Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners. You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad free on Amazon Music. What's up, everyone? It's Chicks in the Office with Ria and Fran, giving you that Friday energy on a Friday. And it's been a weird week. It has been a weird week. I'll say that.
Starting point is 00:00:35 Hand up. I'll say it. Yeah, it definitely has. You've been sick. yeah i've been i've been sick yeah i don't know i don't know what's wrong with me i took some covid tests negative vitado um feels like maybe just a really bad cold or like maybe the flu or something i i don't know i i i felt terrible i really did i felt really terrible you know when you're so i started to cry on tuesday you know when you're so sick to see you alive yeah it just overcomes
Starting point is 00:01:07 your entire body that's what was happening to me also i haven't been that sick and a lot So I kind of forgot what it felt like. Yeah, I think it was paired up with the fact that we had like a very busy week too. And it was like, oh, great, I'm sick at the beginning of a busy week. And now like. Yeah. And then when you have all these things to do and then you feel so shitty and you feel like you're about to lose your mind because you just feel so sick. And that's how I felt.
Starting point is 00:01:34 And I still, I feel a lot better than I did towards the beginning of the week. I have this nasty cough now. But besides that, I'm feeling a lot better. I coughed so hard. I threw up in the middle of the night last night. So that was fun. But, you know, chugging along. I know.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Yeah, you were like, I think I'm starting to feel better. Like, I'm thinking about coming in. I, and I didn't want to be mean, but I was like, please, please don't. Like, I'm not trying to, I'm not trying to get whatever. Because you've gone the last three days being like, I haven't been this sick and so long. Like, I feel so awful. I'm like, I don't want that. Please don't get me that.
Starting point is 00:02:08 I know. And that's how I felt. but you know like when you're sick and it goes in waves? Like all of a sudden you've been like sitting around for way too long. And then you like get up and finally take a shower and you're like, oh, I'm feeling a bit better. And then as soon as I got out of the shower, I texted you guys out when I was in the shower. Yeah. And then I got out of the shower and I was like, I'm just kidding.
Starting point is 00:02:27 Maybe I don't really feel that much better. I didn't think so. It is what it is. I'll be good as new by next week. I think I'm feeling better each day. How are you doing for, Jessica? I'm pretty good. No complaints. I've had a, what did I do this week? Honestly, not too much. The Big East tournament's happening right now, so I like to go to those games.
Starting point is 00:02:53 It's a fun time. And I had something I wanted to talk about. And, oh, I remember. I think I officially am like 28. Like I'm 27 turning 28 this year but like might be turning 60. I have maybe gone the last two or three weeks, probably more closer to two, where I am waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom every single night. Like all of a sudden I have.
Starting point is 00:03:31 the bladder of an 80 year old. Like I, between the hours of four and six, I wake up and have to go to the bathroom. It's like, what is happening to me? Maybe you're extra hydrated. Maybe, but I'm not. Like, I'm drinking the same amount of water as I probably normally do. And I always go to the bathroom right before I go to bed.
Starting point is 00:03:53 And I try and not drink. Like, I have now consciously been like, okay, don't drink too much water before getting into bed because you keep waking up in the middle of the night to be. and it's not stopping. It's really disrupting my sleep, I'll be honest. It's hard to fall back asleep at like 5 a.m. You know what it is, though?
Starting point is 00:04:09 Now that it's in your head, you're going to keep doing it. I know, I know. But you got to get it out of your head because now it's just going to be a subconscious thing where you wake up at that time and have to pee, even if you might not have to. I know. Now, like, even if I just am tossing and turning a little,
Starting point is 00:04:24 like if I just wake up a little, now my first thought is like, oh, do I have to get up and pee? You're going to be 28. Yeah, this year. That's nuts. I'm not saying that in a way that's like that's old. I don't think that's old.
Starting point is 00:04:36 It's more so like I met you when you were 23. Yeah. But how old are you when you met friend? 19. Isn't that great? That's even sounds more crazy to me. But 19 to 24 doesn't sound as crazy. Well, you know, you well, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:51 23 to 28. I was also 22. What? Because February, so I started February 20, 17. Oh, you were 20. Like I started February 13th birthday. Yeah, February 2017. And so I was
Starting point is 00:05:07 turning 23 but not till September. So I was 22. Yeah. Oh shit. Man, we got... I was 21. It's a long fucking time. We got to retire. Yeah. We've been doing this for way too long.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Way too long. I know. Oh my gosh. When you say you're 60, you're not wrong. I know. Well, apparently I have to wake up to pee every single night now. It's just I go through phases like lately you know my pee struggles first of all I've staged right
Starting point is 00:05:36 you do massively that it's one of those things that I'm sure people can relate to this if they have public bathrooms at their work so like at our office our bathrooms are stalls and it's like the girls bathroom and the boys bathroom but they're stalls
Starting point is 00:05:51 and so if I will sit down to pee like I have to like concentrate on peeing and if somebody comes in during that concentration period. Yeah. It's over. And then I'm like, fuck, now they think I'm pooping.
Starting point is 00:06:05 And like, which is fun. No, she, I mean, she has a problem with it. It's, everybody does it. I don't poop at work. No.
Starting point is 00:06:16 I have. Sometimes when you, look, sometimes when you got to go, you got to go. No, listen, and I am not shaming
Starting point is 00:06:22 anybody from that. If you got to go, you got to go. You know how I feel about that. I'm very secretive about that in my life. I've never, And I think I may have said this.
Starting point is 00:06:31 It goes on par with your dislike of bathroom humor. It's just. I've never even, and I can't even, I'll look. I've never even in front of a boy. Yeah. Like ever in my life. And I don't plan on it. Eventually it is, eventually it is going to happen.
Starting point is 00:06:46 Wait, you said a public bathroom? No, I'm talking about in the office. Like, I'll go and like, because then I'll be concentrating on peeing. And then I'll hear someone come in. And then it's like taking me really long to get to pee out. And I'm like, great. They think I'm put. See, I would think that for girls, it would be easier since you already have to sit down and go into a stall.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Where, like, for me, it's like, I'm just going to the urinal, like, if I was to go into a stall and sit down, that's like a huge jump for me. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. That's a whole process. I do feel like there is the one, there is, like, the one bathroom that's just like a one bathroom situation. That's where you go. And that's, yeah, that's, and I feel like that's just like, I'll never go into that bathroom because I feel like it's just the poop bathroom. Like, I feel like all the guys just go in there to poop.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Right. All the boys use it. probably smells gross. Exactly. Every time I see someone, every time I see someone walking in or out of that bathroom, I'm like, oh, you had to be. And I would, I would die if somebody caught me
Starting point is 00:07:42 coming out of that bathroom. I know, I never go into that bathroom. Never. I would die. Like, I know, you have to know what? I know that this is a very normal day-to-day thing. People do. I have no idea why.
Starting point is 00:07:55 As normal is going to be. This is a little irrational. It really is. It so is. And it's just something that I like to keep private, like a little mystery, you know? I've had to block the door for her. Right. She has.
Starting point is 00:08:09 She has. Like at the time when she's like, I have to go. But nobody can know, like, I need to make sure no one's in the bathroom. And you need to like lock, you need to watch the door so that nobody comes in to the grass. Wait, would you be the same way like with Fran? Like, could you be in the bathroom with you or no? I would never. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Fran can. It's like people like Fran, Devin. Totally fine. Like, you got to be really close to me. And like, like, Fran said, like, she's had to, like, look out for me. And I, like, obviously, I would never care for somebody else. Sorry, no can go. Ria isn't there.
Starting point is 00:08:44 She'll be like, someone's coming, someone's coming. And I'm like, oh, fuck. But if anybody pooped in front of me or whatever, I would never care. I would never judge them. Like, it's not coming from a place of judgment. Yeah. It's coming from a weird, my own self of wanting. a little mystery in my life.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Like, I'll go in the bathroom here and, like, if some, you know what I really don't like? It's if someone, if you're making noise, like, I'm trying to figure out how to say this without it being really, like, gross. Yeah, we, like, we don't need to go, like, fishing noises? I feel like, we're already going too deep into this right now. But, like, when people are, like, sigh, like, after in the stall, like, I wouldn't call anyone here, but there's one guy I'm thinking of right now, who I know. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:09:25 And they're like, oh, like, it's like. No, no, no, no, no. It's like, why would you ever do that? I'm fine with discussing this until a certain point, and now I'm done. I want to tell you after who I'm thinking of, but yeah. Nope, nope, I don't even want to know. I don't want to know. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:42 It changes the whole perspective. All right, I feel like that's maybe enough bathroom humor. I just want, I just, I mean, not bathroom humor, bathroom talk. I just wanted to share that I literally can't stop peeing in the middle of the night. It's tough, tough out there. I feel like I almost just broke my ribs on that cough If you're getting up Do you ever go get a snack?
Starting point is 00:10:02 No Last night I woke up Meadilly had to go back to that And I just, there was a jello in my fridge And I just ate the jello Oh, Jello! It was from when I had my wisdom teeth out It was still there
Starting point is 00:10:15 That makes a lot more sense Yeah Was it jello or was it pudding? No, it was jello. It was red, like the red cherry I used to love Wait, you don't like jello? I used to love it. of the Jello brand pudding.
Starting point is 00:10:29 Oh, yeah. The chocolate pudding. Yeah. Or the chocolate vanilla. No, the chocolate vanilla. Chaka vanilla. Oh, and then you mix it together.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Yeah, you get like the three and the six pack. Yeah. That was really good. That was so good. That was a perfect little snack. I know. Come home from school, have one of those. Oh.
Starting point is 00:10:47 And you can almost like taste the chemicals in it. But it's a taste of good. Wait, do you guys like to animals? Is that what it's called? Yeah. Like the. Just the animal. crackers. No, no, no, no, the, um, like it was a drink. Like you put in the fridge. Oh, the yogurt.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. They had the, they had the, they had the Speed Lives, I can Cody down in animals contest. Oh, yeah. Those are so good. Like the little smoothie drinks. Those were good, too. Yeah, or gogerts. I have some gogerts in my fridge actually right now. Frozen gogurt. Yeah, that's what the dreams are made of. Yeah. All right, well, all right, let's get in today's show. Let's do it. Oh, uh, it's. It's, uh, it's. episode 400. Oh yeah. Episode 400 400 400-400. Congratulations to us and you.
Starting point is 00:11:35 And all of you. Yeah, congrats to everybody listening. If you've been listening since the first episode, cool. Yeah. If you've heard a lot of us. Yeah. How have you guys not gotten tired? A little trivia for you guys. What was the first episode titled? I have no idea. Was it
Starting point is 00:11:57 I feel like it was something with Haley and Justin. Was it Justin and Haley Beaver got married? Justin and Haley. Engaged? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I knew it was something about Justin Haley. Yeah, that was close. Engaged.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Okay, well, not too shabby. I like it when we used to write the titles out, it was just written like a sentence. Like everything was lowercase. You know what I also like? That kind of means that we've been doing the podcast and the same amount of, like, our timeline is the same as Justin and Haley's engagement wedding.
Starting point is 00:12:25 You know what that's nice. They're still going strong. we're still going strong. And then when they get divorced, this podcast will end. Yep. I was going to say, if they get divorced, we have to be. If they were to ever split up, that's, we're going to be like, well, guys, this is, this is it.
Starting point is 00:12:38 This is our last, this is our last episode. Can't go any farther. It would be perfect if it was like episode 500 or like episode 1,000, like a milestone episode. So, yeah. Also, they got divorced. But I'm not. I'm rooting. 500 is way too soon.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Between 300 and 400 went so fast. When was 300? It was like last fall. 300 was like not that long ago. It was like no, it was in June. What? 300 was on June 23rd. I guess that was fair.
Starting point is 00:13:10 I mean, we're doing four a week right now. That's what I'm saying less than a year. So you definitely don't want to have that happening in less than a year. They still made it longer than I think a lot of people thought they were. For sure. For sure. Justin's back on tour right now. Yeah, I saw some videos.
Starting point is 00:13:25 A lot of famous people. I was rooting for them the whole time. Yeah. You were. Yeah. Day one. All right. Let's get into today's show.
Starting point is 00:13:32 We got the Jeff Wittick and David Doberk drama continues to unravel. Blog Squad will explain that. Travis Barker and Courtney Kardashian were seen having a very steaming makeout on the beach. Pete Davidson's got a new show produced by Lauren Michaels. Kim Kardashian is getting a lot of heat for this quote in the new variety article about the new Kardashian show. And we have an awesome, very funny interview with Tofer Grace. He was awesome. We also talk about the Bachelor.
Starting point is 00:13:58 with him, which I thought was hilarious. So let's get into it, starting off with Jeff Whitick and David Dover. You guys know how much we love Sling TV. So this Jeff Wittick and David Dobrick drama continues on. For those who are not familiar who Jeff Wittick, David Dobrick are, or the drama involving them. Jeff Wittick was a part of David Dobrick's vlog squad. Obviously, David would produce these four minute and 20 second vlogs. They would come out weekly.
Starting point is 00:15:17 They used to come out multiple times a week. And then Jeff Wittick got into a terrible accident while filming one of these blogs. They were on it. He was on an ex-second. I think that's how you pronounce it, that David was driving and it ended really poorly. The video is online. It's actually terrible to watch, but I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure.
Starting point is 00:15:40 I mean, Jeff put it in his blog or, I mean, his documentary. So if you want to watch that, you could see what happened to his face and all that. And he got severely fucked up. He almost went blind in his eyes. His whole head was cut open. It was a whole thing. And he got severely injured. And then he didn't talk about it for a while.
Starting point is 00:15:55 And David stopped his logs for a while. And then Jeff made a whole documentary about what happened, all the surgeries he's had to go through. And then recently Jeff had to get another surgery for his eye. And he said that David Dobrick did not reach out to him. And this is where the drama picked back up. I think that they tried to make amends after the incident happened. You see David in Jeff's documentary. And, you know, David's trying to like make it up to Jeff.
Starting point is 00:16:24 And Jeff's trying to forgive him. And then I think things went south. I don't know exactly where, but like Jeff said in his podcast, like he's like, David never reached out to me. I got after this current surgery that I got. And he felt like he should be reaching out all the time and every time he gets surgery because this accident he's saying is because of his blog. And then David hadn't spoke on it publicly until this past week.
Starting point is 00:16:52 He talked about on his podcast because Jeff was talking about on his podcast. And also, there was a roast of Bryce Hall that happened before the Super Bowl. I know that it might have been like a week before the Super Bowl. And they cut out Jeff's set. And there's a lot of rumors going around about why Jeff's set was cut. Jeff said on his Instagram story that it was because of David and because he was making jokes about David. That roast was run by Jason Nashley. It's like David's like best time.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Yes. And also sponsored by Seekek, which was obviously a big sponsor of David Dobrook. So Jeff said that, you know, his set got cut because of him. Other people were saying that it was cut because of some jokes Jeff was making. And other people's jokes got cut like Josh Richards jokes got cut. Some other people's jokes got cut because of like the tone of the jokes. So it's kind of unclear on whether or not David's. really did have a say on whether or not Jeff's jokes got cut or whatever it is, but this is what Jeff seems to believe.
Starting point is 00:17:59 And then David went on his podcast this past week to talk about what happened. And he said that it's time for him to talk about it. He hasn't talked about it publicly. And obviously he was very apologetic. And he said it's the worst thing that's ever happened to him. He would do anything to take it back. He wish it was him up there. He was the one driving. and I David also said that Jeff wanted to keep it between David and him that it was Jeff's idea to get up there I guess
Starting point is 00:18:31 because then that makes it look like it was Jeff's fault either way I think that the situation is terrible and I think that sometimes David Doberk has a hard time like taking blame for things that have happened in his blogs I think we've seen that in the past because he's obviously made so many videos and so many things that have happened.
Starting point is 00:18:55 And because of his status and the amount of views that he gets on YouTube, people will do anything for his blogs. And I think that's kind of where Jeff, his head was at when he got up there. It was like, oh, anything for the blog? And then he got severely injured and regretted that decision.
Starting point is 00:19:11 So it's kind of just a constant back and forth between the two. And I don't know. I'm not really, I feel very bad for, for Jeff, obviously. Like, I, it's a weird, like, you don't, it's a weird thing to, like, take sides on this kind of issue, right? Because it's like, obviously you feel terrible for Jeff, his whole face and his eye,
Starting point is 00:19:33 everything got fucked up. And then you're like, well, if he got up there, right? And he told David it was okay for him to drive. And now David has to live with that. It sucks that David did that. I think David is, of course, at fault. in some capacity. But, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:19:53 Yeah, I think that how much it has been discussed of, like, the pressures that David has intentionally or unintentionally put on his friends to do stuff for videos is really, like, a major part of that, too. I don't really know if any of them have ever felt like, oh, like, I'm going to tell David no to do this. And also, it is just kind of a dick move. move to have this happen to Jeff. Major accident.
Starting point is 00:20:23 One, like, maybe David should be paying for literally all of these surgeries. Yeah, I'm not. Yeah. He basically was like, like, if he has to go back and do more, like, has to get more surgeries, like. David was basically him and Natalie, like, on the podcast were saying, like, they've paid $78,000. But then Jeff responded to that being, like, you set us up with, like, a terrible
Starting point is 00:20:46 insurance company. And, like, David's trying to say that Jeff. doesn't tell him or loop him into the surgery so he can't pay but but they were also Jeff was like 78 grand it's like a seat geek deal for you like you have like millions of dollars yeah right right and I I I this one also I do think that it is kind of a dick move to have this this happens right and clearly like you see what has happened to Jeff and you're so selfish in that you have to try and make yourself look better that you have the guy who got injured
Starting point is 00:21:26 ask you like can you promise me one thing just like promise me are never going to talk about how this was my I mean this is also what David said David says that they made that he agreed that he would never talk about how Jeff had said that this was quote his idea like the whole you know the video whatever him going up there the video his idea
Starting point is 00:21:46 and so David had said like one of the main reasons, I think Jeff is bummed with him right now is because he saw David do an interview where he said it. Like he said like it was Jeff's idea. And I, and it's, I just feel like that's kind of a dick move to be like, oh, yeah, he's mad at me because I broke a promise where I said I wasn't going to say that it was his idea, but here I am saying that it was his idea, just so that he can save face. Yeah, I think that, um, in David Dillbrick's life, like everything just revolves around around David.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Like I've had a hard time. Honestly, like I don't look at his videos the same way that I did before all of this and before everything else that happened with the blog squad. Like it's hard to watch it the same way because you're just like,
Starting point is 00:22:36 you feel bad for a lot of them. And also when you think about the fact that it was like Corinna was up there right before Jeff and that could have been Corinna, who got severely, I mean, no matter who it is, but you're just like.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Right. Could have been anyone. It could have been anyone. but like none of that should have happened in the first place. And I think that he just is all about like views and laughs and whatever and like never thought about his consequences and is still not really thinking about the consequences of what he did. And also for him like like a warped brain like at this point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:06 When you're like when your whole career is based around this, especially in like your early 20s, I just feel like he hasn't like the way his, the way like he's developed is not like a normal human. And also when he's like, he's like, it's the worst thing that ever happened to me. It's like, it's probably the worst thing ever happened to Jeff.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Right. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, it's kind of, he's putting it on him, making people feel bad for him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Yeah. You should feel bad for Jeff. He started the whole, just the one that got severely hurt. He started the whole podcast kind of being like, I've been in a bad, like trying to make people feel bad for him. Like,
Starting point is 00:23:44 I've been in a bad, a dark place. Like, and I'm sure he has, but it's like, like you weren't the one who almost died. Right. Yeah, exactly. And I feel really bad for Jeff because I used to watch like a lot of Jeff's videos and just
Starting point is 00:24:00 apart from the vlog squad too. And you can kind of tell his whole demeanor and his whole personality has changed since the incident. And you just kind of, you feel bad for him because he's clearly going through so much and having to go through all these surgeries and obviously probably dealing with now some, you know, things that go on top of that like anxiety, depression, all these mental health issues on top of also physically not feeling well. So I do feel really bad for Jeff and I, I don't know, I think that with David, it's just like people are still going to watch him. People are, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:37 people who have been fans of him for so long are always going to give him those views. And I think, I think he'll end up kind of just. I don't know. I want to stay fading away, but I really don't know. Because he kind of has a little bit, but people still watch, but he's not as talked about. And his videos are never going to be the same. It's never going to be what it was. No. Eventually, you have to move on from that as well. Just like even, I just think even if there wasn't, like, even if this didn't happen or even if, you know, the allegations from the girls in the video like things like that like if those things didn't happen eventually you have
Starting point is 00:25:24 to graduate from the kinds of videos he was making like that's just not sustainable forever i don't think anyway but now with those things that are that are looming constantly like i don't know i for my perspective like i watched some of this stuff i wasn't that into it i would see some things here or there sometimes maybe i if you had a good guest i watch his podcast after this reading about him and then of course like the big scandal i i haven't watched a single one of his things and i don't think i ever will like i just don't care for him at all so yeah i'm i'm kind of out on it yeah like i said it's just not the same at all and i think that jeff is genuinely like a nice guy and i feel like he's he's just kind of lost now because he feels like
Starting point is 00:26:12 his supposed one of his best friends is just not really there for him like yeah david's Like as much as David says like, oh, Jeff isn't like looping me in or whatever. Like David should be on top of it. For sure. Like he should he should be probably constantly checking it on Jeff. Right. And not just like a one off here, $78,000 to pay for this one thing. And then like you're fine and we don't really have to interact anymore.
Starting point is 00:26:39 Like you should probably consistently check up, check in on him when he literally almost died. And like you said, it does feel like Jeff, his like, demeanor and it's a head injury like it does feel seem like things have changed and you can't just be like oh well you know he hasn't reached out it's like well what like you kind of you have to be the one to reach out and put in the effort and do those things when somebody goes through such a crazy accident like that and I think like you said because he's so young and everything has kind of revolved around him for so long. And if you did watch the old
Starting point is 00:27:22 Blog Squad videos, and you, I'm like recalling how everything would go back to David being like super rich and successful. Like, even Josh Peck would be like, oh my, like, my days are in the spotlight are over. Like, I'm relying on David Doberk. And like, Jason would be like, you're putting my kids through school. And like, everything was like,
Starting point is 00:27:41 David Doberts, the golden child. And like, our whole lives revolved around him and he's supplying us with like everything. And that's obviously, As much as they were joking or not joking, it's obviously going to get to somebody's head. It'll warp your brain when all you're being told by all your friends is like, oh, like, I make my living off of David and like, thank God for David. And David, he's so great.
Starting point is 00:27:59 Oh, do you see, look at all the money he's giving away. Look at everything he's giving to his friends. Like, you get like a, like a God complex, you know? Yeah. If you're that person, like, you start to think of yourself in a very different way. And I think, like you said, he kind of just surrounds himself with yes men. and it got to the point where everyone said yes all the time and then somebody ended up getting really hurt
Starting point is 00:28:23 so I think now that probably has to change. And then all of a sudden it's like oh that wasn't my idea. It was it's like oh okay the one time you're not going to you're you'll take credit for all the good things that happen but and it is he he is saying like I know I fucked up it's on me biggest regret of my life he is saying those things but to say those things and then to pair it with oh by the way I broke his promise to keep it like that it was his idea like you're not you're contradicting yourself something that david dobrook does like when he got canceled the other time where it's like
Starting point is 00:28:55 he doesn't talk about anything until the pressure is like impossible to ignore where everyone is like online talking about right then he just addresses it to save face like he didn't talk about it yeah like ever until like now yeah that's what makes them seem like a coward because you're like if you have nothing to hide or whatever it is just like get out in front of it and start talking about it and I don't know but they those people they like have like they like really listen to their publicists and stuff like oh we shouldn't say anything it sucks just like it's not just David I feel like Jeff was friends with that whole group and now like they all just chose David and so like he probably just doesn't talk to anyone he hung out with for years right it's it's it's pretty sad and
Starting point is 00:29:38 I hope that Jeff ends up feeling better and finding his place because I do feel like he seems like his cold demeanor has changed a bit. Yeah, definitely. A little Courtney Kardashian and Travis Barker update, they were seeing passionately steamy, making out all over the beach. And apparently a family nearby were not happy. Some beachgoers, they had to tell them to knock it off.
Starting point is 00:30:05 It's a public place. There's children around. And these two, you know, I'm just happy that at that age, and it's, and you say, that age, but I don't like that because I really don't think, I don't think that's old or anything. It's just like you wouldn't expect two 40-something-year-olds to be passionately making out on the beach like that. And it does feel like she's going into her best, I hate to use this term, but like sexual era of her life. Right. And so you're almost really happy for her like, wow.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Yeah, like I just feel she's been embracing it. Like it's just. Yeah. Like some people, they dry up at that age. Yeah. You don't want that. So for them to be... Honestly, goals. Yeah. I hate saying that, but like, I kind of want to be making out with my whoever it is, boyfriend, husband, fiance, like... Same. You know? I hope that at that age... Passionately making out on the beach. And so as people judge them, because they're going to be like, as 40-something year olds that you should know better. But if you were in your early 20s or younger than that, you would be passionately making out on the beach and people would still be upset with you. So do, I think that a family would be upset maybe seeing that their younger kids? Possibly.
Starting point is 00:31:27 But am I one to care about that? No. No. Because will I be passionately making out on the beach? Yes. Have I done that? Yes. So who am I to judge? Right. And like a family, if they're like, aha, like, you know, get a room. It's like you can laugh it off. And it does seem like, at least from the TMZ article, it said that after that happened, where it was like, oh, nearby family walked up to them. Don't know what they said. But after that, then they ran down into the ocean. Like, the pictures are so funny because like they're on the beach. One. And of course, like, it's the classic being like fully clothed on the beach, which I just feel like they always, they always are. But she was, she was in a bathing suit. He was in like shorts, a bathing suit, like shirtless. But she had jeans on. And I guess maybe she
Starting point is 00:32:19 had just walked down to the beach, like with her jeans on. She had a black like one piece suit on. And like he, she, she's on top of him. He's pulling her jeans off. Like if you just look at the still frame, it's like, holy moly. Okay. Whoa. We're just like it looks like they're just derobing. And I'm, I'm really happy about it. Like I don't have much to say. I mean, the people online are going to be upset and the families are going to be upset. I love it. I think we just need to be happy that they feel this passionately about each other. I know.
Starting point is 00:32:54 I love it. Why can't we love and passion? I know. And it just seems like, and there's always all this talk about just in the world of celebrities, right, of fake relationships and playing it up and, you know, not. This is passion. This is love. These two, like, this is actual,
Starting point is 00:33:16 legit feelings, and you can see it, you can feel it, even just from looking at these pictures. So, who are we to say that they can't be doing that? You know, if they were fully naked, sure, that breaks some laws. But if they're just having a little fun, taking a little dip into the ocean,
Starting point is 00:33:35 do it. Do it. And also, you can't be fully naked doing that, because then you might become a registered, sex offender when you're not a sex offender. So you don't want to be doing that. But if you are passionately making out their clothes on, I see no issue with it. These kids got to grow up one day. They got to see what Kisten's like.
Starting point is 00:33:53 So let him see it with Courtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. Who better to teach them than those two? Right. A great story to tell. And I, you know, I hate to kind of like pair these things together, but I guess the Scott Dissick and Holly from Too Hot to Handle thing is like actually a thing. but the way that Scott it's funny because it just feels like
Starting point is 00:34:15 they're both living in young they're both like I'm trying to explain this the right way like Courtney and Travis making out on the beach like it feels very I feel like the last time I made out on a beach was like high school you know and this and it's like the same thing like Scott's commenting on Holly's pictures being like
Starting point is 00:34:38 where's my photo cred like and she's like changing her captions to be like photo cred at let the lord be with you it's just like the funny flirting online like you know who you know who comments like oh where's my photo cred my my 12 year old cousins like friends yeah like when she when she posted instagram and like all of her like everybody's and she gets like all these comments oh my god like whatever and then there's like the one that's like oh my god hello photo cred like Like that's like Scott. Yeah, or yeah, like, or when you were talking to a boy and he, you took a picture of him and his friends and then they post the picture and you comment like photocrat. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Who took that amazing picture? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. It's like, oh my God, great photo. Who took that? I once gave the driest hand job of all time on a beach. On a beach? I mean, the combo sand.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Oh, that sounds awful. Like we had nowhere else to go. Yeah. And we went to, we like got ice cream and then went on the beach and we were obviously like making out and stuff. And then I gave literally the driest hand job long islands ever seen. It's hilarious. I mean, honestly, like making it out on the beach is fine.
Starting point is 00:35:55 Going anywhere past that is just not worth it. Like you can say. Yeah, I don't even know why I was giving hand jobs. Like, at least giving something more than that. Like, what are you doing? No, but also like not because then when you're, You get sand everywhere. It's really, honestly, it's just not enjoyable.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Like, it's, for some reason it's romanticized. It's like, oh, like sneak down to the beach, lay down a blanket, like the whole thing. It's awful. It's not. I've never had sex on a beach and it doesn't, people don't advertise it as anything great. They just say sand gets up there. You get sand in places you just really can't get the sand out. And that doesn't seem like fun.
Starting point is 00:36:35 No, it's not good. It's not. And holes you wish to. You guys are pool. If you had to choose pool or beach. Not for like sex, just in general. Not for sex, just in general, I'm saying. I can't tell if Noah started to get uncomfortable about us talking about sex.
Starting point is 00:36:49 He was like, what do you guys prefer? Pool or beach? Not sex though, just like location. No, no, I'm just wondering. You guys, you guys, beach people. You guys lake people? Yeah, yeah. I love a good lake.
Starting point is 00:37:01 It really depends on where I'm at. I would normally say beach. I think I'm much more of a beach person. But I love, like, a resort pool. Like a big pool Yeah like a big resort pool Cabana Like a little lazy river
Starting point is 00:37:14 Yeah When we went to a Rupa And you go in the pool I mean you go to the beach But then you go in the pool after the beach Yeah I love nothing more than the pool after the beach Yeah like I would choose
Starting point is 00:37:25 I would choose beach like summertime You know if it's be I'm definitely more of a beach person But like vacation What about a lake? I love sitting at a pool Lakes are awesome Love lakes
Starting point is 00:37:36 The only thing I like about a pool as if has a good diving board. Lakes are great because I feel like a lot of times when lakes are involved, some kind of boat or something like that is involved and that's always fun. Tubing. Yeah. Oh, you guys, do you a water skier, wakeboard? I have never water skied.
Starting point is 00:37:53 I have tried to wakeboard and it was an absolute failure. I will never, I probably will never try again. My legs, I was the most, it was so painful. You know, like those pontoon boats? Like, they're just really slow. Yeah, yeah. We tried to like wake up. board off one of those and you just aren't going fast.
Starting point is 00:38:10 You can't go fast enough. No, I tried one time on the ones that like, the wake, what's the difference? There's wakeboarding. Is that when you're like locked in? Wakeboarding is like snowboarding, basically. Yeah, but then there's like wake surfing where you're like, you just have your feet on the board. There's no.
Starting point is 00:38:28 I don't know. You're not attached. I try that and that shit is hard. That's hard. That would scare me because I would feel like I'm going to fall and like hit my face on the board. Yeah, no, it's so hard. Things underwater.
Starting point is 00:38:41 Like, lakes kind of sometimes gross me out. Like, and I get, if something touches my leg, like, I'm like, oh. Lakes can be sneaky real deep. You don't know what's at the bottom of those. And they're kind of like, like, mucky and you can see it. And it's like, I kind of get weird. I don't know. No, I totally.
Starting point is 00:38:55 So if you jump in the water, like, in the middle of the lake, it's like, what, what could possibly be under here? Yeah. Yeah. I'm not, like, frozen lake. I'm not like a huge lake person. Yeah. Like I don't mind it, but I don't prefer the left. Yeah, it would probably be at the bottom.
Starting point is 00:39:12 What, how did you even get on this topic? I'm so, I don't even remember where the start. Oh, yeah, because no one did they want it. No one wanted, no, no, no, not this, but I'm saying, how did you get to that? Oh, Courtney Kardashian making it on the beach. Oh, okay, okay. Oh, Travis Barker. Anyways, good, good for them.
Starting point is 00:39:26 Anyway, they seem to be beach people. It's good for them. They seem to be bitch people. Good for them. Barstall has a new men's grooming line. It's called Wood. We have it. The products. are all over the office. I know all the guys are trying it. I've been recommending it to the men in my life.
Starting point is 00:39:42 They have amazing products across hair, body, beard, and shave. Great scents. Golden Hour, summer house, fresh tracks. I love the golden hour scent. I had the body wash in my shower in LA for the Super Bowl and was using it. And honestly, it just, it smells so good. They have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturizer, deodorant, facial cleanser, face scrub, beard conditioner. oil, shape cream, which is so nice because sometimes, you know, man, you got to get a little bit of a of a skincare routine going. It doesn't have to be crazy, but a cleanser, a moisturizer, a little beard oil, if you got a beard going, it's so important. So wood makes it so easy to take care of yourself. It looks so nice in your bathroom. You don't have everything cluttered. It's just all one line of
Starting point is 00:40:30 product that you can use for everything. All the products are $15 or less. You can shop wood at getwood.com or at your local CVS. That's getwood.com or at your local CVS. Some Pete Davidson news that is just about Pete. I know Kanye put out another music video. I know Pete's in it again, not talking about it. We're talking about Pete and the man, the myth, the legend that he is,
Starting point is 00:40:57 because he's going to be starring in a new show. I feel like Lauren Michaels loves Pete Davidson so much. Like he would give anything to Pete Davidson. and movie show. Like, you want to come on S&L twice a year? Sure. Like, you can be on your whole schedule, whatever you want to do.
Starting point is 00:41:12 So, Pete, it does feel like a little King of Staten Island where it was like, oh, he's playing, it's a character, but it's like kind of based on him, you know? So now this is a show. He's going to star as a fictional version of himself in a comedy series. It is tentively being called Bupkiss.
Starting point is 00:41:34 and he's co-writing with his long-time friend and collaborator Dave Cyrus as well as Judah Miller and it says deals are still being finalized for the series which comes from S&L Lord Michael's Broadway video and Universal Television where the company is under a deal bupkis is described as a raw unflinching fictionalized version of Pete Davidson's real life It will include a mixture of grounded storytelling with absurd elements depicted, depicting an unfiltered view through Pete's eyes. The show, which has been compared to Larry David's Kirby, enthusiasm is expected to reflect Davidson's real-life persona
Starting point is 00:42:14 with an unapologetically unfiltered R-rated storytelling. I fucking love that. Comparing it to Kerr makes me very excited. Yeah, cool. I'll watch anything Pete Davidson's in. I'm one of those people. It'll be like Kirby Enthusiasm, except he's like hooking up with the hottest girls like in the world. Yeah, yeah. I'm not ashamed to say that I'm one of those girls who watch
Starting point is 00:42:37 anything Pete Davidson has said, I will. So will I watch this show and probably love it? Yes. I'm very excited for it. Like, with a straight face that you had a chance with Pete Davidson. Oh my God. You know what? I stand by that. At the time. He's with Kim Kardashian. No, no, no. At the time, I said it. It was not now. Obviously, I get it, Noah. No, no, but like at that point, Hadn't he dated like Kate Beck and Sarah? No, but I'm telling you. I'm telling you, Noah. Kick a girl while she's down.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Yeah, she's got the flu. Come on. No, it's nothing against you. Let me tell you something. My self-esteem is in the gutter. Yes, and it is, we would always hear about him, about to throw this. We would always hear about him with the high profile women
Starting point is 00:43:24 because that's what's going to be in the news. We don't hear about him on a date with the 23-year-old from Brooklyn. that he met on Raya, which does definitely happen. I'm just saying it happened a lot, I think. So that's what I'm saying, Ria stood a chance. I still I still stand by that.
Starting point is 00:43:43 Maybe not, you know. Ria's like, you don't think I could woo. She's like, let me just get rid of this phlegm. Once I get rid of this cough, I'm unstoppable for when it comes to Pete. Not my looks, but maybe my personality would have been able to lose. Oh, don't sell yourself short. And not at this point in time anymore because
Starting point is 00:44:06 obviously there's no going back from Kim Kardashian. I clearly do not have shot. I mean, they're not going to, they're not going to like live happily ever after. So who knows where he'll go from here. No, I'll be honest though, but I would be like, I think I would be okay. I don't know Pete Davidson anymore. Yeah, yeah, exactly. There's a, there's something about this where and this is not a, this is just like, I feel like after all, the relationships and everything like, okay, okay, yes, these are all, you know, beautiful, beautiful
Starting point is 00:44:36 women. You can't get stuck comparing yourself. Every woman's beautiful in their own way, so you're not sure. You can't be like, ah, God, is he looking at me and thinking of Cape Beaconsale? Because it's got to be tough. But, Kim Kardashian,
Starting point is 00:44:53 I just, I just... It's just like status, you know. Yeah. Although, solely for the Eskimo sister Bragg worth it I mean you would be Eskimo sister
Starting point is 00:45:04 with so many people with Pete Davidson like cool people so many cool people Who else is he It's been Kate Like who are the big ones Kate Kim
Starting point is 00:45:12 Ariana Grande Oh Ariana Grande I forgot about her Phoebe Dinavore Yeah Margaret Qualey Yeah Cassie David
Starting point is 00:45:20 Cassie David Maria Chafo I'm so sick We've lost her We've lost her. Anyway, I'm very excited for this project. I think that's an absolutely great idea. And I feel like Pete is just going along, living his life, getting projects, working on new movies, dating Kim, and just leaving all the drama and other stuff behind, which is great. It's good to see.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Okay. And a little just Kardashian update because they just did a massive variety article. talking about the new show for Hulu. It does sound, it sounds great, seems like they're very excited about it. It seems like they're going to be doing it a little bit more, like, docu-series, sort of, I guess. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:12 It just, like, they were very excited about the drones and everything involved. Biggest takeaways were they're all getting, rumor is this was a nine-figure deal and all the sisters are getting paid equally, because they're all equal. They're all getting paid equally. I think
Starting point is 00:46:30 I think Kim should get more Chloe No they're equals Chloe is like the Tristan Thompson stuff We're going to see some of that We're not as of right now Not actually seeing Pete Davidson But Kim did say like
Starting point is 00:46:42 Maybe there's an opportunity It wouldn't be this season But maybe next season And that she is open to discussing Like how they met and things like that So maybe we get some background Of their relationship Apparently Kanye filmed the first episode
Starting point is 00:46:56 Before things went to shit And then after that, I don't think we'll probably be seeing him at all. Show her side of like just seeing what Connie's doing right now or now. No, it seemed more like she was like, I'm never going to talk poorly about the father of my children. So like I'm always, it just feels like even if the shit that is happening, it's not going to be really over the top. It's like, maybe they touch on it. But it just feels like she's like, I don't want it. It made it seem like, you know, I don't want my kids to like watch this and like hear me talking about their diet like that.
Starting point is 00:47:26 So it feels like that's probably not going to be touched on as much. I think we're going to see a lot of Courtney and Travis. I thought Scott was going to be in the show, but now I feel like I'm not quite sure because he wasn't named once in this variety article. And they like really felt like went very in depth on this, on the deal and what we're getting. So I'm not sure what the status is there. But we're going to, we're going to see a lot. They're going to be back.
Starting point is 00:47:55 Chris Jenner, you know, she said money always matters. They walked away from E and they, she never, she wouldn't reveal like bidding war if things are really happening. She's like, oh, you know, I'm not going to, don't kiss and tell. Not going to, not going to share everything. But Hulu came out victorious with an alleged nine figure deal. So money, money, like she said, she said money always matters. So for that, they were like, yeah, we're, we're going to sign on. Wow, nine figures.
Starting point is 00:48:26 I was just like, what is nine? Nine figures is like 100 to $900 million. $999. But that's overall like split of, split it. Yeah, yeah. Like they could have signed a $500 million deal with everybody, you know, getting tens of millions of dollars. Like how many years?
Starting point is 00:48:44 As of right now, I think they only signed on for two seasons. Oh, wow. Yeah, I think it's 42 episodes, two seasons. Yeah. Something like that. I believe, yeah, I think you're right. I think it was like 20-ish episodes of season for two seasons. seasons and then I think then they revisit after that what a what a great gig they have just have
Starting point is 00:49:00 people fill in your life and that's it yeah and that's what kim Kardashian said she she said recently she was like I'm sorry that we don't have to after singer dance we just live our lives and we yeah that's that she has no shame in it and also something that's going around is the clip of her saying you know, people always ask me. Yeah. How do I? She said, I have the best advice for a woman in business. Get your fucking ass up and work.
Starting point is 00:49:31 It seems like nobody wants to work these days. She's getting, she's getting crushed for this from a standpoint of like just not acknowledging the privilege that she started with, you know, growing up in Beverly Hills, very well-connected parents and all those things. For me, it's like, I do, and I did see a lot of people posting about it saying, I'm not saying Kim doesn't work hard because I'm sure she does, but it's hard to say that
Starting point is 00:49:59 without acknowledging how many people do struggle and put in a ton of hard work working two, three jobs and still living paycheck to paycheck where it doesn't just come down to hard work. Wasn't Courtney getting attacked too? Yeah, somebody was so true. Yeah, so true. It's like Courtney, you literally,
Starting point is 00:50:18 and Courtney is on record of saying that work is like not her biggest priority which is fine like that's like that's her prerogative she can say that the problem was to me it was like because Kim does work her ass off she totally does we know it I think that's kind of crazy
Starting point is 00:50:35 to say she doesn't like she does she works but yes of course like for her to start these businesses and do these things were a lot easier for her from where she started I the way I think she tied it with it seems like
Starting point is 00:50:51 nobody wants to work these days is where she got herself in trouble. Who was she even talking about? Because it was like, I think that's where people were like, how dare she be like, it seems like nobody wants to work these days? How do you know? And it's like, who is she interacting with where she's like, yeah, like no one wants to work. Yeah. And yeah, she hustles.
Starting point is 00:51:09 Like not everybody has her schedule. Like not everybody is waking up at four or five in the morning, you know, going to the gym and taking care of your kids. No, but taking care of your kids and doing your business and skims and beauty. and still and trying to be a lawyer. Like, she's doing a lot. But you can credit you can credit yourself without taking a hit at other people. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:31 Right. Also, when people are working multiple jobs and they're still not seeing the income that they wish they had, it could be, it can cause a lack of motivation where it is Kim Kardashian and all the Kardashians are seeing millions of millions of dollars for all of what they're doing. So that makes them motivated to want to keep working. And people who are really rich only become richer and get really money hungry because they are so addicted to seeing that money come in that now they are motivated and they know it's coming in where it's like when people are not gaining that, they could lose motivation there too. So I do understand why people are like, okay, well, relax. Right.
Starting point is 00:52:16 But she does work hard. Like I don't think people. That's another thing is like I think people. I think people can criticize that quote while also acknowledging the fact that she works hard because people will automatically discredit that and be like, okay, Kid Kardashian, like, all she did was make a sex tape and become successful from that. And it's like, you don't just get, make a sex tape and then become super rich and famous after that. Like, there are things that go into it. If she wasn't talented and successful and work really hard, these things wouldn't come to
Starting point is 00:52:47 them. Yes, it came easier. They, they, they got. started off easier. Yeah. But like things wouldn't keep coming to them if they didn't continue to work hard. So I feel like when people discredit their work ethic, it's kind of stupid because they wouldn't be where they're at. But also they did have the privilege and resources that a lot of people do not have. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:07 I think. And I don't, like, it just is something that maybe she needed to elaborate a little bit more on. Like the variety article was full of very quick, sharp quotes that it felt like they were really trying to hit. I feel like it was the way she said it too. Yeah, it was like the way she said it. And I think she was trying to be like, boom, you know? And like if she took two seconds to elaborate, because it's not like Kim doesn't realize
Starting point is 00:53:31 that there are, you know, discrepancies in this country in different ways, like, from where you're from and how you grew up and all these different things that play a factor into this. I mean, her, she's dedicating this, the reason she's getting this, well, this degree. She wants, you know, whatever. whatever you want to call it, like she wants to be a lawyer to help with prison reform. So like researching prison reform, you're going to learn a lot about these things. And so she definitely knows these things.
Starting point is 00:54:04 And I feel like she tried to have like a gotcha. You know, you got to fucking work hard. I feel like nobody wants to work these days. It's like, no, no. She lost it a little bit. I feel like her intentions were probably good. But to throw out. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:20 Yeah, to throw out the second part of that, I feel like, is where people were like, hold the phone. Like, that's, you're pushing it a little bit. Yeah, I agree. But overall, I'm excited for the show. Hulu show is only about a month away now. I wonder if it's going to be like edited or shot differently or if it's going to be like the same thing. It seems like it's going to be shot a little bit differently. It looks a lot more, the way they just.
Starting point is 00:54:50 described it like I don't want to say high deaf but like cinematic yeah yeah yeah like with the drone shots and like all this like more production value yeah yes because I think I think it is I think their budgets way higher yeah yeah so I think that's going to play a huge factor of how it looks because I think their budget for actually producing the show is way higher so but you know the general premise I think will be the same they also said that there's a lot more of them filming individually then it was like a lot of stuff altogether. So you kind of see like for it to cut back and, whoa, just knocked the mic over,
Starting point is 00:55:29 like to cut back and forth, be like, oh, this is what Kim's doing. This is what Chloe's doing. This is what Courtney's doing. So yeah, how much the kids are going to be in it?
Starting point is 00:55:37 I would think a lot. Yeah. This is their time to shine now. Yeah, that's true. In the next 10 years, they're going to take their place. I know.
Starting point is 00:55:45 I know. Well, they're getting their practice on TikTok. We have an awesome interview with Tofer grace, we had so much fun and we talked about everything and it was it was great. He really made us laugh. But before we get into that, guys, there's an app that I have been using that is honestly saved me so much money. I did not realize how many subscriptions I have been signed up for and was paying for and totally forgot that I did that. So true bill, that's true bill, is a new app that
Starting point is 00:56:16 helps to identify and stop paying for subscriptions you don't need, want, or simply forgot about. On average, people save up to $720 a year with True Bill because companies make subscriptions hard to cancel. True Bill makes it incredibly simple. You just link your accounts and True Bill will cancel your unwanted subscriptions in one tap. And your True Bill concierge is there when you need to, when you need them to cancel unwanted subscriptions so you don't have to. I think one of my favorite things about this is that it's so that it's so.
Starting point is 00:56:46 simple. It's literally like one tap, one click. You can look at all of them, see what ones you don't want because companies make it so hard. I remember like a couple months ago I was trying to cancel a subscription. I couldn't find it on the website. I had to click on all these different links. I had to call. Like they make it so hard. So for True Bill, it's so easy. It's all in one place. And it's good to just kind of see everything that you're linked to. Like sometimes you really do forget about the things you sign up for. Maybe you did a free trial on a streaming service and didn't realize you never canceled it and you've been paying for it, True Bill will save you. True Bill has over two million users and has helped save them over $100 million. So don't fall for subscription
Starting point is 00:57:25 scams. Start canceling today at truebill.com slash chicks. That's truebill.com slash chicks. It could save you thousands a year. One more time, truebill.com slash chicks. All right, everyone, we are here with a very special guest in studio. We have actor Tofer Grace joining us. This is big. for us in studio because oh wow everything now is just over Zoom and we were just talking
Starting point is 00:57:51 right before you got in here we were like oh shit we're gonna have to like interact with him in person yeah and so far not good it's been
Starting point is 00:57:58 bad I'm gonna take off actually all right everyone thanks thanks for joining us and everyone no ladies and gentlemen tofer grace
Starting point is 00:58:08 no we I should by the way I should do that you should do that if I committed that and just walked out like we all thought
Starting point is 00:58:14 we were joking we did a big round of auditions for the show I'm on right now and saw a lot of amazing people. Some of them you're like, man, that person's so funny, but they wouldn't be right for this role. And we and this guy come in, we're like, this isn't right for the role. And he improvised, because it's like my younger brother
Starting point is 00:58:33 and it is much richer than me. And he improvised yelling at his maid, which is not something we would have had in the show. We were all cracking up. And he pretended to go out the door. and like yell at the maid and the kitchen or whatever and we're like that's crazy
Starting point is 00:58:49 and they're like oh my God what if we just like took off and they were like all right come back in and the guy left it was like part of his bit and I have not seen him since but when I do and maybe he'll hear about it
Starting point is 00:58:58 I was like that was so baller and can you and just like and it worked we were all laughing and he didn't even have to stick around to hear right and now you have to be considering him in the future at some point or something was he auditioning to play
Starting point is 00:59:11 your brother yeah okay So it wasn't Jimmy Taitro. No, it was not. No, he did not get the role. And we never got in touch with him. He actually, yeah, he's an accident right after that. He actually just disappeared.
Starting point is 00:59:26 Yeah, but I thought, what a talk about commitment. Yeah, that's right. Unfortunately, you didn't have the chops that he did. That's right. We didn't, yeah, that man's name is Timothy Charlemagne. Yeah, yeah. Unbelievable. What a career.
Starting point is 00:59:41 if only he'd stay if only Timothy had stayed yeah he would be on our show instead of Dune exactly probably would have worked out better for him yeah so you're in the second season of home economics how's it going that is the show we are talking about
Starting point is 00:59:56 that is the show that is the one you're talking about right now it's great the cast is like you know the weird thing is it's better saying it on one of these shows is um you can look right into that when you go on any of these shows you want to emphasize I've been in the business 20 years
Starting point is 01:00:10 you go on any of these shows and you're like love the cast. The cast is like a family. We all have the best time. Every day is a ball of laughs or whatever. But when it actually does happen, you don't know what to say because you're like, but really? Like it is. And they're like, well, you didn't mean it the last time or something? But I truly just, I mean, it's great.
Starting point is 01:00:30 The star of the show is the five people. And I just like, and I got to be part of them coming aboard it. And so I'm just like kind of fanning out on them all the time. It's great. Yeah. I feel like obviously you're not going to have like the worst experience ever on a set, but it's not going to be the best experience ever, right? But how would you describe that for like a movie that's just like, it went well,
Starting point is 01:00:53 the set was fine? It would be funny if I just did a whole junket and just answered honestly. I'm like, I don't know if it really turned out great. But like in this case, I think it's. Yeah, jobs and jobs is what it is. You have to show up every day. You got to show up every day. It's my contract.
Starting point is 01:01:10 But I do, like this one, I'm a producer on it, but it's not, I have very little power. But I really wanted to like read with everyone when they were. And then you still don't know because I'm like, I get along well, especially Carla who plays my wife. I was like, because I have so much stuff with her. I really wanted to be someone I thought was amazing. But like you don't know how the whole group's going to do. And the whole group has to have that chemistry. And it's kind of like dating.
Starting point is 01:01:33 Either you, you know what I mean? You can't, you could have say, these two people go so great together and everyone thinks they will and it just doesn't. and and I'd been on a show where there was a really great chemistry between a group and I was like man what are the odds this can happen again and the first day I went to work I was really nervous about it and like say 48 hours later I was driving home and I was like cocky I don't even have to do that but it's like yeah exactly what do you know it's a series of green lights but I was I was seriously so um thrilled because I felt that thing and you go it's just you know it's magic when it happens and sometimes it doesn't happen
Starting point is 01:02:10 So then were you on board first and you really got to see all the other cast auditions? Yeah, and I said, I want to read with everybody who will come in to read. And we had some, like, famous people who cut, or I would say everyone was known who's on our show, but there were some very famous people who were interested. And since I was on first, I was kind of like, I just, let's read. If it's there, what's the problem? And it's, I don't know, it's some ego thing in Hollywood, but some people wouldn't do it. And we just made a hard rule.
Starting point is 01:02:41 It would have made me feel more comfortable to be on a poster with, you know, kind of share that responsibility a little bit. But then we just thought it's kind of a tricky tone. It's very funny, but it's very quiet. I thought, we got to see it from everyone. Right. And I want to see if I have that connection with them. Right.
Starting point is 01:02:56 That is the interesting that some people are just big enough where they're like, I don't need to audition. I was going to ask, do you still audition for things? Absolutely. It's usually when, like, on Black Landsman, And I said, hey, I think I can play the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. Everyone on my team, I mean, people are supposed to help me get jobs. And people who were involved in the movie were like, oh, like, we don't see it.
Starting point is 01:03:23 And so it's on you. You know, it's like you have to come up with proof of concept to say like, yeah, I made a tape and then I met with Spike. And, you know, it's a, I just don't get why if you are going to then go do it, why can't you just show them. that. Yeah, it's a little bit of work, but like, it's like, no, I'll only reveal it to you. Yeah. Also, wouldn't you rather, it's like, you just skip to step two? Yeah. Do step one. Yeah. Know the script a little bit before you even sign on to something, right? Like see, well, you read the whole story. Don't they want to like you? Well, yeah, that's the thing. It's like, you know what it is, it's like dating in your 20s. My early 20s, I was like, maybe I can
Starting point is 01:04:03 fool this person in liking me even though I'm an idiot. And by, by, I'm saying actually my early 30s, I was like, you know what, this is who I am. And, you know, I had a lot of people be like, not for me. Thank you. But it only takes one, you know, and then, and you actually... It worked out. What's that? It worked out for you.
Starting point is 01:04:22 It worked out. But it's like, you know, it only takes one person. And also, you kind of don't want to be with someone who wouldn't want to be with you anyways. So who do you want to trick, you know? Exactly. That's a good comparison there. I never thought you would relate dating to reading scripts, auditioning.
Starting point is 01:04:38 My wife loves. loves when I make comparisons about romance to the business. Like, stop. You can curse on this, right? Yeah, yeah. Basically, shut the fuck out. Stop talking about our love.
Starting point is 01:04:52 Right. Like, honey, this is just like auditions for a while. I went through at work last week. I love when somebody finds out that you can curse on the show and they just let it out immediately. You're like, can curse on this?
Starting point is 01:05:04 Yeah. Fuck this. It just comes flying out. I had a question. but they laughed at me before you came in here I was like you know home economics is on ABC like see watch the Bachelor well I am married yeah yeah and uh my wife is very very in she's a card carrying member of Bachelor Nation and so I started with Juan Pablo that was I knew I knew I liked her yeah no she's really into it and and everyone starts with Juan Pablo have you
Starting point is 01:05:38 noticed that. That's the worst way to jump on. Yeah, really terrible. What was this thing he kept saying? It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.
Starting point is 01:05:46 She's like, I hate you. It's okay. It's okay. She's like, no, no, I'm saying I don't like you. It's like, I want to leave right now. It's okay. That guy. And I would do, you know, also when you're new to that show, you got to like get used
Starting point is 01:05:58 to how weird it is if there's like a good lead role to it. But it's like if that guy. Which is rare. But I was kind of making fun of it a lot. And then we watched another. sees it because then why I was like well I got to find out how Andy finds love after all that and then I was like I think my wife was going out of town oh no I was on location and I was like you're you're gonna watch that or like just if you're DVRing it then don't you don't have to watch
Starting point is 01:06:23 it like I just wait until I'm home on Thursday and she's like I thought you didn't like it I'm like well I just want to miss you know if I have to watch it with you and now when she's gone so I've already watched up to this point like I can't just not know what happens yeah and I something about it man it's like they got you with that show and they always take the person from the last season so you got to find out what do you guys think about clayton what you think he was just in the office actually last week what's the word big guy yeah just as we expected no he's sweet he's I think like he's a very sweet man who is totally like from missouri you know you actually sound like my wife yeah but I uh I think uh I wasn't on board until he's like
Starting point is 01:07:04 um what do you say to that girl he's like you're being fake and you're going home. I was like, whoa, like this guy is awesome. He said, I don't believe you. We had a little bit of a problem with this season because obviously we watch every season. We recap it all. We have like a show that we do right after the show ends.
Starting point is 01:07:22 We watch all together every week. This guy right here, this thing, the luggage guy. The silhouette of this man. Luggage guy, Trent. He works here and he... You know, you know when they take the luggage. What do you mean he works here? He works at Barcel Sports.
Starting point is 01:07:37 Until there's a season of the Bachelor. and they fly him out to take luggage. Well, it's a whole thing. He begged and begged to be the luggage guy. And finally, this was like a couple years ago. I think who's season was it? This is real. Peter's season.
Starting point is 01:07:49 Yes, this is real. Peter's season, he flew and he pulled the luggage. And it was like this big thing. It was like, oh my God, he became luggage guy Trent. So then he... There's always a very dramatic moment. Oh, that's the best one you. Like at the 2-1-1 and whoever gets sent home,
Starting point is 01:08:03 the girls all watch her suitcase get taken. And all he wanted was to be that guy. And so he finally. finally got it. Then he went back again this year and did it. He flew to Vienna, all the way to Vienna to pull the luggage. To wear a mask so no one could see who he was there. And then they cut his luggage ball. They cut it. Oh, I'm sorry. Like a shot to the heart. Yeah. Who was the two on one this year? Who was it? It wasn't even that. It was to put, but it was what do you think is Chenet? I just think anyone who's in these testimonials who's like, boom, I'm winning. They're all losers.
Starting point is 01:08:34 Like just, you know, I know they're all drunk basically. But like, just, you know, relax. on like pumping yourself up that other girl who was the victim then she became the bully within like three minutes yeah yeah they're good at that they're all they're all very good at that but but the editors are very good at it which is what's really going on yes yes are you most we like clayton he is very he is self-deprecating like he he can laugh at himself that's my impression just because I think you guys will appreciate it my impression of Clayton before I gained a lot of respect from when he was like kicked her out what is it they went to that therapy thing yeah yeah and she's like someone's being performative
Starting point is 01:09:08 And he's like, it's you. Get out. But before that, my impression, because I'm like kind of, my wife has to tell me to, I'm sure this is most husbands. But she's like, please shut up. Like, please. I really actually want to hear their reasons. And I'm like just making fun of the whole thing. But my impression of him was like, I've heard someone in the house is a bitch.
Starting point is 01:09:33 And someone said it was you. are you a bitch that's just exactly how he was the entire thing yeah and by the way first of all the girls
Starting point is 01:09:48 she'd say like no but they're all like okay I'm just taking a time and they're like no one's ever called me that before they don't say no either they just say like okay I'm just like my head's spinning right now
Starting point is 01:09:58 like I can't understand what's happening that's what he did when he asked Genevieve she was an actor he was like are you and that's where my impression started Are you an actress? She's like, okay, I just like need a second. Just say no, because he'll believe you.
Starting point is 01:10:12 Like, if you're just saying, I'm not an actress, he'd be like, cool, just had to check the end. Oh my gosh. So funny. Company man, ABC. So now you're in it. By the way, I was sitting there way before. We did a promo. Do you ever see a promo for a season one?
Starting point is 01:10:25 Yes. Yes. Yes. And that came from literally me and my wife were sitting around. Like, wouldn't that be funny? I'm like, let's do it. Yeah. It was very funny because I remember watching obviously, like,
Starting point is 01:10:37 We watch live, so we watch all the commercials. So when we saw, we're like, that was a really good promo. Yeah, that was a really good promo. We have a movie in like a month. And we shot, breaking news. We just shot, we shot one at Shark Tank. It was great. Oh, that's awesome.
Starting point is 01:10:53 It's really cool. We're like pitching them to be a guest star. That is really cool. It's really funny. So you are, season two is on air. It's airing right now. What is the reaction from a cast? Because, you know, sitcoms, they,
Starting point is 01:11:07 some thrive, some don't, a lock at one season, and then you never hear from them again. When you got greenlit for that second season, how'd you feel? I rarely smoke cigars, but I took a $1,000 bill,
Starting point is 01:11:23 which I did you make. Lit it on fire. How do you get one of those? That cigar with the $1,000 bill. In retrospect, it was not worth it. No, no. It felt great. I mean, the truth is I really
Starting point is 01:11:36 think when you're doing one of these it's my wife's going to kill me again it is like a marriage it's like you're spending a lot of time with not just the cast which is great but also these incredible writers and and our crew is great and we had a
Starting point is 01:11:52 it started after COVID so after you know the whole thing we've never there are people on our set we've never seen the bottom half of their face but there was a such a feeling of gratefulness and of like gratitude just like to be to know that ABC was paying for us to be able to do that during that time
Starting point is 01:12:16 and for it to be a show about a family and then you have this feeling these are the only people you're seeing and it is does have that family feel and so it was more of kind of like you know I feel this way about this show and then when you get renewed you oh good other people feel this way and it's just so it's so fun that show is so much fun like those Every actor is, I'm sitting there, I'm like, she, like, knocks it. Yeah. He, you know, passes it to him and he knocks it in. It's just great. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:43 Now, obviously, you know what it's like to be on a show for an extended period of time many years. You have a cap now on, like, how long you want to go for shows? I can't do that again. The answer is yes. I mean, I like doing it. And also, yeah, you know, I think also it's, I got a little heat for this on, 70 show because I left before the show ended but I kind of you know when it starts to whatever you know it's kind of on the actors because yeah the studio the network they'll make it forever and you were in that
Starting point is 01:13:15 just like age of really that's when you were growing up yeah but yeah it was about me but it was also like I just thought man I want this thing to I want to be on it while it's good eventually Michael Scott had to leave the office yeah you know yeah you know I think yeah what happens is it winds up going a little bit of time after that and then not but but i marissa cooper left the oh see yeah yeah she really left to the body back yeah yeah yeah but i think at the time people might have thought i had some kind of design i just like really i just wanted to to you know you look at these shows they will just go like eight or nine years past the if they're working and i think it's kind of up to the actors at some point to say like this is you know we told the story you know what i mean it's it's not to keep
Starting point is 01:14:01 talking about ABC shows, but like Gray's Anatomy is on like their 20 millionth season. We still got questions about what's going on in that hospital. I know. Believe me, I still watch every single episode. The number one question is like, they're going to do an HR thing about how many people are fucking hospital. Everybody. Like it's a little bit like relax on the couple of a couple of things. They really normalize it on that show.
Starting point is 01:14:25 So now like you're on that 70s show and now you're at the point where your show is kind of getting remade sort of not remade but now they're going to do a spin-off they're going to do the 90s show and it feels like we're seeing a lot of shows that are like that now
Starting point is 01:14:44 how do you feel about seeing something like that being made well my great friends Kurt Wood Smith and Debrageal Rupp who played my parents are I shouldn't even say friends I mean they really kind of were like parents my other parents
Starting point is 01:14:58 yeah my other man he was giving me like shaving tips on set and like one time this is after the show wrapped we went out for lunch for like a brunch just me and him and it's just they're such wonderful people and they're there on that show with a group of kids but uh on that at that brunch people were going like nuts seeing us together and I was like oh this is nice I didn't really anticipate you know whatever and then we realized it was Father's Day I felt so I was like oh we're not call you a dad
Starting point is 01:15:31 I didn't go out with my own father that day. It was crazy. But no, I love them and I think that's going to do great. I mean, they're great. But with that 70 show, I feel like it's one of those things, right, gets brought up in the interview, and then the person interviewing says, this must get tiring to talk about.
Starting point is 01:15:48 Do you get that every single time? That's Rea's way of asking the question. But also preising the fact. Yeah, exactly. That's her go-to. Excellent. Thank you. I, no.
Starting point is 01:16:00 The answer is, I think, if you're really if you loved your time there and you love what it became and those shows have an interesting life where they are one thing when they're on and then they're another thing to another generation because they're around for so long yeah and so i actually even after i left i was like really enjoying people's reaction and no i'm so proud of it it's a lot of work you know yeah and you know what's crazy uh this might be too weird of a thing to talk about on this podcast. But if you watch Friends, let me apply it to a different show.
Starting point is 01:16:35 Not your marriage. Now hear me out. It's very much like, yeah, like my wife. No, Friends Season 1, which I watched live. Like, I was just whatever the age was that I watched the pilot when it came on.
Starting point is 01:16:53 I was like, oh, this is good. And like towards the end, I was like, a monkey on the show. Like, this show's so funny. I was telling my friends, and it really, it wasn't really a thing. until that summer it was in reruns this is much older than you guys but i remember thinking that hit me right at the right time and i was the one when the rembrand song would come on like this is that show like and it really caught fire and then by the time it started season two it was a big hit but if you watch some of the episodes in season one they're not in the time they weren't that great
Starting point is 01:17:20 and we certainly had a ton of this like the first two or three years because a lot of us never acted before including myself like we didn't really know what we're doing but like like like Joey, I thought, was a really undeveloped character on that show. But I love Joey so much as the 10 years went on. And I love, you know, Matt LeBlanc when he did with that character, that if you go back and watch that rerun, then I remember not liking or thinking he wasn't good at that time. I now love him that character so much because it's like this,
Starting point is 01:17:52 it's like retconning your like for character. And I know that like with Fez on our show, we hadn't figured out what he was. He only said one or two lines. But you go back and you watch it and you go, oh, he's just not saying all of this stuff that at the time we didn't know. So it's this really interesting
Starting point is 01:18:10 happens with sitcoms where, because they run so much in different orders that I think people like it, like the first 12 episodes of The Office or something or Parks and Rec had that. You know what I mean? And then now you go back and look at it. You go, oh, that's so hilarious.
Starting point is 01:18:24 It's Michael Scott. Right. They always find their place. Schitts Creek, too. Shits Creek, or. like 30 Rock is the same kind of thing. They're like, oh, season one had some moments where it was like, oh, I didn't, I wasn't, wasn't quite sure what they were selling.
Starting point is 01:18:38 But it's usually the actors are the creators who are saying it. Yeah. Because everyone's like, I love every minute of friends. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, I remember watching the one where they clean out the dead guys, you know, and I was like, this is, let's get back to the Ross and Rachel thing. Yeah, yeah. And they kind of figure out the show.
Starting point is 01:18:53 Also, when you watch the shows when you're really young and then you go back and rewatch them when you're older, like for me with that 70's show, I would watch it like when I'd come home from school at like 3 o'clock I'd be on TV and my dad would be sitting on the couch watching it and I would watch with him and then like, yeah, yeah, it was great. And then, but then as like the years went on and we did the same thing year after year, I was like, oh, they're smoking weed. Like I had.
Starting point is 01:19:17 How old were you when you were? Like really, I mean, the show came out in 1998 and I was born in 1997. So it's like. Love hearing that. Nothing better than someone's saying. I grew up on that show. Come on. If you want to walk out now.
Starting point is 01:19:30 Yeah, that's appropriate. I was over. But I was like, oh, cool. They're smoking. All right, I got it now. Yeah, it all makes sense. Yeah, the brilliant thing about that show is the creators. I think actually the studio, is it an independent studio, which they don't have anymore.
Starting point is 01:19:46 This is actually the last independent TV studio called Carsey Warner. They did a lot of great shows. They had this idea of like it's two shows. So when it's on at three, it's all about like Eric upstairs with a lot of, parents and when it's on at like 11 at night it's like downstairs rock and roll but it can be both because that was really smart yeah yeah so she said you know you probably get asked about that all the time how often do you get asked about when a date with tad hamilton all right not as much as i should not as much as you should that's what i'm saying why wasn't that nominated for an academy award
Starting point is 01:20:20 i don't know i don't know either um is this fran's favorite thing to do all time favorites i'm sorry i'm do this to you. It's one of my all-time favorites. To you ladies, but I need to know your ages right now. I'm 27. 24. Okay. My wife is 33, and she'd never watched that 70 show. I met her at a charity event. But she watched one date with Tad Hamilton. And here's the thing. I was, so she's 10 years younger than me.
Starting point is 01:20:46 I was like 23 when I made that movie. I was like, cute movie. She was like 13 when it came out. And she, like, thinks it is. one of the great, like still to this day. No, I, yeah. I walked in on her watching it and I'm like, what do you do? I'm not really bad.
Starting point is 01:21:01 This film is an idea. I don't think I'm not good at it. And she's like, no, this is like your best performance. But I'm very, this is getting a little creepy. I'm very grateful for this, for that movie because that's why, you know, like kind of, she's from like middle America.
Starting point is 01:21:15 Yeah. And had a big effect on her, I guess. Yeah. And on you too. I'm sorry. Take in. Take in. Okay.
Starting point is 01:21:23 Calm down, Fran. Yeah. Relax. I thought that movie was, I always thought that movie was so cute. It's a good comfort movie. Like when you just want... It is a pure comfort.
Starting point is 01:21:33 It was, even when we were making it, I think... When you just want, like, a good rom-com of, like, friends falling in love? It was a throwback to... Our favorite genre. Yeah, it is. It is my favorite.
Starting point is 01:21:41 It is my favorite. The guy who, like... No, look at me. Yeah. Don't look at the guy who... Don't look at Josh Jamel. Even I would want to be with him. But at the end of it, I remember them kind of talking about
Starting point is 01:21:53 when they were developing it, it was like, going to be it's kind of a throwback to like 60s movies you know like those kind of rock hudson doris day like very there was like there was no edges no edges no it was great but i was the edgiest part yeah yeah yeah you kind of were kind of were that is very funny um but we have to wrap up because i'm i don't know if you're doing other do you doing other shows oh yeah they said do you want to warm up on one and i was like yeah yeah yeah show me in one that i don't care about and yeah yeah yeah this one really doesn't matter at all and go with the you know the real
Starting point is 01:22:25 Feel good. Well, this is good. I feel ready to go. Yeah, good. You'll be really prepared for the next one. Home Economics is on Wednesdays on ABC at 930 p.m. Tofer, thank you for joining us. Thank you for not walking out.
Starting point is 01:22:40 Well, I will now. This interview's over. All right, that wraps up today's episode of Chicks in the Office. We love you guys. We hope you have a great weekend. We'll be back on Monday. And by the way, I never gave my take on The Bachelor, so I'll do that really fast.
Starting point is 01:22:54 I see both sides of the issue. I think that Susie probably should have told Clayton, and I think that Clayton was pretty aggressive after Susie told him what she thought. Those are my thoughts on The Bachelor, and we'll talk to you on Monday. I'm glad because apparently there was a girl in the YouTube chat on Cutting Stems who was like,
Starting point is 01:23:12 where's Rio? Like she would side with Clayton. You got to have sex in the fantasy swifts. God, people just think I'm a foreign dog. No, I see both sides to the, to the argument. I really do. I think that the way he talked to Susie was kind of just pretty aggressive. It was just, it was dickish. It was so hard. Yeah, it was, it was, it was, it was like, you can't really, you can't just sit there and kind of understand where she's coming from.
Starting point is 01:23:37 And then for Susie, it was like, eh, you, you know, the show you were going on. So maybe you should have told him that. Yeah. Although, if he thought you were the one, maybe he shouldn't have done that. So that's why I see both sides. Yep. Yep. Absolutely. All right. We'll be back. Love you guys. Love you guys.
