Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners. You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music. This is state of emergency. What's up, everyone? It's Chicks in the Office with Rianne Fran, giving you that Friday energy on a Monday. Welcome to our 500th episode. Big number.
Starting point is 00:00:33 5-0-0. Lots of talking. So much talking. We can't stop talking. Cannot stop. We can't be stopped. Don't stop us now because we're going to keep going. Don't stop us now.
Starting point is 00:00:46 We will be at 1,000 very soon. We have some beautiful decorations. I feel like if you are listening to this episode, it's one that I would really recommend watching on YouTube because we have beautiful decorations around us, thanks to Sarah and Noah. Mostly Sarah. And we also have a fantastic interview with Jew Barrymore,
Starting point is 00:01:05 which we posted about last week. And people were like, you know, you really could have hyped this one up more. You can't win. You can't win. We can't win. We can't win. You hype one up too much. Then you're an idiot.
Starting point is 00:01:18 You hype one up. Not enough. You're also an idiot. I feel like the Amanda Hirsch just go with low expectations is just like the way to do it. We're just low expectations for you guys. And so when it's big, everybody's shocked and excited. Because when we play it the other way is the real. reverse reaction. Exactly. And this is a better reaction. This is a way better reaction. Thank you all for
Starting point is 00:01:43 your excitement. I was really excited after seeing all that. And I truly think it's one of, if not our best interview we've ever done. It's very insightful. It's not one of those, oh, tell me about your movies. Tell me what you're promoting. None of that. None of that happened. It was just very insightful, personal. Life thoughts. Life. It was amazing. Drew is a delight. Nothing but a delight. Yeah. She pet my arm. during her podcast and it's all I wanted. She pet my arm. She gave her one of these.
Starting point is 00:02:13 She was like scratching my arm. And before we did the interview, I said to Katie and Jillian who work on our booking team, I said, do you think she'll like scratch my arm? Like that's all I want. I was kind of joking. Like I was just saying it because she's like a nurturing mother figure in her podcast. She started scratching my arm. And I was like, this is all I wanted.
Starting point is 00:02:35 And that was my main takeaway. I'm kidding. She was... You sound like a dog. You're like, oh, hey, it's like the best feeling ever, but like when someone like so nurturing is like,
Starting point is 00:02:44 you just feel so safe. Yeah, I just felt so safe with Drew. And she's also a ton of fun. It wasn't intimate gesture. It was very intimate. And I was like, oh my God,
Starting point is 00:02:52 she feels so comfortable to be petting me like this. Amazing. No, it was very nice. She was very complimentary. She's very sweet. That's another reason why you should watch YouTube because there's a bunch of behind the scenes
Starting point is 00:03:02 vlog type stuff that's not going to be in the audio version. Yes. So we filmed. behind the scenes vlog stuff. That's how we word it at the interview that wouldn't make a full vlog. So we just included it in the episode on YouTube. So you could see Drew walking in, walking out, going into her studio,
Starting point is 00:03:23 some behind the scenes filming of TikToks that we did that were funny. So check it out, guys. Please go ahead and listen. I know I just said I wouldn't be hyping stuff up, but we have one TikTok that is. absolutely phenomenal I think it's phenomenal it's also in the episode on YouTube
Starting point is 00:03:41 which was very funny and we're so thankful that Drew did it for us Yep exactly But 500 episodes It's been it's been a blast My It happens so fast It's been a blast and that's it for us
Starting point is 00:03:55 It just wraps it up so fast Wouldn't that be crazy Like 300 really doesn't seem long ago at all Feels like last year A year ago on Saturday was the wisdom Tree Hike That's crazy really brought me back.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Like that was a great time. Like even though it was miserable, you still say you're going to do it again. I said if we go back to California and the weather is like appropriate, I will do it again. The conditions have to be perfect. It's not, it's just like,
Starting point is 00:04:22 it made me reminisce on how nice my afternoon was when you guys, when you guys, I was like, oh yeah, that was when I had the whole house for myself and I read my book and I blasted Christmas music. But for content purposes, I was really happy that happened. Like it was awful in the moment But we laughed like
Starting point is 00:04:39 Devin and I being stuck in the dark Like just on that mountain is a memory I'll never forget Like we had such a great Yeah like and they were like You might want to start heading back like it gets really dark I kept saying like it's no don't worry Like we're almost there and then you asked someone
Starting point is 00:04:56 They're like halfway Yeah and I was like oh fuck this I'm turning around And people we posted on Saturday And some people were asking like I guess they missed maybe they're missed the story, missed the podcast story. Why would you hike in slippers? Why would you do that?
Starting point is 00:05:10 I said, that was not the plan. I was bamboozled by Noah. Totally bamboozled. Hike in those slippers and I wouldn't take it back for the world. I wouldn't. I wouldn't. I had, like, that's a great memory. It was awful in the moment, but also funny.
Starting point is 00:05:26 Like, we were laughing a lot about it. But torture. That one sound bite I always think of is when we're like walking. You're like, damn, shut the, fuck up on the other slippers. It was a lot of fun. But I will do it now because I have been
Starting point is 00:05:43 working out consistently. I feel like I have a little more I've been training for this hike that I feel like I have a little more power in me to get through it where there was I think you would have been able to still get through it fine if you just had sneakers on. Probably. I was in long. I think you still would have been totally
Starting point is 00:06:00 fine. I was in long sweatpants that went below my feet and platform slippers. Not even regular slippers. No, yeah. Platforms slippers. I really think if you just had the right equipment, you would have still, you could have been tough at a certain point. Walking up the hill just to get to the hike was brutal. I think you would have gotten through it. We were, we were racing against the clock. The sun was setting. Yeah. Come on. Let's go. And then we blame that on why we didn't win the people's choice award because you went up there, made a wish.
Starting point is 00:06:28 Yeah. But you were like, but we all didn't go up there. But we all didn't go up there. So as a group, you know that's why i'm a chamberlain one yeah but that was a lot of fun those were i think that that that trip was good that was a good trip i'm thinking about every l a trip was a lot of fun we haven't been in a while what are you're like top top five top five top three top hot top i can name a bunch of episodes i love the jonas bellers one is an obvious choice if you're a new listener to this and you miss the jonas brothers the drunk jonas brother's a pen state which we will never listen back? I literally just had this conversation. I was at the, um, I went to the Eagles game and I was with my friend Bridget and her, she's probably listening. Her family's probably listening. She, with her whole family.
Starting point is 00:07:15 And we're talking about Drew Barrymore. She's like, oh my God, it's so exciting. And her mom was like, still my favorite episode is with you guys after the Joe's brothers. And I was like, I was getting on to the train with Bridget. I was like, Bridget, I still have never listened to that episode and I don't think I ever will be able to. We never can, but everyone else out there can enjoy it. The Justin Bieber is just an obvious. There's some sneaky, like, really good episodes that don't
Starting point is 00:07:41 have huge moments, but it's hard to think of those when... When there's 500 of them, it's hard to be like... I think I would need a full refresher. Like, between 100 and 300, I feel like there was a ton of stuff that I just... And it was a lot of radio stuff. Oh, well, Frenchmont... I wouldn't even call that a favorite.
Starting point is 00:07:59 He was at... I was at the Celtics came last time, and he was there. They put him up on the screen. You almost confront him? I was like, whoa. You should have confronted him. Remember when you thought we were trying to say that you were gay, French Montana? Like, that was so wild.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Like, he really thought that I was trying to stay that him and Drake were gay. He was the one who started making people have that thought. Right, because he brought it out, it's like, yo, I wasn't going there, but why are you going there? Yeah, that was terrible. Remember he was, like, sitting in a van outside for, like, an hour? And they, like, had to force him to come in here. I'm trying to think of some other ones that were standouts or what our listeners say are standouts, but it's always the usual, the drunk.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Oh, Devin, we're matching. Hey, Devin. Are we? Oh, my God. You know our matching today. We were just talking about the wisdom tree hike. I said I wouldn't take it back for the world. Would you?
Starting point is 00:08:49 No. No. Just for our memories. Yeah. I mean, I think anything like that, though, is like, it sucks in the moment, but then it's like, well, this was a great story. Yeah, this was great for the podcast purposes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:00 So we need to do more things that hurt us and then that we can talk about it on the podcast. We'll be more adventurous. Yeah. Out of your comfort zone. Hey, that's a whole difference. That's a whole different conversation out of my comfort zone thing. Yeah. When it's not about like I get nervous, like I was nervous meeting Drew Barrymore.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Yeah. That's just nerves. Yes. Going on the wisdom tree hike is like funny, you know, torture. Right. That's not out of my comfort zone for me. I guess it was more the way you feel. framed it. Like, it was like you, when you said, you just were like, I just like to. I like being
Starting point is 00:09:35 comfortable. I like to do what I do. You put on your story though this past weekend or whatever that you're a creature of habit as well. I am a creature of habit. Yeah, so you can't. It's, it's kind of the same thing. Yeah, I guess a little bit. I meant more of like, like that's taking hikes out on mountains is not something we normally do. No, but I would say I'm a little bit adventurous. Yeah. I'm trying to think. What else have we been adventurous on trips? We're not exactly an outdoorsy group. Oh, I mean, we start doing it more.
Starting point is 00:10:08 The waterfall. Oh, the waterfall. Oh, the waterfall. Yeah, I mean, like that whole trip we did like. Kevin and I didn't do that. Oh, the ATVing was sick. Yeah, it was awesome. The ATVing was really cool.
Starting point is 00:10:18 Yeah. I did like, um. The waterfall was nice. Yeah, I forgot about the ATVing. That was fun. Yeah. Uh, I guess that's it. I'm trying to think of other, like, physical.
Starting point is 00:10:28 Oh, we went ice skating, like way, way there. Oh, yeah. When I was just us three. Sledding. Yeah. Ice skating, I will never go ice skating again. We went to those ice towers. That was brutal.
Starting point is 00:10:40 I remember that. It was so cold that I couldn't see my hands. That was. That was Minneapolis for the Super Bowl, and that was absolutely frigid. But that was fun. And even if my kids want to go ice skating, they're not going. What? Oh.
Starting point is 00:10:54 I just want to see your guys' reaction. You guys really think of a monster like that. I'm obviously going to take my kids ice skating if they want to go ice skating. I really want to do ice skating is so fun. Imagine we did like a skiing. No, I'm not. I will not go skiing. No, we're skiing.
Starting point is 00:11:12 I would go skiing, but skiing is dangerous. I would go in the house. Like I'd be like I drink in the lodge. But you won't catch me on that mountain. You won't. Any way I can protect myself from dying, I will. Doesn't sound very adventurous. I'm adventurous if I want to do it.
Starting point is 00:11:31 I'm adventurous as long as... No, here's the thing. I'm adventurous as long as it's warm. Like, I like warm summer, like jet skiing. Like, I like summer activity, hiking, a beautiful weather. Venturous has a lot of criteria. I like skiing. I think you would honestly...
Starting point is 00:11:49 You would enjoy it, I think. I've been skiing recently. I don't like skiing at all. Not at all. I hate skiing. I hate it. You're not going to convince me that I will like skiing. I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I hate being really cold. What about like snow tubing? Yeah. Oh, those snow tubing. Sit in the tube and somebody takes you? Yeah, that's a blast. Okay. But skiing itself, we have found common ground.
Starting point is 00:12:12 What? Maybe you're a snowboarder. No, no, no. You don't know how many people? Us and a snowboarding. Thank you. That's cool. Us and a snowboarding lesson would be very funny.
Starting point is 00:12:24 It would be, but you guys, I'm telling you, I almost crashed into a tree when I went skiing. That's terrifying. People die. Well, yeah, you got to, we'll stick to the bunny slope. Is that actress who died? Oh, stop. The girl from Meet the Fathers.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Is that? Oh, or is it the one from the parent trap? No, the mom from the parent trap. Yes. The mom from the parent trap. I thought you said that she was in a show. That's not the mom. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:12:48 I never saw the parent traps. You never saw the parent trap? You've never seen the parent trap with Dennis Quaid and Lindsay Lohan? I don't think I've ever seen the full video. The full video. I've never seen a full movie. I've seen obviously clips and probably caught some of it on TV or something. Really?
Starting point is 00:13:06 I don't know. Your mom, your sister never threw on the parent track. That's what I'm saying. It's been on. I've never been like I'm watching. My mom and I've watched the parent drop at least 50 times. Like that is just... I know it's a classic.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Natasha, she got into a skiing accent. She was married to Liam Neeson. Was they, were they married when it happened? It's that and, riding horses because of the full the full house finale. Michelle's riding a horse. She falls off. She loses two very different things.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Two very opposite directions. You guys just went in. She lost her memory. And I saw that as a kid and it scarred me. Rio went full house video of full house episode where it was like a very light injury. Noah went Superman like full blown
Starting point is 00:13:51 paralyzed after the guy who played Superman. I don't know his name. Yeah. That's Getting paralyzed, I'd almost be like... Christopher Reeves. Okay, this is taking a dark turn, and this is like a really positive episode. And now we're just talking about all these things that could possibly happen to you if you participate in extreme sports.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Horseback riding is... Horseback riding, you should try. Maybe on like a beautiful beach somewhere. That's scary. Yes. Like horseback riding on a little, on a trail ride, on a beach, something really easy. You don't need to be like galloping down anywhere. But just something easy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Put me back on a jet stream. Have you ever been on... When you go to this, you know. been like when you were a kid been on a camel remember I didn't really go to the zoo until the San Diego Zoo? Oh yeah that's true I was terrified of
Starting point is 00:14:35 Which was a really fun time I don't think I've ever heard of riding a camel at the zoo The Bronx Zoo when I was a kid we went on a field trip And like all the kids were put on it And I remember just like I think I was like hysterically crying Like I don't want to go on the camel Yeah No not never been on a camel
Starting point is 00:14:53 No I haven't been on a lot of animals I don't think I'm on the There's really only so many that you can ride A dolphin You've been on a dolphin They're on its nose They like They like ride you
Starting point is 00:15:09 Or whatever What is it called? You do that in like Atlanta's right Swimming with the dolphins It's very simple Swimming with the dolphins In Atlantis Bahamas My pants fell down
Starting point is 00:15:20 My bathing suit bottoms fell down It's on tape Yeah Can't control where that dolphin often takes you. No. I would do that again. Starting point is 00:15:52 and forgetting to unsubscribe. And that's kind of the worst thing. you get an email and all of a sudden you're like, oh my God, I'm still subscribed to this. That's where Rocket Money helps you out. Rocket Money can even find subscriptions you didn't even know you were paying for, or you may even be double charged for a subscription. Get rid of those unwanted subscriptions because I'm telling you, you're probably spending money on stuff that you don't even know. you're spending money on anymore. So once again, go to rockatmoney.com slash chicks. You have an eyelash?
Starting point is 00:16:35 Oh, I'm going to make a wish. I make the same wish every single eyelash and 1111. Very symbolic to be making a wish on this 500th episode. No, give it a good blow. It's stuck on there. I got nervous. My God, it's really stuck. It's not going to come true.
Starting point is 00:16:54 It's my wish every time. Come on. Oh, my God. Don't touch it. No, let me just move it a little because I think I, like I got, there we go. I loosened it up. There we go. I was spit there.
Starting point is 00:17:08 It's the same one every time. Do you guys do that? What wish? No, I changed mine up. What do you mean? Every single time, your whole life? Like when you catch an 11-11 on your phone, you make a wish. In the past year, it's been the same exact wish.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Has no one ever done the eyelash, make a wish? No, no, they have. She's saying it's the same wish every time. Yeah, she makes the same wish every time, but it's not a very specific wish. It's like good health. Broad. It's broad. It's broad gratitude.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Yeah. It's more nice. It's not like I want a Xbox. No, no. It's not like I want this specific thing. It's more like a generalization. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hope.
Starting point is 00:17:43 A moment to reflect. Because I was going to say, if it's the same wish all the time, then it doesn't come true. Or maybe it does and you have to keep it going. Well, this has become a thing now where I keep it going because I'm like, if I stop, what if it doesn't come, what if, you know? At this pace, I don't want to be greedy with my wishes. No. You know? Have you ever seen,
Starting point is 00:18:01 I know you haven't seen that movie because I know that it's been in trivia bedazzled with a, what's his name? He's back. Everyone loves him, the actor, he's,
Starting point is 00:18:10 Brandon Fraser. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's back. Everyone loves him. He's in a new movie, right? He's back.
Starting point is 00:18:17 He's making a comeback, yeah. I actually knew exactly you were talking about when he said that. What was, oh, I was going to ask, at this pace that we're at, when do we hit a thousand?
Starting point is 00:18:29 few years? Three episodes a year? Do the math. Well, 300 was last summer. Right. But when we were at 300, we were still two episodes? No, we were three episodes. No, we were doing three episodes.
Starting point is 00:18:41 I think we started, like, right at 300 for three episodes. Like that same week. No, because we were back in the office. No, because I remember we had a 300 episode, and I think that week, like the bachelor started. Didn't we start doing three episodes in COVID? 3,205 days? Wait, what? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Three years. Three years, a little over three years. Wait, to get to a thousand. Oh my gosh, that's a long time. It is a long. Bless you. Oh. What, um...
Starting point is 00:19:06 Three years. No, we definitely went... I thought we went to three in COVID. No, it was like right after COVID week. It was like one of our first times back. We came here. I remembered this and Trent was on the podcast. No.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Just 400 maybe. No, we started doing three episodes while we were in COVID. We definitely did. Because we were in COVID and said, let's start doing three episodes. Yeah, that's why we saw. started the three episodes in the first place. Yes, that's why we started three episodes a week. Okay. I don't know. Yeah. Do I, I think I, I think I'm ready to lock that in at 98% sure. Yeah. I'm, I'm gonna leave 2% yeah. Just because you never want to be 100% about anything in my friend.
Starting point is 00:19:45 You're right. You're right about that. Give a little room to wiggle. Yeah. How are you? 500. I'm great today. Uh, woke up right away, you know, didn't hit snooze. Yeah. I did hit snooze. couple times. But I... You live close. I do live close. I do live close. I also have...
Starting point is 00:20:07 This sounds bad, but I don't think I've been awake so early on the weekends in... For soccer. Years. For the soccer. And then to go down to the Eagles game, it was like two Saturday and Sunday mornings, like putting makeup on it 8 a.m. meant 7.30 a.m. I was like, I've not done this in maybe ever.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Yeah. This on a Saturday and Sunday. Worth it, though. Besides the, besides the soccer, I was disappointed. I didn't watch. I watched. I got semi-blocked out on Friday and then woke up at 9.50 a.m. on Saturday. And I, nine, five, I literally looked at my clock at 9.50.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I said 10 minutes to game time. I basically rolled down to the living room. Yep. and watch the game. Yeah. The match? I watched the match. Severely hung over.
Starting point is 00:21:04 But I had a great night. Yeah, I couldn't even really have a... I was at a bar and everyone was like, oh, friend, you need a drink. I'm like, no. I was still so tired. And I hadn't eaten yet. I was like, if I have one sip of any alcoholic beverage, I'm going down. I was like, I'm probably going to faint.
Starting point is 00:21:20 I just have a water at this moment. I made a lot of girlfriends Friday night. So shout out to all the girls I met. Love that. A lot. And they, I, you know. actually I saw Glenn turn to Tommy at one point ago it's awesome having her at the table
Starting point is 00:21:34 because I just bring all the girls over had a bunch of girls I looked over I said oh my god where all these girls come from at one point like I felt like a pimp like I was just having everybody join you sure they weren't there just for Tommy it was probably it was probably that but I had loads of fun and I loved meeting all these wonderful nice ladies so you know yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:21:56 oh not to bring vibes down again, but I was very sad that Noodle died. The pug. That was very upsetting. That news came right after the USA lost. It was like USA lost. And then my sister texted our group chat and was like, guys, noodle died. It's like, this is just 14 and a half though.
Starting point is 00:22:17 That's a good life for a dog. It's a good life for a dog. Yeah, we started making bets on when Oreo's going to die recently. Oreo's up there now. No, I know. That sounds awful. but he's been around for so long. So my grandpa got him when I was in sixth grade.
Starting point is 00:22:33 So we'll do the math on that. But then he became my, so then my... 16. No, sixth grade. Sixth grade? Sixth grade, I was like 11. No, I'm saying like 16 years since. Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Starting point is 00:22:45 I was like, yeah. So you were probably 11. Yeah. So my grandpa got sick for a little bit and my, and had to like get surgery. And so my sister watched the dog and then ever since then never even... And then never...
Starting point is 00:22:58 gave the dog back. So that's how Oreo became our dog. But we were looking at him and we were like So he was probably around 14. Yeah, he's getting up there and so we took bets on even my grandpa did. My grandpa was there too because we were like me and my brother
Starting point is 00:23:16 Marty my cousins were like kind of whispering about it. We were like what do you think he's going to like in the nicest way possible? And my grandpa was like what are you guys talking about? And we were like no no it's okay. And he was like, what? And we told him, we were like, well, we're kind of just throwing out dates of when we think Oreo was going to die. And he threw out a date.
Starting point is 00:23:36 We thought he was going to get upset. And he was like, no, it's coming. Do you remember when Fenway was like, it was like when the Red Sox were playing in the playoffs. And I sent out a tweet. I think the Red Sox were losing. It was like a heart monitor or something. Yeah. Well, Fenway died the same week as our 300 episodes.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Do you remember that? Yeah. Because I was actually wearing this exact. Fenway died on that day on our 300th episode. So hopefully Oreo makes it out alive today, 500. Oh my God. But Fenway did die because I was wearing this shirt. I remember I made a video about Fenway dying in this shirt,
Starting point is 00:24:12 which is a weird thing to remember. Fenway held on for a lot of years longer than we thought. And that's why we think Oreo is like really going to hold on. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry, that got depressing. I know. But it wasn't, it sounds really mean to be like we're taking bets on when the dog's going to die.
Starting point is 00:24:27 that sounds really yeah you know i i would say you like certain members of your family have a an attachment to oreo and certain don't and i'll be honest that's fine i'm not one that has an attachment to oreo exactly it's it's oreo has lost his personality yeah i still love him yeah but norman's in the picture when they get older It's not, and I never really had a huge attachment to Oreo because my sister just like took, like, I don't know. Mean Oreo never got that close. This sounds awful. This sounds so mean.
Starting point is 00:25:08 People are like he's a dog. You should love. Mean Oreo never had that bond. Yeah, you never clicked. We never clicked. And yes, I will be very sad when he goes because. Yeah. It is what it is.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Anyways. Anyway. He'll make it through today, I know. Yeah, definitely. As soon as this ends, I get a call. That would actually be crazy. That would be Norman telling you, or going to communicate,
Starting point is 00:25:31 or it's going to haunt you from the other side. Norman was so cute this weekend. He is adorable. Yeah. No, early mornings, Eagles game. Eagles game was so fun. It's just a, you go to a game and they just dominate. You get drunk or what?
Starting point is 00:25:49 Like, I had one of those days where. Did you pound some beers or what, bro? Yeah. No, I was pounding beers, but. hard oh i just some days like i just how many how many beers specifically you know if you just you drink on like saturday day we're out and then i was out to dinner for birthday Saturday night and that like Saturday night i was having a good time but going to just drinking beer sometimes I feel like there was no effect.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Like I was having a great time, but I could have just kept drinking. I think it's also because it's over such a long period of time. Like it was, you know, 10.45 when we got to the parking lots, and then the game was over, you know, 3.30, 3.45. So at that point, it was like I only had so much. And when it's cold, I drink really slow. Something about being outside.
Starting point is 00:26:52 I also during the day, I feel like I get less drunk. I totally agree with you. I don't feel like I get drunk during the day. People are, I love day drinking. I drink during the day, I don't feel anything. Also, like, yeah, it's like, I never get hungover after a day of drinking. Like, I'll go home. I just don't know what happens, but I think it's because I'm, like, eating and, like, still drinking with water.
Starting point is 00:27:14 I, it was just, it was beers only, had some chicken pizza fries, chicken fingers. Yum. So good. So, so, so, it's a bunch of pretzels in the morning. Just, you know, Philly soft pretzels. And then they dominated the whole game. There wasn't one worry, the entire game, so it was delightful. Give us Super Bowl predictions.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Oh, I'm not, I'm not, no way. Superstitious. No, no, I'm not jinxing anything. I don't want to, I don't want to go back in... It's not about jinxing, it's about having confidence in your team. No, no, that's... My dad sent a text to our group chat last night that we all were like, What the fuck are you doing?
Starting point is 00:27:53 He's confidence. No, it's superstitious. Superstitious. Never mind then. I can't remember the last time I had a full beer. I am not a beer drinker. Maybe in the summer, like a nice corona or something. No more.
Starting point is 00:28:09 After that, though, it cuts off for me. I'm not like a, yeah, give me a beer, pal. What are you, though? You just take shots. Just rip shots. I just love taking shots. It's crazy. It's just rip shots only.
Starting point is 00:28:21 I like dinner drinks and I like taking shots I like a dirty martini an espresso martini a nice little cocktail mix cocktail on the menu they have something nice fruity when it's time to go shots
Starting point is 00:28:36 when it's go time I can't my problem now is I don't know if it's just because I'm like getting older or what it is but I cannot mix liquors like I anytime I start to
Starting point is 00:28:50 Oh Glass of wine And then a cocktail And then a glass of wine Like forget it I'm waking up the next day With a poundic headache A glass of wine is different
Starting point is 00:28:59 Like Once I throw a wine in the mix It's over for me Saturday I went Spock only Nice Straight to the point Spock only
Starting point is 00:29:08 Yeah I'm with you there And I felt like I didn't feel great Waking up at 7 a.m. Sunday But it could have been a lot worse I had the shakes This weekend
Starting point is 00:29:18 Oh that's brutal head that's severe. But one of those where it was worth it where I was like, you know what? I had such a fun time that I never think it's worth it to me. I didn't do anything on Friday night
Starting point is 00:29:29 so that definitely helped my weekend. I like planned ahead. I was like, I'm not doing anything Friday to prepare myself for Saturday and Sunday. But Friday, Joe and I got our Christmas tree and put up our lights and decorated. She's cute. She's six feet.
Starting point is 00:29:45 She fits comfortably in our living room. Six feet is cute. Six feet. It's a tall, tall, but she's, like, skinny. Like, she's not, like, you know, a big fat tree. How much is a tree running? Two of my friends got a eight foot, like, it is,
Starting point is 00:29:58 it could probably fill up this entire studio. Like, it's a fat tree. I was like, what did you guys carry that home? It's an insane, insane tree. How much is a tree cost? I never got real Christmas trees growing up. I only got fake ones. This is my little guy.
Starting point is 00:30:15 I saw it in your, be real. Yeah. It's cute. Cute. There she is. had the same fake tree for 20 years in my house and I was actually talking about this yesterday
Starting point is 00:30:24 I think I'm my bar car is that nice that is nice thank you really cute I think I'm going to carry that tradition fake tree of a fake tree which is no tradition you don't get the smell the smell the tree is the best part I love New York City in December because you walk down the streets it smells
Starting point is 00:30:40 yeah it smells like all the trees we've had this debate many times before part of this podcast are real tree people and part of fake tree person I have always been a fake tree person and I still feel the spirit of Christmas in my home. So I don't think I'd be depriving. You know, if you want to get the fake tree and light the candle, you get the smell. Yeah, fake tree. We still have personalized ornaments and stuff.
Starting point is 00:31:01 You know, we're not crazy people that just go pre-decorated tree with like pre-decorated lights and such. Like, we still have our own ornaments. Come on, I'm not crazy. But you get that fake tree down from the attic every year and you're good to go. Dust it off. Yeah, you just dust it off. And you're good to go. I have never got
Starting point is 00:31:21 Maybe if someone Maybe if someone took me to get a real tree I would have a different view Would you do Do you have a tree this year? So we were talking about it Well this is where the conversation came up Because Marty was like I've never
Starting point is 00:31:36 Is he a real tree guy? He's never had a fake tree He was like my mom Every year We would go and get the tree He's like but it's a real pain in the ass You gotta get the tree You gotta strap it to something
Starting point is 00:31:46 It's a whole thing Well do they have I mean, I'm sure they do the outside. Yeah, yes. Things, it's very easy. Can you not order a tree? Yeah, you can order one to be delivered. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:55 So we were talking about this and I was like, what if I said, I want a fake trade? And he said, that's completely fine. Yeah. He said, I have no. I have no attachment to the real trade. You should try it. Just like one time.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Try the real tree. See how you feel. Yeah, I got, I'm busy this week, Ros. That's why we did it on Friday. If it's going to happen, it's going to be this weekend. Yeah. But then it's like, I have Christmas decorations up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:26 But not, we don't have a tree right now. But I have cute little, we have cute little. You know, Christmas is in the air. I'm just saying. We'll have a tree at the live show. Think about getting the tree. There is something very, I think, romantic as well as going with your significant other, looking at all the trees.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Oh yeah. By the way, I live with Marty now. Yeah. That kind of glossed that over. I talked about it on Plan Brie. And then Fram was like, I was like, wow, gave Bree the exclusive. And I was like, oh, you gave Bree the exclusive. I said, that wasn't my plan.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Brie just said it. And I said, you guys make me feel really comfortable. So you might as well just tell everybody. I don't really care. Yes. But it's lovely. So I do think it is, there's something very romantic about now you guys are in the place. You go, you pick out the tree.
Starting point is 00:33:15 You carry it home together. Yeah. You decorate it together. I love the idea of that. I do. Like it's like when he throws that, there's something very sexy about he thinks that tree over his shoulder. Manly.
Starting point is 00:33:28 Walks down the sidewalk with it. Yeah, I'd like that. I'd like that a lot. Every year I take a selfie of Joe like carrying the tree. I'm like, look at my man carrying the tree. Oh, I would love that. I would, I would be hyping the shit. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Especially when you got like a nice big tree. Yeah. Oh my God, he's so manly in brawn. Have you ever seen the movie Sarah? Darnipity. Yes. Great movie. I just thought of that.
Starting point is 00:33:50 It's like Christmas. Fuck it. I might go get a tree tonight with him. Yeah. I'm just saying. I'm getting all robbed up thinking about it. It is something to think about.
Starting point is 00:33:58 I'm like sweating. I'm like, wow. He would look good carrying a tree. And then like it's very, it's sweet because then it's like, oh, this is our first tree and our home together. Yeah, that's beautiful. You got a,
Starting point is 00:34:08 I'll buy you guys an ornament. Oh my. Man, thank you. I have a, I got one last year that is like a little dormat. And it says like, new home. and like I put our names and like the date on the back of it. That's really cute.
Starting point is 00:34:20 And then when I went to hang it up this year, I was like, this is so cute. That's adorable. It's going to bring it to my eye. Well, think about it. Trust me, I'm thinking about it and I like it. Yeah. I like the idea of it.

No. My mom got a tree, though. My mom and brother think they're, or I guess my mom is half and half, but my brother really, like, we're Jewish.
Starting point is 00:36:09 But, like, he's like, oh, like, he... Yeah, but you guys still do Christmas. Yeah, I mean, my grandma's 100% Catholic. And we've always celebrated both. Your mom is half and half, right? Is what you said? I feel like it's the lineage when the mom is like fully Jewish. Like the kids are like always Jewish because it goes through the mom.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I don't know though because my dad is 100% Jewish and we are all raised. Yeah, well, I mean it's still a choice. But I think that a lot of times like. But I mean, I've said this a million times like Christmas is just through the mom. I'm Jewish but like Christmas is just a way better holiday. Do you have a menorah? Yeah, I mean, we still like the menorah at eight nights. No, I'm asking you specifically.
Starting point is 00:36:50 Oh, me? Like, do you have anything in your apartment? No, I have nothing. Oh. No, no holiday spirit in there whatsoever. No. Will you get a menorah for Hanukkah? Me, like myself?
Starting point is 00:36:59 Yeah. No. Okay. Scrooge, sorry. No, no, it's just like, I don't. No. No. None of those.

Starting point is 00:37:28 Talk about holiday spirit. Sure. He said, told me to go to Macy's. No, like the Macy's in the city in December. Yeah, I'm not going to find. It does. I agree with you on that. Most apartment stores do.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Yes. Something about Macy's in New York. Yeah, I know what you mean. But I probably won't find my outfit there. I have some things come. coming and I'm just going to go shopping today so I have some backups but I did have a dream about the live show last night and let me tell you pop and crowd but no alcohol in the green room whatever like brought my parents into the green room and they were like all right where's our

Starting point is 00:51:35 Yeah, that's crazy. And now 33, which is, I don't know why I just lied. What a weird thing to lie about. Congratulations on your 500th episodes. He's in front of a mic. He's like, yeah, I podcast. It's incredible. And I'm happy to be a part of like 100.
Starting point is 00:51:50 20 of those. Yeah. We can get a few more under our belt. Celebrate. Cheers. You guys are kicking ass. Chicks in the office. I'm gonna just, like, I'm not gonna fall in love. Whatever.

Starting point is 00:52:22 We probably would be. So I took all of us to the mall, and Tyler buys this exact same jacket. It's skin tight on him. And I was just like, shit, I love that jacket. We just wanted to say, copy 500 episodes. We love you guys so much. We love you, we miss you. We can't wait to be on 501.
Starting point is 00:52:46 I need to do our poor bus. So, soon. A thousandth episode. One day. Yeah, one day it'll happen. The tour trip that never happened. Congrats. One day we'll take the RV.
Starting point is 00:52:59 I'm thankful for my beautiful partner here. Oh my God. I can't even watch. I can't even watch that. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for each other. So we're so thankful to know each other and be friends. When you listen to the podcast, you get our Friday energy on Monday. Wow.
Starting point is 00:53:13 Friend, you know, you keep hitting us with those. I know. Sometimes I forget that I said that. Monday. That's all you need. Wow. Nine million tears streaming down my face. What an amazing video! That was the nicest thing ever.
Starting point is 00:53:36 That was so, so nice. Who did that? Chris? I know. How is it? Oh, yeah, no. So, well, shout out to our whole booking team. I was going to say the booking team had to help.
Starting point is 00:53:47 I had to reach out to like a select few because some just like weren't responding. Yeah. But yeah, there's like, I kind of like put together a list of. Just guess that made sense. That was so incredibly nice. The people that took time to make a video. All of our favorite people. And Trent couldn't take the time?
Starting point is 00:54:06 I didn't ask Trent because. Fuck Trent. No. Oh my God. That was really the nicest thing ever. That was way different than I expected. I'm going to watch that every day for the rest of my life. That was awesome.
Starting point is 00:54:19 Like so incredibly nice. I know. When they said video, I was like, oh, is this going to be like a compilation of funny moments? Of old stuff. Yeah. It was funny to watch my trip on. When Beck and Tanya showed up, I was like, did they film?
Starting point is 00:54:30 Like, was that something that I forget that they did. That was really nice. They said, happy five years ago. Yeah. And all of the... No, just the beginning part. All of the people who took the time to make a video is like, that's just so sweet. I feel so loved.
Starting point is 00:54:42 Howie Mandel. Howie. I thought he forgot about us. No. It's funny because I made the whole list and Howie Mandel was like the one name. We're like, Kelly here. First of all, I sent her like a billion nameset at first. Yeah, I mean, why would you?
Starting point is 00:54:56 narrow it down to 20 or like something and then I sent her and narrowed one she's like why is howie mandel on this list like why does that like it doesn't smart choice I was like yeah that was really good wow that was I'm gonna watch that again later and a couple times also like I can send you like the uh because we had to shorten some of them but like the raw shoutouts from each person like are a little longer yeah wow that was really nice all right let's get into the rest of the episode to just finish it off and then me and Fran can go cry about that even more. But thank you guys so much for listening to this show. Thank you for all the support, all the nice messages. Thank you for subscribing. Subscribe to us on YouTube. We love you guys so much. Starting point is 00:57:30 Yes. You're so official. How are you? Oh, thank you so much. I'm so sorry. Oh, my God. Hello. Not at all.
Starting point is 00:57:40 Nice to meet you. Thank you so much, Ria. I just want to make sure I don't know, shit in my teeth. Well, thankfully we have the mirror right there. I probably have stuff in my teeth. Yeah, that's good. I was joking that I curled my hair this morning and I thought, the back, no one will see the back if it's
Starting point is 00:57:56 And you're like right in front of the mirror. Thank you so much. Oh, I was trying to make that easier for you and I made it harder for you. Oh my God. What an amazing setup you guys have. Hi. What a huge production. It's very professional.
Starting point is 00:58:10 We feel very professional. Our setup is never this professional. And we're never this close to our guys. I mean, when you come into our room, it's going to like go down a notch. Well, honestly, I'm glad we're doing this here and you didn't come to our studio. It's like a closet. It looks nice on camera. But when you walk into it, it's like, well, it goes to show you like it's not style over substance.
Starting point is 00:58:33 Yep. So, your podcast is a juggernaut. You're highly successful. People are like loving what you do. So it's the right place and it's working. Yeah. Thank you. That's a great start.
Starting point is 00:58:45 It was lovely. It's true. I'm going to make sure all you guys are ready back there. Hi, everybody. Thanks so much for coming here today. I really appreciate it. Very casual intro. do by the way. Okay, perfect. And we have all our stories set up for you guys. So thanks for doing our
Starting point is 00:59:02 stuff too. Thanks for having me here. Okay, go. All right, everyone, we are here with a very special guest. As you know, this is our 500th episode. So we had to bring in a big guest for this one. We have the lovely Drew Barrymore. I'm so glad I could be here for such a powerful number. Right. 500 is so, many episodes. That's amazing. We're very thankful to get to 500 and hopefully we hit you know a thousand, but having you for 500 is very special. It's very cool. We're in your walls at CBS in the studios. It's very cool to see. I am very, very grateful. And it's, you know, can I ask you guys a question, which is like, did you think it would last? Did you want it to last? And, how did you feel if you ever were thinking like this isn't going to last?
Starting point is 01:00:02 I know. I would say right off the bat, we were very nervous. But after the first few episodes, we thought this is going to work. But going into it, I think we were like, oh, God, nobody's going to listen. The numbers are going to be terrible. We started off as a radio show on Sirius XM. And we just had no idea what we were doing. And then they were like, you guys should turn this into a podcast and we're like, why would anybody listen to us? That was back in 2017 where podcasts were really picking up and we thought, you know, everyone has a podcast, but now everybody has a podcast. It's so true. And friends, right, we were just like, is anybody even going to listen to this? And they did. And I don't think we would ever stop it now. Like,
Starting point is 01:00:45 I plan to just keep talking until however long I can try you out there. And they pulled the plug. Yeah, exactly. I know. I love hearing that because it's, you know, I, I don't. definitely felt that way about this show that we're doing here. I was, you know, we launched in a pandemic. It just didn't, it didn't seem like it was going to work. It was really tough to start. It was, you know, such a difficult time. And, you know, I didn't really know exactly what I was doing. I knew the like show I wanted to make, but the world also reset that. I think it actually made it better. and challenged us in ways that, like, made us more scrappy and kind of cut out the cheese a little bit. I don't know if I should have gone so hard into comedy right out of the gate.
Starting point is 01:01:40 But I felt crazy. It was a crazy time. And I just, you know, I unfortunately think that was reflected coming out of my pores. It was like we were making it like Wayne's World. There was nobody in the room. I was talking to myself. And but it's just, it's a miracle and like never to be taken for granted when you get to stay somewhere. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:02 Because I'm also way too attached to this thing. Are you guys attached? Very attached. Very attached. Yes. And I kind of really wish that passion on people because I was challenged a lot. Like, don't get too attached to this. It probably won't last.
Starting point is 01:02:15 And, you know, I was like, but I just am. I can't fake that I'm not attached to this that a lot of my happiness. and identity is all the sudden, like, wrapped up in this new world that I've never been in and never saw myself in, but I care about it so much. And so I'm just so happy to, like, keep going. And I do think things need runway. I think they need time to figure themselves out, evolve, get more comfortable, kind of, you know, it takes a minute for the training wheels to come off.
Starting point is 01:02:47 Yeah, when things end abruptly, you always think, oh, they really never got the chance to fully reach their potential. I wish people time. It's not a bad thing to get attached because that means you're putting your all into it. And then if things do end, then you'll deal with it when it comes. But while you have it, you might as well just go all in. And now you're interviewing a ton of people. But how do you feel about being interviewed?
Starting point is 01:03:12 I mean, I'm used to it. I've done it my whole life. But I tried to think like, I don't, you know, I want to have a conversation. So like I'll go in with some goals and I'll do a lot of research and homework. And then I'm like, get into the cockpit. Let's fly. I know I need to land you at this very specific airport. But like what if we just take a weird route to get there?
Starting point is 01:03:39 That's kind of our angle. We love just like we don't have any sheets. We don't have for me, Fran writes more stuff down, I think. Yeah, we brainstorm. We brainstorm. But I like to go off my head of like what. comes up. You know what I mean? Yeah, you never know what is also going to come into your brain at that moment. I like being researched because I'm too afraid to show up at the test unstudied or
Starting point is 01:04:05 like be naked in front of everybody. Like that's not comfortable for me. But I sort of like throw it all out and just get groovy with it. And I've noticed like if I followed the plan, because there's always a plan. Like people who don't plan, that's just too wild for me. I can't handle it. But if you know the plan so well, then you can like burn the plan up at the last second. You still have the plan somewhere inside of you. So I don't like being rigid because I've noticed sometimes when I'm doing an interview with people, they have questions one through 10.
Starting point is 01:04:43 And before I've even finished question number one, they're focused on question number two. There's like an orderly fashion to it, which is very type A and maybe not about. thing, but I am like, I'm not even a type B, I'm a type C. I'm a clumsy, like wobbly calf, and I just, I think it takes a little longer, which is a little more laborious to the process. But I'll end up having a moment with people or someone that I did not expect to happen. And then I get really excited about that. I'm like, oh, this undiscovered land. That's so cool. Podcasting, I do think, gives you that ability, too, to have a more.
Starting point is 01:05:22 long form discussion and conversation which is really nice and you mentioned you know having those questions set out I don't know if you watched Selena Gomez's documentary that came out. I haven't yet I'm dying too. It's really great but she definitely from the interviewee perspective
Starting point is 01:05:41 got very frustrated at people doing those press tours where it was like one question she answers and there was no follow up to what she wanted to continue to talk about. It was just, oh, that's it. Thanks for showing up. She was talking about her philanthropy. She wanted to expand on that. And it was like, oh, thank you. That's all. She was like, wow, were you even really listening? Right. With podcasts, you can really listen to somebody and respond. Yeah. And she did Jay Shetty's podcast, which, you know, I loved
Starting point is 01:06:09 some of the things she was saying in there so much. She's become so self-aware and in the right way, not self-aware in the egotistical. I know who I am in the world because that is be a bullshit. Can you swear here? Thank God. Okay. She's become so self-aware in, and I've worked on myself. I am working on myself way. So I loved hearing her piece.
Starting point is 01:06:33 I'm dying to see the documentary. Yeah. I really am. And it just looks, you know, Alec Cashishian, who did Truth or Dare. Like, it just, it's over a long period. You're not going to get that if you rush it. I couldn't have loved like Billy Eilish's documentary more, which was such a, insane, interesting time that the filmmaker went in and, like, captured it before or as it was all
Starting point is 01:07:00 happening. So if you can get a window into people like that, if they'll let you in, that's an amazing way to control a narrative and take it out of other people's hands if you want to elaborate on something. Or, you know, you can write a book, you can make a documentary. Everybody has a story and everyone can tell that story if you commit to a medium and see it through. Yeah, I just watched Billy Eilish. You mentioned she does that Vanity Fair interview every single year. And the newest version of it just came out. She does a sit down and she watches herself 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.
Starting point is 01:07:40 Every year she does it on the same day. And it's the same, like, format. She goes back and they watch her previous answers. It's phenomenal. Oh, I'm going to. And she goes back and she like listens. to her answers from when she was 17. She's like, oh my God, what was I thinking?
Starting point is 01:07:54 Everybody feels that way about themselves. Yes. It's so hard to watch yourself back, but even one year prior, she's like, this is so crazy. My life has changed so much. It's a great set up. Okay, I'm going to check that out immediately. I know. I wish we all had that benefit of our approach at the same thing in different ages because it's
Starting point is 01:08:17 going to evolve and change. I was so much more fun. No, I should say I had so much more fun when I was younger. I actually don't think I was more fun. I was probably a real pain in the ass. Like I was messy and like stupid and immortal and just a complete idiot. But God, I had so much fun. So much fun and I'm just a big old bore now.
Starting point is 01:08:45 I'm like, should we just watch White Lotus and like hang out and eat? food on the couch. That also sounds fun. Would you change any of that though or do you think it made you who you are now? No, I wouldn't change it because I'm so happy with how content I am now. And I don't think if I had not had as many romantic escapades or parties or concerts or like crazy wild drinking nights or worked as hard as I did. That hasn't changed. The infallible, insane, what am I doing to myself burning the candle at both ends work ethic? Somehow that's still intact. I don't know why.
Starting point is 01:09:24 I think because I started work at 11 months old. I cannot get off the hamster wheel. I light it on fire all by myself and then run, not letting that fire catch up to my butt. But my lifestyle is so different. Like it's crazy how different is. What's a day to day for you now? Very regimented because of the show and the kids. Like I had never dreamt that my life would become so consistent.
Starting point is 01:09:51 I was always off to somewhere at a moment's notice. All of a sudden you get a gig and you're off to Germany for six months, you know, or you'll be in Seattle, Washington, or you'll be in Shreveport, Louisiana, or Anchorage, Alaska, or the south of France in the middle of, you know, the woods. Like, that was my life. And always studying different people and living in different places. It was just a very transient life that led to a lot of adaptability and a lot of adventure. And right now, everything is like, I know what I do in the morning.
Starting point is 01:10:23 I know what my kids do in the morning. I know where I go to work. I know where they go to school. We come home. It's like homework, dinner, bath, and bed. The weekends are a total free-for-all. We're pigs. We, like, go to theater or we'll do nothing.
Starting point is 01:10:39 Sometimes I'm like, you know what? you have worked so hard this week in like this scholastic race that you're in like do nothing just be um so that i think my weekends are my rebellion like you know but there's a lot of home goods also like let's go buy some baskets at home goods like that again it always feels like a party with them Like it's 10 a.m. on a Saturday and I'm like blasting music and, you know, I'm not at Coachella getting wasted and having the best time ever, but it's like I still have that same spirit where I'm like, we're going to home goods. It's early in the morning. You still have music playing. And we're going to hit that shit. It's going to be wild. I know. We're going to fill our cart and it's going to
Starting point is 01:11:27 feel good. And we're going to walk out embarrassed because our car's overful and we look like jerks, you know, who bought too many pillows. But you still have the other stories. So it's like now you have a nice balance. You said that you guys are pigs on the weekend. What's like your guilty pleasure? Like a lot of takeout food and movies. Do you eat fast food?
Starting point is 01:11:47 Sometimes. No, I love fast food. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, like the girls really wanted McDonald's the other night. I was like they hadn't had it in a while because I was ordering it too often. And all those parents who have it all together and they've got hygiene and nutrition and schedules and boundaries.
Starting point is 01:12:05 God bless you. I didn't know any of that stuff when I had my kids. I did not have the blueprint. And I felt like a failure a lot. I felt really overwhelmed and like I don't know what I'm doing. And I don't know what I'm doing. And I'm going to have to learn on the job. And a lot of people come at parenting,
Starting point is 01:12:26 especially in this day and age. When we grew up, you'd be left in the driveway for three hours eating rocks. like, and nobody cared. And you were fine. And it led to resiliency. And now we're like helicopter parenting and coddling and, you know, watching everything. And I think there's, it's really hard in this day and age to not get that conversation of like, well, I mean, you know what to do. And I'm like, no, I don't know what to do.
Starting point is 01:12:53 Where are the parents out there who are admitting that this is humorous, embarrassing, humbling, like wild? And so I just sometimes you just have to order McDonald's. Yeah. And not be the mom that goes, no, no, we have food at home. You want to be the mom that's like, all right, let's get McDonald's. I watched like, yeah, Eddie Murphy's, you know, raw growing up. I loved when he would talk about McDonald's. Like, the home burger was not the same.
Starting point is 01:13:22 Absolutely. I got chicken nuggets in the fridge. You're like, no. Yeah. I've got the vegan nuggets. You want those, right? No, okay. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:13:29 And maybe that's it. Maybe it's balanced. Maybe they get to eat McDonald's here and then they have something else another night of the week. But it's funny, I was so unforgiving of myself when my kids were younger. And now that they're almost nine and Olive's like 10, it's shifted into something very different. And I'm having the best time ever. I have learned boundaries, which has affected not my work life because I have no boundaries in my work life. Like, oh, you need me to work that weekend.
Starting point is 01:14:00 Oh, I'm just going to talk about my person. in a life like I don't know everything's on the table at work no boundaries whatsoever I see you talking about your personal life a lot I and I love it because I think as a viewer we're like you're such a household name and I was going to ask you mentioned Selena Gomez you know being self-aware you can't have your talk show and not talk about your life it's impossible like we want to know because that makes everyone feel relate to you because you will put yourselves out there and talk about your life experiences that's what you do but that's you know I think that's that's a fun agreement to step into and just start with that. You know, just what have you got to lose
Starting point is 01:14:40 by figuring life out in front of and with everybody? And now with social media, everybody gets to do that. You know, we can. Like, I think that you should know what to do is something that makes me feel just terrible about myself. The, I want to figure it out. I'm in. It's empowering. I want to admit that I'm flawed or I don't know things or I am a work in progress. I had to like parent myself, but that parenting style wasn't going to work for my kids. That was much more survival and, you know, not what I would want for my kids. But I do want to figure out how to be more patient, more kind, more rational. Like my reaction is something that's really important to me. And whenever I fuck that up, I can't even tell you how mad I am at myself.
Starting point is 01:15:32 If I don't react with patience and grace, I don't like it. But it happens. I'm a human being. I fail here and there. But I'm like, can I learn from that? Can I pick it up? Like the way you treat people in life to me is sort of everything. And I'm also simultaneously learning at nearly 48 years old.
Starting point is 01:15:53 I also didn't want to listen when anyone would say, like, you have to take care of yourself. You have to love yourself. I don't know why, but I rebelled against that. I was like, fuck off. I just felt like angry when people would patronize me about how I was supposed to take care of myself. And now I'm like, okay, I kind of get it. It's harder to love others. It's harder to take care of others.
Starting point is 01:16:18 I still haven't figured it out. I still prioritize other people over myself probably. But I'm glad I'm in the mix now. Yeah. I did see a TikTok where the question was asking. you if you believe once a cheater is always a cheater and you were saying that you like to believe that everybody has that change in them but it's more about that person wanting to change because if you're trying to change somebody it's never going to happen.
Starting point is 01:16:41 What do you think? I agree with that. I think that many times we've seen people or just like in our own lives or people you watch, you know, we talk about celebrities all the time. It's like if you keep yelling at somebody that they have to do something automatically you don't want to do it. It's kind of like when your parents told you to clean your room and you're like, well, now I don't want to. Well, that's the rebellion. I'm a rebel. If I'm told to do something, I immediately don't want to do it. Right. And I'm just sitting, and then I'll just be sitting in my room. Oh, I'll clean my room because I wanted to. So I kind of do with guilt. Right. Human's are progressive. We don't stay stuck, but I do think rebellion is a very real thing. And I have so much
Starting point is 01:17:23 rebellion in me. Like, it's crazy. Like, what do you want to do right now in this room. Just rip his heart. I guess I just want to break all those those stereotypes of like
Starting point is 01:17:40 again you've got your shit together. Just admit that life is very funny and humorous. And you believe that people can change. I do believe people can change. I've changed. Like I don't drink alcohol anymore. I'm not sober. I don't work a program.
Starting point is 01:17:54 What else I do is my own business. I was like, this is a toxic behavior for me. And my whole life, it held me back because I knew that I couldn't like surrender to something nor give it up. It was like that definition of insanity. You do the same shit over and over again expecting a different result. I was a complete prisoner of my own behavior. And finally, three and a half years ago, I was like, I can't do this anymore.
Starting point is 01:18:22 It doesn't work for me. I'm never going to be that cool girl with the glass of one. at the party, like, I'll want three bottles. Like, that's just my personality. It's my addiction. And when I finally let go of that, it made me realize that I was capable of great change that I totally rebelled about. I was like, I will master this toxic behavior of mine. As if I could, I just did not think I could ever stop. That was a hamster wheel. I'd be on my whole life. Was that something that you had that aha moment yourself? Did you feel? I always, You know, and your life push you towards that?
Starting point is 01:18:59 All of the above. All my friends were mirrors. They were like, this is not working. They said it for decades. I said I knew it for decades. And I just thought, I don't know why. I know I'm going to master this one day. And finally, I just gave it up.
Starting point is 01:19:15 So that has led me to believe people can change. Because I wouldn't change for decades. Like four decades. I went, you know, drinking or less. I don't know, three and a half. I'm terrible with math. So many years that like the narrative was for me is this has a hold over you. You will never break this cycle.
Starting point is 01:19:37 You are a prisoner of your own weakness. And every time that you fuck up in life, it has to do with this. You don't like yourself. And you're probably going to be stuck in that for the rest of your life because you won't give it up. Because you keep telling yourself one day you'll master this. And the last three and a half years have been so awesome and so great. and I don't have any hangups with it. Again, I don't work a program.
Starting point is 01:20:01 I pour people drink. I have alcohol in my house. It's just to finally became a confident decision. So I think once a cheater, not always a cheater, I think can you ask yourself, though, I think if you're with somebody that cheats, if they can change is second, can you ever get over it? Right. Even if that person changed, will the past just haunt you and torture you and be, in the room with you for life, then don't be in that relationship. Because you'll just keep punishing
Starting point is 01:20:30 that person and yourself regardless of their change. So if you really can't ever get over it, it doesn't matter if that person's going to change or not, because you will bring it into the future. So, but I do believe people can one day say, I've been stuck in a shitty cycle that I'm totally aware of. And for whatever reason, I convinced myself it would fix itself one day. And you have to do that hard, crazy work of just switching it. And sometimes maybe you're just so sick of yourself that you finally like let go. Or it's a really challenging thing and you struggle and sweat and scream through the whole thing. Whatever it is, I know people are capable of change.
Starting point is 01:21:14 Right. And I've definitely seen people who don't seem to want to make that change as much as they talk about it. And it's always action over words. In fact, the less you talk about it. and just do it the better. My best friend Nan always had this saying that I love so much. Insecurity is loud. Confidence is quiet.
Starting point is 01:21:36 So just do it and shut up about it. We've had somebody. It's a good way to, we were told that. Just recently say that on our podcast. Really? That's very funny. He's from Southern Charm. It's a reality show.
Starting point is 01:21:49 We have Bravo TV shows. Yeah, I know it. Same thing, yeah. But no, you're talking about evolution and change. and Rio's talking about TikTok, you're on TikTok. I feel like we see great videos. You love TikTok. One of our...
Starting point is 01:22:02 I'm so into it because it's like goofy central. Yes. Depends on what side you're on though. It is. It really does. You can find yourself on a bad side of TikTok. You can. I so.
Starting point is 01:22:10 If it's on your For You page, you can go down a hole where like you just get bad. Like my TikTok changes all the time. My algorithm where I'll get fed like really just haunting TikToks where I'm like, you know what? This is messing with my head. And then then. next day it's all food recipes. I'm like having a great time. I want cleaning.
Starting point is 01:22:28 And then the next thing is like puppies. It just changes all the time. I don't want abandoned dogs. No, I don't want that. I get like human trafficking. Yeah, that's all my God. Or I get like just really dark. Like I don't even want to go down the path. But I a lot of what I do get is creators and they do like a day in the life and they're
Starting point is 01:22:45 in New York City and they live these awesome lives. But I wanted to ask you if you had TikTok throughout your life, what would a day in the life 15 at 25 and at 35. Okay, that's fun. I'd be curious to ask you the same question back. 15. Oh. Like really asking myself, did I want to keep trying to be in films?
Starting point is 01:23:16 Because I was totally blacklisted. I'd gotten out of an institution, did not, was not welcomed. Like, not because anybody was mean or cruel, but it was just a. It was a fun ride. You're done. And I had to ask myself, like, did I really want to fight and prove to myself that I wanted to be here? And the answer was a really genuine yes. Like, it was my love.
Starting point is 01:23:43 It was my passion. It's what my family has done since the silent films and theater and into the talkies. Like, I feel a genetic cosmic pull. And I love storytelling. And I love it. And that was a really cool revelation for me, that I love what I do and I'm not doing it for anyone else or for the wrong reasons. That was 15. 25.
Starting point is 01:24:09 25. Oh, my God. Partying my ass off, living it up. Now a producer making films, hanging out and doing like the wedding singer and ever after and Charlie's Angels. and just really wanting to like make the most of the opportunity and not screw it up, but just have the best time ever. Go to concerts, kiss boys, make out. The best.
Starting point is 01:24:44 Dogs running around. Friends, up all night, work all day. The best. Oh, 25 was fun. Such good times. And then what's the next day? 35. Very quiet.
Starting point is 01:24:57 and meditative, thinking that I would change all of my behavior in order to become a parent. And I met this man and like life got really quiet and serious. Not lacking in fun or beauty, but just like, okay, I think I'm ready to do my best to not screw this up. And then you make plans and it all blows up in your face. And then I just repeatedly kept it. Yeah, 35 was very meditative and like, okay. It's funny when you put it in those years because if somebody says, like, do you have a five-year plan?
Starting point is 01:25:40 I would never have an answer. I don't know. You know. We never know. People ask us all the time. We say, wherever the wind takes us. I fall in love with what I'm doing or what's in front of me or what is possible. And I'm very focused on that.
Starting point is 01:25:53 I can diversify and focus on many things at the same time. but I don't have bored vision or I'm not. I also love that if you live it more like that when you look back at five years ago, you'd be like, wow, myself five years ago would have never predicted where I am right now. And that's cool. Like you don't, you wouldn't say, oh, God, I'm so off track of where I thought I was going to be. Five years ago, I was so broken. I was so sad about getting divorced and like raising my, I just, I was, I was broken and I was
Starting point is 01:26:23 unforgiving of myself. And I never dreamt I could be. at such a much more healthy, forgiving, thriving place. Like, our blended family's amazing. The girls are happy. I'm in a job I'm in love with. My friends are good. Like, everything's okay.
Starting point is 01:26:40 And five years ago, I was convinced everything was broken for life. Yeah. You mentioned, like, I saw your face, you know, like, boys and making out. And I feel like I see you talking about dating all the time. I love talking about dating. I love that you love talking about it. Where would you be at 15, 25, 35, 35? 15, well, she's 25.
Starting point is 01:26:58 I was going to say, you're not even 35 yet. She's 25, I'm 28, so I can talk more about the full 25. 15, I was a absolute, just worried about college and expectations and making, doing, getting good grades and making friends. I had started a new school, new high school. Katie, we went to high school together, same school. But it's just, there were so much, like, expectations I felt forced on me at that time. Oldest kid, oldest grandchild on both sides. Like, it was, like, all this pressure I felt to kind of excel in academically because I was not an athlete or, like, was not in the arts academically.
Starting point is 01:27:49 And that's kind of where I was at 15. 25 is was an entirely different person like I just those years of kind of lose like school just wasn't my then didn't end up being my thing it crashed and burned only for me to like come out of it in a really beautiful way and finding this job and this podcast and doing this together so at 25 like I was like this is this is living I don't have to graduate college I don't have to worry about those friendships, I can keep the people I know that are going to be there for me close to me. And, you know, I was kind of in the early stages of not, I guess, midway through a relationship that I'm still in. So I was very happy. Twenty-five was good. I hope 35 is good,
Starting point is 01:28:38 too. I'm sure it will be. Yeah. Yeah. And what about you, 15 and 25? I feel like everyone knows. 15 you're grinding. Everyone knows what I'm going to say about 15, which is going to get the people who listen to his podcast mad because we're sitting across from Drew very more, but I will explain. I'm sure Drew would have great. I was a grinding child actress and model, so I was auditioning all the time, all that, not really going to school that much. My parents would pull me out to go to the city all the time. Just really trying to like get into anything because I had been doing it from like eight years old up until. How did you deal with rejection? I resorted ironically my mom used to buy me a McDonald's
Starting point is 01:29:20 Filet of Fish. It's Pavlovian to me. If I need to self-soothe or comfort, I could suck my thumb and eat a fillet fish. Yeah. Well, I was rejected all the time. So I just got used to it. That's what's so weird and cool about this job is it does teach you
Starting point is 01:29:37 how to handle rejection and that there's enough for everybody to go around and it doesn't fool you. Yeah, it did teach me a lot because I think because I was so used to like hearing no all the time that later when we got this job it kind of helped me with criticism here but i remember my manager at the time would always you know alexander didario she was yeah of course great white locus season one we had the same manager and she was like i have this client Alex didario and like
Starting point is 01:30:05 she went on hundreds of auditions and finally she got percy jackson and like it really took out off her so like don't worry yeah so i i did that up until i guess i was about 15 because then i started focusing more like I loved boys and high school and going to parties and not really studying or like the school aspect of school but I loved the social part of school. So I kind of dropped all that once I reached like probably around 16 I would say I kind of just put that aside. And I was like I've been trying for so long like it's just not it's just not happening like if it's meant to be later in life. I'll do something having to do with entertainment but probably not like an actress like I really want to be. But now, now I'm 25 and I love my life. It's great. I feel like I've, you know, I would say 21 to 23. I was very confused. Like I had started this job when I was 19. So it was really cool. But I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. And then I think between 21 and 23, I was kind of experiencing that, just like personal life, dealing with a lot of anxiety that I've never dealt with in my life before, depressed. and all that. And then once I got to 24 and 25, I've seen like the other side. I actually made a joke to
Starting point is 01:31:23 her on the other day where I was like, I was like, guys, just like I turned 25. I feel like a different person. You know when they say like your brain fully develops at 25? I think it happened. And they were like, you sure it's just not like the lifestyle changes that you made? Because I used to smoke weed like all day, every day. And I totally stopped doing that. And so I feel really, really happy and proud of myself at 25. We've been doing this for like quite some time now. 500 episodes. Yeah. Happy 500.
Starting point is 01:31:54 500 episodes. So it's crazy. But yeah, it's, we're definitely happy in that situation now. But it's nice to see, to look back and think about it. And now for you. But the dating, I wanted to. Oh, yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:32:09 Because you said you love talking about dating. It's so fun. And there's so many single people out there were, I think it's even. relationship oriented because for me it all kind of tracks back to behavior so it's fun it's easy it's universal um it's delicious but at the core i have no sort of like ditsy approach and like i'm literally like oh no no i choose to be single i've worked really hard on myself things are really good and here is what I find now unacceptable or acceptable but I love hearing about it from other people. I just love the whole journey. So are you dating right now or no? Because I feel like
Starting point is 01:32:56 I never get a straight answer from watching. I know because I don't really I go on dates and they don't really go anywhere. I dated someone for like a hot, well it was like over the course of time. but I realized that it wasn't a right fit for me because the behavior wasn't there. Behavior meaning. You know, it's very confusing because a lot of people say like, just have fun. Right. And you're like, what is fun? And a lot of men out there, I feel like act like you are always asking for too much,
Starting point is 01:33:36 which is crazy in my situation because I don't want to have kids get married, live together. and I'm busy all the time. So I'm not a very needy person. But it's like if you send a video, it's like you've, you know, shown up at their mother's house and told them that you love them. I don't know why, but I feel like I've dated people who you make a gesture to and you feel like, did I go too far? Did I ask for too much? Did I? And you never want to second guess that.
Starting point is 01:34:06 And you're like, I don't want anything. How could that do too much? Give me a nice kiss. Why is this going into mental gymnastics? Why can't you just respond or I've been ghosted? Do you have people DM you a lot? I never check my DMs. So I don't know.
Starting point is 01:34:27 But someone is checking them. If someone good came through, I'm sure they'd let you know. They would let you know. So I guess the answer is no. Nobody interesting. DMs me, but I don't know what I would consider interesting. Again, someone with a job would be a great start. Would you date somebody that's in the same industry as you or you want someone out of it? I wouldn't want to judge them for it because I wouldn't want to be judged myself. Like,
Starting point is 01:34:54 in some ways, ideally not because I don't want to like, you know, have less of a private life. Right. Like as much as I'm out there, my life is really quiet socially. So I'm sort of left alone. The idea of someone coming in and like making it feel more interesting to other people. Like if you started dating Pete Davidson. Yeah, he doesn't want anything to do with me. He likes young and hot. So that's that's not it at all. Well, we're to very different ages.
Starting point is 01:35:25 We're at very different places in our life. He's dating back in sale. Right. Kim Kardashian. That's true. Yeah. He's dating a lot of moms lately. Yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 01:35:33 They all have children. No hell. You are beautiful and have kids. I think you fit the criteria. Don't count yourself about. No, on second thought. That does seem nerve-wracking to me because I am such a slow burn now that I think I would need a lot of time to figure out if this was actually functional and working before I'd want to introduce you to the kids or like before I would want to publicly decree. And if you date someone in the public eye, you don't have that luxury.
Starting point is 01:36:06 Because your boyfriend as soon as you're spotted out together. I feel like I'm like, we have barely known each other and now everybody assumes we've slept together. Like that freaks me out now as a mom. I'm like, I don't want that narrative out there because I'm really like I said, a slow burn and take my time. I mean, I go on a couple dates a year. Like I'm such a slow burn. So that does scare me. Whereas I didn't think about that at all when I was young. Who cares? Like I didn't think at all about it. However, I could never disqualify somebody because of their like occupation because if anybody did that to me, I would be so bummed to be judged on my lifestyle. And it's happened to me. I've had plenty of people say, I just can't handle your life.
Starting point is 01:36:53 And it's soul crushing. It is so hard to hear that. Because it's your dream. You're living your passion and your dream. And you know what you're stepping into, but you've got a taste and it's not for you. And fuck me. Now I feel horrible about my existence because it's just too much for you. So I think I would be really sensitive at trying to make someone else feel that way. However, yeah, it does make me nervous. Like, I don't want to put gasoline on a fire. But who knows?
Starting point is 01:37:25 I don't know what's happening in life and in the world. I've been going on some dates with someone. That's been fun. What does a date look like to you? I was going to say, is it New York City? Are we New York City dating? He doesn't live in New York. Okay.
Starting point is 01:37:42 Which is fine. Yes. Well, you're so busy. I think long distance is awesome. Yeah. Exactly. So that doesn't bother me. And I think it's like, who are you?
Starting point is 01:37:53 What are your criteria? What are you looking for? So the whole dating conversation is so much more. I spent my whole life thinking about what it is they want. And now I'm so interested in like us being in touch with what we want. which isn't self, I don't mean it selfishly at all. I'm like the least selfish person. I'm a people pleasing dormant.
Starting point is 01:38:18 Like I have no selfish bone in my body. But I didn't ask myself these questions. Like how does this person make you feel? And fuck those butterflies. They are so toxic and awful. And the like drama and the like spun out. I don't want any of that. None of that is worth it to me.
Starting point is 01:38:40 But when I was younger, that was like my jam. Yeah. You know? Oh, you're not calling me or, oh, God, we stay up all night fighting. Like, that's so hot. Yeah, you know, all of this shit I wouldn't want to do. And then you realize you're like, no, it's just not it. But it's fun.
Starting point is 01:38:55 And I think you just want and need different things at different points in your life. And everyone is so different. So try and figure out in a tailoring kind of way, not in a selfish way. What is it that you want and need? Because if there are things that you don't want and need, be able to identify that that person is providing that behavior and don't do it. I saw something that was like, stop asking yourself if he likes you. Do you even like him? Because I feel like people get caught up all the time.
Starting point is 01:39:26 Like, does he even like me? It's like, well, do you even like him? Have you thought anything about him? A hundred percent. I think social media has great relationships, soulful, advice. that keeps the arrow constantly pointing back at you. Like you are the only thing you can control. You are, you know, even if someone breaks your fucking heart open, guess what?
Starting point is 01:39:50 You're left with the aftermath. You allowed it to happen. You welcomed it in. It's already been done. Now what? Everything, again, about behavior and reactions. But I don't think that anyone should be afraid of risking their heart. heart being broken? Like live. That's a part of life. It's awesome. And whatever road of recovery
Starting point is 01:40:14 you find will pay off in dividends later. It's all hunting and gathering and butterfly net and life. And I mean, definitely live. Don't let fear stop you. And then if you're really wanting to go out there and live and try all these different things, figure out how to handle it if it goes a certain way. Yeah. Yeah. I see a lot of discussion behind the camera. I think we've been talking for a long time. I don't even have to check my phone to know that we have. And it's crazy because I feel like we still haven't touched on so much. But I just want to wrap up by asking you, I know you've talked about kind of being unofficially retired and not acting as much. Like will I go back to it? Because I ask myself that all the time. I have a syn, like a hypothetical, a scenario. Because
Starting point is 01:41:03 you've talked about pitching, you know, the wedding singer. I was going to say, I want to do a another movie with Sandler. If Adam Sandler said to you, like it was the perfect movie if it both of you and your lives right now for you to do it. It's an answer with the yes. Okay. I think everyone loves that answer. I think it's. Blended is the movie that it's so funny because it's not the one talked about the most, but when it's on TV, I put it on every time. And every parent with a 12 year old also nose blended. It was, I don't think it was our goal or anything we thought about, but it's like all the kids of the people who went to the wedding singer and 50 first dates are now watching it. So it's a thoroughfare to keep it all in the family. And I
Starting point is 01:41:47 never knew that that would happen with Blended. I didn't think about it that way when we made it. And now it is literally the kids of the people that we grew up with. So I'm glad we did that pivot. It wasn't intentional for me, but like generationally and age. why speaking it worked up really well. You heard her Adam. Now, make the movie. I really, we've done it every 10 years and it's about to be 10 years. So we just did a segment for the show in our car called the Drewber and I picked him up and we do talk about like what the next one could be and it hasn't come out yet.
Starting point is 01:42:30 but I think I think that would make me so happy again it would make the world really really it would make the world so happy well this goes right back to relationships and right back to your relationship with yourself
Starting point is 01:42:46 and your job and your friends and everyone like are you happy and I know that seems like a silly question because happiness seems like this lofty thing it's not it's hard to be happy it's a choice it's a struggle to get there most days It's not on tap every morning. And if you veer your life towards there, it's so good. And I'm convinced we're here to take care of each other.
Starting point is 01:43:11 It's so okay if we are different. That's, I think, the best part of like, because you know what? I can tell you what 45 taught me. We're all different. That's not going to change. And no matter how optimistic of a human being you are, people have radical different. And that's okay. Work from the common ground. It is there and embrace each other and don't push each other away or be cruel. Figure out a way to coexist and actually I bet you like the same
Starting point is 01:43:48 fart joke. And I bet you care about your kids and you both eat cereal and everybody uses toilet paper and you might have a movie in common or a song or a life experience or the lack of a parent or something, work from a different place. That was my big 45 aha. Doing this show, the pivot of the world. There are radical differences between people. That's not going to change. How do we find our way into each other?
Starting point is 01:44:17 Yeah. Well, I think that's a beautiful place for us to wrap up. Thank you for having me. Thank you so much. We are, Ria and I are such huge fans and have loved everything. I wish you guys had a whole other hour. I know. I love your whole origin.
Starting point is 01:44:31 story. I know. I deserve to be here and you carve this space out for yourself and it's working and people are loving it and I'm so glad you brought the, you know, female game like, you know, to a giant franchise. I feel like I have a 13 year old boy who permanently lives inside of me and I love men and I love women so much. I just want girls to be able to do what boys do and if boys want to do what girls do, like let's just give opportunity everywhere and like and sometimes you have to make it happen for yourself without fucking anyone over yeah just make it happen so congratulations on making it happen in 500 episodes thank you so much make sure everyone watch the drew barry more show tune in weekly drew's news as well her podcast which we are going to be on then we have a crossover happening so
Starting point is 01:45:25 for those listening tune in to that I have some fun stories for us too I'm very excited we get to do more on the podcast than we do on daytime TV. We get to be a little nodded. We're going to have a lot of fun. Thank you. Thank you so much. That was awesome. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:45:43 Thank you for having me, by the way. I'm serious. I know, I just, so many questions. I literally was just on a, I was just on a jet blue flight. I was coming back from Vegas and I was just like, I am exhausted. Like, I was going scrolling through the movies. I was like, I need to put something on. I put on Charlie's Angels.
Starting point is 01:46:03 It was exactly what I needed. I hate dark shit so much. I'm like, guess what? There is enough of that in life to go around. I cannot be a part of that in storytelling. This is not a place to do it to people. Do you have a favorite movie that you've done? We didn't ask on the podcast.
Starting point is 01:46:20 I mean, I think experience-wise, like, you know, like the Charlie's movies. We just had the best time. E.T. 51st dates was a dream. so I think about it as far as like experience I'm really glad my partner found this film called Donnie Darko that was like a different film for us to make
Starting point is 01:46:42 Jake Gyllenhaal. Yeah I loved that movie. I had a boy show me that movie for the first time like I was like in high school. I thought that's a universal experience where people talk about it like a like a classic like 20 movie. It's a 20 year old boy being like you gotta watch this movie. Yeah no it's so great I think it's the cooler movie that we made.
Starting point is 01:47:01 Family's basement. Yeah, we made more like a lot of like goofier comedies. That one I'm like, how did we end up making that movie? For 51st days, did you like get frustrated with having to play the same thing every day? No, I loved it. I really did because it was such a metaphor of love for me, which is we've made all these films with like a happy ending and really love is a daily thing that you keep waking up if you're lucky. That is beautiful. having to reinvent or re-love or rebuild or keep afloat um so i kind of loved the reality of
Starting point is 01:47:42 like there are no like kiss happy endings it's like it's a wake-up everyday practice so i love that part of us let's move moon walk out of here because i'm so
