on the business side as well, random content that I can get into, just really anything I get my hands on.

And I was going to FIT at the time, like I said, and I barely went to class because I always wanted to be at bar school because I was just, it was just so much fun. Like I was 19, intern, just wanted to be at the office at all times and worked out in the end. Yeah. And I came in February of 2017. I was at Marymount Manhattan. And it was, it was interesting because I feel like. People ask us all the time, like how we got hired, what we had to do.

And honestly, it's such a joke. Like, I feel like people probably get so pissed at our answers because, like, we truly were hired on like whims. Like, there was not really anything other than that. Like, I was going to school in the city, living on the Upper East Side, and Smitty, our Philly blogger, tweeted out one day that he wanted or needed a New York City intern that could be in the office. and I went back and forth so much

and if I wanted to do it if I didn't want to do it and so finally I did send an email and it was like a legit email and Smitty was like wow this is one of the only emails that wasn't like somebody saying like hey go fuck yourself Smitty like hire me so like I sent him like my resume

and he was like you sent a resume that you're like the only person who did that you're hired so I sent in my resume Smitty was doing a show called Drive Time RIP it was rigged Trent Smitty. He wanted to do like a morning radio show

which was great but like there was there was no we didn't have our whole radio channel we only had Barso Radio in the afternoon and that was it so like the idea was there of having like something in the morning

but obviously we didn't have the actual radio so it was like a podcast the whole thing was tough but I basically was helping with that show and Smitty allowed me to be on that show for a while so I was on the show with them and then uploading it and whatnot and we were kind of just like doing I don't know like things here and there anything that we could like I said like like you said like you loved being around the

office so did I um we kind of spent like all of our time here and then we I don't it was weird because we were really like the only girl content like side. We were interns but like it was still technically on like the content side. Yeah. And so right away like they thought that we were like going to hate each other but like that's that's not what happened even though I will say to this day that I was absolutely horrified of Ria. I was like and I was like I am older than you. I was just that I was just like she is the scariest girl I've ever seen.

I don't know if that makes me feel good or bad at all. Like I, because I'm really, because I honestly, it kind of hurts me a little bit because honestly my whole life people have said that to me and a very nice person. No,

but it's not scary like you're mean. It was scary like you had your spot here. Everybody knew you as like the girl and like it and it was intimidating because everybody was like, oh well what are you going to do? Like we already does all this stuff. Yeah. So it was like I kind of had to find my own thing

because then I didn't want that that's also tough you're coming in there's only two girls you don't want to step on the other girl's toes I'm like I don't want to do anything that she's doing yeah but we weren't like it wasn't like you had to step on my toes because we both were doing like yeah I remember like the first DM you said me oh yeah I wanted to do a show with you please don't read it friend because I I'm going to get really embarrassed I'm going to be really embarrassed no but I like this is embarrassing for me no it's not how is that embarrassing I don't know because I was like, this is three years ago we're talking about. I was three years ago. I probably worded things so differently than how I know. I mean, now you have to say it. I don't even know it. No, because I reached out to Fran because I wanted to like work. I wanted to do stuff with her. I was like, we should make videos together. We're the only two girls here. Why not work together and do something together? So I guess it was a good DM by me, but I'm embarrassed thinking back on it. It was a super good DM. I mean, you broke the ice before I did. Yeah, I just. But I actually, for some reason, I don't even think I have it. Wow. Disappointed.

I remember what it was, but I don't remember specifically. I mean, I remember the gist of it. I remember the gist of it. I think we should do something together. We have the whole blonde brunette. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I was like blonde brunette. Like, we should just make a video series.

This is the, oh. I don't want to put any. Don't blow up this girl spot. There was a point in time. There was a point in time where we got DMs from this one girl literally like every day on Twitter. And so I'm just all these groups. Like, I just have all. these groups. I can't find your individual message because I don't think I don't, for some reason,

I don't think I even have it anymore. There is one detail that when people get, people ask us how we actually, because we were interns when we're talking about now, like this was all stuff while we were interns. And then the DM happened and then broke the ice because Fran and I then just like started sitting next to each other every day. Like we, like she said, they were like, ooh, two girls, what's going to happen. They kind of made not as a joke they would kind of make me like oh friends here now like what are you going to do and that's why I was like well let's just work together. I mean that's just the way to go and I mean turns out we were right because here we are now 100th episode but we um had a little help from Kevin Clancy and Brendan Clancy who they were like you guys should you know you should do videos

together why don't you answer some KFC radio questions see how it looks on video just just forced something to make a video out of. And then Dave saw it. He thought it was funny. He was like, you guys should keep doing this. Yeah. The first video we ever did, was it the first one we ever did? Yeah. It was, like translating emojis and like when girls and boys. My first video too. Yeah. Yeah. It was. Oh, Noah. That's wow. That's actually really nice. I didn't know that. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't even know you. Like I made, when I made that video. I like had been, I hadn't even met you. You were doing stuff for Kevin. I was, yeah, I was like at KFC radio. Remember when we like just didn't really know Noah? Yeah, I mean, he didn't work for us. No, but he did. It wasn't ever like officially. Even when he did. Well, it all worked down yet. But it took Dave a while

to like notice. Well, because we were doing it on our own for a while. First, I want to say that emoji video was so funny because we were doing all these emojis. And I don't know how we got on this. I don't even know how this one came up. I got to watch it back because I haven't watched it in a while. But there's one emoji of like, like. it's a small figure. I would say crawling. A woman laying down. Yes.

So. On her side sexually. We saw it and Ria was just like, oh no. That's like, you know, like sex. Like my ex-boyfriend would like send that. Yeah, we would like send it back and forth to each other. And I was like sex. I was like, Ria, that is like a baby crawling on the ground.

Like that's like not that's not a sexual thing. Like that's straight up a baby emoji. Once that, once we did that, we were like, Oh boy, this could be something very funny. That video, I mean, it was just hilarious. That was the first one. Yeah. And then we did it on our own for like a while.

Created the Instagram. And we started, we were like, well, we both like pop culture a lot. So let's just take the biggest stories. We created the Instagram. Had the Instagram grow before we showed it to Dave. Yeah. Oh, and chicks in the office. Like the name came.

Yeah, chicks in the office came from. It was a joke. Like, Gaz who runs, I mean, Gaz who runs gas. Gas is just like he runs a lot of the social at Barstool, but like he really kind of does it all and he's been around for a very long time here. And they had an ongoing joke of any time a girl would come into the office, he would be like, oh, there's a chick in the office, there's a chick in the office. So obviously they did that when we started working there and then we just kind of took it for ourselves.

Yeah, we took it for ourselves. We just made it our thing, which I'm proud of, I'm proud of we did that. And then on top of, so we started doing, this is an interesting part that we always leave out, Fran, when people ask us, and I want to make sure we talk about it. Okay. So we started doing the videos. The videos were doing great on Instagram. We started posting them on the website.

Dave was, like, post them everywhere. Like, this is great. And then we started doing, I'm trying to think was radio before or after this. Anyways. Radio was January of 2018. Okay, got it. Okay. So this was after.

I mean, this was before radio. So we're posting chicks in the office for a short amount. of time at this point in time of our lives. It's just picking up steam. The amazing race reaches out to me and Fran. Oh, yeah. I mean, that might be a whole different podcast. I don't know if we have time to get into the amazing race.

I'm going to sum it up so fast and then maybe we can get into it next podcast and you guys really want to hear about it. We'll tell you the full thing. Long story short, we went to L.A. We were supposed to be on the Amazing Race. We didn't go on, blah, blah, blah. We like apparently just like just got cut. Yeah, and they've been begging us to this day.

But either way, because. of the amazing race was why me and friend didn't go back to school. Because we thought that we were going to be on the amazing race. We thought we were going to be on the amazing race. This time we didn't have full-time jobs. We were not full-time employees. We were like, what do we do here? We're not full-time employees.

We're obviously not getting paid like full-time employees. We're still in college, but we might be on the amazing race, but we can't go back to school because we're not. We both have one point zero GPAs. We both like really not going to class. At all, actually. Literally at all. So what do we do here? We both dropped out. So then we both dropped out and got a full-time job here.

Well, because I feel like we dropped out and banking on the Amazing Race. The Amazing Race fell through, but then we got full-time jobs. Exactly. That's exactly what happened. So thanks to the Amazing Race. Yeah, it was a blessing and a curse. And then the radio show. I'm haunted by the, I'm haunted by the Thailand visa I have in my passport.

I know. It's just sickening. Like, we could have been there. a full like guys we went through like every step of being on everything we got to the point where we were vaccinated we were vaccinated we had to get shots six of them like so many shots they took our passports like they and when we got those passports mail back to us there's just a fat like whole page of like a travelers visa for thailand for like three months that we just obviously never got to guys in august two thousand of seventeen me and fran were locked in a hotel in l a

for seven days. Yeah. Like we were not allowed to leave this hotel. Apparently allowed to leave our rooms. We couldn't look at any other the other people. No, we couldn't.

We took a ride in the car to the studio with other contestants and we had to stay completely silent. We were allowed to say one word. And it was like get in the car, get into the studio, get back into the car, get into the hotel. Like you weren't allowed to be outside.

We had to like hide our, they wanted us to wear like barstool stuff but like we had to like wear sweatshirt to hide the barstool logos that the other contestants, like, didn't know who we were. The whole thing was just ridiculous. It was so ridiculous looking back on it. And that was two years ago. And we didn't make the show.

But then after. But honestly, thank God. Thank God we didn't make the show. And afterwards, we would have been so bad. They regretted not having us on the show after chicks in the office. They've reached out a couple times. They're like, we fucked up. And I've truly realized that I do not want to do on the amazing race.

There's no reason. We would leave all our listeners dry with no chicks in the office while we're gone. And the thing is, is we were like, we would be bad. And what sucks is like, if you get eliminated, you can't just like go back to your normal life. You get eliminated and then you're sequestered like for weeks on end until the show's over. The whole thing was. So we would just be like in hiding for a while. The good month where me and Fran thought we were going to be on the amazing race was a funny one.

Well, I was a wild time. It was also when I first started dating my boyfriend. I was just going to say we both just, we both started dating our boyfriends around the same time. Yeah. You were a couple months before. for me because I did like when I started working here and we became friends like then I realized you were like sneaky falling in love with Hank like what? I was like oh damn yeah anyways um but like I met my boyfriend at the beginning of that summer and then like by the end of the summer like he was like

what do you mean like you're going to go with the amazing race yeah you're just going to be gone for months with like no communication I thought our relationships were over because I was like once we go to the amazing race like they're going to not we're going to not talk to them for like a month and a half and they're just like going to be fine and good boys no no no shot yeah no shot um but yeah it turns out we didn't go so now we're here 100th episode yeah and do you want to just quickly finish the timeline radio started radio started barstall got their full radio station in january of 2018 um no 27th no 20 18 because i started February 20th got it got it okay January 2018, we were offered, we were asked if we wanted to show.

And we were like, yeah, sure. Like, if we could do something maybe like a couple times a week. Like, we thought maybe like late at night. We had no idea. Yeah, we had no idea. And it wasn't until like four days, three days before the station launched that they were like, you guys are going to be on every day from one to two. And we were like, oh, damn, okay.

And me and friend had never recorded a radio. Never done anything. The only thing we'd ever done was the one minute chicks in the office videos. So we had no idea how to do radio or a podcast or anything. And then we were thrown onto the air. Yeah. And I guess we figured it out. Yeah.

I mean, we did the radio show for seven, six, seven months before we thought like we should do a podcast or other people thought we should do a podcast. And we were pretty worried about it. We were worried that nobody was going to listen. We were very worried about it. So thank you guys. Thank you. Yeah.

It's actually all because of you guys. It's really, if you listen to like, can we talk about something? No. I want to say, though, like, if you listen to the timeline of what happened here, like, yes, we did get hired and whatnot and France crying. So now I'm I'm not going to look at you either. If only no, it was recording. But, um, oh man. You told me not to. I know. Wow. Fran is not. No, now I'm crying too. It's like a problem. Um, I'm going to start a sniffling. I will say, I'm going to get this out. It is because of the people listening because truthfully, like we're two people who dropped out of college and had no idea what we had no idea what we were doing. I had no idea what we were doing. I was. I was going to do. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was we were doing and just love talking just love talking about celebrities i almost said talking shit yeah talking shit we're nice most of the time um and we just you know we had that going for us but without you guys and the people listening and subscribing and liking and following chicks in the office we really wouldn't even have this at all we wouldn't have the radio show we wouldn't have the

podcast we wouldn't have the videos we would have just failed we would have went back to school we wouldn't we wouldn't be here so definitely shout out to you guys to 100 episodes no we wouldn't have and we definitely wouldn't have had the Jonas fathers on the show. The Jonas fathers are on this episode. So, wow, I got really, yeah, the Jonas Brothers are on this episode. I'm going to cry again. Yeah, I'm going to cry again because just thinking about the fact that, like, we touched the Jonas Brothers.

And not in that way, but like, we like hug them for a second time. We touched the Jones brothers. You know, like, we touched them. Yes, we are in that way. But we had physical contact with them. It just, it's amazing. And thank you for you guys. Thank you.

this whole podcast like starting from the beginning yeah we talk about how we got here and then you listen to the Jonas brothers it sounds like the most fake like thing of all time even if you told either of you like last month six months ago when you were like dancing on the table when they got back together like oh you're gonna interview them

like oh no I and I also want to say that we did talk about interviewing them and how like you were like it's never going to happen and I know I saw somebody tweeted they were like listening to our episode from like this summer and they were like of us imagining what we would say to them we didn't say anything and I yeah and I want to say that

no I did not ask them when they they lost their virginities like I said that was a joke like are you kidding me on I don't have that big of balls. No, not even close. You think I was going to sit there and ask them that? I mean, honestly, like this, for some backstory, like this event and going to Denver and meeting them came together like two weeks ago.

Like, not even, like it was, I would say we found out we were going to Denver 10 days before we left. So like, we had absolutely no idea that this was going to happen, that it was going to kind of like work together with our 100th episode. so it was just really like weirdly beautiful and poetic yeah like an awesome coincidence that this ended up working where we could have this hundred episode and interview them and have it all happen at one time

So we all around. We use things together that even we don't know about our own lives. Exactly. Yeah, so finally you guys are here. This has been a long time coming for us, not for you guys. I mean, we've been wanting you on the show. A short time coming for us.

A short time coming for you. Actually, one of the first things I said when we talked about the marketing, the whole campaign was we got to do chicks in the office. Kevin, I did say that. have you here and you're back on tour, obviously been to a few shows. What's it like being on tour now? Because you guys went from kind of just chilling out a little bit and now it's just very hectic every day. It's a big change. I mean, for all of us at different points in our lives at this moment, you know, the biggest, I think kind of common threat is balancing our lives at home and specifically our families outside of our family as brothers. That's new and takes them adjusting. But the reality is that we build a community on the road of the people we like spending time with. We were really conscious this tour to make sure that the quality of life amidst everything else was high and that we were doing things that kept us inspired, that we were having

fun, and also taking some time off within the tour schedule just to go and do cool things like this and making sure that, you know, we're conscious of the fact that our show is going to be better every night if, first of all, our relationships are thriving, and that's our wives and just kids, but also, you know, the people that we have around us, but also if we're inspired and doing cool shit. And that's kind of what's happening. Right. Kevin, how has it been for you? Because obviously, the kids can't be everywhere you go. Yeah. They're in school now. Yeah, she started kindergarten. Alina did. It's a change because they were with us all of August, which was really cool. You know, this is the first tour they've ever done, we've ever done with the

kids. It was definitely a different environment. My room was just a playroom. Yeah. Like full of toys and like fake kitchens and, you know, right on. We used to have the ride on toys. You used to have like segways. Yeah. And the backstage. Now it's just our kids, my kids having ride on toys backstage. It's great. But it's definitely something to get used to being away from home because for like five years, I really was just kind of home, kind of living that life, which was amazing. And I'm so happy I was able to be a part of that. But now having them experience this part of the world, of what our world is. is really nice, but also it's hard.

I fly home as much as I can. I'll like say we have a day off, not yesterday, but a couple days ago. Get up at 5 a.m., fly home, turn it around the next morning, you know, be home for 18 hours, but at least you're there. Right. And you've got to do it and you've got to put the time in. But it's actually helps me do a better job. Yeah, right.

It's all about the balance. Totally. And it's hard. There isn't much of a balance. We work a lot. We do a lot of shows in a week. But it's so gratifying. Seeing the fans every night.

And they know what I'm doing, and they're very supportive. and they come out as much as they can. Yeah, that was what I wanted to get into. Obviously, your fans haven't seen you guys on tour in a very long time. How has the fan response been at the show? Is it what you expected? Is it more than what you expected? It's definitely more than what we expected.

Yeah. I think when we put the initial announcement out that we were coming back, it was kind of immediate fans that were really excited. But to find out that there were so many fans out there who maybe were, like, embarrassed to say they were fans for a long time or were secret about it. And to see those fans now realizing they're old enough to just love the kind of music that they love throughout the high school years and middle school years, I think a lot of people, even for myself, I would have my CD player in the bus, and I would have a collection of CDs that I would listen to, but everybody would see what you're listening to.

Now you have your iPhone, well, it was iPod and the iPhone, and it doesn't really matter what you listen to, right? So I think people had that confidence to just be excited to be a fan of music. And so to see the gross, the amount of people that we've seen at these shows has been insane. I mean, we've had to add shows as well, which you guys were aware of. And it's been really exciting for us and overwhelming. And it's flying by pretty fast. We're already more than halfway through this year of the touring. But it feels really nice to do it on our own terms.

I mean, that's the biggest difference of when we were younger was that things were happening so fast for us. and we had no time to stop and enjoy our daily touring life. Like Nick said, now we take the time to hang out with good friends and fly with them to the next city or just say, you know what, let's go do a cool tour of Coors Light because we're a big fan. And we actually do those things instead of talking about them. And so that's the biggest difference, I think. Yeah. So we are actually at the Coors Brewery right now.

You're cool in making this happen Yeah But now you guys can drink at the shows You can drink with your fans What's that like now Because everyone's growing up It was kind of shocking You know you mentioned the show at the box

Which was the I think the first show In front of an audience That we played back And we came out, and it was a small room. So small, yeah. So small, yeah. And to be honest, we had had a few drinks before the show just to cut the nerves. Yeah.

We're nervous to get back up there. I had maybe more than a few. Kevin, did you though? Because you fake the shots, no? He does fake. Not that night, though. No, you guys, I think you guys were taking real shots that night. I remember you guys didn't take any such thing.

It did not have any. The reality is, we looked out and we saw, oh, my God, these fans grew up miraculously, grew up as well. We did, they did. And then, you know, at these shows, the happiness begins tour, the bigger show, it's been really special to actually have that moment after this song of ours, I believe, where we talk kind of quickly about, like, our experience in a city or, you know, how different these shows are now when they were back then. And the biggest difference at the end of it is that our fans are drinking and hanging out with us. And you can tell these are people that work really hard. They're either, you know, in college, finishing college, or they're working

adults who have spent their money to come to a show and have a great night out with their friends. And that means the world to us that they would take that time out, spend their money. And, you know, I know that when I go out with my friends and go see a show, I'm going to have a drink and enjoy. And I'm so glad that we get to share that with them. And we obviously always encourage responsible drinking. Of course. Of course. Everybody drink responsibly. It's important. But I think that, you know, it's special to be in a spot where the fans have grown. And then there's this whole other new fan base because Sucker was, you know, came out and I think people thought we were a new band.

Those that were not even more yet when we first started. So, you know, there's a younger fan base again as well, which is so great to see them learning the old music thinking it's new. Right. And, you know, it's like a new generation of Jonas fans, and it really means a lot to us. Yeah, it is great because it really is such a fun way to hang out. Like, I have a group of girls that I have become friends with,

literally just because we have all been fans for so long. We go to shows together. That's awesome. So it's really fun. Fran brought just like one time just this girl showed up and I'm like oh who is this and friends like oh I met her at the Jonas Brothers show I was like that's one of my friends

at my Jonas Brothers chat she was like Fran that's kind of weird I was like maybe I hear more than anything else is people like come in the meet and greet or won't meet out to just say I've met some of my best friends just from being a fan for so long and then the other part which is amazing is that you know the biggest learning curve for us has been I think Joe or Kevin

mentioned it you know I think back in the day given the fact that we were in some ways like a boy band even though we'd play our instruments and write our songs a little bit different um not a lot of choreography there was some guys that i think were embarrassed to admit they were a fan yeah but as you get older like like we all do you start to become more comfortable with who you are you're not worried about people's opinion of you and if you like a song you like a song totally and it's so great to look out and see guys come to the show with their friends ready to party have a great time and enjoy music that they were probably embarrassed to enjoy back in the day and we're kind of

in on that joke with them in a sense of like it's kind of cool, enjoy the show, have fun. We recognize you really wanted you then, and you're living your best life now. And we were catching a word that, like, year 3,000 and burning up kind of became, like, college turn-up songs. Oh, 100%. You know, and people who, like, were in college when you guys were at that stage of broken up, like, yeah, you want to get a party going.

You throw out your 30,000. And I'll say that even our guy friends, like, when we go to your shows, they're jealous. They're like, oh, shit, should we buy tickets quickly? I love that. They should. I remember my little brother who always laughed because my little sister

have always been huge fans and when Sucker came out he texted me he was like, Fran, sucker is a bop. He was like, this is so good. So it totally is. And then I want to talk to you guys about the set list

because you have made like a fan request part of the show which I think is really cool and I think a lot of people go to shows of bands or artists that they've always been a fan of and they want them to play

the new stuff, but they want to hear some of the old stuff. How did you guys kind of manage the balance? I'm sorry. I think we're going to say the same thing. We went to a Garth Brooks show. Is that the same thing? And so we got really inspired by his show. And I don't know if you've seen that live show or if anyone out there has seen him.

I know he plays the hits. We were losing our minds. It was so amazing but one of the best things about it. It was Fran at a Jonas Brothers show. Let's be exactly clear of what's happening. And yeah, we made friends. we invited him to our work. So we freaked out because what we thought was so inspiring by that concert.

And this was during the breakup years for us. So Nick and I went just as brothers, as friends, to see this concert. We kept being like, damn, that's so incredible what he did. He does a fan call-out moment. And he'll ask people questions. Like, what's your name? Where are you from? What's one of your favorite songs?

And it was impressive that he got up there and just started playing it. Any song from any point in history. I mean, it's more impressive the fact that he's, do. For me, at least he said he could remember the lyrics. Personally, I was like, that's really impressive. But we challenged ourselves on this tour, and we said we should try to do something special to make every city different. Whether we play the same song twice or three times, because that's what we heard in the audience. Some people make signs. Some people call out, hey, please play this one.

And we try to, also in meet and greets, we'll hear a lot of people request songs, and we'll be like, all right, so we got like five today requests of BB Good, for example. and then if we feel like in the moment, that's the one we'll play. So be it. It's rare that we'll try to really plan it out because we want it to be authentic. I mean, of course, there's a lot of songs. There's about 230-some songs we have now in our catalog, and we want to make sure we do it justice. So we, every once in a while we sit around and just play a bunch of these songs,

just in case. But we do feel inspired in the moment to just play them. Has there been one you guys messed up? Oh, yeah. Sure. Yeah, most of them. Like two nights ago, there was one. that we were a little like, I was definitely not fully prepared to play.

And so at a certain point, I just stop and just let it go. We have about 200-something songs. It's a lot to remember. Totally. We kind of set each one up with like, hey, we're going to do our best here, but we probably won't get this right. You just go like this with a microphone. Here, sing, your turn. Just set them up for failure so that they're happy with whatever they get.

Yeah, exactly. Nick is saying that humbly, but the truth is he can remember every. song, every lyric, and play it on the drop of hat. And also kind of expects you to do the same, which is not going to happen. Exactly. Exactly. So

it's one of those moments of me and you're like, maybe not that one. There was one time recently where we really just couldn't decide, but we were having a conversation with our eyes, the three of us, without talking about it. Like, we just couldn't decide what song we actually were going to play. It took like a little longer than it should have for us to select a song.

When in doubt, we just played Just Friends. Yeah. I think, yep. That's the one. No, too. It's a one. You guys mentioned your breakup years, and obviously you did the documentary, and it was mentioned that Nick, you broke up the band, but you also got them back together.

Sweet, sweet redemption. Yes. You redeemed yourself. What was it like trying to get everyone back together, and who was, like, the last person on board here? I mean, it was a bit of a journey, just because it didn't start with, what do you guys think? you want to give us a shot.

It was, you know, four or five years of just learning how to be brothers again after, you know, things kind of fell apart last time. And we had to focus on just our relationship and rebuilding and finding common ground outside of just the group and what we were doing there. So I think once we figured that dynamic out, it actually opened up the conversation in a pretty organic way. Where I first spoke to Kevin, and he was on board. I had to work Joe a little bit more, kind of tease it and sort of drop little hints. And then eventually I just said, listen to in, I'm ready to do this again. I don't know if you are, but I think we could crush it.

And he at first was like, no new music. I'll do it, but just play the old stuff. And then eventually he came around as well. And, you know, I'm glad he did because it's been a crazy year. Yeah, seriously. Well, we are too. You guys just had a new single come out with Diplo. the music video is fantastic.

It's very funny. The only complaint I have is the song is way too short. It's a little short. As far as songs run, I was like, what the heck? Surprisingly, Sucker's pretty short, too. Yeah, that's, that is. That's why I've played Sucker a million times. That's kind of our idea.

Yeah, that's kind of idea. Radio these days plays short songs. That's true. The whole town road is very short. Yeah. It's so small. We try to adapt. We try to adapt to what was going on out there, but it was a fun collaboration.

What was that? Obviously, the music video was the idea of Diplo kind of filming your wedding and whatever he did. Whose idea was it to like to do that? The story about this song is like, totally basins truth. The first song Nick and I wrote together since the band broke up in minds for the Jones Brothers was the song. diplos. This was like, it's almost a two-year-old song. Wow. Okay. And we've been working with him

on this record for what feels like years and years. Just trying to change it up here and there. And then all the personal things happened between us where like, you know, he's filming my wedding and it was quite funny, then it wasn't funny, that it was funny again. And then it was just like we got to do something special

for this video and he obviously hacked us and then started posting a bunch of stuff. And that's why our hate love relationship with Diplo lives on. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Were you actually mad at Diplo?

I feel like this is something everybody is wondering. Like, was it a joke? Was it, it a little bit of both? I mean, I was pretty drunk the night that it happened. So I feel like it was just funny. And then I woke up. I was like, damn, everybody knows. Really great.

Yeah, I blocked it immediately. Yeah, I was like, geez, Diplo, like, the whole live stream. But if you want to promote anything ever, just have him do it. Yeah, without you knowing. I mean, it ends up being great for the music video. So that's great. Full circle. Yeah, exactly.

Exactly. Full circle. And besides the tour and your music, you're all working on separate things. We're here at Coors Brewery, like I said. Do you guys want to talk about what you've been doing here today? Oh. Yeah, I mean, this is very exciting stuff. Taste testing a lot of beer, but more importantly, we've been taste testing our beer.

Our own... Dun, don't, don't. We're going to do our own... Bollettled Jonas Brothers. course light batch so basically you have to go find it okay and so it's not going to be like it's gonna be a scavenger very limited but it's it's one of the far more exciting a collaboration to us than our diplo call oh yeah yeah yeah forget that guy this is this is diplo this is course life yeah it stops most of our collaborations ever um very exciting you know we like we said we've been fans for a long

time. And I think the thing that makes it so great to us is the fact that, you know, some of these relationships are sort of concocted and made to happen by the teams and agents and all that stuff. But this is like a really authentic, real relationship where we're just genuinely fans. Yeah. Yeah, all that Coors Light content that has been posted over the years has been truly authentic content, not just paid content.

It's something to get to come here. actually learn a bit, try to be a sponge and, you know, just observe and kind of be wowed by all of it. And then also start the process of kind of bottling our stuff and getting out there is really exciting. I miss all the other amazing things happening. And, you know, I think this is one of those, like, things will look back on in 50 years. And our kids would be like, wait, you did what? Yeah. And I'm going to have a Coors Light bottle with my face on it.

Yeah. Oh, I mean, I hope you all. If nothing else do it happens this year. The packaging is literally our face. The face is how cool with the sunglasses in the Rockies. I don't know. We haven't seen it yet. I think there's a bottle of it. There's a prototype.
