Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners. You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad free on Amazon Music. What's up, everyone? It's Chicks in the Office with Ria and Fran, giving you that Friday energy on a Wednesday. Happy Wednesday, everybody. Your dreams have come true because today is the first time. Is this the first time it has to be the first time?
Starting point is 00:00:30 No, no. We've definitely done this before. Of just a Fran and Noah episode. Today is just a Fran and Noah episode. Well, Ria is, we're going to, for dancing the stars. I think still the majority of the episode will be. Olive Shush. Reha.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Well, we'll have Dancing with the Stars. Yeah. I know, I feel like we've definitely done this before. Maybe not. I don't think we have. We're already arguing and we just started. I can't remember it in recent memory at least. I really don't.
Starting point is 00:01:00 I really don't think we have. Ria is still pretty down bad, I will say, post fall and getting home and everything that happened last week. She basically went to go see somebody and they were like, you are, your body is just incredibly swollen. So she is managing through that. And then I have jury duty on what, like Wednesday. So we were, we were just a lot of back and forth with trying to figure out the right schedule. because neither of us want to miss Dancing with Stars, which we didn't because we are going to be on Zoom
Starting point is 00:01:34 right after the episode to recap everything that happened on Tuesday's episode of Dancing with the Stars, Super Bowl halftime night. And then I'll be a jury duty, and I really hope that I, I really hope that I get out of this quick. You might be there all day because it's just luck of the draw,
Starting point is 00:01:56 like whether you get called or not, but I feel like if you don't, you either get called, early and hope that you don't get picked or you wait all day or you just sit around all day and they don't have anything for you. But the worst case scenario is what happened to me, whereas you wait all day and then literally with like 10 minutes ago, you get called to. And then they say come back tomorrow because we don't have time.
Starting point is 00:02:18 And then you come back tomorrow and then they put you on a case. Oh, that would be bad. I really hope that doesn't happen. Although the thing with this is so even if our tour is starting in two weeks, which is I think what happened with me last year, it's the easiest, like, you're not going to, you just be like, I'm not going to be in New York for work. Right, right, right, right. That is true. That is true. Hopefully it just, hopefully, I'm just in and out. The last time I went, I had jury duty maybe, gosh, I mean, it was a really long time ago, but I was working here. But it was maybe like
Starting point is 00:02:50 seven, eight years ago. There's enough people in this world that getting called twice in like Less than 10 years is crazy. Yeah, yeah. Twice and definitely less than 10 years. And there are people who are like 60 who were like, I've never been. Never gotten called. This is my second time. The first time was a situation where I went and sat all day long. Like I just sat there all day.
Starting point is 00:03:10 They didn't have anything. And then at like 4 or 35 o'clock, they were like, okay, everybody can go. Which. It's so miserable. Would be best case scenario for me. It's also the barstool up front's Wednesday night, which we are, going to be attending and there is
Starting point is 00:03:30 certain programming that's happening through the night that I am involved in and I was like oh my God if this goes all the way to the end of the day like I have to show up I have to show up basically in full glam I have to show up in full makeup for all day to sit there
Starting point is 00:03:49 because it worst case if I am there and cannot get out until late, I have to go straight to the up fronts and be like on stage and present. What time do those start? That's, I'm supposed to be there by like six. Oh, that's early. Yeah, yeah. Because jury duty would be like five.
Starting point is 00:04:10 No, I know. Yeah. So it's just a, it's just a problem, a real problem. Maybe you just go in and say, hey, I have the up fronts tonight. Those people are so angry all the time, though, like, from my experience. like if you if you if you say anything to like the front desk people then they will snap at you yeah yeah you're like hey like do you think i could get there like sit back down well imagine all this shit that they deal with all day like i can't even imagine the people that go in there
Starting point is 00:04:39 and and what it's like the dmv and what they say to try and like get to go home or leave yeah people probably come up with the craziest shit my things everyone always says oh all you have to do is say you don't want to be there i don't think that i think that's like a myth I've never tried it. Yeah, but no one wants to be there. Yeah. Yeah, I don't think you can just go in and say, I don't want to be here.
Starting point is 00:05:02 And then they say, okay, bye. Yeah. But it's like, I don't know. If that was the case, why can I just say that when they email me the thing? Right, right, right. It's like, I don't want to do this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Yeah, meanwhile, when you get sent, the notice is like, you must show up. Yeah, they always say that. You absolutely, yeah, yeah. And I would be way to afraid to ever test. So and I postponed it already. Like I got, I got this notice six months ago. Like, and I moved it.
Starting point is 00:05:31 Yeah, that's like, anyone can do that. Yeah, yeah, I moved it to the farthest. This was like the last day that I could move. They tried to get me for my whole life leading up to when I did. I had my doctor write me a note for anxiety, got me out of it. And then I tried to have him write me another one. And he was like, I'm not writing you another note. He said, no one wants to go to Jerry.
Starting point is 00:05:53 you just go. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right, right. It's just like something that everybody has to. Not everybody, because some people never get picked. Unlike me, now I got to go again. I wonder if it's because we live in, like, is it, you have a higher, I mean, that wouldn't be the case.
Starting point is 00:06:08 I said we, like, live in Manhattan. Do we have a higher chance than, like, but I guess it's a good question. But also there's more people in Manhattan. But there's more people in Manhattan. No, but there's just a lot of cases. Yeah, that's true. Like the court's just very, the court's very busy here, I would think. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:23 You know? What would you do? Like if, if, imagine you got put on the case and you didn't have a good excuse. Or they just didn't care about your excuse? I mean, then you're, then you're doing jury duty. Yeah. I think that's, I think that's how that goes. I think then that's how you become a member of the jury.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Yeah. That is the whole point. That is the whole process. Just had a devastating nail break. I found a nail on the floor here yesterday. Oh, gross. It was a red nail. A long.
Starting point is 00:06:52 long nail? Sarah? Sarah, are you picking your nails off back here? The press on there. Oh. And I am looking at your hand right now and you are missing a lot of nails. You guys can't see Sarah,
Starting point is 00:07:09 but Sarah has about four nails left on and the rest are all off. So that, I mean, mystery solved. No, it was Sarah's nail. It was next to her death, so I could have been. Do you like to take a sip of water? I don't even know if it's the water. I think by sure.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Would you like to clear your throat? You haven't acknowledged my new decor. Oh my, I forgot. It's actually kind of hard for me to see from my seat. Because you sort of block it, but I'm sure on camera everybody can see it. I'm sorry, I'm absolutely, I have a problem where like once a nail breaks,
Starting point is 00:07:45 it's just absolutely devastating. And it's the only thing I can think of. And this just split down the, like, the middle of my nail, which is a disaster. Oh my, what am I going to do about this? Okay, this is a problem for a later time. Please tell me everything that's on your wall. Well, actually, most of it is from fans, like at live shows and stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:08 This John Mayer Candle, a nice fan gave me. Thank God he's allowed to be back up. Yeah, this Best Producer Award a fan gave me. We got the Andy Richter Notepad that someone gave me at a show. I got to get you some, we got to get you some, Guillermo merch. Yeah. Love Island's season six guest pass was my name.
Starting point is 00:08:29 I thought that was cool to put up there. We got, you know, my birthday. This one is actually funny. I thought this is my pass for Victoria's Secret in 2018. Wow. Look at your face. I know, just my face next to that model. Who is it?
Starting point is 00:08:48 Can I see? I don't know. I can't see it that far given to throw. That is... Oh, oh, what's her name? Hold on, I'll find it in two seconds. Romy, I think. I have all the friendship bracelets.
Starting point is 00:09:05 So many up here, you can't see, but that people have hit me. And then this Lilo is from Singapore. One of those... What were those called? Yeah, you're on here with Romy. Oh, Romy. Yeah. I think you interviewed...
Starting point is 00:09:16 Did you interview her when we were there? I don't know. We talked to a lot of people when we were there. Yeah. I'll just... Should I just leave this right here? Yeah. What else you got?
Starting point is 00:09:26 I know. I said these are all the friendship. You can't see him probably on the shelf. Oh, French, your bracelets. It's like just accumulated over a live show. Yeah. And then the Lilo that I just actually broke its leg off and I dropped it. But that's from Singapore.
Starting point is 00:09:37 What was it called? Remember? Oh, the little like blind boxes? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where we just kept going, we kept going back to the store. Use up all my money before the cash. And we kept going back to the store to just do more like blind box opening. of different things
Starting point is 00:09:54 because that's really when the Labibu craze was... Yeah, that kind of ended. Taken over. Yeah. But it was like, we were kind of on the tail end,
Starting point is 00:10:05 but then there was other ones that you could get. I'm sure that over there, it's still like... Yeah, there was just other types of like dolls and things that you can open, which you can
Starting point is 00:10:13 where there's lots of other options and that's what everybody was figuring out. What's the big chain? Where did that come from? That's when we did my dance me, Marty, and Ria and she gave me that like custom chain
Starting point is 00:10:28 Capizio and Is that your zip code? No, that's my birthday. 101595 on the end. For some reason, because there's just where I am I could only see five. I thought it was five digits.
Starting point is 00:10:42 I was like, is that your area goes? And this of course. Someone gave me my achievement award for completing my 30 before 30 list plaque. Pretty impressive pretty impressive gifts you've been given. I know, I was like, these are pretty good. I'm like, how did they get, like, the vector file for this logo?
Starting point is 00:11:00 That and just, I mean, everything really has been pretty well done. My one thing that I stole from Miss Piggy, a feather. Well, it fell off the floor. They were feathers all over the floor, so I took one. And you've saved that? Yeah. I mean, yeah, saved it. Sorry, that is.
Starting point is 00:11:19 A little weird, but. Wait, it's just, it's just a loose feather. We need to, like, put it in something. I know. Well, it's right there. Yeah, it needs to be, it needs to be framed in the bottom. It says, like, from Miss Piggy's coat or something. Because just a loose feather, it's going to fly away.
Starting point is 00:11:36 It's been on my, it's been on this table all year and it hasn't gone anywhere. What if there's a little breeze that goes through? I guess. Also, I said that I guarantee you at some point, I'm going to forget that these shelves here because I don't really have a lot of room back here and I'm going to knock them both off the wall. That will definitely happen. one point. You don't think they're that's secured in there?
Starting point is 00:11:56 I don't know. We'll find out. But can you pull up your face on here so I can see? Oh my face. Oh yeah. I guess I could. I want to see what you're oh, that looks nice. Now I can see the whole view.
Starting point is 00:12:11 Because for my angle I can't see. You place yourself perfectly in the center. Yeah. There you go. It's like Noah's corner. Maybe we just need a little. Maybe you need a little that says no's corner. The John Mayer is nice. Yeah, I mean, you really have a good view of everything that's on there.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Yeah, and we got the Kate Hudson. I did think it was kind of funny to have Kate Hudson be the only thing behind me. Yeah. But, you know, she's still there. Yeah, without context, though, it could, you know. Oh, any guests you came in here, they'd probably be like, why is that just on the wall over there? Right, right. For the sake of keeping guests feeling like this is a safe and normal.
Starting point is 00:12:51 environment. That was a good icebreaker for guests when we came in with the 30 before 30 thing on the wall because they'd all be like, what is that? Yeah, and there was a while you had a giant EpiPen. I still have that over here. Behind you as well. Olive is being extra needy
Starting point is 00:13:08 right now where she wants to sit. I think Olive's is not like the new studio set up, I will say, just because you can't sit on you. Look, everybody was worried that the chair wasn't going to be conducive to her sitting on my lap. And they're correct. It's not.
Starting point is 00:13:23 And she does want to be sitting on someone's lap at all times. If we have like another chair next to you Would Olive sit in the chair or no? Maybe. She likes to be at a certain height. That would be funny if she was just at the level of the table.
Starting point is 00:13:39 She just sat. Yeah, right, right, right. Now she's fine though. She's got this beautiful bed that she likes. She's just, she's just a needy girl you know I missed her birthday
Starting point is 00:13:53 when we were in Vegas no no I knew I knew it was her birthday we were just in Vegas October 3rd so it did Joe and Olive She's three years old Yeah yeah she had a big day
Starting point is 00:14:06 My friends took her out They went to the bar The big birthday celebration That's 21 Yeah Yeah yeah yeah Yep It was a beautiful day here
Starting point is 00:14:16 They took her down Like the West Side Highway took her to the bar with a couple of my friends in their dog as well. And I had a beautiful time. But we have some topics we're going to get into. We have our Dance With the Stars recap. We also have the Pop Corner. So we can just jump right into the topics.
Starting point is 00:14:40 I believe most, I mean, there's going to be a lot of Dancing with Stars. We're recording this right now before the episode has even aired. So I'm hoping it's a good one. shall see. So we're going to get right into our Dancing with the Stars recap from Tuesday night. We are on Zoom. So it is all three of us to recap the show. And then we'll get some topics and do a little voicemails, little pop corner. And that will be today's episode. So let's get right into Dancing with the Stars. All right, it's time to get into Dancing with the Stars. And before we do that, we got to tell you guys, I know we're all involved and we all have an idea on who we want to win,

We are exactly 15 minutes past 10 p.m. Eastern Time. So we just finished up the episode. Noah, how are you feeling? Because my goodness gracious, you were like throwing a hissy fit in the chat about Guillermo tonight.
Starting point is 00:16:52 Oh, what is happening? Team Guillermo. Team Guillermo. We're winners in our hearts. Winners in our hearts. And I'm going to go buy salsa right after this. But you know what's so funny is that when you started, Fran was like, what are you cold in your apartment?
Starting point is 00:17:11 And no, I was like, yeah, it's really cold in my apartment. Like, why does he have his jacket zipped up like that? I did want to have to whip this out as early as this week. I thought I could have done it in person at the very earliest next week. I thought we had time. But sadly, not, sadly not. Sadly, it was his time.
Starting point is 00:17:29 Did you know he had that? No, I had no idea. I've had this for like two weeks now. I had no idea that this was happening. And you know what? You didn't make the mistake with Andy. You bought all your merch too late. And well, honestly, I took mine out after Andy lost the night after Andy lost too.
Starting point is 00:17:50 So it just worked out. But this time I didn't make the mistake. I was like scrumaging through my closet being like, I need to find something with a zipper because I am not doing what I did last time and like flashing you guys. And I'm pretty sure it was over Zoom last time too. No, no, it was in the L.A.
Starting point is 00:18:10 It was in the hotel. It was in the hotel. It was in the hotel. We were like, what are you doing? Yes, because I knew it wasn't in our studio. He just stood up and took his shirt off. And we were like, what is happening? It was extremely uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:18:21 Well, that's what I did this time, but it wasn't as weird because of this. zipper. I could do it quickly. Yeah, this was less weird. It was much more of a jacket, which I really, like, I was like, how cold is it? It was a not that cold today. Honestly, though, because, like, I don't think it's a secret that you guys were rooting for Tyler over Guillermo. I thought you guys were ahead of me and I saw a text pop up from Ria being like, in all caps, no. And I was like, we did it. Like, we survived. So, and then Guillermo got voted off. And you were just saying no to him being in the bottom two, I guess. No, I was saying, that was Fran's text.
Starting point is 00:18:54 who wrote no on capital letters. That was actually when Jackson got saved. Oh. Like, when Jackson got saved, I was like, oh, I just felt like that might have been bad news for Tyler. Yeah, I genuinely thought when it got down to the bottom two that it might have been Tyler's time. And really wanted Tyler to get to dedication night. So I just was like about to cry. But also, I just didn't think there was any way, gear.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Geremo was going home. I'm not going to lie. I really didn't. I thought Giermo had more time. I didn't. I, okay, obviously I wanted Tyler to stay over Giermo. But I didn't want Giermo to go. And you know what?
Starting point is 00:19:37 Sue me. But in this situation, obviously between the two of them, I wanted Giermo to go over Tyler. Yeah, it felt like after Jackson's name was called pretty early, I was like, oh, this is going to come down. to come down to Giermo and he's fantastic I will say this was the first time
Starting point is 00:19:57 it felt also like in my DMs posting that when I was like love Garema I said like love Germo but it's his time it was a overwhelming amount of people agreeing with me it was either people agree with me
Starting point is 00:20:14 or they were like no Jackson first than him so so I will say yeah people were point where it felt like the masses were like, this was a lot of fun. We had fun with this. You know, there's not much more we can do here. And we love you, Guillermo.
Starting point is 00:20:32 We watch you sail off in the sunset. And Whitney is also just absolutely amazing and very pregnant. And this was the right time. This was an appropriate time for Guillermo to go for sure. And I think that I actually was being hypnotized by Whitney. Yeah. Like tonight watching them dance,
Starting point is 00:20:50 I was like, oh my God, I think I'm turned on by Giermo, but I really think I was just Whitney being so good and hot while being so pregnant. Like I'm just, I was just so impressed. But yeah, I think this was an appropriate time for him to go. And I honestly think if you were to ask Geremo, he would say this was his time for him to leave. I think Giermo was really tired.
Starting point is 00:21:15 I think Giermo obviously would have loved to keep going. But at the same time, like I think he was, like this has been already exceeded all of his expectations. Like I feel like he's like, I'm so happy to be where he is. And he's going out on top. Like no matter what he's going out absolutely beloved and he's going to stay that way. Because I think if he stayed a couple more weeks, that's when people start to turn on you. And then that could have been bad.
Starting point is 00:21:46 It's like if he stayed a few more weeks, the people who love Guillermo, but also love the show could have gotten frustrated being like, oh, you know, so great dancers are going home over Guillermo. It was really the perfect time for Guillermo to keep all of his fans and just bow out gracefully.
Starting point is 00:22:04 I totally agree and I feel like we got, what are we on now? Week five? Yeah, week five. I feel like we got five solid dances out of him that we can rewatch time and time again and get a kick out of and appreciate how much effort he put in.
Starting point is 00:22:17 I really did feel like he put in effort tonight too. Totally. When he was doing this to the crowd, I was fired up. Right, but that's not dancing. He's not dancing. I don't care. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Okay, haven't made that clear? No, you've made it abundantly clear. We got it. But he, uh, when he was like moving his hips a little bit, I'm like, okay, he's gotten some movement in his hips. He's trying. There was definitely a improvement week, week after week. But this was the time and especially when it came down to Geremo and Tyler,
Starting point is 00:22:45 absolutely Geremo had to go. I feel like Tyler had a good. dance tonight wasn't my absolute favorite of Tyler's. I think last week I thought was Tyler's best, but this was really fun and it's a jazz which allows more movement and freedom and fun in the style of dance. I think we can go through the dances of the night. I think that this theme better than the last two weeks. Totally. Totally. I thought all the dances were way more fun, way more high energy, music we all know and love. And just to start it off, I mean, before we go through every dance,
Starting point is 00:23:23 Joe Buck was the guest judge. I thought he did a great job. He just, he played the role perfectly. He said, I know nothing about dance. I'm going to do what everyone tells me to do around me. I think he looked up, like, I think he looked at Derek scores, Bruno scores, and went, I'll just add one for funsies. Like I'll just be, I'll just be in front of everybody else to be like,
Starting point is 00:23:43 so everyone loves me a little bit more. I'll give them one score higher. Yeah. And then he just said, something like really genuine and nice about each couple after they danced. He was the fun substitute teacher. Like, yeah, I come in and I give everyone a little extra points, a little higher grade, and everyone loves me.
Starting point is 00:23:59 And you know what? That's what you got to do as a guest judge. You can't just be like a stickler when you're Joe Buck and you commentate football. You can't come in and act like you know everything about ballroom dancing. But I felt like his feedback was good. I feel like a lot of people were honored to be commentated by Joe. Yeah. We started off with Mora and Mark with a tango.
Starting point is 00:24:18 I felt like this was underwhelming. Compared to her past dances, I was not blown away by this one. That was just me. They're still great. The thing is like they are great, but I felt pretty underwhelmed by this. Yeah, there are beautiful dances
Starting point is 00:24:36 and she's a beautiful dancer. I think we're just kind of seeing a lot of the same, which is why it's kind of giving us like a little bit of this, of maybe that underwhelmed feeling because we have been seeing a lot of dances with her in frame and she's so good at that.
Starting point is 00:24:53 We know that. So I'm excited to see a different style of dance. Like I'd love to see her doing a jive. Like I'd love to see her doing something upbeat, fun that's maybe more individual and not just partner-based because her and Mark are such good partners. And I think he knows how to highlight her strength so well,
Starting point is 00:25:12 especially when they're in hold because she has such a gorgeous, gorgeous posture, all of these things. So when we get to see something different, I think that'll be great. It just feels like we're getting a little bit of the same stuff. However, it is at such a high level. Like, that's what's, they are so good
Starting point is 00:25:27 that it stays being so good. But it just feels like we're, it's not something new and different yet. I agree. Moving on to Jackson and Emma, the most predictable thing of all time was that his song was Uptown Funk. Like, you actually, you gave me every guess.
Starting point is 00:25:47 My first guess would have been their dancing to Uptown Funk. Uptown Funk is a fun song. This is actually one of my favorite Super Bowl performances of all time was Bruno Mars and Beyonce together. It's such a fun one. 2016, I believe this one was, right? I could not tell you. When Beyonce and Bruno Mars did their little battle together,
Starting point is 00:26:08 ooh, I go back and watch that time and time again. This was a fun. It's always a fun dance. That was 2014. Oh, sorry, 2014. 2014, even longer. The uptown, they said, I thought they said this was 2016, Bruno Mars, though. I think Brno Mars has done it multiple times, so.
Starting point is 00:26:25 I think Bruno Mars has popped out during multiple Super Bowl halftime shows. Oh, you know what? He came out in 2016 when Coldplay was. Yeah, Coldplay with Beyonce and Bruno Mars. So he's headlined 2014. He came out of 2016. But in 2016, it was Coldplay, Bruno Mars and Beyonce. This is a fun dance.
Starting point is 00:26:43 It's always like this is just what we're getting week to week with Jackson, I feel like. Definitely. With him going early and getting eights, I just felt like the scoring disparity for the rest of the night was crazy to me. Because I was like if Jackson is getting eights, like if Carian is giving Jackson an eight and Conner's getting a six, I just was. And also Amber got an eight like back. Carrie and giving Amber and Jackson the same score was astonishing to me because I just felt like Amber was so incredible. And it's fine.
Starting point is 00:27:19 If you're going to give out, if you're going to give out eights at that level, okay, fine. Then that is the bar you have set for eights. Everybody else that is similar better be close to that. And Amber should be way above that then. And Amber went right after. Yes. So going right after and getting the same score,
Starting point is 00:27:38 you see how different the dance was. Yeah, exactly. And Jackson is getting better. And I can see that and the performance quality is there and it's entertaining. But, you know, he's just not, he's just not a cup of tea. And that's okay. It's nothing personal.
Starting point is 00:27:57 It's just how he feel. I agree. And I think we're allowed to feel that way. And I had some people message me like, we got Jackson's vulnerable side tonight. I said, where, where, talking about losing the banana bowl? last week. Like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:11 I texted you guys and I said they lost the banana that we, we miss that part in our Banana Bowl recap. We missed the fact that they lost. Savannah bananas are always losing. I don't think they're a winning team. But I don't know about vulnerable talking about losing the banana bowl that's like broadcasting on Disney. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:28:31 I don't know. But if people are buying it and they want to buy into the bananas and Jackson, that's fine. You're right. He's just not our cup of tea. We're not sipping on it. We're not, you know. It is what it is. No.
Starting point is 00:28:46 After, so we move on to Amber. Yeah. Oh, who is just so damn good. Wow. And you know what? So good. Does it, it's like, does you just feel a little tingle inside when you see those pants come out?
Starting point is 00:28:59 Oh, yeah. When I see those ladies shake their hips in those pants and I'll, you know, I'll throw Connor in the mix too. You put those pants on. And when you put those pants on, I go, truly that I think is the one, like maybe one of the biggest reasons I would ever want to be on this show
Starting point is 00:29:17 is so that I could dance in those pants. And like, you just look better dancing in those pants. Baby, we can get you a pair of those pants anytime you want. I know, seriously, should be my Halloween costume? I think you should. I think we should just all be in those pants for Halloween. Shit. Noah, are you ready for it?
Starting point is 00:29:34 Noah's got to wear him too. Come on. I was going to say honestly, that's being. Guillermo would be kind of a good Halloween costume. We should all be our favorite dancers from the season. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that would be crazy. But Amber is so strong, such an amazing dancer.
Starting point is 00:29:51 When she hit that split. Oh, on the beat too. Yeah, it was spectacular. Absolutely chills. To be honest, I think that because there were some dances that got all nines this evening and I think she should have gotten all nines. I agree with you. So Tyler and Sharna went next.
Starting point is 00:30:10 They did a jazz. Yep. I thought that this was a fun dance. I agree with what they're saying, though. Tyler is a big guy. So getting him to move is a little bit harder. And you can tell that he needs to, like, loosen it up just a bit. I feel like he's getting there.
Starting point is 00:30:28 I thought last week we saw it more than this week. But I thought that this was a really fun dance. Yeah, it's just a lot of weight to throw around. It is, yeah. Carrihan acknowledged how great. he is at the lifts, which is technically so hard. I know that it's something that people kind of overlook because he is strong.
Starting point is 00:30:46 So it just seems like effortless. But it's really, he makes it look effortless because it could be really so, so difficult. And like the way, like Carrie Ann said, the way he gracefully takes her out of the lifts and all those things is really good. And what an amazing song. That's just a fun.
Starting point is 00:31:06 I mean, we love black eyed peas on this podcast. So anytime you throw a Black I'd be song in the mix, we're going to eat it up. Dirty bit. Yeah, that's a good one. But yeah, I did enjoy Carrie Ann complimenting the lifts in this dance because she is particular about her lifts and she's very adamant that lifts belong in certain dances. This one, she said, lifts do belong. And so she will give credit to how good the lifts are.
Starting point is 00:31:31 I thought it was really fun. And I would have been really bummed if this was the one he went out on. Yeah, like we said, look, we were said, we really got it to get Tyler Dedication Week and we did it. And my God, boy am I ready to sob my eyes out next week. Let me tell you, I'm prepared. It just feels like a relief. I know. I know. It really does. It really does. I'm so happy for him. Connor, Connor was next. Hysterical. He got me. Pulling the pants off to have the orange pants on underneath to match Riley was very funny. This is showmanship done right. Like I think he knows. he's not technically the best dancer, but they know that they can
Starting point is 00:32:11 kind of throw these fun entertaining aspects in. And I really do think he's getting a lot more criticism from the judges than anybody else. If you just look compared to, you know, what they say to Guillermo versus what they say to Connor.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Like, I don't know if it's just because they are like, it's like, ha, ha, Guillermo, but they're given them the same scores. And if you just took what they were saying, you would think, Giermos dance was amazing, fantastic, flawless, and Connor, like, messed up every single step, like the way that it sounds like,
Starting point is 00:32:43 the way they talk. And it's hard because Riley did give him a really intense samba. Like, there was a lot of classic samba moves in there, which are tricky. I think the pants maybe hid some mistakes to the layman's eye because they, it seemed to the judges saw a lot more than what I saw because it finished. I was like, that was good.
Starting point is 00:33:05 And then they were like, not so much. I thought, ooh, maybe I got to watch that one again because I thought that, like, I thought he was doing better. Yeah, I, I didn't think he was great, to be honest. I kind of did, like, was like, oh, that was not good, but it was funny and entertaining. But I think you're 100% correct in terms of like the criticism that Connor is getting compared to someone like Guillermo.
Starting point is 00:33:27 And this goes back to treating grown men like babies. Like, oh, Guillermo, you're like, you're doing so good and so much fun. And then like, Connor, they're like, they expect more. from him so they give him a harsher critique. But everyone should be getting the same critique because it just goes back to the treating
Starting point is 00:33:45 grown men like little babies when they don't need to be treated that way. But I think they know like his potential is higher. Even though Guillermo is cute and funny, people would say the same about fibula. So I feel like, you know, I get why people would be like, okay, why is he getting
Starting point is 00:34:04 harsher criticism? Yeah. But then you do bring him. up the argument of more potential, which you're 100% correct. They see more potential. They can see that Fibula can move more than Giermo, so they want him to do more. But it is a slippery slope when you're judging that. But I do, I did not think the dance was great, but I did think it was entertaining. And it does just maybe feel bad because I think at a certain point, like week after week when you're not really getting positive feedback, that can, that can be
Starting point is 00:34:33 challenging and tough on you. Oh my God. I would like lose my mind if that was me. I was watching Amy Polar with Andrew Garfield talking about the difference in like a director who will just make you do 20 takes in a row but never tell you you're doing a good job versus like you know what you're doing really great but you know me and I love doing 20 takes and it's like if you don't get sometimes if people don't get that positive reinforcement it goes out the window you don't feel motivated to do better than next week. So for Connor I feel like Connor likes hearing positive reinforcement and gets in his head when he doesn't hear it.
Starting point is 00:35:08 And I feel like he needs to hear a little bit more of it because they are being harsh on him. There's just also no way that him and Guillermo should be getting the same scores. No. It's just like, it's crazy to me, like to watch that day. To be like, for Gammoning at a six, like I'm sorry. It's just not. Like Joe Buck aside. Joe Buck can do whatever he wants.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Like Carian doing, given the six is there, Carrie Ann's judging was all over the place tonight to say. Derek was like to Fibula like, but I'm sure you'll be here next week. Like they know like who's, they know who's, they know whose fan basis is. are strong enough where like it doesn't matter. And maybe that's why they feel more comfortable giving him criticism because they know he's they honestly, him getting harsh criticism only makes his fans ride harder for him. Yeah, yeah, definitely.
Starting point is 00:35:50 And, and I would too. Like if it was my person, if my biggest person I was supporting on the show, I felt like was being judged a little harshly. I'm, you know, I'm going 10 toes down fighting for him. So he, obviously, and he stayed. Julia Stiles was next. She did a jazz with Ezra. A little homage to,
Starting point is 00:36:12 why am I spacing? Save the last dance. Save the last dance. I kept wanting to say so you think you can dance. No. That's the TV show. Which was smart. I think this was the perfect time to do that.
Starting point is 00:36:27 I'm sure they were waiting for the right dance where they could put this choreography and these moments into it. And I love that, was like, look, this may not be a classical jazz, but I think it's fun, it's her, it plays up to the song, and it was amazing.
Starting point is 00:36:43 That was, some of my favorite choreography of the night was this one. I thought Ezra did this really well. Ezra is an amazing choreographer, and he choreographs hip-hop really well. And although this was jazz, there was hip-hop elements into it, which I thought made it really, really fun.
Starting point is 00:36:58 And I kind of liked that the judges weren't so harsh about, oh, there's not enough jazz in this dance. Like, they were just like, yeah, It's a good dance and it's fun to see Julia be confident in herself. And I thought the same thing. Like she looked really confident and comfortable in the moves that Ezra choreographed for her. And I really liked it. I agree.
Starting point is 00:37:17 I agree. Jan and Tatiana were next. I just love watching these two. Me too. I just, I love, these two might be my favorite partnership of this season. I love them. I just really love them. I think they're so great.
Starting point is 00:37:32 I think he's so fun. I think he's bringing that like sexy, button side out for her and she keeps getting better and better every week. And I do think that was deceivingly a really hard dance solely from like just the tempo of that song. Because I know Derek had said like, oh, it felt like a little slow in times in the salsa is just like, pa, pa, pa, pa. But it's hard to do the pa pa pa pa to that song. So I feel like they did the best with the song that they had. Yeah, I, you know, it's hard because
Starting point is 00:38:04 I think I don't understand the salsa that well. I think that I just don't understand because I feel like the salsa is where people have been getting the hardest critique this season is the songs with the salsa are not matching.
Starting point is 00:38:22 Yeah. And so yeah, I can see, but I really love them. And I think that they are so fun and I love watching Tatiana grow every week. And I love the confidence that yawn instills in Tatiana and you can tell every time she's dancing.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Totally. Guillermo was next. It was, as always, a fun dance. Whitney just puts on a production for him, which is so smart and there's so much of a nod to the to Bad Bunny's halftime show. I mean, they got Danny Amandol at the bar behind Guillermo.
Starting point is 00:38:54 It was great. Little the grass moments. Whitney's like, you're Bad Bunny, I'm Rihanna. like it's it was it was so fun they do she does such a great job for him i thought it was a great dance to go out on uh because it was it was high energy as always he always gets the crowd into it and um it was fun i had a rewind on it i i had to i was like well i need to watch this again honestly you and derrick i think had the same feedback as you were texting like look at his
Starting point is 00:39:24 hips and derrick was like look at his swag there was a little moment where his hips had had had some movement and there was some fluidity. There was some improvement there. Not enough, but there was some there. And, you know, it was time. After that was Jenna and Val. Jenna and Val did a pasta doble. That was spectacular.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Oh, wow. Did this hit hard? Bad romance, first of all. Obviously, we're going to heat that up. Yeah. But just like the intensity at which Jenna dances at was so good. for the Pasadoblo. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:40:01 Like every week, it felt like she was getting feedback of, you know, rain it in a little bit, some finesse, all these things, this ballroom. And then you get a PASO
Starting point is 00:40:09 and it's like, ha, be powerful, be sharp, you know, hit those moves. And she really did. I, like the judges loved it.
Starting point is 00:40:17 We loved it. It was amazing. In that same realm, Harry was next. And I really just had, like, I was sitting at my couch. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:40:27 oh my God, he is Marston. from high school musical. Like when Martha is just like, I just want to pop and lock and jam and break. Like that is Harry. He can't control himself. His body just like breaks out into the robot.
Starting point is 00:40:40 And he's like, he's like trying to do like this dog, trying to do the sob arms. But they're like, they're like, yes. He just wants to do hip hop so bad. Your story made me laugh so hard. I was like, that is so spot on.
Starting point is 00:40:56 He cannot control himself. genuinely he just turns into beat bop boop boop beep boop like he cannot it's like contain it i oh i was laughing at the package so hard because it almost felt like because they're dancing to to yeah and he's just like talking about how much he loves usher and it felt like i almost felt like jenna was like all right all right buddy like samba i know you want to i know you want to break dance to yeah right now it's it's like there needs to be an episode of a show written about a guy who just can't stop breaking out into hip hop dance like like harry right and he's so good but it's but he's not really doing the dance like i get the judges criticism in a step up competition yeah yeah he is always
Starting point is 00:41:45 in that form he just wants to pop and lock and jam and break he just he just he just needs to do it And it was so true. There's a couple, like, there's a couple girls in my DMs that were like, look, I know Harry's an amazing dancer. But like, he is kind of doing the same sort of thing week to week. And then you see something like what Connor and Riley did. And Riley gave him a lot of Samba content.
Starting point is 00:42:09 And he got a lot of criticism. And Harry has his strengths. And then it's like when he was actually doing some of the Samba stuff, the judges were like, oh, it wasn't really that clean. But everything else is so good because he's just naturally such a good dancer that it makes those scores go up way higher. It's tricky. Right.
Starting point is 00:42:27 Am I loving Harry Shum? No. I'm not. And I feel sort of the same way about him that I feel about Jackson, where I'm kind of getting the same thing week to week. But my goodness gracious, am I going to be laughing about the pop and lock,
Starting point is 00:42:42 damn and break for a long time? Because there, I don't know if true words have been said. He's like the kid that plays the drums and just like has his drumsticks in his back pocket at all time. and like just like can't help but like bring him out no matter what like he's just got to go with it then he just courses through him it's so spot on wow but um jena was not having karyan's feedback i mean carriand went honey let me pull out my paper and read the definition of lift for you
Starting point is 00:43:16 this drama i loved this drama because i know that jena and valer going home and talking mad shit about Carrie Ann. Totally. This gave me such great flashbacks of old dancing with the stars when the pros would legit fight back with the judges. When the judges...
Starting point is 00:43:35 Max? Yeah, the judges would give their feedback and the pros would like roll their eyes. They'd argue back with them. And this was the first time that that's happened in a while where Jenna was like, what? And I was like, when they were getting their scores,
Starting point is 00:43:50 the camera shot, was framed where like it was on Jenna and then like Val was like right behind her and Val was just making these faces well they were asking her about like what they thought about what she said. Oh God. It really was, I just was eating it up. I love the drama.
Starting point is 00:44:06 I mean, Sue me. I agree with you. You need a little flare in there a little drama with the judges. Ezra went last. He closed the night to a little Nelly. He's just mesmerizing. This was me.
Starting point is 00:44:18 I was literally like that's watching him dance. Like my mouth open smiling. He's so incredible. This guy's winning it all. Mark it. He's winning it all. I know. I hear you.
Starting point is 00:44:28 He's so fucking good. He's so good. And Danny is just such an amazing choreographer. We say it week after week. I know. But you can really tell that Ezra's leading the dances. Because it would be very easy for Danny to lead every dance. Kind of like how she did with Dylan Afron.
Starting point is 00:44:43 It felt like Danny was, you know, she's the Ferrari, but she also felt like the driver with Dylan Afron. For Ezra, Ezra, Ezra is driving and he is so damn good. I sound like Derek like with my fucking puns. Like, okay.
Starting point is 00:45:00 This was, you're the linebacker. This was as strong as a linebacker. Precise as a quarterback. Okay. Touchdown. Like, what was that? That would be good if you guys
Starting point is 00:45:15 your review of the show, you had to do it as if you were like sitting there. Okay, let's be real, though. Like, if we were to do Halloween costumes for the judges, I got people saying this in my DMs. They were like, you guys should be the judges. And people were like, oh, no, it should be Carrie Ann.
Starting point is 00:45:31 But I actually think if we were to go based off of energy, I feel like I would be carrying. Yeah, I think you would be Carian. Ria would be Bruno. I'm just so Bruno. You're so Bruno, but sometimes Derek, sometimes a little cheesy. Listen, I'm not.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Derek, I'm probably not any of them, but I think you guys are Yeah, yeah. I think we're like maybe so obviously. Yeah. No, frame, but I feel like you could give Derek. Yeah, yeah. But sometimes, you know, sometimes I can be a stick or like Karyann.
Starting point is 00:46:08 You know what? Derek was rattled by what Kary Ann said. I would be the one that was like with my piece of paper, I'd be like, lift. Actually, actually 100% you are Kersk. Now that I'm thinking about it. I know. You're Karihan.
Starting point is 00:46:21 Without her, without some of, of her terrible, like without some of the numbers. Remove some of the bad jokes. But like the stickler rule. I don't think Fran would be as like harsh though directly to like Jenna's face like that. If there was a lift. I don't know. If you were standing on the other side of the.
Starting point is 00:46:40 If it was me dancing, but not if it was like these pros. I don't know. No, that's fair. That's fair. That's fair. But it was a fun night. Thank God when it got to the end. I think we were holding our breath because we,
Starting point is 00:46:52 just we're really rooting for Tyler here. Dedication night is next week. So everyone get your tissues ready because it's a tear jerker from beginning to end no matter what. No, I remember last year, I cried my eyes out for two hours. I know next week's going to be the same situation.
Starting point is 00:47:08 It will be. It will be. It's just always such a emotional night. But I always really enjoy dedication night because I feel like you sort of learn the reason why people are doing what they do, why they're there. What's motivating them to dance?
Starting point is 00:47:25 You know, everybody has something in them with that. Yeah. So I'm actually very excited for a dedication night. I saw people say like the Connor and Brooke fans were like, what if Connor dedicates his song to Brooke? That's not, I really need, I really need those fans to reel it back in for a second. And I'm a fan of both of them. I know.
Starting point is 00:47:48 I'm a fan of both of them. Same. It would be phenomenal TV. Oh, it would be great TV and obviously would secure some votes. Like the fans would eat it up. Of course if you're looking to eat some things up. Yeah, yeah. But I'd imagine there's something in Connor's life that goes beyond his show.
Starting point is 00:48:09 You know what I mean? For sure, for sure. And I feel like you've got to get a little bit deeper. Yeah, look, I'm already envisioning whatever Tyler and Sharna do to honor his mom. And I'm just going to. Yeah. Yeah. And so many other stories from other people that are going to be told that it will be a tearjerker. But yeah, sadly, Guillermo had to go. And but here's the thing. I need to. I'm buying his salsa asap. I got to get to a store. You got to get to it. I was eating it last night. It's fucking delicious. They don't have them in New York, in the city. But they do have some in Jersey. There was one, the Wegman's downtown, I think, has it. Oh, really? I got. how to get some.
Starting point is 00:48:50 When we're in the office, you might have to get it delivered to the office because it's closer, you know? Yeah, yeah, I really want some, though. By the way. When we had it when we were there, it was delicious.
Starting point is 00:48:59 I feel like, because Joe Buck said it, like, I actually think that we shouldn't loop Andy and Guillermo together. Like, I think Guillermo should be like, that's his own, it's his own season. He left his own mark.
Starting point is 00:49:14 And it shouldn't be like, oh, Andy, he's the Andy of this season. Like, Yermo is a totally, different. He's his own man. Okay. Everybody's their own person and everybody deserves their own shine. And nobody's saying he wasn't. I think it was just a nod. I think everyone was like, oh, this is just, he's, it's going to be the same thing.
Starting point is 00:49:33 But, you know. Well, unfortunately in the way of life comparison, you know, it's, it happens. But I got what you're saying. Everyone deserves their own shine and Guillermo deserves his own shine and we will, he will be missed. He will certainly be missed. he will certainly be missed. He will. He will. Do you think you'll hang up something behind you in honor of Guillermo in the studio?
Starting point is 00:49:56 Yeah, I guess I am going to have this shirt now. You actually, for real, you haven't seen my new shelves. I haven't. They were put up today. There's a big debut in the rest of this episode. I know, I'm bummed. I really was very unwell, very unwell. But we're on the up.
Starting point is 00:50:12 We're on the up. Yeah. And you have jury duty tomorrow. So we were, it was a, it was a tennis match of, do we record today without me or do we record tomorrow without you? Yes. And we ended up just deciding that this way the episode can get out as quick as possible. So everyone gets the dancing with the stars recap right there in the AM. Yes.
Starting point is 00:50:34 Yep. Love it. Fran, put a spoon under your pillow tonight. Put a spoon under your pillow tonight. Good luck with Jerry Dutty. Oh, oh. Oh, is that good luck? No, I was just, I mean, you do have a snow day.
Starting point is 00:50:45 Oh, yeah. I was like, I was like, does that have anything to do with the jury duty? No, no, it's just like a good luck thing. Am I trying to get my jury duty to be snowed out tomorrow? I'm also like, do you? Maybe, maybe. Do you want jury duty or do you not want jury duty? Like, do you want to be involved or do you not want to be involved?
Starting point is 00:51:02 We can have a frame on a case where we're going on tour in two weeks. Yeah, I want to be involved zero percent. You're correct. We are going on tour two weeks. Speaking of tour, St. Louis is sold out. And so is Indy and New York. work city is almost sold out. So if you're in New York, you're thinking about coming. There's very, very minimum, minimal tickets left. So get them while they're hot. Rest of tickets are on sale.
Starting point is 00:51:26 And we can't wait to see you there very, very soon. Can't wait to get back on tour. Also, some questions about what to wear to the tour. We're going to be in pajamas. Obviously, like our hair and makeup, all day done, whatever. We're going to be comfy, cozy. You can wear whatever you want. If you are comfortable showing up pajamas, wear pajamas. Maybe you want to do a matching set, sweatsuit, whatever you're comfortable with. But also, if it's your night out and you want to dress up, then fucking dress up.
Starting point is 00:51:53 Do you. This is about you being comfortable and enjoying yourself and enjoying a night out. So wear whatever you want to wear. Definitely. But it could be a great excuse to go out in sweatpants. Absolutely. Absolutely. Which is the excuse that we're doing.
Starting point is 00:52:07 We're looking for as well. All right. That wraps up the Dancing with Stars recap. and we'll get into the rest of the episode. I'll talk to you on Friday. While I will be feeling very refreshed on Friday, get my hair done and my nails done, coming back to life.

Starting point is 00:54:37 Crazy story from Ms. Selma Blair on a Delta flight seemed to be a bit of an outburst. and she was arrested. We'll go through the details of that. Joe Manginello has a new book coming out where he details a lot of this ongoing illness he's been dealing with, his marriage to Sophia Vergara, and there's been some back and forth
Starting point is 00:55:05 with Sophia about that. And then Amanda Seifred said that she will no longer, or not that she will no longer, but there was a show that she, said no to a lot of sex scenes. She doesn't want to do it. And I feel like fairly understandable at this point in her career. So we will start off with Selma Blair.
Starting point is 00:55:29 This was a crazy story. Selma Blair was arrested after an alleged violent outburst on a Delta flight. She entered a not guilty plea on Monday after being charged with two counts of second degree assault following a series of alleged attacks on a flight attendant, a port authority. police officer and a hospital nurse. She was seen in court already. Bail was secured. Her lawyer was like wiping her face. You see these pictures wiping her face in court?
Starting point is 00:56:03 And the case was adjourned until January 19th, 20207. Maybe he'll get put on that case. Oh, my God. Oh, my God, imagined? No, that's the timing would not lie up there. Also different state, I'm assuming. No, she's in New York. Oh, she's in New York.
Starting point is 00:56:18 She landed at JFK when this happened. Oh, my God. So you could be put on the case. She landed. This was. You should postpone just to maybe get on that. And then they took her to the hospital. Well, I wouldn't be in Manhattan.
Starting point is 00:56:29 They took her to the hospital. And that's when she also apparently attacked a nurse. When she got to the hospital and the nurse's nurse press charge. The nurse press charges. This immediately, like when I saw this and went, oh, no, because I kind of first assumed. that maybe it was something with her meds. She does have MS. And that is what her lawyer is saying that she had missed her medication,
Starting point is 00:56:58 prescribed to treat her multiple sclerosis, and also had fallen and hit her head. He claimed that she boarded the flight after being on set and working extensive hours and exhaustive hours in the days leading up to the trip. These factors, coupled with the altitude, resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation. this was not an intentional assault
Starting point is 00:57:18 and then of course they tried to say like oh look at her body of work and the judge was like well she's not going to be treated any differently because she's a celebrity which is they said look at her body of work as like her career also asked the judge to consider Blair's body of work claiming she is the gold standard the judge replied Miss Blair should not get any special treatment
Starting point is 00:57:39 because she's a celebrity I mean yeah I mean I guess you can try But like, that would be insane to... We've had way more successful celebrities out there who've gone to jail. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right. I think it's like, in these situations, if you're the lawyer, probably throwing everything out there.
Starting point is 00:57:59 I guess. Selma Blair is a gold standard? I didn't even know if she was two minutes ago. That is crazy. You didn't know who Selma Blair was? No. Honestly, like, named and ring the bell. Have you seen Legally Blunt?
Starting point is 00:58:11 Like, not... I haven't seen... Like, I know legally Blonde. seen it. Selma Blair was on Dancing with the Stars, not to make this about dancing with the stars. Well, she was on Dancing with Stars
Starting point is 00:58:20 like how long, like before it was popping. Like not that long ago. Really? I look up what year, what season she was on. We're on season 35 right now. Selma Blair. Cruel Intentions,
Starting point is 00:58:31 legally blonde. Those are probably like the really the biggest the biggest ones. But she's done a ton. Oh, 2022. Season 32. 2021. Not that long ago.
Starting point is 00:58:47 Wait, she withdrew from medical safety reasons. Well, because of her MS. She tried to dance through it and then at a certain point, like, she had to quit. It was very sad. I do remember this. She was with Sasha. Like, at that point, her body just couldn't handle it. She was flying from L.A. to at New York on a Delta flight, which, you know.
Starting point is 00:59:09 Hey, those flights feel like they're forever. We are, and we are often on those flights. Could you imagine if you were just I Their TMZ posted a recording of I guess maybe when they landed And it's just audio like someone had just recorded audio And she's screaming bloody murder
Starting point is 00:59:28 Like it is I mean it's crazy to be something else going on here No I don't I don't know I think she's had You know she's had issues with You know she's talked about it before She has issues with alcoholism there was a moment where she had
Starting point is 00:59:45 some sort of drunken incident on a plane like 10 years ago as well but that was like I just said when she was when she was drinking but they restrained her on the aircraft she was taken into custody after landing and that she was taken by ambulance to a hospital while en route she allegedly
Starting point is 01:00:00 repeatedly kicked a port authority police officer in the head and then once at the hospital she allegedly assaulted a nurse who later pressed charges Blair faces federal assault allegations related to the alleged in-flight incident in addition to the two state assault charges stemming from the attacks on the officer and nurse. They're saying that she experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct.
Starting point is 01:00:28 Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition. I mean, she was in court, like she's standing up in court there visibly. Yeah, I saw the video for walking out of court. Yeah, yeah. She looks not. well like she looks you know she's clearly upset yeah if she looks really good I'd be more no that would be crazy that would be crazy but no and you know I guess apparently she may be a bit a flight attendant and then that's what people were yelling at her when she was walking out did you bite someone did you bite someone
Starting point is 01:00:57 I saw I saw something that said apparently in her memoir she wrote about how she has bit like multiple people in her life just like not in like a lot I don't No, some sort of... Consensual a way. No. No. Like some sort of weird, like anxiety reaction?
Starting point is 01:01:24 Hmm. This is... Some of Blair has a bizarre history of biting celebrities, including Sienna Miller, Seth MacFarlane, and Kate Moss. In her 22 memoir, she explained that her biting habits stem from feeling overwhelmed in public. My system gets overwhelmed
Starting point is 01:01:39 in instantaneously short circuits. In my life, social interactions have been cumbersome, she writes in the book. She first describes taking her teeth into Santa Miller at the Chateau Marmon in 2006 after she introduced herself to the fellow actress, which is crazy. Bite your fingernails like a normal person. I don't know. It sounds like something that is a weird anxiety response.
Starting point is 01:02:04 I don't know. That sounds like a made-up thing. And then she bites someone and then is like, well, why did I just do that? She also bit family guy creator South and Farland after she was invited out to a Las Vegas gathering by a new friend Scarlett Johansson in 2004. She bit Seth McFarney. She struggled with alcoholism in the past and explains that she became star-struck when introduced to the writer at a Vegas club.
Starting point is 01:02:24 What do I do in public situations where I admire someone but feels if I don't bring anything to party? I bite him on the hand. What? Imagine if I bit Kate Hudson. It's crazy. Whoa, he else. That was like star-struck.
Starting point is 01:02:34 That really hurt. It wasn't a disaster. I didn't break skin, but I soon hated myself. Blair writes to the incident. She also bit supermodel Kate Moss while hanging out with her and a few others in a London Hotel Suite following a Mark Jacobs fashion show. She recalls taking Polaroid pictures with the model when she decided to take a bite at a Moss's finger, which was met with a laugh. And because she laughed, I did it again, the second time she did not laugh and exclaimed that really fucking hurt.
Starting point is 01:03:02 Selma Blair biting history. Crazy. I don't know. But that makes me think that there's some sort of like crazy, like anxiety or trauma responses she has where like she very, like she reverts to biting people and whatever cocktail of medications that she's on right now and if you fucked it up, it may be just really fucked up her brain at that point. I don't know because she's got to be, she's got to be on a lot of stuff right now. And if she doesn't take it properly or in the right order or all these things,
Starting point is 01:03:41 I'm sure that it can really fuck you up. But just like imagine you're just in your, you're sitting in your seat, la la la la la. Like here I am in 28F and you just hear someone screaming bloody murder. And then you're saying that they that they bit a flight attendant. I can't get over this like biting celebrities disease. I, yeah. A lot. She's been a lot of people.
Starting point is 01:04:05 She should be locked up. Like no offense. For biting people? Yes. I don't know. I don't know. Well, now here's the thing. She was charged with all this.
Starting point is 01:04:17 There's a lot of charges here. But, I mean, do you know what MS is? No, I know what MS is. Okay, because I'm wondering if you do. But MS doesn't have anything to do with biting people. No, no, no. No, but it really deteriorates your body and your mind. But I feel like.
Starting point is 01:04:35 And especially knowing what she could be on some crazy fucking medication. And maybe the medicine is what's doing it. Yeah, like really could be on some crazy medication. So my initial reaction to seeing this was just like, oh, this is really sad. Because I thought like, oh, this. You know she has MS. You know that this is probably some just bad case of something going wrong with her meds. And now it's just ongoing.
Starting point is 01:05:02 So I guess we have to wait to see what happens in January or if the nurse continues to press charges. Very sad story. there was just unfortunately a lot of sad, I feel like a lot of sad things happening right now. Where's John Kaczynski? Seriously, terrible accidents and death and, and this, just like a lot of bad things. You see Paul McCartney's gonna be on Amy Poller's podcast?
Starting point is 01:05:30 It's all, I came out. I was listening, there you go. That's a way to lift your spirits. No, I was like, I was thinking she's kind of like taken over the John Krasinski like role of talk show, I feel like. For sure. It's positive. I've never listened to an episode.
Starting point is 01:05:46 I've seen the clips, but I'll listen to Paul. It's so good. You should listen. She, I feel like she has so much fun with her guests. They have so much fun. Yeah, I listen to about half. I'm not done with it yet, but it's very good.
Starting point is 01:05:58 Is she out in New York or? I think she goes back and forth. I think mostly L.A., actually. Yeah. But. She's definitely going to win that Golden Globe. A repeat. No, you just know that they're like, they're giving it to like one of their own.
Starting point is 01:06:15 Well, she won it already. Oh, she won it already? Right, but didn't she win it last year? I don't know why I thought this was like the first year, to be honest. No, I remember I'm pretty positive she won. Yeah, look, good hang with Amy Poehler wins the first golden club. Oh, so let's go back to back. She just, she just wins every year.
Starting point is 01:06:34 Let's just give it to Amy Poehler every single year. Yeah. I mean, like some of the other podcasts, it would be objectively hilarious if they had to go up on the golden Like non-actors. Yeah. Well, what's fun about her podcast, too, is, like, they talk to people that know the guest beforehand. Like, someone always comes on, like, on Zoom to talk about the guests. So, like, for Paul, they had Stella, his daughter, Amy, talked to her.
Starting point is 01:07:01 And that's always funny. Like, when they asked, she asked them to come up with a question or something to ask them, or they talk. It's really to talk nicely behind their backs. That's what they say. I'm literally, like, a good hang super face. And I really watched all. And that is a good way to keep the vibes up because it has already just to kick off the week been some sad stories. Joe Manginello put a book out or is putting a book out a memoir.
Starting point is 01:07:29 Bloodlines comes out today. Comes out today. Bloodlines is the title. He details a lot about dealing with this illness, kind of like a mystery illness for nearly a decade that was undiagnosed and it was a near fatal autoimmune disease. And he's talked about sort of like how how he battled through that. And the memoir also talks about the end of his marriage of Sophia Vergara and like how his illness and all that really took a toll on their relationship. What was going viral was him saying, I guess, that there was a point where he asked
Starting point is 01:08:09 her for a hug and she said no yeah but they were they were still together yeah um he claims that yeah well that and the chihuahua thing yes yes but yeah he asked he became he his marriage became devoid of any emotionality whatsoever he claims that virgara refused to hug him and made fun of his pet chihuahua Not his pet chihuahua But he said that Like his chihuahua basically saved his life Like in a way I thought I thought oh the chihuahua did too
Starting point is 01:08:47 No like he was saying like the chihuahua saved his life And then Sophie Figuero was like basically mocking that I guess Oh So Sophia Vergara's son put out Like he posted this on Instagram And it was a graphic Comparing a good man versus a narcissistic man and there were traits under each thing
Starting point is 01:09:08 and remember kids when dealing with a narcissist it doesn't matter how much you do for them because they will resent you for it and nothing will never be enough and they'll always somehow try to paint you as the bad guy and so if you ever reposted that
Starting point is 01:09:21 and everyone was like ooh drama Gail King asked him about that and said like Sophia like that what would you say to that and he was like I would say like you have to read the book like it's not about he keeps saying it's not about his man
Starting point is 01:09:36 It's about his journey, like his own journey, which is fair. It's fair, but it's like it is about your marriage. You got to be able to say it's about your marriage. Because your marriage is a part of your journey. So it's like, you can't be like, ah, my marriage isn't in there. It's my journey. It's like, well, your marriage is a part of your journey. So you do talk about that, which was crazy.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Yeah, yeah, yeah. He claims in the book that Vergara refused to hug him, even when he begged in that she ridiculed him for his five-pound chihuahua bubbles. Aw. Then sickly pup, Manchinello had adopted in 2019 when he was considering suicide. I had to give my gun away because I kept thinking about it. And then the dog came. I went from being the patient to the caretaker.
Starting point is 01:10:23 You know, that breaks my heart. If she was making fun, you just pull up a picture of that chihuahua. Yeah. That chihuahua was so cute. Look at bubbles. Oh. Oh my God. I mean, come on.
Starting point is 01:10:43 How could you possibly have anything bad to say about that little chihuahua? I mean, objectively, like, you could make, I could see someone like just Joe Manchinell's like this big tough guy. Yeah, yeah. Obviously, not at that moment. Everybody loves to make fun of the big tough guy with his teeny little dog. Yeah. Well, I mean, we had Joe in here and I think he would tell you himself he's like kind of a nerdy guy. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:04 Dungeons and drag. Yeah, for sure. We saw him at Metallica. We didn't know. It's a lot more than his big exterior. Hey, if I had known, I would have congratulated him on the book. So we saw it multiple times in Vegas. I'm sorry, I'm just stuck looking at these pictures of bubbles.
Starting point is 01:11:21 Oh, my God. Look at this on the bike. Happy 12th birthday bubbles. Oh, my God. Is bubbles still alive? I feel like they might. Can you click on that Instagram post that you're on right there? Oh, yeah, what year?
Starting point is 01:11:34 Just to see what, what? That was 20, 25. 2035. Oh my God. Bubbles just turned 13. 13 and a half. Bubbles, please be okay. Let's see. I mean... Can we confirm that bubbles is still alive? This is October 2nd. Oh, okay. Oh, Bubbles looks old. I mean, hey, I'm sure Bubbles isn't really doing a lot of walking. He's just carrying it. See, you know, here's, you just don't, you never know what someone's going through with her.
Starting point is 01:12:02 Did you see that trailer or another trailer? They're doing this again for. a dog's purpose, a dog's, like all those movies, you know those ones? A dog's purpose. Yeah. They're making a new one that's with Dennis Quaid and this, like, and a basset hound. Another one with Dennis Quaid. Yeah. Another one with Dennis Quaid, yes.
Starting point is 01:12:28 I don't know the name of it, but I saw the trailer for it. This wasn't the one that got people kind of tried to cancel because of like the way that they used the animals. Was it? I don't think it was this one. I remember there being a dog movie that people were like upset about. Yeah, but I don't think it's this one. Okay. Oh, wait, during production controversy ensued over treatment of a dog.
Starting point is 01:12:51 Then I guess it was this one. I did remember it being like Dennis Quaid. Well, they've made like four of these movies, so. Yeah. Oh, wait, Bradley Cooper. Oh, okay, never mind. That's, he was playing the voice of the dog. No, no, but the role was eventually performing.
Starting point is 01:13:05 formed by Josh Gad. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, had it originally. How do you go from Bradley Cooper to Josh Gad? That's a big jump. So they have a new one coming out where Dennis Quaid is like a grumpy grandpa and they get a bastard hound and the bastard hound saves it. I don't know what.
Starting point is 01:13:25 I don't see anything about it. No, it's not two. It's like it's like five. Like it's. They've made that many. Oh, Christmas movie? It's a Christmas one. Oh, there you go.
Starting point is 01:13:37 It's a Netflix. A dog's perfect Christmas. Oh, okay. And it's a basset hound. And I think Dennis Quaid's wife dies and, you know, the relationship with the bastard hound. But every comment when they put stuff out on this is like, I will not watch this unless someone tells me the dog doesn't die.
Starting point is 01:13:57 Like, do not. Oh, I feel like. You know, they're like, I need confirmation that this dog does not die in this movie or else I'm not watching it. Yeah. They can't have the dog die in a Christmas movie. No. But I could see it being one of those right at the end of the dog died
Starting point is 01:14:14 but the family comes together or like some some bullshit like that. So you're about to say. Some bullshit like that? Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. But this is, I, they've, it's funny that Dennis Quaid is in this one again, but I think it's just a completely different character. Like, I don't think it has anything
Starting point is 01:14:29 to do with the fact that he was in a dog's purpose. Dennis Quaid and the creators of a dog's purpose return They're making it But I think they're different characters Yeah That's so crazy A dog's went home
Starting point is 01:14:44 You know it's also crazy So Joe's also Because back to Joe Mangonella for a second He's doing all this press for the book Yeah And This headline cracked me up Joe Mangano suspects
Starting point is 01:14:57 Tom Cruise Of torpedoing his casting in Amazon's Jack Reacher's show. This says in his new memoir, The Star claims that Amazon execs and production bigs were sent on him to play the famed lead child character in the streamer's TV adaptation. But he says that when the part suddenly went to someone else,
Starting point is 01:15:19 his team thought Cruz, who played Reacher in the 2012 and 2016 movie versions of the books, had him nixed. Menjell writes that in January 2020, he met with Don Granger and exec at Skydance Media, which produced the Reacher films and shows. We talked for an hour and a half Manjadele writes
Starting point is 01:15:35 Discussing the backlash over Tom's size Tom's size Like they were like I guess trying to say that Tom was too small to play Jack Reacher I mean This is just the definition Manjonello says Granger told him You are the closest thing to Jack Reacher
Starting point is 01:15:52 That I've ever met in my entire life You look like Reacher is described in the books You have his effortless intelligence Let me tell you something These quotes that come in the body. Yeah, these quotes that come in do make me think back to the a little bit of like the narcissist post that
Starting point is 01:16:09 Sophia's son threw up. Because it's like, Manchinel's grandeur told him you have like all these amazing descriptions. You couldn't be, you're a perfect fit. He claims that owner David Ellison and author Child were thrilled with the performance. But when Manjonella was presented to Amazon head, Jen Salk, things soured. He was right that
Starting point is 01:16:33 Song was furious at being excluded from the casting process and felt that she was being railroaded into a final decision made by a group of primarily male producers that she didn't feel a part of. When Mangonella was told he hadn't landed the role, his team speculated widely that Cruz, an executive producer on the show, could have potentially come in over the top
Starting point is 01:16:52 and vetoed me being cast on account of Sophia. Cruz had allegedly dated Vergara, his then wife, in 2005. that's dare I say feels like a bit of a reach it's like oh top every good-looking actor is narcissistic Tom Cruise came in
Starting point is 01:17:11 and blocked you from playing this character because once upon a time he dated Sophia Vergara in 2005 I would kind of respect that level of petty if that's true like that long right it's like at that point this is this is years and years later did you see by the way I don't know why that just made me think of this,
Starting point is 01:17:31 but Jessica Chastain posted Jeremy Strong a text message with Jeremy Strong yesterday that I just thought was very funny. He sent her a news article that said, Other Mommy Spanx the Social Reckoning at the box office, and she responded to OMG, and then he gave the middle finger kiss emoji, and then...
Starting point is 01:17:53 These pics are hysterical. It's so funny. He looks so sad. I mean, that is... But I'm just like... Funny. It's weird to see Jeremy Strong not be so serious. Right, right, right. Well, but at the same time, also,
Starting point is 01:18:05 you know Jeremy Strong is like Googling himself and reading every single review of the social marketing. Well, it's funny because they both got bad, like, critical reviews, but the other mommy is making so much money. Right, right. So now he's just deferred to box office. It's like, all right, both these movies allegedly stink, says the critics, but other mommy is making money in the box office.
Starting point is 01:18:26 Yeah, social reckoning is not. though I don't think. I can't believe it's that bad. Is that crazy to say? I really would have thought that just be, I mean, I don't know, so much time has passed from the social network, but I just felt like it would have had so much of the same.
Starting point is 01:18:42 Did you see what Mikey Madison said to that like she wanted to, she wanted to like sort of transform her appearance more to match the character she was playing? And that Aaron Sorkin was like, no. Why? I think he wanted her to like look good. Like be less attractive. Because I think objectively
Starting point is 01:19:04 she would have had to make herself look. Yeah, yeah. I just feel like the marketing of this movie, like everything that they did is like this is going to be like the first one. The problem that they like, I mean, they should have known that there was going to be an issue when Jesse Eisenberg had no interest in doing it.
Starting point is 01:19:21 Aaron Sorker just like assumed that he was going to play the role again. Yeah. I also think like, David Fincher not directing it is like Yeah Also like Aaron Serkins have fun Like he directed it right? He directed it yeah
Starting point is 01:19:33 But like he's not That's not his bread and butter Directing No but he's directed so much You know He had like not that many movies I don't think Molly's game was was good
Starting point is 01:19:47 Like the trial of Chicago 7 was good That's it? He's directed four feature films Yeah he's not a director He's a writer Wow I'm not a actually shocked by that. I would have thought he did so much more. Shout out to Aaron Torkin went to a film program at Syracuse.
Starting point is 01:20:05 Oh. Yeah. So, um, but, uh, he, he went to the VPA, like the arts film program. Oh, wow. I know there was another thing. I got you. I got you. And that's like, like, like, Newhouse definitely tries to claim him though.
Starting point is 01:20:20 Yeah. I'd imagine so. Yeah. Wait, so, okay, so we wrote and directed Molly's game and wrote and directed social rec. Oh, so he wrote and directed everything that he's directed. That he's directed. Anything that he's directed, he's never directed. He's never directed something that someone else has written.
Starting point is 01:20:34 No. But like his best movies that he's written are not. Have been directed by other people. Yeah. Damn. Well, after social reckoning, maybe he won't go back. Yeah. I mean, I'm also just like, I'm sure that if David Fincher had said I will direct this movie,
Starting point is 01:20:50 he would have let him. And I'm sorry. I don't know if you guys saw those pictures of him on the red carpet. He looked. It looks like he was toasted over a fire. The level of tan was unlike anything I've ever seen. It, is like, is it a spray tan or what? I don't know what happened. Because he's that orange, but it was not good.
Starting point is 01:21:13 You got to find, uh, it's really, yeah, I, what is, what's, that's a bad, to me almost that's like a bad bed tan. Yeah. Like, that's like you fell asleep. Like, look at the difference here. or something. Whenever that picture. All these headlines.
Starting point is 01:21:29 Aaron Sorkin shows off shocking tan. It's like, yeah, what? That's a spray tan. That was me and Rio when we had to come in and record and we didn't shower. And we couldn't shower before the podcast episode came out. And we were like, this is terrible. Mikey Madison is. No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:21:43 It is so bad. That is in. That's a problem, man. And if you had, uh, yeah. In the right, in the right, wrong lighting, I guess I should say. In the wrong lighting, it's. terrible. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:58 Charming out, why's looking good. Who let him do that? I mean, no one can stop you from sitting in the sun. I guess, but it's like, that's why I think it couldn't possibly
Starting point is 01:22:08 have been a spray tan because it's like, if it was a spray tan, you would hope that someone on his team was like, you got to scrub yourself. Take an app, a tanning bed though like that. No, I know, I'm saying,
Starting point is 01:22:20 that's to me is like he was maybe in a tanning bed. People still do tanning beds. People still do it. It blows my mind. I see girls on TikTok be, like, talking about it, and it is crazy to me. Crazy to me. Speaking of, like, things that are bad for your health, I saw this, uh, there is this thing that said, uh, some CEO or someone who worked at AI is that AI, it says AI researchers
Starting point is 01:22:47 are now smoking cigarettes because they expect AI to eventually cure cancer. Interesting. So they're saying, if they smoke. cigarettes. They're just like, well, now we can because it'll be cured soon enough. Right, right, right. They're like, I don't have to I don't have to worry about getting lung cancer from this because
Starting point is 01:23:07 at that point we'll have the cure for cancer. Yeah. Wow. That, you know, if AI's trying to kill us, are they going to cure cancer for us? I just need everyone to get their story straight. Are we, are they saving us or are they killing us? Like, are we all going to die or are they curing every illness and disease and issue that we have? Maybe
Starting point is 01:23:27 because we're getting mixed we're getting mixed messages imagine they already did but they're like withholding it like AI is like we have the cure but don't tell them well that would be crazy because AI could really use like good PR and that'd be great that would be pretty good I don't think I cares about good PR when they're gonna no no no but the people who run AI oh yeah people who run the companies I don't think the people who run the companies are I think we're at the point or getting they just don't give a shit no not that they don't give a shit they don't have any control like they're not in control they've already lost control of the...
Starting point is 01:23:58 Like their product is... They are like... Yeah, yeah. Okay, I can't even talk about this. It gives me the hebe-jeebies. Okay. Last topic is Amanda Seifred says she passed on starring in a new show
Starting point is 01:24:09 because it had lots of sex scenes. I'm not into it right now is what she said. And you know what? That is so fair. She revealed she recently passed on a series. She didn't quote want to deal with all the sex scenes.
Starting point is 01:24:22 She stared at her thoughts during a panel hosted by Alec Baldwin at the Hampton's International Film Festival. During the conversation, she shared that her feelings about portraying on-screen passion have involved over the years. She said, our jobs are weird. As I get older, it gets we have to be romantic with people that we're not romantic with. Sometimes it's great. Sometimes it's really uncomfortable. But I can't believe back in the day I was just like, we got to make out. Great, this is awesome. I know how to make out. She had it with a laugh. And it used to be so fun. It was a non-thing. It was like, I get to make out with a hot person today. And they're paying me. However, she said the very thing she used to look forward to now actively deters her from certain projects. I passed on a show where I would have to have sex all the time because of the sex.
Starting point is 01:25:03 Doesn't matter who it's with. I don't want to do it. I'm uncomfortable with it. I'm not into it right now. Maybe if the project, you know, came along again at a later point. Maybe I'd be in a different space. But she's like, I don't want to deal with being naked with a stranger. She also said that, you know, her abilities to, like, say,
Starting point is 01:25:23 know to things have obviously changed and she's gotten older. And she said, I have kids now who are paying attention to what I do. And so I have to be less of a pushover which is so crazy. I totally get what she's saying and I can't imagine that like you reach a certain point in your career where you're just like, I really
Starting point is 01:25:44 would prefer not to have to do this. And because now it's like when people talk about intimacy coordinators and those things like they're so vital and important to the set and to making things work but even the actors are like it's still an awkward situation regardless like that job is still an awkward job yeah
Starting point is 01:26:04 I actually just saw that Dakota Johnson was kind of saying the opposite of this that she wants to be in more sex stuff yeah not that she wants to be in more that she just like has enjoyed that yeah yeah that she likes doing it I mean she's good at it
Starting point is 01:26:23 yeah is you know she is good at it because they Josh Hartnett did talk about how like they had that intimacy coordinator Yeah Josh Hardin said we had such Great chemistry as friends on set
Starting point is 01:26:38 The sexual scenes were a little bit goofy When we weren't filming You have to keep it light and keep it moving You got a joke about it For sure He had said that the intimacy coordinator played a big part in filming Verity
Starting point is 01:26:49 You gotta Like yeah you gotta keep things found me lots a lot on set. It is crazy. I just like, it just sucks though because it does really feel like there's so much, I don't know, certain shows it makes a lot of sense when there's a lot of sex in it. And then some shows, it feels like they just throw it in there because they know it's spicy and it gets people talking and it maybe doesn't like serve the story as much. So I bet you there's a ton of situations where actors or actresses see a character that they really, really
Starting point is 01:27:25 like or someone that they want to play and then they'd be like, well, why am I fucking naked? Like half the time. There are plenty of times when I'm watching a movie and there'll be like a new part and I'm like, that could have easily not been in the movie. Totally. I do really think sometimes it takes you out of it. Like there's somewhere
Starting point is 01:27:41 100% like is a part of the story and you get it. And then there's times where you're like, that feels like it didn't need to be in here. because I saw like a scene of no hard feelings pop on my TikTok the other day and that reminded me like I remember when I watched that movie being like stunned that she like went fully in that direction because I'm like she's big enough where like she could have easily been like no like where I don't want to do that. Yeah that's always different to me too because I feel like comedy is like yeah I don't know there's like there's a when there's a comedic aspect to it sometimes it's different when it's like steamy sex scenes. that are just meant to be steamy and sexy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:24 That's where sometimes you're watching a show and you're like, what did that do? Yeah. However, there are plenty that I do like because there's plenty where it makes sense and it's needed. But Amanda, I've watched. And that also is also such a thing,
Starting point is 01:28:42 like to the point where when you have kids that have to either, maybe they want to watch what you're doing or other kids are watching what your mom's doing. That has got to be such a big factor too because you're just, your kids are going to school. It's like, what are they going to say? Well, yeah, they shouldn't be watching those movies at that.
Starting point is 01:29:03 No, no, of course not. But you're... I mean, when they're becoming teenagers. If you're in that situation, you're thinking about like down the line. Like, you're thinking about like, oh, when my kid's 16... Hey, it's art. What are they going to watch?
Starting point is 01:29:16 No, no, totally, totally. It affects everybody different. Some people love to do it. Some people don't. It's such a personal choice. Like Nicole Kidman, she's doing it. I mean, that movie, what was that movie? What was that movie called?
Starting point is 01:29:31 Baby. Baby? That was just an insane baby girl. Baby girl. That wasn't an insane movie. But you know what? That's one where it's just like, she's like, fuck it. I'm having fun with it.
Starting point is 01:29:42 No, no, that's one that she probably wrote herself. She wanted to do that one. She was a big, obviously a big, fan of it and wanting to do it. So it's such a personal preference. The headlines just always crack me up when it's like, this makes news of her being like, I don't want Amanda saying, I don't want to do sex seats. And now that is probably, it's such a, it's such an interesting conversation that actors, actors and actresses have to have when they're reading a role to be like, is this something that I want to do or not do? Because some people are comfortable with it.
Starting point is 01:30:18 be born. So we won't be seeing Amanda in any roles like that anytime soon, clearly. She does not want to her. I'm like, how many, like, has she done a lot of her movies? I mean, maybe I haven't seen a lot of her movies, but I'm like, I can't remember any, like, steamy sex scenes with Amanda Seifer. I, I can't really
Starting point is 01:30:34 either. Everything I feel like I've seen has been like any of these movies here, like, has been more like, Jennifer's body, she had a nice scene with Megan Fox. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I'm just thinking more like PG-13 stuff. But that's like, maybe that's why she was saying it, because that's what she's comfortable with. And then this, like, TV show was had crazy. The housemaid was pretty
Starting point is 01:30:52 recent. But I don't know if she... I didn't see the housemaid, so I don't know. What was in it? I can't remember if she had a scene in that or not. Letters to Julia, never seen. Letters to Juliet, it's also very, very PG. Yeah. Is it? Nothing great. PG-I mean, it's probably PG-13,
Starting point is 01:31:08 but there's nothing... Yeah. No, Letterst of Julian is PG. Look at that. What the hell? Yeah. I thought it would have been like a notebook-type movie. No, no. Letter to Juliet is very sweet. There's nothing to crazy in letters to Juliet
Starting point is 01:31:23 I got to say, but I love that movie. It's a cute movie. Maybe, I don't know, Dear John, I've, can't remember everything that's in Dear John. I'm sure there was. We won't be seeing Amanda in any of these roles anytime soon. And that wraps up the topics. We will

I know Noah's going to have some strong opinions. Let's play the first voicemail.
Starting point is 01:33:58 Hi, Rita and Fran and Noah for a long-time listener, first-time caller here. So I have more of a question for you guys. Is it okay to repeat a couple's costume for the Halloween season? So just a little bit of context, eight years ago, I did a couple's costume and fast forward now, happily married, no longer speak to the guys. but I'm thinking about couples costumes, and I can only think of the one that I did, which was, it was Fred and Wilma, the Flintstones. So just wanted to know if you guys think it's okay to repeat a couple's costume.
Starting point is 01:34:36 If there should be there a time limit on it, it doesn't matter if it's like a popular one, or, yeah, what are your guys' thoughts on repeat couple costumes? Love you guys so much. You guys really get me through my week. Love you lots. Thanks. Bye.
Starting point is 01:34:51 Thank you so much. love you too. Absolutely do not repeat this costume. I have to agree with you. That would be weird. Absolutely do not repeat. There's no reason to repeat. There are so many options. That's so funny that she can only think of the Flint. She's like, she's like, I got one and it's Fred and Wellman. I can't think of anything else. That is a cute costume, but like, I'm sure you have. If I was the husband, I would say no.
Starting point is 01:35:14 Yeah, I'm sure you have friends that knew you when you were with your ex and then you're doing this again. And if you're happily married, you guys can 100% come up with a different couple's costume. To me, that's like, I don't know. It's also to me, I'm just thinking of comparing, like, my ex in the costume versus my husband in the costume. Yeah, what if you're like, wait, he made a way better friend. Yeah, like, he looks better. This look, this is different or we're doing like the same thing. We're taking the same pictures.
Starting point is 01:35:43 It's like the same poses. Yeah, I'm just going to go with a hard stance of don't do this because, I feel like there's got to be something else that you and your husband can dress up as when it comes to couples costumes. I thought what you started, that this was going to be like, can me and my husband wear the same costume like every single year? And I would have been like, sure, you can. It's kind of boring, but you can. This is way crazier. And I highly suggest not wearing the same costume.
Starting point is 01:36:17 Think of something else. That's my final answer. All right, next one. Hi, girls. This is Fiona, and I have my three-year-old daughter. What is your name? Harlow. She absolutely loves the podcast.
Starting point is 01:36:32 So, she actually wants to sing a song for you, girls. Do you sing the weekly watch report? She loves when Ria says weekly watch report on Monday. things that's so loud. She loves that. So keep that going. Oh my God. So my little hot take is watching TV is exhausting.
Starting point is 01:37:01 It's overwhelming and it's a lot of work. All the streaming services that we have now changed the game on me. I can't keep up with Netflix. I can't keep up with Apple TV. Every time I open up Netflix, there's so many shows and I'm like, oh, my God, oh, my God, oh, my God, my God. Like my mind goes insane. Like I'm losing my mind.
Starting point is 01:37:23 And all I want is to just turn on Netflix. And this is not only Netflix. This is everything else. And just find something. I'm like, oh, yep, this is what I want to watch. But no, there's so many options now. It's wild. What do you guys do?
Starting point is 01:37:40 I know I listen to your guys' weekly watch report on Monday. and you guys give such great feedback and I love that but what else do you guys do to filter out shows that you don't want to watch or what interests is you because there's so many options nowadays it's making this girl overwhelmed. Thank you and happy blessed day. Oh, well she is very sweet and same with her cutie daughter. It is hard and I would say that you can refer to our recommendations
Starting point is 01:38:12 if you are looking for something but for me I don't know. I just feel like we're on a different level when it comes to being in the know of what's coming out. And that's just solely from a business standpoint, because just the behind the scenes of having guests on the show and things like that, like we are constantly looking to see what is coming out
Starting point is 01:38:39 and who are participating in those new things because maybe we want them to come. come in for an interview or people are getting pitched to us because they're trying to promote their new show. So I feel like we learn a lot that way because we know like new things that are coming out because of the people that we're talking to or just like emails or notices or all these things just from being just from being in the biz. I feel like we, we know a lot of what's coming out. I will say like the rotten tomatoes of the world and like those reviews. There are many of times where I don't, I'll watch something and like either think it's better than what people
Starting point is 01:39:17 say or it's worse than what people say. But it is kind of a good indicator where like if I see something pop up on Netflix like with this show that I'm watching now below where it's like when I saw Josh Hernet, I'm like, okay, this looks interesting. But like it also could be terrible. Let me look. Yeah. I had like pretty good reviews. So I'm like, all right, I'll I'll spend my time watching this where if it had like a 20% around tomatoes, I'd probably be like no. Right. Because I'm not going to waste my time. It's just like to me I guess too it's so word of mouth like if I see somebody posting on social about a new show or it comes up of my feed I'm like oh I got to check this out like I feel like that really works yeah a lot of things because I rarely am I
Starting point is 01:40:00 rarely am I just mindlessly scrolling through the apps to find something to watch like normally I am opening an app with the idea that I am putting on a certain show like Like I'm opening up Netflix because I want to start East of Eden. Like I'm opening up Hulu because I'm catching up on special forces. Like I'm not like Peacock. I'm going for my Bravo stuff for traders. There's always something that I'm thinking of first. And the times when I would just like open Netflix and la la la la la scroll, it is, it's quite annoying because you actually, it's hard to pick something.
Starting point is 01:40:36 Oh, I would, I'll spend like an hour just like looking for something and then just not end up watching anything. Right. And then you just like end up turning the TV off. You're just like, ah, that didn't work. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right, let's do another one. Hi, Rio, Klan, Noah. This is Lauren from South Florida. So my maid of honor and I have been arguing I'm getting married in three weeks about the last song, whether it should be an uppity dance vibe or more of a slow, let's all scream, sing this song together. So I wanted to get your opinion. I am between Chris Brown forever or I don't want to miss a thing by Aerosmith. Oh, wow. So I know you're going to say probably whatever you want, like everybody says when you're the bride.
Starting point is 01:41:14 But I want other people's opinions. I want to do what we'll make the vibe the best. Okay. Love you guys. Bye. Forever. Yeah. Well, here's the thing.
Starting point is 01:41:23 You're going to be annoyed by my answer. That's going to be that. You don't want Chris Brown. No, no. No, it actually wasn't going to be that. But yeah, I mean, in the back of my mind, I'm always kind of like. But that's just such a good time. Here's the thing, though.
Starting point is 01:41:34 It depends on, like, what the plans are afterwards. Because you play a song like forever, everybody's stealing up. They're probably going, one more song, one more song. But that also feels like a last song to me. Like, all right, if we hear it forever, what a way to end it. And then you go to the after party. I kind of think, what was this other option, Aerosmith? I don't want to miss the thing with, yeah, Aerosmith.
Starting point is 01:42:01 That's like a great last song, though. Don't want to close my, yeah, but everyone's like, everyone can huddle up together. They're swaying. They're singing. And then it feels like, it feels like you're, you're tying things with the bow. And then the band can be like, all right, everybody. Fuck. Out to the after party or wherever people are.
Starting point is 01:42:21 Or maybe it's the, or maybe it is just the full stop end of the night. And that's the case. I like kind of like that ending too. When does shout usually get played? Like at what point in the night? Towards the end. Because I was going to say, that's not the last song, is it? Maybe it is.
Starting point is 01:42:34 No, a lot of times it is the last song. Because that could just be like, if I hear shout, I'm like, oh, we're getting to, we're getting to the end. Yeah. Yeah. But that's like, I feel like that should be required to play at weddings. Shout? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:45 Like, if you're- Some people, that's, honestly, that's a hot take, no. Some people fucking hate shout. I feel like that's the most, like, universe. I've never been to a wedding where show comes on and not everyone on the floor is doing it. Hey, I'm with you. I love shout, but I have been to weddings where the bride has said no shout. Like, it's been on the absolute do not playlist.
Starting point is 01:43:06 Yeah. Wait, that was when Joe was singing. Joe sang shout. Joe my husband got on stage and sang shout at our wedding So in our household We love shout I don't get anyone who like would have a problem with shout Like especially if you've seen animal house
Starting point is 01:43:21 Like yeah People have got upset because there's been times where it like gets like too rowdy That's it okay so sorry Sometimes they've like banned shout from events Which is hilarious It's like the whitest person thing ever to be like We're banning shout Because you guys can't keep it
Starting point is 01:43:35 Keep it under control Yeah A little bit louder now and then people fucking lose their minds. Yeah. I'm trying to think of, like, other classic, like, end of night songs at Wednesday. Let me tell you, the more I think about it, the more I, like, don't want to miss the thing. What about closing time?
Starting point is 01:43:54 Now, closing time is depressing. Yeah, yeah. But, like, what do people, like, what was your last song? I don't know. Was it shout? I have no clue. No, I don't think shout. I feel like it was early.
Starting point is 01:44:11 I don't think, like, Joe was on the stage at the end of the end. Yeah, no, I mean, it was definitely towards the end that he did that. But I don't know how much was afterwards. Yeah. Mr. Brightside is one that's always played a lot to the end. That's one that I would say that's, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that one, I feel like that's one thing. I actually have no idea what was, but I did not think about this at all.
Starting point is 01:44:36 Sarah's definitely like that was my last song. Oh, wait, really? Oh, I don't know. I said, that's crazy. most people like pick theirs. Oh, oh, really? Most people picked their last song. I did not pick my last song.
Starting point is 01:44:47 You didn't? No. Well, what songs? You picked, you picked like the playlist, though. No. Well, you had a band. I had a band.
Starting point is 01:44:58 But still, you didn't know what songs were going to play going into the wedding? I mean, I had a lot. I had a big list. They sent me their big, like, rollad decks of songs. We had Grateful Dead songs playing so that.
Starting point is 01:45:09 I knew that show like. Yeah. obviously. No, Joe and I went through like everything and we sent them back all the songs that we like and, you know, they have so, there's so many though. So it's like they're not going to play all of them. So we sent everything that we liked and the ones that were like hard, hard, hard, hard absolute. We do not want. Like where we kind of, we didn't want that list to be really, really long of like, because if we were iffy on a song, we just said it's fine. Yeah. And it was just really the ones that we were like, we felt it. We felt it. We stronger if there is only 10-ish that we were like please absolutely not yeah what about were you everything else is fine and I just we really
Starting point is 01:45:50 like the band like we go and see the band play on the vineyard all the time so we sort of just trusted them and I did not I did not pick a lot of song what about Bruno Mars I said no Bruno Mars no Bruno Mars and no shut up and dance I hate that song
Starting point is 01:46:06 that's my least favorite song ever Ever. How does that go? So don't you dare look back. Just keep your eyes on me. I said you're holding back. I think of shut up and drive.
Starting point is 01:46:19 I said shut up and dance with me. Yeah, that's a great song. It's a great song. Shut up and I have like a personal problem with shut up and it. Like I get mad when it plays. And I leave the dance floor at other people's weddings when it comes on. Yeah, that's a bad one. So I really, I'm not a fan of that song at all.
Starting point is 01:46:40 Someone actually with all my John Mayer stuff that's been going on said they were at a wedding that John Mayer was the performer at and said it was the greatest night. Could you imagine that? Wow. That's insane. Damn. People really do pay the big bucks for these things. I also feel like no one is remembering anything from that wedding other than John Mayer though. That is his like that's like a John Mayer concert at that point.
Starting point is 01:47:05 For sure. Yeah, right. But at that point it's like. No one even cares about you or like... Yeah, but are you that much of... Are you that much where, like, I need to be the star? I'd like to deprive your guests of John Mayer. No, no.
Starting point is 01:47:22 I would pick John Mayer over my own wedding every day of the week, but I'm just saying like, I don't know. That's a tough one. Like, if you're the bride and groom, like, no one is even looking at you. Yeah, but what if you have... You got have a whole moment where you plan to, like, be on stage with, John. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:41 Don't worry. There's ways you can make it about yourself in those. Yeah. There's always a way to make it about yourself. If I was having to correspond with John Mayer
Starting point is 01:47:50 about what songs he was going to play at my own wedding, that'd be unbelievable. Yeah. Yeah, that would be. Come up with the set list. I don't really like this one.
Starting point is 01:47:59 Maybe you could play this one instead. There'd be plenty of do not play this on the John list. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't want to hear new light, John. Okay, I don't care how fucking popular it is. Fair. Hey, that's fair. That's fair. So, all right, hard, hard pick. Let's, but you're going forever? Oh, that definitely forever. Okay, I'm going, don't want to miss the thing.
Starting point is 01:48:20 Because, like, I just know how forever it would go. And it's like, people are going to, there'll be like, they'll do the office thing and like, you know. But in my mind, it's like you could play forever into, I don't, like that could be, you know, at any point of the night. But just it feels like a, it feels like a good last one. I like a last one that kind of just brings people back down a little bit. Like, I don't, sometimes I don't love ending on, like, a really, really high energy note. Like, I like to. Yeah, I guess that's true. Have a moment.
Starting point is 01:48:46 Okay, let's do one more. Hello. I was just discussing about this the other day, and I was getting really heated about it. My hot take is, I think that we have gotten past the point of why we're making live action movies, specifically in Disney, with the new Moana one. I think it's so annoying. I feel like the point of making a live action is to make a movie that was better than the original that can do something different than the original animated movie if it was older. Why are we making a Moana live action?
Starting point is 01:49:17 Why did this movie come out? Because they're not going to make another one. So now we're just stuck with this Moana live action that is way worse than the original animated one. Why did we make it? Couldn't tell you. It's just frustrating because I love Moana. And the whole excitement of, yay, like, my favorite process they're making a live action for,
Starting point is 01:49:39 this is the one we're stuck with from Moana. They're not going to make another one. And this is just what I have to watch. Like, it's so much worse than the animated one. And I hate that because that literally defeats the whole purpose of live action movies to make something that is better than the original. So yeah, that's my hot take. Just wondering what you guys think.
Starting point is 01:50:00 And yeah, I love your podcast. Thanks, Rian, Fran. Thank you. I feel like specifically the way that the Moana has gone has left to sour taste in everybody's mouth because it was just kind of a bust. Also the rock being in both. It's just funny to me.
Starting point is 01:50:17 Yeah. And there just hasn't really been to, I don't know, there hasn't been a lot where you were like, that was amazing. The Lily James Cinderella, I am a massive fan of though, I will say. Cinderella, I feel like doesn't count. That one's been made like a thousand times.
Starting point is 01:50:34 Like there's so many different versions of Cinderella that it all makes sense. But realistically, like, it's just a massive cash grab from Disney. It's like, let's just, how do we just take all of these stories that we already have and just reimagine them and put them into live action? And you want the care to be there. And sometimes it's not like the Mawana thing, maybe felt a little lazy. I just have no interest. Milan's like one of my favorite movies. And I never even thought about seeing the live.
Starting point is 01:51:04 action. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, why? Yeah, I never saw it either. I don't think I've ever seen any live action. Like, what other ones are there? There's Little Mermaid, Beauty of the Beast, Cinderella. Never saw.
Starting point is 01:51:20 Yeah. Moana. Lilo and Stitch, they just did. Never saw Hercules. They didn't make, there's no live action. Really? I thought they did. No, people want a live action Hercules. I thought they, oh, maybe you're right.
Starting point is 01:51:34 that might be in the plans coming out in 2037 like i don't like is disney announced that oh yeah maybe they did tease that or there's just rumors the one people won zendaya and tom holland to be the the hercules yeah classic no offense tom holland you're you're not tom holland can't can't be hercules he just can't he's not big enough like this goes back jo man jill is like Tom Cruise was too small to be Jack Reed. No, no, Tom Holland just, I mean, he could, I guess. But. There's always a way to make someone look taller on screen.
Starting point is 01:52:15 I don't, yeah. Most of the times I watch a Tom Cruise action movie. Like, when I'm watching Mission Impossible, I'm not like, holy shit, he's so short. But he's not playing a Greek god, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I don't want the rock. I don't, I'd rather have Tom Holland than the rock, but who would be like a good Hercules? I don't know
Starting point is 01:52:39 They would probably do Austin Butler I was literally just about to say Austin Butler's jacked right now because he's playing that new Yeah he does a little bit Do you see that Dominic Sess is in the Miami Vice Now too? Yeah I saw that yeah I saw the pictures of them on set
Starting point is 01:52:51 What a trio Yeah That is big time I don't know But then there's something that I'm excited for Like I'm really excited for the Tangled live action I think But people were mad about that
Starting point is 01:53:02 When they weren't they? like the tased. Tangled is no matter what people are going to be mad though because it's such these animated movies are so beloved and yeah I guess it's true with like Cinderella it's been remade so many times and there's so many different versions of it
Starting point is 01:53:17 that it doesn't feel like as like oh my God live action but I yeah yeah and like I don't go back and have I seen Beauty and the Beast yeah have I got back and watched I actually do think I bought that movie on iTunes I'm not gonna lie
Starting point is 01:53:34 feel like when it came out, I did watch it a lot. Also, solely because, you know, I was just trying to support my girl on the Watson. Yeah. The thing with animated movies now, too, is they're not, they don't have like the charm that the old ones did. Yeah. Yeah. Like people said this with the Shrek trailer and stuff.
Starting point is 01:53:48 Yeah. It's like two, the new animated movies almost seem like their live action. I know. Unfortunately, I feel like where we are at right now is that everything is being packaged into like multi-level deals and they just want to expand the, IP so much where it's like hey this movie the 10 year plan for this movie is like
Starting point is 01:54:10 this movie comes out and then we're going to do a live that we're going to do a TV show we're going to do this like it's like yeah it's like under the Disney bubble they want to expand it and make it so huge so I feel like they're going to keep doing it as long as it makes money here's the thing if it starts to not make money they're not going to do it and that is sort of the direction it's been trending in
Starting point is 01:54:31 I think tangled will be massive but like Moana did not the live action Moana I believe did not make a lot of money yeah in terms of like what the animated Moana did
Starting point is 01:54:46 you know yeah I'm looking at like there's just so many movies proposed live action deadline confirmed that a live action version of pretty these was happening but who knows yeah no I remember hearing that but I feel like
Starting point is 01:55:01 it's stalled or something French Charming. We got Lilo and Stitch they're doing. Corrella 2. Yeah, Lilo and Stitch they're
Starting point is 01:55:07 doing another one too. Yeah, Leelow and Stitch 2. Lilo. You know Disney. That's kind of like the Disney way. They just like keep recycling things and it worked for a while.
Starting point is 01:55:19 Oh, we forgot about Lion King. They also did live action Lion King. And see, never watched that. Never had any interest. Oh, see, it wasn't, it wasn't bad. I don't want to see like real lions. It was just weird though. Like it was a little weird.
Starting point is 01:55:30 Because that's the thing, it's like, I can buy. to like lions talking if it's cartoon. If it looks like a real lion, I don't want it to be talking. This is too believable. No, it's just weird. I get it, I get it, I get it.
Starting point is 01:55:43 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And you can't beat, you can't beat the original. I don't care how good it is. Like, you're not going to beat the first Lion King. Yeah, fair. Imagine they try to make a toy story, like, live action. That'd be so strange.
Starting point is 01:55:59 Don't even speak it because I bet they would. it's very possible. All right, I think that wraps it up for the Pop Corner today. Starting point is 01:56:57 Yeah, they're who you want to be. They're always on your screen. Two queens and they might be spilling royalty. A lot of topics that are. popping here to get into i know a show that you probably want to listen to who turn the heat up turn the beat up record the pod made a bag put their feet up the ones that leave no crumbs when they clean up who's the pod that they all want to meet up who turn the heat up turn the beat up record the pie made a bag put their feet up the ones that leave no crumbs when they clean up who's the
Starting point is 01:57:27 pod that they all want to meet up
